france continuing to be islamophobic and racist.
Banning abayas in schools. which are basically a cultural dress for many cultures.
First hijab, then niqab. now abayas/jilbabs. What next?
Will long sleeve tops and long skirts be banned too? What about long sleeved long dresses? (which is very similar to what an abaya is)
Will they ban graduation robes too? Those were inspired by our cultures and look very similar.
tell me this isn't misogyny and islamphobia. I dare you.

as we’re all condemning the Israeli occupation of Gaza and palestine as well as the anti-semitism sweeping the world I really truly hope we remember that all this is because of the imperial West.
This is the work of the colonial powers of the US, UK, France, Russia, Germany etc. When Congolese, Palestinians, Sudanese, Ukrainians are being slaughtered, it is THEM who are benefiting. It is THEM who instigate these atrocities against human beings. It is THEM who start and fund the wars. The West has been the #1 bastion for anti-Semitism (not that anti-semitism is not there in other parts of the world). The Western Empires have killed billions of innocent human beings for wealth. They have harvested nations for CENTURIES. They have massacred countless people for money. It isn’t just stolen wealth, it’s blood money. Their power didn’t end with the slave trade. They are still the biggest human traffickers. They still profit off the labor of ordinary folk in the global south. UNFAIRLY. Colonizers deliberately agitated different ethnic groups within the regions they colonized to encourage instability and discord. The US has been instrumental in modern times when it comes to this strategy of destabilization. Everything that happened in the colonial scramble of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as creating reckless borders that affect inter-ethnic relations to this day, treating their land as play things, is something that has contributed to the situation in Palestine. Just read about the UN’s hand in it. The US is still killing Native Americans today. France is still killing Central Africans today. I am so tired of different genocides gaining traction on social media and people acting like these are all random, isolated incidents that just popped out of the ground. THEY HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FOR DECADES IF NOT CENTURIES. The culprits are always the same.
LOOK AT THEM. EMPIRES BUILT ON MASS SLAVERY AND GENOCIDE WILL NEVER ESCAPE THEIR ROOTS.
THEY MUST CONTINUE TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES ON THE BLOOD OF INNOCENTS.
THEY MUST BE RESISTED AND DISSOLVED.

I don’t care about Israelis, the same way I don’t care about Americans, Brits, Frenchies, and Belgians.
I have no sympathy for nations who have no sympathy for others and there’s no whataboutism about it. Full stop. Period.

Ce n'est pas ce qu'il a dit la semaine dernière. Israéliens, je suis désolé pour notre président.

That's not what he said last week. Israelis, I'm so sorry for our president.

A shop owned by a Black woman in a small town in France received this message.
Tumblr media
Translation:
“Hello,
The concept and the idea are interesting for our small town and its people, we’re not saying anything about the fact a Black woman owns the place, she is in the clear as long as she comes from our land and not from Africa. But an Arab? An Arab at the front desk? An Arab everywhere? We’re fed up!! Isn’t there enough Viarmois (name of the people of the town) ? Unemployment is high for our beloved French people and you hire an Arab?
Its simple chores are for Arabs! Cleaning up…
That’s it!
Fire your employee if you don’t want us to make a petition against you!!
She is at the front desk on top of it she isn’t even presentable. Not even a tiny bit pretty!
PS: Hair straighter exists, frizzy/curly hair are not a French thing.”
The comment about the frizzy/curly hair shows that the “Arab” employee is not even a hijabi. So she is playing by their rules. She has a job, she doesn’t wear the hijab but because she is an Arab this person is trying to get her fired. If the shop owner wasn’t a Black woman this could get the Arab woman fired luckily she knows what racism is so she politely sent the racists off.
Anyway to the racists who will see this and comment as usual: I hope you choke in your sleep that will mean one less piece of shit on this planet and it will be one step closer to making this world a better place,

"Prostitution was illegal in most places, but the fines levied on prostitutes provided a steady income for towns (as they still do). Many approved of brothels to curb male rampages. Between 1436 and 1486, for example, gangs of young men, mostly the sons or servants of residents, preyed on Dijon women. They broke into the houses of spinsters, widows, or wives whose husbands were away to rape them, sometimes dragging the women through the streets to an empty house where they kept them for days, repeatedly raping them. City officials solved this problem by setting up municipal brothels. They filled them with the women who had been assaulted in the gang rape."

Reminder that Zuckerberg actively lobbied with Republican PR firms to make TikTok illegal because he couldn't compete with it.
Reminder that for all its faults TikTok has brought tons of awareness to important issues that barely got any coverage until they blew up on TikTok, and more that still barely got any mainstream coverage even after they did.
Reminder that TikTok has become the largest and easiest place for people to come together and organize, and has 150 million active users in the US.
Reminder that congress, especially conservatives, stand to gain a lot by banning it, because it means less people will hear about all the problematic (fascist) shit they're trying to pass, such as the 300+ anti-trans bills, the bills seeking to make abortion a felony punishable by death, or how they're trying to remove the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). They also get to 'look tough' against China.
Reminder that claims of concerns over data privacy are bullshit, because China could literally just buy our data if they wanted it. Tech companies just like and including Facebook collect and sell our data all the time. China wouldn't need to build an app to get it.
Reminder that banning TikTok sets a precedent that Congress could come for literally any other social media they deem 'a threat' and ban that too. Yes, even your personal favorite one.
Reminder that we should care about this and instead of saying "Good Riddance TikTok!" we should be actively trying to stop this violation of free speech and stop handing more power to fascists just because we personally don't like a thing or think it's cringe. This is bigger than your personal tastes.
Please sign this letter from the ACLU to your members of Congress and urge them to listen. There's also a hearing this Thursday on March 23rd at 10am EST in DC where the TikTok CEO will be testifying before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The hearing will be open to the public and will also be live streamed online.
I don't care if you hate TikTok or think it's "cringe." If you all actually hate Facebook and fascists as much as you say you do, then you won't stand for letting them win this fight to ban it.

We need to put pressure on our governments to change their stances and aid Palestine.
Daily clicks for Palestine.
Operation Olivebranch spreadsheet.
Find you're local MP's.
Find you're state representives.
Contact them.
Be it through email, telephone or through the post.
Tell them their needs be a ceasefire in Gaza.
Tell them that what Israel is violating the Geneva convention.
The government may be the ones incharge but they do not speak for us.
We are the people, we have a voice and the power to change minds.
And we owe the Palestinians to at least try.
Here is a google document of templates you can use for the UK, US, France, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal.
And if you live in another country you can amend them to fit.

"that you could be so cruel" ok correct me if i'm wrong but does penelope featherington not run a gossip rag that exist solely to publish unsubstantiated rumors about women she doesn't like for various reasons that have profoundly negative repercussions on those women (didn't the publication of marina's pregnancy lead to marina almost dying in her quest to terminate said pregnancy??????) and has in fact used that same rag to put not just colin's entire family but also specifically colin's sister, her best friend, through a significant amount of grief and strife that came as a direct result of that rag?
but colin's the cruel one? because she happened to eavesdrop on a conversation where he said he doesn't wanna date her? that's cruelty but all the other stuff isn't?
