I am going to keep on saying this but Mor is not the only dreamer born into the CoN. No effing way.
The fact Feyre describes people from the CoN as cruel and small minded, etc and not wanting them in Velaris pisses me off. Feyre never even talked to the citizens of the CoN. She only talked to Keir, (who we all know is a complete and utter ass). She is basing her perception of an entire community based on one person. Not to mention her perception of CoN is soley based on the IC’s perspective.
If the IC hate the CoN so much, let it be its own court. It literally as the word Court in it lol.
Like maybe the people of the CoN is cruel because they have Keir as their leader?? And why would Rhysand allow an abusive POS to rule.....like he wants his people to be abused by him (& his IC) and Keir. My heart goes out to all the residents in the CoN who have to close themselves off and become wolves and “cruel” in order to survive two abusive and cruel leaders.
Not to mention, they use CoN bodies to fight and die for their wars but don’t want said bodies in their privileged city, because of something that MIGHT happen. (aka ruin it)
But riddle me this, Velaris also has ‘slums’ and ‘seedy taverns’ because Nesta hung out there, so.... is something only considered less than when people the IC don’t like enjoy it?
The fact he told Velaris residents to turn away CoN residents so they pretty much get iced out was the last straw for me. Why does no one question this. Why does no one in this fandom call him out for that. The CoN residents are cruel because the IC said so, but I haven’t seen any cruelty from them. Maybe icy and cold stares, but that’s because Rhys gave them the energy first.
Like I legit want to know how the CoN residents are cruel. They fought and died in Rhysand’s war for Prythian, while citizens in Velaris stay safe. Amarantha slaughtered HALF of the CoN residents while Velaris residents stayed safe. The least Rhysand could do is show them the city and allow them to enjoy the city he protected at the expense and sacrifice of them.

I hate saying this because I try so hard to be someone who is supportive of other women. That being said, the more content I see from Feyre stans the more I'm convinced that Acotar is fantasy for the catty girls we all knew in High School. This is why they have so much trouble finding other books to scratch their Acotar itch. They crave more MCs that girlboss their way through a plot on the power of "My Author Says So" alone. Never actually having to prove to the reader who they are with their actions. They want surface level friendships. They desire heteronormative A/B/O fanfic with a recycled war plot in every single book. They adore carbon copy dudes who abuse the MC but it's okay because they don't have to think about it too hard. Mommy Maas has told them that it's not abuse because she says so. Never mind your pretty head about those icky thoughts about how you might view them. And if you say anything against her word, you're treated like shit and harassed with parroting.
Maas admits to being a catty girl in high school, all the relationships that are labelled "Squad Goals" in her books are toxic, full of shallow love and mistrust. The amount of toxic tendencies towards other women is sickening. On top of that, most rumors we hear about "a famous female author" being a toxic bitch to others have been mostly speculated to be Maas.
It's fantasy Riverdale.
Honestly, I've been less active on this blog because the content of the books, the ridiculous misogyny of the shipwar and the toxicity of the fandom were just getting to me and I stopped wanting to peruse anything pertaining to Maas. I took a step back, read a few historical romances (romances leagues less troubling than a fantasy world in which anything could be created), started a slice of life fantasy book, binged Centaurworld and got caught up on The Owl House. Then out of curiosity I came back to doom scroll the fandom and...
The vibe from Feyre's Stans is like watching those Tiktoks by Juilette Weg. Especially the ones with her Chloe character. To quote another Tiktoker (is that the name for them?)

If you're curious, the slice of life book is Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. I'm about half way and it's charming. The story is about an Orc woman named Viv who has retired from adventuring to open a coffee shop.

yep! this was specifically solidified for me after silver flames came out. feyre stans have been conditioned to always validate rhysand's intention over feyre's opinion. again - feyre has established that she:
(1) does not want rhysand to speak about her sisters in a disrespectful manner. feyre validates rhysand emotions about her sisters - meaning she isn't saying (and im not saying) that rhysand doesn't have a right to feel a certain way about her sisters. but that rhysand's feelings should not manifest in jabs and disrespectful words:
“Rhys said smoothly, “I’m not entirely sure Velaris is prepared for Nesta Archeron.”
“My sister’s not some feral animal,” I snapped.
Rhys recoiled a bit, the others suddenly finding the carpet, the divan, the books incredibly fascinating. “I didn’t mean that.”

“So she keeps saying, over and over,” Amren grumbled.
I shot her a glare. “Careful.”

that's a boundary being set - clear as day. feyre does not approve or condone outright disrespect of her sisters. this has nothing to do with how we believe xyz or what rhys has a right to do, but what feyre has established as a no go.
(2) that she does not feel comfortable with rhysand being overly protective, to the point he withholds information, is overly violent, or conflicts with her wants:
“It’s hard to shut down my instincts.”
Instincts. Just like … like someone else had instincts to protect, to hide me away. “Then you should have prepared yourself better,” I snapped. “You seemed to be going along just fine with it, until Keir said—”

(3)feyre doesn't care about instincts (as is an excuse used in sf), here she is telling rhys straight up that he needs to prepare himself better. bc she DOES NOT feel comfortable with the way rhys expressed his frustration. and again feyre is sympathetic to his reasonings, but she does not believe his intentions (in this case) justify the way he chooses to go about these things.
“I craned my neck to look up at him. “Never lie to me again. Not about that.”

(4) again - feyre establishing a boundary. never lie to her about anything, especially important things.
feyre (and also fucking amren) also establishes that she doesn't believe that keeping her sisters couped up in the house of wind to be productive or helpful:
“If you want to start convincing your sisters, get them out of the House. Being cooped up never helped anyone.”

and nesta has established to rhys that she wants no interest in cassian:
“Nesta had made it clear enough she had no interest in Cassian—not even in being in the same room as him. I knew why. I’d seen it happen, had felt that way plenty.”

feyre also establishes - to rhys - that her she knows her sisters don't do well with public humiliation, and making a scene:
“ “I shouldn’t have asked her in public. I made a mistake.”
and
“I loosed a long sigh. “I should have considered that telling strangers what happened to her in Hybern might … might not be something she was comfortable with. My sister has been a private person her entire life, even amongst us.”

im saying allll of this to say that in sf - rhysand literally takes all of these boundaries and shits on them. even his creation of the intervention conflicits against what feyre establishes: (1) her sister is a private person, and will not respond well to public humilation (2) nesta wants nothing to do with cassian (3) her sisters are not healty being in the house of wind and (4) feyre wants to be looped in and considered every step of the way. even the act of creating an intervention that goes so instinctively against feyre's wishes is an act of deep disrespect. that feyre stans can see these moments and still justify them bc their hatred for nesta and obsession w/ rhys trumps their 'love' for feyre. its a conditional like. here feyre is the victim and instead of writing metas and ff about feyre being done dirty by rhysand - they flock to justify rhysand's point to the point where they're willing to ignore feyre's opinions. its not abt how much we like / dislike the sisters. but how rhys's behavior conflicts against feyre's wants and boundaries. its about how those feyre stans would rather validate rhys then stand by feyre's emotions. to imply that rhysand's actions were appropriate means u place his actions above feyre.
feyre is adult and mature enough to manage her emotions, she not a child, she is perfectly able to stand-up and put her foot down. and she has - on multiple occasions retorted and fought back against her sisters - to consistently pretend feyre is a child who needs rhys to cosign and stand body-guard when feyre is perfectly able to do it herself says so much abt those 'stans' than they are willing to admit.
like feyre was able to face down tamlin - her abuser - all by her damn self. she's not some child who needs people to consistently defend her by undermining her opinions. if she wanted rhys to be an asshole to nesta - we would have saw that. instead we got this:
“That’s enough,” Feyre snapped at Rhys. “I told you to keep out of it.”
He dragged his star-flecked eyes to his mate, and it was all Nesta could do to keep from collapsing onto the couch as her knees gave out at last. Feyre angled her head, nostrils flaring, and said to Rhysand, “You can either leave, or you can stay and keep your mouth shut.”
we got feyre telling rhys and amren that she did not want them to behave that way. and even after that. both rhys and amren continue ignoring feyre's requests. feyre is not respected - these are not the actions of people who respect her as an equal. she's a child to them , and they believe they know better.
idk - if i were a feyre stan- yall would never have shut me up if my fav was treated like a doormat and sidelined. i would have been writing scathing metas on rhys and the ic. - i wouldve been explaining exactly why rhys withholding information was wrong - not just vaguely saying he was wrong and then justifying why he did it. i would have been an amren hater #1 for how she continually undermined feyre. idk...yall are not real feyre shooters. like damn your fav is catching strays by the author and the readers and you're only focused on how nesta factors into that equation?? like youve got bigger problems to worry abt here. feyre has been continually and consistently phased out of her own story by the author and that don't bother yall? hmm couldnt be me tho.

I never understood why people say Mor and Amren are the sisters Feyre never had. Or the IC was the family she never had. That makes no sense to me. The IC never really saw her has a “sister” or a “friend”.
Yeah Mor, saved her from being locked up by Tamlin. But it is because Rhys told Mor too. And yeah, I know Mor said she saw herself in Feyre with the whole “being locked up” and Mor being born into the Court of Nightmares. But I call bullshit. Mor doesn’t care.
She wouldn’t have cared for Feyre if she wasn’t Rhys’s mate. Cassian and Azriel wouldn’t have cared, and neither would Amren.
You know how I would know? Because they do nothing for the other fae in their court. Mor talks about being a dreamer born into the court of nightmares. What about the other dreamers Mor? Are you going to winnow in, break the wards and save them?
Cassian and Azriel talk about their horrid time being bastards in Illyria and how their mothers are treated. But they don’t help the bastards or the illyrian women.
(They only helped Feyre cause they love Rhys and basically knew she was his mate. )
Yeah Rhys has his library for SA victims. But literally all the women there are priestesses.....so other women (& shouldn’t there be a separate place for men too assaulted??) can’t be in there. The women in illyria...or women in CoN...etc.
And since Velaris is a secret city, I don’t think they would leave if they wanted. Maybe that is why Rhys & Co just drop the priestesses off and literally do nothing to help them. Like how Nesta was doing, to get them out of their shell.
The IC literally care about Rhys and by extension of being Rhys’s mate they care about Feyre. They only saw Feyre has Rhys’s mate and High lady. Cassian said, “as rhys’s mate you are his, but as high lady you are mine, and azriels, and mor’s and amrens...” (something along these lines). Azriel said “be careful how you speak about my high lady”. Like the IC never once defended Feyre cause she was their friend. Amren even said “go get your mate” when Feyre was in spring court. Not once did the word “friend” or “sister” come up.
The word family did come up basically once, and that was when Rhys and Feyre bonded, but even then they bowed to her. So they see her has an extension of Rhys.
Not to mention, the IC hated Nesta because Rhys hated Nesta. They didn’t hate Nesta for what she did to Feyre, (cause Elain did the same shit). They hated her cause Rhys did. Same way they liked Elain, cause Rhys did.
Moreover, if the IC truly respected Feyre, they would have told her about the pregnancy. But no, they listened to Rhys and got mad at the person for telling Feyre. Like if they truly cared about Feyre for Feyre, they would have told her right away, but they didn’t.
In all honesty, I feel bad for Feyre in this sense. She never branched out of the IC. And the one true friend she had (cough lucien cough) she allowed Rhys & Co to treat him like shit and then she treated him like shit driving him out. Feyre’s perception and how she treats people is based on the IC’s perception and I hate it.
Rhys be like, I hate how he treated you UTM and done nothing to get you out from Tamlin....Tamlin is his High lord, Lucien listens to him Rhys....kinda like how your IC listen to you when you pull rank, even if it is something they don’t agree with.

Actually Feyre is a fictional character who exists in a story which is written by an author.
And since we're on the topic, Feyre has the bare minimum of agency in her OWN story. She doesn't do anything that her [super-powered male] love interest disapproves of and never questions his decisions apart from the bare minimum needed to show that she's an empowered girlboss(tm). Her characterization is hugely inconsistent and frequently retconned because she's less a character in a story than she is vehicle for navel gazing at the actual main character of the ACOTAR universe - her male hetero love interest, round whom the planet revolves.

And what if I told you that Nesta was well within her right to reveal the truth to Feyre? What if I told you that Nesta revealing the truth spitefully or in a mean way was in no way comparable to the IC’s lies to Feyre? WHAT IF I TOLD YOU that I couldn’t care less how she said it, just that she said it at all?
Nesta seems to be the only one with the tenacity to unmask the unending facade of the IC. She might be a bitch, but at least she’s honest. If anything, she does right by Feyre for telling her the truth and I will always have more respect for her than the immortal clique who lied to Feyre for months to “protect her”. Oh how noble of them! And here I was thinking that they respected Feyre as a strong and competent leader (guess I was wrong)
The IC is more enraged by the knowledge of a terrible act being spoken aloud than the act itself. It’s as if they live to maintain a certain type of decorum that really just sweeps their troubles, trauma and grievances under the rug. Nesta telling the truth was a violation of that conduct, it was an act that unmasked the IC for what it has been this entire time. A tightly knit clique who enforce their views on others and see the Archeron as inherently beneath them. As such, considering their feelings, opinions and autonomy is unnecessary. (Because they apparently know best)

People saying that Feyre gained some rose-coloured glasses and ignored Rhys’ faults after she accepted the bond…are we reading the same books? Because throughout the series, and even after she accepted the bond, she scolds him or calls him out on his crap when he messes up. Always. We even see this in acosf, even though the story is no longer being told from their perspective.
You just don’t like the fact that Rhys isn’t evil like you want him to be so bad. Even Ne.sta herself admits that Rhys is a good person despite all her hatred towards him soooo…🤷🏻♀️
