I have a more reasonable post in drafts, but ... despite cherishing my hatred of Arvedui close to my heart, I think my most towering, irrational, seething loathing of a character idealized by the narrative despite him making some dubious choices as far as I'm concerned is in Pride and Prejudice.

No, not Jane. I love Jane and she's strong just the way she is! But I never feel more inclined to just reject what every single character and the narrative is saying than when it comes to Darcy and Georgiana's father/Wickham's godfather.

Yes, he died years before P&P starts and we never meet him and he was super nice and everyone loved him. None of these things can stop the force of my hatred, though! I think he screwed up badly with both Wickham and Darcy, I don't buy their excuses for him, and I want to believe Elizabeth thoroughly redecorates that one room at Pemberley that's currently being maintained exactly the way Darcy and Georgiana's father liked it (down to a picture of Wickham still being kept there, half a decade after their father died).

There's something mildly unsettling to me about the shadow this man casts over nearly everyone he came into contact with, long after his death. Be free of him!!

the other thing I guess I’ll address here is spoilers. The comic takes place kinda mid-episode 62 and so, mostly for funsies, will not outright spoil anything after that. Wizened readers know exactly what Willy threatened Tilt with, anyone somehow reading this before finishing season 1 will not. Further on this note, certain revelations provided by season 2 will not be changing this comic! That’s not to say this comic is going to go against season 2. Season 2 absolutely is going to inform more than 1 upcoming scene, but only in the way of characterization. This takes place well before season 2 and so can’t outright reference season 2 events, but characters who appear in season 2 which also appear here can absolutely be informed in their writing here by their future behavior (or re-contextualized current behavior).

CU, except I swapped the genders and changed some minor story details

So basically it's a more magical girl-ish version of the story instead of a normal superhero one (she still is, but just more... magical, I guess?)

#and I still need to come up with the names for half the characters!!#of course only if i ever expand apon this concept #I'm thinking of having this AU's George be named “Mona”#which (if you read the tags of the WIP for this) was originally one of the names I was going to use for Melvin #as soon as I got the idea for this AU I knew exactly what the AU Harold's hair would look like #it's kind of inspired by clawdeen from g3 of monster high #(gotta sneak my other fixations in somehow)#as for Mona's design #I know girls wear ties #but I wanted it to make sense within the context of the story #so i changed her signature accessory to a belt #lets just say the sixth graders had it worse in this version #and Cap...#a lot of details to kind of explain #(not fully idk how to do that)#so she's basically a magical girl here #a very stupid one might i add #yes she is holding a roll of toilet paper #she uses it like a ribbon baton #(she has accidentally mummified herself in it on multiple occasions)#the silver jewellery is meant to resemble the curtain rings #to work around the toupee thing i gave her some grey hairs near the top of her head #and the Krupp of this universe would wear her hair up in a bun which would hide the fact she's already going grey #i know it's not as funny as the Krupp being obviously bald under his fake hair thing #but I'm trying to adjust things where I need to in this universe #the George and Harold here still have the same questionable sense of humour too #captain underpants #george beard #harold hutchins #art
