I always wonder what Jason’s life would’ve looked like had he survived Burning Maze. Leo decided to settle down and go to school living at the Waystation. Piper and him no longer together (not saying that defies him) and she moved back to Oklahoma. I just wonder what he would’ve done long term. He was all alone at the all boys school:(

I DON'T CARE about the Percy vs. Jason discourse. It's STUPID. They are both very powerful heroes with great accomplishment who had their childhoods stolen (then later had the lives they made ripped away for "the greater good")

At the end of the day, Jason never mattered to the Romans the same way the Greeks cared about Percy. JASON WAS THEIR LEADER THEIR NUMBER ONE WARRIOR. Percy was A GREAT leader but not in the way Jason was THE leader (alongside Reyna).

And when Percy went missing his camp never stopped looking for him, they scoured the earth and underworld for him.

When Jason went missing, no one looked for him. There was no search party, no loved ones stricken with grief praying the unthinkable didnt happen with every passing moment, no one who cared enough to drop everything that mattered to them for a seemingly hopeless search. He was accepted as DEAD and there was no sort of funeral/memorial service for him. He was REPLACED!! BY PERCY!!!

Jason Grace who wonders why Percy gets his memories back but he doesn't. Why Percy was allowed to grow up with his mother.

But Jason was stolen from his.

Percy gets to grow up surrounded by those who genuinely love him. People who love him enough to search for him when no one looked for Jason.

Percy gets to joke around with his father while Jason has never met Jupiter. The closest he's gotten to him is Zeus who very openly doesn't like Jason.

Percy even gets a sister and Jason loves Thalia but they're basically strangers.

Everything Jason's been told was all a lie. Everyone who's ever loved him was from afar, the only relationship he's ever had was all fake.

But he doesn't say it because he cares about Percy, because he deserves the best. He wants to be happy for him. Jason is at his side, helping him through his trauma of Tartarus.

And feeling horrible for any feelings of jealously and bitterness.

Because Percy's suffering, his life is far from perfect. He's getting the life he deserves. Percy's going to New Rome University. He's got the girl and love of his life.

He's going to live a more peaceful life. And it's everything Jason wants but never will have.

He knows that, he knows that even after leaving Camp Jupiter.

Jason has nothing to lose. His friends will move on and it's not like Camp Jupiter will ever mourn him. No achievements he gets will ever matter.

He realises the true differences between them is that Percy Jackson is human. He's completly and utterly and painfully human.

In all the ways that Jason Grace is not. He's nothing but a tool and a pawn. He will never know peace, he will never know love and care.

Everything about him from his memories to his personality was all manufactured. Jason was made for a purpose, designed to fall at the right moment just like a domino.

And it's time Jason accepts that. It was nice to pretend, just for a year that he was a person who deserved better.

But Jason knows the truth. So he writes his letters, cleans his dorm and leaves without a second word.

"Hey, Percy? Don't ever stop being you. I hope you have fun at New Rome, the welcome party should be a blast."

"I will but you're er starting to freak me out a bit man... You make it sound like you won't be there with me even though I invited you."

"I'm glad, that we got to meet. Maybe we'll meet again some day."

jason was never unloyal, in fact, i'm decently sure he did try to start conversations with reyna again after they met again; it was reyna who decided to ignore him. i agree tho, it's BOTH of their faults that their friendship didn't work out. it's also stated so many times during jason's chapters, but he feels so guilty about what happened with reyna!! it's mentioned so much that he hated himself for how he didn't tell her he didn't see her the way she saw him, but how he was aware of how she felt.

also, i do think reyna probably wanted to search for jason, but it was probably octavian's doing that she couldn't, and maybe also her bitterness about her unrequited feelings that made her not search. regardless, how she treated him after they saw each other again was so sad and honestly they had so much potential (platonically!!!!).

but yeah, jason didn't have all his memories back (i'm also decently sure he never did get all of them back). he'd also never been in love with reyna, and did try to rebuild their friendship, but she ignored him.

reyna moved on quickly too, and this was proven when she got feelings for percy, and in toa, became a huntress of artemis. as you said ^^ it was literally just teenage drama, and it didn't matter much in the end!!!

anyway, it was both of them that caused their friendship to fall apart; it's not just jason's, and it's not just reyna's.

Genuinely VERY confused, why is the majority of the fandom blaming Jason for the downfall of his friendship with Reyna?

i legit came across like a handful of comments today like "Reyna deserved much better than dirtbag Jason, he was such a jerk to her, choosing Piper over her and not talking to her after he came back to camp jupiter"

like?? stop over victimizing Reyna in this situation, it isnt even that serious lmao its just teenage drama, she doesn't need pity for this. both Reyna AND Jason were accountable for their crumbling friendship, it wasnt all on Jason. Reyna made PLENTY of mistakes too they are LITERAL teenagers, stuff like this is normal ffs. She didn't send a search party after Jason to look for him, she never held a memorial service for him even after the camp basically thought he was dead, she never initiated a conversation with Jason either after he came back, and practically avoided him the entire time completely (she flat out avoided eye contact with him in BOO and intentionally ONLY acknowledged Piper who was standing next to him)

Also, Reyna did literally the same thing to Jason that people are bashing him for, The fandom's problem with him is that he shouldnt have developed feelings for piper bc it "betrays his connection" with Reyna. But anyone ever thought about how Reyna developed feelings for Percy almost immediately after he came to camp while simultaneously claiming that she longed for a relationship with jason? if you put it in the fandom's logic, Reyna too, was "unloyal" to Jason, since she did not hesitate in giving a random new boy her best friend's position.

you cant tell me she wouldnt have gotten with percy if he were single. be so fr rn. but apparently its completely alright if she moved on from jason with percy, but its illegal if jason moved on from reyna with piper, right? they owed eachother absolutely nothing. They were just friends.

Jason had no reason to even think reyna liked him that way since she canonically avoided him thoroughly after the whole venus mess. so no. Just bc Reyna wasnt upfront with her feelings for him, does NOT mean he "lead" her on.

this situation isnt black or white, i think yall forget that they are both literal children

Rachel is SUCH a girl's girl and I swear if I see ppl hating on her again- like she backed off THE moment she knew annabeth liked Percy, she didn't even have to do that since annabeth wasn't even Percy's girlfriend yet, so she isn't even obligated to back away. Since annabeth has no "claim" over Percy. But she did it anyway because she wanted annabeth to be happy, Shes genuinely so chill and never retaliated when Annabeth went all volcano on her. Also never insulted annabeth back.

One thing I like is how Rick made sure that Percy was NEVER mean to Rachel, or degraded her in any way. There's this thing I've noticed where writers make their characters criticize the female rival in the love triangle to uplift the main love interest. Rachel IS a cool person, and Rick made sure to acknowledge that, by making Percy admit that shes pretty and cool, Tyson calling her beautiful, etc. instead of making her behave badly so she simply exists to make annabeth look "cooler". Which is something, he unfortunately did with Piper and Drew. Making Drew a stereotypical mean girl to uplift Piper and make her look better.

i am on my knees asking, BEGGING, for the PJO (tv series) fandom to not ship walker and leah.

first off, they’re both minors. second, they are actual people, they are not actually percy and annabeth.

i’ve been in far too many fandoms where the line between shipping two characters and shipping the actors that play them gets blurred, and it (more often than not) ruins their friendship irl. so PLEASE let these two CHILDREN be separate from their characters.

I think people often hate Jason for reasons they should feel sorry for him

you hate because he's too perfect? he lives with pressure of everyone's expectations that he'll be perfect.

He has no personality? he was raised a child soldier, a tool for the gods and wasn't allowed to be his own person. despite that he did develop a personality and hera took it from him.

we don't know anything about him? he doesn't know anything about him.

He's not Percy Jackson? he's all too aware of that.
