i’ve been continuing cannibal!roys fic throughout s4, mostly in response to @myplasticadversary‘s probably joking request for the roy kids eating their dad’s body (which im really too late for at this point lmao but whatever) but as the season has progressed it’s gotten more horrible in my mind where this thing goes.
like kendall thinks through their dad’s death, and by eating him, they - but especially him - can be cured of the bloodlust, break the cycle, close the portal etc. but unfortunately that’s not happened. if anything, he’s hungrier than ever, and that shameful inner voice that’s kept it in check all these years, only slipping that one time and getting Dodds killed, is suddenly much quieter. he starts to worry that whatever made logan what he was has now grown in him, like that gaping maw needs to be a certain size no matter who’s there to embody it, and that’s him now. can he live with it, he wonders, can he modify his moral code to accommodate these new needs?
and as he’s wondering, maybe after he’s already stepped over a couple of boundaries with colin’s help, there’s roman, adrift without their dad. if not incompetent as ceo, he’s definitely uncomfortable in the role, and being their dad doesn’t suit him so naturally the way it seems to suit ken - and there’s always a top dog anyway, right? and all roman wants is his dad back to love him the way he always did, never mind the pain. he and kendall have been prey their whole lives, conditioned to see themselves no other way as far as their dad was concerned, but kendall’s always tried to shoot for predator in a way roman never did. and now kendall’s made it, and he’s hungry, and roman’s right there, wondering to himself whose blood dad liked the taste of more.
maybe roman lets kendall feed on him willingly enough that it’s practically an offer, maybe he just lets him do it because he can’t bring himself to say no and agency/personhood weren’t working out for him anyway. and maybe kendall hates every second of what he’s doing but he just cannot stop and he convinces himself that this is a natural life cycle development for both of them, that roman’ll be fine and this is better than some poor guy getting shanked and butchered for his benefit. and maybe it doesn’t just happen one time like they both say it will.
hopefully next episode will make me abort all of this because it feels weirdly like a horrific line to cross, even in dead dove fic! mostly cause im worried it’ll narratively parallel whatever michael/fredo shit they have up their sleeve. but i had to let it out. im still writing the thing where they eat their dad though, that one’s heartwarming

Anyway i just. AUGHSHHSHS...
The. Like ok Fu Hua's shadow knight battlesuit looks. Well, it looks. Not bad or good it just IS THERE.
But the way they illustrated her in ER?? LIKE
Literally how can I put it into words that she looks like a little swallow?? Licherally just a little bird (yes i know her name means bird BUT STILL LIKE AUDJJSJS) she's so. Baby she deserves the world oh my god i am filled with SO MUCH EMOTION.
Not gonna touch on what the fuck TM is her outfit (i think it's cute but weird and i think we can all guess why lol Eden girl why did you do Hua like this...girl is flat)
Anyway 2nd part of my brainrot consists of Senti interactions with her and everyone else. Who cares why she's there or how did she even GET THERE but alright.
I do head canon that after the whole Herrscher of Domination chapter, Senti still holds a little bit of resentment for Fu Hua bc of that betrayal so 😔 hot girl summer is gonna have to wait until they reconcile. HOWEVER based on her bridge voice lines she does wish for Fu Hua to be happy so it's a back n forth tho i suppose most of the voice lines were written with some neutral (at least) to friendly relationship in mind.
THAT SAID... I think despite having conflicted thoughts about Sim Hua at first (before they realize who Senti actually is), she'd probably try to be cold and angry to keep up her appeal however she cannot fault Sim Hua for stuff she hasn't done 😞😭 like. Ok Hua is still Hua (as per Mei's comment) however she's still. YOU KNOW SHES THE. like she's just there she's trying her best and is more reserved and shy and doesn't speak her mind that much.
So I'd assume if a fight broke out (as we see in Elysium Everlasting, tho i suppose fight is a bit of a misunderstanding LMAO) Senti would - despite claiming to hate all things Fu Hua (her sim included) PROBABLY would threaten to beat the shit out of anyone who looks at Sim Hua the wrong way.
Kalpas better watch his fucking back. Like 🤨 yeah she 'dislikes' Sim Hua but that doesn't give anyone the right to say anything mean to her or they're gonna fucking get it !!!
I think she feels some sort of closeness w Sim Hua from the shared experience of like. (Well i know she's still been there for 50k years too but you know.) Being pretty new and despite having some experience, STILL being quite unsure where your place is or what you're supposed to do.
Her being fiercely protective of Sim Hua would be an interesting dynamic and I think that'd be really cute lol ((not a ship btw but u know just!! U look at a little scrunkly and u decide that u would kill for them that's pretty much Senti))
OH I ALMOST FORGOT - Sim Hua realizing (with some help from Elysia, Eden and Su what Senti is doing (but also she notices it herself bc Senti weirdly hovers around her and glares at Mobius even when she's just passing by) AND THEN U KNOW JUST!! FINDING OUT THAT SHES LIKE. A HERRSCHER HELP? literally her own future self but not really and also the thing that took away so many loved people in her life is now here in front of her (well it wasn't Senti but Herrschers by design, you get my point) and she's not doing anything wrong and it's conflicting (and sometimes a little heartwarming) and even fun sometimes if Sim Hua decides to reach out to Senti a few times and watch her fumble with words because she's not expecting it
Anyway let!! Them!! Interact!! And maybe let Senti bite Kalpas i think that'd also be fun. Beating him up in the Elsyian parking lot

I know it's become a part of tumblr but my god the search function is so fucking bad. also if i search by most popular i wish tumblr would actually sort things based on notes and not ??? who knows what weird algorithm. sometimes (like when looking for a viral post or specific meme) you want the original and not the more recent copies of it. i don't even know what the criteria is for "most popular" it seems to just be completely random. one note posts next to thousand note ones. not to mention how the search function never gives you what you're looking for but you're Always sure to have at least one [character] x reader fanfic in there. why. i miss the days where you could specify that you only want search results that are TAGGED what you searched. yes this still works but it takes you to a weirdly designed in-lay window that is just impossible to navigate on mobile.

dude bring ask culture back. i recently realised how bored i was just using tumblr how most people use it nowadays. like a sort of superior pinterest. i just. ig i wish people would take some time to ask follow up questions when they see a personal post about some kind of cool story or say something nice in the asks when someone isn't feeling well. also ask games lmao. like even a few years ago my dash was Full of ask games and i was just always too shy to ask or thought "well what do i care" but it's not really about whether or not you care what someone's favourite color or animal is... it's more about the interaction and attention and that's not a bad thing. idk i just. am bummed that it went away. i would ask everyone stuff now.

That stupid little thing that makes me smile.
We've all got our guilty pleasures. That one, kinda cringey, kinda cheesy thing that is oddly comforting and something we treasure deeply in our hearts. Or perhaps it's fleeting, and it only lasts a few seconds in your ears before it disappears, escaping to your memories. I'm quite familiar with both of them—I'd be lying if I said otherwise.
So, what's the guilty pleasure in question today? Asmr's. Specifically, POV asmr's.
Hold on, I can tell you're already scrunching your face up in disgust and are a mere second from diverting your eyes, but keep them here for a second. I'm not talking about those overly dramatic asmr's with a macho bully that's pining over you. I'm not talking about those weirdly suggestive asmr's where 90% of the video is lip smacking and nonsensical whispering. And no, I'm not talking about those asmr's with strange plots involving fantastical creatures—you know, like a catgirl girlfriend who is obsessed with you wholeheartedly.
No, I'm talking about the quiet and peaceful asmr's. The ones where the only sounds you hear are breathing and a heartbeat. The ones where you can hear fire softly crackling in the back, but the sound of sketching dominates. The ones where you can hear the sound of an arm sliding over skin in a hug, and clacks of a computer can be heard playing in the back. Are these oddly specific? Yes, yes they are. Are these also actual videos that I'm describing and explaining? Yes, unsurprisingly—I've always sucked at being subtle anyway, so I didn't bother trying.
I've got two favourite asmr videos so far, so I thought to share them. They're sweet, overall quiet and relaxing, and something I treasure a tiny bit. I've more or less forgotten how to fall asleep anymore without something blasting in my ears and waiting to pass out, but these videos oddly help. The sweet nothings included in them, especially things like "jagiya" or "I got you" or just the faintest kisses are...heartwarming? I don't know how to explain it without sounding weird or a creep (putting the 'stalker' in stan aha), but hearing those words—regardless if it was another idol's name—really does help me relax and fall asleep without any tension holding me back.

For the second one, I'd ignore the title if I were you—unless you'd rather choose to dive into your delulu fantasies, which, by all means, go ahead. Yes, I'm guilty. But hey, could you really blame me? I fell asleep for 30 minutes as I typed this out, and I had been listening to the second video. These videos, perhaps only subjective and exclusive to myself, are both comforting and healing.
So, there, I said it: listening to Stray Kids asmr is my guilty pleasure.
Since we're on the topic, this is my favourite channel so far:
I love all their videos, and the plots and themes are both awfully poetic but almost naturally comforting. I already feel a warmth blooming within me whenever I read the titles alone—okay, fine, so I've only listened to about 4 videos, and two of them were identical but a different idol. Still, I love them either way.

Ahhh, I can’t believe it’s over now. My heart is definitely full of love for Isi even though this season wasn’t perfect and definitely had its (many) faults.
1. My award for the best line of the episode goes to Umut with “Give my regards to Sascha and don’t contort your body at ballet” A legend <3 (Also can I just add that Umut’s actor was genuinely pretty strong in his scenes?)
2. I’m glad we got a moment of Isi herself being at peace and expressing themself with makeup. (I would’ve loved more Isi alone clips just like everyone but I’m glad we got a minute of that in the last clip)
3. HOW ADORABLE WAS ISI RUNNING INTO SASCHA’S ARMS AND HUGGING HIM? That was so sweet, their enthusiasm warms my heart :( and Lou and Sascha being friends is sweet to me, why lie <3
4. The dancing routine was weirdly intense and absolutely not what I was expecting...except I didn’t really know what to expect so this might check out. I think I liked it? I’m not quite sure, I’m just glad everyone’s happy and everyone hugging each other was really heartwarming.
5. Sascha and Isi doing Sascha’s signature move was very important to me and it was so cute to see them dance together. And Isi didn’t get swept away by Lou this time but she was dancing with both of them. (A welcoming parallel to ep1!)
6. I’m glad Kieu My acknowledged how much Ava helped and we could see her for a little phone call!
Long story short, I’m glad we got a 28-minute episode to end the season with and everyone seemed happy! <3 (I know playing CURE FOR ME for the fourth time in a clip would’ve been a lot but I’m a sucker for parallels.......I would’ve liked it lmao)

I'm gonna go ahead and apologize now because this is long; please feel free to ignore my wordy ass, I just have a lot of feelings about a certain someone that showed up in the new chapter lol.
I am still trying to get my shit together enough to write a proper review, but I did want to come yell at you for making the grape boy somewhat likeable, like...

Lmao, in all seriousness tho, it's nice to see him have a personality that isn't just "Mmmm, tits" *drools* I like to think that everyone in the series grows up and (mostly) out of the worst of their habits, and while Mineta is still a bit of a lecher here he isn't nearly as offensive/creepy as he comes off in show. In fact he's actually sympathetic in a lot way. The bit about seeing his first dead body before "getting laid" hit different like... He tries to play it off like a joke, but dude has to have just as much PTSD as the rest of them, maybe even more given that he wasn't able to fight back in the same way as someone like Bkg or Deku would be able to with their super powerful offensive quirks. They were all just kids, but they had to face hell full on from jump, and let me stop before I get too in my feelings lol.
In a lot of ways, he reminds of you the boys from school — crude. Taking for granted the safety from being in a pack, unchallenged. Leering at posters, saying off-colour things because no one corrects them.
That's exactly the way I view him, just a crude little thing that refuses to be put in his place for long lol. Still, with his being a hero I would hope that he keeps a cap on it while he's on the job--in fact I'm sure he does; if he didn't I'm sure that Aizawa would've yanked his licence by now, the likes of Deku and Kiri wouldn't continue to associate with him, and that's saying nothing of the shit that would get posted to social mead and such. I feel like the only reason he says what he says to the Reader is b/c she's a little gremlin herself and he knows he's got a bit more leeway, yanno?
The little hangout session that they had at the end of the chapter was weirdly heartwarming?? I want a friend(???) that I can be a surly little shit with and draw on and that will call my bf that's not really my bf but should be my bf because he's (that is Mineta) got more emotional intelligence than me lmao. me being a shit-stirrer/asking myself questions i don’t have answers for under the cut
Cat asked me this question earlier today, actually — why Mineta. And honestly? Part of it is the challenge he represents — like, how do you write him into a fic and mature him up so that he’s at the very least, tolerable, but also keep the backbone of his character (which is being a little degenerate). Like, is it possible? One of the most popular tags on ao3 for mineta minoru is something along the lines of “mineta minoru is replaced with shinsou hitoshi” LOL so…….. why didn’t I just use Shinsou? Or Aoyama or Iida, as Cat suggested? And beyond the part of me that delights in giving myself perceived challenges, there were two stark reasons that stuck out to me, when i was first mulling over his inclusion.
1) the fact that he can draw. it’s literally as simple as that. ever since the BNHA exhibition opened up in Japan and it was revealed that there was a scene in there with a class blackboard and the kids having their little drawing competition — and that Mineta was objectively the most skilled — i was like, “i have to include that”. LOL. it’s like you say, Puck, our Reader is a little gremlin herself — i thought if I was going to write a Reader that could handle interacting with him (ie, be in a position to pay him out) it was going to be this one. I think being in the manga industry and starting out on this journey of creating and drawing a Shonen manga sort of put Reader in this unique position of… being in what seems like a boys’ club? So she’d be used to the male gaze within her field. I follow Horikoshi’s assistant (former assistant?) on twitter and let me tell you, that man is not shy about the things that he likes to draw LOL.
the 2) thing was the philosophy i’ve sort of accidentally given myself LOL and that’s the fact that — as a Bakugou stan, if i’m giving grace to a character who was a literal violent bully then………. i can use my magic powers and hand it around to the other characters, too, LOL. and like, i would argue that with Bakugou it’s different, like we’re currently seeing in the manga how he has grown and learnt and is actively changing, which is the key to any kind of redemption. do i think Mineta will ever undergo that in cannon? absolutely not lmao, i see him as being being Hori’s idea of comedic relief, he’s always going to be a horrible little degen. but i want it for him…… if only to justify why the boys of Class-A collectively ignore his bullshit, for the most part? Like, none of them actively call him out on it?? i think of the time he tried to climb the wall to spy on the girls in the onsen — and how it was literally only Iida scolding him and how it took a child to stop him. Or the one when he found the stupid hole into the girl’s changing room and while the boys all looked grossed out….. Jirou’s the one that point an end to that?????? I saw a TikTok (derogatory) suggesting how like, none of the girls of Class-A would trust Aizawa, as adults, because he didn’t do anything to put an end to Mineta’s bullshit, and it was a devastating suggesting. None of us want to believe that our favourites would be passively okay with this kind of behaviour, right?? Which means……. Mineta’s gotta change LMAO. And if Hori isn’t going to do it then imma borrow him and do it myself. Does it work? I have no idea LMAO i can’t judge anymore, my meter is broken. but i’m gonna work with what i’ve given myself and it either will, or it won’t LMAOOOO kldsfjlksdjflkdj fic is about having fun at the end of the day. :’)
But it’s like you point out, Puck — Mineta is also a child, when these kids get trotted out to their first War. And he’s also not as offensively built as the hard-hitters like Deku and Bakugou and Shouto are. Even if it’s not explored in the manga, that War is going to change them all somehow.
So, my gameplan for Mineta was to grab ahold of the tiny things about him — the talent for drawing, the like one [1] observation he has about the wreckage of the war/pro heroes during the war arc, his tears for Bakugou when B wakes up afterwards and how he tells Deku how cool he was and how much he admires him, in the current Bring Deku Home chapters — and try to envision a sleaze bag who learns that the bullshit he pulls won’t be tolerated, even if he’s still ultimately a skeeze LOL. i mean, he’s never going to drop that er…. appreciation for the female form. and i mean, hey, live your best life King, i’ve distinctly noticed a hand-fetish floating around on this site lately so i’m not gonna be like “NO men can’t like ANYTHING”. But the thing with him being a sleaze and open with his leering is like, he’s actively made the girls of his class uncomfortable with that in the past — how do you write it so that he’s not doing that in a position of power with the women he works with (and saves!), as an adult?? Maturity only goes so far. How much can I bank on the war and the subsequent bullshit they’re gonna face from it on…. transforming him??? It shouldn’t be up to the girls he’s learning with to police him, they’re just children. I have a vague gameplan for it — whether or not it works will be one thing; whether i can naturally shove it into the fic is another, LOL. Guess we’ll see. 🧐
SAYING ALL THAT,,,,, i’m actually really glad you liked (???) the ending scene with him because it’s my favourite LMAO lkdjflkdsjflkdjfkldsjf. 😭😭 Reader is by no means perfect, and she and Mineta both need to start treating each other with more respect, but her bullying of him was fun to write and I like imagining a Mineta who considers himself to be close with Deku (whether or not Deku thinks the same is up for debate) going along with it. i could see this version of Mineta being enough of a shit-stirrer to say something like, “gotta lock that shit down” to Deku LMAO kdfjlkdsjflkdsfjdklsfj and then getting left on a skyscraper somewhere…. RIP short King.

One thing I want to know about you: Are there any shows you like, but don't necessarily talk about on your tumblr? No need to name them if you don't want to, just curious. I hope you have a pleasant day.
I have a bunch actually! Most of the things I don’t talk about on main you can find reblogs of on my reblog account, but one that I don’t talk about or reblog much of on either is The Good Place, which is probably my favourite show ever.
Its hilarious, it’s heartwarming, it has such a wonderful message, it’s finale was perfect, it’s character development is incredible, I could honestly ramble about this show for hours.
I also love Brooklyn 99, it’s fucking hilarious, even if season 6 sucked for the most part I’d blame it on the new production crew, and season 7 was an improvement even if it wasn’t as good as 1-5, so I’m hopeful for season 8! And also very curious as to what they’ll do, I really hope the squad doesn’t break up in the finale or anything because that would break me.
OH I’ve been on a miraculous spree recently with the release of Gang of Secrets dragging me back into that one, in general Miraculous is just kind of,,,ok imo? I can’t praise this writing for hours like I can other shows, but I like it’s concept, and it’ll probably be cropping up a bit more on main due to something I’m working on so look out for that I guess lmao
Another show that frequents my reblog account is Doctor Who, I love that show so much man. I think Capaldi’s seasons are my favourite? His doctor is just so funny and I love Moffat’s whimsical take on the Doctor. The latest seasons are nowhere near as good though, I’m honestly glad that Ryan and Graham are gone, like I just didn’t care about them, I felt nothing when they left. Ryan’s writing improved towards the end but it doesn’t make up for the amount of time where he was just so insufferably boring. I’m hopeful for the next season, I’m interested in the new character dynamic of just Yaz and the Doctor, I love Jodie Whitaker and she’s had some awesome moments in the last season, so I just really hope she gets to shine some more. Speaking of Doctor Who I’m midway through Season 2 of Torchwood! It’s pretty good, I like the darker take on the Doctor Who world, even if they have the occasional “I’m 14 and this is deep” moment. Like the sex gas, and Susie going from a realistic well rounded character with good motivations to a comic book villain, but in general it’s pretty good - Ianto and Tosh are so precious I’d kill for them both, and I love how it shifts from weirdly hilarious to serious so fast (like that one scene where it just zooms in on Ianto who very seriously says “life knife”, and the line “gloves tend to come in pairs” LIKE BRUH FROM THE SAME CHARACTER TOO??), I’ve been meaning to finish it but I keep forgetting lmao
I also love Gentleman Jack, it’s so underrated, if you want good lesbian representation then WATCH THIS SHOW!! It’s literally about two real life lesbians living in the 1830s, and the world building is so good, it genuinely feels like the 1800s when you’re watching it it’s so perfect, and the finale killed me it was so cute, but also that ominous moment where that one guy found out about the side plot and I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCCHHH!! I can’t wait for season 2 I’m so hyped
I don’t think I’ve ever posted about She-Ra on main either, but I adore that show, binged it in a day or two a few months back and it’s so good, I’m in love with Scorpio and Catra
This was longer than I meant it to be bc I just ended up rambling about my favourite shows, but yeah, I have a bunch that I just don’t talk about much in tumblr. Not for any particular reason, I just don’t. A lot of them are live action, and I have trouble drawing real life people so that could be part of it, but it’s also sometimes nice to have shows that you don’t think about too much, they’re just there to be enjoyed yanno
