i have thoughts about friendship and amatonormativity. they're not very organized but they are here. I just wanted to warn anyone that might randomly see my posts sometimes that sometime I might show up with a long post about friendship and amatonormativity.

I am a multi shipper so don't take this as an attack on Byler, I like Byler's dynamic too but I like and think Mileven is endgame. My problem with Byler is actually how some of the shippers act, like saying Mike has never loved El and was just with her to his sexuality does not sound great. Now, I am queer myself and I understand that this type of experience can happen irl. But in terms of it happening in a limited time frame in a tv show where we just watch these characters for a couple of seasons and how Mileven has been marketed for 4 seasons straight, are we really supposed to just accept that Mike and El never ever felt romantic feelings for each other? And the monologue, which happened in the show's climax moment, it being disregarded as a lie would feel really jarring, especially when we know El got strength from it. Why include it at all if it was a lie? I think there is a difference between preferring Byler as an outcome and a ship, versus trying to erase Mileven's romantic existence completely. Just thinking about the show's narrative, we have gone past the notion of Mike and El never loving each other romantically IMHO.

It all depends on the interpretation you have, I agree with you in thinking they have a real romantic relationship but the people in the byler tag that say they don't, genuinely think Mike has been lying to everyone and himself for years and that that's what the writers are writing, it's not exactly "wanting" to eliminate the relationship as much as thinking that something is happening because of certain details that they think matter

I don't agree that that's the correct interpretation of the show but I genuinely believe byler is going to be the endgame relationship for Mike and Will at the same time

I think that the Duffers will not disregard the relationship Mike had with El in the show, but they are moving the story towards byler endgame because I don't think Mike and El are compatible anymore, their love and relationship was a puppy love/young love type of situation and El and Mike changed as people, I think they were too dependent on each other and are not in love really but have mostly an attachment to the other, they do like each other but the relationship is not working for them as they would like, Mike placed El on a pedestal too high and she's not able to make him see that she likes him as he is on her own, probably because she's not in love with him really and the writing needed to show that El doesn't make Mike feel like Will does this season- her love for Mike is not as deep as Will's love has been shown to be on screen, that doesn't mean she doesn't care about him, it's just something different!

The fact that they used the painting and made Will lie about it and even be the one that reminds Mike to make the monologue instead of making El and Mike resolve their problems is really a death sentence on Mike and El's relationship because imagine if that was happening in any other hetero couple in movies like it often does, that's a sign that the relationship is not working out if they need a 3rd person that is in love with one of them to use his own feelings to fix the problems the other is having in his relationship... That's the death of romance not a climax love confession!

I don't think Mike was lying but I think he was tricked by the feelings behind the painting in the sense that he didn't feel secure and safe enough with El to say that he loved her before Will got involved with his own feelings for Mike

That means that Mike doesn't trust El completely with his own heart to me and that there is something wrong that's stopping Mike from being completely himself with her, he's been trying to be cooler for her since they started the relationship and she started doing the same in s4 because of her own insecurities until she confronted her trauma with Brenner

I think El likes Mike but I don't think she's in love with him, I think she (not consciously) latched onto this relationship because it was a safe space for her after Hop's death and that they are both going to realize the romantic part of their relationship has to end for them to stay as close as they are now on El's side especially... I think she needs something different now and I think Mike is going to realize what he feels for Will is something deep and that's what was stopping him from committing his whole heart to El, because Mike's heart was already Will's before that without him even realizing it

So yeah even if I don't think Mike was lying about anything I think the narrative is going to end with byler endgame at this point otherwise the duffers wrote awful stuff for Mike and El without any reason

Fem Young Severus Snape - Let's discuss

So I'm working on a story on archive of our own where Severus Snape leaves Hogwarts, but it's a fem Snape and it's tagged as Snape/Sirius and James, which I'm still unsure about. I love stories where characters realise their self worth and the toxic people behind and having character growth. Fanfiction or not those stories are the best.

But I'm mostly wondering what people think young female Severus Snape would look and be like, ignoring my fanfic counterpart that I already wrote up. I will be switching between him and her for addressing canon and fanmade Snape.

Now before any Snape supporters or bashers get onto me, I'll just quickly reveal that I haven't read the books and have only watched at least 4 films, but did some research in my mid teens in curiosity. I've always been interested in the characters, their dynamics, and what if scenarios, but never the magic.

There's a lot of fanart where she's given the same hair style as her male counterpart, and honestly I believe her hair would be much longer. Long to the point where it's unusual and makes her look unhinged. Long to the point where it's too easy for someone to pull it. Most of the time using it to cover her face, unsuccessfully hiding herself from the marauders. I can imagine her eyes and face glaring creepily at anyone who disturbs her, with her nose sticking out through it. She would have a really ghostly appearance, and if you count the mudblood incident you would sense the distress, anger and sadness waving off of her. I'm also thinking of this fanart made by @iscawen.

For an obsessive personality I would take inspiration from Palm Siberia. Palm starts off as creepy but goes off to become someone we sympathise with. Not saying that you have to sympathise with Snape, but I think he's someone to pity at a logical standpoint. I'm also speaking as someone who could relate to certain parts of his character.

Her obsession with Lily has more to do with being her first and only true friend. I think Snape wants love, but that love needs to come in different forms other than romance. With the whole unpleasant parents thing, and people staying many feet away from her due to her unruly appearance, it's safe to say that Snape latches onto Lily for a reason. She wants to be appreciated, cared for, recognised for something good rather than the bad omen that the people she's stuck with think she is. And she doesn't want to be punished for being a bad omen. I guess the same could be said for canon young Snape.

I don't ship them together, and I cringe whenever I come across a fanfic that does. Not only is it fun to hate Lily, but the whole marrying your former friend's childhood bully even though he's changed is super suspicious.

With the leaving Hogwarts thing Snape would have to realise that Lily isn't the angel that her mind made her out to be, but I don't know if that's while she's at Hogwarts or after she leaves.

By this time Snape gets a makeover, none of that altering physical features stuff. Just giving her healthier hair and skin, I don't think she needs make up but I think something Goth related would suit her. The story is set in the 70s so it was more of a decade filled with punk fashion (not everywhere of course) which would suit Sirius. (Another note that isn't relevant, when the fandom gives Snape makeover stories they always change his nose to be smaller, you'll be some hating ass people). I bet Snape had a thing for formal attire so I think she'd wear something similar to Wednesday Addams. I can definitely picture her with a black pencil skirt and blouse.

Also the 70s where a different time when it comes to beauty standards compared to the ones of today, I genuinely think a lot of guys would be into her even though a lot of people in the fandom love making Snape out to be some hideous creature. I think she would resemble Shelly Duvall or Angelica Hudson.

I agree with you that the "making the girl who is rival to the mlm couple a lesbian" is a lot better than turning her into a sexist caricature but tbh it will always be somewhat funny to me that??? They sometimes don't even need to?? Like, when they have her in a wlw relationship on top of just being a lesbian. At that point, just have her be bisexual and in a relationship with a woman after her relationship with whatever guy you're pushing her away from didn't work. I'm like, not mad about it in any case, just somewhat baffled when they usually put the lesbian in a wlw relationship *anyways* (vs like having the lesbian be single but not a threat because she's gay). I do think "lesbian with comphet" is a valid headcanon though, so I'm definitely not *mad* lol. It just kind of feels like some of these fanfics believe that the wlw has to be specifically a *lesbian*, which sometimes makes me feel like they only have this attitude because of the stereotype of bisexuals being poly/a threat (as in a threat to the mlm couple they're pushing) even when they are in a committed, monogamous relationship. (To clarify nothing wrong with poly bisexuals, just that there's a stereotype about them!)

Though honestly, I don't think anything will ever top the time I read a fanfic where the author made a canon bisexual *straight* because she had to reject a girl and she couldn't have... I don't know... rejected her on the basis that she just wasn't interested in this *specific* girl, or on the basis that she was already/more interesting in the man of the m/f couple the fic had tagged for her? Bizarre behavior. Sometimes it just feels like it's rooted in biphobia is all, I suppose, which does somewhat annoy me. But yeah, it's still better than the raging misogyny you used to get (and still do sometimes! Some people hate Chiaki and Kaede because they get in the way of komahina and saiouma! It can get really annoying when I'm reading a fic with those ships and it piviots into hating on Kaede and Chiaki, like leave my girls alone!!!).

YEAH tbh i think the idea of ~one true love~ is a real disservice in fanfic because it means that instead of "yeah these two dated once but broke up, and they're both bisexual" the author feels obligated to be like no they CANT have been in a relationhip because all relationships before the main pairing must PALE IN COMPARISON. there can be no previous romantic relationships which had a strong effect on them as a person. because that wasnt ~true love~!

and so a lot of times you get this sort of incidental biphobia where its not so much that these characters Have To Be Gay/Straight, but that they Have To Have Only Ever For Real Been Interested In This One Person, which necessitates only being attracted to the one person. which, uh...sucks. this was something that got talked about a lot in the early spn days, actually, with people reducing the presence of what few women spn had and making dean gay. that luckily faded out over time, but it's still (imo) a really common thing to see in the m/m parts of fic In Addition To the "how to get the woman out of the equation" aspect.

and its also about the reduction of platonic relationships!! because surely if they arent both gay a strong relationship between a boy and a girl must be Romance TM. its the old classic Boys And Girls Cant Be Just Friends tired trope but through the lens of Progressivism TM.

anyway tldr youre absolutely right, sometimes the girls are bi!! sometimes the girls dating one of the guys is comphet but sometimes it isnt!! and despite many issues its still leagues better than a decade ago

Hi, just wanted to ask will you be watching season 4 and what were your thoughts on both portwell and r*na's development? What about all of them as characters? I personally was rooting for r*na in season 1. But after watching most of season 2, I prefer portwell and probably won't watch season 3 after the mess they made. I'd have been okay with r*na if the narrative made sense but sorry to say Gina has been a "maybe" to Ricky. She picked the guy she wanted since S1, but she seems to forget he's not really deserving of her attention at all after he's blown her off and asked her for relationship advice knowing she liked him. Like come on do better girl.

i'll answer this as briefly and structured as i possibly can but i highly doubt it lmao. possible rant ahead (?)

okay so s4... i can't say that i won't tune in because essentially, i'm a huge sofia wylie fan. i've loved her since andi mack and everything she's ever put out with disney, i've watched (plus sge). and aside from that, the s4 plot (the whole og hsm movie reunion thing/wildcats being extras on the movie) is being hyped up a lot and i'm intrigued to see how that plays out. outside of the triangle, i love kourtney, carlos, ash, jet and maddox as characters. i'd probably just scroll thru hsmtmts twitter posts/tumblr tags to see the scenes/discourse/takes and use it to determine whether i'd watch or not. i've abandoned more shows (esp ongoing ones) than i have finished so... we'll see.

if you want me to be honest, gina is the reason i shipped portwell. in s1, the only person from the core four i truly rooted for was gina. i couldn't care less about ricky, nini and ej characters and plotlines (plus their weird 'love triangle'). i wouldn't call myself a rina in s1, but i was rooting for gina's character to be more vulnerable and possibly finding romance. she's this tough girl who's never really fit in because she had to move so much and i truly sympathized with her. in that homecoming scene with ricky, i actually did feel chemistry between them. now looking back, it's probably just sofia and joshua's acting that made that scene more that it actually was. but by the end of s1, it's clear rini was that season's endgame. i mean, the main plot of s1 was ricky being in the play to get nini back. i also believe they were going to be endgame if olivia hadn't left. and before anyone says s2 was filmed before driver's license and sour blew up, i know! but just think about it: with 'all i want' doing well and blowing up on tiktok the previous year and olivia working with a producer at interscope records (not under disney) for her new album since 2020, i think she was planning to move on to music before the script was written. hence ricky and nini's plotline for a 'final' breakup.

moving on to s2... in s2, i didn't like how in 2a gina's whole storyline was crying/pining over ricky who doesn't really reach out to her after the one exercise where gina rejects him. up to 205, i understood ricky might've been conflicted and confused about gina's feelings for him, he had his relatioship with nini and his family drama to worry about. but since that whole 'plane crash' scene pretty much checks out as a confession, it just didn't make sense for ricky to act the way he did in 205. after the whole "if you and i were dating..." thing he pulled, i could not ship rina at all. all the doors i had open for them, i shut. he was so out of line and so disrespectful. he only cared about nini in that scene (while also stepping over nini's boundaries about being in the play). and c'mon, this boy at least knows gina and him are at this weird stage where they aren't purely friends and there's feelings involved. so why would he say that? now, when i saw ej and gina's scene in the same episode, they got me immediately. and it all sort of aligned with their history and personalities—overconfident, 'anti-hero', ex-scheming partners. now that i think about it, i didn't like rina before i loved portwell. and portwell? well, i think they're neat. midgame ship this, plot device that, i don't really mind. i'm thankful for their development in 2b because it was a breath of fresh air for someone who loves and roots for gina. and ej grew on me, too. in s1 he was this straight up himbo disney villain for but in s2 he was given more dimension in his character, had relatable struggles and we were shown a more vulnerable and attentive side to him. my top reason for shipping pw is the fact they started becoming better people together and they got each other because of that. the whole 'new ej' and 'gina 2.0' thing was probably a happy accident, hence why tim didn't really dig further into that. but on the other hand, they're different in a lot of ways. gina wants to settle down in one place and ej doesn't know what he wants—we even find that he wants to break free from the mold his dad wants him to be. i wish that would be something they help each other out with—he is her constant and comfort and she's the person who grounds and challenges him. instead, it becomes a point where they fail (looking at you, s3!). and whether you are a rina/pw anti, there's no denying ej treated gina like a queen in s2. portwell in 205-210 will always have me by the neck. and even though 211 and 212 makes me recoil, i personally don't blame ej for tapping out from their date with the whole 'brother' thing. just like gina, he's scared of putting himself out there to get hurt.

now, s3. i like to joke about the fact that it didn't exist but honestly? minus the triangle, it was pretty entertaining and funny. i liked maddox's character a lot in particular, she reminds me of me. i loved that kourtney has a character arc. i love ej more after watching s3, he's become one of my fav characters. now, i don't know if i'll get booed for this by the pws but i wish pw would have not been a couple while gina is still in hs. not because of the whole age gap thing (which is ridiculous), but i genuinely think they'd suit that bff-to-lovers slow burn. thank god i have tsbu because the way tsbu!pw plays out is exactly how i imagined it would be. but alas, we see portwell deteriorate in s3. and ofc it was painful to witness but less so because they felt off to me. they weren't really the s2 pw i knew and loved. trust me i don't say this bc they broke up, i say it's the lack of banter and moments of vulnerability (which they should have more of bc they're a couple here!). also the ej caswell i know would've broken the rules and took gina as a date, honestly. like, he literally gave a girl food poisoning so he can star in a show with nini. now, i do believe that gina and ej being in different phases of their lives was a good reason for their breakup, she's got 2 years of hs left and his world is getting bigger than just hs. i mean, like i said before, i wished they'd have that two-year, slow-burn best friends-to-lovers arc. my biggest problem with ej and gina's story was the execution. there were hundreds of ways to write them being right person/wrong time and they'd still mean a lot to each other etc. i'd actually be okay with them ending. but with the whole 'i can't be a maybe anymore' and 'can it really be over, if it never got the chance to start?' rubs me the wrong way. it's like tim really wanted everyone to see that ej is at fault here (despite whatever tim's saying in interviews) when he's doing all of this so his girlfriend and his friends would 1) have a great summer in this place that's really important to him and 2) have this great opportunity to be on disney+, which is a huge deal. specifically, for gina, he wanted to make a good show bc we all know how much finally being casted as a lead is important to her. ej could've just walked away, given up and let this thing fall into shambles, but he didn't. it didn't just cost him time with gina, it costed him his whole summer. it was all weird writing for me. and as for rina? firstly, i find it odd that the rinas were rooting for gina emotionally cheating on ej. even sofia said that gina's not that type of girl and she genuinely wanted her and ej to work. personally, i didn't find ricky pining for gina cute at all. ik a lot of people see it as a parallel for season 2a when gina secretly pines over ricky while he's still with nini. but the context here is different now, isn't it? gina never received a confession (or any sort of sign ricky wanted to be around her) before she got with ej. in fact, ricky was busy with lily and was close enough with her to spend summer with her and her parents in florida?? like i don't know, it just feels like ricky's feelings stemmed out of nowhere which made it seem shallow and not the epic love tim is pushing it to be. again, sofia and josh are great actors, the wdykal scene had so much chemistry but it was just that. the context/history of rina is extremely shallow to me. they needed val to say 'yup, he's genuinely heartsick' instead of just letting josh's acting show it. another thing i should mention is the instances where ricky was so passive-aggressive about ej and gina. the part where jet ran off and they needed a hans to sing liaod with anna (gina), he was going to volunteer to step in because he had feelings for her and was visibly pissed off when cordon told ej to sub for jet. and there's ricky slapping ej, which was an ick moment bc it made him seem entitled rather than badass.

lastly, that one shot of him finding out nini was at camp? "nini's here?" yeah? that one scene had more emotional fuel than ricky spending the whole two weeks max crushing on gina. it sort of set back the whole rina development, i have to say it.

speaking of nini, her sendoff wasn't as satisfying as i expected it to be. in s3, i'd prefer it if she moved to california because she got a record deal or something? since s3 was already so meta, that would've been much better than her moving out to cali because her moms wanted to. back to s1, i feel like she was your stereotypical shy, main character with the usual 'gaining confidence' arc and that arc was sort of boring and overdone for me. but in s2 i really enjoyed her branching out to songwriting and stepping side to help out others. plus, i think people skip over how awful ricky was to her as well. first, he takes a break and feels entitled to get her back and second, he genuinely started suffocating the poor girl in s2. well, at least he realized it, though. again, when people say rini was toxic, it's really just ricky. nini did nothing wrong in s1-2. i don't think the rose song was even about ricky, he just made it into something it wasn't supposed to be. i sincerely hope ricky loses this behaviour in s4.

anyway! end of rant. these are just my thoughts. if anyone agrees or disagrees, it's up to them. i genuinely hope gina is happy next season, bc before i was a pw stan i was a gina stan (even though she was a little ooc in s3). if it means rina being happy, i won't be so mad. at the end of the day, this is just a silly disney show and it’s all for entertainment. i do love portwell but i rather tim never touch them again, honestly. canon pw is already ruined for me, though i wouldn't mind a proper portwell closure scene in s4.

I'm another anon, but just wanna slide in the conversation with anon about your ask.

Idk why but since the first book until the last, i never saw ANY potential romantic interest between Damon and Will, like AT ALL, not even in Hideaway and Kill Switch. Especially not in Nightfall. Lets compare it with Kai, Banks and Rika to make it make sense. I think even Kai and Rika had more romantic potential than Damon and Will. At first, Kai was only around Rika, because she belongs to Michael, but then he came to like her around as a friend and found her sexually attractive, since Rika's mischievous personality reminded him of Banks (that he met years before Rika), or at least, to Kai, Rika was 10% of Banks, because apart from Kai feeling like he wants to protect her, and Rika loving to have fun in danger and doing taboo stuffs (which were something that he closetedly admitted he enjoyed doing), etc., Rika and Banks were still so different from the other. But still, Banks and Rika was the opposite of the other, and no woman in that town was interesting enough for Kai to chase, learn, spend on, be angry about, and savour every second of his precious time 100%, until Banks, not even Rika. Katsu even jabbed at Kai for being second because he thought Kai lose Rika to Michael, but Kai never felt a loss AT ALL, because Rika was not someone who he was interested to be in any further relationship about, but every single thing Banks did that did not give what Kai wants, he went crazy ballistic for her. His reaction to not having Banks was so different to not having Rika. Now lets compare this to Will and Damon who didn't even have any romantic interests towards each other, other than their three hookups (which they hookup a lot with others, and Damon would've hooked up with his other friends too if they let him) and their strong relationship with each other.

The fact that Damon was the closest to Will but in Will's life, he was still second to Emory after everything they've been through, was enough to answer this question. There was not even a little comtemplation about Damon and Emory's similarities in Will's mind like how Kai did with Banks and Rika, so I don't see any potential for romance between them at all. But shipping doesn't always have to be logical, as long as it "feels" great, it can happen, that's what side-pairing tags in the fandom spaces are made for.

Therefore, I think whatever "romantic potential" Damon and Will could have, were even lesser than Kai and Rika because Damon was everything that Emory was not, and Emory was THE best standard of everything in Will's life. Not even someone who was written to be a bit similar to her, like Damon (hurt-wise), Banks (personality-wise) or Alex (work ethic-wise) could ever be compared to Emory. Emory was THE only vice he couldn't get rid off. Will would only settle down with someone who makes him feel like a man, someone who lit up his passion and makes him do more and better. Damon was the opposite of that, and if they got together, Will would left feeling shitty his whole life, because that's just not someone he wants to be to himself, his parents, friends, family or to anyone. He grew up with an easy life, so for someone who already has everything in his life, only to end up with someone like Damon, a partner who just enables him in everything without giving him a reality check, he'll never grow up, and how much more boring can his life be? And there was NO boring second with Emory Scott. That's why Damon was jealous of Emory, because this is something he could never give to Will then, and definitely not even after they made up, Damon knew Will needed Em. No one else could replace her in his life. Even more so because there was no other person he was interested to be in a very serious and lifetime relationship and partnership with, except for Emory. Like Will put Emory on a Pedestal yall, (and so does Emory because he was the Only Man to make her love her life) and there really was no Other for him.

I believe this concept really applies to each DN character because as much as they are very similar to one another, there are needs and wants of theirs that they prioritise above others that they cannot get from their own friends. Be it because of different values and morality, different expectation in career choices, different enjoyment in life etc., so if these wants are not matched perfectly, they wouldn't of bat their eyelashes at others. They're the kind that go 100% for their partner. So, Damon and Will were only written to be just friends for a reason. If Damon and Will or anyone in DN had something that other characters see in them, worthy enough to be shipped with themselves rather than their current partners, the endgame wouldn't have been MichaelRika, KaiBanks, DamonWinter and WillEmory. They have different dynamics with different people too, like I see the chemistry between Damon and Emory, but does that make me see any potential romance between them? Not at all, because it's always gonna be Winter for Damon, and Will for Emory. However, fans shipping non-canon is not my business, i don't care because fans can do whatever they want, as long as they remain their views and shipping respectful towards their content creators and not cause any hate or unncessary trouble to others, especially in fan spaces.

So yeah, I think DN couples in general, no matter if each one of them have chemistry with others or not, and no matter how strong their chemistry are, non-canon pairings would still not work out because their needs and wants from their canon and current partners are not met or alligned. I feel like if people wanna ship Damon and Will, they can do whatever they want, but they have to make up something that's completely different and not canon about Damon and Will's wants in a partner, to back up their shipping to look like they're IC (in-characters) as much as possible, unless they want to make Damon and Will OOC (out of character). Writing someone else's character to be IC is pretty hard, but if they wanna use and flip something from canon and make something completely different and OOC about Damon and Will, that wouldn't be that hard, because fanfic writers do that all the time. Writers and shippers are usually just here for the vibes, not another canon-event, since this is a space for fans, not writers. So yeah, conclusion is, there are NO potential in canon by Penelope Douglas, but if anon wanted to do a 180 degrees about Damon & Will's characters, it might be possible, but then it will just water down hatever characterisations that Damon and Will have, it's like stanning completely different characters altogether.

I do multiship yes, but it depends on how comfy I am with the other writer. If I do multiship, the relationships are in different timelines. They aren’t within the same one at all. If you manage to like a character I write for but it says I am shipping them with someone already. That is only main shipping partner. I don’t mind shipping that character with others but the same rules for shipping will apply. Chemistry needs to be worked on, and the other writer needs to come talk to me about it.

Even on my carrd I know a few characters I have shipped with and my writing partner's tag but know that I am open to shipping others with those characters just it needs to be a conversation. Example though, Stella canon ship will always be with G'raha but if someone wanted to ship with her can definitely make a verse around that.

I ship only with mutuals, this is mainly a comfort thing. I need to know that I can trust someone with my muses before any sort of shipping to happen. I will state that this can change if people reach out to discuss things outside rp and even showing an interest in the ship. I have just had bad experiences myself where it felt like someone really wanted to ship with one of my characters but ended up ghosting me. I eventually found out they found someone else to write a ship with that writes the same character and that hurts.

It's just..a respect thing. If you don't want to ship with me anymore please tell me versus just ignoring my existence and acting like all the writing we did was for nothing. This is a huge reason why I am so protective over my muses in regards to romance dynamics. It's awful being made to not feel good enough and the person doesn't have guts to tell you.

23.have you ever been pushed to ship something?

I have been pushed in the sense people would just send me romantic rp starters without talking to me about the dynamic first. I know since I started writing on here that my shipping rules have relatively been the same. To communicate with me, the writer. That's like a tiny thing..I did have someone try and force a ship with multiple of my characters before. They were on different platform and kept trying flirt with each one. It seemed like they were just there to want to do shipping stuff yet didn't want to put in the effort to work on that dynamic.

I think it was mostly some of my KH muses this happened to..which I do very light fluff with them considering they are still young. Anyway, that was one experience I can recall. There was one recently where someone kept sending my Ashley romantic stuff..and that ship isn't one I will ever write for at all. It makes me uncomfortable and people need understand that she is still young and the age gap between those two is just..nope.

24.have you dropped a ship in the past? why?

I have had to drop ships in the past, it's not something I like doing and other times it wasn't even my choice. This goes back to part of my answer earlier. I get super invested into ships that I write with friends. I want to gush about them..come up with head canons, verses and thread ideas. I even sit down and make the ship a playlist..I just want feel that reciprocated. Like I stated before, I have had people end up just ghosting me. Please don't do this. I am slow at replying to stuff yes, but I do put in the effort to each thread I work on. Part of me feels like maybe they just didn't like how I wrote the character, which again I am not asking people stay if they don't want to just move on.

The only other time I dropped a ship was due to health reasons. The drama I was getting wrapped up in wasn't worth it. I was tried of trying my best write only be made feel it wasn't good enough.

35.how would your muse react to someone flirting with them?

It depends on the muse, if we are talking about Stella, she would honestly be super confused at first. It's rare for anyone to flirt with her. The only one that does is G'raha but he doesn't flirt like everyone else. He is tender with her, which she hasn't felt at all growing up in the village like she did. Anyway, if someone came up to her and called her pretty. She could feel humbled but also shocked because it's a rare occurrence.

3. The best character you've written for: This is just bait because clearly the answer here is Shisui, although that being said your Mikoto is gorgeous and amazing and I love her so much.

A fic i'm excited for you updating/posting I'm always ecstatic when I see an Until Dawn Breaks update, but I have to say I found your Arda Adventures series yesterday and both the 'Istari'!Shisui premises had me mashing the subscribe button frantically because I just love how you've worldbuilt both of them and his friendship with Aragorn and Legolas in The Red Ally, and also the language barrier frustration in The Red Istari.

10. A character/ship I didn't enjoy/think about as much before you wrote about them I'm talking about a platonic relationship here because I love platonic, although I don't know if you're planning on keeping this platonic or if there's a sneaky romance ship endgame sneaking in here - but Shisui&Kisame's dynamic in Until Dawn Breaks is phenominal and I really love how slowly you've built up the trust between them and the stage it's at now. It's definitely not a friendship I ever thought about before reading your fic but you've made it a really solid one!

13. If i've ever shared/talked about your fic to someone else No Tomorrow. It was the first of your works I ever read, when I was hungrily devouring the Shisui Lives tag on AO3 desperate for whatever I could find, and it was at a time when a friend and I were throwing all the best fics we found at each other (regardless of whether or not the other actually knew the fandom, but she already knew Naruto so that wasn't a consideration in this case). This one got thrown around a lot, especially as it was while you were still updating it so we got to go a little crazy with each other every time a new chapter dropped!

Listen I am sending this on anon and fully not expecting you to publish this, but your most recent posts. Seriously. The whole "magic" being back. And your tags on a previous post about people who didn't get the ships they want in the previous campaign. It's making me extra reluctant about a certain ship a ton of people seem to have already latched onto, because a lot of people seem to be doing it because they just want to see x and y romance each other at the table. There are some people who aren't treating it that way, but it gets exhausting to me when I see people set expectations like this so early when it's only going to disappoint them in the long run. I'm not sure if this made sense because I'm just rambling at this point, but I just agree and I'm glad you're more willing than I am to be open about it.

Yeah not much to add but same; I'm not really invested in any ships in any way this early but I am very much like...let things breathe a little? Let the group settle in? Especially if you are the sort of person whose enjoyment is going to hinge entirely on whether two characters become romantically involved.

(Funnily enough though if you're talking about the ship I think you are I actually feel that, completely unintentionally, some of the things that turned me off to the ship between the characters played by those actors in Campaign 2 are already present in the dynamic between their characters in Campaign 3, although not in the same exact way.)

Meant to ask for some time now. Scrolled through your old rwby conent and i found post about ruby x oscar and quoting "Ruby x Oscar? I think this is the first Ruby shipping I could really get into." And today we see polinated knight series. Lancaster, whiterose, ladybug but no rosegarden. Sooo, what had happend. What made you not making conent with that ship but make conent with other ships?

Honest really easy to answer.

1) Oscar is also Ozpin. Not necessarily now, but soon-ish. I really don't like the way this would have gone, at least in the terms of RWBY as a story. If it was framed differently, it would work well, but they did a lot of work building up the epic quest and team dynamics. If they had not broken the Huntsmen into teams when starting at the academy, it would work better as a single-focus teacher / student romance. If it was done as a complete rewrite, it would make a wonderful story.

2) They turned Oscar into a Mary Sue. Instead of going the wise mentor route, they turned him into an OP hero who solves every problem. There are plenty of stories that do OP heroes well, but more that do them poorly, and again, this spits in the face of the heavy focus on team dynamics that they built-up. We see RWBY and JNPR not only work together, but build up their abilities over the course of the seasons. They then sprinkled Chosen-One Oscar on top, as if doing so would turn it into a completely different dish.

3) While I initially liked the Oscar / Ruby dynamics, this was a) initial, and b) the Oscar / Ruby dynamics. As said in 1), they would have to completely reframe the story to make a romance with Ozpin make sense.

4) This was on my initial watch through. When you watch through the series more, you see a lot more subtext between the characters. you can view it as platonic or romantic, but there is deep love between RWBY and JNPR, and this goes all the way back to the earliest episodes. They started off with a deep, soul-bound friendship between Ruby and Jaune. JNPR automatically had this friendship, while we saw RWBY build this up over the first three seasons. Yang declared

as in that moment, they all knew the friendship was complete. They all felt at home in each other's presence. We then see RWBY and JNPR supporting each other through the entirety of the series, with other teams providing brief distractions. From SSSN, we see Neptune being nothing more than a shallow pretty boy whom has to be coerced into even talking to Weiss at the dance. Sun tagged along with Blake, with Blake rebuking him the entire time. The Black Sun romance was fun, until I realized that the best part about it was Kali, and not the pairing itself. They then cut Sun out of the story altogether, and I didn't miss a moment of it.

I didn't start writing the dialogues until, honestly, the disaster that was Season 6. This tends to be what happens for me with shows, I don't really take the reigns of writing until either the show has run it's course, or I feel it's run it's course.

As for the specific pairings you mentioned:

Lancaster: Ruby and Jaune were the absolute most important for each other in the early parts of the series. Jaune felt the burden of the crown, while Ruby had to force her team into stop fighting with each other and actually start working together. Jaune confided in Ruby. Ruby confided in Jaune. They did everything they could for each other.

White Rose: Despite not looking for friends, and trying to avoid friendship if at all possible, Ruby is the one to try and build a friendship with Weiss. Ruby comes out of her anti-social shell around Weiss, and Weiss alone, and Weiss learns to accept trust and affection from one-another. Truly a beautiful story.

Ladybug: Ruby is the only one in RWBY to not chastise Blake. She honestly accepts Blake as the troubled quiet girl instantly, and again does everything in her power to build friendship and trust with her, much to Blake's chagrin. She never pushes further than Blake wishes, with truly a deeply, if unspoken understanding.

Keyboard Revolutionaries- for the ExR big bang. This was such a fun collaboration with yayee (my beloved) and the format was more ambitious than my usual stuff. I have passive-aggressive baking recipes, blog posts, and Yayee's gorgeous art, which I think contributed to the fic's popularity too.

Call off the Search for Your Soul -my one and only multi-chaptered fic! It's a hallmark movie AU and I adore it. It the only fic I posted without finishing the story first and I love the comments and interactions I got, but it was so STRESSFUL. It made me realize I'd rather just finish the whole thing and post it all in one go and call it a day. My nerve can't take the roller coaster of emotions that comes with a work in progress. I don't really like reading wips either, so I made up my mind to never do a posting schedule again. It's all or nothing from me babes.

Marriage of (Con)venience- Regency romance au! My very first fic on ao3 ever. It has a special place in my heart.

I respond to all my comments! My works aren't popular enough for the comments to become overwhelming, so each comment makes me very happy and interacting with people who enjoyed my work is such a lovely bonus I didn't expect when I started writing :)

Banter? I like the push-pull dynamic and I was told my banter scenes are fun. At least they are fun for me??

Action scenes. I don't really like action movies, but some scenes require more immediate movements and a sense of dread/adrenaline rush, which I think I am tragically awful at creating.

Depends on the context? Is the speaker bilingual? Are they saying c'est la vie as an expression? Other than that I don't really see the point.

I still have a soft spot for Campaign Problems, but my favorite now is Without Complexities or Pride just because it's one of those stories that almost wrote itself. It was really satisfying to find ways to tie loose ends and progress the story in a surprising way. For me, it was one of those rare pleasures where things I made turn out better than what was in my head.

you know what, fjord/jester's always been kind of boring to me but like I'm here for it. it was that ship that was like There and I didn't hate it but I didn't love it you know, but I've been warming up to it.

This was apparently sent to me two months ago and Tumblr decided to eat the notification so I am so very sorry for how delayed the response is. I generally don’t receive messages so it’s not in my nature to check my inbox very often, but oooh buddy am I glad I did today! 

TLDR: I love Fjorjester so goddamned much and their buildup has been incredibly sweet and raw

I definitely have some feelings surrounding Fjord/Jester, and watching their progression over the last few episodes has been so wonderful for me. But I can admittedly understand where some viewers may have found the ship a bit boring to begin with? I think especially since Jester being interested in Fjord was initially portrayed as a projection of her romantic expectations due to her lack of exposure, it was easy to dismiss the ship as a whole. It was maybe something to joke about, or to hope for, especially for anyone who followed Talks and got to watch Travis adamantly (lolololol never bet against laura bailey) state that he wasn’t a D&D romance guy and that Laura wasn’t going to crack him. 

But I think that as the campaign has progressed and as we’ve seen all the growth from both characters, this relationship becoming a stable thing grew into a larger possibility. I tend to believe that some of the best relationships begin with friendships, and this one is no different. Granted, we are obviously at the very cusp of what this may be. It could be an endgame relationship, it could end in another 50 episodes, we just don’t know. But it’s lovely for me to watch the advancement of these two especially as the dynamics switched from Jester pining for something she didn’t fully understand, to her realizing that love and romance isn’t what she thought it was, to Fjord being the one to pine and being concerned that he’d lost his chance and trying to court Jester (the unicorn and the dancing and even dropping one of those smelly things in that bar {don’t remember the name}), to the culmination of their kiss and Jester realizing that maybe love is better than what she’d imagined it would be. 

It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the first real romantic interest either one of these characters has had, and I think there is something to be said for someone’s first love. There are a myriad of new feelings, and a sense of surrealness in knowing that the person you love loves you back. That kiss was a risk for both of them for different reasons, but for them to both put themselves out there and be ready to catch each other? Beautiful. I’ve mentioned somewhere in my tags that I think this relationship has the capacity to be a steady one because both of these characters have no interest in tying the other down. They’ve both experienced what it is to be caged, either literally or figuratively. They’re both eager to be free and to explore, eager to make mistakes and grow and change. How beautiful to get to experience that journey with another person who is willing to do the same. 

Then of course there’s the added layer of Travis and Laura being married, and getting to almost see them fall in love all over again? The way Laura’s breath caught when Fjord asked Jester if he could kiss her made my chest ache because I know that feeling. I know that feeling of wonder and tenderness and yearning, and since roleplaying usually has an aspect of our true selves involved, I can only imagine what the layers of that moment felt like. At the end of the day, I understand that Fjord and Jester may not be what fandom considers the most interesting ship. But I love it for its journey, and for the example that I think it sets for natural progression. I think that in D&D, and really in most forms of media, we get used to the dramatic extra passionate relationships that happen quickly and obviously and with no hesitation or vulnerability at all. I love that we’re getting something so genuine from Critical Role. Be it from Fjorjester to Beauyasha to even the friendships that are built between the characters, what we see is genuine character progression and I adore that facet so very much.

This got incredibly wordy and frankly I’m not too sure how much of it makes sense, but here you go nonnie. I hope that makes up for the two month delay.

I'll start out by confirming that I'm not a multishipper. It makes me excited to see how the act of shipping itself can make others happy, but it's just not that way for me. I actually never read fanfic until I got into bnha (bkdk is just that powerful 😁😁) I'm actually...a little serious when i ship, or when i enjoy media, i analyze pretty heavily, so also, if that doesn't sound like anyone's cup of tea, i would once again recommend to stop reading and enjoy your day please!

I love analyzing characters and storylines and dynamics, but i will admit, I'm not a fan of most of the ships - not romantically. I think all the characters have interesting relationships to each other, all of the kids are great friends, and I love bonds and friendships so much 🥺🥺🥺

Those first two are perhaps the biggest, at least they definitely were the biggest when I first entered. Once i caught up, I didn't really understand the enthusiasm, but people have fun shipping, so that's nice! I think of those two as easy ships, if that makes sense? They're pretty simple, and easy to digest.

I personally am not a fan of romantic t*d*d*ku for a very specific reason; it feels weird to me for Todo to immediately fall in love with the first person who's ever shown him kindness (since his mother of course). Todo had never had any friends, nor any want for friends, obviously because of the abuse he faced as a child. Mido was his first exploration at a life outside of his father, a life he got to make for himself, it just doesn't feel right to me that he should immediately think "oh, is this romantic love? Is this the one and only for me?" Well, perhaps a teenager might think that way, but i don't think that's actually how he feels deep down, and I'm sure that's something a lot of us have to learn as we grow (I've definitely struggled with my own understanding of romance for the past 8 years). I think he still is trying to learn how to socialize and to make friends and to be a friend (and he's doing SUCH a good job!) But to immediately plunge into romance, which can be complicated, i don't think that would be right for him. I hope that makes sense! I know they're a very cute ship, which makes for fun! But again, I can be a little serious when i ship...

K*r*b*ku kind of falls into similar territory for me? Baku definitely had friends growing up, but he's seemed to always have trouble understanding his feelings and where he stands with others, causing trust issues. Kiri is really the first person he knew where he stood with, a person for him to be comfortable with and feel on equal ground, which i think is such a huge and positive role in his life, and i don't necessarily think that it needs to be romantic - for both of these, i think these relationships are incredibly important, to everyone involved, and making them romantic doesn't make them any more important!! In fact, i feel like them as friends actually can offer a more complex, interesting, and human dynamic between these characters, as sometimes people simply default to romance and then end up pushing for the same old tropes and ignore all the intricacies Horikoshi includes in his writing.

Again, I love Mido's friendship with Todo, and I love Baku's friendship with Kiri. I think these relationships are incredibly important, and friends are incredibly important. People who ship them are having fun, which is so lovely, and i hope they continue to have fun! I hope you personally find more fics about them that make you smile and brighten your day 💖💖💖

Iz**ch*ka is a little difficult, because they certainly are cute, separately and together. I thought they were cutest before Ura was told about her potential crush on Mido, when she was simply a source of bubbly energy and positivity that helped Mido open up and feel comfortable around other people. I feel though that, romantically, it's extraordinarily one-sided, and at this point, i have to wonder if they really are "end goal." End goal for shounen, of course, is hardly ever explicit ahzovndlfjsoxo but i feel like a better storyline for Horikoshi to take would be for Ura to realize that she's been confused, and these feelings haven't really been a positive experience for her. I've definitely gone through things like that as a teenager. Now, the ship can be very cute! They're basically the same person, and they're cute and bubbly! But again, it simply isn't for me.

I think Momjirou is very cute!! Of course, as a lesbian, i sense strong lesbian vibes from Momo, and strong bi vibes from Jirou, and I also saw the ship potential ever since the USJ attack - which i think, so did everyone else ahaovndofjsojfsk they're best friends without a doubt, though i have to say, i really like Kamijirou. She just makes him so soft, and he's so in awe of her, and she thinks he's so funny, I love how supportive he is of her, especially since she can be really insecure 🥺🥺🥺

I also think Ura and Tsu are very cute but another easy ship, and i kind of really like Ochamina 🥺 they're both pink and space themed, they're bubbly and energetic and kick ass, and i think they'd be super cute...

I saved todobaku for last, because, you know what they say, best for last! 😇😇😇

I've said it before, but if there was no Mido (impossible obviously, and i would never want that) then todobaku is where my heart would lie. Baku has never really been shown chasing after anyone except for Mido...and Todo, which really gets at my heart. There's a grudging respect there - very, very grudging ahakckdkfjskdk which i find very appealing! Todo is very important to Baku and he has also been able to show Baku some things about himself that he needed to question and reevaluate. Meanwhile, Todo puts up with exactly 0% of Baku's shit, which i find absolutely hilarious. It's funny to me how Baku wishes to intimidate Todo as he does everyone else, and Todo simply does not care. And Baku wants to be mad, and ends up mad that he can't be mad since Todo is a strong and worthy opponent. They just have such an interesting chemistry, there's so much friction, so much tension, and I enjoy it, particularly since they clearly should be friends, would be great friends, want to be friends, but Baku simply won't get over it 😂😂 I do prefer them as friends, but friends that are incredibly close, two people that understand each other on almost a telepathic level, two people that give each other shit while also refusing to take the other's shit.

I do agree that many people in this fandom seem to think their ship stands on some moral high ground? It could be a disconnect from the previous generations of fandom, or it could also be the growing mentality on this site that everything needs to be a battle of moral superiority, and also that what you like is part of your personality, and if someone doesn't like what you like, then they don't like you or that they think you're factually incorrect. I personally have stopped going into the bn/ha tag simply because I don't enjoy, well, many things i find there, and I'm happy with those that i follow. I've definitely seen hatred and invalidation for both LGBT ships and m|w ships, neither of which I'm comfortable with. I definitely don't go off tumblr for fandom stuff because there's practically no acceptance for any same gender ships, or any queer headcanoning, which, I'll be honest, makes me scared, as i am a very anxious person avdkvndkfje i do think it should be noted that we should be as accepting of cishet ships as we are of queer ships - no debate on this one - but again, you are right when you say that many cishet headcanons have been used to invalidate LGBT voices, and any and all allies must always be aware of this! It is much more often that queer voices are silenced, that queer ships are ridiculed, that queer shippers aren't allowed to enjoy or see themselves. And to anybody that doesn't want to be an ally... I haven't really read much of anything recently, let alone other ships, platonic or otherwise, because energy has been low for me for a long time. I wish i could participate more and support all my friends and other fans, but it's been a bit of a struggle 😣😣😣 I'm so sorry!
