Just thinking about how Robin plays soccer in Rebel Robin and is genuinely invested in the basketball game during season 4. Steve and Robin totally love watching sports together.

Now, Robin does have a hard time paying attention to a whole game unless she’s watching in person, it’s a high stakes game, or she’s watching with a person/group who are deeply invested in the game so it’s not like watching a game is as regular an occurrence as movie night or something, but it is still one of their favorite things to do together.

When they’re at a game in person then it literally doesn’t matter what sport it is, they’re both invested. If it’s a team/sport they’re particularly invested in Steve will convince Robin to go all out with merch and noise makers and everything. He’s never able to get her to wear face paint though because she hates how it feels on her skin. Though she does often color coordinate her eye shadow and whatever other makeup she might be wearing with the team colors, like she did in the show. The only exception was for Lucas’ last basketball game in his senior year, painting his number on her cheek for that game was worth the itchy stickiness.

Robin’s favorite sport to watch is soccer and basketball was already her second favorite sport to watch but her friendship with Steve made her like it even more. While Steve does prefer actually swimming to playing basketball, he does enjoy watching basketball a lot more than he enjoys watching swimming sports. It took a bit of time, but between Robin’s running commentary during games, her teaching him how to play, and how passionate she gets while watching it, soccer does become his second favorite sport to watch.

For a little while they worked a concessions booth at an ice skating rink and were both super intensely into hockey but their interest mostly faded after getting fired (there was an incident with the zamboni, don’t ask). Dustin was excited that they were finally more interested in the one sport that he had any interest in at all.

They do often invite the whole party over to watch games with them but it usually just ends up being Lucas, Dustin, Erica, Max and sometimes Hopper who come. Nancy will also randomly show up from time to time but it’s rare. Erica’s usually either reading a magazine/doing homework/whatever or purposefully cheering for the opposing team just to rile the others up (Max finds this hilarious and often joins in and Dustin also joins in when he’s feeling particularly bored by whatever game they’re watching and he doesn’t have his own personal project he’s working on). Dustin and Erica really only come to hang out except Dustin does actually enjoy watching hockey. They often end up with a full house when they watch baseball games because Jonathan and Will actually do love baseball which means Argyle and Mike are coming as well and between both Jonathan and Mike being there Nancy’s almost for sure to be there as well. There’s also a 50/50 chance that Joyce and El show up to watch baseball as well but sometimes they use that time to have a “girls day”. Max often joins them for these instead of watching the game with everyone else. For really big events like the Super Bowl, the World Series, and the World Cup Steve and Robin will also invite their non-party friends over and it becomes a huge thing (it’s always a mixed bag of who in the party shows up for these ones. Except Hopper always comes to watch The World Series and the Super Bowl).

Both Steve and Robin love analyzing and discussing the statistics of any and every sport. It’s the one time that Steve is really good at math and the one time Robin is as passionate about numbers as she is about language, because sports statistics really is like it’s own language. They’re basically qualified to have their own sports analysis show on ESPN. Hopper also loves to talk sports statistics but he’s really only able to keep up with them when it comes to (American) football. Jonathan and Will also love to talk statistics with Steve and Robin when it comes to baseball and Will is actually better at understanding and analyzing baseball statistics than Steve and Robin are. Talking numbers is the only sure fire way to get Dustin interested in a game other than hockey, and even Mike and Nancy listen in on these conversations. Lucas is Steve and Robin’s statistics protege. He sees it as a way that he’s able to combine two important aspects of his personality that often feel like they’re inherently conflicting when really there are no sides, it’s all just Lucas. Erica’s ears always perk up when Steve and Robin are having a discussion about sports stats, though she usually tunes them out after a few minutes unless it’s actually about a sport she’s interested in. Steve and Robin are so good at analyzing stats that any time they agree on the most likely outcome of a game there’s roughly a 75% chance of them being correct. Robin is ashamed to admit that when she first found out about Steve’s affinity for sports stats there was a little part of her that was surprised. Anytime Steve begins to doubt his intelligence and feels insecure about it, Robin will either start a discussion about sorts stats or remind him how good he is at noticing patterns and predicting the outcome of games, and even seasons.

I don’t know when people started doing fantasy football or March Madness, but you better believe that these two competitive, sports stats geniuses dominate every single year.

Max is the one who introduces Steve and Robin to sports like the x-games, bmx racing, etc. Steve and Robin do generally prefer watching team sports with at least partial contact, but Max’s passion convinced them to give it a shot and they are surprised by how exciting it is. They still really only watch these sports when Max instigates it, but Steve does use his parents money to buy a couple of bmx bikes and atv’s that they take turns giving Max rides on.

Of course, every Olympics Steve and Robin get super invested in both their usual sports, and really random sports. One year they were super into curling. They got into handball one summer Olympics. They found out everything there is to know about all the different styles of fencing during another. They always end up wrapped up in figure skating and have really big talk about how those skaters are lucky that Steve and Robin didn’t get into ice skating as kids because they definitely would’ve been the best ice skating team out there, no contest (side note, platonic stobin ice skating au anyone? Their journey to the Olympics). One summer Olympics convinced them to take a beginner gymnastics course. It did not go well for either of them. Though Robin is proud of how well she kept up with Steve. Name a sport in the Olympics and Steve and Robin definitely went through a phase where they were weirdly obsessed with it and learned everything there is to know about it over night. They try to avoid watching Russia compete because there’s always a chance that it will bring back painful memories.

Sadly neither of them can bring themselves to watch fighting sorts like boxing, mma, etc. Robin’s mind becomes overwhelmed with all of the possible injuries the fighters could be sustaining with every blow and worrying about the long term effects on their health and just can’t stop overthinking the whole time. Steve just gets too many flashbacks to all the fights he lost and especially being tortured.

They also both hate watching golf but they do take a surprising amount of joy in visiting driving ranges. Robin always borrows some of Steve’s preppy clothes when they go so they’re in complimentary polos and khaki pants at the range. Robin also always beats Steve whenever they go mini-golfing, though Steve is slowly getting better. Yes, they do sometimes go to the driving range with Jonathan and Argyle. Yes, this does also mean that Jonathan and Argyle sometimes goes mini-golfing with them.

As much as they do sincerely enjoy watching these sports, what it’s really about is that this is yet another way that Steve and Robin understand each other and are able to communicate through and bond over.

Pavitr is so real because how can any of the other spider-people get all of that hair under that tiny, skintight mask so easily??

i feel like what some of y'all don't understand is that by making Buck's bi arc, specifically his coming out to Eddie, all about Buddie, you're not just taking away the significance for Buck, you're also taking away the significance for RYAN. Ryan, and even Oliver, have talked about how part of the reason this story is so important to him (Ryan) is because of what Ryan went through with his friend coming out to him. That the reason he loves this story is because he wants to show that two masculine men can have a close intimate friendship, and even when one of them is attracted to men, it doesn't make the straight one uncomfortable. He wants to show that even though coming out to your straight friend can be scary, it doesn't and shouldn't have to be, and a good friend won't care, and will still be comfortable being friends, talking about their love lives, and even hugging. This arc does so much, not just for bi or bi men rep, but also for close male friendships rep, and by making it all about buddie, you take away a lot of that.

I've mentioned this idea before on my blog, but I've decided to properly introduce you to my Resurrection AU!

The basic idea is that as Kirby and co. are returning from the New World post-Forgotten Land, they start to get reports of people coming back from the dead!

The Characters:

She's trying make it up to everybody she's hurt, especially Taranza, which is going to be a long and arduous process for her. She's determined to try and make things right, though.

In his search for ancient knowledge, Void enlists the help of Magolor, who's agreed to help him out and house him in exchange for a little help with his theme park.

Elfilin's staying with Kirby in Dream Land while he recuperates from everything. Much to his chagrin, Fecto Forgo is staying in Elfilin's head. These two have to figure everything out between them while adjusting to "normal" life.

Other characters are also relevant, of course.

This AU's nowhere close to being fully fleshed out. I've got bullet points for the main plot, but that's about it for now. I'll develop it more eventually. In the meantime, please feel free to send me questions or thoughts you have about this!

our cat broke his hip on christmas

i made posts earlier as this was happening, but now that i've heard back from enough vets to get an idea of how steep this is going to be, i can't not ask for help.

its cheesy to say, but my cats are my everything. mordred, especially, spends his days basically glued to my side. he's my little shadow, and i don't know where i'd be without him.

when he woke me up to feed him at 6am on christmas morning, he was completely fine. i went back to sleep after, and when i woke up for real at 8, he was limp on the ground. when we went to move him, he howled and thrashed like we were torturing him. he ran, and we saw he wasn't using his right back leg.

many tears and an anxiety riddled 4 hour wait for our emergency vet appointment later, we were told he had a right capital physeal fracture, which basically means he snapped the ball bit of the ball joint in his hip. the vet said the best option for him is a femoral head and neck ostectomy (FHO), which'll take the broke bit of his bone out and the scar tissue will sort of just grow in the right way to replace his missing joint (cats are so weird)

its the cheapest option, and its the one with the best success rate, which is super lucky. unfortunately, its still expensive as fuck.

weve been quoted anywhere between 3.5k and 8k by vets i've contacted so far, and most need at least half as a downpayment before they'll operate. it'd take us years to cover the full cost by ourselves. so we've got to break out the big guns - a full gofundme, which will be shared with basically everyone we know, and hopefully far past that as well. carecredit can only cover so much for us, and our immediate family can't afford to lend us much. the internet is our only hope for meeting the full cost and getting mordred better

mordred's the light of my life and i can't stand to see him in pain like this. anything helps. if youre not in a financial state where you can donate, spreading the word is just as important and just as deeply appreciated.
