Anyways, the piece you see up there is a remake of one I did last year for the same reason.
I've improved a lot, I think! I'm happy that I was able to get Star Dream more on-model and more animated in the new one, and I think my backgrounds have improved a lot, too.

Another thing about these specific drawings is that they inspired part of an animatic I wanted to do last summer that didn't end up working out. You can take a look at what I ended up finishing here, but I didn't get anywhere near this part.
The animatic would've followed Taranza after the events of Triple Deluxe, and then cover the events in Star Allies, and then show him making friends and being happy. After that, we'd see him trying to bring Sectonia back and then getting to talk to her, like in Blossom, and then he'd fight Morpho Knight and then the animatic would end.
The project didn't pan out for a variety of reasons that I covered in the YouTube upload description. To summarize, it was under-cooked and overly-ambitious. About half a year after I dropped this, I took some of the more cohesive ideas and reworked them into Blossom, my most recent animatic. I think it turned out well.

5. How would you describe your art style?
This is a tricky one! I find it hard to pin down my art style, it's very loose and I'm always trying to evolve it. A comment I've gotten on it that made me smile was that my art style is reminiscent of the ":]" emoticon.
I think my most obvious style thing is the black lineart with the gaps I do. There's absolutely zero intentionality behind the gaps -- it's just the most natural way for me to do lines lol. I've also been experimenting with slightly colored lineart recently.
19. Where do you find inspiration?
I'm inspired a lot by music I listen to! There are a good number of drawings I've made that've just been inspired by like a song off a Kirby OST. Here's a few good examples.
Another big source of inspiration for me is my friends. Mega-talented genius-brain artists. Always eating their stuff up so nice.
#i've noticed my lines and stuff are a lot smoother and rounder now that i've got the tablet. that makes sense.#working on that drawing remake i posted today has really given me perspective on how much my art has shifted and improved#you can really TELL that two years have passed since the first version and today's version lol.#i'm proud of how far i've come :)

24. What's a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?
It makes me super happy whenever someone mentions that they like my take on any character I draw off-model lol. I'm a little insecure in how I draw certain things and it's nice to hear people say that I'm doing alright.

14: What's your favorite thing about drawing?
I think it's, thumbnailing, doing the sketches, and working on the composition! I feel like this is the most "creative" stage of the art process; the decisions you make on it are super impactful to the final piece. I generally only do one or two thumbnails for a piece, but I do a ton of tweaks to those before I start the proper linework.
15. Least favorite thing about drawing?
Blocking in the color under the line art before proper coloring starts.
Very boring process that I only really have to do because of how I do my line art with gaps. I do a bunch of different layers of this so it's easy to color in the lines later.
