Text
ok so in the show i’m crewing right now with the theater i work for, one of our out-of-company actors that was hired is an ambulatory wheelchair user and she’s incredible and the theater and management have made it this whole production to try an accommodate her needs through the process. Which is wonderful!
But on the part of the the theater it comes of as so disingenuous to me (especially with the way they’ve been publicizing it on social media), knowing that i spent last semester crying after every rehearsal due to the way my disability was treated and i was considering quitting theater altogether. and even going into this production the way i’ve been treated has been subpar. and it makes me so angry but i can’t talk to anyone i know about it because i dont want them to think im bashing the actor when im really just pissed at theater management.
#i think part of the problem is i’m a university fed hire#while the actor was hired out of company as freelance#and so for me it’s just another nail in the coffin about the way this theater treats their student workers#but like i was hired for two positions in this show. and i was (not gracefully) fired from one of the positions#so i could ‘focus on my other position’ and not strain my disability too much#obviously this was decided without any input from me#the stage manager who was making me cry last semester and spreading very personal information about my disability#was out of company hired as well and she is not invited back for many reasons#but when i made my complaint about the way she was treating my disability i got a ‘we’ll talk about it tomorrow and im sorry that’s happen’#only for it to never be discussed until the following semester after the show had ended#and i received a ‘we’re going to try and do better than the last show where details of your vulnerable medical episodes were shared without#your consent’#i love this actress and disability solidarity all the way#but i’m frustrated with the fact that she’s getting accommodations i could never dream of getting#while i’m still being told that my disability is too inconvenient for some jobs#we’re the only two mobility aid users to work for this theater and i’m baffled by the different reception between the two of us#i’m just so. tired. of being treated like a liability#and watching someone else be treated great by people who’ve stomped on me makes me want to never work in theater ever again

“I need a favor.”
“From me?”
Seonghwa tongues his cheek and looks around. “Is there anyone else in the room?”
You scoff. You aren’t friends with Park Seonghwa. You don’t even particularly like Park Seonghwa. You know the feeling’s mutual so why was he asking you for a favor?
“If you want something from me you should try being a little nicer,” you mutter, turning your attention back to the textbook on the desk in front of you.
You hear Seonghwa sigh beside you before he tries again. “Sorry, yes, I need a favor from you. I need a date to this event Dr. Harvey is hosting for all of his graduate mentees next weekend.”
Date? You? Your face must be scrunched up into an expression of confusion and concern because Seonghwa puts his hand out to stop you before you interject.
“Yes, it has to be you. I-I’m trying to secure a position on his research team next semester and I need an extra edge.”
You raise an eyebrow. “And I’m the extra edge?”
“Exactly! Dr. Harvey loves you. If I show up with you on my arm, the spot is mine for sure.”
“You really think it’ll be that easy? I haven’t taken one of Dr. Harvey’s classes since undergrad.”
You’re not even a student in Seonghwa’s program, the one Dr. Harvey was the head of. There just happened to be some overlap between your field of study and his that required you to take some of the same courses.
“But you were his TA last semester, and you’re the top student in the department, after me-” you have to fight the urge to roll your eyes, “he brings you up in almost every meeting we have,” he continues, sounding more than a little annoyed, “when we’re supposed to be talking about my dissertation.”
Despite the non-case Seonghwa was making on his behalf, you couldn’t help but feel a little curious. “He does? What does he say?’
“Usually, it’s little comments about how you would do something differently, which is not-so-subtle code for better. If you ever decide to write a dissertation on microbiology, let him know. I’m sure he’d love to be your mentor-” Seonghwa stops himself there, taking a deep breath as if to physically shake the bitterness from his demeanor. “Sorry. The point is that he thinks very highly of you and it would really help me out if you were my plus-one to this thing.”
“And what exactly does ‘this thing’ entail?”
“It’s a little appreciation banquet for all of the students he’s mentoring. He said it’s at this hotel, I think it’s downtown, and it’s a dinner and drinks in the evening and a brunch the next morning-”
“Wait, it’s overnight?” You hadn’t meant or intended to interrupt him but the prospect of spending the night in the same room with Park Seonghwa was enough to make you panic and forget your manners.
Seonghwa looks annoyed that you cut him off but holds himself back from responding with something snippy. Instead, he lets it go. Unheard of for him.
“Yes, but it’s just one night.”
“One night?” He nods. “And I just have to show up with you?”
“Well, you’d pretend to be my girlfriend. ”
Right. That had sort of been implied when he asked but you were hoping that wasn’t the case. It honestly sounded like a nightmare, but the idea of having something to hold over Seonghwa’s head was tempting.
Doing him the favor was one thing. The execution of said favor was another. Were you going to be able to put on a believable act as Seonghwa’s girlfriend? It certainly wasn’t going to come naturally to you... but you were friends with a bunch of theatre kids. You could pull it off. Probably.
“Okay, well, what’s in it for me?” you ask.
He blinks, clearly caught off guard by your question like he hadn’t expected to get this far.
“What do you want?”
Oh fuck. You scramble to think of something worthwhile that he could be of use for, coming up short in pretty much all aspects.
“My dad’s getting married in a couple of months. Our little duet can have an encore then.”
Seonghwa grins and offers his hand for you to shake. “Send me the details. Pleasure doing business.”
-
It isn’t until Seonghwa’s already left the classroom that he realizes he doesn’t even have your number. He’s known you for years now but has never had to contact you outside of the context of school. Never had reason to. He could turn around right now and go back and ask for your phone number. You’re still in there.
He lets his pride get the better of him, and with a quiet groan, he shoves his hands in his pockets and keeps walking. He’ll just email you later to ask for it.
-
You iron out the details over text, once Seonghwa finally gets your number. You had made fun of him in your reply email for forgetting to get it back when he begged you to come with him in the first place, which only reassured Seonghwa that he had made the right choice that day. It would’ve been way more embarrassing to have you say that to his face.
He asks you to meet him at a cafe the day before the event so you can iron out your story together. You look nervous, he notes, so he tries to break the ice.
“Thank you for agreeing to meet here. I would’ve had you over to my place, but my roommates are kind of obnoxious.”
“That’s okay. Thanks for the coffee.” You gesture with your cup, shaking the ice around before taking a tentative sip.
“Least I could do, considering.”
You shrug. “You’re already repaying me by going to my dad’s wedding with me, but I’m not one to turn down free coffee.”
“Fair enough.” He clears his throat. “So, how’d we fall in love?”
-
Seonghwa picks you up at five pm on Saturday. He makes some comment about you looking nice that you don’t really believe he means, but you return the compliment anyway. He does look good. Annoyingly so. He had told you it was a formal event but you hadn’t expected him to show up in a fucking three-piece suit.
His hair is slicked back on the side to show off his undercut, and wire-rimmed glasses sit on the bridge of his nose, the reflection of traffic lights and street lamps shining in the lenses. It’s a little intimidating to be on his arm for the night when he looks like that, not that you didn’t also dress for the occasion, he just... looks so sharp.
“Do you have everything you need?” he asks as you climb into the passenger seat. “Pajamas? Toothbrush?”
“I think so.”
“If you forget something we can probably grab it at the kiosk they have in the lobby,” he assures you.
You groan. “Yeah, but we’ll have to pay a small fortune for it.”
“That’s the price of convenience.” He puts the car in drive and navigates out of your apartment complex’s parking lot onto the main road. “You can pick the music,” he offers after a moment of silence.
“But you’re the one driving.”
“Is that a rule?”
“Yeah, the driver picks the music. Have you never heard of that before?”
He shakes his head but hums thoughtfully. “No, but I don’t mind. I’m not picky.”
“Shocking,” you mutter under your breath.
“What was that?”
“Nothing.”
You plug the aux into the lightning port on your phone and scroll through your playlist until you land on something you deem to be neutral enough to play in the background. You can feel Seonghwa watching you out of the corner of his eye but you willfully ignore it.
“Do you remember the story?”
You nod. “We only got together officially a couple of months ago. You asked me out by waiting outside the door of one of my classes last semester-”
“Which class?”
“Um...” you frowned, trying to remember.
“It was pharmacology.”
“Right. Sorry.”
“Just be sure to remember that.”
“I don’t think anyone is going to be interrogating us about our relationship,” you scoff.
Seonghwa takes a deep breath. “You’re right, I’m sorry. This is just important to me and it needs to be believable. If anyone were to find out that I tried to pull this shit off just to get on Harvey’s good side... I don’t even know what would happen to me. Like, would I get expelled? I definitely wouldn’t get the position, I-”
“Woah,” you cut him off before he can spiral any further, “we... don’t have to do this. You can drop me off back at my apartment and pretend like it never happened. I won’t make you go to the wedding...”
“No, no I need you,” Seonghwa insists, panicked. “It just... didn’t occur to me how stupid this idea was until now.”
“If you think it’s a bad idea we shouldn’t do it,” you reason.
“It is a bad idea,” he agrees, “but I don’t know what else to do. Jung Wooyoung is vying for the same spot and he’s way more likable than me.”
“That’s not true, he’s just more of a kiss-ass.”
“Same thing. Either way, I already told them I was bringing a plus-one so I can’t show up without you.”
You nod, holding back from suggesting other alternatives. Seonghwa seemed resolute on going through with it and it wouldn’t do any good to try and convince him otherwise. He was like you in that way. Stubborn to a fault. Trying to “fix” the problem would only start an argument and that was the last thing you needed right now. So you let it go, and it only killed you on the inside a little bit.
-
Seonghwa checks into your room as soon as you get to the hotel. Since it’s late in the afternoon, it’s already ready, and you go up to drop off your things before navigating to the ballroom together.
You try to ignore the single king-size bed in the middle of the room but it’s like it’s glaring right at you, taunting you in the reflection of the vanity mirror as you reapply your lipgloss. If Seonghwa notices your apprehension about it he doesn’t say anything.
“We don’t have to go over the top,” Seonghwa reminds you in the elevator. “You don’t have to kiss me or be super touchy if you don’t want to. Some hand holding and familiarity should do it.”
“Are you sure?”
He smirks at you. “I mean, if you want to kiss me, you’re more than welcome to. But it wasn’t part of our agreement.”
You stare at him. He had never said anything like that to you before. It felt like it had come out of nowhere. The smirk falls when he sees your reaction and he side steps away from you, clearing his throat awkwardly.
“Sorry, I was, uh, I was kidding. It was, I wasn’t-”
The elevator dings to signal its arrival on the first floor before Seonghwa can finish whatever excuse he was stuttering through. He motions for you to exit first, putting his arm in front of the door to keep it from closing. When you turn back to look at him, he’s all calm and collected again like nothing even happened. The only evidence of ruffled feathers was the pressed set of his lips and the pink tinge of his cheeks.
“Ready?” he asks, straightening his tie.
“As I’ll ever be.”
He offers his hand to you and you take it, entwining your fingers with his. His thumb finds the back of your hand and draws absentminded circles. You’re not sure if it’s supposed to be comforting but it is.
There are already a few people mingling when you and Seonghwa make it to the ballroom. You don’t recognize any of them but that was to be expected. Seonghwa had said that it was an intimate event, just Dr. Harvey, his mentees, and their potential plus-ones. Not everyone is here yet from what you can tell. You can’t hear Jung Wooyoung’s loud voice echoing throughout the hall so you figure he must be one of the late ones.
The way the room is decorated reminds you a bit of Christmas with the opulent chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the ivy garlands laid across the tables. All that's missing are the trees wrapped in lights and potted poinsettias in every corner.
Dr. Harvey is in the middle of a conversation with a couple of other students when he spots the two of you. He excuses himself and approaches you with a smile.
“I’m glad that you both could make it!” he says, greeting you with a hug.
He hugs your fake boyfriend next and claps him firmly on the back. Seonghwa coughs at the unexpected hit but plays it off easily with a chuckle.
“When Park told me he was bringing you, I thought he was kidding. I couldn’t believe he finally got the guts to ask you out.”
Seonghwa stiffens next to you but keeps the smile plastered on his face. You, on the other hand, can’t mask your surprise.
“What do you mean?” you press.
“Oh, just that I sort of wondered if you kids would get together,” he explains. “You used to argue in my class all the time as undergraduates, but whenever we had group activities you would pair up anyway.”
“That’s because we didn’t trust anyone else with the work,” Seonghwa points out.
You squeeze his hand urgently, trying to tell him to shut the fuck up before he ruins his chances with his big mouth. Thankfully, he seems to get the message and relaxes a little but you can tell he still wants to protest.
“You didn’t even trust each other with the work,” the professor corrects. “You would bicker about every little thing under your breath when you thought I couldn’t hear even though you always sat in the front of the classroom.”
“I guess we are a little competitive,” you admit with a grin, looking up at Seonghwa with what you hope comes across as affection.
“That’s an understatement, my love,” he agrees.
“Well, it’s nice to see that you’ve been able to turn that energy into something positive,” Dr. Harvey says. “What changed?”
“Well, we’d been seeing each other for a while and finally decided to make it official,” Seonghwa muses.
And by ‘seeing each other’ he meant fucking. When you decided on your story that day in the cafe, Seonghwa had said it would make the most sense if your fake relationship budded from a friends-with-benefits thing- or acquaintances with benefits, whatever the two of you were. But of course, you couldn’t tell your professor that so you had to more so imply it by talking around the subject.
“Well, I hope that you being together means I’ll get to see more of your face. Park, you need to bring your girlfriend around the department some time. I’m sure the other faculty miss you too.”
Seonghwa nods. “I’ll be sure to do that, sir.”
“Great! I think some more people are starting to trickle in so I should go say hello, but please help yourselves to drinks while we wait for dinner.”
You both thank him and wait before saying anything else to each other.
“I think that went okay,” Seonghwa sighs.
“Could’ve been worse,” you agree.
He takes a quick look around before turning back to you. “Do you want something to drink, baby?”
“God, yes.”
At the bar, Seonghwa orders you both a glass of wine. It’s an open bar but there’s a little fish bowl for tips balanced on the edge of the counter so he deposits a couple of bills in it as he thanks the bartender.
He holds one of the glasses out to you with a half-smile. “Cheers.”
“To getting through the night,” you propose.
“To getting through the night.”
-
Dinner is a choice between a chicken pasta dish, a beef and potatoes dish, and ratatouille that could be made vegan upon request.
“Does the pesto have pine nuts in it?” Seonghwa asks the server when he reaches your end of the table.
“No, all of our options tonight are nut-free,” he replies.
“Perfect, thank you. Did you want the pasta, then, baby?”
“I- yes please.”
“And I’ll get the beef and we can share.”
“Sounds good,” the server says as he jots down your orders on his little notepad.
You wait until he moves on to the next guest before leaning over to your date and whispering “I can’t believe you remembered.”
“Hm?”
“You remembered... I’m allergic to tree nuts.”
He shrugs like it’s no big deal and murmurs, “you almost dying in the middle of chem lab our freshman year is pretty hard to forget.”
He had a point. Still, you were surprised he remembered the girl that collapsed to the floor and had to be stabbed in the thigh with an EpiPen all those years ago as you. You’re not sure if you’d remember the details so clearly if it were the other way around.
All of the dishes were pre-prepared by the hotel’s event catering staff so they were served almost immediately after the orders were taken.
Dr. Harvey led the conversation, engaging each of his students about their studies and personal lives. He was even sure to include the plus ones at the table, making an effort to get to know them as well. That was why Dr. Harvey had been one of your favorite professors, why you’d agreed to TA for him when he asked. He genuinely cared about his students, wanted them to succeed and was willing to go the extra mile to help them do so. You still remember crying in his office over a failed lab report, remember how he had patiently walked you through what you’d done wrong until it finally clicked for you, how he ended up giving you half of the credit you missed back just for following up and showing how dedicated you were to learning the material.
Even now as he listens to his mentees talk about everything under the sun, he doesn’t want anyone to feel left out.
A hand on your thigh startles you out of your zoning out. You had been trying your best to pay attention but it’s just so hard to stay attentive when Wooyoung opens his mouth. He’s been talking about algae for what you estimate to be the past twelve minutes- so in your defense, you never stood a chance anyway.
“Do you want another glass of wine?” Seonghwa asks, low enough for only you to hear.
You hadn’t even realized you’d finished your first one. It had probably happened sometime in the middle of Wooyung’s rambling.
“Yes please.”
“Okay, be right back.”
He stands from the table and takes both yours and his empty glasses in one hand, using the other to push his chair back in. Thankfully, he’s back before you can be cornered by the others at the table. You can feel it, the curiosity your presence invokes from your peers. You only recognize a few of them but all of the sideways glances make you wonder how many of them suspect why you’re really here. Maybe you’re being paranoid. Maybe they’re just surprised Seonghwa managed to pull anyone at all... no, that couldn’t be it. He’s too hot, his personality alone wouldn’t be enough to deter anyone from going out with him.
“What’s wrong?”
You take a sip from your newly refilled glass of wine and try to play it off. “Hm? What do you mean?”
“You’re making a face.”
“What face? This is just my face.”
“No, you’ve got that wrinkle in between your eyebrows. You’re worrying about something. What is it?”
You sigh and lean over to whisper in his ear. “I feel like your... friends think it’s weird that I’m here.”
“These people aren’t my friends.”
“I know. I didn’t know what else to call them- is that really the part of what I said that you think is important?”
“Why do you think they think it’s weird?”
“I don’t know, I just keep noticing everyone looking at me.”
“It’s probably because you’re pretty,” he suggests, which makes you want to change the subject entirely.
He thinks you’re pretty? Does he think you’re pretty or does he think other people think you’re pretty? What would possess him to say something like that?
“That- no, it’s not that.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Because I know what a dirty look is and I’ve been getting a lot of them. Do you think they’re onto us?”
Seonghwa makes a displeased sound in the back of his throat. “I don’t know. Maybe I underestimated the number of people applying for the same position as me.”
“Maybe, and maybe they know we haven’t always gotten along and are suspicious of why this is the first they’re hearing of us dating.”
“I guess we need to turn it up, then,” Seonghwa muses under his breath.
“Wha- that’s not what I-”
-
After dinner, there’s a bit of mingling. You get the opportunity to formally introduce yourself to the guests you’ve never met before and answer the burning question on everyone’s mind as to why you’re there in the first place.
Seonghwa’s hand is warm on the small of your back, making you wish you had decided against wearing a backless dress. Although, you suspect you still would have been able to feel the heat of his palm through the silk had it offered more coverage.
“Didn’t think you had it in you, Park,” Hongjoong, you thought his name was, says as he wraps an arm around his own date. In her heels, she’s taller than him by an inch or so, and somehow it only makes the man more intimidating. “Thought you were too busy for dating, or was that just an excuse?”
“I am busy. But when you meet the right person, you make time. You of all people should know that.”
Hongjoong narrows his eyes almost imperceptibly and grins. “You’re right, we’re all fools for love, aren’t we?”
“It certainly seems that way.”
Seonghwa and Hongjoong continue exchanging semi-polite small talk until the latter’s date tugs him away, mumbling something about needing another drink.
“I didn’t realize you were so popular,” you say under your breath once the two are out of earshot.
“Yeah, you’re not the only one who hates me,” he mutters.
“And here I thought we had something special.”
Seonghwa gives you a half-smile. “Sorry to break it to you like this.”
“For what it’s worth, I don’t hate you,” you clarify, voice lowered.
He can’t hide his surprise as his eyes widen. “Wait, really?”
You nod. “I wouldn’t lie about something like that.”
He straightens up a bit, stiffening, and you wonder if you’ve said something wrong. “Good to know.”
You each have another drink before the night ends. Champagne is served with dessert and Dr. Harvey proposes a toast to all of his students once everyone’s gathered around the table again.
You clink your glass to Seonghwa’s and take a sip. The bubbles soothe your throat, making the lies you’ve been telling all night easier to swallow.
You’re not drunk, you haven’t had that much to drink, but the alcohol is definitely making you feel lighter. People have started filtering out of the ballroom to go to their rooms but a few linger a little longer, taking advantage of the free booze and relaxed atmosphere. Your professor flits between the remaining students, continuing conversations that had been cut short during or before dinner.
Soft music is playing over the speakers and a few couples are dancing to it. Seonghwa hadn’t said anything about dancing, it probably wasn’t on the actual itinerary, but he draws you out to the floor without warning. You want to protest but his hands are already on your hips and your chest is already pressed to his. You don’t think you’ve ever been this close to him, save bumping into each other in labs and accidentally spilling samples down your coats. Based on the number of times that had happened, you don’t expect Seonghwa to be particularly graceful. But he seems intent on proving you wrong as he leads you to the rhythm.
“I didn’t know you could dance,” you murmur.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” he quips back.
You quirk an eyebrow. “Yeah? Like what?”
He seems to think about it for a moment before answering. “I love Star Wars.”
“I already knew that.”
“What?”
“You used to bring a Darth Vader thermos to class. The lid was his helmet.”
“Legos?”
“Lego guy keychain.”
“Animal Crossing?”
“You’d literally play it in class.”
Seonghwa smirks. “Wow.”
“What?”
“I just didn’t realize you were obsessed with me.”
“Wha- I’m not obsessed with you!” you sputter. “I’m just very observant! And you make your interests too obvious.”
“Sure, whatever you say,” he teases, making you roll your eyes.
He spins you before you get the chance to argue again, extending his arm all the way and then whipping it back so that you’re stumbling into his embrace.
“My turn, then?” he asks.
You feel your face scrunch up in confusion before you can stop it. “What do you mean?”
“Your favorite color is pink,” he whispers, as if it’s some kind of secret. “You love The Lord of the Rings. You quote it all the time. You like to cook. You always brought your leftovers for lunch and everyone would ask how you made whatever it was because it smelled so good.”
You’re staring at him now, lips slightly parted in surprise. His gaze flickers down to them and then back up. He smiles.
“You’re not the only observant one.”
A song is still playing but you’ve stopped dancing. It’s like you’re standing in the eye of a storm, surrounded by music and conversation that blurs and distorts around you. It all sounds muffled, but that might just be the ringing in your ears. You realize what’s about to happen a moment before it does but you’re still unprepared when Seonghwa kisses you.
His lips are softer than you expected, not that you’ve imagined kissing him before... not that you ever wondered. His arms are still around your waist and he pulls you in closer, deepening the kiss.
You’re stiff at first, unsure of what to do with your arms or your own lips, but you relax when you feel his tongue swipe at your bottom lip. He makes a contented sort of sound in the back of his throat when you open your mouth for him. It’s just slightly, just enough for him to get a taste, but he seems pleased nonetheless.
Distant cheering in the background startles the both of you out of your daze, pops the little bubble you’d somehow found yourselves in. It’s then that you remember that you’re in public, and that you probably shouldn’t be sucking each other's faces off in the middle of this very nice ballroom in front of your peers.
You part, both a little breathless.
“I hope that was okay,” Seonghwa whispers against your cheek.
“It was, yeah. It was okay. More than okay.”
“Good. I’m glad.” He grins, the upturn of his cheeks pushing his specs higher on his nose, making glimmers of light from the chandelier dance in the reflection of the glass like stars falling from the sky. One of his hands strays from your waist to take your own.  “Wanna get out of here?”
You’re nodding before your brain can fully process the question. “Yes please.”
-
The journey back up to your room is a blur. You vaguely register bidding Hongjoong, Dr. Harvey, and a couple of other people whose names had long since slipped your mind goodnight. You’re not sure what you said, Seonghwa probably took the lead.
Your cheeks are warm with embarrassment as you make your way out of the hall hand in hand. You feel like everyone knows what you’re about to do. And with a kiss like that in a crowded room, it wouldn’t be hard to figure out.
But did it really matter if they knew you were about to get your back blown out? It would only help sell the story to them even more. At least, that’s what you’re telling yourself, still not ready to admit that you’re not playing pretend anymore.
The clicking of your heels on the marble sounds entirely too loud as you walk through the lobby to the elevator bay. The lights have been dimmed for the night, emulating the darkness outside. Only a few employees remain behind the desks, stationed for any late check-ins. The rest had surely clocked out hours ago when the rush ended.
“Do you have a key?” Seonghwa asks you, eyeing the purse you’d somehow remembered to grab on your way out.
You did, but, “there’s one in your pocket.”
His hand comes to the front of his pants, feeling for the plastic card. “Right. Sorry.”
He uses the key to activate the elevator and then he uses it again to open the door to your room. The ride up had been silent, and a little awkward, both of you standing on opposite sides of the tiny room, avoiding eye contact.
You wonder if the energy has shifted, if the moment has passed. Had he suddenly come to his senses? Was he already regretting kissing you?
You don’t get the chance to ask either of these things, however, because he’s kissing you again as soon as you stumble into the room. It’s dark, so everything is a little uncoordinated, but it almost seems fitting for you and Seonghwa.
He presses you up against the door, fingers fumbling with the ties on the back of your dress. It’s hard for him to undo them when he can’t see what he’s doing, too occupied with kissing his way down your neck.
“Fuck this,” he gasps, breaking away. “Lift up your arms.”
You do, gasping as Seonghwa tugs the silk up and over your head. It’s the kind of dress you can’t wear a bra with so you’re left completely bare from the waist up.
“Fuck me,” he breathes, running his hands over your body.
“I’m trying.”
A beat lapses before Seonghwa lets out a quiet chuckle. You’re the one to pull him back this time, tugging at his suit jacket as you kiss him in an attempt to get it off his shoulders.
“Let me, um,” he mumbles against your lips, feeling along the wall of the little hallway you’re standing in for something. “Let me turn on a lamp or something. I want to see you.”
The comment makes you feel shy but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want to see him too so you let him go and only laugh a little bit when he trips over his suitcase on the way over to the desk.
“Oh, would you rather have it off?” he asks, noticing the way you’re holding your arms over your chest.
“No, no, I want to see you too,” you assure him. “I just feel kind of weird being the only one naked.”
“Well that’s an easy fix.”
He makes his way back over to you, loosening his tie as he does. He leaves it hanging around his neck so that you can take it off for him. The satin feels heavy in your hands and you wonder briefly how it would feel tied around your wrists- another time, maybe.
Seonghwa focuses on unbuttoning his shirt while you lift the tie over his head, hands brushing together as you work in tandem.
You reach for his belt but he ducks out of your grasp with a grin, shrugging off the button up as he sinks down onto his knees in front of you. You barely register the feeling of his hands on your thighs. You’re too caught up with the way he’s looking up at you. He’s taken his glasses off, though you don’t know when- or where he’s put them for that matter, and is gazing up at you like painted the cosmos themselves. Like he fully intends on worshiping you.
Park Seonghwa on his knees. What a sight.
“Can I?” he asks, fingers gently wedging themselves in between your legs to part them. “Please?”
You nod.
“I need you to say it.”
“You can,” you whisper.
“I can... what?” Seonghwa presses. “I haven’t even said what it is I want to do to you.”
He’s taunting you now. It’s obvious what he meant when he asked you but he just loves pushing your buttons too much to stop, even when he’s on the verge of begging to taste your pussy.
“You can do whatever you want to me,” you breathe.
“Fuck.”
You nearly lose your balance as Seonghwa lifts one of your legs over his shoulder but he plants both of his hands on your ass and pulls you onto his face before that can happen. He groans at the first taste of you, even though it’s over your panties. You’re not sure whether he meant to leave them on to be even more of a tease or if he had just simply forgotten to take them off in the rush to get you on his tongue.
They’re the seamless kind, the kind that aren’t supposed to show through thin material. You’d chosen to wear them with your dress instead of suffering through the discomfort of a thong all night. The comfort was a benefit. The sheerness was a drawback. You might as well not be wearing anything with how form fitting they were, especially considering how wet you already are.
Your hands are in Seonghwa’s hair and you’re trying not to pull too hard but you have to anchor yourself to something or you’re afraid your knees will buckle.
“That’s it,” he praises, nose nudging your clit as he licks into you. It’s muffled but you can still make it out, if just barely. “Harder, baby.”
“Are you s-sure?”
He nods and the motion makes you want to cry out. “I won’t break. Promise.”
You decide to trust his word and tug a little harder. He moans and rewards you by pushing his tongue inside of you. He can only go so far with the fabric of your underwear restricting him but it’s enough to get you to whimper his name.
-
God, you sound so pretty, it’s almost too much for Seonghwa to handle. You taste just as good as he’d always imagined, better even, and he’s losing all sense of control because of it. He can tell he’s making you feel good but this won’t be enough to get you to cum, at least, not as hard as he wants you to before he fucks you... if that’s where the night ends up going. He would be more than happy to have you cum on his tongue, kiss you goodnight, and then fall asleep beside you if that’s what you wanted.
He manages to get your panties out of the way and to the side with his teeth before diving back in and sucking your clit into his mouth. You make a little surprised sound and melt into him even more.
He wants to get his fingers inside of you too, but it would be difficult with the way the two of you are positioned so he pulls back and jerks his head in the direction of the bed. You help him to his feet and pull him in for a kiss, moaning at the way you taste on his lips.
Seonghwa didn’t think it was possible for him to get any harder than he already is but you’re always going and proving him wrong.
You release him after another moment and fall back onto the mattress, calling to him like a siren. You don’t actually say anything, but you don’t have to. The sight of you on the bed you’ll share with your legs spread and your thighs still glistening with your arousal and his saliva is all it’d take for Seonghwa to throw himself into the sea and drown in you.
He takes off his slacks finally, just to give himself a bit of relief, and joins you on the bed as fast as humanly possible.
“Can I take these off?” he asks, running his fingers over the soaked patch of your underwear.
“Please,” you laugh.
You lift your hips so that he can pull them off of you and then he’s back in between your legs with your thighs clamped around his head so tightly he can’t hear anything aside from your desperate pleas for him not to stop.
He doesn’t even realize he’s been grinding into the mattress until you’re cumming on his tongue and it takes everything in him to hold back from falling over the edge with you.
“Hwa...”
Your voice is so distant he doesn’t hear it until you repeat it. The nickname makes his heart do a little somersault. You’ve never called him that before. It makes him want to smile like an idiot and not fight so hard to suppress those pesky feelings he’s been harboring for you for God knows how long. He wants to kiss you all over and make love to you and give you a little house on his Animal Crossing island even though he’d have to rearrange the entire layout. He actually brought his switch with him, it’s in his bag and he could go get it right now and-
“Hwa!”
Fuck. Right. He pushes the aforementioned feelings down again, clears his throat, and plays it cool. “Hm? What’s up?” His voice cracks on the ‘up’ because of course it does. So much for playing it cool.
“Can you fuck me, please?”
He feels like he could fall through the floor. How the fuck could you sound so polite asking to get your back blown out like that? His dick twitches against his thigh and Seonghwa has to take a deep breath to steel himself before answering.
“You sure you want to keep going? You want this?”
“God, yes,” you whine, leaning forward to try and pull him on top of you. “Are you going to make me beg for it?”
Tempting, but, “no, it’s just... I have to tell you something.”
Jesus, was he really doing this now? It felt like the worst possible moment to bring it up but he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if he slept with you without coming clean. He’d already gone further than he probably should have, judgment clouded by lust and alcohol and the lingering scent of your perfume on your neck.
You face falls, making Seonghwa realize he definitely should have worded it differently.
“It’s not anything bad! I don’t think...”
“Just tell me,” you say flatly.
“Um, remember in the car earlier today when we were going through our story, and you couldn’t remember what class I asked you out after?”
“And you yelled at me about it?”
“I didn’t yell at you-” he pauses, and squeezes his eyes shut. This was why he kept going back and forth over what he was about to say, why he was hesitating even now. “I reacted the way I did because... I actually was going to ask you out that night after your pharmacology class got out.”
“What?”
“I was there, waiting outside and I-I chickened out.”
You blink in disbelief. “You don’t... hate me?”
“Hate you? I never hated you!” You give him a look. “There was a bit of... animosity between us, but it was never hate! At least, not for me! Did you hate me?”
It’s your turn to feel exposed. That’s what Seonghwa thinks you feel anyway, from the look on your face.
“No... I already told you I didn't! It was... what you described.”
Seonghwa narrows his eyes at you. “I don’t believe you.”
“I mean, like you said, it wasn’t hate. I just didn’t particularly like you. And I thought that was a mutual thing.”
“It was!” he agrees quickly. A little too quickly, maybe. “It was. For a while. And then it wasn’t. But I never said anything about it because I kept thinking it was just a phase I was going through. I thought I’d get over it and you’d never have to know.”
“But that never happened?” He shakes his head. “But you built up the courage to show up and ask me out that day. You had to have accepted it then.”
He sighs and rolls onto his back. “I guess I did, but like I said, I was a coward. When I peeked through the window on the door, I saw you laughing and joking around with your friends and I just thought about how it’s never been like that with us. And I thought it’d never work out because we’re... us. We bicker all of the time. We’re always competing. That didn’t magically go away when I realized I had feelings for you. So I thought you deserved someone who you’d actually get along with.”
“Well, that should have been up to me to decide,” you say.
“I know,” Seonghwa admits with a groan. Then, he bolts upright. “Wait, would you have said yes?”
“Probably.”
“What do you mean probably?”
“I mean, I would’ve liked to see where it went. I’ve always thought you were attractive.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, it’s one of the things about you that annoyed me.” Seonghwa scoffs. “Just being honest.”
“Well, if I’m being honest,” he counters, propping himself up on his elbow. “I kind of like it when we bicker.”
“Don’t tell me it turns you on.”
“Only sometimes.”
You roll your eyes at him. “You’re sick.”
He shrugs. “It’s only because you’re so hot when you’re mad at me.”
“You must be really horny right now, then,” you mutter.
“You’re mad at me?”
“Yes, I’m mad at you! You’ve been keeping your little crush on me a secret all this time! And you chose now to tell me?”
“I know, I’m sorry. I have the worst timing.”
“Understatement of the year.”
Seonghwa figures he deserves that one so he lets it slide even though it chips at his pride. “Wait, so... what does that make us? If we feel the same way, shouldn’t we give it a real shot?”
You groan, putting your hands over your face. “Can we talk about it after you fuck me stupid? I’m still so wet I can’t think about anything else.”
“Oh yeah, right.” He sits up and rolls back on top of you, caging you in. He presses his thigh between your legs so that you can grind on it as he kisses you again. “Are you sure arguing with me doesn’t make you horny?” he teases. “Can feel you throbbing against me, baby.”
“I’m horny because you’re hot and your dick is hard.”
And because you like him, Seonghwa thinks giddily.
“We can talk about it later, then,” he surrenders, reaching down to pump himself a few times. “As long as you’ll say you’re mine.”
You tilt your head to the side as you process his request. “Yours?”
“Mine.”
“You want me to be yours?”
“If that’s something you want.”
“It is something I want.”
“Then say it.”
“I’m yours.”
“Fuck,” Seonghwa hisses, grinding against you. He’s not even inside of you yet and he feels like he could explode.
“Please, Hwa,” you whisper and reach down to line him up yourself.
“Wait fuck, I don’t have a condom.”
“I have an IUD. It’s okay,” you assure him.
“Are you sure?”
“As long as you’re clean.”
“I am, I haven’t been with anyone since last year, and I’ve been tested.”
“Me too.”
“Then we’re good?” he asks.
“We’re good.”
“Perfect. Deep breath, baby.”
Seonghwa’s arms threaten to give out the instant he begins to push himself inside of you. He should have been the one to take a deep breath. He already knows how you taste so he really should have been more prepared for how good you would feel but then again Seonghwa had always been a bit Icarian in nature so his overly ambitious attitude is pretty par for the course in light of everything.
“Hold on, just... just give me a second,” he stutters.
He swears you clench around him purposefully, playing it off with a meek “sorry, it was an accident” when he glares at you. He wouldn’t put it past you to turn this into a competition too, but he wants to remember your first time together as something special. He wants to be in the moment with you, wants to make you cum over and over and over on his cock until you can’t say anything but his name. He wants to make tonight all about you. He wants to make every night about you, but he’ll have to start with tonight.
“Are you okay?” you ask him, voice so sweet he almost has to pull out so he doesn’t end what’s barely started.
“You feel too good,” he admits, dropping his head into the crook of your shoulder.
“If you cum now, we can just go again, right?”
Right. He forgot about that. He needs to stop thinking with his dick.
“Yeah, right. Right.”
“Fucked out already?” you tease, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
“It’s you,” he pants weakly. “How can I not be?”
You open your mouth, probably about to say something smart in reply but he rolls his hips just as you do, pushing himself deeper inside of you. The words seem to dissolve on your tongue, your mouth falling open in a moan instead.
“What was that, baby?” he asks, moving even faster now.
You answer in mumbled nonsense. Seonghwa smirks down at you and leans forward to kiss the point where your neck meets your collarbone. He thinks about what a hickey would look like there, what kind of attention it would draw from everyone tomorrow morning.
He can’t dwell on it for too long, though, because you’re yanking him back up by his hair, warning him that you’re about to cum.
“Already?”
“It’s you,” you repeat his own words back to him, and he feels his own stomach tense up in anticipation. “You and your perfect dick.”
Okay, so, less romantic than his sentiment but the structure was still there. It made him feel warm inside nonetheless.
“Can I cum, please? Please?”
“Do you think you can be quiet? We don’t want a noise complaint, remember?”
“I c-can be quiet.”
You’re lying through your teeth and Seonghwa can tell, he’s known you for so long now that he;’s memorized all of your tells. But he’s right there on the edge too and he wants nothing more than to cum with you.
“I’m close too, baby. Shit, can I cum inside you? Please?”
“God, yes- please, give it to me...”
He kisses you as he cums, managing to swallow some of your moans and cries of his name as you cum even harder than you did the first time. He’s sensitive by the time you finally come down from it but he doesn’t pull out.
“Can we lay like this for a second?”
You nod easily, letting out a soft laugh when Seonghwa drops his weight on top of you. “I don’t think I can move anyway.”
“Not with that attitude, you can’t.”
“Oh my god, get off of me.”
“Sorry, what was that? Couldn’t hear you.”
“You’re the worst!”
“The worst at what?”
“Everything!”
“You didn’t seem to think that a few minutes ago,” he points out.
“I’m having post-nut clarity,” you mumble, pushing weakly at his shoulders.
“I didn’t know that happened to girls,” he muses.
“There’s a lot you don’t know about women,” you snap, still struggling underneath him. “Maybe if you talked to one once and a while you’d be more knowledgeable on the subject.”
“I’m talking to you, aren’t I?”
“That’s because I- are you getting hard again?” you ask in disbelief.
“I told you that bickering with you turns me on!”
“You are unbelievable!”
Seonghwa kisses you and rolls his hips experimentally. You moan, relaxing under him immediately.
“Fuck, that feels good,” you sigh against his lips.
“Yeah, we’re definitely going to be late to brunch tomorrow.”
happy birthday emily!! i'm so lucky to call you my bestie and i hope you enjoyed your very late present :)

Cute Costume
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Jennifer Jareau x fem!reader
Genre: Smut
Words: 4k+
Summary: There are not many good costumes to choose from when you need to buy one last minute. Unfortunately for you, you're stuck with a very revealing one. JJ is loving it, though, and even if you have a party to go to, she's finding it hard to keep her hands to herself.
Warnings: fingering (r receiving); oral (r receiving); edging kinda; top!JJ, bottom!r; clit play; nipple play; praise kink; JJ has a thing for costumes I guess?
A/N: This is a little different from the request. I just kind of ditched the trick-or-treating with Henry idea for a costume party... but anyways I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
“God, this is ridiculous,” you muttered to yourself as you twisted and turned in front of the mirror. Currently, you were squeezed into a much too short for your liking, Dorothy dress. The way you grimaced at yourself in the mirror as you took in the way the skirt of the dress stopped far too high up your thighs was almost comical. You tried to pull down at the fabric, but it still remained just as short as you suspected. “Oh god,” you groaned again as your eyes made their way to the massive amount of cleavage that was visible with the top of the dress.
Your eyes turned back to the other pile of outfits still waiting in their packages for you to try on. This was supposed to be the most modest one. Garcia picked out all of them, of course. And there weren’t even a lot to choose from to begin with. Not when Halloween was just a few days away. You hadn’t even planned to dress up, but Garcia decided to throw a last minute costume party and you couldn’t say no. Or, well, more like JJ agreed for you. And even with her party being semi-last minute, your costume planning was even more so. JJ had promised to go with you, but now it’s the day before the party and that still hasn’t happened. Why you thought Penelope would be a good alternative to costume shop with you, you didn’t know. All you did know was that you were seriously regretting that decision now. Apparently, when you said you wanted a cute costume, you two had very different definitions.
Still in your short, little Dorothy dress, you filed through the other bags of costumes you had yet to try. It seemed like everything else had less fabric— meaning it showed even more skin than you’d like. If you went out to look for more costumes would you even be successful at this point?
“Hey how’s it— oh my gosh!” Penelope peaked her head in the changing room that moment, cutting off her own question the moment she saw you. “That. Is. Adorable!” She opened more of the changing room curtain as she took in your outfit and suddenly you had the urge to cover your whole body.
“Penelope,” you hissed, “all of these costumes show too much skin!”
“Just wait until you have the leggings and the shoes…” she didn’t seem to be listening to your protests. “Oh, and the basket! It’s perfect, you look so cute.”
“No, nope, no.” You shook your head. “This dress is too short. We need to go back out and find something else.”
“I picked out the best I could find in the time we had,” Penelope pointed out. “So your only option is that one or to try the others.”
You looked back at the other options and thought it over. Part of you wasn’t so sure Penelope really looked for other costumes that fit your one request. There had to be something cuter… but then again the store was really cleared out. If you sent Penelope back out there for a second look she might come back with costumes you hate even more than the untried ones. Do you gamble for something better than this Dorothy costume or do you settle?
“Did you try the Harley Quinn costume? I think that’s a good one too.” Garcia was now going through all the others she picked for you to try. “Maybe that one is-“
“No!” You panicked. That one showed your whole midriff and the shorts seemed shorter than the dress is. Dorothy might be your safest bet after all. “This is fine,” you looked down at your dress and gulped. “I love the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy is great. It's very…” you gave Penelope a forced smile, “…cute.”
“Isn’t it?” Penelope beamed at you, obviously proud of her own choices for your costume. “You look great!”
And that’s how you got saddled with a costume you’d never in a million years guess you’d be wearing. Penelope did set you up with all the rest of the accessories. The stockings, the red shoes, even the basket with a small dog plushie that was supposed to resemble Toto.
Much like when you were in the store’s dressing room, it was a day later and you were now staring at yourself in the mirror with the same look on your face. The grimace was deep. You couldn’t imagine your wife’s whole team seeing you in this outfit and taking you seriously ever again. But then again, you thought about Penelope’s costume choice and you were a little relieved that you wouldn’t be the only one in an outfit you (and most others probably) would categorize as sexy. At least with Penelope’s sexy bunny outfit, she really knew how to wear it. It was perfect for her and she wore it with confidence. You, on the other hand, looked quite nervous and uncomfortable as you looked at yourself in the mirror. Sexy wasn’t really your vibe… especially in a public setting, but there’s a first for everything, right?
“Hey, are you almost ready?” JJ called from somewhere in the house. You couldn’t bring yourself to answer her, not when you were still stuck staring at yourself. Your mind was running through every possible back up plan you could think of, but there was no plan B for a costume change. The only options were excuses to cancel. Maybe you could say Henry was sick? But they probably knew he was with Will this weekend. What if you said you were sick? That wasn’t going to work and you knew it. JJ wouldn’t lie and she seemed like she really wanted to go to the party either way. Could you fake being sick to JJ? Maybe if you made it convincing… That wouldn’t work either. She would see right through you. You were screwed.
“Hey, is everything—“ She cut herself off when she came to a skidding halt in the middle of the bedroom. “Holy shit.”
You spun around so fast and your heart felt like it leapt in your throat. When your eyes landed on her, you froze much in the same way.
You had the same reaction that JJ did when you saw each other in costume. She was dressed as Supergirl and you didn’t think there was anything more fitting. Lucky for JJ, she had this costume ready so she didn’t need to shop. She looked so confident in it too, heroic even. There wasn’t a better costume. And it made her fifty times more attractive to you, if that were even possible.
Meanwhile, as JJ took in your short dress and the cleavage popping out from the top of it just right, her pupils were blown. She was practically salivating over how hot she found you in that outfit. Everything, in her opinion, complimented your body perfectly and all she could think about was getting her hands on you.
It was really unexpected for her, to see that this was the costume you went with. She really didn’t expect for you to agree to something like this, but she knew it was all Garcia’s doing. Thank god for Garcia, JJ thought as she took in the way the dress made your legs look.
“Wow,” JJ said with a heavy breath. “Look at you.” She suddenly was taking quick strides to where you were still standing frozen. She stopped right in front of you and her eyes dropped to your legs again before slowly dragging back up your body.
“Wow,” she sighed again. “This costume…”
“Ugh,” you groaned. “I know, it’s not really me.”
“It’s just very unexpected,” JJ said as she reached out and played with the frill at the end of your dress. “But not bad. Definitely not bad.” Her hands were quickly making their way under your dress. There wasn’t much of your thighs that weren’t exposed by the shortness of the costume, but JJ was making quick work to run her hands up what wasn’t shown.
“Hey- Stop!” You whined as you swatted JJ’s hand away. “It was all they had, okay?”
“Uh huh,” JJ hummed as her hands moved up the backs of your thighs. “It’s so… short.”
“Yeah, well,” you huffed, your hands bracing against JJ’s shoulders as she kept trying to practically grope you. She didn’t seem to care that you were trying your best to keep her from being all over you. “There’s not many options when you go looking for a costume the Friday before Halloween and you still want to look cute.”
“Cute,” JJ repeated as her hands kept creeping up your dress. You let out a gasp when her hands reached your ass and she squeezed, effectively pulling you completely into her body. “Cute isn’t exactly the word I would go with…” she trailed off as she leaned forward and kissed down your barely covered chest. You bit your lip and tried your best to pretend like this wasn’t having an effect on you, but the way she was groping at you and pressing her body into yours had you blushing.
“JJ…” you warned as her hands left your ass, only for one to return between your inner thighs. “JJ we have a party to-“
You were cut off with another gasp as you felt JJ boldly push your panties to the side with her fingers and press them to your clit. JJ looks up from where her lips were attached to your breast to see the flushed look on your face and the grin she gave you was nothing short of satisfied with herself for eliciting such a response in you.
Part of you wanted to roll your eyes, but the way JJ quickly began rubbing circles against your clit only made them flutter closed. Your nails dug into JJ’s shoulder as she pressed more firmly to your clit. “You know,” She whispered against the bare skin of the top of your breasts. “I take it back. You do look cute like this.”
She was being such an ass, but deep down you fucking loved it. Your hips barely moved against her as she kept playing with your clit, but she noticed and smirked even more at your actions. Your nails were digging harder into JJ now as she kept playing with you and you were sure your face was bright red from the way she was quickly working your body up. The fact that you were already so wet was embarrassing, especially when you had to leave at any minute.
JJ, on the other hand, was enjoying this. The way everything about that costume just made it so easy for her to get hands on you was just another bonus in her mind. She kissed your lips and you immediately melted into her. You could feel her smirking against your lips as you kissed her back, but didn’t even care with how she kept touching you. When she pulled back from the kiss, all too soon, her lips fell yet again to what was exposed of your chest and she trailed them down with kisses and bites that were almost rough enough to leave marks behind.
“What if we had a quickie before the party?” JJ’s voice was muffled by the way she had her head buried in your chest again. “I want to fuck you in that dress.”
“JJ!” You finally had the sense to stop her from all that she was doing. “We don’t have time for this!” You pushed at her shoulders now and her fingers stopped.
“So?” She said, looking up at you with the biggest pout.
“You know how I feel about being late.” You took a step back on shaky legs, trying to regain composure and pretend like the ache between your legs wasn’t tempting you.
“Come on,” JJ whined. “You can’t tell me you’re good to go to the party now after—“
“Yes, we’re going now.” You didn’t want her to finish that sentence. She was going to break your resolve so fast if she kept looking at you like that. And you really did hate being late.
———————————————————
For someone who had such a serious life or death job like JJ, she really could be such a child. The way she sat next to you in the car, pouting the whole way, was ridiculous. You couldn’t stop yourself from rolling your eyes every time you looked over at her. She was also sure to let out very loud huffs any time her hand slid up your exposed thighs while you sat and you managed to swat it away.
You had hoped that once you got to the party, JJ would be distracted enough by other people to stop being fixated on your costume. You were so wrong. If you were talking to someone across the room, you could still feel her eyes on you. Or more specifically, on your legs. Even if she was in a conversation with someone else, she was still frequently trying to check you out.
When you were near her, she somehow was able to sneak subtle touches or just flat out grab your ass when no one was looking. It had you blushing like crazy, but no one seemed to notice. Lucky for you, you thought.
All of JJ’s grabbiness did annoy you, but not because she was doing it necessarily. If you told her to completely keep her hands off she absolutely would. No, it was annoying you because it was reminding you of that unsolved ache between your legs that you chose to leave with. The more she touched your thighs, the more you squirmed and then that reaction just fueled JJ even more. It got to the point where you tried your best to stay on one side of the party with other friends while she stayed on the other. But that only worked for a while, as she kept trying to gravitate towards you.
At one point, she wasn’t paying attention to the path in which she “naturally” tried to move towards you. She took a few steps backwards in your direction, hoping to land next to you, as she kept up the conversation. Only with this attempt, she took too far of a step back and bumped her back into yours.
“Oh shit!” She exclaimed and you turned quickly to see that her actions had led her to spill her drink all over the front part of her costume. Part of you wanted to say that that was what she got for teasing you so much in public, but you held back. When she looked down at her wet clothes and back up at you she was wearing this helpless puppy kind of expression and you knew what she was going to ask before she even said.
“Will you help me get cleaned up?” Her eyes didn’t show any ulterior motive. You looked at her for a moment before sighing.
“Okay,” you gave in. “Come on.” You pulled her to Penelope’s bathroom, effectively missing the victorious grin that JJ had as she followed.
In the bathroom, you immediately knew where Penelope kept some towels so you went shuffling in the right cabinet for them. Bent down and sifting through your towel options, you were completely unaware of JJ creeping up behind you. That is, until two hands again grabbed your ass.
“Oh my god!” You jumped up and spun around. “We’re in Penelope’s bathroom!”
“So?” JJ gave you a guilt grin. “You just look so good in that outfit.” She took a few steps closer until there was barely any room between the two of you.
“There’s people outside.” You poked a finger in her chest, trying to talk some sense into her.
“We can be quick and quiet.”
“You’re all wet,” you pointed out. “You’re going to get me all wet too.”
“That’s the plan,” JJ beamed and you just rolled your eyes at that.
“You’re insufferable.” You swatted at JJ again, but she didn’t seem deterred. Her eyes were back to being glued to your breasts and the way the corset of the dress pressed them together just right.
“I need to touch you.” Her voice was low this time and the way she said that wasn’t cocky or whiny or anything other than just hungry. You gulped at this shift and your eyes met JJ’s again. Her pupils were yet again blown and you watched as her eyes dragged from your chest down to your legs. She took another step closer, one of her hands trailing down your body until it reached your legs. Her nails slowly dragged up the exposed skin of your thighs until they reached your dress, but that didn’t stop her. Her nails kept dragging up with the fabric of the dress coming up with them.
“Let’s get out of here,” you said breathlessly, not really processing that you said it at all.
“Absolutely,” JJ agreed eagerly, her hand already tugging you out of the bathroom.
———————————————————-
If you thought the drive to the party was bad, this was way worse. JJ’s hand stayed high up on your thigh the whole time you drove and she didn’t miss the way you squirmed under it. Her eyes were also locked on you. The way she looked at you had your heart rate increasing too and, if you were being honest, just this alone was making you wet.
You fully expected JJ to drag you into the house and throw you onto the bed, but to your surprise she walked rather calmly to the door. It was when the door shut behind you that she did finally pounce. “Oh my god!” You yelped as JJ pushed your back against the front door and immediately fell to her knees. Her arms were hooked around your thighs in no time and her face immediately buried between your legs. Before you could even process it, her lips, tongue, and teeth were on your inner thighs and you were scrambling to grasp at something for support.
You settled for the edges of the door frame as one of JJ’s hands snakes up your thigh and pulled down your panties. Immediately after that you felt her tongue take one long lick of your folds. Your nails dug into the woodwork of the door and you whimpered the second she repeated her actions.
Good thing Henry was at Will’s, you thought as a full blown moan left your lips the second JJ’s tongue met your clit.
“Fuck,” JJ mumbled against your pussy. “I’ve been dying to taste you all night.”
“M-mhm,” you mumbled as your eyes fell closed. The way she was lapping at your clit already had caused your thighs to tremble slightly. She was wasting no time in working you up the way you were before leaving for the party. But this time you weren’t going to tell her to stop.
Except, after another minute she did just that. You huffed and looked down, only to see JJ give you yet another smug grin as she peaked her head out from under your dress.
“Not yet,” she taunted before getting up. Her hand immediately reached for yours and pulled you to the bedroom. You reluctantly followed on shaking legs. When you reached the bedroom, she pushed you down onto the mattress with surprising force.
You looked back up at her to protest only to stop when you realized she was stripping in front of you. No matter how many times you saw JJ, it never got old and you immediately blushed when she caught you staring.
“You look so fucking hot in that little dress,” JJ praised as she fully undressed. “But I’m going to want to rip it off you now.” She stalked towards the bed until she reached the foot of it. Slowly, almost like a predator hunting its prey, she crawled onto it and over to you. Her hands grabbed at the ends of the dress, pulling it up slowly. Blue eyes never left yours as she pulled the whole dress off you and you let her. With your panties already off and somewhere in the hallway, you were left completely bare now.
JJ tossed the dress somewhere in the room and immediately fell onto you with her lips attaching to yours. “It’s so fucking hard,” she said between kisses, “to keep my hands off you when you look so good.” Her lips pressed harder and harder to yours and soon you had parted your lips for her tongue to invade your mouth.
Arms wrapped around her waist so that you could pull both your bare bodies together. The way she slightly rocked herself into you had a small whine fall from your lips. Her tongue was busy running along your own as her nails yet again dragged down your body until they got to your thighs. She slowly parted your legs even more under her before circling your clit.
This time she only did that for a few seconds before moving her fingers further down to circle your entrance. Her lips left yours and moved back to your chest, only to leave actual marks this time across your breasts. When her teeth clamped down onto one of your nipples and pulled slightly, you hissed. But that hiss quickly turned into a loud gasp as, without warning, JJ entered you with two fingers up to her knuckles.
“Oh god,” you cried as her fingers didn’t even take a second to set a fast pace. She was putting her whole body behind the way she pulled her fingers out almost completely only to slam them back in.
“That’s it,” JJ cooed after releasing your nipple. “That’s my good girl.”
“Fuckkkk,” you groaned as she fucked her fingers up into you. She wasn’t wasting any time and it felt like both a blessing and a curse. The rough way she was fucking you wasn’t something you expected or prepared for, but god did it feel so fucking good.
With your arms around her waist, you held her impossibly tighter as both of you practically shook the bed with how hard she was fucking you. You tried to keep up, fucking yourself on her fingers with each time she pumped them back up into you. With the way she had been teasing you all night and how she had played with your clit off and on, you were already getting close.
JJ knew it too and she started to whisper praises in your ear as she curled her fingers inside you. “You’re taking my fingers so well,” she purred. “I need to feel you cum on them, baby.” She pumped her fingers even harder into you and you couldn’t stop yourself from crying out.
“Cum for me,” JJ continued. “Cum all over my fingers.” And you did with a pathetic whine. JJ helped you ride out your orgasm, slowly as you came down from it.
After a moment, JJ’s body relaxed on top of you and you felt a gentle kiss to your lips.
“Holy fuck.” You let out a breathless chuckle. “All that for some silly costume?”
“You looked really hot in it,” JJ said, grinning down at you. You just rolled your eyes and started to lift your hand to swat at JJ’s shoulder. Only, JJ caught it mid air and pinned it back to the mattress with impressive speed and force. “But we’re not done yet.”
And she really meant that. At some point in the multiple hours of JJ enjoying your body, you had missed a text from Penelope. It seemed you had totally forgotten to say goodbye when you two hurried out of the party. But from her text it seemed like she had a feeling this was how it would go. You just knew you weren’t going to hear the end of it the next time you saw her…

Sacrifices
Pairing: John Price x Reader
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
They’re surrounded and she’s the only person who can pull off the stunt required for the extractions team to do their magic. Defying her Captain’s orders was well worth the punishment if that meant said Captain and her teammates left this hellhole alive. Even if there was the possibility that that would be without her.

“The evac team’s swarmed, can’t land until the roof is secure!” Gaz yells out while barricading the door the three of them burst through for cover. Price grits his teeth, cursing.
Gunshots ping in the distance. This was supposed to be a simple mission. Capture the leader of an enemy organisation and transport him back to base for questioning.
The only issue was the intel they’d received had been compromised from the inside, an ambush waiting for them instead of their target. Gaz, Price, and her were the three people from the Task Force dispatched, the operation needed to be done without raising any alarms, after all. A smaller unit made sense.
Until it didn’t. The ambush had been brutal.
Gaz took a shot to the leg and Price, two bullets to the shoulder to his firing arm. She was the only one unharmed. The room seems to be for some kind of storage. Metal racks line the walls, a single light illuminating the space dimly.
“The roof is their primary focus, they know that’s where they’ll try to extract us from.” Price says, leaning against the wall. He does not flinch, does not wince or show any signs of discomfort from his wound aside from the sweat on his forehead and the pale complexion of his skin. Gaz isn’t doing much better, lowering himself down to get his bearing and inspect his leg.
“Our options are stay here until we’re found, or take a room full of uninjured, armed forces all at once.” Gaz grits out, rolling up his pant leg.
She’d been silent this entire time, thinking about their next course of action. The other two were injured. They’d be expecting them to strike as soon as possible, knowing they were desperate to escape.
The other two wouldn’t be any good standing their ground. Gaz couldn’t walk, and Price wouldn’t be able to shoot accurately. This was her family. Her teammates, yes, but she loved Gaz like an annoying little brother, and Price...
Well, he may be her Captain, but at the end of the day, he’s also her husband.
The decision comes without any hesitation. Grabbing her rifle, she checks her ammo and reloads, the clinking of the bullets catching the attention of the other two. She checks her knives, feeling their gazes on her, and when she finally straightens up and catches Price’s narrowed gaze, she knows he’s figured out her plan of action.
“You’re not to act without orders, sergeant.” He says, low and authoritative. It’s his Captain voice, the one she and the others obey without question on the field.
This is the first time she’s chosen to disobey it.
“We don’t have a choice.” She says, slinging her pistol into its holster. “I’m the only one not out of commission. I can clear the roof, buy you some time at least.”
Gaz goes to interrupt but her husband beats her to it.
“Stand down, Sergeant.” He orders, knuckles white around the shelf he’s gripping.
“Negative, Captain.” She responds calmly.
“I’m giving you a direct order-”
“Yes.” She cuts him off. “I’ll get the evac team in, they’ll send backup.”
“Sergeant-!“ There’s a hint of something other than his stoic command when she approaches the door, something akin to alarm and worry. Even Gaz snaps his head to look at the Captain.
“Price. Gaz.” She nods to each of them in turn, then gives Price one last look. Her rough, professional exterior cracks for a moment, the sad but determined smile she offers him might be the last one he sees, and the thought makes his heart plummet hard. “I’m glad to have worked with you.” She turns to John. “Love you.”
He abandons her title and calls out her name angrily instead, pushing off the wall to march towards her. She knows he’s going to grab her, force her to stay and think of something else if he caught her. Hell, he might even decide to go out there instead of her and that was simply unacceptable. She slips out the door, slams it shut and bolts it closed from the outside, trapping them in.
Two pairs of arms pound on the door, two muffled voices call out her name, one frantic, the other fearful and angry.
She leaves them behind, extracting a frag grenade from her belt. Stealth was one of her specialties, and even more so now that she’s working alone. Slinking back, keeping to the shadows, she finds her way to the staircase leading to the roof. Cracking open the door, she peers out to assess the situation.
Counting 15 men, armed and alert, she takes a deep breath, pulls the pin out of the grenade, throwing it out.
The moment it explodes, she throws open the door, takes three men out, and dives for cover behind a stack of sandbags. Men bark out shouts and orders, bullets rain around her. Another grenade sails over the bags, taking out a handful of them.
Hauling herself over the bags, she shoots down a few more of them, lunging to change covers.
A sharp pain stings straight through her forearm.
Another one through her right calf.
Biting back a cry, she situates herself behind the second stack of sandbags. Less than half the men left. She could do it. She wasn’t doing this for herself. She was doing this for Gaz.
She was doing this for Price. For her husband.
The person who loved staying in bed with her on their off days, the man that treated her like she was the most precious thing in the world. Price was someone she would never find again, and she was grateful for every moment they spent together. In bed lazy, taking a walk outside, lounging around at the beach, cuddling on the couch. Every moment with him was special, and she would not, she could not let him die like this.
Trapped in a fucking setup.
Summoning up the will, she throws her last grenade and opens fire, dropping man after man. Bullets scrape across her skin but she barely feels them.
She aims for the last man, the roof bloodied with corpses when he throws down a smokescreen. Eyes watering, she coughs, moving to get out of the cloud, when she feels an arm lock around her neck.
The man snarls, grabbing her in a headlock and squeezing. She chokes, scratches at his arms but his grip is relentless. Dark spots dot her vision, and she can feel her thoughts slip away.
‘Clear your head’ John would have told her. ‘No situation is inescapable, you just need to figure out the routes to escape.’
Escape. Get the evac team in. She was so close.
She reaches down and grabs at her legs until her hand curls around the last knife she has tucked away. Yanking it out, she jams it into the man’s arm and shoves him away, stumbling to increase the distance between them.
Cursing, the soldier points his gun at her with a sneer, hatred clear on his face. Unarmed, she looks for a weapon; her gun had been dropped in the struggle.
There’s a beat of silence where neither of them move, then the soldier bark out a laugh and pressed the trigger.
The bang makes her flinch as she ducks, preparing for the incoming second shot that would take her out.
Nothing comes.
Nothing but the thump of a body and arms pulling her up to her feet with an exclamation of her name. She starts to put up a fight, but then realises that the hands that hold her do not hurt, but are familiar and warm.
“I’ve got you.” A smooth, gravelly voice. “Easy does it.”
“John?” She gasps out. Over his shoulder, Gaz limps in on the scene, declaring it clear. A hand pressed to his ear, contacting the evac team via comms.
Now that the adrenaline starts to ebb away, she feels the full effects of her decision hitting her hard. She’s bleeding from a lot of places.
Her cheek, her calf, her forearm, the side of her stomach. Scraped and bruised, still gasping for oxygen from being choked. God, she just knows there are going to be bruises around her throat tomorrow by how sore it is.
Her knees buckle, but Price catches her, lowering them both to the ground. “I’ve got you, love.” He mutters, laying her down and looking her head to toe to chart her injuries. “Bloody hell.” He curses at her state. “What the hell were you thinking? Took us ages to break outta that goddamn room.” He snaps, glaring down at her. Among the anger, she can see worry and panic swimming in those eyes of his.
“Needed to get the roof clear.” She breathes out, clutching onto his wrist. “Did it, didn’t I?” A weak laugh that Price does not find amusing at all.
“We need a medic!” He yells over his shoulder to Gaz, who nods and relays the information over. “We’re talking about your actions later.” He informs her firmly, eyebrows drawn tightly together. “But you’re alright for now. You’re gonna be fine, you hear me?”
All she can bare to do is nod, squeezing her eyes shut, her entire body hurts and-
“Shit, ouch.” She hisses through her teeth, eyes flying open. “Did you just pinch me?” She says incredulously.
“I need you to stay awake, love.” Price says firmly. “Eyes on me, yeah? Keep talking. Don’t you dare close your eyes.”
“Is that an order, Captain?” She tries a weak smile.
“It’s one you’ll listen to, that’s for fucking sure.” His grumble pulls out a small laugh from her. She doesn’t have to wait long, it seems because the humming noise of the chopper fills the air soon enough, the evac team lands safely on the roof. A swarm of people rushes out of the chopper towards them.
The three of them are loaded onto the helicopter, medics on them, shouting to each other and measuring out syringes of medicine.
Price looks at her the entire time, watching her as if she might disappear again. She knows she’ll get a talking to when they land, a harder one from her Captain, and a more worried one from her husband, but she can’t bring herself to care.
They were all alive.
Price could berate her as much as possible, she’d never regret saving their lives, even if it had meant trading her own.

August 5th, Madrid, Spain.
WHEN Charles said you needed to make new memories in Spain to replace the bad ones, you didn’t have a wedding in mind. However, with the rollercoaster that is your life as of lately, you don’t swim against the current anymore. Just going with it is not a bad way to live when you’re still trying to reach the surface and get away from the wreckage.
Things aren’t good. Not yet. The press is still having a field day with all that he said, she said merry go round. Aidan and Victoria are fighting to play the victim and Mia Kim is on a mission to paint you as the worst sister-in-law who could have ever existed. Which, to be fair, paints her in a weird Freudian light.
But things are better than they were the last time you were in Spain. And that’s something to be grateful for.
“Are you sure?” You asked Charles on FaceTime for the third time that night two weeks ago, he had just asked you to be his plus one to one of his Ferrari mates’ wedding. “Are you a hundred percent sure they won’t mind?”
The last thing you wanted was to feel like an intruder, and with the type of attention you carry around like a dark cloud over your head, ruining someone’s special day was not an experience you wanted to add to your repertoire.
“Of course they won’t mind, soleil.” Charles assured, he was still in Hungary after the Grand Prix. “Tommaso told me I could bring anyone, and I want to bring you.”
The last time you saw Charles in person was in New York City, almost two months ago. It doesn't mean, of course, that you stopped communicating. Whenever Charles is on his phone, you can be certain you'll receive a text, a picture or a random iMessage drawing. You handle time zones as best you can without sacrificing too much sleep time, especially for the one who has to drive a car at 300 km/hr.
Although he insisted on you coming to any Grand Prix of your choice, you thought it best to stay away from the paddock for a while. Plus, you had some work to do. You didn't love Talk Shows while promoting, most hosts did horrible, unfunny jokes, and you were the butt of a lot of them, but if being in some of them helped you to speak about your situation and dismiss whatever rumor Victoria, Aidan or Mia (or just about half the internet) had going on, you were willing to make the sacrifice.
You were also willing to attend a complete stranger's wedding just to see Charles again, but you didn't want to give that thought the depth it demanded from you. Not in the seven hour flight from New York to Madrid, and not now, as you're getting ready for Charles to pick you up to go to the wedding.
Your blue dress is frankly magnificent, and you are aware of how good you look, but it doesn't hurt that the first thing Charles does when the doors to the lift open, is compliment you. Well, to be fair, the first thing he does is gather his thoughts and try not to feel stupid after basically picking his jaw up from the floor.
"You look gorgeous," Charles says, clearing his throat. His sudden anxiety makes you chuckle, as his Adam's apple bobs up his neck. "I missed you so much, soleil."
You are mildly disappointed when he doesn't hug you the way he did back in New York, and you dismiss the feeling almost as quickly as it appeared. Although his words linger in the air, he missed you, and you did too.
"I don't want to ruin your hair," he explains, as if he's read your mind, and smiles wider.
"Right," you shake your head, it was obvious. "You look pretty good yourself, Charlie," you add, always trying to return the compliment, and only managing to make it awkward.
There is something about men in suits that makes them twice as attractive, and it's unfair when it comes to someone like Charles, who is already way too handsome as it is.
"Thank you," Charles is always nice enough to accept your half-assed, anxiety induced compliments. "Shall we?"
You nod, and when he offers his arm to lead you to the car, you link yours through it taking a breath so deep, it makes your lungs ache.
"Do you like weddings?" Charles asks as the engine of his car roars to life. A red Ferrari is the only way you manage to describe it, afraid of getting details wrong. Although you're certain Charles would patiently explain anything you needed to know about it, you don't ask.
"Everyone likes weddings," you reply, setting both hands on top of your knees. "Right?"
Charles chuckles and shrugs, "I guess so,"
You love weddings, except when you're expected to be the bride.
"Charles," you pat his shoulder and he takes his eyes off the road for the briefest second. "Are you completely sure the bride doesn't mind my presence?"
You don't want to give yourself some sort of importance you don't deserve—the bride has more important things to worry about—but particularly nervous about how your presence will be received at the celebration.
"Seriously, y/n," Charles soothes, his right hand leaves the steering wheel and searches for your own blindly, accidentally landing on your empty lap. He takes his hand back immediately, red creeping up his neck. "It's fine." he resolves, his sight way too focused on the road now.
"Alright," you whisper, smoothing the skirt of your dress. "Alright."
Both of you remain silent the rest of the way as you take in the Spanish landscape and Charles drives like his life depends on it. You promised yourself you'd ask for as much information on the happy couple as you could, but your voice is lost in the pit that opened in your stomach.
And the evening is just beginning.
It's after the ceremony, at cocktail hour that you find everything out about Tommaso and Bárbara thanks to none other than Carlos Sainz, who seems to really have a thing for gossip and also, for making fun of you for crying during the vows.
"Leave me alone, Carlos," you warn for the last time, this time threatening him with your closed fist. "Not my fault you don't have a heart in that big-ass chest."
This makes him laugh harder, and even Charles chuckles against the lip of his whiskey glass.
"I miss you so much around the paddock, y/n!" Carlos sighs, patting the place above his heart. "For real."
You click your tongue. "Sure you do,"
Carlos and you talk a lot less than Charles and you do, of course. But if Charles calls you during whatever free time he has while in the Ferrari Suite, you can trust Carlos to insert himself in the conversation.
"And a lot of the other drivers do too," Carlos' tone is mocking again, and you glower at him.
"Stop picking on me," this time you punch him on the shoulder.
"I'm being serious. Lando has a crush on you,"
You talked to Lando a few times, mostly when he and Carlos were being boys and hitting each other in the balls outside the Ferrari Suite and Lando made small talk as he tried not to touch his private parts. A crush is an exaggeration, Lando just told you he thought you were cool for making movies.
"Why don't we take some pictures?" Charles suggests before downing the rest of his whiskey. You don't miss the look he gives Carlos.
"Why not?" you smile at Charles, shrugging. The place is beautiful and you would love to have a memory of this whole thing that you can go back to.
"I'll catch up with you guys," Carlos calls as you two walk away, uninterested in the impromptu photoshoot.
Charles directs an annoyed look at him again and then makes it go away to return his attention to you.
"What was that?" you ask, taking Charles' arm again for him to lead you to where the rest of the guests are more scattered and won't photobomb your pictures.
"What was what?" Charles lifts an eyebrow, forever the expert at playing dumb. Or, not really.
You shake your head, this is another deep thought you don't want to venture into. There is enough of this weird tension already, and you're not sure if Charles feels it too.
─────────
"Your girlfriend is beautiful," a lady is patting your hand, a gentle smile on her face as she looks at Charles. She's the spouse of another Ferrari team member, and the first thing she did was compliment your dress before even asking for your name.
"Oh, I'm not—"
"We're just friends," Charles clears up, gentle as well. "But y/n really is beautiful."
The woman raises both eyebrows and laughs, an 'oh you kids' snicker that isn't unkind. "Of course, of course."
It's the first time of many during this party that Charles has to say you're not in a relationship, and it seems to get easier every time the words come out of his mouth.
Although it's true, you're not sure why it nags at you.
You cry again during the couple's First Dance and verbally threaten Carlos to leave you alone as you wipe your tears carefully, doing your best to keep your makeup intact. He laughs, but takes your threat seriously and remains quiet. This whole Tom and Jerry thing is amusing but he doesn't want to actually make you angry.
A few songs in, after you're done bickering with Carlos and you have finished your third glass of champagne, Charles asks you to dance with him.
An slowed-down version of Sixpence's 'Kiss Me' plays as you take the dance floor. You blame your giddiness on the fact that you finished that flute of champagne in record time.
"What is it?" Charles questions, smoothly placing one hand on your hip while the other holds your palm. His thumb runs up and down the curve of your wrist.
"What if I step on your foot?" you retort, looking up at him. That's only one thing that makes you nervous, although you know how to dance. You took lessons for both Supercut and Parisian Valentine.
Laughter bubbles from Charles' chest and you join in, although this makes you even more nervous. It would be stupid to say you don't see how handsome he is, even if he's just your friend.
"I won't mind," Charles promises, and his fingers press a little harder against your hip bone.
"Okay, then."
It's obviously not a complicated endeavor to sway around the dance floor with Charles, he lets you set the pace, lacing your fingers together after you spin back to him.
"Thank you for coming with me, soleil," he says in a low voice. You can smell the alcohol in his breath although it's been a while since he stopped drinking, he still has to drive you back to your hotel. "I really missed you these two months."
"I love weddings. Thanks for inviting me," you squeeze his shoulder, the contrast of your manicured nails against his shirt distracts you momentarily from the fact that you can feel his breath against your jaw.
It's the second time today that you miss the chance to tell him you missed him too, and you know he notices it by the way he leans away.
The song ends before your tongue decides to respond to you again and Charles lets go of you. A few seconds feel like an hour as you stare at each other, unable—or unwilling—to say anything of what either of you really want to say.
"Care to dance?" a guy with longish hair and dark eyes is offering you his hand now, as a faster song starts and the lights around the room turn brighter.
You break eye contact with Charles and when you look at him again, he just nods, taking a step back to your assigned table.
"Sure," you tell the guy, a tense smile on your face. "Let's dance."
Tumblr media
The ride back to your hotel is silent again, and you're too tired to find a way to fill it.
Charles' energy has shifted and this makes your stomach turn. Your anxiety worsens every time you feel someone is 'off' towards you, and that someone being Charles makes it a hundred times worse.
He takes the elevator to your room with you, placing his hand gently in the middle of your bare back to let you in first.
"We're okay, right?" you whisper, looking at your distorted reflections on the silver wall of the cubicle.
You see Charles' reflection frown and then his face turns to you. "Of course we're okay, y/n. Is something wrong?"
You shake your head, the loose strands of your bun tickle your nape. "I'm just wondering."
Charles is never bothered by your need for reassurance, not even when he needs reassurance himself. That he's not being a complete and absolute moron by wanting the woman all the boys want to dance with, and holding onto that little slither of hope that he might have a chance with her. He's the one standing next to you after the party, still.
"We are okay. Didn't you have fun today?" he asks, pushing those thoughts aside. You're friends. Just friends.
"Of course I did!" you inhale sharply, "I just— nevermind." you take your hand to the back of your head, already tired of the half undone bun that threatens to give you a headache.
"I had fun. I always have fun when I'm with you," Charles follows you out of the elevator and down the hallway to the third door marked with a 3321.
You're still struggling to find the exact hairpin that holds your hairdo together, and Charles pinpoints it almost at the same time as you do, pulling it out swiftly to make your hair fall down your shoulders.
It's a meaningless gesture, Charles hasn't given it a second thought or stopped walking. But a shiver runs down your back as his knuckles graze your nape.
"Thanks, Charlie." You say, swallowing.
"Of course," Charles puts the pin inside the pocket of his trousers with a shrug.
You stand in front of the room for a minute, having a stare down again as you rub the back of your head.
"Thank you again for today, Charles." you're the one to break the silence, keycard already between your fingers. "I had a great time."
"I'm glad, soleil." Charles his dimples appear when he smiles and your breath hitches when he leans towards you. It feels like you've been showered with ice cold water. "Good night, y/n," he says and presses his lips against your cheek.
"Good night, Charlie," you wave him goodbye from the door as he walks back to the lift.
The feeling of his lips against your skin is there, even after you've washed your face and tucked yourself into bed.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
as you locked your phone and got up to let ellie in you felt bad for lying to dina even tho you really didn’t have any obligations to her. it still hadn’t hit you that you and dina were really done and you were fucking around with one of her best friends. but you couldn’t lie, it felt good to be with someone new and not someone who’s fucked you over time and time again.
shaking your head at your slowly declining thoughts you let ellie in and gave her a hug to which she took it upon herself to wrap her arms around your waist and sneakily (not) feel up on your ass and squeeze while pulling you into a heated kiss. you shuddered a moan into her mouth and reciprocated the kiss for a while before breaking it and looking up at her. she smiled and dove back in for more making you smile and let out a soft laugh.
“we’re supposed to be talking, not making out ellie” you smile into her incessant kissing before pulling back from her lips to look into her piercing green eyes. “i know, i know but i couldn’t help it” she kisses you one more time before moving to go sit on your light pink couch. you follow after her and sit facing her with your knees pulled into your chest before speaking, “ um so.. i know we both know how much drama this would cause if dina were to find out. and i think we should like slow down ? i don’t know but i feel like we’re moving very fast especially since i’ve just got of a relationship with dina, who’s you’re literal bestfriend and i feel super shitty right now and i wanna continue pursuing.. this .. thing? we have but-” you stopped yourself at the touch of ellie grabbing your hands to try and help calm you down before you drew in a deep breath and continued on with your rant and exposing how you feel. “but i feel like we should slow down, like no more fucking until we decide if this is something serious and not us just fucking around behind dina’s back” you exhaled deeply once you were finished saying what you needed to say and waited with bated breath to hear ellie’s response
she started nodding her head and said “yea, i agree. we are doing shit very unconventional and i don’t wanna hurt dina nor do i wanna hurt you. i really like you y/n and i want to actually see where this goes even if we are like super sexually compatible” she smirks at you as you groaned at her last statement. “ellie be so for real oh my god!” you laughed at her in embarrassment.
❥—————————————————————————————>
“ellie fuckkk-”
you honestly don’t know how you got in this position. at one point you and ellie were just talking and watching shows on netflix, trying to adhere to your rule of no fucking, but… that’s didn’t last long at all. ellie had (like always) brung some pre-rolls and decided you both should get high. it’s not like the last time y’all did that you both ended up naked under soft silken sheets in a penthouse apartment, but hey! you thought tonight would be different because you set some ground rules until you decided it wasn’t going to fast. you were wrong. as soon as ellie gave you a shotgun kiss it was over.
so now here you were, losing your mind over ellie’s tongue in your pussy. she was so good at sucking your soul and the tongue piercing didn’t help. you’ve already came like two times already and ellie would not let up. she said she’s just trying to make up for causing you so much emotional distress but you called bullshit. you weren’t complaining tho. ellie one of the best you’d ever had, almost better than dina. almost.
“ellie i can’t take itttt” you whined and pushed at her head. she was getting frustrated with how many times you kept trying to run and smacked your thigh before pinning them down by your ears. this girl had you to where you were unable to move and all you could do was take what she gave you. “i told yo ass to stop moving.” she emphasized her words with a harsh thrust of her fingers in your pussy before pistoning them and hitting that spongy spot that made your eyes roll back and your toes curl in pleasure.
all you could do was moan from the immense pleasure you were feeling. you know this whole arrangement was wrong but you couldn’t deny the way ellie made you feel.
“mmm i love this pussy baby” ellie moaned into your clit, still thrusting her slender but long fingers into your pussy. she raised her eyes to look at you. she found your eyes rolled into the back of your head and your mouth agape. your face was contorted in pleasure and she loved the sight of how her ministrations affected you. “you gonna cum baby? feel your pussy clenching all on my fingers” she chuckled at your pathetic state and you whimpered at the rapidly rising feeling of your orgasm approaching. “ellie shittt im close, don’t stop!” you grabbed ellie’s shoulders and digged your nails in at the feeling of her speeding up.
you were out of your mind. ellie was pounding her fingers into you so hard and fast that all that was on your mind was her. you weren’t thinking about dina and what would happen if yours and ellies escapades we’re to be found out. the combination of ellie fucking you with her fingers and making out with your clit pushed you over the edge with a piercing scream. “oh my godddd” ellie groaned into your pussy and pulled out her fingers before licking your cum off of them.
“you taste so good baby” she moaned and bent down to give you a deep kiss. you whimpered into her mouth while reciprocating and wrapping your arms around her neck. she pecked you on the lips one, two times before leaning back and smirking at you smugly. “oh fuck off!” you rolled your eyes and hit her upside the head with your pillow, she laughed in response and gave you another kiss.

“Ugh!” Vox groaned, slamming his glass down on the bar top of the penthouse. I looked over, about to ask him what was wrong, but he cut me off. “God fucking damnit! I hate Alastor so fucking much,” he growled, dragging his nails along the wood.
“Oh,” I said flatly, turning away from him again.
He paused for a moment and looked over at me. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked, sounding offended. “I have perfectly good reasons to hate him, you know.”
“Yeah, and I guess that gives you a free pass to talk about how much you hate him whenever you want, however much you want,” I said dryly, rolling my eyes. I opened my phone and started scrolling through it.
“If you have a problem with that you can just leave,” Vox muttered, returning to his drink. “Nobody is forcing you to stay.”
“Unfortunately you happen to be in my favorite room. You know, the living area. The place we’re supposed to share,” I said, giving him a look. “Which means everyone is supposed to be mindful of one another when we’re in this room.”
“Oh fuck off,” he said dismissively, waving his hand. “You’ve been spending too much time at the shitty hotel. This is Hell, sweetheart. Nobody gives two shits.”
“I care,” I replied. “If you have any sort of respect for the people you hang around, you’d care too. Are you saying you don’t respect me?”
“No! That’s not what I’m saying at all,” he said quickly, snapping his head in my direction. “Babe, you’re putting words in my mouth.”
“Really? The only words I ever hear coming from you are insults or complaints about Alastor,” I said coldly. “Am I really exaggerating when more than half our time together is just spent with you being in a bad mood?”
“I have every right to be upset!” He said, rising to his feet. “I can feel whatever way I want!”
“But you don’t get to push your misery onto other people,” I said firmly. “All I ever hear from you is shit about the hotel or Alastor, or just insults towards people in general. Within the past three weeks I’ve only received two compliments from you.”
“Oh,” he said, rolling his eyes. “That’s what this is about?” He huffed and crossed his arms, pacing around the room. “I’m sorry I can’t shower you in needless words all the time, sweetheart. I have better things to do than feed your ego.”
“Excuse me?” I asked incredulously. “What the fuck did you just say?”
“You heard me,” he said stiffly.
“I’m sorry, but I think that as your significant other, I deserve at least a little bit of attention. Again, I’ve only seen you in a sour mood, throwing insults all the time. I’m sorry I don’t want to deal with that bullshit,” I said, standing up. “I’m sorry I want more from this relationship than just your complaints. You want to know what else I’ve kept track of? You spend on average, eight hours with me a week. That’s a little over an hour everyday, and most of it spent being a little bitch. You’ve yet to give me a single ounce of affection while I’ve been going out of my way to listen to your ramblings, get you gifts and hugs and kisses.”
“I- that’s not fair!” He said.
“No! No, you do not get to speak right now. I’m talking. Shut your mouth and let me finish,” I snapped. “I’m clearly putting far more effort into this relationship than you are, and I’ve got nothing to show for it. Despite my best efforts to cheer you up or support you, it’s never enough! I don’t expect you to stop being pissed off just because I cook your favorite dinner, but a fucking thank you would be nice instead of being blatantly ignored!”
I dropped my book in his hand and started walking away. “I’ve tried to bring this up, but you always brush it off. Today? This was the last fucking straw,” I said harshly, opening the door. “Congratulations, Vox! You’re single again.” I slammed the door behind me.
“Wait- shit!” He yelled, trying to follow after me. He was too late.
A/N: idk what this is. I just felt like it. I think it’d be pretty annoying to hear him complain about Alastor nonstop 🤷‍♀️

“Jagi-ya? What are you doing?” your boyfriend asked, one eyebrow lifted in amusement.
The dancer was watching as you did a silly little dance with Hyunjin and I.n in the middle of the dance floor.
It looked kind if familiar but the moves were way to uncoordinated for him to recognized. Not just yours but the two members, who were just as tipsy as you were, as well!
Your eyes met his when you heard him talking to you. The purple lights were reflecting in them, making them shine brightly at him.
Confused by his sudden question, you stopped your movements entirely, head tilted to the side.
A whine came from your right where Hyunjin was still dancing to whatever song was playing at the moment.
“We’re dancin!” you happily showed him more of you dance moves.
“Oh I can see that baby! Question is what are you dancing?” Minho teased lightly before coming to aid you in what you were doing.
“Isn’t it obvious? It’s Maniac!”
He couldn’t, not laugh at the way you were pouting at him so cutely. Lips pursed while your eyes looked glassy from all the alcohol you had thus far.
Whatever that was, it was NOT Maniac! You weren´t a professional dancer like he was but the male knew that you knew the choreography way better than you showed him right now.
After all, it had been him; you begged to show you how it was done!
Never mind the fact that the song playing was not Maniac and not fitting with the moves you were trying.
“If you say so jagi!” he laughed, taking a sip from the beverage he was holding for you.
Minho didn´t know how many you had already, having lost count after the 4th one but he knew that you slowly but surely started to lose energy.
It had been a while since you had the chance of letting loose a bit and the after party of their last tour stop was a chance you gladly took!
Minho liked watching you enjoying yourself. It made him realize how much he had missed seeing you so carefree.
With all the touring and different schedules, the both of you haven´t had many chances to see each other or spend time together. And with the new comeback looming over their heads he liked to remember the little moments you to had together.
The already uncoordinated movements grew sluggish until you finally gave up.
Offering his hand to you, the dancer pulled you to his side.
Resting your head on his shoulder, you wrapped your arms around his slim waist.
You were tired and your boyfriend could see it just by glancing at you for a short moment.
“Wanna leave now?” being able to feel the shake of your head he sighed.
“Okay how about this, we leave and you can torture me all night with your ice cold feet while cuddling hm?”
That brought a reaction out of you.
You turned to face him. Scanning his face to see if he was tricking you but he looked genuine in the way he looked at you.
Feeling drowsy, you complied but not before emptying the drink he was still holding in one go. Minho didn´t know if he wanted to face palm or stuff your mouth with tissues. Or something else if he was being honest…
Knowing you were going to regret this later on, the male picked you up, carrying you out of the room. A small screech left your mouth at the sudden move.
Nodding at Chan, who was watching the little moment you had fondly, Minho excused the both of you. The members would surely take your purse back with them.
“Come on you big baby, let´s get you to bed!” the man whispered teasingly which resulted in another pout from you.
“M´not a baby…”
“Whatever you say! … My baby…”
The look he received made him weak in the knees. While not appreciating being called baby, you did like him saying you were his!
Pressing a gentle kiss to your pout was something he couldn´t resist.
Minho was glad that the party was in their hotel and not at the venue so he could carry you without worrying about STAY´s seeing something they´re not supposed to.
10 minutes later you were sat on his bed, wearing one of his shirts and your underwear.
The dancer had gotten some makeup wipes to clear your face of any makeup left on your skin.
“I can do that myself you know?” you said to the man sitting cross legged in front of you.
“Oh I know!”
“But you still won´t let me do it right?”
“Why won´t you just let me do this for you?”
This time it was him who whined making you giggle in delight.
Having Minho acting cute was something he seldom did.
Him being cute? Yes.
Him acting cute? Not really.
“You´re cute when you worry…”
“Who says I worry?” he scoffed slightly, taking another wipe to finish what he started.
You tilted your head, scrunching your face and pursing your lips.
“Shut up and kiss me please?”
Not being able to resist, Minho paused his wiping to kiss you gently.
“You really are me little Maniac!” he laughed as you playfully bit his lip.

Guilty as Sin ⚡︎ Max Verstappen
A/N: Hi! Back again with another one, this time it’s Max and guilty as sin! This is a little longer than the rest and it has a little crossover with the NFL, I hope you enjoy it!
Warnings: Arguing, a little smut. Joe being a jerk (no hate to Joe, he’s one of my faves but I needed a not so good boyfriend for this blurb)
Without ever touching his skin, how can I be guilty as sin?
Sitting cross-legged on the outdoor couch with your computer on the table you looked out at the Miami skyline with a smile. You and your boyfriend Joe had rented an apartment for the next week, Formula One was in town and you were trying to score some last-minute tickets. F1 Experiences had sent you a promotion email, the prices looked good and there were still tickets left, the offer was tempting and you were considering splurging on it. Thankfully, your job allowed you to pay for expenses such as these. You were about to buy the tickets when you received a message on Instagram. Upon opening it, you gasped and jumped off the couch screaming for Joe.
Joe ran out onto the balcony, looking bewildered, “Joe, Joe, Joe, oh my god, oh my god!” You shouted while slapping his chest. “Baby, are you okay?” he asked, concern flashing in his eyes. Unable to talk you showed him your screen, “Baby, this is huge! You better say yes!” he said hugging your waist. Grinning you typed a reply, “We’re going to the Miami Grand Prix!” You shouted and Joe whooped.
Panic set in and you started to pace around the living room, “I have nothing good to wear to a paddock club, this is going to be the end of me!” you exclaimed, “Baby, baby, hey, look at me” Joe said grabbing your shoulders to steady you. “We’re a short walk from the Brickell City Center let’s get changed and we’ll find something for you to wear,” he said. Smiling you kissed his cheek and ran out to get your laptop and into the bedroom, hastily grabbing some clothes and heading towards the bathroom.
Joe was laughing behind you and you heard him shuffle around the room. Things between you two had been rocky lately, he hadn’t had the best season with his calf injury and the wrist injury which forced him to sit out the remainder of the season. But things between you had shifted before all this, you had done your best to push the possibility that your relationship with Joe might be close to running its course. Dating him since the LSU days hadn’t been easy all the time, but you made it work throughout college, your internship in New York during his first-ever season in the NFL with the Bengals. Your careers had tested your relationship but you pulled through, and you were up to a few weeks convinced he was the man you wanted to marry. However, lately, this was not looking as clear as it had, Joe was distant with you most days.
Quality time between you was dwindling, you weren’t going out for dinner like you used to and had stopped doing many things together but you pushed the thoughts away for this week. Just one perfect week with Joe in Miami, and everything will be back on track. Your apartment was a short walk from the Brickell City Center mall so you made haste and got there in no time. A few hours later you walked out hand in hand with Joe who carried your bags full of outfits. You had insisted on paying for your own, but he refused and paid, which was why you had decided to buy him an outfit and some sunglasses you knew he had been on the hunt for.
With the bags on the bed, you started to plan your outfits and left them in the closet, Red Bull Racing had been in contact with you and your passes for the week would arrive tomorrow. They were nice enough to give you both access to media day and would send you a media pass with your journalist credentials. You figured you’d make the most out of the opportunity and take notes to report on the race week.
Excitement poured out of you and Joe took note of it, his stomach sank when he realized he hadn’t seen you like this in a while. Dawning on him, he started to see where he might’ve been faulty as of late and made a mental note to make this week the best and hopefully get back on track with you. Unbeknownst to Joe, he hadn’t stretched far back enough to realize he had been pulling away for months. You were sitting in the back of the car that was taking you both to the circuit.
Joe was scrolling on his phone and had barely paid attention to you, for most of the car ride, your driver followed the signs for the entrances assigned to the paddock club members and soon enough he had parked. “Joe we’re here!” you exclaimed and he snapped out of his daze to smile at you, he tipped the driver and informed him that he would call two hours in advance before leaving. With a smile, you thanked the driver and took Joe’s hand. “Hey Joey, do you think it would be weird if I ask Lewis for a picture with Red Bull passes on? You asked. “Don’t think so” he replied dryly. “Is everything okay?” you asked softly. “Yeah, why?” he asked. “Nothing, you were just a little dry, never mind,” you said quickly. Putting an arm around you, you walked and followed the signs for the paddock entrance and security greeted you.
There was a lane to get to the paddock so you walked through it and the entrance looked a thousand times bigger in your eyes due to your excitement. Scanning your passes you grinned as you stepped into the paddock. Joe reached for your hand and you walked past the photographers. A smile was plastered on your face and it got wider when you stepped into the football, More photographers called out to you upon seeing you two enter. The official f1 cameras were filming your entrance and you did a little wave, while Joe smiled.
The cameras left you alone and you spotted the Red Bull hospitality, you pointed it out to Joe and walked towards it. Some members of the team’s staff were outside and they greeted you, the social media admin who had contacted you, introduced herself and welcomed you inside. “Max and Checo should come by soon, help yourself to any drinks if you want,” she said. Smiling and thanking her, you turned to Joe. “I never thought I’d see the inside of the paddock, much less meet Max,” you said. “Cool, hey some of the guys are here,” he said not acknowledging what you had said. Getting slightly angry, you steeled yourself by counting backward from five. “Okay, can it wait until after?” you asked trying to hide as much of your annoyance as possible.
Was this man serious right now?
Figures approached you and you noticed it was Max and Checo, poking Joe his attention turned to the approaching drivers. “Hey, nice to see you guys!” Checo said. Joe extended his hand and shook Checo’s you did the same but greeted him in Spanish. Max was greeting Joe and he turned to you, “You must be y/n, it’s great you finally meet you. I’ve read your articles and they’re great!” Max said politely. “The pleasure is mine trust me, it’s great to know you liked them,” you replied politely. “Please you write the most competent pieces I’ve read, they should hire you in F1 already, you’d ask non-bullshit questions in the press conferences and interviews,” he said candidly and you laughed.
“She’s trying not to fangirl so hard but she goes insane on race weekends, she’s also raving about you,” Joe said and you blushed. “He’s exaggerating, don’t pay him much attention” you added and Joe laughed. Max smiled, “Seems like we’re all fans of each other,” he said to you both. You complimented Checo’s helmet and expressed your support while Max and Joe chatted and the admins took pictures of them. When you were done talking the admins wanted pictures with the four of you and you with Max while Joe took some with Checo.
Part of going out with Joe to sporting events included this, but you didn’t mind it as a sports journalist because this was pretty much what happened to you, when you attended events for work. “Some of the fins guys are here, I’m going to meet with them for a bit,” Joe said. “Okay, just don’t leave me alone all day please” you whispered. Without replying he left and you were alone with Max since Checo had media duties to fulfill.
Max had been done with his, and he decided to chat with you while showing you the paddock. Joe still wasn’t back and it was starting to bug you, “Do you have any projects lined up?” Max asked. “NFL-related not really, but I’m covering a little bit of hockey and the formulas,” you said with a smile. “Starting with us?” Max asked with a grin, “Yeah, and F1 academy, I have been writing a separate space on my blog for it and I’m excited to see the girls race!” You enthusiastically said. “I’ll get you a pass to the garages next door,” Max offered. “Oh that would be so great, thank you,” you said gratefully. “Do you need one for Joe?” he asked. “No, he seems to be busy at the moment” you replied in a serious tone.
“Ah I see, it’s a little rocky?” he asked. “You could say that, is it that noticeable?” you asked. “Not really, it is to me because I’ve been there before,” he replied before changing the topic which you were grateful for. Max had cracked a few jokes and your cheeks were red from the sun and from laughing, as he promised he would, a pass was handed to you and you thanked him. Slipping the purple lanyard on you exited the F1 paddock and made your way to the F1 garages, making sure your journalist credentials were visible.
The reigning world champion couldn't help but look at your retreating figure, desperately he’d wanted to ask for your number but the more rational side of him was holding him back. She is off-limits, even for me. He could tell your relationship seemed rocky but he would settle for just friends, of course, that all depended on you being open to it. But you were so beautiful, and it pissed him off that your boyfriend was nowhere near you. If I was him, I would be worshipping the ground you walked on.
Charles Leclerc approached him outside of the hospitality before doing the little drill the Miami Dolphins had prepared for them. Noticing his sudden halt in conversation he followed Max’s gaze to see it trained on you and smiled knowingly. “Ah, she’s Burrow’s girlfriend right?” he asked and Max nodded, his speech coming back to him slowly. “Y-yeah, they’re Red Bull’s guests” he replied and Charles smiled. “You like her,” he whispered. “She has a boyfriend,” Max replied quickly. “Yet you didn’t deny it,” he said before patting his shoulder and leaving.
Spotting Braxton you greeted him, smiling he beckoned you over and you greeted his teammates. “Tell me have you seen my boyfriend around? He left me stranded” you whispered. Braxton looked at you apologetically, “He was with us in the paddock club, I think he’s still there” he said. “Okay, thanks Braxton,” you said and didn’t move. Max went over to you and introduced you to the other drivers.
Heading back to the Red Bull hospitality you stood on the balcony and watched the drivers go through the drill, it was funny to see them a little out of their element. Joe had miraculously deigned to appear and he put his arm around you, you leaned into his touch and talked in hush tones, still, you couldn’t ignore the sinking feeling in your stomach.
Days had passed after the Grand Prix and you guys were at Joe’s beach house in California, things hadn’t changed and you were feeling like it was time to call it quits. To distract yourself you had gone out to surf and had just come back, sitting on the porch with your feet on the railing you closed your eyes and listened to the ocean breeze. Joe was calling out to you and hadn’t heard him until now. “What?” you called back walking into the house. “Did you go to the beach and didn’t tell me?” he asked irritated. “Joe I told you I was going out for a surf, you didn’t reply because you were busy doing god knows what and I left” you replied crossing your arms. “Well, do you want to go back?” he asked. “No Joe, I’m tired,” you said flatly. “Whatever, I’m going out for a run,” he said with a sigh and turned around. The door slamming shut made you jump and you noticed a package addressed to you. Grabbing it you went upstairs and tossed it on your bed, before showering.
Sitting down you opened it and noticed it was a RedBull PR package with a note addressed to you from Max. With a smile you read the note and opened the box, taking a picture of it you posted it on social media and tagged Max and the team, thanking them. Feeling tired you set the box aside and decided to take a nap. Waking up in cold sweat you let out a sigh and ran your hands through your hair. You were feeling guilty for your dream, why am I dreaming of someone else and not Joe?
Shaking your head you decided to splash cold water on your face, and once again the image flashed in your brain. Max’s eyes were raking your body at an agonizingly slow pace, his hands were firm as they held you by the waist before he leaned in to give you the most teasing of kisses that left you wanting more. This is bad, stop thinking about him. Why hadn’t Joe touched me like this in months? Am I a bad girlfriend for thinking this? There’s no such as bad thoughts, only your actions talk
Joe had come back from his run and you had decided you needed to talk, “We need to talk” you said sternly. “About what?” Joe asked, “Us,” you said swallowing the lump in your throat. “I need you to be fucking honest Joe, no bullshit. Do you not want to be with me anymore?” you asked. Joe looked at you surprised, “Baby, why are you asking this shit?” he asked. “Answer the question please,” you said as your voice cracked a little and you cursed yourself. “I- y-yes,” he replied but he was hesitant and that told you all you needed to know. “Tell me, when was the last time we felt like a couple and not to people drifting away?” you responded. “Last week, we went out,” he said not answering the question.
“That was the Miami Grand Prix, and you left me alone the entire week Joe! Do you know what that felt like? It felt fucking awful” you said fighting back a sob. “It was just a slip-up, baby. We’ll get back on track. I promise” he said while reaching for you and his gaze hardened a little, your heart felt like it was being ripped out of your chest. “Joe, have you even realized that we’ve been pulling apart for months?” “I don’t think it’s been months, you’re being dramatic!” he said raising his voice a little. Scoffing you turned around and headed up the stairs, blinking tears away. Joe was behind you and followed you into the bedroom, you were blindly throwing things in your suitcases. “What the fuck are you doing?” he asked. “Packing,” you replied dryly. “We can work this out, we can go to couples therapy, I can be better. Don’t fucking do this” he pleaded. “Joe I’m tired! I’m tired of feeling like a fly on the wall, you haven’t treated me like your girlfriend in months and I thought that you needed space after recovering and I gave you space but you just feel a million miles apart and I can’t do this!” You exclaimed as you looked at him with tears spilling out of your eyes. His eyes landed on the box, “Is it because of him?” he asked.
You scoffed, “No it’s because of you, I’m done Joe,” you said tossing the box in your last suitcase and zipping it up. Grabbing them you refused his help and went downstairs. “You know what sucks most, I thought you were the man I wanted to marry one day,” you said and his head dropped. “For what it’s worth, I had the best years of my life with and I will always wish you well,” you said softly. “Please, I’ll retrace my steps, and make it up to you” he pleaded. “Retrace them but we’re done Joe,” you said as you looked at him one last time. “Can we at least be friends?” he begged. You shook your head, “It would hurt us too much, goodbye Joe” you said as you opened the door. You had called no cab but you took your luggage to the end of the sidewalk and called for one.
Hanging up you couldn’t help but break into a sob, when the cab got there you asked to go to the airport and booked a ticket to the first flight out to France. This was how you had ended up in Nice hours later. Joe hadn’t made an effort to call you and that made you feel worse. Your relationship had run its course and you wanted to forget everything and just erase years worth of memories and feelings. Little did you know that something as silly as an Instagram story of your hotel room views would catch Max’s attention.
Messaging Max you told him you were in Nice and he asked if you had any plans, to which you replied you didn’t. You considered him your friend and decided to accept his proposition to meet him in Monaco. Looking like less of a mess, you put one of your favorite dresses on and got ready, taking the train you met him out of the station. “What’s wrong?” he asked. “Nothing!” You exclaimed and faked a smile, he didn’t buy it. “You called it quits with Joe?” he asked. Not bothering to deny you nodded, “Come with me to the races, I’ll get you a pass. As your friend, I don’t want to leave you alone,” he said. “Max, I can’t,” you said. “Why?” he asked. “Because-” you said stopping in your tracks. “I have no place to stay, I packed all my life into suitcases what do I do with that? I can’t just jet-set and leave!” you said. “Stay with me then,” he said as if it was the easiest thing in the world. Noticing your hesitation he turned to you, “Please, I have a spare room. No one lives with me, I can help you get your things and when you don’t feel like coming with me you can stay. Just until you sort everything out” he said. Giving in you nodded.
Determined to help lift your spirits Max took you out to eat and for a walk around the principality. Afterwards, he drove to Nice and helped get your things and settle into his apartment. Weeks had passed and you had taken Max up on the offer to attend races with him as his friend. Certain gossip accounts had gotten wind of your split with Joe and your presence in the races alongside the Dutchman.
People had started to speculate but you ignored them, your friendship with Max had evolved and feelings had been developing but you never acted on them. You liked Max, and you were certain that he felt the same way. Tonight was your last night in Singapore, your hotel room was dark and you couldn’t sleep. Reaching for your phone you looked at the clock, it was 2:25 am. Sighing you sat up and headed towards the bathroom to splash water on your face. Debating knocking on Max’s door you pondered the option for a few minutes. Hesitant steps carried you next door, knocking once the door immediately swung up, revealing a shirtless Max. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice showing no hint of sleep. Suddenly, you felt self-conscious, “I can’t sleep,” you said, “Me neither” he replied. Leading you in he closed the door behind him and locked it.
Taking a seat on his bed, you fiddled with the hem of your oversized shirt, Max looked at you before taking a seat next to you, and motioning you to move closer to him. Both of you sat facing each other. Oh how badly he wanted to admit you had been plaguing his dreams, he didn’t mind it but he just wished they were no longer dreams. Forcing the thoughts away he talked to you in a soft voice, minutes had passed and he couldn’t help but look at your lips. You noticed and tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear.
“Fuck it,” his voice was hoarse and he reached out to you, kissing you as if his life depended on it. Your hands felt around in the darkness and found their way to his neck, you kissed him back and you pulled away breathless. His blue orbs were taking you in, a chill ran up your spine, this was starting to look like a familiar scene. Max initiated the second kiss and it was much rougher than the first, his hands were holding tightly onto your waist and you shifted to sit on his lap, you bit his lip and he groaned. Pulling apart his eyes slowly raked your body, his fingers slipped under your shirt and his touch sent shivers up your body.
“Max, Max” you said pulling apart and panting, he called out your name, and god, it felt so fucking right. “Don’t stop” you said in a low voice, he chuckled, “Only if you ask me to, Schat”. What if it feels like a vow, we’ll both uphold somehow? His kisses `never faltered, he was holding you ever so delicately, your back met his pillows, and your shirt was discarded on the floor. Heat rushed to your cheeks as his eyes raked over you, his hands hadn’t left your waist, reaching up you pulled him by the neck and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. Breaking away he started kissing your neck as his hands roamed your body, you sighed and he smiled while leaving wet kisses down your chest. You could tell he was testing the waters and you simply wanted him to dive in, “M-Max” you said. “I’m taking my time Schatz,” he said and you mentally cursed him. Bringing him up you kissed him and couldn’t stop the moan that left your lips when his hand found your thigh.
Max groaned, he had heard you once already and he was counting on hearing you again. Clothing was on the floor, his hand spread your legs apart and he looked at you, “Schatz” he breathed out. “Yes,” you replied, with a soft pant. That was all the reassurance he needed. It had been so long since you had felt like this and you welcomed every feeling, without holding back. Everything built up like waves and came crashing down. “What if he’s written mine on my upper thigh?”

Any house is free to join House Targaryen for Jacaerys bridal choosing celebration starting on the first day of the next moon cycle these festivities will last-
You can't be bothered to remember the rest of the dreaded letter your family had received along with the rest of the seven kingdoms. Yet another bump in the road brings yet another sigh to rise from your throat. “I don’t see the point in this mother.” Your mother scoffs as she continues to stare out the window, “we are a minor house with little funds, little land and nothing to offer. I must ask once again… why we are wasting our time with this.” The words you speak are true, House dunn a minor house from the reach had barely anything to offer anyone especially not the heir to the iron throne. Your mother turns to you with a glare, “Do not speak about our house like that.” the look on your face makes your mother sigh and soften her face, “look, sweetheart, maybe we can’t impress the prince but there will be numerous other lords there for you to impress, either way i have a feeling we will come out of this moon cycle with your betrothal set.”
You throw your head back with a groan, “Why must i be betrothed now i am still young-” Your mothers face turned back into her hardened glare to which you turned to your father who sat next to her, staring out the window. “Father” he sighs, “you must make her see reason there is no point in this-” “there is no arguing with your mother you know this better than i.” with a sigh of defeat you lean back in your seat as your mother thanks her husband.
Kings Landing is within sight now as you turn back to look out the window, the place you’ll sit and watch as all the young (and even old) women of the court throw themselves at the young prince ‘we’re not even there yet and i cannot wait to go home’
The carriage stops suddenly causing you to still up. Your father sticks his head out of the window, “what's happened?” “A tree is blocking the path lord… I do not believe I can move it.” Curious, you move to look out the other window and see a rather large tree blocking the path and the surrounding area. Your father groans before he answers, “Is there another path we can take?” “Of course sir but it would take much longer to see it-” you turn to your mother with a small grin who gives you a pointed look, “See mother this is a sign from the gods that we should not be here!” She glares and sticks her head out the window, “Take the other path and take it now before we miss the opening introduction.” Defeated you fall back as the carriage begins to move once more.

The throne is cold, colder than expected. With each fake smile and extravagant gift accepted, Jacaerys could feel the chair poking him as if to tell him his false actions and words are not appreciated. His lips are almost sore from the amount of hands he’s had to kiss, his cheeks hurt from the fake smile that has sat on his face, He could even argue that his eyes hurt from having to watch as these ladies try their best to impress him and the angry looks from their mothers or the pointed looks from their fathers that turned into large and proud smiles had the prince turned in their direction ‘when will this end? How did mother do something this humiliating for months?’ He remembers when his mother proposed (more like insisting) this event in Jacaerys honor. The council quickly approved as they felt Jace was old enough to marry and it would show the strength and unity of the realm if they all gathered for a ceremony like this. He remembers when the rest of the family was told, “So he’s going to be paraded around the keep like a prized pig.” Aegon giggles and receives a sharp look from his mother. His brothers weren't any better, Luke especially teased his brother as Joffrey laughed along. “The festivities should be fun, it’ll be nice to see them keep so lively.” Jacaerys gives Helaena an appreciative smile, she is able to tell he is beginning to feel upset.
This morning in his room as the servants were finishing up with getting him ready for today his mother had come into the room and shooed away the servants who bowed as they left, “your grace.” “there's no need for that jacaerys im your mother.” She walks over to him as he looks in the mirror, she puts her hands on his shoulders. “I had to do something similar as a younger lady.” Rhaenyra starts, she moves her hands to the top of his head gently stroking it, “You’re lucky I had to leave home for a couple of months.” She says with a grin as she tries to joke with him but with his shoulders tensing up and his face hardening she can tell he did not take it that way. “I will not let you down your grace.” she sighs as she turns him towards her, puts her hands back on his shoulders. “Jace.” she says and his face softens, “Relax.” He sighs as he looks down, not being able to look at his mother, his queen, the women he is supposed to follow in the footsteps of, in the face. “I Just don’t want to let you down.” She grabs his face softly and makes him look at her in the eyes, “there’s nothing you could do to let me down my sweet, all you need to do is face the day my son.”
He closes his eyes and relaxes once more as his mothers words ring in his head, ‘relax’ “i believe that's everyone my prince.” a genuine smile finds its way onto his face as he stands to address the crowd. He scans the crowd as he thinks ‘no one was memorable, they have three daughter i only remember two, was she always wearing that dress i thought it was blue no maybe i'm mixing her up with someone else’ He stops his own thoughts with a clap of his hands and everyone turns to look at him, “I thank everyone who has come today with my greatest appreciation, i hope everyone enjoys these festivities-” his speech was interrupted with a band as the doors shot open.

“I cannot believe we’ve almost missed it!” your mother says as she pulls your arm through the halls quickly following the guard leading them there, “you’re hurting me-” “oh shush and hurry.”  “I am hurrying.” You grumble but shut up as your other arm is holding a heavy book knowing you're unable to stop her. With another tug at your arm from your mother as her feet quicken as you race through the large halls. Your father follows closely behind with a thoughtful look on his face and his arms full of a rather large bouquet of flowers, though you’re unable to ask as you arrive at the main hall, your mother turns to you and fixes your hair lightly and your father hands you the large bouquet and the door opens with a large bang. All the heads whip back towards you and you feel your skin burn from all the stares. “It seems we’re rather late.” your father mumbles and receives a quick slap to the arm from your mother as she smiles at the crowd.
“House Dunn my prince there was an incident on the road.” Your father smiles at the guard as your mother pushes you forward, “you first.” she mumbles in your ear as you walk forward with your head down. The eye’s continue to follow as you make your way to the front of the room before the throne. “Your grace.” your father says as you all bow. “We are so sorry for the late arrival-” your father continues but you aren't listening to him you can't not when you can hear the people around you. “Is she really wearing that?” “house dunn? I've never heard of such a house” “why would you bring the crowned prince a book of all things? It looks old even how terrible " "I bet they can’t afford anything better.” “flowers? Why would anyone bring a boy flowers?” The skin on your body suddenly feels hot, your face burns and the dress you wear feels tight. You want to leave. You’re brought back by your mother taping you on the back, “My daughter,” Your father presents you. Dreadfully, you lift your head to face the prince. You give you a curious look as you bow down once more, “your grace.”
He walks down the steps before the guard next to him can stop him and takes the book from your hands. “Might I ask you what this book is about, My lady?” Your face continues to burn as he inspects it. The words of the people in the room ring around in your head. “It's an old history book, your grace.” The whispers start once more as you continue but his eyes remain locked on you, “I got it during my time in Pentos, the shopkeeper said it contains history that remains unwritten in many of the texts of westeros. I've read it numerous times in a fascinating read-'' The words you say suddenly sound ridiculous to you and you stop, “Many apologies for your grace.” A larger smile graces his face if you were anyone else you would believe to be genuine. “There is nothing to apologize for I am sure I shall enjoy reading it as well.” you cannot meet his eyes as he passes off the book to one of the guards and eye’s the flowers in your hands. “I assume these are for me as well.” He sounds assumed and takes them from you before you could let out a quiet yes.
“They are White Clovers, your grace.” You say before he can ask, “ These grow on the outskirts of our lands. Every flower has a meaning. I picked these myself specifically for today…” Before you can blurt out more your mother pinches you on the arm. You can hear the quiet gasps of the women around you. ‘She picked them herself, how barbaric.’ Your skin is starting to hurt from how much it is burning, resisting the urge to run out of the room you take a small step back. His look turns thoughtful as he continues to stare, “and what does this mean?” he fills in the gap you left with a small step forward of his own. “Remembrance, I hope you shall remember me, my prince.” Your voice is small as you watch him give off the flowers and lift your hand to grace it with a kiss. “I shall, my lady.”
You finally meet his eyes in shock, you lose your voice for a second as you look into his mesmerizing eyes you feel as though you could get lost in them, the brown of his eyes captivates. You take in the rest of his face as well, he is much more handsome than you expected, the type of handsome you will never forget. The smile his face holds makes him look even better, he looks like a prince from the storybooks you read as a younger girl. You feel envious of the women who he will choose as she will get to wake up and stare at his face for as long as she shall wish.
He smiles at you once more before he turns to your father, “Thank you for coming.” Your father smiles and says some more but you cannot wait. You rush a bow and move quickly to the back of the room; the eyes are still following you; it feels like an itch that you cannot scratch.  Jacaerys closes out the ceremony but you cannot be bothered to pay attention to his words as all you want to do is to leave once he closes out and he moves to leave you rush to leave but cannot help but take one more glance at the prince, out of the corner of your eye you swear you saw him take a look at you as well.
------
a/n: I wanted to make this gn! Reader but i felt like fem reader made more sense sorry :( I chose house Dunn for the house as it has no prominent figures yet has a signet so you can feel free to insert whoever you want! still a little rusty from not having written in forever so sorry in advance. For some clarity I'm basically going off the fact that Otto doesn't succeed and Rhaenyra is named queen, everyone lives in the keep and are happy and alive . Also Baela is never betrothed to Jace but Rhaena and Luke are betrothed! Aemond and Helaena are married instead because Aegon doesn't deserve her.

It’s weird being in the office without her. She flew out to Colorado with Reid last night, the two of them stayed in a hotel (one with two queen beds this time) and she texted him this morning before she headed out for the case. He missed her. He missed picking her up this morning. He missed their coffee banter and how every morning without fail she got the same breakfast that always left his car smelling like a buttery croissant.
He smiles to himself as he thinks about her. He wonders how she’s doing, he can’t wait to call her tonight and catch up… hopefully, the interviews don’t take more than a day. He’d miss her too much if he didn’t get to see her tomorrow too. Maybe he could pick them up from the airport? No. She drove herself and Reid there, so maybe he’ll bring her a baked good and they can watch TV together? Either way, he wanted to see her as soon as she got home.
When they were approached by Colorado child protective services, they received a copy of the 911 call that sparked the investigation and a short summary of the alleged unsub. Libertarian cult leader, Benjamin Cyrus of the Fringe Religious group called the Separatarian Sect. was being accused of being inappropriate with the young teenage members. The age of the caller who made the 911 call is 15. This was a crime, no matter what the libertarians personally believed, under Colorado state law, he was breaking the law by having any kind of sexual interaction with a minor.
Sending Y/N and Spencer was a no-brainer. They couldn’t send JJ because she was pregnant, but they wanted a woman there to make the children feel safe. Spencer went because he’s memorized the entire bible and most historical quotes, he’d be able to deal with a libertarian cult leader the easiest. He had faith in—
“HOTCH!”
With his door open, he’s able to hear Morgan's scream even better, he’s immediately up and out of his seat, rushing towards the door when he notices everyone watching the TV.
“The TV, Y/L/N and Reid,” he points to the screen.
The report on screen is standing a few miles from the compound, showing footage from a raid and cutting back to his face as he speaks. “No one knows for sure how many people are inside. It is believed that at least three child service members are still trapped inside the compound.”
His heart drops into his stomach as if he just fell 30 feet in 10 seconds. His eyes widen, he steps towards the railing outside his office and grips the metal pole for dear life.
This can’t be happening.
She can’t get hurt.
He can’t lose her too.
Just then every single phone in the office starts to ring, he’s pulled back to reality and he catches his breath, “alright, that means we’re the lead with Hostage Rescue and Support. Let’s go!”
He runs to his office and grabs his go bag, he shoves his phone in the bag, makes sure his gun is still on his hip and his badge and wallet in the back pocket of his suit pants. He doesn’t bother bringing his suit jacket, he honestly doesn’t even remember to take it as he bounds down the stairs and runs to the elevator.
They all rush to the plane as quickly as possible, it’s always fueled and ready to go, so getting into the air takes less than 15 minutes. Once in the air, they open up their laptop and Penelope patches over a live feed of the Colorado news.
“It turned deadly when the Colorado state police officers tried to serve a warrant. Colorado attorney general, Jim Wells, says the reclusive cult has been the subject of a 6-month weapons investigation”
“6 months?” Morgan repeats. “We didn’t check?”
“Oh, we did,” JJ pipes up, visibly pissed. “I had ATF call Wells and he told ATF there were no pending state investigations. He lied.”
“Why?” Rossi asks, not understanding why he’d lie about that.
“Wells is challenging the governor in the upcoming election,” JJ explains. “He thought that ATF were going to poach his big election-launching weapons bust. Now, it’s clear he didn’t know there were FBI agent’s there, he just thought the best time to serve a state warrant was when the kids were safe inside the school being interviewed.”
“What do we know about the sect?” Rossi poses the question to the group.
Penelope, listening in on a video call the whole time, flips the screen from the news to her face. “Liberty Ranch was founded in 1980 by Libertarian Leo Kane. He created it as a self-sustaining commune.”
“Libertarians believe that everyone has the right to do what they want as long as they aren’t infringing not eh rights of others,” Derek points out.
“But libertarians aren’t religious,” Dave reminds them. “Clearly this sect abandoned libertarian principles.”
Aaron takes a deep breath, he’s still anxious, and his heart is racing but he has to get his head in the game. “Benjamin Cyrus, the current leader, introduced religion 8 years ago when Kane left.”
“Garcia, what do we got on Cyrus?” Derek asks her.
“Oh, we got bupkis,” she sounds disappointed. “It's like the guy never cast a shadow on the known universe… however his predecessor, Leo Kane, is doing a 17-year stretch at Deerfield Federal Prison… apparently libertarians do not like paying taxes.”
“17 years for tax evasion?” Derek laughs.
“Oh no, that would be 2 years for tax evasion and 15 years for going after four IRS agents with a Louisville Slugger…” Garcia pressed her lips together awkwardly, what a dumb crime to commit.
“Let’s have Kane brought to the scene,” Hotch instructs her to get the paperwork going. “He’s our best chance at finding out some idea of who we’re dealing with.”
“You got it,” she cheerfully agrees and turns off her camera.
They all settle into their plane seats then. It was a 3-and-a-half-hour flight, all he could do was prep negotiation teams and worry about Y/N. He worried for Reid's safety too, of course, Spencer was like a son to him… his heart just yearned for Y/N and after losing Kate, he can’t bare going through that kind of loss again and so soon.
He felt as though he was destined to only know what it was like to be left, not loved. He had such a tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, being high school sweethearts also came with high school drama. He graduated a year before her, he was in college and she wanted to see other people. So they took their first break. He was doing law school and she was in teacher's college and they took a second break because his studying took up too much of his time and she felt as though she needed physical attention he couldn’t give her… then he went to Scotland Yard, back when he didn’t know if he wanted to work for Interpol or the FBI and once again distance caused them to go on break a 3rd time. He met Kate Joyner, they had a thing and when he returned to the States he asked Haley to marry him. He should’ve known that she would run once his attention shifted to things other than her. He thought maybe having a baby would change that about her. He thought maybe she loved him— loved their family enough to stay.
He was wrong.
Now he’s divorced, Kates dead and… and he thinks he might be falling in love with his subordinate.
He takes a moment to go to the bathroom on the jet just for a chance to get away from everyone. He leans against the sink and puts his hands over his face, shaking his head with disbelief. It all happened so fast. One minute they’re co-workers and he enjoys working with her and the next she was filling the void in his heart. Mind you, he knew her when he was married, he didn’t have the capacity to see her as anything other than a friend… now that’s all changed.
He took the ring off and his heart searched for warmth. For comfort. For morning coffees and laughter on the drive to work. For late-night chats and gossip about celebrities. For a hand to hold. For a body to cuddle into in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. For someone to care for him. For Y/N.
He doesn’t know how he’s going to do this. How he’s going to stay calm and cool and collected while he knows she’s in there? He doesn’t know what he’ll do if she’s hurt. He isn’t sure how he’ll make judgements and do the negotiations knowing that every decision he makes could have consequences.
He heads back to his seat to see everyone else is also doing their best to stay calm. They all love Reid and Y/N, and each of them wants to bring their friends home in one piece… he’s not alone in being anxious and worrying for their safety. Maybe he can play it off, maybe they won’t guess he loves her in a way that differs from how they do.
Once they land they’re met with bureau issues SUVs and given an escort to the crime scene, all their sirens on, they speed down back county roads causing dust to fly behind them and rocks to flick up from under their wheels, hitting the car behind them.
When they arrive at the Hostage Negotiation and Support Command Centre, Aaron lets Morgan and JJ head in to set up and he pulls Dave aside. “They’ve left the choice of negotiators up to me.”
“I taught most of the hostage negotiation unit,” Dave reminds him. “You want a recommendation?”
“I’m making you lead negotiator.”
“Me?” Dave can’t believe him.
“why go to the students when I have the teacher,” he simplifies his decision.
“because the teacher is emotionally involved,” Dave spits back. “So is the agent in command.” He stares Aaron down, watching for any facial moment that would give way to just how much he cares for Y/N. Of course, he knew.
He gives in, looking down to the ground, he can’t explain how much this is hurting him. “I know I am. This is a unique situation. We have two agents who could affect the outcome on the inside.”
“True, but I can’t be objective. I know them too well!”
“This outcome depends as much on our ability to predict the moves of Y/N and Reid as much as it does Cyrus,” Aaron explains. “That’s why you’re the best man for the job.”
“Assuming that Spencer and Y/N—” he puts weight on her name to make Aaron know he caught that. The use of her first name and Spencer's last, it’s a hierarchy of needs. He knows Aaron subconsciously wants her safe just the tiniest bit more than Reid. “Are still in a condition to make moves.”
“I-I know how bad this is,” Aaron says, voice dropping down to a whispered tone. “That’s why I want you doing the talking. I need you doing the talking.”
“Alright,” Dave gives—.
“You’re obviously not in charge, I can see that!!!” A man's voice bellows through the air.
“I’m sorry sir, I’m under direct orders from the FBI,” one of the hostage negotiation team members explains.
“I’m the attorney General of this state, I demand to know why I wasn’t told the FBI was sending undercover agents into the Separatarian Ranch?”
It’s Wells. The man who got them stuck in the position, to begin with.
Aaron starts walking away from Dave, driven by anger, he walks right up to the man. “The only thing that you’re in a position to demand is a lawyer.”
“Who the hell are you?” The man asks as if he’s about to laugh at Aaron's voice of authority.
“I’m Aaron Hotchner, Unit Chief. I’m the guy who’s going to tell the Attorney General of the United States whether to charge you obstructing a federal investigation of negligent homicide,” Aaron spits back, getting more in this man's face.
“You can’t talk to me like that.”
Aaron takes another step in, towering over the man, “Get off my crime scene.”
And just like that, the man cowers, running away to his car and driving away.
Aaron turns to the other man, the one who was trying to answer Wells’ questions before. Aaron knew him from the bureau. “Hey Dan, you know Dave Rossi?”
“Sure do,” Dan smiles, reaching over to shake Dave's hand.
“We’ve been here before, haven’t we?” Dave jokes.
“Waco, Ruby Ridge, Freeman standoff,” Dan recounts. “Let's hope someone listens to you guys this time.”
“Oh, they did more than listen. They put us in charge,” Dave announces, hands on his hips, ready to go.
“So bring us up to speed?” Aaron asks.
“I've sent the state police packing. They started this mess and lost a man in the process. I hope that’s okay?”
“If you hadn’t we would’ve.”
“Good.”
“The county Sheriffs have had no run-ins with the sect, so we’re using them as support. We’ve had no contact with them so far. they’re got power. Solar. We can shoot out the panels if you think—
“No, no that’s an escalation,” Dave shoots that down.
“Okay, that means they have access to the news,” Dan reminds them.
“I’ll get JJ to talk to the press. Are your men ready to be briefed?” Aaron asks. Dan nods. “Let's go.”
Inside the trailer they’ve set up for secure meetings, Derek, Dave and Aaron start to give the preliminary profile and brief. There’s only a handful of men, which is best. Having too many cooks in the kitchen leads to chaos. 6-10 people, that’s much more manageable.
“We call this the Minimal Loss scenario,” Dave explains. “Every person we get out is a life saved. We won’t save them all. All of us have t be prepared to accept that situation.” He looks over at Hotch and then presses his lips together awkwardly.
Derek steps up to the whiteboard and picks up a marker, “cults are structured like pyramids.” He explains while drawing a triangle on the board. “You got the leader at the top, die-hard believers beneath… and the biggest group, the base. The followers.” He makes a point to circle that group and look at the other men. “Women and children are in this group. These are the people we can save.”
“The ‘trickle, flow, gush’ strategy is designed to get the base followers out,” Aaron explains. “First one or two, then three or four, then as many as we can, as fast as we can. And if at any point it starts to go bad. We go in.”
“The leaders are charismatic sociopaths who target the most susceptible to their seduction. They have the ability to see what each person needs and then they become that thing. We have to undermine their perception that we’re an invading army laying siege to their homes,” Dave explains.
“We’ll lose the fatigues,” Dan assures them. Losing the army look will make them much more approachable. “Ranchers clothes work for you? Like we did at the Freeman standoff?”
“Perfect. Anything we can do to demilitarize the situation,” Dave agrees. “But that’s about it… we have to make first contact and then we can act accordingly from there.”
“We have a phone set up for you guys outside by the lookouts,” Dave explains. “Nightfall is coming, they’ll be the most in need when it’s dark. We should call then.”
“Agreed,” Aaron nods.
--
Dave hits the speed dial button for the ranch, they wait for 5 or 6 rings and then they answer. “you killed my mommy and daddy, are you going to kill me too?” A little girl's voice answers, on speakerphone for everyone to hear.
“No one is going to kill you, honey,” Dave assures.
“This is Benjamin Cyrus, who am I talking to?” Comes down the line mere seconds later.
“David Rossi. I’m an FBI agent. We’ve sent the state police away, there’s just us and the local sheriff now. All we want to do is resolve this before anyone else gets hurt,” he explains.
“Then leave us alone.”
“I’m afraid we can’t do that, Benjamin, one of the police bled out on the way to the hospital,” he explains, wondering if they haven’t watched the news yet. “So let's just stop this before things get worse. Please, just put the guns down and come out.”
“we’re believers Dave,” Benjamin starts. “We believe that god says what he means and means what he says. His laws don’t depend on what state you live in.”
“I have no issue with your beliefs,” Dave reminds him.
“You don’t. But the state does,” Benjamin is clearly pissed off that any of this happened today.
That makes two of them.
“I can’t answer for other people,” Dave states.
“God will answer for everyone in the final battle that I’ve foreseen.”
Aaron sighs, leaning his head back and shaking it. He hates these religious types. Rossi makes eye contact with him as he keeps talking, “That’s why I’m here. To make sure that this is not that battle.”
“We shall see…”
Sounds more like a taunt.
“Now the three child services workers—
“one is dead,” Benjamin interjects.
Aaron's heart sinks down to his stomach further, he feels like he could be sick. They all have the same look on their faces.
“It wasn’t us,” Ben assures them. “It happened in the standoff, a stray bullet flying into our chapel clipped her.”
“We need a name, so I can alert the family,” Dave explains. Hoping to pry it out of him.
“Nancy Lund,” he says and everyone lets a wave of relief selfishly pass over themselves.
“Okay, now please, Benjamin, send out your wounded. I promise you they’ll be taken care of,” Dave asks. Trying to start the trickle.
“With enough supplies, we can tend to our own,” Benjamin explains. They’re not leaving any time soon.
“Okay, I need a few hours to put it together,” he explains. “I’ll bring them up myself at first light.”
Without a goodbye or a thank you, Cyrus hangs up.
They head back into the trailer after that, prepping med kits and retrofitting any electronics that get sent in with small microphones so they can spy on their every movement and plan. Aaron’s just excited for the chance to hear her voice again and know she’s okay.
“I’m going to go in and double-check that the kids, Y/L/N and Reid are okay,” Dave announces as he walks back into the trailer.
“Rossi, at least let me go with you?” Derek bags.
“No,” he shakes his head. “This is about building trust. I go alone.”
“I want the parabolic arc mics fixed on every window in that structure,” Dan announces to the rest of his crew.
“They won’t pick up much,” one of them pipes up. “They have blinds on all the windows, unless they’re shouting the glass won’t vibrate enough for us to get audio.”
“Well if they’re not shouting, these bugs will pick 'em up… at least until the batteries die,” Dan assures them, screwing the back onto an electronic thermometer. “How familiar are your agents with our playbook?”
“The BAU wrote the CIRG handbook,” Aaron reminds him. “They’ll know that we’re trying to get ears in there at all times.”
“Good, let’s hope they can get these people talking.”
“They will.”
At first light, Aaron sits at the listening station with a mug full of freshly brewed coffee and his headphones on, listening to everything as Rossi drives up to the compound.
He hears their introduction, muffled through the boxes of supplies. He hears Cyrus spout some more godly bullshit and claim he’s trying to protect the children. He’s not ready to let any of them go now, so Dave shakes his hand and heads out on his way. As soon as the door is closed, Cyrus says: “Prepare the wine.”
There’s a shuffling sound as everyone moves around the room, the elders no doubt do everything Cyrus says and the women and children stay seated. After a few minutes, he hears Cyrus again, muffled but there, saying something about being 1 day closer to god…
“Look at Jessica's body language,” Y/N’s voice can be heard as though she’s standing right beside the box of supplies. “The way she looks at him.”
“She literally worships him there’s no way she made that 911 call?” Spencer questions next.
Derek and Aaron look at each other, nodding with a small smile, they’re okay. Not safe, but okay.
“Look at how she comes between Cyrus and her daughter,” Y/N speaks again. “She’s inserting herself between them…”
Cyrus is getting everyone to drink just as Dave is running back into the trailer. “Reid and Y/L/N are okay.”
“what about Cyrus?” Derek asks.
“He's too calm? It's like he was waiting for this to happen?” Dave suggests. “And now that it has he feels vindicated.”
“Hey guys,” Dan calls their attention back to the headsets.
“We’ll be with him soon. We have drank the poison together,” Cyrus’ voice is heard.
They all turn to each other with horrified expressions. “What the fuck?” Aaron exclaims, “I thought you said he was calm?”
“He was! He wanted me to think nothing was going on, he’s a master manipulator! We have to take everything he says and does with a grain of salt,” Dave reminds him.
“We need to go in!” Derek shouts, gathering his things with Dan.
“If we go in there people are gonna die!” Dave shouts.
“People are already dying!” Aaron shouts back, headset pressed to his good ear, he’s still listening to Cyrus preach.
“What do we do?” Y/N whispers.
“Nothing,” Spencer assures her.
“We have to do something these people just took poison!” She snaps back at Reid.
“I don’t think they did?”
“Wait! Wait!” Aaron gathers them all back towards him. “Listen,” he switches the audio playback to the speakers.
“Cyrus just told them they did, I think he’s bluffing,” they hear Spencer’s whisper loud and clear.
“Why do you think that?” Y/N asks.
“Just after he told them they took the poison he waited for them to react and then he nodded to Cole who started to note down everyone who looked sad, look…. They're scanning the audience for the people who are fine with dying now and who are a bit skeptical. This is their way of narrowing down the true believers and those who he can send out to Rossi,” Spencer explains. “He’s smart enough to possibly know our strategies, he wants to send out a trickle of people and then do something during the gush…”
“Jim Jones pulled the same stunt,” Rossi reminds everyone, agreeing with Reid. “They did a test run just like this years before they did the real thing.”
“Dan, prepare your men to go in but not before I give you the go-ahead,” Aaron points back to him. “We need to wait just a few more minutes, if I hear Y/L/N or Reid say anything about people falling sick or passing out, we go in.”
“Got it!”
Aaron covers his hand over his mouth and hopes to god he doesn’t have to send men in there. They already lost one social service member in the crossfire, he can’t lose his agents too.
“Be still, there was no poison,” Cyrus speaks. “Instead a test of faith BECAUSE YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKETH ABOUT AS A ROARING LION!! Choosing who he may devour. Watch each other for signs of weakness. You are your brother's keeper.”
“Dan!” Aaron calls out to him, he comes popping his head back into the trailer. “Stand down, Cyrus said it was a rouse.”
JJ comes walking in behind him, “The former sect leader just arrived.”
“I got it,” Derek volunteers himself. “call me if there are updates.” He says as he leaves, holding his phone up to assure them he has it.
“Charles Mulgrew, convicted in Kentucky at the age of 18. Three counts of statutory rape,” Penelope says through the phone, recounting her findings to the whole team now… well, the free 4.
“So we need to talk to the warden,” Derek says with a sigh.
“Way ahead of you there, honey,” she assures him, making Derek crack a small smile. “Mr. Kentucky Warden said that once inside, Mulgrew found religion and became a model citizen.”
“Well it’s not that hard to behave when youre in protective custody,” Derek reminds her.
“General populations a rough place for a child molester,” Hotch adds.
“No, no, no, I don’t think guys understand he was a Model Citizen. This guy volunteered at the prison hospital,— the aids ward, he was reading to prisoners dying of HIV… he was emulating saint,” Penelope explains father.
“Good stuff, mama,” Derek compliments her the way he always does.
“Damn straight now you get our friends back, baby,” she says before clicking off the call to do more digging.
“Well,” Dave stands a little straighter and sucks in a deep breath. “This makes things worse.”
“What? That he’s a model citizen?” Derek laughs.
“That he’s been to prison,” Dave looks at him, he’s completely serious. There’s no room for giggles now.
Derek closes his eyes for a moment and his shoulders drop, “right. He knows what happens to child molesters there…”
“If the current sexual allegations are true and he thinks we know it, he’s not coming out of there,” Hotch agrees.
“Then we have to make him think he’s not going back to prison,” Dave assures.
“JJ,” Aaron calls back into the main tent for her. “I need you to release a press statement saying that we have absolutely no evidence of sexual allegations.”
JJ comes marching back over to them, sweaty and exhausted, she rests her hands on her pregnant belly and shakes her head, “You need to see this, pop the laptop open. Click on the news tab and play the audio…”
They follow her instructions, gathering around the laptop they see the same news guy from yesterday, he’s set up a little camp for himself in the hills somewhere. He has a perfect view of the ranch and he’s keeping his voice low.
“Now well into its second day, the standoff at the Separatarian Sect Ranch is now been taken over by the FBI. There is much speculation in regard to hostages, but anonymous sources inside the state attorney general's office have told us there is an undercover FBI agent currently being held inside the ranch. Hostage negotiators say they are making headway with the sect's leadership and are hopeful for a positive outcome. There is still no word as to why an undercover FBI agent was sent in alone…”
“Are you fucking Kidding me?” Hotch stands, anger than ever before. “I’m going to I’m going to wring that fuckers neck. I’m going to make his life a living hell.”
“Hotch,” JJ can’t believe those words left his mouth.
“You two,” he points at Derek and Dave, “you get to the parabolic mics and listen in as best as you can. JJ I want you to circle back with Penelope and tell her she can dig into Wells' life as hard as she can and you can reach out to the press with dirt on him. He wants to win the election so bad he’s willing to get federal agents dead, then we’re going to air all his dirty laundry.”
“Got it,” JJ likes that idea and runs back into the tent to make her calls.
Dave and Derek run to the parabolic mic station, leaving Aaron to head back inside and listen to the other spy mics they sent in.
There’s a silent chatter in the church, the mics are picking up more now that they’re not trapped inside boxes and surrounded by supplies. There are a few different angles they get based on what supply was places where. They’re all synced up, playing at the same time and able to be pinpointed for spy-in on individual conversations.
Suddenly, they hear the sound of a struggle, “Get off me! I can walk without you pulling my fucking hair!” Y/N’s voice shouts back.
“FBI scum like you don't get to give orders,” one of Cyrus’ goons speaks back to her and then he hears a slap.
Y/N groans at the pain and Aaron covers his mouth. He’s never been this anxious in his whole life. He wants to run down there, break in and kick the shit out of anyone who laid a hand on her. And then it gets worse.
More mics pick up the sound of the struggle. They hear what Aaron supposes is her body being dragged as she struggles and then the sound of her smacking the concrete. It sounded hard. Like she hit her head.
“I thought I told you not to put me in this position!” Cyrus shouts. Slamming the door behind himself.
Of course, he wouldn’t do this in front of the members.
He slaps her again, the sound of her struggle makes Aaron want to throw up. He doesn’t know what to do with his hands. One second he’s covering his mouth then holding the headphones to his ears and the next he’s just holding them out for no reason. He listens in as she keeps getting hit. Punched, kicked, slapped… he really hopes that this is the extent of Cyrus’ abuse. If he had to hear anything else…. He would actually throw up all over everything.
“We’ve gotta go in,” Aaron says as he takes the headphones off. Derek and Rossi come running into the trailer then.
“We can’t go in,” Dave reminds him. “We’d be risking the lives of everyone in there.”
He knows Dave is right, Dan’s put the sound of her struggle on the speaker for everyone to hear and Aaron can’t escape it. The sound of her being hit again and again, moaning from the pain, she’s struggling to defend herself.
“Get up!” Cyrus says, hauling her up and then punching her in the face again. She slams into something this time, there’s the sound of a window or glass or something shattering and then her crying.
“Proverbs 20:30 tells us blows and wounds cleanse evil,” he spouts his bullshit at her. Then he growls, tossing her in another direction and she falls to the floor once more.
She cries, breathing in sounds like it hurts as she whines as she does so, “I can take it!”
“Oh, you can take it?” Cyrus just gets more pissed at that. He slaps her again and she cries more.
“I can take it!”
“Listen to what she’s saying…” Dave suggests.
“She’s antagonizing him!” Derek gets defensive, on Hotch’s side and wants to go in.
“She’s not talking to him, she’s telling us not to come in,” Aaron agrees with Dave, bowing his head, he hates that he’s right.
He can’t take this anymore. He gets up and leaves the room, Dave can listen to the rest. He has to step outside, away front he watchful eye of everyone there and around behind the trailer. He rests his back against it and sinks down to the floor, his face in his hands. He cries.
The weight of everything comes crashing down on him in that moment. He lost his wife. He hasn’t seen his son for more than a few hours in the last 6 months, his friend and colleague died in his arms in the middle of the street and he almost died too. The only good thing that’s happened in all of this is that he’s gotten closer to Y/N.
If anything happens to her he’s going to actually go insane. He may have joked about it before, when he was off work and had nothing to do… but now it feels real. He can’t lose her. He can’t go through the trauma of burying another friend. He can’t imagine losing another woman he loves. Cause he does love her. He loves her more than he should love a co-worker.
It all started when he got divorced. He never had eyes for any other woman but his wife, however, after the divorce… he found himself enjoying her company for reasons other than friendship. Sure, getting coffee together in the mornings was nice and he didn’t care for her choice of TV shows but hearing her talk and knowing her opinions on things felt special to him. He knew a side of her that no one else on the team knew.
And sleeping beside her didn’t help his crush either. She was so soft. She cuddled into him like she was always meant to be there. When he woke up that next morning, spooned into her, he could smell her hair and he had his hand on her stomach… under her shirt. As if in the night they got even closer than either one of them ever thought possible.
Derek comes out to find him just a few minutes later. Aaron’s managed to wipe his tears and pull himself together a bit, he accepts Derek's hand and gets pulled back up to his feet. “They took her to another room but there are blinds on the windows so we can’t hear anything.”
Aaron just nods. “I don’t know why she did that, why she put herself in danger like that.”
“He probably held a gun to one of them and got them to confess, he did that to get Kane out of the ranch, too,” Derek theorizes. “Maybe she confessed to get him off Reid? Reid’s only in there because he knows the bible so well, he can get on Cyrus’s good side and help us out. She knew that.”
“Still,” Aaron can’t really argue.
“I know you love her, man, but we’ve got a job to do,” Derek whispers. “I feel the same way about Spencer.”
Aaron’s a little shocked to hear that but then again, not? It makes sense. The teasing, the closeness, the room sharing… that time Spencer missed his flight to hang out with another man he knew as a teenager. There were signs there from both of them, he just never thought to read them until now.
Aaron stares into his eyes, the two men would do anything for their team already, knowing they both loved someone in the ranch, which made them even more eager to do this right. “So let’s get them out of there.”
Back inside the trailer, Rossi has the speakers on still, and Reids talking. “Nancy said she was a child abuse interview expert from Denver. In the four years I’ve worked with her, Nancy’s never lied to me before.”
“As far as you know,” Cyrus spoke, believing him. “Their law says that a 15-year-old girl is a child when just 50 years ago that same law said that a 14-year-old was an adult. Have children changed so much in 50 years?”
“I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve investigated abuse charges against small religious groups… most all of them turn out to be false,” Reid lies to him. Successfully.
“What do you think of that?”
“What does it matter what I think?”
“It matters to me,” Cyrus assures him.
“Why?”
“Because god wants to save you,” Cyrus spouts.
“I swear to god if Cyrus comes out of there alive I’m going to beat him to death with my bare hands,” Derek mumbles under his breath to Hotch.
“Get in line.”
“I mean, that’s why god sent you here, isn’t it?” Cyrus poses, making reid feel like he’s a part of them now.
“I think… on the next call you should test them,” Reid suggests. “Test the negotiator. Make him prove that he isn’t a liar.”
“How would you suggest do that?”
“Ask for the identity of the FBI agent—
“We already know her identity,” his goon responds for him.
“They don’t know that we know,” Cyrus agrees with Reid.
“but the FBI would never tell is that?” The goon responds again.
“They keep asking you to release people, say you’ll release a kid only if they tell you her identity and if they really care about the children they’ll have to tell you her identity,” Spencer tries harder to get Cyrus on his side.
“You’re trying to get us to release a child!” The man fights with Reid.
“It’s one kid,” Spencer talks to him like he’s an idiot. “If they don’t hold up on their end of the deal then you know they can’t be trusted.”
“He’s right,” Cyrus ultimately agrees.
“Reid has ‘em,” Rossi turns back to them, clearly proud of the kid.
“What is it, Christopher?” Cyrus asks his friend.
“Well… some of them have been talking about… leaving?” He poses the suggestion.
“Leaving?” Cyrus repeats.
“yeah…”
“Wake the baby. Let them see the orphan they’ve made.”
“Okay, everyone!!” Hotch calls out of the trailer, getting the other's attention. “We’re about to get a call, we should expect some members to be released shortly. Get ready for phase one.”
Everyone rushes around then. Preparing to make room for the followers, cars are called in to collect people and take them to a hotel for the night and a few ambulances show up in case anyone is in need of medical support.
But no call comes in.
They wait all night until the sun comes up. But nothing.
“They’re probably going to ask when we call them,” Rossi suggests. “I’ll give my morning call at 6.”
“Okay,” Hotch agrees. “Morgan, I want you to take the truck up to the ranch and collect the little girl, if anyone else is released, Dan will come up and help escort them over here.”
“Yes sir.”
Rossi calls in right at 6. They haven’t heard anything else over the mics or through the windows. Most of the members must’ve been asleep in the chapel overnight. Sleeping in pews or on the floor… they all must be exhausted and mostly ready to leave now that the condition of their stay has changed.
“Good morning, Ben, how are you today?” Rossi speaks to him cheerfully.
“We are prepared to release a child if you tell me the identity of the FBI agent promise no harm will come to them from this point forward,” Cyrus leads right into it.
A wave of relief washes over Aaron.
“I can’t give you that information,” Rossi eggs him on.
“I will send the child now.”
Aaron waves his hand to Dan who’s got eyes on the ranch, a little girl has started to walk out of the compound and is standing in the gravel driveway. Dan motions to Derek who’s already taking his gun off and handing it to Hotch who hands him a radio in return. He takes off to the truck then, one of the other men drives Derek up and they watch on the cameras as Derek calmly collects the little girl and gets her into the truck safely.
“I’m taking a big risk here Ben,” Dave tries to play it cool with him.
“Trust is earned,” Cyrus reminds him.
“Her name is Y/N Y/L/N,” Rossi says her full name. “She came in with two child service workers to talk to the girls.”
“There’s a good chance we can work this out, Dave” Cyrus assures him. “I’m gonna provide another sign of good faith.”
“You’re doing a good thing here,” Dave assures him. Hyping up his confidence, getting on his good side.
Cyrus hangs up after that and they rely back to the microphones. “Assemble everyone in the chapel. Get agent Prentiss back down here,” Cyrus orders Christopher.
“This is it,” Aaron assures Dave and Dan. “We’ve started the trickle, it’s about to flow. We need to be prepared for women in children to be released as well as some of their husbands who’ve lost faith in Cyrus.”
Just as they thought, 10 minutes after the order to gather everyone, Cyrus starts to explain why he has them all gathered there. He points out that some of them have lost their faith, that he no longer can support people who don’t support him and his god. And then he starts to name names.
“He looks pissed?” They hear Y/N whisper.
Of course, the two of them would stand where they could be heard the best by the others.
“It’s not as bad as it looks,” she assures Spencer.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispers to her.
“Look at who he’s releasing,” Y/N says again.
“It’s the ones who failed the loyalty test,” Spencer explains. “I’ll get word to the team. You wait for a sign from the outside that will tell us when the raid will come.”
The room goes quiet for a few moments and then they heard, “Take her back.”
Y/N was being sent back to whatever room they had her locked in, in the first place. They need to figure out where that would be… they need to be able to find her during the raid and get her out of there safely.
“Those of you standing, collect your belongings and meet in the main hall immediately,” Cyrus orders.
Not long after that, they start to see a bunch of people start to leave the chapel. Just then, Cyrus calls them. They send Dan and his guys out to collect the survivors and Hotch listens in on the phone call.
“We will surrender tomorrow at noon, we want the press there to make sure that we’re treated fairly,” Cyrus makes them a deal. “We’ll discuss the details tomorrow at our 7 am call… I’ll see you then Dave.”
“I look forward to it,” Dave agrees.
“Oh, and one more thing, could you send in some food in?” He requests.
“Sure, what would you like?” Dave pretends to be hospitable but by the look on his face, Aaron can tell he rather take a bite out of a leather shoe than keep this act up.
“Fried chicken, all the fixings.”
“You got it! I’ll have it brought right up to you.” Dave hangs up and shakes his head. “I hate this mother fucker.”
“I don’t understand, why did you let them go?” Another goon asks, more like, demands to know from Cyrus.
“They weren’t prepared to do what was needed of them,” Spencer butts in.
“Yeah, no offence but you’re not one of us so shut the fuck up,” he spits back at Spencer.
“Listen to him,” Cyrus sides with Reid. “Tell him, Spencer.”
“They failed the test,” Spencer explains. “They-they had a chance to prove their faith when Cyrus told them that they’d sacrificed themselves for god, but instead they showed they weren’t worthy…. That’s why he wants the media to bear witness to your true final act of sacrifice.”
“how do you know that?” The man asks.
“I’m always looking for signs of things to come.”
“Spencer’s asking us for what time to expect the raid,” Dave understands his meaning right away. “He’s telling us this is it! Time is running out! We’ve gotta go in!”
The food arrives around mid-day, and they have it delivered to the trailer first. They examine it all to make sure nothing's been tampered with by the restaurant and then they get it all boxed up and ready to go.
“We obviously can’t spike the food 'cause there are kids,” Aaron explains to Dan. “So we need to find another way to alert Spencer that there is a raid coming…”
Just then he picks up a red Sharpie marker and writes on the lid of the chicken box. “New management, open until 3 AM tonight!!” He underlines it a few times and then repeats it on the boxes for the corn and mashed potatoes and biscuits. Spencer has to see it somewhere.
Aaron and Derek are so positive that Spencer can find a way to prepare for the raid inside and figure out a way to get the women and children out of harm's way when Derek, Dave and Dan come crashing through the doors. He’s not going, he has to stay back with JJ and oversee the whole operation. He hates it. But it’s his job.
Derek and Dave go up to the ranch to deliver the food and just as there’s a commotion at the door and everyone is busy at the ranch, the parabolic mikes pick up Y/N’s voice.
“AARON!” Dan yells for him from outside, causing him to rush down to him.
“What?” He fears for the worst.
“it’s Y/N, she’s listening to the blinds with her high-heeled boot and we can hear her, listen,” he hands him the headphones.
“If you can hear me, I know you’re coming. I can try to get the women and children down to the tunnel but I need to know when you’re coming.”
She keeps repeating those two sentences over and over.
“come on,” Aaron gets up, grabs a riffle with a laser scope and they head to the hill closest to the ranch. Dan follows behind him with the transmitter, listening in on what Y/N’s saying still.
He points the gun right at the window and she sees the laser shine against the wall in the room she’s trapped in.
“I got you, what time are you coming in?”
He blinks the laser 3 times.
“3 am?”
He keeps the beam steady and nods the gun, up and down, as if he’s nodding yes.
“Got it. Reid is on the first floor somewhere with Cyrus, and please remember there are children here... someone's coming,” she’s quick to pull her foot away from the window and they lose signal with her.
Dan starts to retreat, leaving Hotch there with the gun and a hopeful feeling. “Hang in there, sweetheart.”
At 2:15 AM they start preparing for the raid. Swat is called in, they’ve got a supply of Humvees supplied by the army, weapons, ammunition, and tear gas. They’re ready to go. All without Aaron.
Aaron has his headset on and his radio with him, listening in on the Sect while also in contact with the team as they make their way closer to the ranch.
They know somethings up, that somethings coming… they should’ve cut the lights to the Humvees and gone in there blind.
Cyrus heads outside of the chapel, points his gun in the air and starts shooting the sky, gathering attention from the media just over the hill. He wants them to see how this all goes down.
Luckily, Cyrus just doesn’t know how much they know. When Derek met with the previous leader, Kane, he drew them a map of the whole facility. Secret tunnels, bunkers, you name it, they know where it is. So that’s where they go in.
On the radio he hears Dan give the go-ahead for phase one, the men storm the tunnel exit and surprise the guard down there with flash grenades and tear gas, subduing him. The men force their way inside, they drag the guard to the corner and cuff him up so he can’t cause any trouble and within seconds, Derek is on the radio.
“Y/N’s here, she got the women and children down to the tunnels,” Derek alerts him. “I’m sending them out to you, Dan.”
“Ten-4, I have a vehicle ready to transport them to safety,” Dan responds.
“They’ve wired explosives,” Derek alerts through the radio. “We need to move, now!”
Aaron throws on a bulletproof vest then and starts to run out of the tent, “where are you going!?” JJ calls after him.
“to help get them as far away from the blast as possible this is an all-hands-on-deck situation!” He yells back and keeps running.
He runs as fast as he can, following the dimly lit dirt road up to the chapel, he can see the women and children running out of the tunnels and towards the front of the building. “Over here! This way!” He calls to them, “Over here! You need to get away from the building!”
“Aaron!” Y/N shouts, as the last one to leave the tunnel, she ushers the women and children towards him and hobbles along as fast as she can.
She runs right into his arms, and they both make an audible “oof,” as their chests collide but he holds her close. “You’re okay?”
“I’m okay,” she assures him, pulling back, she turns to face the others, “Keep moving, follow the lights, head to that tent back there!”
They usher them up the road, keeping them at a safe distance from the building, he rests his hand on her back and when she turns to him again, he uses his other hand to cradle her face. He can’t really see in the dark, but he can tell she’s all beaten and bruised, “are you sure—
“I’m fine, we need to go back in there, they have Spencer,” she worries, almost in tears. “It’s bad Aaron, the whole building is rigged to go, they have TNT and gas everywhere, in every hallway way, doorway, support beam… it’s going to go up like a fucking tinderbox.”
“Dereks got it,” he assures her. “They’ll be okay.” She doesn’t look like she believes him, so he pulls her in closer again and cradles her head. “It’s going to be okay.”
They hear a few shots then, followed by the chapel door flying open, Derek and Spencer come running out of the building, and Dave comes running out of the tunnel exit with Dan just as the building goes up in flames.
“Jesse,” Y/N whispers, shocked.
They rush to the building, running up the few concrete steps toward where Derek and Spencer were knocked down by the blast. Aaron picks up Derek, Y/N picks up Spencer and as a team, they retreat away from the fire. At a safe distance, they all stop, turn to the blaze and realize they made it. All of them.
Y/N pulls Spencer into her arms, breaking out in a sob, she crumbles. Her knees give way and Spencer does his best to keep her upright, Aaron steps in and supports her, and Derek too. “We did it,” Spencer whispers, “we’re okay.”
“We’re okay,” she repeats, absolutely exhausted from everything she’s been through.
“We need a medic!” Aaron calls, “Someone, please, get a stretcher over here!”
“I’m fine, I’m okay,” she tries to push them away, standing on her own two feet again but she’s wobbly.
“No, you’re not,” Aaron argues with her. “You got beat up, I heard it all. You’re not okay, I don’t care how strong you think you are you’re—
She reaches out and covers his mouth, “Stop yelling at me, my head is killing me.”
“Sorry,” he apologizes, wrapping his arm under her to support her, he helps her down the stairs just as the ambulance is pulling up to the church.
It doesn’t take long for both Y/N and Reid to get checked out by the paramedics. Spencer has some general ringing in his ear from being so close to a blast, and Y/N has a concussion and severe abdominal bruising. They don’t suspect any internal bleeding, but they advise her to have someone watch her all night and to go to the hospital if she feels sick or light-headed.
Derek offers to drive himself, Reid, Rossi and Y/N back to the hotel, JJ and Hotch just have to finish up a few things and then they’ll join, but she turns down Derek's request. “I’m going to stay with Aaron and JJ,” she whispers, not really wanting to talk unless she has to. “You guys head out, it’s okay.”
“Are you sure?” Spencer gives her his puppy dog eyes.
She nods, giving him a sweet smile, “Yeah, I don’t think I can handle Derek's driving right now.”
“Fair enough,” Rossi pats her shoulder, heading off after Derek.
“Okay,” Spencer understands the real reason why she isn’t going, he looks at her and then at Aaron. He’s not dumb. Far from it, actually. Of course, he knows there’s something going on between them… Aaron just wonders what it is on her side.
“Spence,” she stops him, pulls him in for another hug and holds him there. She whispers something in his ear, something Aaron can’t hear, but by the look on Spencer’s face, it’s sweet. When she pulls back, she speaks louder. “You come get me if you need anything, I mean anything… okay?”
“I will, thank you,” he smiles before turning away and heading off to the SUV.
She comes to sit beside Aaron after that, he’s filing out some paperwork about the supplies they used and Dan’s signing off on everything, too. JJ’s wrapping up from things on the phone with the state, and firefighters are now on the scene putting out the blaze… it’s a commotion, but he doesn’t care about anything other than Y/N.
He reaches out for her hand, under the table, he holds it and looks at her. Asking if she’s okay with just his eyes.
She nods, “I’m tired.”
“I can do the rest of this,” Dan offers.
“Yeah?”
He nods, “Yeah, you guys go get some rest, you’ve done more than enough for us.”
“Okay,” Aaron doesn’t fight it, he simply lets go of her hand and starts to stand up, helping her up too. “Come on, let’s get you out of here… JJ?”
She’s still on the phone but peaks her head over, asking what’s up with her facial expression.
“We’re heading out, come on.”
She holds up her finger, asking for just a second, which is good. It gives him a chance to pack up his things and help Y/N into the passenger seat of their SUV. JJ comes rushing over not 2 minutes later, the phone still pressed to her ear, she gets in the back seat and all they hear is “Thank you so much, half our team should be there in a few minutes, we’re about 30 minutes out… thank you, again, bye.”
“Good to go?” Aaron asks.
“Yeah, and I got us all hotels for tonight Rossi is alone, Derek is with Reid and I will partner with Hotch tonight so Y/N can be alone and—
She cuts JJ off. “I don’t want to be alone,” she says in a low tone. It hurts to talk. “Not with my concussion.”
“Oh,” JJ didn’t expect that. “Um, I guess we can be together, Hotch can be alone?”
She shakes her head, “No, mama you go be alone for the night, I’m sure you’re exhausted. You’ve done so much these last two days, Hotch can babysit me, make sure I don’t die in my sleep.”
“Don’t even joke about that,” he looks over at her, completely serious. “You’re okay, the paramedics said it’s not too serious, you’re going to be fine.”
“I was kidding,” she gives him a sweet smile.
It doesn’t take long for them to get to the hotel, they check in, they’re handed their room keys and off they go. The double rooms are on the same floor, they’re just across the hall from Derek and Spencer, JJ’s a floor above them and Rossi is on the top floor. He really doesn’t care how much money he spends, he always wants the best rooms.
He carries both their bags upstairs. He had someone go to her other hotel, the one she and Reid were sharing when they arrived, and get her things. He sets them all down on one of the beds and she just stands there, sore and tired. She looks like she wants to cry again. She’s bruising slowly, everything’s getting worse and darker in colour the more time passes.
“Are you okay?”
She nods, “Yeah… I just hurt all over.”
“I don’t want this to come off as weird, or anything,” he prefaces. “But do you need or want help changing? Do you want to take a bath? I can help you get in or out— I won’t look, I promise. I just want you to feel better.”
She laughs lightly, but it hurts to do that. “I don’t think I need help… but thank you.”
“You took such great care of me last month, I just want to repay the favour,” he gives her a small smile.
She takes a step towards him and wraps her arms around his middle, resting her head on his chest. He carefully holds her back, his cheek resting against her head. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“You need a lot more than a bomb to get rid of me,” she teases. He said the same thing in the hospital in New York.
He smiles, dragging his cheek across her hair until his lips are pressed to her head. He kisses her gently, “Come on, let’s get you ready for bed.”
She sighs as she pulls back, “Would it be weird to share a bed tonight? I really don’t want to be alone.”
“Not weird at all,” he assures her.
“Good,” she smiles.
He brings her over to the one bed that their bags are on, they each zip open their own bag and start digging for their things. She takes out her pyjama shirt and her shorts, her little bag of toiletries and her phone charger and then she remembers she doesn’t have a phone anymore. “I can’t believe that fucker blew up all my stuff.”
“We’ll get you a new phone when we get back tomorrow,” Aaron assures her. “Penelope knows to call me if anyone calls work looking for you.”
“Okay, good… I’m going to change in the bathroom first, I’ll call you if I need help?”
“Okay,” he agrees.
He takes the chance to change in the room, he slips out of his khakis and dress shirt and quickly replaces them with a new pair of boxers and a fresh white shirt. It's what he slept in beside her before… that was the best sleep he’s had in years. Even beside his ex-wife he never slept that good.
He heads over to the empty queen bed that their shit isn’t on and folds back the covers for them. He fluffs the pillows and even sets a complimentary bottle of water on each of their night tables, that’s when he remembers he still has medicine in his bag. She emerges from the bathroom soon after, all changed with a soft smile on her face. “Tada?”
“You look nice,” he compliments her. “I uh, I still have some medicine— the T3s…”
“Ooo,” she thinks about it. “I was just going to tough it out but that sounds like a much better option.”
“I just don’t like the idea of you hurting all night long, you’re supposed to be resting,” he reminds her, handing her the pill bottle once she’s closer to him. “There’s water on your side.”
She takes two of them, sets her water down and starts to get into the bed, Aaron stands at her side, watching as she hisses. “Are you okay?”
“Mhm,” she hums. “Getting punched and kicked in the gut sucked, I’m surprised I don’t have internal bleeding.”
His heart breaks even more, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she waves it off. “Come get in bed.”
Before he does that, he flicks on the lamp on his side of the bed and heads back over to the door to turn off the main light. When he finally slips into bed, she reaches over for his hand and pulls him over so he can spoon her. She just wants to be held. He gently places his hand on her stomach, he doesn’t want to hurt her at all. She lets out a deep sigh, relaxing into his arms and waiting for the pills to kick in.
“I’m really glad they put you in charge of everything,” she whispers. “The second Rossi showed up in the church I knew we were going to be leaving okay.”
“You should’ve heard Morgan scream for me when the situation popped onto the news in the bullpen,” he recounts, still astounded by it himself. “I was just thinking about you when he called for me and then all the phones started going off and I knew we’d be the ones doing the rescuing.”
“You were thinking about me?” She repeats. “What were you thinking about me for?”
“Oh…” he feels suddenly embarrassed. “Just that it was weird not having breakfast together and I was thinking if you didn't drive to the airport, I would’ve driven you home.”
“Awe,” she swoons, she places her hand over his and interlocks their fingers. “We can get lunch together tomorrow after we land… before you take me back to the airport to get my car.”
“Sounds like a plan,” he whispers. “But we’ll have to take it to go…”
“Why?”
“I don't want anyone to think I did that to you,” he explains, a sick feeling in his throat at the mere thought of someone thinking he could hurt her.
“Oh, oh yeah,” she forgot. “Sorry, I’m starting to feel the medicine… if I fall asleep on you, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, go to sleep if you have to,” he assures her. “I’ll be right here all night if you need me.”
“Thank you, Aar,” she mumbles out, already slipping into her slumber. “Love… you.”
His heart skips a beat, he wants to say it back but he doesn’t know how much of that is just the medicine and him taking care of her and how much of it she really, truly means. He doesn’t want to risk it, so he just snuggles in closer, kisses the back of her shoulder and attempts to fall asleep with her.

“It’ll be fun!” your best friend insists.
“I don’t know,” you reply.
“It’s just a weekend. This is the hottest resort in LA and we’re never going to be able to afford it again. Besides, it’s an Uber ride away, if you hate it after the first night, just go home. We wouldn’t hold that against you, swear.”
Closing your eyes, you nod. The small group of friends surrounding you cheers. After they force you to pack a bag, you find yourself in the back of an Uber driving through Beverly Hills.
“How did you get a room here again?” you ask.
“I got an insane discount voucher when I went to the grand opening of that new organic restaurant in Santa Monica!”
“And we’re just spending a weekend in the resort? Swimming, relaxing,” you trail off, unsure if you believe the lack of ulterior motives.
“Yeah,” your best friend answers, “plus rich men from the Hills.”
The Uber driver rolls his eyes, and you can’t blame him... not at all.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Save a whole school full of evacuees and you get a dinner reservation at a Beverly Hills resort,” Street muses. “I knew there was a reason I liked this gig.”
“You do know that place will be crawling with rich, single women,” Hicks begins.
“Yeah, we do,” Tan and Street cheer together.
“And badge bunnies,” Hicks finishes.
Street shrugs, and Deacon and Hondo shake their heads.
“Do we have to attend?” Deacon asks.
“Why? Got better plans?” Street asks.
“A night in the hills isn’t everyone’s idea of a fun time, playboy,” Hondo answers. Deacon nods his agreement.
“Yes, you have to go. Mayor’s going to be there tonight, too. Every week like clockwork,” Hicks answers.
“Hey, Deac,” Street calls as they walk out. “What’s the real problem?”
“Just seems like a materialistic, money-based approximation of the worth of the lives we saved,” Deacon answers. “The mayor’s office just implied all those lives are worth approximately $650.”
“Those meals are over $125 each?” Luca gapes. “Sorry, I know that’s not the point.”
“It’s not the first or last time we’ll receive a monetary thank you, but at some point it becomes more about the reward after the job than the job itself,” Deacon adds.
“Maybe we’ll be there for a reason,” Luca offers. “But I get what you’re saying. We are focused on the job, and that’s all we can control.”
“Then I guess we should clean up. Places like that frown upon dirt covered tactical uniforms."
"Their loss; this is my best look,” Street jokes.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Um, I can’t afford to look at this menu,” you say, pushing it back onto the table. “Maybe I should go find a diner or something.”
“It’s included,” your best friend whispers. “But we’re trying to play the part, so sit up and feel as good as you look in that outfit.”
Sighing, you straighten your shoulders, picking up the outrageously priced menu again and trying not to let your shock show. Indeed, you’ll never live like this again, but you’re not sure you’d want to even if you could.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Would it be wrong for me to say there’s one for each of us?” Street asks, glancing over his menu.
“Yes,” Deacon, Hondo, and Luca reply in unison.
“They’re women, not suits, Street,” Deacon adds.
“Think I could land one?” Street asks.
“Playboy,” Hondo sighs. “You don’t have enough game for half of one of those women, kid.”
“Really? ‘Cause the one in the blue’s lookin’ over here.”
“Probably at Deacon,” Luca says, keeping his eyes on the menu.
“Right,” Deacon agrees sarcastically. “I- honestly, I don't know what's in most of these foods, so one of you order for me.”
He sets his menu down, his gaze wandering to the table of women Street was talking about. One of them catches his attention, and when the four other women get up, giggling as they walk toward the bathroom, he decides he’s looking at a kindred soul.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Mind if I sit here for just a moment? My friends are running late, and the reservation is under another name,” a man explains, smiling as he looks at you.
“Uh, I don’t think-“
“Thanks,” he says, cutting you off as he sits beside you.
“My friends are coming right back,” you state. “So, you should find somewhere else to wait.”
“Sounds like you have time to kill, and I do, too. What’s your name?”
You don’t answer, fiddling with the bottom of the tablecloth as you watch the doorway for your friends to return.
“I can’t imagine someone ditching you.”
The man leans into your peripheral vision, and you turn your head away. When his hand brushes against your covered hip, you stand quickly.
“I told you that I didn’t want to talk, so you should find your way to your own table before I come back,” you say lowly before walking to the balcony entrance.
✯✯✯✯✯
Deacon tunes out his teammates as he watches a man sit beside you. Your obvious discomfort makes him eager to help. He stops at the thought that one uninvited man in your personal space is likely more than enough.
“Deac?” Hondo asks. “Oh,” he adds when he looks at what is so worthy of Deacon’s attention.
“Didn’t think he still had it in him,” Luca whispers to Hondo.
Deacon stands suddenly, his attention on your back as you walk onto the balcony. Hondo notices that the man beside you looks angry, and when he jostles the table in his haste to follow you, he knows why Deacon is so invested.
“Go help her out, Deac, we got your back,” Hondo says.
Deacon nods wordlessly, buttoning his blazer as he follows in your footsteps. His team looks on, sure that Deacon has control of the situation but is prepared to jump in if the situation calls for it.
“Deacon comes back with her glued to his side or that starry far-away look in his eye,” Luca announces. “Trust me.”
“My money’s on the first one. You see how she relaxed the moment her friends left? She’s just like him,” Tan points out.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Looks like you found your way to my table, too,” the man says behind you.
When you turn to face him, you step back. His jaw is tight, and his eyes look darker than they did inside.
“Change your mind about spending time with me, girlie?”
With your side to the door, you notice someone walk out, but don’t expect an arm to circle your waist a moment later.
“Hey, babe,” the man says. “What’s going on? Came back to the table and you were gone.”
Looking up at him, you sigh at the sight of his large, kind eyes. Trusting him, you relax against his side, raising a hand to press against his sternum.
“Sorry, handsome. This guy was waiting for his friends,” you explain.
“You need help finding your table or somethin’? This is a nice place, I’m sure they can help with that.”
The man clenches his fists at his side, looking between you and the man holding you to his side.
“Or do you need a different kind of help?”
The hand on your hip tightens, his touch still gentle as his voice drops. He’s defending you, angry for you, and though you don’t know why, you’re grateful.
“No, I’m good. Your ‘babe’ here might want to learn some manners, though.”
You press your hand against your guy’s chest when he tries to follow the man inside. Whispering your name to distract him, you sigh when his attention returns to you.
“I’m Deacon,” he replies. “Sorry for grabbing you.”
“Don’t apologize. Thank you. I don’t know what I was thinking walking out here alone.”
Your hand is still spread over his chest, his arm around your waist, and his hand rubbing soft circles on your hip. You know the moment has to end, but your desperation to draw it out outweighs your logic.
“Well, thank you, Deacon. You’re a great boyfriend; I’m sure there’s a very happy woman somewhere.”
Deacon’s hand moves to your waist as you move back, and he quickly raises the other to stop you.
“There is no happy woman,” he responds. “I just- how often do you have to deal with stuff like that?”
“Not very often. Most guys get the idea, even if it takes a few tries. Never had to be saved like this before.”
Deacon sighs, disappointed either in you or the situation. You hope it’s the situation, and Deacon can practically read your mind.
“I’m a SWAT sergeant, and we have to watch for crossfire,” he begins.
You nod with furrowed brows, confused as to where this is going.
“I just will never understand how some men are so okay with not caring how many women they hurt in pursuing their own… whatever it is they’re looking for.”
“How? How is there no lucky woman?” you ask softly. “Between the kindness and the poetic speeches, you’re just begging to get snatched up.”
Deacon drops his chin, shaking his head as he smiles.
“Why’d you follow me?” you ask.
“You were uncomfortable. I noticed you before he sat down, and then when you stood up so fast I couldn’t just sit there. Especially when he followed you.”
“Then you can tell I don’t fit in here.”
“I can,” Deacon agrees before whispering, “because I don’t either.”
“Could you maybe ditch your friends?” you ask. “Let me call you handsome for a while longer?”
“You seem a bit too pleased to have a fake boyfriend who only came out here to scare somebody off.”
“Because my fake boyfriend is better than any real one I’ve ever had.”
Deacon smiles, pulling you against him. “I have to stay for dinner, it’s a work thing. But if you’re still up for pet names later, and tomorrow, and for a good, long while, I think we can work something out.”
“I will be.”
“Have your phone?”
You pull your phone from your pocket, unlock it, and hand it to him. He keeps one hand on your side as he adds his contact, sending himself a text with your name. After he returns your phone, he sighs.
“The moment’s over?” you ask.
“The moment is on hold,” Deacon corrects.
“Enjoy your work dinner. I’m going to go have a free dinner and listen to my friends pretend they belong here.”
“Feel free to sit at my table if you need a break. I’m sure they’re talking about you already. Trying to decide if I’ll actually act on my feelings or just come back in alone and puppy-like.”
You smile, slowly separating yourself from Deacon. Walking in first, he holds the door for you, and you brush your knuckles against his hand before returning to your table. As you sit, your eyes stray to Deacon and never leave.
✯✯✯✯✯
“That little hand thing counts, right?” Tan asks.
“Counts for what?” Deacon inquires as he sits.
“I thought you’d come back with your arm around her.”
“We’re, uh, we’re gonna keep talking later.”
“Atta boy, Deac!” Luca cheers.
“Why didn’t you invite her over?” Hondo asks. “This may be a work thing, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring.”
“I did. If she gets tired of her friends, she’ll be over.”
“Yeah,” you interject, pausing at the corner of their table. “I’m tired of my friends and your table seems like a better fit.”
Street, Luca, and Tan rush to pull a chair over for you, arguing over who gets the credit. You laugh at their antics as Deacon tells you everyone’s names.
“Nice to meet you. And thanks for letting me crash your dinner,” you say.
“So, what do you think of our Deacon here?” Luca asks, smiling kindly.
“I think he’s great,” you answer honestly. Turning toward him, you whisper, “And handsome.”
“Are pet names our thing now?” he asks.
“Hey, you started it, babe.”
Deacon dips his chin before his eyes rise to yours, and you think ‘beautiful’ might be a better fit for him. Luckily, he promised plenty of time to try all the pet names you can think of.

it wasn’t often tomas got a break from his duties as a member of the shirai ryu, but when he did, he always took the time to spoil you. you were his whole world, and he wanted to make sure you knew that, especially on his busiest days.
you came down from your shared bedroom when the smell of a home cooked meal drifted upstairs. you peeked into the kitchen, and tomas was setting a few dishes onto the table, and he looked up to catch your eye.
“i was just about to call you down, good timing,” he said, walking over to kiss your forehead.
“i try. it just smelled so good. you really didn’t have to do all of this,” you reminded him, but he simply smiled.
“i wanted to. now, come and sit. don’t want you missing out on a warm meal. you’ve been working hard all day, and i haven’t gotten a chance to see you,” he murmured, guiding you to your normal seat. you chuckled and allowed him to settle you down in your chair, and he was quick to join you at the table. he’d made your favorite comfort meal, and it smelled divine. you knew he could cook, but it had been so long since he had, you’d forgotten how impressive it was. he fixed your plate for you, and he’d even poured you a glass of wine. it was a nice scene, the two of you sharing a calm dinner together. you honestly couldn’t remember the last time you’d really just sat down and enjoyed each other’s company, you just knew that you missed it dearly.
“so, did you do anything exciting today?” you asked, sipping your wine slowly.
“me personally? not really. but you’ll be happy to hear hanzo is making excellent progress. maybe you could come down and see him tomorrow? he’s been asking to show you his skills,” tomas said, and you nodded with a smile.
“i’d love to. i’ve missed the little rascal, and i think it’s sweet he’s asking for me,” you replied.
“of course. you know how much he values your praise. if i didn’t know any better, i’d say he saw you as some kind of older sibling or parental figure,” he said, reaching to give your hand a squeeze. you smiled and ate a bit more of your food, enjoying the warmth of the atmosphere. it was nice to just sit down and talk with your lover. you cherished the moments of the mundane, and you silently found yourself hoping that more of them would come your way.
after dinner, tomas had taken dish duty despite your protests. he argued that it was still his night to spoil you. so, you remained in the kitchen, sitting on the counter with your wine glass in hand, continuing to talk to him about your days. it was a sight that he enjoyed, seeing you relaxed and enjoying yourself. once he was finished, you slid off of the counter, and you leaned up to kiss his cheek.
“okay, we’re swapping. go and sit, and put on a movie for us,” you said, poking his chest.
“no, you go and sit,” he tried to argue, but you stood firm.
“not a chance. you go and sit, i’m gonna make some popcorn. besides, you have better movie taste than me. do it for me, please?” you asked, giving him your best puppy dog pout. not even he was immune to the pout, and with an exaggerated sigh, he again kissed your forehead (his favorite spot), and disappeared into the living room. you heard your tv turn on, and you set to making a bowl of popcorn for the two of you to share. out of the corner of your eye, you saw the living room lights dim, and you could hear him moving around. whatever he was doing was drowned out by the sound of popping, but when you made it back out to him with the bowl full, you found that he had created the perfect cuddling spot. there were pillows and blankets tucked carefully around to create a sort of burrow for you two, and he opened his arms for you to join him. you laughed softly and walked over, handing him the bowl before settling in beside him, snuggling up in his arms. the bowl of popcorn was resting comfortably between you, and you let your head rest on his chest. he played the movie, and just before it started, he felt you shuffle around in his arms.
“i love you,” you murmured, and you felt his lips on the top of your head.
“i love you, too. even if i can’t be with you as often as i’d like to,” he whispered back, and you could hear the sadness in his voice.
“i know,” you replied. “but the time apart makes these moments all the more special. at least, that’s what i think.”
“and i think you might be right. but i promise these won’t be as scarce anymore. on my honor.”
“i believe you. and that’s why i love you as much as i do.”
“and i love you more.”

Chapter Six: Non-disclosure Agreement
Pairings: Jey Uso x Black!Original Character.
Summary: Let’s just say Soraya’s day started out fine, got better only for shit to hit the fan.
Warnings: Explicit, 18+ only. Minors DNI : use of foul language.
A/N: I use the same tag-list for all of my works.
Song: Megan Stallion x NDA
Three weeks. It had been three weeks since the release of Conceited. Soraya had sent the rap industry in an uproar over her debut to the hip-hop industry. It had also been a month since she last saw her man. She knew with the Royal Rumble coming up, he would be busier than normal. Although the recent praise she has been receiving comes to a standstill.
Soraya sat with her manager and lawyer in a meeting room. A Death Row Records conference area to be exact. Their counselors were present, along with them, and someone she was hoping she would never see again.
“My artist here is prepared to sign a non-disclosure agreement to never speak of her or their relationship in a negative light if she agrees to produce and compose his music.”
She lets out a surprised chuckle, confusing not only her team, but the men across from her.
“What’s so funny?”
She waves her hand amid her laugh. They were seeking to negotiate his career, and she thought it was laughable. He honestly thought she was going to write his music, let alone produce for him again? He has another thing coming. Soraya quieted herself down, wiping the lone tear that dripped down her face.
“Whew,” she exhales out with a smile. She turns to him, showing him an ounce of attention he’d been wanting since the minute she arrived. “Need I remind you? We signed an NDA two years ago.”
At the mention of the NDA, her manager pulled out several of the original documents they both signed, including the signatures of the advocates present at the time as witnesses.
“NDAs carry a statute of limitations them.” His attorney indicates, skimming through the various pages.
“That is correct. However, this one does not.” Naraya, her manager, speaks. Before his counselors could object, his mush mouth looking self spoke.
“You think you're the shit, huh bitch?” He stares her down, trying to intimidate her. She wasn’t budging, she turns to her advocate, while he whispers in her ear. She nods and rises up, collecting her things. Dame watches with a sneer. Soraya pulled out her phone, a slight grin forming on her face.
Jey 💙: Flight lands in a few hours.
Naraya continues, emphasizing the critical sections. “If you read section four, subsection b, it states that the business arrangement is void if he belittles or refuses to clear her name. If I can recall, two years ago, she received backlash from his fans and several others when he referred to her as a mistress.”
My place or yours.
Dame frowns, seeing the smile on her face. The same smile she gave him when they first got together. “No one belittled this bitch name. She did that herself by taking down my catalogue.”
”What my client is trying to express…“
It had turned into a battle of the counselors, everybody speaking over each other, until Naraya stood up and replayed his interview with Roxanne Wethers on the conference television. They fixate on the screen as he calls Soraya a deranged fan who took his act of kindness too far. Stamping her as the mistress. Soraya tunes out the rest of the conversation. Bouncing on her legs lightly, watching the three messages dance across her screen.
Jey 💙: surprise. Be ready at 8.
Soraya could feel him walking towards her: something she learned out of fear while being with him. He pauses a few feet away. A slight scowl etched on his face. She wasn’t afraid of him anymore; it was all behind her, and it was going to stay that way. Soraya needed to cut all connections with him.
“Weak ass bitch.” He initiates. Her eyes roll, glancing down into her purse, cutting him off while clutching object in her fist.
“We’re not doing this back and forth. I have shit to do, and you’re not fuckin’ my day up.”
“Tough shit.” He sizes her up, knowing the minute he called her out ther name, she would get riled up, and act out. Soraya was unfazed by his intimidation tactics.
“Dame, I think you forgot about the real reason we signed those NDAs.” Everybody is confused, but the way Dame’s face sank had her eyebrows arched into a knowing smirk. She brings the object between her fingers, a black, and red USB drive.
Dame was glaring her down, knowing what was on the thumb drive. He gets a step closer. She kisses her teeth and takes a step back. “We go our separate ways, and you still have a chance at a career.”
Dame, with a tilt of his head, let out a threatening chuckle, his fingers pressing against his bottom lip. “You trying to extort me?”
Soraya, with a shrug of her shoulders, drops the USB drive back in her purse and crosses her arms. “You keep my name out of your mouth and I keep yours out of mine, simple as that.”
Their parties are watching the interaction go down, hoping it didn’t escalate. They didn’t have time to deal with assault charges. His team was only worried about reviving his career. She just wanted this to be finished. A slow lick of his lips, and a nod of his head. He stares at her, seeing the icy stare in her eyes.
“Okay.”
She claps her hands together. “Excellent, we're done here.”
He watches her and her team leave. He was starting to think she was bluffing. However, he wasn’t about to test that theory just yet.
Tumblr media
Soraya rushed into her home, tossing her shoes in the closet next to her door. She frowned at the messiness of her living area. She didn’t have time to clean like she wanted to. Soraya settled for putting everything back in place. The knock on the door had her anxious. Glancing at the time on the clock above her fireplace read three-thirty. She realized it wasn’t Jey.  The hammer was relentless. Taking slow steps to the door, she opened it.
A look of annoyance plaster on her face. She leaves the door open and steps away to finish cleaning.
“Oi! Is that any way to treat your siblings?” Her oldest brother, Zyaire, expresses, leading the pack of them in the home.
“You could’ve called.” Soraya states, finally turning to peer at them.
“Oh, so you can send it to voicemail again. We gotta pop up.” Zyaire wanders up to her, tugging her into a tight hug. She softens in his embrace, hugging him back. Growing up, he always gave the best hug, and knew when to give them.
“I’m busy.” She mutters, pushing him back. He snickers and pats his chest. He takes a seat on her couch.
“You’re constantly busy.” Shiloh, her older sister, tells her, sitting next to her Zyaire. The two of them were well into their late thirties and looked amazing for their age. She had hoped to look just as good as them when she aged. It didn’t make it any easier when her twin brothers were born, well into their early thirties and looking like they were teenagers.
“She is a platinum recording artist.” Duke, one twin, speaks, his head stuffed in her fridge.
“Don’t forget, she’s a dancer, writer, and producer.” Dennis adds, in the kitchen right along with his twin, raiding her pantry. She had hoped they would leave Jey’s snacks that hid in the back alone. She bought them for him.
” Baby sis, stay busy.” Zyaire stares at her. “So who is he?”
Soraya glances at him, confused. “Huh?”
“Huh.” He mocks. “Who is he, Raya?” Zyaire had noted the men’s shoes in a bin next to her couch, the random bottles of cologne on her kitchen island. His sister was seeing someone.
“There is no he..” She starts, unsure if he was serious or just joking.
“She must think we dumb.” Zyaire cuts her off, laughing with the twins. Soraya tucks a lip between her teeth, feeling small under her brother's presence. She loathed communicating to him. He was constantly trying to be somebody’s daddy. Their own dad didn’t speak to them this way.
“Is it Dame?” He frowns at her now. He had hoped it wasn’t him. Zyaire couldn’t stand the nigga, and would rather lay hands on him for how he treated his little sister. Shiloh smacks his shoulder, seeing the overprotective part of him coming out. A part of him she knew all too well.
“What, she let this nigga bitch her out?” The amount of yelling that occurred gave Soraya a headache. She didn’t hear what they said as she raced up the stairs to her room. They could let themselves out, she thought. She goes in her bathroom and shuts the door behind her, locking it before sitting on the wall to clear her mind for a minute.
Soraya cared for her siblings, but sometimes, they could be too much. Especially with the large age difference between them. They were fun, but by the time she was old enough, they were already out of the house and experiencing life. They treated her like a baby. Gentle knocks on the door breaks her trance.
“Raya.”
She frowns, hearing her sister’s voice. “The boys left. Just me.” She stands, opening the door, she turns the light on to her closet. Shiloh watches her walk through the rack of clothes. Soraya was always a perfectionist, and it trailed into her everyday life. Her wardrobe was color-coded and by the season. The blue and white WWE gear stood out like a sore thumb. A small smirk forms on Shiloh’s face.
“It’s Joshua, isn’t it?”
Soraya wondered what gave it away, but it didn’t surprise her, she guessed, without asking questions. After all, she was engaged to his cousin, Joe. She smiles at the thought of the couple's dates with her sister and cousin Trinity. She grabs a dress from a hanger, letting it rest on her body.
“You think this is too much for a date?” She turns to Shiloh, glancing at her. Shiloh has a small smile on her face.
“Yeah, did he say where he was taking you?”
“Nope.” She sighs, tossing the gown somewhere, shocking her sister, as Soraya hated clothes on the floor. “He just said to be ready at 8.”
Shiloh had spent the better part of the day helping her younger sister get ready. Soraya had told her about how they've been together officially for a month now, and it had happened recently.
“So, are you guys going public?”
Soraya, putting on her heels, shakes her head. “No.” She stands up, running her hands through her hair, fluffing out the tight curls.
” Did he agree to that?”
A soft knock came at her door. Looking at the clock, it was eight on the dot. “I’m not ready to tell anyone.” She grabs her phone and purse, leaving her sister to watch her leave. The long trek down the stairs had her anxious. Her hand grasps the doorknob, twisting it open. On the other side, he stood dressed in a white shirt and light-washed distressed jeans. In his hands, he carried a vase of flowers.
“Hi.” she whispers, feeling giddy under his affectionate gaze. She walks closer, wrapping her arms around his neck. His lips press delicately to her cheek, inhaling her expensive scent.
“Hey pretty girl. Are you ready?”
“Mhm. Yes.”
“Hi Jey.” They glanced back, and her sister was standing behind her. “Don't worry. The secret is safe with me.” She lifts her fingers in scout's of honor. “Have her back home in a reasonable hour, yeah?”
Jey laughs lowly with a nod, holding Soraya’s hand in his own. “I got chu.” He leads Soraya out to his truck. Opening the passenger side for, he leans down. “You look sexy tonight, mamas.”
Soraya appreciated her deeper complexion, any brighter, and you would see the warm flush of her cheeks turning red. He plants a brief peck on her lips. The door slamming shut as he went to his side.
The ride was short, but agonizing. His large hand resting on her thigh, his thumb rubbing circles into her skin. The powerful scent of wood and musk filled her nose, making her eyes roll at how the smell suited him. His new mullet hairstyle shaped his head perfectly, stopping at the base of his collar. The black strands of hair curling wildly away from his neck
“Where are you taking me?” She eventually breaks the comfortable silence.
“A surprise.” He keeps it short. He shivers at her nails grazing the skin on his nape. He briefly closes his eyes, exhaling deeply. He puts his focus on the road.
“I don’t do surprises.”
His eyebrow arches in amusement, giving her thigh a gentle squeeze. “You’ll love this one.”
Soraya loved the surprise. His hands were placed on her waist as he guided her to a restaurant that had to be reserved months in advance. She had complained to him about being on the waitlist for just a reservation.
“How do you-How did you do?” She turns to stare at him. A triumphant smirk appeared on his face.
“I pulled a few strings.”
Their table wasn’t ready, so they remained in a secluded section, soothing music playing in the background. Soraya pressed her back against his chest, letting him hug her from behind, pressing tender kisses along the side of her face.
“Missed you so much.” He grumbles, swaying them side to side.
“I missed you more.” Soraya murmurs, turning in his arms. She wraps his arms around his neck, wishing to be buried in his skin, but this would have to do.
” We have to talk about it.”
“About what?” Soraya knew what, she had hoped he would forget about it.
”Us and the privacy of our relationship.”
She struggles to step back, but his grip on her was firm. He dreaded this conversation just as much as she did. They were living on the high of being together, and have yet communicated to each other about what they wanted from each other.
“I don’t want everyone to know.” She mumbles. “At least, not yet.”
He had a hint on why she remained private, and he was okay with that, or he thought he was. “We can at least tell our folks yea?”
The silence between them was thick. On one hand, her sister already knew, and she was bound to spill it to her family, more so because she wasn’t doing it the traditional way. Her Samoan culture refused to let her keep it from family, and she hated she was deep-rooted in her heritage, but embraced the gentle gestures that came with it. She realized it wasn’t fair to force him keep it from his family.
A sharp breath leaves her lips, his coarse hand smoothing up and down her back. Jey’s eyes never left her face, watching the subtle crease in her eyebrows when she took out out her phone. The vivid red lettering caught his eyes.
XL Artist, Dame has released several documents. In those documents, he implicates recording artist Soraya as an associate in his endeavors.
She places her phone back in her bag, not wanting to spoil the night. He could tell her mood was sour. He shifts her to his other side, guiding her to a chair, making her sit. She watches him, confused. Jey, with a slight tug of his jeans to adjust them, sits at one of the many pianos.
His finger glides smoothly over the keys, piecing together a melody of notes, using his skills as a way of distracting her. A soft smile on her face at the hidden talent. She uses her phone to sneak a quick picture before they were seated. Refusing to put any distance between them, He squishes her in the booth, making her giggle.
“No space, huh?”
“Nope. I haven’t seen or touched you for a month.” He leans down next to her ear. “I also can’t do this if I’m on the other side.”
Before she could ask what he meant, his hand closest to her found its way up the white dress she was wearing, fingers treading carefully in uncharted territory. The pads of his fingers teasing along the band of her underwear.
“Jey.” she warns, breathing hitching in her throat at the contact of his fingers drawing back the band to slip his fingers inside her soaked underwear.
He presses his lips to her ear, leaving delicate kisses along the shell. “Are you wet for me?” He murmurs, his tone dangerously deep. An appreciative sigh leaves her own, with a nod. He works her up gradually, moving his fingers in tight circles until her thighs crush his hand.
“So fuckin’ wet, princess.” He sighs, pulling his hand back. She watches him aroused at the way he sucked his fingers clean, wanting his mouth where his fingers were.
The meal was fairly nice. He splurged on the tasting menu, knowing she would have a hard time picking what she wanted to try first. They ate in a comfortable silence, bringing up their likes and dislikes, reminiscing about the moment they almost got together. So into each other, they hadn’t noticed the lack of people in the restaurant.
“What do you want from me?” He asks the question that was burning in the back of his head. He had hoped she could see a future with him. She was it for him and god willing, she would be his wife one day. Soraya, knowing what he was asking, shuffled into her seat. Her hands reached down to grab his own, intertwining their fingers together. “Long-term, short -term, or what do you want?” He questions.
She was surprised by the question. She figured they were together, and in an actual relationship. “I thought we made it official?”
Jey flexes his shoulders back, taking a small sip of the now watered-down coke. “We did.” He shifts around in the booth to lean back and look at her. Her soft brown eyes staring up at him. “We just need to set some expectations.”
She groans. “It’s that conversation.”
“Yes, it’s that conversation.” He chuckles, moving the arm that was holding her hand to rest around her back. His large hand rubbing circles on the bare flesh of her thigh. “I’ll start.” His legs instinctively spread on, allowing her own to drape over his thighs. “I want honest and open communication between us. I just want you to know you can trust and feel protected with me.”
She does. The moment he saved her three years ago, she knew he was a safe space. He was her safe space. He continues on about trust, and honestly, he rambles on making sure he forgot nothing. She places a tender smooch on his mouth, shutting him up. His lips moving against hers in a passionate kiss. Her hands rested on his chest before pushing him back when he tried to deepen the kiss. She needed a a minute to breathe. Just kissing him made her dizzy in the best way possible.
“You’re it for me Joshua.” It was entirely true. If this didn’t work out with him, she was going to stay single for life. She wasn’t going to find anyone like him. He disregards her calling him by his government, liking how it sounds when she said it.
“Good.” He whispers before kissing her again, distracting her from his movement and digging his hand in his pocket. A soft thud hitting the table pulls her back. “I have something for you.”
Soraya peeks at the small brown leather-skin box in his hand. A small smile forms on her face when she grabs it. The box wasn’t new, just new to her. The same box his cousin Joe had given her sister before they made it official. Her fingers smoothed over the flat corners, tracing the patterns of the ridged leather. He watches in anticipation as she opens the box. A surprised gasp leaving her lips.
“Joshua.” She whines.
”Mhm, open it.” He urges with a smile.
Lifting the piece of fabric in the box, her look of surprise turns into a small pout. She runs her fingers along the small white pearls that were woven around the band. It feathered down to the center where a white flower rested on a leather cut-out. In its center was a small blue-lavender moonstone. She realized he must have talked to Joe. He was the only person who knew about her family’s love of pearls and birthstones. A soft sigh leaves her mouth, leaning up to kiss him. He welcomes the kiss. Though, the present may be pointless to some. It was something they shared, being of Samoan culture. The gifting of jewelry to represent the new relationship. Usually, the present from the guy to the girl. There were countless other rules they were skipping. They would deal with the consequences later.
The constant buzzing of their phones frustrated them as they left the restaurant. Hand in hand, they both pull out their phones. His brows arched, confused. He felt her tense, and he didn’t have to look at her to know she was fuming.
Recording artist Soraya, mentioned in a recent court case against the mother of Dame’s child. She says Soraya knew the nature of her relationship with Dame and continued to pursue him. She then retaliated against him when he came out about the true nature of their affair. Hence, her name Fatal, Attraction. It is also said she was the one who fed his addiction, then sent him to rehab as a way of controlling him.
Rap artist Dame has confirmed these allegations with an interview at the breakfast club.” Yeah man, I met her in the studio, told her I had a girl. She didn’t care. I finally broke away from her crazy ass, and she pulled strings to get my catalog removed. Bitch is insane. I pray for anyone who’s tapping that.”
He thought she was bluffing and called her bluff. Don’t worry, she had a surprise for him.

you blinked rapidly to keep yourself awake for the umpteenth time this evening. who knew award shows could be so boring? obviously not you - if you had known, you would’ve passed on chan’s offer and supported him in your shared home with a pint of ice cream and comfy pajamas as opposed to an uncomfortable gown and hors d’oeuvres that were anything but filling. side by side you sat, your arm wrapped around chan’s as the two of you clapped for the winner of whatever award they just announced. god you were bored, and tired, and so ready to go home. the only thing keeping you going was chan, and how absolutely delicious he looked in his two piece suit. the black dress shirt had three buttons undone, smooth chest decorated with a pretty gold chain exposed. the sight alone had you drooling, needy hands slipping under his suit jacket occasionally to try and pull his attention away from the stage. you had tried - and failed - multiple times, the last attempt ending with a kiss to your temple and a low whisper that send chills down your spine. “hands to yourself, baby, or you’re going to regret it.” so you kept your hands to yourself. honestly, you had behaved well, and chan was starting to relax a bit once your antics were under control. when you slipped away to the bathroom, he thought nothing of it. when you came back and kissed his cheek, he thought you were just being sweet. it wasn’t until your hand found his upper thigh, something plush between them, that he began to think you didn’t heed his words at all. there was not stopping the smooth movement of your hand into his pocket, humming happily as you deposited whatever was in your hand before pulling away. when chan reached in his pocket, fingers coming in contact with the rough, wet lace of your panties, he felt his face flush with annoyance. what if someone had caught you? had saw what you had done? but you just smiled at him, teeth tugging your lower lip in, and chan had no choice. “we’re leaving. now.”
falling asleep on an airplane is easier said than done, regardless of what class you’re sitting in. fluffing your pillow, yet again, you decide to lean in on the armrest that separate you from minho, who had been softly snoring for the better part of an hour. he looked so sweet, eyelashes brushing against the upper part of his cheeks when his eyes twitched, dreams swirling behind the lids. mouth parted and showcasing his bunny teeth, a drop of drool hanging on for dear life in the corner. minho looked so peaceful, so soft…you wanted to hit him with your pillow out of envy. stupid boyfriend who can fall asleep anywhere without even trying, and look so fucking cute while doing so. ugh, you were annoyed, pulling the strings of your hoodie until your face was hidden, no feature but your nose shown. this position could actually work - your eyes felt really heavy, thoughts starting to lose control. so close, so close to finally falling asleep - until a forceful bump, the turbulence making your eyes shoot open immediately. groaning, you brought your hood down and sat up. a glance to your left showed you that minho was also now up, eyes squinted at you as if trying to figure out what the dramatics were for. he asked how long he had been asleep, and that just sent you over the edge, climbing over him to get to the bathroom. frustrated, you slammed the door shut, leaning against the tiny room’s wall to try and breathe. it wasn’t his fault you couldn’t sleep, the seat too small and your mind too active, but it was stupid that you had to suffer alone. the joke minho made as the plane took off crossed your mind - “wake me up when you’re ready to join the mile high club.” - and you really couldn’t stop yourself from wiggling out of your biker shorts, panties balled up and stuck in your hoodie pocket. when you stepped out of the bathroom, you took your time to take in the rest of the riders. your section was mostly empty, as most red eyes are, everyone either asleep or trying to do so. this made your plan much easier to execute. stopping right in front of minho’s seat, you leaned on the empty seat in front of him. eyes glued on his phone, it took him a second to realize that you were standing above him, a playful smile on your face. just as he was about to ask what you needed, your panties were on his face. the silence between the two of you was thick, silk panties still clinging to his face as he tried to process what just happened. when it clicked, they were ripped off his face and shoved into his jogger’s pocket, the seatbelt click loud in the quiet cabin. “get your ass back to the bathroom.”
when you started dating, you quickly found out that changbin’s love language was gifts. he loved the way your face lit up at the sight of a present; be it a baby blue box or a bag of gummy worms from the convenient store, there was always thought behind what he bought for you. it made you feel fuzzy, and even though you had told him many times that he didn’t have to buy you anything, he always went out of his way to do so. thus began the monthly trips to the mall, an unlimited budget for the day as he took you to every store and bought anything you even looked at. at first, you felt guilty, watching changbin buy things for you, but eventually you learned to appreciate it, thanking him endlessly every time. it’s how he expresses his love, and you couldn’t break his heart by denying him. this month was special - his birthday, and your anniversary, were coming up, and you really wanted to get something special for him. both you and changbin had gone opposite ways when entering the mall, his credit card tucked into your wallet as you made a beeline to your favorite lingerie store. almost an hour was spent in the dressing room, trying on different sets while attendants came and went, bringing new ones and taking ones you didn’t like. a particular set stood out the most. it wasn’t really special, just a frilly, white push-up bra with high waisted matching panties, but you couldn’t take your eyes off yourself when it was on your body. and if you couldn’t, bin was done for. opting to wear it out of the store, you put your dress over the set, paid for your other items, and quickly found your boyfriend waiting outside the shop. tight black shirt with jeans that were a bit too smug, with the confidence the new lingerie set gave you, it was hard to contain yourself. contain your want. changbin gathered you in his arms, kissing peppered across your face before he tried to take a peek in the bag. slapping his shoulder and scolding him, the two of you laughed before he let go of you. “can’t wait to see what you bought for me, doll.” he joked before stepping away. you were about to tell him that he didn’t have to wait long, when you remembered the pair of panties you wore to the mall sitting in the bottom of the shopping bag. instead, you just smiled, following him as he pulled you to the next store. and you waited. and waited, and waited, until changbin was calling your name from the dressing room, wanting your opinion on a new shirt. once the door shut behind you, you frowned, telling him that you thought something was missing. when he questioned your statement, you stuffed the previous pair of panties in the dress shirt pocket, “completing” the look. he pulled the panties out, turning them in his hand before balling them up and stuffing them in your mouth. one hand on your hip, he turned you around, pushing your body against the door. a flip of your skirt revealed the new pair, and the groan he was released was a bit too loud for public. changbin grabbed your ass with both hands, squeezing firmly and reveling in the texture of the panties against his bare hands. “you’re really giving me no choice but to fuck you dumb, hm?”
you dropped your mouth, tongue poking and eyes shut as you patiently waited for hyunjin to take his turn. the two of you often played this game when you went on a picnic; one person would close their eyes, waiting for the other person to either feed them or give them something. when the item was received, the person had to guess what was given to them. it was an easy, lighthearted game, that often left the two of you in a fit of giggles, excitedly planning your next move. it was hyunjin’s turn now, and he insisted on food. you felt a little silly, sitting with your eyes closed and tongue out in a public park, but the lack of people out today made it much less embarrassing to be in such a vulnerable state. and luckily, you didn’t have to wait long - the sweet, acidic taste hitting your tongue within seconds of your eyes closing. pulling it in your mouth, you hummed as you chewed, pretending to consider what was just given to you. it was obviously pineapple, but what fun is it to guess right away? chewing and chewing, you finally guess, trying to appear skeptical. you opened your eyes to see hyunjin smiling sweetly at you, giddy as he confirmed your guess. the celebration was brief, hyunjin quickly shutting his eyes to let you know he was ready for his turn. you chose an item, though you couldn’t really focus on finding something for his held out hands. he looked so darling today; black hair pulled back in a half pony, wavy strands framing his face softly. his features were sharp, and his lips looked more plush than normal. his lips. his pretty, pillowy soft lips that were so addictive. god, you almost crawled across the blanket to press your lips against them, craving their taste right now. he always kissed you so good, be it your lips or your neck, your collarbones or your chest. your thighs or your pussy. his lips were sent you straight to heaven whenever they touched your body, and all you wanted was to feel them on you now. checking your surroundings, you slipped your panties off, placing the lightweight material in his cupped hands. you two never specified what category the item had to be in, and you were certain he wouldn’t get this right away. hyunjin squinted, pretty lips pouting in confusion as he rubbed the panties between his long fingers. “it’s wet, and soft…why is it wet?” he wondered aloud, making you more excited about your choice this turn. he spent a good minute feeling it, fingers running around the hem of it, before he brought it up to his nose. you couldn’t help but giggle, a blush creeping your neck as he inhaled your scent. you watched as it clicked, his eyes opening quickly and landing right on you before he looked down at the white panties in his hands. giggles spilled from you, watching as your boyfriend began to blush. you missed the way he checked his surroundings, much like you did, before gripping your hips and pulling you across the blanket. when your back hit the ground, and you felt his hands under your dress, suddenly your were out of giggles. hyunjin laid on his stomach before hiking your legs over his shoulder, mouth immediately latching onto your clit. “dirty, dirty girl. making me hungry for something other than lunch.”
jisung gripped your hand like it was about to detach from your arm, pulling you into the haunted corn maze with a cheesy grin on his face. he had been looking forward to this day for weeks, excitedly reminding you about it daily. when he woke up this morning, he was practically bouncing off the walls, texting you every hour to make sure you were ready to go when he got home from work. it didn’t matter that the sun hadn’t even fully set yet when you crossed the threshold, he was just so happy to be there. it was cute, the excited bounce he had to his step and the way his screams were laced with giggles from jump scares. to want to do anything other than this would be simply evil, especially considering your boyfriend was radiating pure joy. he was so happy, so immersed in the experience, that he definitely got the two of you lost. you had both wandered so off course, there weren’t any actors left to scare you in the opposite direction. dead end after dead end, and the joy was starting to fizzle out, an annoyed frustration taking its place. he had no one to blame but himself for this - not that he thought of blaming you. it was obvious that his frustration was getting you nowhere, so you pulled on his hand, making him stop to collect himself. together you took a few deep breaths, reassured him that you will find your way out, and that it will all be okay. but it was getting darker, and jisung was so close to just walking through the corn stalks. he needed a distraction, or he was going to combust into a fury of frustration and tears. letting go of his hand, you fell back a step, and in his bubbling rage, he didn’t even notice. quickly, you slipped your panties off before running to catch up with your unsuspecting boyfriend. grabbing his hand, you felt him immediately squeeze hard, trying to ground himself. better now than never, huh? you stopped him again, telling him you needed a break. with an eye roll, he let go of you, walking to the new dead end you two hit. he leaned against the corn stalks and crossed his arms, grunting in frustration. “what’s so important that we have to stop now?” in all fairness, his frustration was justified, especially considering the fearful screams of other players had gotten louder. you were closer to getting back on track, why stop now? “catch.” he didn’t have time to question it before something was flying towards his face. jisung was grateful for his quick reflexes, snatching the object out of the air the second it was within reached. unfurling the fabric, he was confronted with your wet panties, not missing the way you smirked at him as he studied them. he huffed a laugh, pushing himself off the stalks as he pocketed the red fabric. his lips were on yours in an instance, every ounce of frustration and aggression taken out with tongue and teeth. one hand cupped your cheek while the other slid under your skirt. his fingers moved with ease from your slick, swallowing all of your moans as he stuffed two of them inside you. suddenly, jisung was grateful for his poor navigation. “make sure you scream for me, baby.”
the bass vibrates the floor, climbing up your legs and swirling around your body until it felt like it was swallowing you. praising yourself for remembering ear plugs, you nodded your head to the music, hips gently moving to the beat. felix stood behind you, eyes focused on the stage and hands firmly holding your hips as to not lose you in the crowd. the concert hall was packed; sweaty bodies pushed against each other and alcohol falling from cups raised over heads. felix had chosen a spot more off on stage left, on the outskirts of the crowd. still surrounded by bodies, but less of the push and shove of the inner crowd. you felt safe, both because of where you were standing and because of your boyfriend, who pulled you closer any time someone got into your space. occasionally you would roll your head back onto his shoulder, lips pouting out and begging for a kiss. he looked so pretty under the neon lights, the sweat on his hairline almost sparkling. felix would indulge you every time, one hand coming to grip your chin from underneath as his lips found yours. every time, he got closer and closer to choking you, and every time, a new gush of heat hit your core. his hands always fit so perfectly around your neck, lips smooth against your own. this time, when you asked for another kiss and he reached up to grab you, you moved his hand, latching it to your neck. his groan was lost in the music, but you still felt it, still heard it. this kiss was more hungry, teeth scraping your lips as he squeezed your throat just slightly. the cool metal of his rings made it so much better, head dizzy with want. pushing your hips back against yours, you decided to grab his other hand, bringing it down to your thigh and slowly moving it up your dress- “not now.” he mumbles against your lips, a soft smack to your thighs before pulling his hand away. felix brought his head back up, eyes focusing back on the band while you began to simmer. rarely does he reject your advances and he didn’t really reject you. just told you to wait. but to be fair, you weren’t the best at waiting. pretending to drop something, you leaned down, trying to be as subtle as possible as your pulled your panties off. once they were secured in your palm, you stood back up and wasted no time looking back up at him. less than two minutes since he last kissed you, felix playfully rolled his eyes before leaning back in. his lips didn’t even brush yours before you shoved your panties in his hand, pulling his attention downwards. he looked at his hand, then back to you, then towards the exit before stowing them in a safe spot. a hand grabbed your throat, directing it towards the stage while his other one moved in between your bodies, hand sneaking up your bare cunt from behind. “eyes on the stage, angel, and don’t make it noticeable. i’m not stopping until you cum on my hand.”
studying with seungmin usually goes one of two ways; you actually study and feel like you have a grip on the material, or you fuck. there’s no in between. when you agreed to study with him today, you wanted it to be the latter, but the more the clock ticked, the more it seemed that seungmin intended on the former. nose buried in a organic chemistry textbook, his hand moved a pen across his notebook without even looking up, somehow staying inside the lines perfectly as he took notes. meanwhile, your art history essay was long forgotten, the intro poorly written and laptop screen darkening as it began to sleep. studying sounded so boring, but you know what didn’t? crawling on your knees, under the table, and letting seungmin fuck your face in the middle of the library. that sounded fun, and always led to something you would enjoy. elbow propped on the table, head in hand, you stared at seungmin as your thoughts ran wild, thinking of any and every way he could take you on this table. it seemed sturdy enough, after all, it held up the weight of his billion textbooks with ease. eventually he caught you staring, brown eyes flickering up from the text to question you. brushing it off as a break, seungmin went back to work, clearly not ready to take one with you. you couldn’t help but sigh, slouching back in your chair. fingers twisting the hem of your dress, you tried to calm down. to stop the thoughts racing through your head. you were so tired of studying, all you wanted was seungmin to fuck you until you blacked out. is that too much to ask? “hey, babe? can you hand me my biology book?” his voice was low from minimal use, and to keep quiet in the library. you nodded in agreement, his focus falling back to his notes after everything was said and down. rummaging through the stack, you found the textbook you were looking for. when you pulled it out, his fabric bookmark broke free, falling onto the carpeted floor. …fabric, hm? would he even notice if it was replace with something different? the book slid across the table, knocking against the one already laid out. not looking up, seungmin flipped it open to the tabbed page, your black panties on full display against the white pages. it was hard to contain yourself as he moved his attention to the new book, and especially hard when his eyes widened at the bookmark replacement. quickly shutting the book, annoyed eyes found yours, not breaking as you heard the unmistakable sound of a zipper. “if you needed something to do, you could have just asked.”
carnivals weren’t your favorite thing in the world, but with jeongin, anything was fun. the two of you spent the majority of the night laughing, pulling each other to silly, money guzzling games or stuffing your face with various fair foods. each game was unsuccessful, and spending $8 on cotton candy seemed excessive, but you couldn’t find it in you to care. your boyfriend’s smile as he pushed the soft candy past your lips was enough to ease every last worry of yours. jeongin blew money on a house of mirrors, hid between you in the haunted house with bad jump scares. you two took way too many pictures in the photo booth, jeongin insisting that each time needed a different theme. after multiple kissing, silly, and smiley photos, you two headed to what you had been waiting for all night: the ferris wheel. nothing beat stopping at the top, the ocean stretched out and sparkling under the moon light. it was something you could do all night, and something jeongin would funnel money into. anything to make you happy - he would do. on your third time around, the lights on the wheel flickered. you thought you were imagining it; that’s never happened before, has it? suddenly, every light on the pier shut off, mutters of confusion filling the wooden planks. you looked at your boyfriend, and he just shrugged, leaning over the two seater to look down at the ground. a loud voice announced that the power had gone out - they didn’t expect it to be out long, asking everyone to hang tight while they figured it out. as unsettling as the loss of power was, it was hard to be upset; your carriage was half way up the wheel, pointing right out at the ocean. jeongin sat next to you, head on your shoulder as he stared out at it. it was almost relaxing - being up high, staring out into the night with the man you loved. that is, until his hand grabbed your thigh, sneaking under your dress. you scolded him, pushing his hand down and making him pout. “it’s not my fault you look so damn good in a sundress.” he sealed his words with a kiss to your bare shoulder, arm moving around your shoulders to keep off your thighs. but the damage was done. your panties were almost sticking to you at this point. you could still feel the heat of his hand on your thigh. and you couldn’t even squirm, couldn’t even rub your thighs together without rocking the carrier. stuck to suffer, waiting until the power came on…no. fuck that. you can’t wait. with a little shimmy, you pulled your panties off and placed them in jeongin’s lap, staring up at him with a smile. the hand on your shoulder grabbed the nape of your neck, pulling you in for a deep, firm kiss. your hands were everywhere, creeping up his shirt, tugging at his belt loops while his free one grabbed the thigh closest to him, pulling it up and putting in on his leg. your hand palmed his hardening cock, moaning as he found your clit. “think you can cum before the lights come back on?”

Tumblr media
Winter.
Something you loved but also hated. You hated the way it bit at your fingers but you loved the way it made for some beautiful moments.
You especially loved how clingy it made your boyfriend, Tōru Oikawa, the infamous setter of Seijoh, known for his gorgeous looks and mean attitude on court was actually a softy pants. Especially when it came to you.
However, there was one thing he wouldn’t do, and that was give you any sort of affection in public, not yet anyway, though your relationship wasn’t exactly “new” it was unknown to many and until he was ready to tell people that you were dating, it would remain a secret.
It wasn’t because he was embarrassed, or anything to do with you, it wasn’t even anything to do with him, no, it was to do with his fans. Though Tōru loved the attention and fawning he received from his fans he was also deathly afraid of them. After the time they attempted to get Iwaizumi expelled for being “too close” to him he thought better of telling people about you, to protect you.
However, there were still people who knew, like Iwaizumi, Matsukawa and Hanamaki, since you often times showed up to many hang out sessions, Tōru thought telling them would be just fine.
And it was.
Except, it wasn’t. This whole secretive things was driving you a little nuts. You understood why Oikawa wanted to do it, if anything you were grateful but at times like these you cursed him to hell and back. All you wanted to do was warm up in your boyfriend’s embrace and yet, you couldn’t. Because he would say the same snobby thing that he does every time you try to so much as hold his hand anywhere other than the comfort of each other’s privacy.
“Now now, Y/N little eager?” Dick. You loved him but he’s still a dick.
You had half a mind to give him a piece of your mind when you finally arrived to school.
You were walking as quickly as you could, trying to get to school as fast as you could to be out of this cold. You had your thickest scarf and your puffiest coat on and yet it still wasn’t enough. Your poor legs were freezing off.
When you got to the front gates of the school you were met with a seemingly pissed Iwaizumi, bringing your borderline jog to a halt.
“Iwa?” He startled and looked at you. Some of that sour mood of his dissipating from his features upon seeing you.
“Y/N.”
“You look extremely pissed for so early in the morning, what’sup?” You moved so you were a little closer to him, trying your absolute hardest to not shiver.
“Crappykawas fans girls.” He sighed and rolled his eyes, gesturing towards the scene behind him, the same scene you were seeing for the umpteenth time this week. “You know, they don’t usually piss me off this bad, but today, they’re really pissing me off. I’m so cold and shittykawa won’t hurry the hell up.”
“Well then why didn’t you just leave him?”
“Because, you know how it is with him, you should know better than me. His shitty ass would whine like a damn baby if I left him.”
You giggled to yourself, it was true, Tōru had a tendency to whine about things like that. “He can suck it up.” You smiled, bitterly. Sure, you loved your boyfriend all the world but he did piss you off with this stuff.
“I’ll never hear the end of it. Why don’t you step in?”
“Why would I? It’s not like people know we’re—” you moved an inch closer checking your surroundings and lowered your voice. “—dating.”
“Yeah, but still, people know you’re his friend, and they’re all afraid of you.”
“No they’re afraid of you.”
“No”
“Yes, that’s why they wanted you expelled because they were too scared of going near Tōru when you were around.” You snickered to yourself at the sheer memory of the chaos that unfolded last year, all due to Oikawas silly little fan girls.
He scoffed. “Yeah right. It’s whatever anyway, they’re scared of you so do something.” He started to push you in the direction of Oikawa. Surely Tōru would get mad at you for this but, it was starting to piss you off the way they were all over him.
Besides, it just so happens you just caught one of them grabbing his bicep.
“Crappykawa.”
At the sound of your voice, Tōru span on his heel. There was no wrath he feared more than yours, Iwaizumis a close second .
“Ah, Y/N. Ahah. To what do I owe the honour.” Oh, so he was trying the flattery game.
“Let’s go.”
“Yes yes, right sorry ladies but I must go!” There was an uproar of “awwwhs” until one girl shouted,
“Why would you listen to her, is she like, your girlfriend?”
Both of your heads span in the direction of the girl, you cheeks burnt with heat, a shocking contrast the the temperature of your body.
“N-no! He just-he-he needs to go he can’t be catching a cold in this weather or else you won’t be able to watch him play!” nice save, you thought to yourself. Now, you had the perfect excuse you grab him by the sleeve and start dragging him inside. Iwaizumi in tow.
You let go of Oikawa when your got the gym, letting him walk inside by himself. You whined and looked at your fingers, they were bright red from the nipping cold outside.
“Tōruuu!” You whined again and reached your hands out to Oikawa. “Please help me warm my hands up.” He grabbed them, span you around and put his hands over your hands in your pockets, warming you up immediately.
He did this a lot, didn’t say a single word but did exactly what you needed.
“Sorry about that Iwa.” Tōrus voice was as bashful as ever.
“No you’re not. Shittykawa, you’re egos too big and they fuel it. If you just told them you were dating someone, especially Y/N they would just leave you alone then I wouldn’t have to half freeze to death. All those girls are mildly afraid of Y/N I don’t see why the hell you can’t just say you’re dating her and have done with it, seriously, it’s almost been a year.”
Iwa made a good point, and a good opening for you to give him a piece of your mind. “Yeah, Tōru why can’t we tell people now? I wanna be able to do this type of stuff wherever not just in private. Also, I’m sick of seeing those girls touching you so much…you are mine after all.”
“You’re both right. I just worry they may try to hurt you and thats just the last thing I want.”
“Pleaseeeee, I can look after myself!” you looked at him, batting your eyelashes in that way you knew he couldn’t resist.
“Fine.”
“Thank GOD.” Iwaizumi span on his heel and left the gym letting the cold winter air flood in, except this time, your boyfriend would protect you from the cold.
Winter.
From now on, you loved it.
