My love, is mine all mine - Max Verstappen x Norris! Reader x Charles Leclerc Part 1

Plot: Norris' Twin sister is also a driver in the 2021 line up and is in her rookie era. Not only do the commentators struggle to now talk about the pair in the race, but they also struggle to talk about talent. What happens when two drivers find her eye-catching.

A/N: A lot of back story explaining the 2021 season so far!

"So when we talk about the Norris twins, obviously due to Y/N being female it has pushed her career back further than her brothers, where she is debuting into McLaren alongside her brother we will be able to see a real test of talent"

"Yes i think it will be really interesting to see them both in the same team competing against one another while still driving for that same team. They have very similar driving styles and I can imagine them helping one another out when it comes to pole positions and keeping both of them within the top ten for points" Jenso replies to Nico.

This was from an interview at the start of the 2021 season, just before your first race in Bahrain. When Zac Brown reached out to you, you were more than happy to take up the offer. Being able to not only race alongside your brother once again but by being his team mate as well had you so excited for the season.

Bahrain went really well, Lando being in his 3rd year of Formula 1 and within the same team now felt comfortable in his car, and it had the pace this year and he came P4, you had some difficulties where you weren't fully used to the difference in the F1 car, compared too your old F2 but still managed to wrangle 6 points for the team in P7.

Imola came after a larger break where you and Lando got to travel home for a few weeks before and check on everything in the MTC before travelling to Italy. Lando got a podium in P3 and like the interview had said, he kept enough of a time gap to help you defend of the two Ferrari's behind you. You came P4. To say that Charles wasn't happy with this, as you knocked him down a place was an understatement.

Portugal was the week after and you travelled straight there, sightseeing with your brother, Daniel, Carlos and Charles. You would often leave them in bars and clubs and find yourself in cafe's and museums. Portugal wasn't as good as a race as you could have hoped, but even with car issues you still managed to get points in P9, while your brother came P5.

After this race, where you went straight to Spain, you started to get home sick. Only having your brother by your side as your parents and other siblings couldn't come out for the last few races due to their own busy schedules. Spain was an incredible race for you making you feel better for the next week ahead. You came P4 managing to overtake Charles on the last lap, which again heavily annoyed him, and very nearly catching up to the Mercedes in P3 while you left your brother in the dust in P8.

There was another break after this race, you and Lando both went home you saw Max and his girlfriend who you'd missed dearly and your family, then Charles had invited you and Lando to come spend some time on his yacht in Monaco with his younger brother who you knew of from the F2 garage when he'd been invited to come watch.

You had been nervous for the race in Monaco, it was a difficult track and so far, you hadn't been in a position where you hadnt gained the team points. However Monaco was clearly not your race, from the mixture of your nerves and car issues you came P12, while you brother stood on the podium, in P3.

The next week in Azerbaijan went so much better, with Max, and both Mercedes not having pace, you'd managed some effortless overtakes and insanely quick pit stops. You'd had a second pit stop and was on fresher tires that your brother so you were behind him, you were flying and going much quicker than him but your engineer didn't want you to go for the overtake.

You did anyway against their advice, pushing until you were behind Charles Leclerc's Ferrari, you went for a cheap move that you knew was safe but would have him fuming in interviews afterwards until you were up alongside Pierre Gasly, you were P4 and he was P3, driving alongside him you couldn't tell who went over the checked flag until you heard from your radio engineer that this was your first podium win.

You cried... of course you did. But this was the start of a rocky patch for you and Lando, he was fuming at you the minute you got out of your car. You were asked not to go for the overtake but you did anyway. He was yelling in your face angrily, taking away the beaming smile.

Lando hadn't realized you'd got your first podium, he was just angry that you'd bumped him down a place. You looked upset on your podium, a sad smile as you raised you trophy, stood up there with Sergio and Sebastian. They'd both given you a hug trying to cheer you up having seen on the TV what happened with you and Lando.

"Well done on your win Y/N" a voice startled you as you turned to your side seeing Max Verstappen stood there congratulating you.

"Thank you. I'm sorry about the DNF, France will be better next weekend for you I'm sure" you smile, a light blush held on his face.

"I'm also sorry about how your brother reacted. I've been in this sport for 6 years now and as a word of advise sometimes you have to go against what your team ask of you, you gained more points for the team today than you would have if you did stay put behind your brother. So take it as not only as a win for you but a win for McLaren as well" he smiles before pulling you into a comforting hug. His words had really hit you, nobody had said that to you today, but then again Seb and Checo probably didn't here the opposing radios yet as they'd been on the podium with you.

"Thank you, i really needed to here that Max" you smile genuinely.

"Hey, that overtake was so risky!" a voice shouts over, and thundering footsteps stand behind you.

"Huh?" you'd asked looking over your shoulder, Max's gaze following yours.

"Charles, leave her alone!" Max says with pointed eyes at the Ferrari golden boy coming close to you.

"No, she needs to stop doing overtakes like that at the last minute. They are dangerous and have no thought behind them, you even put your own brother at risk today because she can't listen to her own team" he yells his exaggerated hand gestures going everywhere.

"Her overtakes today was phenomenal. She just got her first podium, her brother has already spoiled that don't make it worse by being a prick" Max says, but Charles is fuming and too far gone that the stuff coming out his mouth is there from pure anger.

"She shouldn't have even had that win today! It's not fair, she shouldn't even have that seat!" he exclaims, Max gasps and you look down.

"Charles!" he exclaims, but before you can hear anything else you are out the door running towards the McLaren motorhome. You packed up your stuff saying quick apologies to the engineers who would take anything you left behind. You didn't have a car here so you walked from the track to the hotel, a few people spotted you but thankfully didn't interrupt seeing the tears streaking down your face. They must have seen both Charles and Lando yelling at you today.

You booked a flight to London for that night, you had your bags packed and sent to the airport before you had Seb offer to drive you to the airport.

"Thank you Seb, I really appreciate it" you smile, looking down at your phone. It rung with Lando's icon popping up. You pressed decline and put your phone on do not disturb.

"It's okay. I saw the videos of Lando and Charles with you surfacing. I'm sorry" he admits, rubbing your shoulder, as you turned to look away from him so he couldn't see the tears coming down your face.

In no time you were at the airport, you'd thanked Seb who promised he'd see you in France and asked you to let him know when you were safe and home.

You sat in the airport alone, your covid mask on, but you knew people still recognized you as you went through security and waited for the plane where they would take pictures of you. Some even came up asking for pictures or signing their merch, but where it was so late there wasn't too many that it alarmed you or security.

When you landed in the UK, your dad was right there pulling you into a hug, cussing his son out saying how he should have been there to celebrate the win. You cried to him, telling him about how shit you felt after what Lando and Charles had said.

"Lets go home" he says rubbing your shoulders.

As you both walk into the house, you can overhear you mum and younger sister on the phone to someone.

"No mum, I just want to know if she's home safe" you hear your twin's voice across the phone.

"Look hunny, your dad's gone to the airport but I don't know if he's got her yet. She's upset though Lando" you hear your mum reply.

"I know, and I know its my fault, i didn't realize she got the team more points because she overtook Charles and Pierre. I didn't get to apologize because she left right after the race"

"Because you were?" his mother pushes and he groans.

"Mum"

"No Lando where were you"

"At the club"

"Yes you were at the club, celebrating while your sister was packing her bags in her hotel room crying her eyes out because she gets her first win in F1, and her brother cant even congratulate her and watch her podium with the rest of their team? She'll see you in France but for now she needs some time alone" you mother rants at him.

"Arghhh that boy Flo, can you believe him. When i next see him, i swear to god!" she exclaims and you and your dad finally make yourself known.

"Hey guys!" you try to smile, but it doesn't reach across your face like they are used to. Flo immediately runs up to you pulling you into a hug. You started to cry into her again, before Cisca, your mother and father all join in the hug.

"Come, we'll order your fave tonight as a treat okay?" your mum guides as she sits you down at the table.

F1 Drivers Christmas Eve with You - Preferences

Max Verstappen/Daniel Ricciardo/Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri/Carlos Sainz/Charles Leclerc/George Russel/Lewis Hamilton/Yuki Tsunoda x Reader

A/N: Decided to include a lot more of the drivers for this special Christmas edition! I hope you all enjoy it!

Max Verstappen

He would turn his romantic side ON.

He has the entire evening planned.

Romantic dinner at a nice restaurant, then you would go to his place to watch movies and exchange gifts.

Max is the kind to spend months prior to any event thinking about what to buy.

He wants to get a meaningful gift for you.

And let's be fair he would be happy with anything. Clothes? Yes. A new watch? Of course. Lego? Hell yeah.

He just wants to spend time with you.

Daniel Ricciardo

As soon as he saw your Christmas get-up he would be smiling. You got for the two of you matching Christmas sweatshirts.

He loved it.

This wouldn't be your first Christmas with Danny. But he would make it special each time.

This year, he planned on staying at his house, watch movies, play some games if you are up for it.

And you were.

Obviously.

It would be a Christmas Eve where your cheeks would start to hurt from all the smiling.

Lando Norris

He would invite you to dinner in one of his favourite restaurants. It had been the same you went to have your first date, so it was a special place in your heart.

He would have a simple beautiful necklace for you with the letter L as a charm on it with a simple gorgeous diamond.

He would say High School Musical inspired him since Gabriella had a T for Troy.

How cheesy, you loved it.

Oscar Piastri

It would be your first Christmas.

So, he would be nervous.

But you invited him over so, he would be EXTRA nervous.

You decorated your entire apartment and even cooked a nice simple meal.

He would praise your cooking as if you were a Michelin-star chef.

After dinner and presents, you two would watch The Grinch while cuddling on the couch with many snacks.

Carlos Sainz

Carlos would ask you to spend Christmas with his family, and who were you to say no?

If you speak Spanish, be prepared to have long conversations.

If not, fear not, his family would have no issue with talking to you, constantly yelling at Carlos to translate.

It would be a very sweet Christmas. And a rather loud one as well.

Charles Leclerc

He would try to impress you by any means.

You are not even surprised that his tree is all red... who could have guessed it?

Charles would buy so many gifts for you, that some wouldn't even fit under the tree.

Shoes, bags, jewellery and even a new phone.

He would ask for nothing in return.

But you would still give him gifts. Maybe not as expensive... okay definitely not as expensive.

He would hire a chef who would cook for you two.

After dinner, you wanted to watch Home Alone and he would shock you by saying he never saw it, so movie night it is.

George Russel

You two came to the decision that this year, you would plan your Christmas Eve. You invited him over to your place, decorated your home and got him many gifts.

Not like he didn't have everything, but you still did.

If you can and agree to cook, he would be happy to eat your meal, if not, he would have no problem with some takeout.

Who knew fast food could look fancy on a plate on a table lit by candles?

His gift to you would be something you might have mentioned at one point. He is the kind of boyfriend to remember and give you exactly what you wish for.

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis would have the entire evening planned.

Of course, it would be at a fancy restaurant. It would be one of your favourites. You two agreed on no gifts because you two buy each other everything during the year anyway. So, a nice date will be enough.

And it really would be.

Yuki Tsunoda

He would cook for you. Yuki decided to put his entire soul on a plate for you. And it is magnificent.

He is a great cook, so you can expect an amazing dinner before you exchange presents.

His present for you would be something super meaningful. Something you had your eyes on for months.

After the presents, you two would be on his couch, cuddling, laughing and having a great time.

Fernando Alonso

He would invite you over to his home, and cook some dinner for you himself.

It would be very special and romantic.

He would make you watch Spanish Christmas classics.

Overall it would be a very romantic and cozy evening.

For a gift, he would give you something he knows you would love. He knows you very well, so he would give you exactly what you want without you having to mention it.

Lance Stroll

Let's be fair he would ask for you to go to his family's house for Christmas.

As for your gift, he would buy you anything you name or don't.

To him, the more it cost, the better the item.

So, he would be shocked when your favourite would be a pair of earrings.

And you would have a great time with his family, but you did learn that his father likes to take Monopoly a little too seriously.

• Whiskey is the king of date: he never lacks ideas, plans or any other thing to take his sugar on a date, he's got a wide range of creativity and money that helps a lot, so it's just a matter of picking up the mood for the day not to overdo himself

• and he's a gentleman, let's not forget about that, so even if you insist you can drive to his ranch, chances are you aren't because he'll make sure to pick you up with his Bronco, he just wants you to take on a ride in it because he loves that car, it's pretty, comfortable, it's got status, and he's excited to be seen driving around with you in the passenger seat, just as he's excited to see you wearing your cute sunglasses as your hair flies loose at the window

• if the weather is hot enough, you can also expect him to take you swimming out at the lake, because let's face it: do you think Jack Daniels didn't grow up swimming in those waters around the ranch? He knows all the nice and pretty spots to take girls by the way, and you won't be different at all

• so chances are, you're gonna spend the morning in bed, enjoying the big breakfast and the cowboy's sugar and in the afternoon, he's definitely taking you for a picnic, with everything you're entitled to: a beautiful basket, a nice plaid towel, mini sandwiches and cake, all he wants is to spoil you

• watching the sunset together as you enjoy this romantic time is great, but as soon as the sun sets, he's gonna give you puppy eyes, asking you to stay the night once more, not ready to let you go home just yet 🥺❤️

In times of a pandemic, it's not that easy to find cosmetics, so when you put on make-up, he knows it's a special occasion or that you need it to make yourself feel better. That's why he always showers you with compliments when he sees you have makeup. He's not some kind of expert in this field, so his compliments sound a bit strange at times. "You did your eyelashes nicely… Your eyes are so, um, expressive." But you know he really loves it. And if he accidentally finds some lipstick somewhere and he gives it to you, no one needs to know ;)

Javier Peña

He definitely loves it when you have your lips (and nails) painted. Yes, red lips are his weakness. You can wear only lipstick and Javi will go crazy. He'll beg you to kiss his neck, and if you accidentally leave a mark on his white shirt… he'll be drunk with happiness👄. Javier also doesn't pay much attention to whether you have light or heavy makeup, he thinks you always look beautiful. And of course, if you use a new lipstick color, he will notice it immediately ;)

Oberyn Martell

He likes your makeup because he likes to brag about you. You are his treasure. Don't get me wrong, if you don't wear makeup, he'll also praise you and kiss you all over your body, but… Makeup is also a symbol of wealth. Poor women don't wear makeup. That's why Oberyn will make sure you have all the cosmetics and perfumes you need. If you do makeup without the help of the servants, he will immediately notice it and praise you for doing it better than them. He loves having you by his side in a beautiful dress, jewelry, and perfect makeup. He'll pull you possessively to his body and make sure all of Westeros knows he loves you.

Come on… He's obsessed with makeup, especially professional makeup. If you ask him, he will become your personal make-up artist without hesitation. And of course, be prepared for experiments: "peacock eye", lips in two colors… He will be delighted and will thank you for your trust.

Agent Whiskey (Jack Daniels) (because @creedslove wouldn't forgive me if I forget about him, again)

I don't think he likes heavy makeup and he'll tell you that. He's painfully honest. But on the other hand, if he says you've done your makeup beautifully, you can be sure he's telling the truth. And don't count on him, recognizing light makeup from no makeup at all. If you're wearing natural makeup, he'll kiss you on the cheek and say, "Sugar, you look beautiful even when you don't wear makeup."

Din Djarin

Does makeup exist in space? Sure, but it doesn't impress Din much. You know, he's seen it all. People with purple skin, with yellow, green… Besides, when he's wearing a helmet, he can't see your whole face anyway. But he will certainly be curious when he notices that you are doing makeup. He will ask questions and watch you closely. But don't ask him for advice. He will say that you are better at it anyway and you look beautiful in all colors.

And last (but not least) Pedro Pascal

Oh well. Pedro obviously knows a lot about makeup. He himself has to use it sometimes, or rather someone uses make-up on him. And he has two sisters, so makeup is no secret to him. He definitely pays attention to it. He will praise you when he notices new eyeshadows or a different color of lipstick. But he definitely doesn't support the social pressure for women to wear makeup. Want to go to a movie premiere without makeup? Here you go. He will say that you are beautiful the way you are and you have the right to be yourself.

Helloooo, i have a genuine question about Charles going to redbull (let me just quickly say that i am not in any way hating on anyone, they're all very talented, so if it seems like i'm shitting on someone, i promise i'm not, it's 2am where i am, i'm very tired and i really just wanna know, and please corrcet me if i'm wrong when stating facts)

Yes, Max and Charles have the same driving style, and have all the lore from their karting days

But what I want to know is, in what world would redbull let Charles (consistently) beat Max? Max has been/ is redbulls golden child, he's been with them since 2016, and he's been very succesful with them, and maybe what i'm saying is wrong but i'll say it anyway: i do kind of believe the team is built around Max? (let's remember how many people were the other driver at rb with Seb and after he left now with Max, like he's the constant and obviously building a team is complicated and idk what goes into it but you can steer it into a certain direction)

And if Charles were to join rb, would he be content with playing second driver to Max Verstappen (who is a 3x wc, like we get angry when Charles has to be 2nd driver to Sainz (who has won like 2 grand prix's) on the occasion (happens too often))

( with this i want to mention the mercedes situation with Rosberg, schuhmacher and Hamilton, where after Michael had left, technically Nico should have been a priority (bcs he'd been there longer), but because Lewis already was a WC, Nico had to be 2nd driver again and brocedes happened) (not that the whole situation is even comparable to brocedes imo, lestappen doesn't even compare)

I truly think redbull are using the whole lestappen thing as a marketing strategy (let's all remember what it's build on) and to create a better image around Max, since they can't really use Daniel anymore because a) he's in the AT seat and b) we saw the uproar from Checo's fans who (rightly, imo) got mad at the whole situation during COTA

Hello and happy (early) thanksgiving if you’re celebrating !!

I think everything you said is very true actually. I know Red Bull likes to say they aren’t built around Max, but they definitely are. And he’s definitely their golden boy. There’s no getting around that, as much as I think the Red Bull team genuinely likes Charles and would support him.

The reasons why I think that can work regardless:

A) Like you said, Ferrari treats him like a 2nd driver to Carlos half the time — which is just insulting, seeing how Charles should be their prioritized driver and Carlos is most certainly not the caliber of driver Max is. I don’t think he would want to be a true “number two” to Max nor do I think he deserves to be a second. However, if he’s going to get treated that way in Ferrari, I’d rather he get second driver treatment in a competent team where being less prioritized won’t damage him as much precisely because he and Max prefer the same style of car mostly.

B) I think if Red Bull were to sign Charles, they’d be doing it with the intention to try to be the team to do two number one drivers and succeed (unlike Mercedes). Liberty Media was very open and public about wanting Red Bull to have two top drivers for the entertainment value. Plus, it would be just one more thing for Red Bull to completely dominate and do that no one else can, which is very on brand for them. Obviously Max may get a bit more preference initially, but I think they’re smart enough strategically to be able to balance their support if it deserved to be balanced.

C) Mostly, however, I think Red Bull is also thinking ahead to the future. Max has been open about wanting to pursue other categories and other opportunities. Half the time he sounds like he might retire in 2028. So Red Bull needs to be prepared to 1) try to keep Max for longer and 2) have a new number one lined up for when he does leave.

I think Charles is a good candidate in their minds for many reasons, aside from the fact he’s just as talented as Max (arguably). Charles is extremely marketable and likable, without the baggage that Daniel brings (and frankly with more talent than Daniel brings). He gets along well with Max and they’ve been able to be friendly about their (f1) battles, both like to drive aggressively against eachother and therefore are more forgiving with eachother, etc. I think if you’re going to try to make Max accept an equal driver it needs to be Charles.* He’s also shown that he can play the team game and he’s historically been angelic about Ferrari in the media, despite how badly they’ve fucked him over. That’s very useful for Red Bull.

(*Lando is potentially a good candidate and Red Bull obviously has tried to get him before. But I don’t think he matches Max and Charles, which means he’d probably just be a good number two and not a true equal. Plus he and Max were always friends, and I think part of why Max and Charles could manage the more tense aspects of being competing teammates is the fact that they decidedly were not friends through karting.

Also, if the rumors that the Hamilton camp reached out to Red Bull are true? And that Red Bull said no because he and Max couldn’t work as teammates? I think that indicates that they know a second top driver would have to work on a personal level, and they think Charles can work. Helmut Marko indicated that Red Bull approached Charles, after all, which means they must have thought it could work.)

Another major thing with Charles that could make him an ideal choice is that he more openly appreciates the… “show” that Liberty Media is trying to bring to f1. Especially with his Vegas commentary, about how he understands why they are trying to bring in new fans, etc. If Max retired earlier or at the end of this contract I think a huge reason will be because he hates all of the show. So lining up a replacement for Max who won’t end up retiring for the same reason is also beneficial to them.

Which actually loops back to that I think Red Bull knows Charles challenging Max and entertaining him / bringing him fun on track again would help keep Max around. I remain convinced that Charles in a good car could keep Max in f1 longer. Red Bull could very much plan on trying to use Charles to coax Max to stay, and if that doesn’t work out then they have Charles still to continue dominating with. It’s a win-win for them.

Now, that’s not to say Red Bull aren’t just using the lestappen angle to boost Max’s likability. That’s very possible and my second top theory behind it. It may even be more realistic, all things considered. But I don’t think Charles considering Red Bull is as far-fetched as some believe, either.

Also another thing that stood out to me (because she is my favorite character) was that in the church Cynthia kept doing the like 🙏 peace be with you thing and yeah it could’ve just been her being nervous and stuff but she also does the like touch cross thing (idk what it’s called) when Jane is talking to Mr. Daniels as almost like a subconscious thing so I’m wondering if that’s possibly a thing or if I’m just grasping at straws for a Cynthia backstory

I’m really hoping if we get a season two that they flesh out Olivia Nancy and Cynthia’s backstories cuz like we know Jane’s pretty much and we get little snippets of the other three but nothing really solid

Idk kinda like the T-Birds episode except with the girls

There’s a beat of silence before, “Thanks for picking up. Tell Daniel that he’s a dick for ignoring my texts and tell Sebastian that I know why he picked the Senna car and that I’m not falling for it. He’ll know what I mean.”

Mick laughs. “Will do.”

“I’ll be talking to you.” Lewis sounds tired. Where are you, Mick wants to ask. Not with me, he knows.

“Yeah, yeah.” He starts walking back to the bar. “Bye, Lewis.” It takes a moment for his phone to click in his ear, Lewis hanging up.

He grabs the door as a pair of teenagers wander out, sneakers white and pristine, jackets boxy and colourful. They look cool — the kind of style Lewis wears sometimes — cooler than Mick ever was at that age, or now if he’s being honest. They don’t look at him, nodding their thanks, before heading off, debating pizza or noodles.

He waits a second before heading in, holding the door with an elbow as he opens up Instagram, tapping into his profile to delete the post.

Every time Thomas says that Terry's apology to Daniel was sincere it makes me a little more feral about these characters.

And I believe in the video that before he was cut off he was saying that "things started to percolate." As in - the rejection continued to permeate Terry's thoughts and actions, boil over, spread as he wallowed and stewed over it...

Just the thought of Terry going home, alone in bed that night, growing angrier and more upset as he plays back their interaction in his mind, and the hurt and rejection just continues to fester in his chest until he has to get up and hit a punching bag until he feels better. Until he feels nothing at all.

It's also canon that he drinks when he's upset... But he hadn't quite spiraled out of control at that point. Anyway

If I were a braver person I would love to ask Thomas what he thinks Terry would've wanted to happen had Daniel accepted the apology. How exactly does Terry view a friendship between them?

I find it FASCINATING

Because

No matter what, Terry canonically wants Daniel around. Everyone else is simple for him to discard; he even got rid of Kreese so he never had to see him again(not that he was happy to see him to begin with). But with Daniel he still purposefully kept him around, even if it was just so Daniel could watch him take over the world with Cobra Kai.

Which makes it canon that Daniel's rejection was Terry's motivation to really go all in on Cobra Kai, his fuel to spread the message, and to keep Daniel nearby - he wanted to prove to Daniel that he could run Cobra Kai

That he, Terry, could make it work this time. All by himself. He could be better than his father. Better than Kreese. He was going to prove to Daniel that Cobra Kai really could help kids around the world and that Daniel was wrong about him. That all fits with Terry teaching Kenny in a way that he probably wished he taught Daniel.

It's a shame that Terry lost control yet again and things of course escalated to an insane amount. Keep in mind that Terry was desperate. He's dying and running out of time.

I just love Terry and Daniel and their dynamic so much. I can only hope we get more of them next season.

And obviously my little shipper heart wishes they'd make up somehow and be friends like Terry wants. Like Daniel's other rivals. Honestly, Daniel's ability to turn these tough warriors into his Ride or Dies is something to admire. The soft way these old men look at him. 😭

And it haunts me what could have been. The fic potential. What if Daniel had said yes. Just imagine. You know Terry had it all laid out in his head, rehearsed his apology over the years...

I just need a soft happy ending ok. Even if it's just Terry saying goodbye to Daniel one last time in the garden, a bittersweet parallel to their first meeting.

im sweating no one has asked it yet. i have been sitting on an ask for a while that suddenly seems a lot more plausible and therefore worthy of asking. I also have a couple of things that caught my attention.

1785 refering to nicolas and lestat joining the theatre makes a lot of sense. I mean what else can go there? Nothing. Non of the characters (in the show) have anything important happen around that time. Plus it makes sense for lestat to rise through the ranks of the theatre over the course of years instead of several months.

!!!if nicki is there he needs to be cast which means we also meet him way before we thought we would. !! Also that might mean that the other unexpected character from the vc is Nicki!

This also means that the books are a lot more condensed than we originally thought. And if the joining of the theatre is in s2 what from tvl will they add as well and what will they leave for a comprehensive tvl 3rd season? Tho i have to say that it would make sense to put tvl partially in another season because i just cant see how you can properly adapt that book to only 8 40min episodes, there is just too much happening.

Uhhm more chaotic thoughts......

Oh yes! That ask i had been sitting on.

2. so about a week or so ago i was doing some writing and suddenly i had this thought. You know how we have been speculating that dubai is in the merric era and that lestat maybe in a coma in another room? And how we will find this out at the end, which then leads us into s3? Like they show us unconcious lestat and fade out? Yeah what if they open with it tho. What if the first episode starts on a shot of Lestat, in dubai, unconcious. Actually this makes no sense cause that would ruin louis further narrative before daniel has even gotten his hands on it. And like it would have been sort of hinted in the synposis right with "with the apperance of an unexpected factor" or something vague like that? The reason im telling you this anyway is because; how can there be flashbacks from lestat if he, or some representation of him isnt there? Did he write diaries too? We know there was a paragraph of the wolfkiller in one of the claudia diaries. I think someone had discovered that in a frame back in november or something. I dont quite remember and i couldnt find it upon rewatching, but maybe i should pay closer attention.

3. I also realised we know quite some things about lestats timeline already. I dont know if anyone has mentioned this already. So i had been rewatching episode three, the bit where lestat offers the tickets to 'donazettis comic masterpiece' the opera i dont remeber the name of. He describes having met donazetti and having seen the premier 73 years ago in Salle Ventadour. Salle Ventadour is in Paris, 1917-73= 1844 which means he was a vampire and hasnt left paris yet. Is this takingplace in lestats era before turning nicky where he is going to all these society events as gentleman death and meets armand? No obviously not, that would make nicky 60ish by the time he is turned. So its after, its probably in that time just before he decides to go seek marius. The time in which nicky, post vamp transformation grows to resent and distance himself from lestat even more. What if lestat tries to distract himself from his nicki who is getting more and more antagonistic as the years, in this case , go by, by going to operas and stuff? It would make sense for lastat to hold hope for a long time, to endure for a long time (you saw how fast time started passing in season 1 as soon as the vampirism hit) It would also make sense for lestat to take decades to find marius. So timeline!!

1760= lestat born >(lestat gets the green pendent form the marquise)> 1884ish 24 yo= nicky and lestat run away to paris (maybe the wolfkiller happens in the same year) >> 1785 25yo=nicky and lestat join the theatre >> 1794 (middle of the french revolution, girls(gn) what a time to be turned into a vampire)= lestat is kidnaped and turned into a vamprire, im not actually sure they are going to show that in too much detail as they have already talked about it. > i think gabrielle gets turned before the FRev ends and nicky between 1800 and 1810, that would make 1 century before Louis > 1844= lestat sees the premier of DON PASQUALE DONIZETTIS COMIC MASTERPIECE, i remember! Nicki is turned, but lestat is not out of paris so nicki is not dead yet.> between 1844 and 1909/10 there is a fallout with nicki, lestat leaves paris, looks for marius, nicki dies, marius is found, those who mist be kept, lestat goes to america in very old clothes that he doesnt bother to change until louis tells him to. (If not for his father why does lestat go to america here?)>>1910=lestat arrives in new orleans.

Yes!! You made sense, I just answered an ask also theorizing in regards to the changed structure (but I didn't combine them because would have been too long^^ and also:)

1785 also marks the point in time where Armand would have needed to vacate Les Innocents with his coven, since the bones were relocated to the catacombs in 1786. That must have been quite the change for him - no matter how it happens, and it changes some of the story of The Vampire Lestat already!

The "mistake" (what they called it but while that may be true I don't know if I should believe them^^) of the diary entry being part of Lestat's story is in episode 4, where Daniel thumbs through one of the diaries. It could be used to give us a part of Lestat's story, yes, but... you know, I bet we will see Lestat in a coma towards the end of the season, and I could easily see it beeing Armand who is taking Daniel there to show him - and Louis might use that moment to try to kill himself. (I would love that. Can you imagine Armand being with Lestat down there and slowly realizing what's happening, and then Lestat's eyes opening?????? PLEASE^^)

Yes, I also was thinking about that the other day, but you are totally correct, and I haven't seen much about this either. >> As you correctly point out the remark to the premier is particularly interesting. The date of said premier was January 3rd 1843. It has already been theorized that Lestat's turning was likely during the Reign of Terror, as he himself said he was turned in 1794. For him to be staying in Paris for such a long time after the turning... that is quite the change. (If we take it as him staying, rather than him returning at some point, which is also possible I suppose) the ties must have been very strong. What if... what if Nicolas actually was successful, too, and then couldn't be anymore since he became a vampire, too. And yes, Nicolas must've been turned (just) prior to 1810 (if we take the 100 years literally) and after Gabrielle, but that still makes a few years in which he would have mourned Lestat?! Which makes me also think the relationship between them will actually be portrayed as even deeper. What if there is an echo to what is happening to Louis later... what if there is more to Nicolas' depression than we thought? And also... I think for me it all depends a bit on where Armand was during that time. What if Armand went back to Rome for a bit? The Roman coven is gone after all when Lestat gets there, only some vagabonds around... What if Armand went there when Les Innocents was closed, realized that Santino had abandoned his teachings and it all crumbled there before he returned? But yes, I also think that Lestat's travels likely took place between 1844 and 1910 - and I also think that they kept Marius and TwmbK more or less unchanged (at least for now).

I personally cannot wait to see where they take these changes... there is so much already in there, so much set up. I've said it before, they not only have done their homework but they are also fearlessly rearranging, and I love it. AND they must have a bigger plan already worked out, because there’s just... too much details already. Too many little things. Choices.

So I was thinking…what if the littles had to get flu shots or Covid boosters? I feel like some of them would be good and brave but oooof I think there might be some problems with some of the others. 🤔

okay so like i had to think about this because most likely they would not go get these shots while in a drop/headspace but for the sake of the ask and the fluff all of this is socially acceptable and i’ll present it to you anyway:

George would struggle to ask Lewis to go with, dropping hints; asking questions like “did you go get the shot yet?” and “when do you have it planned?” Lewis picks up on it pretty soon, ever so cleverly aware of the needs of his boy and formulating his answer in a sense that keeps George comfortable. “i haven’t planned my yet, i’d sure like to go together. would you wanna George?” and George has to try not to jump to say yes. he’d babble Lewis’ ear off the entire time they’re in the waiting area; about how he’s gonna be so brave and how it’s not gonna hurt. repeating most of the things Lewis told him last night when he couldn’t fall asleep, hoping that saying them out loud will make him believe it. he’s too busy focussing on his foot tapping restlessly on the floor to notice Lewis has taken his hand to rub comforting circles onto the top of it, but mindlessly clutches it as they’re called in. Lewis’ll go first, allowing George to study over every step that happens and watch the entire thing, the illusion of control gives the boy a little more rest. his hand gets held through the entire thing and he doesn’t even cry. he’s showered in praise when they’re walking out and he flushes to the tips of his ears but basks in it nonetheless.

Lando’ll refuse to go. absolutely mortified of needles and doctors in general. Carlos doesn’t even tell him where they’re going the morning of. he feels a little mean tricking Lando into coming with him, but it has to happen, and all telling Lando was gonna do was send him into a fit of restlessness and panic the days leading up. so Carlos books the earliest appointment he can, Lando ever so pliant and still half asleep this early in the day, never a morning person. the little’s kinda suspicious on why Carlos hasn’t fussed about his appearance this morning; hasn’t bothered him with product for his curls and even let him stay bundled up in Daniel’s new rodeo hoodie that drowns most of him. suspicion turns into panic once Carlos tells him why they’re here, tears rushing even before anything has happened. Carlos holds him through it all, sings him the quiet Spanish lullabies Lando doesn’t understand. unlike George Lando absolutely does not want to see anything, so Carlos keeps him firmly pressed into his chest, hand to the back of his neck while he tries to console his little brunette. Lando’s sulky the rest of the day, and obviously definitely does not milk Carlos’ attention and compliance to getting him extra snacks and snuggles once he realizes the Spaniard will let him get away with just about anything and everything today.

Max’ll big himself up. tries to convince Daniel he doesn’t need to come with, he’ll be fine, he’s a big boy. Daniel refuses of course, plays it off like he wants Max to hold his hand so they need to go together. the facade cracks before they even get in the car when as they’re about to step out, Max’s quiet voice’ll ask if he can bring Leo. Daniel’ll be quick to reassure him, bringing Leo is absolutely okay and Max’ll hold his hand the entire car ride there while the other one is tightened into the lion. the gentle hold Max had on Daniel’s hand turns into a death grip as soon as they step foot into the room. there’s no immediate tears but Daniel doesn’t miss the wetness in the younger’s eyes and the way the plush Max brought is now hiding most of his face. “want Daddy to go first? i’ll show you it’s not scary.” Daniel almost misses the tiny nod Max gives him and tries to let go of his hand to go get it over with but that earns him a whine. “you wanted me to hold your hand.” Max’ll say, ever so quiet and suddenly Daniel feels like maybe he’s the one who’s gonna cry. he holds Max’s hand, or Max is holding his while he gets his shot, glancing over at Max who’s watching the whole thing from behind Leo. Daniel’ll pull Max into his lap for his shot, still holding his hand and wiping away the few tears that spilled over the boy’s cheeks before he gets all the good boy praise in the world.

Charles’ll be so dramatic please, the whole world is gonna end cause he’s gonna die Daddy and it’s gonna hurt and his arm will probably fall off. Sebastian’ll look up those interactive videos that show the logistics of a shot in colorful and playful way with fun theme song music playing under it but Charles doesn’t buy much of it. there’s a permanent pout etched into his features, thumb wedged into his mouth that Sebastian will allow for now, holding onto his hand tightly as he gets them inside, ready for when Charles tries to make a run for it. he’ll be a bit of a brat, doesn’t say hi to the nice nurse who opens the door for them, she’s rewarded with a glare before his face gets buried into Sebastian’s side. he’s crying about it hurting the second his jumper is off and Sebastian has to remind him nothing’s happened yet. nevertheless he cries through the whole thing, waterworks turned to the max until the nurse comes up with a box of bandaids to pick out and the sparkly ones catch his attention. he picks the most obnoxiously neon one and refuses to put his jumper back on so he can show every single person they walk past his pretty bandaid/battle wound. he falls asleep in the car on the way home and naps most of the day away.

Mick’ll be such a good boy. but very honest ‘bout the “it might hurt a bit huh Daddy? that’s a bit scary.” Sebastian’ll have purposely split the two up, wanting full attention for both of his boys and booking his along side Mick’s, figuring he was gonna be the easier of the two. Mick packs himself some survival items, he’s armed with mini Angie and his favorite hoodie and the paper airplane uncle Alex made for him that one time they were waiting for the rain to clear up, apparently uncle Alex said it was good luck. and Mick wanted some good luck today. unlike Charles, Mick’s nerves turn him into a bit of a chatterbox, waving and saying hi to all the nurses walking past in between chewing on one of Angie’s ears. inside the office Mick’s asking all the questions and getting shown the inside of every cabinet before eventually Sebastian hoist him onto the table when ten minutes have passed and no one has gotten a shot. Mick goes first and gives only a little peep as Sebastian distracts him, is rewarded with a kiss to his bandaid after. mini Angie gets a pretend shot as well and a pink bandaid to finish the illusion and Mick’s busy fussing over the little dog while Sebastian gets his. Mick does not forget to offer the “kiss Daddy?” once Sebastian’s bandaid is on and finishes it of with a “all better.” he gets to ring his Mimi in the car back home to tell him all about what a good boy he was and is promised all the ice cream in the world.

I've talked a lot about Johnny this season and I'll be talking about it more bc God knows there is so much that needs to be said and apparently some of it needs to be said repeatedly but I also want to talk about Shannon a bit.

Shannon has by no means been a good parent to Robby right from the start but when she went to rehab, I did hope that we would see better behavior from her. I find it interesting that she has appeared at least once in every season yet she really doesn't seem all that interested in Robby. Sure, she went to rehab and that is so great for her. But she had no problem letting Daniel search for Robby. I know she says that her life coach advised her against it but I find that rather unlikely. A life coach's job is to motivate and help you make your own decisions. It is most certainly not to tell a mother not to go looking for her missing son. I can see how leaving rehab may have been a bad idea for Shannon if she didn't feel she could handle it but if she's already got a life coach, there was really no reason why she could have kept that coach on speed dial while looking for Robby and then gone back when he was found and she knew he'd be safe. Honestly, it feels like a cop out to me and it does fit with what we've seen of Shannon from the start. She simply handed Robby to Daniel when Robby went to her. Robby went to her bc he felt safe going to her and I understand why she called Daniel. It's not as though there was much she could've done for him at that point but she just called Daniel and stood by the side as he talked to Robby. She could have still sat beside him and held Robby's hand as Daniel talked. She could have comforted him. But she just stood by the side and watched. And then she watched as the cops took Robby away. Sure she reached out to touch him then and tell him it would be OK but by then it was too late. You can actually see Robby flinching away from her. I've talked about this part before but it bears repeating especially in light of s5. I know she sent him emails while he was in juvie but emails are easy. The LaRussos all sent Robby emails and Daniel even called him. All of these things are very low effort and we saw what happened after with them anyway. So yeah, emails are easy and don't really mean anything when the situation Robby got back to is the same.

She also went to Johnny in the prom episode to tell him about Silver but she straight up says that even though Silver gave her the creeps, she didn't ask him any questions. She's says she tried to talk to Robby but how long would she have even tried given that Silver dropped the car off right before Robby left for prom? An hour at most? Hardly enough time to determine that Silver had his hooks into Robby. She realized something was off about Silver, enough so that she went to Johnny but she still had no problem letting Robby leave for prom. You know that if it had been Amanda or Carmen, Sam, Anthony or Miguel would never have even left the house yet Shannon had no problem just letting Robby go.

In s5, Shannon seems to be doing quite well for herself yet she spares very little thought about Robby. When Johnny talks to her about having Robby stay with him for the summer, they talk about Robby without even acknowledging his feelings. Shannon simply says yes rather than saying she'll ask Robby about it. Then, she tells Johnny that they were both young and dumb and she's glad that Robby gets to see this side of him now. First off, Johnny was in his mid-thirties when Robby was born so dumb sure but hardly young enough to warrant his behavior. Shannon would have also been an adult at least but she didn't have the option to just run away the way Johnny did. She had to go through 17 hours of labor alone and then raise a child alone. Now, Shannon was obviously a terrible mother and neglected Robby to the point of abuse but it's clear that Robby still had some good times with her and apparently still does. It doesn't forgive her behavior but at least to Robby it means something. Johnny couldn't even do that much and still doesn't. That said, Shannon had no problem having Robby stay with Johnny even after she saw the state his place was in and how he didn't even have a proper phone let alone a proper job.

As a side note, I do find it strange that people just assume that Shannon's parents are still living based off of what she said about her and Robby going to their place. There's no indication in her statement that they're even alive. To me, it sounded simply like it was a place they had owned and she had access to. I find it unlikely that her parents would still be alive bc knowing Shannon, she would have simply dumped Robby with them early on. Plus we never hear Robby make any mention of them which he likely would have. Sure, he has a hard time asking for help but he's got a strong survival instinct and would have at least though about his grandparents if he'd even thought they were an option.

Anyway, it's pretty clear that while Shannon is doing quite well for herself, Robby remains an afterthought to her. From the start, she has been happy to hand Robby off to whoever will take him and that clearly hasn't changed since she got out of rehab. It seems pretty clear that Shannon has gotten to a point where she is ready to just hand Robby off for good and get on with her own life without him. This actually also explains Robby's behavior in s5 bc it must have broken his heart to have his mother, the one person who was a consistent factor in his life and who he always looked out for even though she should have been looking out for him, just hand him off to someone else. It further explains why he'd want to fit in with Johnny so much now. After all, he could've just packed his bags and left when Johnny kept pushing him to make amends with Miguel but if he hadn't had the option of going back to Shannon's, it would make sense why he would try so hard to fit into Johnny's life. Now, I dount Shannon would just tell Robby that she didn't want him or throw him out but Robby's a smart kid and he knows how to read people. He would've picked up on the fact that Shannon didn't want him around just like he picked up on how the only way for him to be accepted into Johnny's life is to get along with Miguel. So basically, both of Robby's parents have trapped Robby into a place where he's forced to ignore his own feelings and behave like a doormat for those around him in order to be accepted. It makes perfect sense why Robby behaved the way he did bc in his mind, if both his parents have made it clear he's not wanted anymore, his only option is to bow down and take whatever mistreatment he gets so that he can at least have a place in their lives. I've said before that Johnny may well "love" Robby in the way that a parent naturally loves their child but he clearly doesn't seem to love him as a person. I believe the same to be true of Shannon. She loves him and clearly provided him with the only affection he'd have got as a child. She clearly does spend some time with him doing fun things like watching movies and YouTube videos. However, she clearly has no interest in being a good mother to him

SPOILERS FOR CAMP CRETACEOUS SEASON 5!!

OMGOMGOMG I JUST FINISHED IT AND. HOLY CRAP.

Obviously I was going into this season hoping it would at least be better than S4 and PRAYING that it would be better than Dominion and boy was I not disappointed.

While I don’t hate S4, this season was miles better and I was so happy with how it ended. It left me with such a satisfied feeling, one which Dominion did not leave me with. Like- ok I just need to break it down..

- first of all, how the campers were portrayed this season was so great and really stayed true to their dynamic since the beginning

- going back to Nublar? Completely unexpected but very welcomed. Also, the fact that there were earthquakes? Alluding to the volcano becoming active potentially?

- DAVE, ROXIE AND BRAND. YES I LOVE THE TRIO. And them linking up with Mae was great too!

- loved to hate Daniel Kon. Someone else mentioned this already, but he’s literally the best villain of the entire franchise and it really shows.

- glad Kenji realized naturally that he made mistakes and that it wasn’t forced in any way.

- YASAMMY. YES. FINALLY. GLAD THESE TWO GOT THEIR HAPPY ENDING TOGETHER. Also loved the exploration of Yas and Ben’s relationship.

- bringing back Darius and Brooklynn’s friendship this season. I’m glad they ended as great friends though I can see the DinoStar potential.

- KENJI BEING BY HIMSELF AT THE END BUT THEN BEING WELCOMED BY DARIUS’ MOM. THEY BECOME BROTHERS?? UM YES.

- loved all the major and minor tie-ins to Dominion, as much as I was disappointed in that movie. I said it in my post about Dominion, but it made me super excited for S5, and I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed.

- the watering hole?? Kind of a re-hash but I loved it nonetheless.

- though the designs at the end were questionable, I loved the “epilogue” and it shows how they’ve grown.

- DARIUS’ SPEECH AT THE END. I FEEL LIKE IT COULD BE INSTRUMENTAL IN HOW DINOSAURS AND HUMANS LEARN TO CO-EXIST BUT I KNOW IT WILL NEVER BE CONFIRMED.

- Ben and Bumpy reunion. *cry* but also *yay!* (also not gonna lie, gave me HTTYD2 flashbacks that were not much appreciated but oh well)

There’s probably so much more I’m missing but I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything (plus I’m also reeling from news and clips for The Dragon Prince S4 so that doesn’t help, lol).

Anyway, this season has just made me want more of this show and it’s characters (like what did they get up to between FK and Dominion/during the events of Dominion?). I’m actually making notes and trying to come up with something because I’m seriously considering doing a rewrite of Dominion and adding the Nublar Six.

But alas, the show is over. And to that I say, that’s what fanfiction is for!

Late Night/Early Morning. Thoughts on McLaren and Daniel Ricciardo.

Basically me trying to outlogic all the online haters and their arguments, or at least get them to empathize. Long time lurker, but recent events are causing this verbal vomit essay. Please forgive any newb to Tumblr mistakes.

Of course - this is sport and nobody should get abuse, but we also should be able to call it how we see it. Also, trying to find nuance, empathy and sympathy is what the world really needs.

Daniel Ricciardo deserves better. He is clearly a respected member of the F1 community and some people are forgetting the ten years he's been a part of the sport. While he had some bad races these past two years, he’s also had good ones and he still deserves a place in F1.

To everyone who says "Daniel wasn't performing, he deserves it..." McLaren absolutely had and has the choice to make a change, if they felt he wasn't performing, but it wasn't for lack of trying and they didn't need to eviscerate Daniel to do so. That's what people are upset about. The lack of integrity Zak Brown has when it came to dealing with this was just astonishing. Dangling an F1 seat that wasn't technically available to so many people. Imagine having a job/contract, and your boss is interviewing people all around the building you work at...for your job! This was clearly happening for months - how can anyone expect someone to perform well? So while DR hasn't been performing with a car that's difficult, add this and is it really a surprise he's been inconsistent? Just imagine what he's had to go through this year. Add world stage, and the pressure becomes something impossible to ignore.

Also - what's the point of a contract? In my opinion, Zak Brown wanted Daniel to quit so they wouldn't have to pay out his contract. Obviously that didn't happen, guessing due to Oscar/Alpine blow up. How McLaren could negotiate such a terrible contract for themselves? One will never know. Thank goodness Daniel gets paid out - they broke the contract. They're also effectively and potentially leaving him without a drive in F1 for 2023 - so yes, they should be paying him out. That's the point of a contract.

Ultimately, they could have worked with Daniel to ensure a more honorable and peaceful exit. Who knows maybe if Daniel knew this was going on / they wanted the change - and didn't overtly commit to McLaren - Aston Martin could have been another option. Sigh, what could have been. (Ps. Scotty James/Chloe Stroll/Lance Stroll get papa Stroll to move away from Fernando and sign DR. Based on public personas, sure Lance would rather work with DR anyway. And since contracts don't seem to hold up, why can't this be a reality? Kidding, kind of. Ha)

Ultimately, nobody denies it's a bad fit between Daniel and McLaren and a change should happen - they didn't need to tear the man down to do it. Hate the circumstances, but ultimately happy Daniel is getting out.

Also, do people really think Oscar Piastri is innocent in this? Or maybe Mark Webber poorly managed this situation. He and Mark Webber went after a seat that wasn't technically available (no matter how McLaren positioned it), one a fellow countryman technically held. It's a sad start to Oscar's F1 career because it's leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

And fuck yes to Seb Vettel for not only supporting Daniel, but pointing out what no one else will. They have failed him - not only in never extracting his potential (aka getting the car closer to Daniel and his strengths), but more monstrously, they failed him as a human. For everyone saying it's a business (even Daniel has admitted that), and it is, but some empathy and kindess could have gone along way.

Now, McLaren is like divorced couple who have to live in the same house for nine more races.

And through it all, Daniel remains resilient. Class act. He's basically killing them with kindness. I hope he finds what he's looking for next year and beyond. He deserves better.

And jumble of thoughts over. Anyone share these thoughts? A little nervous to post. Happy to have discourse and disagreement, but please be respectful♥️

Part 2 of the trailer breakdown

I talked about some overall Stuff in the trailer + went briefly over some of our ladies, so I’ll talk about some more Stuff + the lads now

Last post I went through how I’m into the structure of the show/story (s1-3 and s4-6/7 are like a part 1 and a part 2, meaning I have made some light predictions based on that structure but let us See + s4 cannot really be gauged absent of s5)

Here I might want to say a bit about the Feel of the story. And I don’t think everyone’s going to agree with this, because not everyone has a lot of faith in the story that’s being told, which, fair enough, but I am having a really positive reaction

1. are there things that the show has done which has made me go... no -- yes there are

2. have I overall enjoyed the storytelling thus far -- yes, again, I think it’s going really well, I think its story beats are being met, I think -- for the most part (Carmen you will never be all I envision for you) -- that characters are being done good service, I think it’s (as many people have described) a live-action sports anime soap opera fanfiction, with stuff that makes me go “oh I can read the heck into that and I will!” which is exactly what I want it to continue to be

and I think the tone of season 5 is looking really really cool and consistent with the rest of the show, which has been a heightened reality since season 1. The main differences lie in the amount of characters and universe building, which can make a structure like that very unwieldy. I have no doubt that some of that is going to be handled better, and some of it worse, but there’s no real point in speculation on that front

(also a note, in my last listing of characters I forgot that Tory’s brother and mother aren’t present, nor is her aunt, and neither is Stingray.... I think now that’s everyone relevant??)

to get into some dudes though

1. Terry and Kreese -- I mean, I’m not reading this any differently than I was in s4, everything Terry does in some way relates back to Kreese (and to Daniel, but he only met him because of Kreese, so it’s still related). Opening up Cobra Kai and swallowing the Valley? Part fuck-you to Daniel, part destruction of Miyagi-dos memory, and very large part “this is what we were meant to do JOHN, but seeing as you’re distracted I’ll get it done without you + now you’re in prison and can’t run off again!”

On top of that I expect we’ll get more backstory on how he and Kreese trained, linking in Kim Da-Eun (sorry was writing her name sans dash to begin with) to the wider narrative + homoerotic karate sparring... does Terry care about any of these kids? Eh I don’t think so. I think he knows Tory was a favourite of Kreese’s, so whether he wants to break her or shape her, that’s all in service to him

whether he wants to hurt/kill Johnny this season (I don’t think there’ll be a massive scene around that, but I could be wrong... feels like something to save until s6 or even 7, but they’ll likely hint at it/build towards it) is obviously because he’s hurt at Kreese “choosing” Johnny over him.

Meanwhile I am waiting to see what Kreese in prison is like. I think he’s going to figure out for himself that he wasn’t ever “The Good Guy” and that he really fucked up with Johnny and may be looking for some kind of redemption in his way + he’s in therapy which should be fun. I also keep saying I think Kreese is the only person on earth who belongs in prison, only because it would be a calming structure for him + always a bed + fights. Is he healthy? No obviously not. Is he thriving? In his own way, sure.

Anyway they’re just as toxic and unwholesome as always, I hope Terry visits him at some point I want to see the deep betrayal and anger and love and hatred

2. Daniel -- I don’t want to write too much about Daniel because there is so much to say! The exhaustion? the black eye? the bloody knuckles? the despair?? the slight hope and fear and need when standing with Chozen and Johnny???? it’s everything I wanted, there’s so much going on, I couldn’t possibly cover it!

3. Chozen is giving me all the vibes I want: Gay, Disciplined, Rowdy, Pragmatic, similar to Daniel I don’t want to say too much, because it would be too much to cover, but suffice to say that I am so pleased that he and Johnny seem to be coming together around Daniel, I’m interested in whether there will be some thinking around his relationship with Miyagi-do karate + Miyagi’s ideals of pacifism -- because Miyagi’s ideals came from his life, and while Chozen’s isn’t the same, I could see him coming to similar conclusions.

I also would love to see him clashing with Kim Da-Eun, we have the scene of him clashing with her henchmen + him going in and causing a ruckus with Johnny, which all feels like he’ll be the one to fight her/the first time we’ll really see her fight

Anyway, like I said, stop writing or I will write forever.

4. I hazard the Mexico trip will be maximum two episodes, and the question is whether we see Johnny as an uber driver before that, or if he and Robby head straight there. I Hazard he and Robby are going to be on the ropes still and he’ll be worrying about Miguel and so he’ll suggest a father-son bonding trip based on those two facts, because smart (not smart). Also... Shootfighter references, we will see....

Beyond that we’re finally really getting the reverence! that was promised! the way he looks at Daniel in that callback-to-s3 shot??? Fuck! And I’ve said a lot about him being harnessed to find ways of dealing with what’s happening with Daniel, he’s going to be following Chozen’s lead I hope! I’m excited to see him willingly going with Daniel’s needs, rather than fighting them (I also wonder if the bruise is a callback for him....)

5. Hawk and Demetri seem to be somewhat absent from the original promo stuff. I think Hawk will imprint on Chozen (green hair and outfits) + he’ll be squaring off against Kenny, which will lead to Robby pushing him into a pool. Beyond that am unsure. We left both him and Demetri feeling... fine? End s4 wasn’t such a bad place for them, so maybe they’ll fall back into more secondary roles this season? there are a lot of characters, if anyone gets less screentime I think it’ll be them.

6. Kenny and Shawn + Anthony I put altogether, because we’re at what I think is kind of weaker -- potentially! Kenny is most interesting in connection with Robby in my opinion, and Robby’s relationship with Shawn (who may not be appearing this season, but I’m putting him here anyway, because he relates so heavily to Kenny’s motivations). Anthony hasn’t really had much growth -- sure he apologised to Kenny + got threatened by him, but I’d be far more interested in how he connects with his family, with Sam in particular (who is, after all, the golden child of the family). Neither Kenny nor Anthony are featured really in the trailer, we know Kenny is still with Cobra Kai (of course) and that Anthony is with Miyagi-do

7. Robby and Miguel are in such potentially interesting places, now their narratives have gotten rid of the noise and centered on one another properly. Robby kicked him over a railing!! Let’s talk about that! And about how they can share one disappointing dad, seriously, Johnny has disappointment enough for them both (and maybe even the ability to be... better). As someone said, kind of ship them suddenly -- this isn’t because I technically do ship them, it’s indicative more of their dynamic getting more and more interesting!

+ Robby’s feelings around being an older brother/caretaker for Kenny and how that reflects on his relationship with Shawn is fascinating -- I think we’ll get more of the former and less of the latter, but it’s all there, vibing. It seems like he and Tory will still be friends in s5, despite him rejoining Miyagi-do/leaving Tory to fend for herself at Cobra Kai. I wonder if he’ll express worry about how she and Kenny are going to be treated over there...

and Miguel will be back with Miyagi-do as well, so we know his ambivalent feelings about karate won’t last forever. I think he’ll be doing some kind of shootfighting in Mexico (I’m calling it shootfighting for now... illegal fighting anyway). I’m technically less interested in his dad, because I think he has a perfectly great mother right there (except for when the show fucks up about letting her have agency in how she raises her son), but it may work well, I simply have few thoughts about that until it happens. He’s also shown next to Sam, so I presume they’re still dating (sigh), but maybe... they could be friends???

Regardless it seems like the fighting between him and Robby has stopped the faux-dress of having anything to do with the love square. We’re over it, they’re over it (please).

8. Miyagi-do boys aren’t very present. This makes sense, I don’t think Miyagi-do will be whole again until at least a few episodes in (I predict maybe halfway through), so they can’t show them in that space. We see them at the pool + a couple of shots at the dojo, so we know the training will recommence at some point

9. Stingray, Tory’s brother (and mother + aunt), Kyler, Kim Da-Eun’s henchmen, Louis and Anoush -- the various background and secondary characters. Of These Kyler is the only one super present in the trailers (makes sense, a lot of it is Cobra Kai) and he’s still an asshole I think is the takeaway. Dare I say it... I do notice that apart from the known Cobra Kais -- Tory, Kenny, Kyler, (now) Devon, possibly Piper, there are I believe no consistent background Cobra Kai students in the way that Miyagi-do has some recurring faces? I may be wrong about that, but I think in this case the facelessness of Cobra Kai might make sense -- Terry isn’t building a safe place, or even a space for intimacy/family (even if that family is fucked up a la TKK Cobra Kai). He’s building a faceless monstrous business, devoid of heart... that’s a very Terry move. He’s a void. Even if he’s doing this for Kreese, he’s doing it in all the ways Kreese would hate, not, I think, out of malice, but because that’s what Terry does: he devours the things people love (and the people he loves)

10. Mike Barnes was someone I expected to see in the second trailer and was surprised not to. I guess they’re really keeping all theorising under wraps. The single picture is him looking angery, but maybe that’s a red herring. Anyway, I want him to be a mean bastard, I’d appreciate it

A thing I notice, vs making the post about the women, is that most of the men and boys listed have some kind of internal motivations/drive the narrative in some way. I’ve made a crude list of numbers of men/boys vs women/girls on the show, leaving out anyone who’s not important to the narrative (so including people like Tory’s younger brother for example) and I’ll make a little breakdown of that, but for now, some initial thoughts to build on at a later point

Spa goes on and on and I can't keep up this week 😅

So, this week has been interesting, since between work and plans coming along the way, I haven't been able to watch anything on time in the end 😂

I'm gonna be posting this after I watch the race and everything else, because yesterday I was only able to watch FP2, and today I'll be watching FP3, Quali and the race after work. I'll be starting with what I wrote yesterday about FP2, which wasn't really much, and I'll continue with what I'll be writing through today about the rest.

So I'm currently watching FP2 and the one thing that caught my eye was the near miss from Lewis in Eau Rouge, because I almost lost it. Jesus Christ, thankfully our baby boy (I know he's 37. Just... Okay?) knows exactly what he's doing and with a little luck could save it on time. Otherwise, my washing machine was way more interesting so far. If I'd tried to watch this last night it would've put me to sleep, then I did good going to sleep before even trying 😂

I'm going out later and I know for a fact I'll be back too late to keep writing or watching anything at all, so see ya tomorrow.

It's not like a lot more happened in FP3 whatsoever. Pretty boring, pretty standard. I'm actually looking for flights in the mean time ngl.

Verstappen saying there were no yellow flags to slow down for and still getting called out for not slowing down. The "funny" remark from his engineer was way too obvious. Where the fuck do these people leave their neurons?

Now Sharl going up against the wall through the gravel causing a Red Flag... My heart can't take this anymore 🥲 thank goodness he could take it outta there... but that's about it. Absolutely nothing going on.

Now onto Quali, it still amazes me how the commentators keep diminishing Mercedes and both Lewis and George. Yes, they might be struggling, not doing as good as expected and everything, but they're still Mercedes and they're definitely still Lewis and George.

Not much going on really, Seb missed Q2, a shame, I wish he had the chance to go through every single time and make some points during races before retiring, he deserves at least a nice going away ending.

Nothing going on either during Q2, Mick and Daniel dropped as well, and I still don't get how's it possible that Albon went through to Q3, meh.

Onto Q3 now before going to work and not so exciting for now, honestly I hope the race gives us something, because otherwise this will be the most boring comeback. And I counted on Spa giving us a little something something, you know?

There's just been a moment where Carlos got in the middle of the tow Ocon was trying to give Alonso? With Lewis right behind them too? And now Charles giving Carlos a tow and as usual Carlos not doing his teammate's work justice losing the chance. And he obviously got pole anyway due to all the penalties.

So now after all the penalties are applied, Charles starts from P16, Inbred Frog from P15, Norris from P18, Estie Bestie from P17, Mick from P20... and that benefits my Merc boys who are now starting Lewis from P4 and George from P5, Daniel from P7 and Seb from P10. It's gonna be an interesting one at least at the very start. Let's see what it brings us, which I'll see way later and I'll know before I even start the streaming.

It's time for the race and I have no words. I truly don't. The start was amazing in general, but whoa. I'm actually not paying attention anymore and it's been just 7 laps.

Look, I might take that Lewis made a mistake closing that gap with Alonso when he was on the outside, but nothing else. His left rear tyre passed over Alonso's front right tyre and over the side, not over him like Verstappen's did at Monza last year, let's not mistake shit. Plus, he admitted he did it wrong and apologized and blamed himself enough times to break any fans heart. How many drivers do that? Alonso doesn't so many people need to just fuck off already.

The one good thing I've seen at the restart besides how sexy the Safety Car really is, is George not letting Alonso pass him. My dear boy.

Apart from this bittersweet moment, I haven't really paid attention to any of it. The summary would be: RedBull have an illegal car and that's why they're that, as Marina says 😂, Ferrari making clown decisions as they usually do and Estie Bestie's amazeballs overtake on Pierre and Seb at the same time, which was fantastic.

I'm really not looking forward to next weekend in Zandvoort, bet my ass you all know why. First because it's a boring ass circuit and second because it's the house of a certain douche. Plus, not gonna be able to watch anything until the following day each day since I'm working until midnight every single day that weekend. Lucky me 🤪

Anyway, it's time for bed and forget about this day now. Peace out!
