Hitmen Have Feelings Too
Hii this is my contribution to JoMarina Week 2024! I'm posting this now because it's actually January 6 here in my country xD
Just a disclaimer, I have never been to a bar nor to India, so what happens in this one-shot may or may not be accurate
I apologize for any mistakes in the chapter. I hope you enjoy! (I actually enjoyed writing this lmao)
JoMarina Week 2024 Day 6 - Bonds
Summary: When Carmen takes some of the Bureau members out for a much-needed break after the disasters in India, Marina and Jonah drunkenly bond with each other, making Marina realize that Jonah wasn’t as bad as she thought he’d be.
Also cross-posted on Ao3: Hitmen Have Feelings Too - celestiamirasol - Criminal Case (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]
Marina knows how beautiful she is. Her coworkers tell her that everyday, and men would immediately tell her how smitten they are with her even when they just met.
However whenever she looks at the huge scar on her neck caused by the assassination attempt she survived years ago, she would constantly think otherwise.
It’s the only thing that catches her attention whenever she would look at herself in the mirror. No kind of concealer could even cover it up. Screw it. Once she finishes up her makeup, she grabs one of her scarves on her dresser and wraps it around her neck, adjusting every fold to make sure no inch of the scar could be seen.
“Marina!” Carmen knocks on her door. “You ready to go?”
“Just a second!”
After solving a murder in Bollywood, India, Carmen and Athena invited the Bureau for some drinks for them to finally relax after the previous events that transpired recently, but only her, Angela, and Jonah decided to come along with them. Jack wanted to hang out with Lars (even though Lars was busy with his book, The Flashing Light), Ingrid declined due to work, Ripley just simply didn’t want to and Dupont was trying to learn how to play cricket. Elliot wanted to come along, but Carmen didn’t allow him to since he was underage.
When they arrived at a bar in Mumbai (whose people were able to quickly pick themselves up due to the recent flooding), the place was decently packed with people, with performers playing Bollywood music, making its nightlife alive even though the sun was only about to set.
Occasions like this are rare for the Bureau due to the demands of their job, so Marina rarely gets to drink. She doesn’t like drinking on the job, for it makes her even more stressed. But once she gets the chance to, she immediately seizes it.
“We deserve this, guys.” Athena says as she comes back with Carmen, both setting down various bottles of alcohol on the table. “When I was still a cop in Pacific Bay, we would usually go out and bond with drinks after a major case.”
“I guess we just don’t do it after what happened with the chief back then in Spain…” Carmen sighed, pouring a drink. She then slides it over to Angela. “So Angela, what’s the deal with Lars and that book? Has he finally found that spiritual enlightenment?”
Angela accepts the shot glass. The golden wedding ring shimmering in her finger caught Marina’s attention. “I don’t know, I still haven’t been able to talk any sense into him. Ever since he started reading that book, he’s been raving about the flashing light. At first, I just thought that he meant the bulb in his lab was broken. But then I realized it was the name of the guru’s book!” She quickly downs the shot. “It’s like he’s been indoctrinated!”
Being the psychologist of the team, Marina would usually help and offer advice to her teammates as a friend. However, she couldn’t think of any sensible advice to give somehow. There’s a reason why she chose to specialize in criminal psychology instead of marriage counseling, after all. All she could say was, “Maybe it’s his way of coping after his near death experience?”
“Oh. definitely.”
As the coroner continued to rant about her husband (with the agents trying to butt in with some advice along the way), she noticed how Jonah, the only guy in the group, was only simply intently listening. Or he was probably trying to. His ice cold eyes stared off at the distance, swirling the liquor in his glass before downing it, then would occasionally pour himself another one. He probably doesn’t understand the topic at hand. Why would he? Marina thought. Based on her psychoanalysis back then, hitmen like him aren’t capable of basic human empathy. Would he even be able to understand the concept of love? To her, they’re all psychopaths.
“Well, maybe we can leave early and you and Lars could have a date night together. We have the night off, after all.” Carmen suggested, smiling at her.
To Marina’s surprise, Jonah suddenly spoke up after being silent the whole time. “Yeah… maybe this time, you can properly communicate your feelings with him. It’s best for you two to open up to each other as a married couple, after all.”
“Well, I understand that the recent occurrences were traumatic to both of us… but I’ve tried my best to communicate with him. He’s been only focusing on that book he’s been reading. He wouldn’t even look at me.” Angela downed another shot. “I just want him to at least talk to me, tell me how he’s feeling…”
“We were all so busy with the recent disasters here in India, he probably hasn't fully understood what he’s feeling, so like what Marina said, turning to the guru is his way of trying to process things. At least try to understand that, and Lars should understand that you’re trying to reach out to him. Understanding’s the key to forgiveness, after all.`` Somehow, Marina could feel that Jonah’s gaze has shifted to her for a different reason. And whatever reason it may be, she didn’t like it.
“Wow Jonah, are you drunk already?” Athena laughed. “I didn’t know you could get so philosophical like that.”
“He has a side like that.” Carmen smirked, taking a sip of her drink.
She didn’t know that Jonah’s presence could annoy her even more. Why the hell did this blockhead decide to even come with us? She downed her drink and grimaced at how the liquor permeated in her throat.
After a few shots with the group, Marina decides that she had enough of Jonah’s existence and separates from them, heading straight to the bar. She called the bartender over, unconsciously twirling her hair. “Could you give me… a drink that could best describe how you think of me?”
During the rare occasions that they get to visit bars, this was Marina’s favorite game to play. She was enthralled by the raw, authentic atmosphere in bars, especially on how people wear their heart on their sleeves after getting drunk, in which they begin to show their real selves. She believes that everyone hides in a facade. And she was interested to know what bartenders would think of her so-called facade.
With a blush on his face, the bartender agreed and got to work, with Marina watching. After mixing and shaking the contents, he then poured a colorful liquid onto a shot glass, then he grabbed a lighter and set the alcohol aflame. “Sweet and feisty, just like you. And with a hint of vodka, too.”
Amused, Marina took a spoon to diffuse the flame. “Is it that obvious?”
“Your Russian accent? Definitely. It makes you hotter, may I add.”
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Oldest trick in the book. Once the flame was smothered, she downed the drink. She could taste the heat in her mouth, but there was definitely a hint of sweetness to it.
“How is it?” “Do we have a problem, buddy?” Like a menacing guard dog, Jonah approached the bar and glared at the bartender, holding a bottle of whiskey. Intimidated by his rugged look, the bartender immediately scurried over to the next customer.
Great. The psychologist frowned as the weapons expert sat next to her. She looked away from him, refusing any contact with him as possible.
But he insisted. “Hey.”
“Otyebis.” She muttered in Russian.
“So uh… why did you leave us?” His intimidating aura somehow dissipated, like this time he’s the one intimidated by Marina.
“Because I hate your face.” Jonah frowned and set down the bottle of whiskey on the bar counter.  “Well, you never accepted the amulet I tried to give you…”
“That’s because an amulet won’t fix anything.”
“Well… could a drink at least fix something?” He grabbed Marina’s shot glass and filled it with liquor.
“Most definitely not.” She rolled her eyes. “You could’ve poisoned that.”
“Why would I even do that?” “You tried to do it once, maybe you’re here in the Bureau because you’re still out to get me!”
He chuckled in response. “You have quite the creative imagination, sweetheart. I shoot my targets, I don’t poison them. And I told you, I never miss a shot.”
“I remember that. And I also remember you telling me you purposely missed because you thought I was beautiful. What, were your previous targets hideous?”
“I-it’s not that, I swear!” Jonah blushed. “Normally, my targets are ordered to be killed because they’re threats. A danger to society. Take Omar Bahir for example, if I hadn’t killed him, Carmen and Athena would’ve been the ones dead. But you Marina… from the moment I saw you, I had a feeling you didn’t deserve to die. And I was right. You shouldn’t be the one to pay for exposing their crimes.” Unconsciously, Marina picked up the glass of whiskey and took a swig, the memory of her assassination attempt still fresh in her mind. How the bullet flew in the air in less than a second, giving her no time to dodge, and the color of the wintry blue sky in Russia as she laid helpless and bleeding on the Russian snow, too weak to call out for help.
As a psychologist and a criminal profiler, she would know whether a suspect was lying or not, the inner machinations of her mind, and a higher level of understanding and empathy. The Bureau only hires the best, and she is deemed the best in their eyes. But Jonah… she couldn’t see through him. Or maybe it’s because she refuses to.
Are hitmen really capable of having human empathy?
The funky and exotic Bollywood music overpowered the silence of the two as they took turns pouring and drinking their glasses of whiskey. Both of them didn’t know what to say, nor what to do.
Feeling awkward, Jonah scratched his neck. “I know sorry won’t fix what’s done… but I truly am sorry, Marina. I don’t know how to make it up to you.”
Then as if the alcohol began to take complete control of her body, Marina grabbed Jonah’s shot glass and she almost overflowed it with whiskey as she poured it. “You can start by taking a shot for me.”
“What?”
Her lips formed a playful smirk. “Hit or miss.” Jonah shook his head and downed it, some of the liquid spilling on his shirt. “Is that… all you want me to do?” His words were slurring.
“Ha!” The psychologist laughed loudly. “You’re already drunk!” “So are you.” He chuckled lightly to himself.
Suddenly, the alcohol made Marina forget her previous animosity towards Jonah. She didn’t know how long they stayed chatting drunkenly in the bar, but she was surprised at how similar they actually were.
“You actually took Psychology too?!” She was shocked, but her drooping eyes prevented her from expressing it.
Jonah nodded. “I actually planned to go to med school, but then I got enlisted in the army and then my focus just shifted. It actually comes in handy during hostage situations, I was glad I was at least able to finish it.”
Another conversation then opened up once Marina offered to check out the amulet that Jonah wanted to give her so badly. “So this thing symbolizes forgiveness?”
“Uh yeah, just like what that Dupont said.” She smiled. “I’m actually quite interested in cultural trinkets like these. It’s one of the things that I look forward to whenever we go to different places for missions.” “So… does that mean you forgive me?”
The amulet glimmered in her hands as Marina contemplated his question. “...Not until we dance first.” “Wha - hey!” Jonah had little time to process what the psychologist said as she pulled him to the dance floor of the club. She then broke away to shimmy along to the smooth tunes of the trumpets and drums. “C’mon… don’t tell me you don’t know how to dance?”
A smile slowly spread across his face as he awkwardly stepped side to side and bobbed his head to the beat, watching Marina drunkenly dance. Catching his lack of dance moves, Marina shook her head and took his hand once again. “That’s not how you dance…”
She attempted to spin him. Jonah twirled regardless of their height difference, laughing at Marina’s enthusiasm. “...that’s how you dance!” She yelled.
The two then laughed, jumped and swayed along to the music, their playful dance moves drastically clashing with the dramatic and funky mood of the music. Jonah then pulled Marina closer to him.
While the blood orange sun sunk on the horizon, the air became hot yet invigorating at the same time. Something seemingly put them on a high they can’t back down, and it wasn’t the alcohol.
Then like a magnet touching a metal surface, the two kissed.
It was like they were the only ones there at the bar. Marina closed her eyes, lost in the moment, while Jonah placed his hand on her shoulder, longing to get closer to her. But by accident, he made her scarf slip and her huge scar was now then exposed to the world. To Jonah.
Feeling the hot air turn chilly and breezy, Marina then pulled away to see her scarf on the floor. It made her snap out of the drunken trance she was in..
Jonah’s eyes widened at the huge scar, realizing where she got it. “Marina…”
“Get away from me!” She picked up her scarf and then ran away, stumbling a bit. Jonah didn’t know whether to chase after her or not, but he still did, worried that something might happen to her if she got away from his sight.
“Marina, I’m sorry!” “No!” Marina ran outside, where she accidentally bumped into Athena, whose phone was in her ear, looking a bit confused.
Athena lowered her phone and ended the call. “Marina, I was trying to call you -” “Marina, please, I didn’t mean to -” “NO!” Marina grabbed Athena’s hand. “Stay away from me, and never talk to me again!” He then turned to Athena for help, who just sighed. “Carmen and Angela headed out earlier, Angela wanted to try and talk some sense into Lars again… I suggest you sit in the front of the cab later, Jonah.”
Once they were able to haul a cab, Marina was the first to go inside the back seat, trying to distance herself from Jonah as far as possible inside a small cab. Frowning, Jonah did what Athena said and sat in front.
“So… what did Jonah do?” Athena asked once she was sure that the weapons expert was asleep after a few minutes.
Staring out the window, Marina contemplated how to respond. Both of them were drunk, so she didn’t know whether both of them mutually consented to that kiss or not. She didn’t know (or maybe remember) if they actually enjoyed the kiss. Marina wanted to hate it, but the foggy memories of the things Jonah told her about him, his interests, the guilt in his eyes when he saw her scar…
Is there really something more to Jonah than assassinations and murder?
For a whole week, she’d been thinking about it. Ever since the kiss, Jonah never attempted to approach her again. He would avoid her gaze whenever they’re both in the breakroom while Marina reaches for a bag of tea. He wouldn’t look at her during briefings or emergency meetings with the Bureau either. Whatever eagerness was first there trying to make up with her before was now replaced with hesitance and fright.
A cup of tea in her hand, Marina sighed once again while thinking about Jonah. It felt embarrassing for her to admit he has been on her mind ever since they kissed.
She knew she wasn’t overreacting, so she didn’t need to apologize. Any person would react like that if they ever survived an assassination attempt before. She’d even think it was Stockholm Syndrome given that he held her captive before, but no, she wasn’t like that…
Her previous animosity towards him turned into curiosity. The previous psychological analysis she conducted towards him was on her desk. It indicated her perception towards him as an aggressive, dangerous individual with volatile instability… previously, she’d immediately thought he wasn’t to be trusted. Her instincts were never wrong, after all…
However, he refused to kill her. He had principles, he wasn’t easily blinded by the money nor the task at hand. He could’ve chosen to kill her without any further questions, but he chose not to. And somehow, he brought along the guilt of almost killing her all this time.
Maybe there’s a chance I was wrong about him.
Knock, knock. Marina turned to her office door. “Come in!”
The door opened to reveal Athena. It made Marina a bit disappointed, hoping it was Jonah. “Hey, Lars is inviting us to the monastery since he’s going to renew his vows with Angela there. Wanna come?”
“Uh, sure, definitely.” Maybe it’d help her take her mind off of Jonah for a bit.
But it didn’t. As the Bureau watched the happy couple kiss amidst the orange rays of the sunset, it only reminded Marina of their own kiss. And why she chose criminal psychology instead of marriage counseling.
“I am so happy that Angela and Lars have made it through all these hard times, Athena…” She whispered to the agent beside her.
“Definitely. I hope their marriage will keep staying strong.”
“Me too…” She heard Jonah say, who was on Athena’s other side. “Marriage is hard work. It takes guts to forgive…”
“Speaking of forgiveness…” Marina spoke up and turned to Jonah’s direction. This time, there was no alcohol influencing her. It’s simply her own conscience. “Jonah, I've had time to think... about how you disobeyed your orders to kill me… Maybe I should get a better understanding of your side of the story... over some tea?”
“Tea? With me?” Jonah’s eyes widened, the blush evident in his face. “Uh, sure! Just say when.”
She laughed in response, hoping to bond with Jonah, their hearts finally on their sleeves. Without any liquor. “...When.”

AO3 wrapped [writers edition]
always nice to close out the year talking about writing, so here are my responses for 2023:
How many words have you written this year?
163073
2. How many works did you publish this year?
three one-shots (hetero of the year, en garde, and lovely figurines), the last few chapters of like because, love despite, and the first five chapters of the road is made by walking.
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
i really did love writing (and still love) hetero of the year. thankfully, the kudos/hits do align with that, so i guess it's not just me. :)
4. What work of yours has the most hits?
on a per-chapter basis, hetero of the year with 7178 for a one-shot.
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
i was kinda down on like because, love despite at the beginning because it wasn't getting much traction, but in later chapters and especially once finished, engagement picked up a lot.
6. Favorite title you used
i rather liked like because, love despite. i felt it linked with the original movie closely enough but without being too similar and with a different angle to the original title.
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
lovely figurines (still speak to me today) is the only title pulled from song lyrics, so i guess suzanne vega? the road is made by walking is pulled from an antonio machado poem that has been adapted INTO song, but i don't think that counts.
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
i haven't written about anything but wilmon since 2021, dude. xD
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
see previous answer.
10. What work was the quickest to write?
hetero of the year wrote itself SHOCKINGLY fast for a 21K-word behemoth of a one-shot.
11. What work took you the longest to write?
like because, love despite took nearly a year to complete. about a month-ish per chapter, when you think about it that way.
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
i only work on one fic at a time, so i don't have WIPs other than the one i'm currently posting (the road is made by walking). i've got 31 ideas in various levels of detail in my "fic ideas" folder, though.
13. What’s your longest work of the year?
like because, love despite is nearly 100K words.
14. What’s your shortest work of the year?
en garde clocked in at 3241 words.
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
the road is made by walking, as mentioned above.
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
"romance." because of course.
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
this year marked a bit of a turn on my level of comfort writing simon. all three of my one-shots were actually from his PoV, and both chaptered fics alternate between his and wille's PoVs. not that i didn't write from simon's PoV before, but last year i still felt a bit apprehensive whenever i did; i've historically felt a bit too close to simon to feel comfortable writing him-- he's the character i identify with the most and that often makes me nervous that i'm writing myself into my stories rather than writing the character. i didn't really feel nervous about it this year. i guess practice makes… not perfect, but easier.
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
i had to write more august this year than i've had to in the past, and i'm still cringing about it.
19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
bish, please. xD in this house, it's wilmon or bust.
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
i've reread hetero of the year more times than i can count. it just puts a smile on my face, what can i say?
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?
1357
22. Which work has the most comments?
again on a per-chapter basis, hetero of the year with 67 comment threads on its only chapter.
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year?
not this year, no. :(
24. Did you write any gifts this year?
two! en garde for @the-amber-fox and lovely figurines for tui.
25. Did you receive any gifts this year?
one! the talented miss @the-amber-fox wrote love is everything, stupid as my birthday present. <3
26. What’s your most common category?
M/M. because of course.
27. What do you listen to while writing?
the TV? sometimes it's the news, sometimes it's just youtube videos, but i usually work/study/write with the TV on.
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?
i feel like this is the same as question 3, idk. same answer.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
i really loved the big argument at the end of chapter 9 of like because, love despite. i was really, really proud of how that scene came out.
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
it's not much a writing surprise as it is a reading surprise, i guess? but i didn't know so many people out there wait until a fic is completed to start reading it. i'm very much a read-as-i-go girl as long as i have assurances that the fic will not end tragically (always tag your angst with a happy ending, folks! don't alienate potential readers just by forgetting the tag!). but it seems a good chunk of the fandom doesn't start reading anything unless they know it's complete. and i totally get why, truly, but it just hadn't ever really occurred to me to do that, lol. xD

Hi Moon!
I'm here for Aruani writer ask game :3
1 3 6 7 9 10 11 14
Hello Anna, and thank you for the ask ./////.
1 - Share your favorite part of your latest fic T^T A trick question! I have many little moments I love! But okay, here's one I can quickly think of, from Ch 10 of VBEOW:
Armin reaches up his free hand to brush a lock of hair away from her face as she continues to hold his gaze. Eyes like the daylight sky, that hold strength and resilience within those light blue irises. They expand into the dark pupils of night whenever they focus on him and him only.  The inside of his palm hollows to fit the gentle curve of her cheek and she leans into his touch. She keeps her eyes on his and doesn't break contact even when his thumb brushes along her delicate lower lashes. "What are you thinking?" She whispers. I want to make love to you, he thinks. Undress you, kiss you, take you high. His index finger  brushes along her upper lashes, long and beautiful, and her eyelids flutter closed.  He wants to make love to her. Give her ecstasy and pleasure and everything he has to offer. But he's so tired.
3 - If you look back at your first fic compared to your last, what's changed? This is answered over here :3
6 - Tell us about your longest fic Uh, VBEOW is... the current and only longfic xD I honestly have never written a chaptered fic before for several reasons, and I also didn't see myself doing this until 2 months ago when I thought about the sequel to TFLM and suddenly went "oh shit, I can't fit all this into a oneshot ._." And so it happened and the intro that was supposed to be 2 chapters became 7... and now I think it will extend well into the late twenties ._. All that said, I think it's the best use of my time that I've spent recently. It makes me very happy to think about, to plan, to write, and I'm glad I'm living my best life in this fic anyway xD I'm very proud of it for sure. I am also a fan of giving people a visual adventure/treat on anything I try to do, and here I've found an opportunity to do that for both the characters themselves, and for the readers.
7 - What was the inspiration behind your shortest fic? Shortest fic... would be... Falling Into Neptune at 4.6k words and it was this song: Tenno - Spirit of Life xD The song just told me to write about their first kiss in Fort Salta and to make it HOT.
9 - Which of your fics is your favorite and why? I'm sure I've already said this 329835923856 times xD But TFLM. Idk why exactly, if you asked me to point out how superior it is to VBEOW, I can't do that because it's not, and it's also not that complicated... but I guess I just really like the Fort Salta setting in general and I just fit all the magic into that last day as much as I possibly could. Also, considering it's given a great deal of inspiration for VBEOW, I'm very grateful to it :3
10 - Write about their first kiss! ... this question actually confuses me xD Because first kiss... as I've written it... or in general?? ._. But anyway, as a headcanon, I'd imagine it would be pretty awkward. With both of them secretly dying to kiss each other and also nervous as fuck; Armin will think too much, Annie will think too little - it's bound to be a little... messy, maybe? xD But they'll fall into rhythm in less than 0.5 minutes, because they're quick learners, and they're hot and awesome T//////T
11 - What annoys you the most about your own writing habits? Hm. First and foremost, the fact that I can't relax and slow down my pace. If a fic/chapter is mostly fully outlined in my head, I just can't go "Okay, i'll write this in two days" no, because I'm already itching to write it and I tend to ignore all my other responsibilities altogether xD Second is how I always second-guess my intelligence with plotlines I suppose.
14 - Tell us about a detail you wrote that nobody has commented on yet. I don't think it exists, especially not when you, in particular, pick up every detail and more xD However if we're strictly going to by "commented" I guess the only thing I can remember off the top of my head is that Kari-Armin interaction in Ch. 11 :3
Thanks very much for the ask T^T

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @cursedvibes
Thank you for the tag <3
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
21
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
465,450
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Hunter X Hunter - not actively at the moment, i needed a break
呪術廻戦 | Jujutsu Kaisen (Manga) - kinda actively, though writing has been hard
魔道祖师 - 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù - one gift fic
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1) The Only One - wins at kudos by a very high margin, compared to everything else, it’s an author pleaser, super indulgent SukuIta fic. Partially ooc for indulgence sake. A Royalty AU. Rating: E
2) Stellar Date - wins by a high margin with other KilluGon stuff. It’s a very fluffy one shot, the fluffiest I have on ao3. A college AU. Rating: T
3) Trapped - my darker SukuIta fic. I’d argue the better one because far less ooc. A let’s say Beauty and the Beast AU but not really. Rating: E
4) Why am I like this? - the ode to Killua’s fragile gay mind. A KilluGon high school AU. Rating: M
5) Knov's List - another high school AU, this time in equal parts KilluGon and AlluNary. Rating: M
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to always respond, but on multi chapter fic I feel I shouldn’t respond before publishing the next chapter… I know it’s weird XD
But I'm doing my best.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I’m honestly too soft and gooey inside for writing angst… whenever I write any, I take it very poorly.
I’ve only once written a fic that didn’t have a happy ending and to this day I feel very guilty about it.
All our Wards Went on Holiday - It’s a very strange AU for the 魔道祖师 - 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù fandom, and a rare pair to boot (Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn/Wēn Níng | Wēn Qiónglín). Rating: T
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Apart from the fic mentioned above, all my finished fics have happy endings or open endings.
8. Do you get hate on fic?
Nah, I got spam once.
9. Do you write smut?
Yeah, 6 out of my 21 fics are rated E. It’s horrible and it takes 3 times as much time to write than regular stuff.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Nah, I don’t see the appeal.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I have, I don’t know about it. But I highly doubt that.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nah. I don’t exactly understand why people do it, translation is so time consuming. Maybe as practice?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I co-write my original stuff, fic is just for me.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I will not choose favourites between my children.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?
I want to finish all my wips. And I try not to be pessimistic about it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Commenters mention world building and characterisation most often, then the feels.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I hate every aspect of my writing. But what I dislike the most is my writing style. I’ve tried improving it but fuck me, I just can’t make it better. I find it extremely unpleasant to read.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Without a translation? Pretentious.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Hunter X Hunter - I’d never processed media through a fandom before HxH.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Lol, none, they are all kinda shit. I write to externalise my ADHD, otherwise it drives me crazy. I guess I have the most fondness for my first fics in fandoms, like you’d have for any first attempt at a craft, you tried so you get a cookie kinda thing. So Fairytale kingdom, nightmare castle for HxH, and Trapped for JJK, both rated E.
20 fic writers is much more than I know XD And some that I know aren’t on Tumblr. Tagging but only if you feel like it: @subdee, @ishouldgetatumbler, @twila-star, @canzie-gumm, @yuujispinkhair, @voidcat-senket, @clood, @fireolin, @mysterypond, @dream-of-tanalorr

Three Ships: (I... don't even know how I can pick 3 so I'll just pick the 3 most recent XD)
1. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad x Desmond Miles (Assassin's Creed)
My current OTP. Can't really be sure how they became my OTP but I just love writing them. The fact that they're both morally ambiguous (especially Altaïr during his AC1 days) makes it fun to think of different scenarios to throw them in. Definitely have the 'I'll kill for you' and 'I'll destroy the world/timeline to save you' vibes which I'm weak for. Also, the fact that they're centuries apart means I could easily add in time-travel fix-its which I'm weak for as well and the Bleeding Effect adds a touch of 'to be completely and wholly connected' setup that I can use whenever I feel like it. (To be fair, this is applicable to Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton as well and I do pair Desmond with them too but pairing him with Altaïr means more morally ambiguous/questionable setups XD)
2. Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd x Byleth Eisner (Fire Emblem Three Houses)
Speaking of 'I'll kill for you' and 'I'll destroy the world/timeline to save you', this pairing is the one that got me back into writing fanfic. The sheer potential of the three routes and Byleth's time-bending powers scratched my 'time travel fix it' weakness and the fact that Dimitri dies in all other routes not his own just makes my angst-with-a-happy-ending heart go hhnngggnnn.
3. Mio x Noah (Xenoblade Chronicles 3)
The development of their relationship in the main game got me. I don't normally like canon pairings, especially in JRPGs, but this one... The short moments of sweetness between them, the angst building up and culminating into those huge scenes in Chapters 5 and 6, the anguish in Harry McEntire's voice as Noah in those scenes, the absolute fuckery that is an absolute spoiler and... ugghhh. They're one of the few canon pairings I wish will have a happy ending.
(honorable mentions: sterek (the movie reignited what had long been embers because fuck that movie), merthur (they are the once and future otp), ghoap (shipped them casually in OG, loved them in the reboot) and hibatsuna/1827 (the pairing that got me writing fanfics in the first place))
First Ship: I had to think which pairing would be my first ship and I have concluded that it's Loki x Mayura Daidouji from Matantei Loki (although I do prefer Mayura's characterization from the manga). Mayura is the reason why I love pink-haired characters and their pairing has cemented the whole 'sunshine x loner/arrogant ass' otp trope for me. (I still believe in the theory that Mayura is meant to be Sigyn)
Last Song: Tranquility by Sawano Hiroyuki
Last Film: Teen Wolf (2023 Movie)
Currently reading: ... does the mission transcripts of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II count? If not, I guess the 120+ pages legal document my boss made me read for work XD
Currently watching: Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, (rewatching) Leverage
Currently consuming: Plain white corn
Currently craving: An all-you-can-eat buffet that gives me a food coma for an hour or so then makes me regret all my life choices later at night
Tagging @scrysthea, @fanworldbuildingfun, @kitsunesongs, @escapism-and-disassociation and @princesslikesfanfics but no pressure whatsoever. And anyone who sees this and wants to do it!

Xiaobedo Fanfic Recommendation
Welcome to my personal “if you are new to xiaobedo peeps please read these” list. As said before this is my personal list so please feel free to reblog/comment/hit me for not including any gem here. I might miss a lot of them because I am drunk or blind. (mostly have them on my to read and then forgot as I am being assault by real life shit).
I would like to say first that so far there are 150+ Xiaobedo fics on Ao3. I can’t review all of them but I can say that I have read a majority of them. Most of them are just pure love and I would like nothing more than a thousands thank you for all the fic writers who spent their free time writting these gems for us to read for free. But these...these takes the cake as it finds a special landing spot in my heart that I would just thrust them into someone’s hand if they say “I am new to this ship can you recommend me?”
1. Orange dust by bobamilkteas (Wes)
In which Xiao learns to open himself up to the world a little more after the collapse of Rex lapis's contracts but it was not always easy for a soul doomed to eternal damnation. Meanwhile, Albedo liked to tempt fate where the extraordinary are concerned.
If only the traveler's comrades are made of saner bunch.
Comment: Long ago when I like both Albedo and Xiao as a character, I was wondering hmmm....will anyone actually even write about them lmao they never met each other. I am surprise to see this one as the 3rd fic in the whole 3 Xiaobedo fic on Ao3 (yeah back when there’s literally only 3 fic for this couple). I was like I’ll read it for the curiosity, I’ll probably won’t ship them. And that people is how I put my clown make up on my face upon finishing reading it. This ONE fic alone convert me into a devotee of Xiaobedo. Please consider joining me in this circus if you want to know what is Xiaobedo. I would put this as the first of my “Big 3″
Orange Dust also come with its compliation of short stories over the course of the game and a big sequel to it. Please also consider reading ALL OF THEM.
2. Solar Wind by birdpriestess (Sparrow)
For the yaksha, his duty was his life, and his life was his duty. No human could ever hope to understand the eternal war he fought out of sight and in silence.
So why, then, did he feel that Albedo would understand?
---
Finding himself at death's door once more, Xiao is saved by a surprising person, setting off the unlikeliest of adventures.
Comment: Do you like crying? Do you like the feeling of getting your heart ripped into pieces as the author destroy your emotions over the end of each chapter as the story picked up the climax? Yeah, this one is for you masochists. The action, the characterisation, the drama THE EMOTIONS OH WOW. I kid you not that it was so good I read this while workinng when I am not suppose to me. Also, this fic has my favourite characterisation of Gold ever. I love that dramatic queen Mad Alchemist. AND DAIN. I LOVE DAIN IN THIS FIC. Our dearest Sparrow manage to toy with our feelings like how I bully ruin guard for big numbers lmao. This is the secound of “Big 3″ of my Xiaobedo list.
Again, just like Orange Dust, Solar Wind comes with its own compliation of short stories of what came after that. Please also consider reading ALL OF THEM.
3. Castle of Glass by AlchemicalStardust (Morgie)
A black shadow rises over Huaguang Stone Forest. Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, Albedo flees the shaking ground and the crash of boulders tumbling form the sky. As the dust settles, Albedo finds a young man – an Adeptus – amidst the carnage. Despite the karmic agony ripping his body from the inside, Xiao’s only question is “How?” How did a human survive after witnessing his battle?
Comment: The last of the “Big 3″ of my Xiaobedo list. And it is still on going! Castle of Glass? More like I AM IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTIONS! Have you read a fic about 2 people yearning, longing, reaching out for each other so damn well that you just want to throw your phone in the air as they both had their impending doom coming down upon them? Yeah this is one of them. You will like want to be stuck in the moment they express how much they just yearn for each other’s love and care that you want to shake the author for what comes next. Like...everytime Morgie update I am expressing my gratitude at the end of the chapter by writing on Xiaobedo discord “MORGIE COME HERE AND LET ME BONK YOU WHY ARE YOU ENDING IT THERE”
trust me when you read you will def feel the same. With just Big 3 and their compliation alone that would give you like a LONG list of reading already LMAOOOOOOO
4. Find a place to call it home  by yamajiroo
Our room, he said. Xiao’s brow twitches. Zhongli never said anything about this. But then again, perhaps he should anticipate this from the beginning...
Xiao looks over at Albedo, who is now tilting his head, his look as innocent as ever.
“Are you not okay with sharing a room?”
Comment: College AU for Xiaobedo! One thing that I love this is the slow burn and what made me LOVE LOVE LOVE this fic more is how cute Klee is in this fic. Their relationship in this one is very simple, but that simplicity highlight why their chemistry work. Xiao is someone who was just very gentle, who was largely misunderstood by his lonesome nature. Albedo was someone who like peace and quite in his introvert bubble. And how they respect that bubble that each other has actually made their relationship work. I love it when fic highlight this and this one captures it.
5. I Can't See Your Face From the Other Side of the Classroom by MissWeaver
When Albedo and Xiao unexpectedly start eating lunch together, they begin to find that they have more in common than anyone would have realized. They both struggle in their own ways with blossoming feelings, too many assignments, and annoying classmates as they navigate a relationship for the first time.
Comment: I’ll be honest, I usually hate high school au just because its so cliche. I don’t even watch and drama/anime surrounds high school student anymore LMAOOO (unless it’s very good). So if there’s an high school AU that I actually keep come back and read after a couple of chapters, it means that the cliche that I hate wasn’t there or barely was there at all. The pinning in this fic makes me want to bang their head together sometimes LMAOOO The tag wasn’t kidding when they said both Xiao and Albedo are bad at feelings. Also that’s a lot of heart broken caused by these two idiots XD
6. new world, same me, same bullshit  by  bobamilkteas (Wes)
At the belly of Dragonspine, Albedo lost control to the festering corruption that permeated his senses and watched, from the recesses of his mind, as his devoured body turned his allies into enemies. Before his rampage reached its climax, he is sealed in a crystalized confinement by the last hand of Reindottir, where he then reawakens centuries after, in a rebooted Teyvat.
Comment: Yeah I know it was list in Orange Dust but here me out. This sets out in an entirely different universe. And if you like Polyamory, this one has Zhongli joining the duo and I love it because I also love ZhongXiao with my life. Time Travel is my biggest kink. Especially when I am the person who love it when people explore Archon War era/ Alatus!Xiao. So this one hits double of my kink. Of course it is still on going and I will bully Wes whenever I can to see that new chapter. Albedo is a total fucking badass in this story and I completely agree from using him in Abyss so often. Everyone should write badass Albedo.
7. misplaced heart of mine by  inkburn
“If you are ill, then you should be resting at home. In Mondstadt.” He emphasized Mondstadt with a pointed look in his direction.
“I assure you I won’t be troublesome, Adeptus Xiao,” Albedo said, “You’ll find I’m a rather low-maintenance traveler.”
“Travel,” Xiao scoffed, “without airstep?”
Albedo looked him up and down. “Are your legs just for decoration?”
(albedo is sent to liyue on mandatory vacation. xiao is his unfortunate bodyguard.)
Comment: Most of the time you will see Albedo and Xiao starting their relationship with one of them taking interest in another. But this one took another approach, they starting off by make them hating each other’s guts LMAOOOO and I live for every second of it. There’s only 1 chapter so far but wow it was SOOO GOOD. I am really really excited for next chapter and is waiting patiently ;w;
8.  Blossom of Grace  by birdpriestess
One day in Liyue Harbor, Albedo watches a street performance by an enigmatic dancer named Xiao. And he becomes completely obsessed.
Comment: Have you ever look at Xiao fight and thinking that he’s one of the most beautiful deadly thing ever? How it was like he was dancing around the battlefield? How about actual dancer Xiao being so absolutely beautiful and perfect and that slow burn of Albedo falling in love with that beauty with a touch of Modern AU and cute Ganyu as the Wing woman. Yes, Sparrow delivers yet again another beautiful slow burn and while it’s still ongoing it is worth the read.
9. i think we could make this work (could get used to this) by outspaced
“Xiao? What are you doing out here?”
“I—”
“It’s raining,” Albedo says, as if it isn’t obvious. “You could get struck by lightning.”
“What are you doing out here then?” Xiao does the only thing he knows how to do, he challenges Albedo. “It’s raining.”
Albedo just hums. “If I get struck by lightning, it’s for science.”
Comment: A short one-shot where I read the summary and went “This is it... this is their relationship.” I am sold immediately. Oh god Albedo why are you like this.
10. Ephemeral by criedprinz
“It’s not for your investigation, is it?” Aether asked mildly.
Albedo traced a finger around the sketchbook, considering the question. “No,” he admitted finally. “I... I just want to see them again.”
He opened the sketchbook to reveal the drawing he’d just finished. Aether nodded, clearly recognizing the sharp golden eyes.
“Xiao,” he said. “You were rescued by an adeptus.”
When a visit to Dragonspine goes horribly wrong, Albedo is rescued by an unknown stranger, wielding powers he's never heard of. Led on a search to find out who it is, he finds himself in the middle of an unforgettable encounter..
Comment: A really really well written one-shot that I love. The yearning oh godddd the yearning from Albedo side is just so so much that I have to put it here. (I think you can see the trend here lmao. I am a sucker for yearning). And the moment they get to meet each other again is just chef kiss. MWHAA
11. Idle Yaksha, Brilliant Yaksha by Pit0fTheEarth
Alatus didn’t have a lot of responsibilities to keep. He spent most of his days dancing across the sky and eating away all nightmares that plagued a person’s sleep.
But one fortunate encounter led to too many unfortunate ones, taking his carefree existence and plunging it in darkness. His wings, stripped from him. His gentle touch, replaced by an unforgiving grip of destruction.
There was a lot of blood on his hands. With each passing moment, it became harder for Alatus to recall the last time someone gently held him.
Comment: This is one of the ongoing fic where I am very very much excited on the take of Naberius. And the way the author portray Xiao when he’s still the innocent Alatus is just *clench fist*. Baby ;w; Baby why do you have to lose all that innocence. Also the fic has long LONG flashback to Xiao past and his relationship with Naberius. We are unwielding more what happened to both of them and why perhaps does this have to do with Albedo.
That’s it for now, might add more later! Thank you <3

— A/N: Guys, I’m so bad at summaries, if this was an exam my grades would’ve been in the negative. Anyway, welcome to the new chapter! I know I was supposed to post fallen, but somehow I ended up writing Calico instead.
I’ve had a bad case of writer’s block this week so writing this chapter was really painful, words refused to come out of my brain xD I hope you like it! You guys have been so awesome, all your feedback is really helpful. Thank you so much <3

Tumblr media
I made my way downstairs in search of breakfast. Ice cream, that’s what I needed. It was that kind of a day. I was tired, jet lagged, and the tension in the house had me on edge. The flight home was fairly uneventful, except for the part where Jimin had gotten scared of flying. He had asked to hold my hand, but by the time we were in the air, the hybrid was practically sitting on my lap. Not that I minded, he was hella cuddly and his purring was downright therapeutic.
When I had asked Jungkook, if it would be okay to bring the newer hybrids home, the bunny had sounded excited, but as soon as we had gotten home, the mood had suddenly shifted. It was not the welcome I was expecting.
First, Jungkook’s hair was the color of the rainbow. His beautiful black locks were turned into a colorful mess, his white bunny ears poking out of it in stark contrast. It was a riot of colors, artfully mixed together, and I felt like I was looking at rainbow pasta. Not that the bunny didn’t pull it off, he looked really cute in it, but somehow I had a raging suspicion that it hadn’t been Jungkook’s idea.
Then, there was the growling match. I had never seen Jungkook so aggressive before. The usually sweet and well behaved bunny had started growling at Jimin as soon as we’d entered the house.. That had set off a chain reaction with Namjoon and Seokjin joining in to protect their younger packmate.
On top of that, I had to go to Seoul for three days to take care of business. I had to visit the main office to attend a few meetings and sign some papers. The whole time I felt guilty about leaving the hybrids alone. I was constantly worried that somehow they’d end up fighting. By the time I came back, somehow, someway, Jason had managed to convince Jimin to dye his hair pink. He was on a warpath.
And lastly, there was the issue of a certain stuffed penguin that went missing -  my nights were sleepless without him. All in all, this had to have been one of the shittiest weeks, and it felt like I was losing my grip on reality.
I stumbled into the kitchen, rubbing my eyes, struggling to keep them open. Unlike Jason, who was cheerfully humming, I was not a morning person. Seokjin was busy near the stove, cooking something and by the smell wafting from the pan, I could tell that it was something delicious. I had thanked every existing god when I’d learned that the sugar glider hybrid was actually an excellent chef. The first morning, he had seen Jason cook breakfast, he’d been horrified, promptly taking over the kitchen after that. Even Jungkook had begrudgingly ate his food.
My stomach grumbled as I peered in the pan. Kimchi fried rice, delicious. Unlike Jimin and Jungkook, the two older hybrids weren’t really that affectionate. I wondered if it was because they weren’t used to me yet or if they just had a different temperament. I needed to do more research on that.
I plopped down on the chair with a groan, resting my head on the counter, hands securely wrapped around my stomach. Jason gave me an enthusiastic “good morning” and I shot him a middle finger, too tired to curse at him. The bastard chuckled.
I was debating if I should stab him with a fork when I felt hands wrapping around my waist, long fingers intertwined with mine. Jungkook bent down to nuzzle the side of my face. His muscular body pressed close. My lips curled into a small smile as I made small happy noises. My brain wasn’t awake enough to form coherent sentences yet. I needed my cup of coffee or better yet, some delicious ice cream.
Jungkook’s arms tightened around me possessively, I could feel the vibrations in his chest as he let out a low growl. I opened my eyes to see Jimin standing near the chair, looking distressed, hands balled into fists at his sides. His tail was swishing rapidly in agitation, ears flattened to his head. He was biting his lower lip, trying his best not to respond to Jungkook’s hostility.
“Bunny no,” I croaked, patting his hands, my voice thick with sleep. I lifted my head, extending a hand to Jimin. Jungkook took his cue and reluctantly let me go, keeping hold of my other hand. Jimin grabbed my hand and with his other one checked my forehead, a worried look on his face.
“Are you sick?” he asked, gnawing on his lip.
“I’m just sleepy.” He giggled at my pout and graced me with a forehead kiss. He sat down next to me, and now I was sandwiched between two hybrids who were holding my hands, glaring daggers at each other. I rested my forehead on the counter with a sigh. What was I going to do with them?
Once again I was in a dilemma. I could scold them and make them shake hands, like a couple of kids, or I could let them handle it on their own, like adults. Taking care of four hybrids was tiring. I shot a quick glance at Seokjin, who was now setting up the table; he was ignoring the two younger hybrids in front of him, but his tail was curled tightly, ears flat. It seemed as if he was tense too.
“Guys, I need breakfast,” I said, reluctantly pulling my hands from their grip. I made my way to the fridge to grab a tub of my favorite ice cream, ignoring the stares that the hybrids were giving me. I had to stop myself from pulling Jason’s ear as I passed him, not now Y/N. The revenge for ruining Jungkook’s hair had to be elaborately planned, something memorable, just like old days. Like the time when I had super glued his shirt cuffs closed, so he couldn't put his hands through the sleeves. He had started this war, I was going to finish it.
“I like your garden!” Namjoon said as he walked in through the back door. Ears perked up, an excited glint in his eyes. I didn’t even know he was out there. I wondered if he could help me with the hybrid situation, he was a pack leader after all. He had informed me about hybrid pack dynamics on the plane while I cuddled a sleepy Jimin. Apparently he was their alpha, the leader of their pack, Seokjin was second in command and Jimin was their maknae. He was excited to meet Jungkook, since he was a rabbit hybrid, they're usually very docile and friendly. Needless to say, we had both been shocked at the bunny's behavior.
“I’m glad you like it. Maybe you could help me with it?”
“Really? I would love to!”
We all moved to the seldom used dining table for breakfast - now that there were six of us, the kitchen counter was too small to occupy us all. I debated where to sit, I didn't want to take sides in the hybrid cold war, so I chose to sit at the head of the table, safe middle ground. I knew Jungkook would want to share the ice cream. I wondered if the other hybrids would too, so I had brought extra spoons, just in case.
"Seokjin, this is delicious!" Jason said as soon as he took a bite of the fried rice. "Where did you learn to cook like this?" I couldn't help but smile at the hint of envy in his voice.
"Madame hired a professional chef to teach me when she found out I liked to cook," he said shyly, ears turning pink from all the attention. It was his cutest trait: whenever someone looked at him, his ears would start to redden.
"That was nice of her," I said dryly, the distaste apparent in my tone.
"She was really nice," Namjoon said pointedly, clearly disliking my tone.
“Clair was kind, she saved us from our previous owners and gave us a home,” Jimin joined him.
"Oh?" Jason said, trying to coax some details. The three hybrids shared a quick look. Jungkook had abandoned his fried rice and was digging into my ice cream, his ears perked, listening in on the conversation.
“My first owner was a gambler, but he didn’t play poker. He and his rich friends were into blood sports. They had their own dog fighting ring. He had raised me since I was a pup, trained me to be a fighter, forced me to participate. One day, Clair saw me at a party and she wanted to buy me, she offered him so much money that he couldn’t refuse,” Namjoon finished with a sad smile. I wanted to go and hug him, but I was sure the hybrid wouldn’t welcome the gesture.
“I…” Jimin paused, looking down at his hands. “The lady who raised me, she brought me clients. She’d sell me to people… sometimes it was for a night, sometimes it was more. She used to tell me that I was her lucky charm. Clair rescued me from her, she was really kind to me.”
The spoon in my hand clattered on the table. There was a ringing in my ear. My limbs were paralyzed, heart pounding in my chest as I felt the panic rise, almost drowning in it. I couldn't get enough air, finding myself on the verge of hyperventilating while my brain went into overdrive. It wasn’t my first panic attack, I was aware of what was happening to me, I knew I had to get a hold of myself. I couldn’t lose it here, not in front of them.
“Y/N? Hey can you hear me?” I turned towards the voice, Jason’s face slowly came into focus, “are you okay?”
“Y/N?” Jungkook said, looking extremely worried. He was holding my hand like a lifeline. I slowly removed his fingers and took my hand back.
“Yes, I’m fine,” I murmured, trying to control my breathing. I got up from the chair with wobbly knees, making my way towards the door. “You guys finish up, I’ll be in my office.”
Redemption, what a joke.
Tumblr media
It was well into the afternoon when my stomach informed me that I was hungry. I was swarmed with paperwork. I’d been busy the whole week, running errands, filling forms, trying to keep the hybrids from tearing each other apart, so the paperwork got neglected, and now I was paying for it. I briefly wondered if I should go back home and grab something to eat, but then I remembered the look on everyone’s faces this morning. I had panicked in front of them. I had been feeling restless the whole week without a certain comfort penguin. I was too embarrassed to ask the guys if they had seen it.
I groaned, leaning back in my chair. How was I going to face them? What would I tell them if they asked? A knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts. “Come in.”
It was Jungkook, holding a bowl. He tentatively entered the office, looking everywhere but at me. His ears were drooping behind him. “I brought you lunch,” he said, setting the bowl on the table.
“I’m sorry I pushed you away this morning,” I apologized, extending a hand towards him, which he took hesitantly. I pulled him in my lap and buried my face in his chest; he smelled like vanilla.
“Are you okay?” Jungkook asked, wrapping his big hands around me.
“No,” I whispered. “But don't worry bunny, I’ll be fine. I just need some sleep.”
“Is it because of Jimin? Can’t we just send him away?”
That made me raise my head to look at him. “Why don’t you like him, bun?”
“He’s too clingy,” Jungkook pouted, jutting his lower lip out. It made me giggle.
“What about Namjoon and Seokjin?”
“They can stay, Seokjin hyung makes delicious food and Namjoon hyung is so cool.”
“Oh, did you talk to them?”
He shook his head no. I almost cooed at him - the poor bunny was too shy to talk to the older hybrids. “Why don’t you try making friends with Jimin? I bet you’ll like him if you got to know him better.”
He buried his face in my hair and shook his head, “...don't wanna.”
I took his hand in mine. “Won’t you do it for me?” I asked dramatically, trying to sound upset.
Jungkook leaned back to look at me, pout more pronounced. He knew exactly what I was doing. “Fine, I’ll try,” he agreed with a defeated sigh.
“Thank you, baby.” I kissed his palm in gratitude. At least he had agreed to try. “Why did you dye your hair?” I asked curiously, running my hands through his multicolored locks.
“Iwantyoutolikeme,” he said in one breath, hiding his face in my hair again.
“What?”
“I want you to like me.”
“You dyed your hair because you want me to like you?” Jungkook nodded. “Oh baby, I already like you!” I squeezed him tight, letting him know how much he meant to me. Is that what Jason had told Jimin? That I’d like him better if he dyed his hair? Jason was diabolical, I really needed to come up with a good plan to get back at him.
“Bun, next time, don’t listen to Jason.”
Tumblr media
I was curled up on the sofa with a blanket. It was past midnight but I was wide awake and restless, staring at the ceiling. I had almost turned on the TV, but then I remembered that there were four hybrids in the house with phenomenal hearing, and I really didn’t want to wake them up. And thus, I suffered in silence.
I hadn’t seen the three new hybrids all day; they hadn’t been introduced to the shelter yet, so they stayed at home. When I came back from work, they were already in their room. They had insisted on staying in the same room, something about new places and pack bonding. I was giving Jason the cold shoulder, at least until he apologized for his crimes. And Jungkook was busy playing his new video games.
Clair had saved Jimin.
The thought rang in my head. Why hadn’t she saved me? Would things have been different, if she had stepped in? I had to admit, I was a tiny bit jealous of the panther hybrid. She had saved him.
Madame was so kind.
I was furious. How dare she? Clair had been a coward, had lived and died as one. I knew it in my soul, never in a million years would I ever forgive that woman. She didn’t deserve it.
“You’re angry,” a quiet voice said. I looked up to see a tall silhouette standing at the bottom of the stairs. Seokjin stepped out of the shadows, clutching a pillow in his hands.
“I was thinking. Can’t sleep?”
“Namjoon snores really loudly,” he complained. It made me laugh. The three of them were always attached to the hip, I had wondered if it was because they were uncomfortable here.
“You know we have plenty of spare bedrooms, you can take any of them.”
“Why are you here?”
“I can’t sleep.” I shrugged. Seokjin nodded understandingly, but he didn’t move an inch. “Do you want to sleep on the couch?”
He hesitated, looking as if he was unsure if he should accept my offer before he murmured, “can I?”
“Of course! But I think, a bed would be more comfortable,” I said, moving from the couch to the armchair. Seokjin sat down on the couch, placing his pillow near him.
“Why can’t you sleep? Is it because of what Jimin said?” he asked cautiously, ears erect and attentive.
“I have insomnia.” I shrugged, but Seokjin kept staring at me. I squirmed under his piercing gaze;  staring at me like he could see right through my bullshit. “I didn’t have a good relationship with Clair. She raised me, but she was cruel, unkind. I just… can’t fathom her as someone nice.”
“So it had nothing to do with Jimin being a prostitute?” he asked suspiciously.
“WAIT! Is that what you guys thought? Oh my god, I would never…” I was shocked. No wonder the hybrids were avoiding me like the plague. “I’m really sorry, if it seemed that way but it's not like that. I’m really happy that Clair rescued him. He deserves a good home, a family. I don’t think you’d believe me, even if I told you what my aunt was like. I’m really sorry, if I hurt you guys. But believe me when I say that this is not a place where you’ll be judged for your past.”
“You mean that.” It was a statement, not a question.
“I do.”
“You could sleep on the couch with me?” Seokjin offered sheepishly, ears turning the color of strawberries. I was surprised to see him be so direct. He had been very reserved around me till now, only talking when necessary.
“Are you sure? Won’t you be uncomfortable?” I asked, eyeing the couch. It was big enough to seat five people comfortably, but Seokjin was big too.
He nodded. “I’ll be fine.”
Seokjin adjusted the pillow and laid down on the sofa, leaving room for me. I stood there with my hello kitty blanket, wondering if it was okay. The sudden change in the hybrid’s demeanor was unexpected and I gave up trying to dissect the situation. I had to admit, I was feeling a bit cuddly since the loss of my penguin and I desperately needed sleep. I scooched on the sofa, covering both of us with the blanket, resting my head on his arm.
“You’re not okay,” he murmured, wrapping his other arm around my waist, his tail curling around my thigh.
“I just need some sleep,” I sighed. Seokjin was like a furnace behind me. I wondered why all hybrids were this warm.
“Lies,” he said as he lightly nibbled on my ear. I gasped at the unexpected contact, my heart beating so loudly in my chest that I was sure he could hear it.
“I thought you didn’t like me,” my voice came out breathier than I had intended.
“I do, I just didn’t know how to approach you. You seem so independent, I didn’t know where I could fit in your life. The only thing I could do for Clair was look pretty. But this.... this I can do, I can comfort you. I want to be useful.”
I turned around to look at him. “Oh honey, you don’t have to be useful. You’re you and that’s enough for me. I just want you to be happy.” I lightly kissed his cheek.
“I’m going to be your comfort blanket,” Seokjin said with a smile and hugged me closer.

My turn! 4, 6, 9, 15, 18, 24
THANKS!!! :D
4. total number of words you wrote this year Oh shiz... *spends ten minutes checking my too many Google Docs* Idk how to say exactly, but my docs say roughly 394,984 words. XD (The longest is technically ‘My Day So Far~’ at 38,668 words, since I started the Mad Ducktor Thingie in 2020)
6. least popular fic this year In kudos, 'Drift Away' (only 4.... DX), and in hits, 'Have It All', with 70.
9. longest wip of the year OMGGGG UM It's 'I Told You I'd Come Back', at 4,459. This one is a Negaverse story, that I'll probably finish if whenever I put up my Negaverse stories XD
15. something you learned this year Hmm... Idk if I can name anything specific I learned about writing (it’s just slowly evolved as I’ve gotten better), BUT I did learn through all of your comments Shychick how to leave actual reviews. XD I had a whole class on how to critique things and learned absolutely nothing, and then through getting all of your comments it honestly really showed me how. XD XD <3
18. current number of wips Oh shoot... They've all mostly been abandoned, but of the ones I want to finish (that have been started, anyway) there's 1. Untitled fic where Mads gets high during a raid on F.O.W.L. and spends the whole thing hilariously loopy (this has been abandoned but I'm thinking of incorporating it into a future fic) 2. Love Like You 3. Chapter 2 of 'Dangerous Chemistry of... The Mad Ducktor?!', right now it's just titled 'Some Fluffy Stuffs', and idk if I'll ever finish it 4. An untitled Fenro proposal fic 5. I Told You I'd Come Back 6. Sickfic (that's it that's the title... A future chapter of 'Mad Ducktor Fluff For Your Soul' that takes place between 'A Grudging Alliance' and 'Zero') 7. There's Something Wholesome, There's Something Sweet 8. Big White Bed (probably gonna be abandoned though...) 9. Don't Get Too Close, It's Dark Inside 10. Where's My Mind? Sooooo... rn it's ten! And those are just the ones that I've started... XD
24. favorite fic you read this year AAHH OMG HOW CAN I PICK? I’ve really really reaaaally loved almost all the fics this year, but it’s proooooobably ‘Hollow’, which really showed me that Mads could be more of a 3D character!

Business AU - Working Late, Part 5
Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sorry for the wait, I had a nightmarish week.... I won’t let this little fic die 💜 I can’t wait to write more about it, even though the chapters are hella short xD
Tumblr media
She couldn’t deny the butterflies in her stomach. That evening with Donnie have had that je-ne-sais-quoi that made her smile mindlessly whenever she’d think about it. It’s been a while since she last felt like that...
On Thursday they barely had time to have any conversation, only to have their next interaction postponed to Friday - a single day without talking to him almost feeling like an entire week... Vee was going on and about from one corner of the office to the other, handing a pile of documents to various departments, until she passed before Donnie’s office. The door was wide open, giving him a chance to see her walk by. His reaction had been almost immediate, jumping on his feet and going straight to the door frame.
“Vee!”
The woman stopped in her tracks, looking in his direction with a surprised look. They were both frozen for a moment, speech a meaningless thing right at that moment... Donnie tried to redeem himself, quickly clearing his throat and straightening his posture.
“Need help?” he asked, gesturing the documents Vee was holding.
Her lips parted in a small “o”, glancing at her burden and then back at the mutant.
“... Are you sure you want to help me with that? Don’t you have important boss things to do?”
“I’m already done for the day,” he answered instantly.
He approached Vee, lowering his voice.
“Please, I need to look busy, or else Leo will drop more work on me. I don’t want to get something dumped on me that might interfere with my other plans.”
“Which are?” asked Vee, her voice a whisper as well, entering the game.
“As soon as he’s out of here, I’m jumping back to the Lowline drawing board. He considers it low priority for now, so he doesn’t really like when I get some work done on it while we have other more urgent projects in the works.”
Vee parted her pile in two, dumping some files in his hands.
“Follow me then, boss,” she smiled with a quick wink.
As both were on the move, Donnie couldn’t help looking at the woman once more, amused as he noticed:
“Looks like we broke the curse,” he started. “We’re not wearing the same colored clothes anymore!”
Vee was wearing a black shirt that had a pattern of colorful, jungle type leaves, the bottom of it tucked in her jeans. Her relaxed look was completed by her teal hair tied up in a messy bun. Meanwhile Donnie rather simple with a white shirt, an unevenly striped black and white tie, and beige pants.
“Huh! Beige suits you,” noted Vee, observing him as well.
“Wearing those clothes can be a challenge sometimes. Pale clothes are a nightmare whenever you do anything. I’m always so scared that I’ll spill anything on them.”
“Right?!” agreed the woman. “It can be such a nightmare. Imagine white pants! I’d be so scared to sit anywhere anytime!”
Small laughters were exchanged, the duo still walking. Their task was easily embellished with small talk of various subjects, Vee’s day suddenly brigthened by Donnie’s presence. All was good and she couldn’t be ever more grateful for any seconds spent with him...
***
As the rest of the day passed, Donnie thankfully avoiding any tasks from his older brother, people were starting to leave the office, this being the duo’s cue for their project. As Vee had a better understanding of the Lowline’s needs, she was able to provide better feedback about how to approach the plans and drawings, actively pointing whenever Donnie was doing something wrong and the woman simply grabbing a pencil, adding her touch here and there. She didn’t give a second thought about standing close to the mutant, her focus primarly on the drawing. She could sense Donnie’s gaze on her though, the turtle enamored with her work. He was truly open to her comments and loved to get the conversation going about how to proceed, appreciating her knowledge. They worked well together. ... So well that they didn’t see time pass and soon it was almost past eight in the evening. Exiting the small room in which the drawing board was in, they noticed rain starting to fall outside, the mutant then offering to drive the woman back home - to Vee’s greatest relief.
New York was restless. Even in the late hours of the night, it was still booming with life in certain areas, never a dull moment to be had. Vee loved looking at all the lights coloring the streets, the slight start of rain amplifying their shimmering on the pavement like an ephemeral oil painting. The vehicle's motion was creating a kaleidoscope of colors inside the SUV, slowly fading as the pair was rolling away from the busy streets to a somewhat calmer part of town. As Donnie parked near a sidewalk, the rain amplified, the drops drumming against the car's body. He wasn't close to Vee's apartment building, so the woman knew that if she were to step outside, she'd be soaking wet in no time.
“If you don't mind,” she started, looking over to the terrapin. “Can I wait in here for little while? I'm guessing this strong pour will stop at some point, they always do....”
Donnie gently smiled.
“They do indeed, and I don't mind at all,” he answered.
They paused, listening to the rain. This comfortable silence allowed Donnie to gather his thoughts, finally speaking up after a while:
“… It's rather nice, don't you think?”
“The ambient sound?” questionned Vee.
Donnie conceeded, while also adding: “Sure, it's calming. … But I just kept thinking; it's also nice to be here with you. It's nice that we seem to get along so well...”
Vee was suddenly speechless, her heart thundering in her ears. She tried to boot her thoughts back to her brain, tucking some strands of hair away.
“I- … yeah. It's nice.”
She felt his hand hold her left one, his touch soft as he brushed his thumb on her skin. “… I'm sorry, I'm making you uncomfortable,” he said.
“No!” reassured Vee. “No please, I... I simply wonder if this is right?”
She had said that last part with uncertainty, afraid she'd say something wrong.
"And what is 'this'?” questionned the terrapin, remaining calm.
Vee threw him an unimpressed look, getting a chuckle out of the male in return.
“Don't play this game with me, Donnie,” she said. “We're adults. I know flirting when I see it. … I just don't want it to be ill-intentioned on your part.”
His eyes grew wide, a slight distress felt in the air.
“I would never!” he added. “… To be frank, I'm not really used to flirting, so I'm sorry if I'm giving weird vibes.”
“Are you kidding?” lightly laughed Vee. “You make me blush so often, it might become permanent at some point.”
She brought her other hand to his, now properly holding him, simply to bring weight to her words:
“You've made me feel alive ever since we properly met... I simply feel happy, but considering our positions at work, that's why I'm asking if this is right? … I wouldn't want to dive too deep into this simply to drown...”
“People may say what they want, but I think as long as we remain professional, there's no harm?”
Their eyes met, trying to guess the right answer through unspoken words. As the rain was still gaining in strength, the loud pitter-patter seemed to break any barriers, Donnie gaining further courage to speak again:
“You're a beautiful and interesting woman, Vee. Just thinking about you makes me feel warm and I can't stop smiling... I realize that's a bit bold to lay out, but just as you said: we're adults. And I don't see why I should hide the fact that you're bringing me joy lately.”
Vee felt her heart melt, her hands slightly squeezing his. A faint sigh left her as she attempted to cling to reason:
“Let us see where things go from now on. … I think we need to rest our heads on this before anything else. … I appreciate you a lot, Donnie, I do. But right now we need to learn how to walk together before we sprint to any outcome.”
“I agree,” smiled the turtle. ‘’There’s no rush indeed. ... I like any moments spent with you.”
This moment felt so surreal all of a sudden. To openly express such feelings out in the open indeed was bold, from both of them, but it just felt so right. As a sign of fate, the rain was calming down, thus being the cue for Vee to head out and get home.  She wanted to stay here. She wanted to feel his presence and hear more about how he felt, but at the same time she wanted to stay true to her words.
“Well ... I guess this is time for me to go,” she said.
“Are you busy tomorrow night?”
That question surprised her at first.
“What now, I have to lay out my entire schedule to you?” she joked.
“Not really,” grinned Donnie. “But how about a date? That way we shall see how things unfold from now on.”
That caught her slightly off guard, but knowing she had thrown somehow the idea on their last evening out, she knew it was bound to happen.
“How could I ever decline?” she said, smiling. “... I’d like that very much.”
Donnie brought one of her hands up, leaving a soft kiss on top of it.
“Then you make me a very happy man.”

Having coming across your Paz fic in the tumblr tags, I am now very curious to see where your story goes! xD Holy yikes at the Armorer's test in the third chapter, but also -- fellow yarncrafter! <3 Do you think Reader has shown Paz how the spindle works yet? He didn't seem to be getting it from the explanations. xD Also, I wonder what Paz's reaction would be to a reader who also keeps a first aid kit in their bag? Or what he'd make of knitting? xD (Armorer: 'I know of such things. =)' )
Dear sweet Anon!
This is my first ask ever about my fic!! I am dumbfounded and delighted (and slightly panicking ;) ) xD Thank you so much for dropping by 💕💕💕
To answer your questions:
Reader does show Paz how the spindle works! I wanted to write this into the chapter where she shows him the fluff, but then I forgot and THEN Paz was out of the room! 🙈🙈🙈 So, I’m not sure how this will work out now, maybe I’ll write a chapter that goes between what’s now chapters 8 and 9, hoping it won’t confuse everybody too much o_O
As for a first aid kit in Reader’s bag: I think Paz would be surprised at first and then appreciative. Being prepared is always good.
Maybe I’ll retcon some bandaids into Reader’s bag? you know, one of these slim cardboard sleeves that hold, like, 6 bandaids or so? She’s definitely the type to cut her finger on a regular basis, now that I think of it xD
Also, I’m more of a crocheter, so that will definitely come up at some point. I’m not a big planner, as you may have noticed, but I do have some stuff that WILL be in there, whenever they fit. And crochet is definitely one of them 💕
However, knitting would be really, really cool actually because knitting needles are much more potential stabby-stab-stab weapons than crochet hooks, and I would LOVE to read a fic with a knitter!reader using their needles in a bloody manner and saving the day!!
(Also, on a different note, but fitting the subject – have you heard about the techbros that bought the url knitting.com and how they are now being picked apart by the knitting community? xD)
(Also, also: what’s your prefered craft? Wanna share what you are working on atm?)
Once again, thank you for dropping by and making me think about these aspects! Hope the week gives you lots of time to craft ^_^

For the book asks: 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 16, 22, 23, 27, 28, 33, 40, 43, 47? Thank you in advance, Books. ;)
1. What book did you last read??
"Senlin Ascends" by Josiah Bancroft. I just finished it today and there is a short review here. It turned out better than what it seemed at first, but I still don't like the mc much.
3. Do you read books just because you saw them on tumblr??
Pff no. I seldom see any on my dash that I haven't heard about before. I think booktube is the worst for me in this aspect because people are there making videos and keep selling me on stuff I never thought about reading and then I regret it.
6. Can you ever stop in the middle of a page or do you have to finish the page or chapter first??
I can. I have to. As someone that reads slowly and anywhere at any time I need to stop whenever there is a need to do something else. If I am not interrupted and the chapters are not that long I like to finish them though.
8. Do you lend your books out to friends??
Yes, if I trust them enough. Right now a friend has my copy of "Assassin's Quest" by Robin Hobb and another has "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid. However, I have a back up illustrated edition of AQ and I am dreading having to let someone borrow any of the other RotE books just because I love them so much. I know it's a material thing, but I fear I will not be able to replace the books if something happens and I love them so much they are almost a part of me and I am ridiculously worried about that. That is because sometimes when I let people borrow books they come back with a bit of wear which I don't mind as long as it's not too much because I do it myself since I carry books everywhere. But sometimes I fear that they will come too damaged and it's worrying if it's one of my most favourites, you know?
9. How do you find the Booklr community??
By using the search bar? Is there even a booklr community? XD I know a total of 2 people that have specifically book blogs but most people just reblog and post whatever and it doesn't have to be books... I don't know. I have no opinion on this. If anyone wants to recommend me good book blogs around here feel free to do so.
16. What book has been on you TBR pile the longest??
This question was made to shame me. I am not sure. There are some books I bought when I was studying at the university and so far I haven't read them. "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell is one of the oldest, but I still want to read it!
22. Tell us a little about your writing.
In what way? I can say I have no focus. I have been noticing that the stories I come up with are usually influenced by what I'm reading, watching or listening to and therefore I can't stick to just one. I keep having new ideas and writing a bit for one one day and a bit for another in another day. So it goes and I finish none. I hate that. Anyways, I also like to experiment with blending genres. I feel like I will never be able to write something completelly absent of fantastical elements, but a fantasy mystery or fantasy horror and stuff like that are things that cross my mind often because I like those genres too.
I am also still trying to figure out the kind of characters that I like and all the elements I need in a story in order to be able to love it because I want to implement that in my writing. If I don't love what I come up with I will never finish it or tolerate it enough in order to reread and edit it.
23. How did you get into reading??
I think I answered something like this before... I started reading very early on. I knew how to read before starting primary school and I used and abused my library card when I got one in 1st grade. I was the kid that took a book everywhere, including family gatherings. There was a moment during high school where I didn't read much, but of course I came back to it when I started working after I got out of high school. Reading is in my blood and so is fantasy because my first stories were in that genre. A lot of fairy tales and similar stuff got me into reading as a child. That is also part of why Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen is the only portuguese writer I like so far. She wrote some fairy tale-like children's stories and I read them all at some point and I enjoyed most of them.
27. Name a book that you own starting with (Pick a letter). Have you read it?? Did you like it?? If you haven’t read it, are you looking forwards to it.
You forgot to give me a letter so... I can't help you XD
28. First book that comes to mind, tell us about it. Rant
You know if you say rant I instantly remember "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. I am still so disapointed and mad. I will never be ok. People keep putting that book in the same sentence as Farseer by Robin Hobb and comparing them and I honestly think of murder everytime that happens. It would be lovely if people stopped doing that. One is a masterpiece with a beautifully written world, great themes, amazing complex characters, lgbt+ representation and excelent female characters. The other is smut disguised as fantasy written by a cis white man and it shows. It shows a lot!
If you like this book stop now. I am not going to be nice.
I am always surprised by how many people think this is a high quality book. Some of them woke up from that fever dream and the drugs stopped having an effect after the long fairy sex scenes in the 2nd book, but some people are still into it. Look, I have no problem if you like trashy books as long as you admit that is what it is. The amount of dudebros defending this series and complaining about fairy sex Sarah J. Maas' books in the same breath is fascinating (not in a good way). It is literally the same thing (except that, according to one former fan that woke up, at least Maas is entertaining. I can't say how true that is because I don't enjoy reading porn. It just doesn't do anything for me).
I am convinced the fans enjoy it so much because of the things they imagine in their heads more than anything that is actually written in the book. My prediction is that if the 3rd book ever comes out it will disappoint the rest of the fans that the 2nd didn't disappoint already.
The characters are all Kvothe because this is Kvothe's narrative and he only thinks of himself. That is why they are so flat. That is why all the men cannot see a women without thinking about sex. They're all Kvothe, which I'll give is a complex character at least, but I absolutelly loathe him and everything that comes out of that mouth is tainted.
Stop saying the world building is original when it's just like any other fantasy inspired by medieval Europe. Stop saying the writing is beautiful when the man can't write women or romance. You think this -"Each woman is like an instrument, waiting to be learned, loved, and finely played, to have at last her own true music made." - is beautiful? Are you alright??? Blink if you need help.
Just never mention this book to me again. The sooner people read actual good books the better.
PLEASE STOP COMPARING THIS TO MY FAVOURITE BOOK SERIES. PLEASE!!! I beg you!
33. How do you organise your shelves??
I don't :D Right now I kept the portuguese books separated from the english ones more or less in alphabethical order by author. The nonfiction is separated from the fiction. Sometimes I change it though. Before I had the books I haven't read yet separated from those that I already read.
40. How do you feel when you find a typo/spelling error in a book??
Up to 3 I ignore it. More than that and I side eye the editor and I think the author should get a new one.
43. Free rant, go ahead, we all know you want to.
I already ranted about “The Name of the Wind”. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME???
Well, I’m going to go into generalisations now I guess.
Why are the most popular adult fantasy books being hyped up written by cis white men? Other people are writing books too and have been for years, but here I am finding Patricia McKillip only in 2021. Shame on you all!
Why are people so against critics of their favourite books? Why do people refuse to see flaws in their favourite books? This just in: you can see the flaws, recognize them and still enjoy the story. All is well as long as you are not advertising it as the best book of all time and flawless (Rothfuss and Sanderson fans).
We would be here the entire night. I have lots of book community related complains that no one cares about because people are not really interested in learning and branching out. That is why the most popular books have a similar story as many others, but given different names and a little bit of a make over. I also blame the publishers that insist on publishing the same thing because it sells instead of focusing on more creative works. Fantasy is getting a little better nowadays, but damn thrillers are all the same with a different cover.
47. How many books do you take when you go out??
Only 1 unless it’s too short or I am almost finishing it. If so, I also take my kobo fully charged. The kobo is really helpful in this situation because if all goes well I will never be out of books to read while I’m out.

Tag for Fanfic Writers
(this was supposed to be an Ask Game, but I don’t have the patience to sit and wait for someone to interact/write me one of 50 questions to my inbox. So I’ll just answer them myself LOL)
1. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently only for BTS
2. What pairings do you write for?
Jikook, Yoonmin, VMin & VMINKOOK.
3. What is your most popular fanfic?
“Lunatic High” for some reason... its a fantasy au. Has to do with a war that broke out following the assassination of the Emperor, where humans began hunting werewolves after accusing them of conspiring against the monarchy. So you have Taehyung, Namjoon, Hoseok and Jeongguk as survivors of this war and living as bounty hunters, but one day when Taehyung falls gravely ill and no remedy can cure his disease. The four of them have to journey south where a surviving pack of werewolves live and may be the only ones who can save him. But it is Taehyung himself who holds the biggest secret of them all.
I haven’t updated it in two years and it only needs the final chapter TT
4. Do you write original stories as well?
I used to have this one original story that I spent MANY years plotting and finally began writing in 2009, but after I reached the 32th chapter I left it on permanent Hiatus.
5. What fanfic of yours should everyone have read?
I would like to recommend “All or Nothing”, “Yoongi’s Confession” and “Forever You Said”.
6. What is a fandom you will never write for?
NEVER AGAIN for Death Note that fandom was hella toxic back in the day. I also wouldn’t write for Dragon Ball z (and all the versions of it) I just can’t envision the ships correctly XD
7. What is a ship you will never write for?
Tae//kook sorry no offense to the members themselves... but their crazy, toxic, obsessed fans made me hate the ship. Also the fics I’ve read of this ship are just as toxic and Jimin is always somehow hurt in them. So NOPE. The only way I would come close to writing anything with them is if it involves VMINKOOK as end game.
8. Archive of Our Own, FanFiction.net, Wattpad, Tumblr, etc. which platform do you prefer?
Archive of Our Own all the way. I used to have a FF.net account many years ago but never really uploaded anything to it. Never did liked wattpad’s format and Tumblr isn’t exactly a practical place to read fics plus you have to manually link chapters.
9. What are your favorite fanfics?
Oh wow I’ve read so many good ones... “Surreptitious” (by Bangtanbananas), “bitchin’ witchin’“ (by spookysuga), “forever was never till now” (by SpringonMars) and “The Devil’s Cut”
10. How do you stay motivated to finish what you’ve started?
I cry on the floor, go through several breakdowns and then stare blankly at my word doc forcing my brain to work.
11. What’s your longest fanfic?
“Lunatic High” with 16-17 chapters.
12. Do you want to break your readers‘ heart or make them laugh?
Tumblr media
13. What is your planning process?
I try to write little snippets whenever they come to mind no matter what I’m doing. So I always try to keep my phone close by and my Notes ready for any plot bunny that may run by.
14. What have others criticized about your fanfic?
I’ve honestly never gotten “criticized” per say or negative comments. Though I do get that sometimes my readers can be a bit impatient 🤭 but I get that since I can be impatient too.
15. OCs or no OCs?
No OCs as main characters, only supporting if I run out of people.
16. Do you use sentence starters, writing prompts and/or fandom headcanons for your fanfics?
I try a bit of everything if it helps the ideas flow.
17. Do you use/follow advice from writing blogs/posts?
I try to, but don’t let it influence my writing too much.
18. What is your favorite writing prompt?
Strangers to Lovers, most Alternative Universes
19. Dead or overused tropes?
omg, the freaking “school sweet heart who falls in love with the asshole”, the whole “first time/loosing their virginity” trope (how many times is the same character gonna loose their V-Card in 500 universes?!), also any mafia trope.
20. Can we get a list of all of your current available fanfics?
I have like 19 of them. So I’ll just provide the link to them HERE.
21. What’s your shortest fanfic?
“You’re My Tear/You’re My Fear” (944 words) which is a song-fic with the song “TEAR” by BTS.
22. Do you listen to music during your writing process? What music do you listen to while you’re writing?
Hmm I have like 49 or 50 playlists/mixtapes. All from different genres but when I’m writing a particular story I listen to my Release Radar or New Releases and like the songs I think would fit to that story. So many of my fics have their own mixtape ^^
23.Long chapters or short chapters?
I always start a new fic thinking “this will only be a oneshot” and then chapter 2 and 3 happens...
24. How many WIPs (work-in-progress) do you’ve got?
......like 10...
25. How many WIPs will you finish?
3-4 because I finally have a solid plot for them.
26. First-person-narrative or third-person-narrative?
Both, both are good.
27. Do you take requests?
I used to when I had nothing to write about but some requests.... can be a little intimidating.
28. I will name you three things (object — scenario — fandom/ship): write a paragraph or two!
29. What’s more difficult? Fanfics or original work?
Original works.
30. What writing software do you use?
Nothing fancy, just Word Doc. & Notes.
31. Do you use beta/sensitivity readers?
No.
32. Past or present tense?
Both
33. Do friends and family know that you write fanfics?
Friends... and said friends don’t know me IRL lol
34. How did you find the magical world of fanfics?
I was 9yr and into the anime YuYu Hakusho, so I was browsing the internet for images about Kurama and Hiei cause they were my fave characters and stumbled into this blog that someone had and she had this story “Wild Winds”, I read it thinking it was some spoiler to the series and I remember that the story was kind of sad because Kurama had killed his human body and was going back to his Yohko Kurama self and Hiei held him in his arms through the process. At the end Kurama and Hiei kiss but it was out of defiance because they knew they didnt have much time left because they were found out. I legit thought this would or had happened in the series, but the author explained to me that it was made up by her and I found that so fascinating.
35. What is your favorite review?
This one is still a personal fave that I keep close to my heart:
Tumblr media
36. Did you ever delete a work of yours?
From my current fanfics? No, but I did deleted old ones from my deviantart page because years later as I grew more mature I realized how childish a lot of my writing was back then.
37. Did your work ever get plagiarized?
Ahh... that’s an old wound that’s tough to re-open. Because it didn’t happen with my fanfics but it DID happened with that original story I mentioned. And the one who plagiarized it was a long time follower of mine on DA, I even considered her a friend. She used MY story for a contest she made up at a Death Note fan club she had and never told me. I found out because another follower was a member in that club so she asked me about it. What hurt the most is that when I called her out in private and asked her to delete my story from her contest she made this post ON THE CLUB saying I was accusing her of being a disgusting thief and wanted to ruin the contest, so this ended up with her 300+ club members harassing me and sending me death threats. I think that’s one of the reasons I quit writing that story half way.
38.Do you partake in any fanfic/writing events? (Big bangs, zines, NaNoWriMo, etc?)
I’ve thought about it? But most of these contest take place on Twitter which I don’t have an account to and most of Army twitter is well... hella toxic. Especially now with fanfic writers getting harassed/bullied into deleting their accounts and called “fetishizers” by fake woke kpoppies who enjoy listening to fake moan videos and reading Y/N/self-insert fics about being r*ped by their 7 mafia husbands. 😒 (I said what I said)
39. Collaborations or working solo?
I enjoy working solo for now. I like working at my own pace.
40. Do you have any rituals before uploading a fic?
Yes! I freak out, obsessively go over each word and sentence to make sure no typos are in sight, drink two cups of black coffee, have a mental break down, get distracted by tumblr or animal videos on youtube, dissociate for half an hour and finally upload the fic at 6:00AM ^^ then have another meltdown the next day after I find ONE typo I missed 😂😂😂😂😂
41. What is something you don’t like about your writing?
That it doesn’t come out when I want/need it to or the way I have it figured out inside my head.
42. Rudest review?
lol okay so this wasn’t really a “rude” review, but there was this one girl who left very strange comments on every chapter of “Forever You Said” while talking in 3rd person. Its like she was running her own self-insert fic while reading mine. Thankfully she deleted her account.
43. Guilty pleasure tropes and scenarios?
Guilty pleasure tropes... hmm.. I’m a sucker for vampire x werewolf relationships since its considered a “forbidden love” and how they eventually work it out. Also the “Enemies to Lovers” tropes is an all time fave especially when the love happens in a way you never expected it.
44. Does fanart of your fanfic exist?
I.. as far as I’m concerned I’m the only ones who makes fanart/companion art of my fics 😅😌 I have yet to see a single fanart of any of them....
45. Do fanfics of your fanfic exist?
I don’t think so? But if there are I would like to read them! Just as long as the person didn’t do it out of spite because they didn’t like the pairing/ship I wrote about.
46. Few long essay reviews or many short reviews?
I enjoy both! But the long ones are more fun to read because you get an in depth pov of what your readers liked/disliked about the story.
47. What fanfic of yours is truly underrated?
I feel like maybe “Sin For You” underrated. Its my first vmin fic and second fic I wrote/published.
48. What is your favorite sentence that you’ve used in a fanfic?
Ah there’s SO MANY... but the ones closest to my heart are:
#01. "Someone once said that when you finally learn to love… really learn to love, you won’t need to give up on anything; Not your friends, your family or your hopes and dreams. Because Love is supposed to add up, no take away.” He drew in a shaky breath. “But if that’s true, then why are we so afraid of what we might lose?–” [Jimin to JK, “All or Nothing”]
#02. “Most fairy-tales make you believe that there is such a thing as “Forever”, but in reality kingdoms fall, buildings turn to ruble, words fade, bodies decay and turn to dust. Nothing ever lasts. Not even love.“ [Jimin, “Forever You Said”]
49. Where do you draw inspiration from?
Music mainly, especially from composers like Peter Gundry, Zack Hemsey & Adrien von Ziegler.  Secondly since I am a History & Art major I enjoy doing research about topics of my liking to incorporate in the stories (for example: I had to do A LOT of research for “Forever You Said” regarding Joseon Dynasty, how the world kept changing up until World War I & II era. )
50. Can we get a teaser for an upcoming chapter?
Sure! This is from a Yoonmin oneshot I’ve been working on:
“He hated remembering those things—those days where he could only be happy not as himself.  Not as Min Yoongi, but as Agust-D.
Agust-D who lived on the edge; where the days and nights passed between cigarette butts, cheap drinks, fast cars, running from the cops, tattered curtains in a motel room somewhere, long roads and even longer nights. Anyone brave or dumb enough to mingle in his world would either come out a stronger man or die a coward trying to run from it without realizing that it was already too late to back out. Which is why only a literal handful of individuals made it till the bitter end of the journey and lived to tell about it.  Though not without a heavy price to pay. “

Hey Simon! Thank you for the amazing ask <3 Right back at you:
I love that you're writing/arting about characters that have never met in canon (Gaige and Sasha, Fiona and Scarlett). What drew you to writing these characters together? And are there any more that you'd love to explore one day? :D
Hey Sarah, glad it made you smile. I want to have more interaction with the fandom so I’ll try to make this a regular, so please be free to send me questions whenever. I’d love to read your thoughts ;)
And Omg, that’s a fantastic question as well but, be aware, this is gonna be an essay as well.
Mhh where to start, where to start.
So first things first, My headcanon of why I think Gaige and Sasha would be best friends started a pretty long while ago, way before I even got gently pushed towards the Idea of really starting to write about it in the first place. Because you must know, even though Strays is my first longshot, it is also my very first fanfc I’ve ever written in like ever. So no matter how shitty, great or whatever it will turn out to be or how well others will be, Strays has and will always have a special place in my heart. And I’m not gonna rush things either, even when the fandom will die out, my Ideas for it will flow ;)
But yeah how it started. To put it simply Gaige was my first character In Borderlands ever that I played myself. I knew about the Lore of 1 and I’ve played 1 with a friend by the time it came out, but I played 1 myself AFTER I finished 2 So that may be a big reason, why I have such an open spot for Gaige. But also because she is fun, quirky extreme, punky, loves robots and tech... to put it simple a lot of traits I really love about a character. Her backstory with the science fair was so fresh and funny, and it may be one of my favorite spoken dialogue interactions heard over echo cassette’s
Then after Bl2 my love for Borderlands continued, played 1, played TPS and then... There was Tales, and by god do I loved Tales, and I hella still do. You probably know the feeling yourself. And with the love for the game, came a huge love for it’s cast. Like seriously I think besides Tector there isn’t really a character where I was going like, “ugh this one is trash” on the contrary. And besides my obvious love for the main 2 characters, there was a big love for the Deutagonist’s of this masterpiece. Namely Sasha and Loaderbot.
Loaderbot may have officially taken the spot for me as most favorite Robot in video game history ever (and Gortys for the most precious character ever). Like his whole segment of kidnapping them, forcing them to tell the truth, only to show how much he had grieved, how betrayed he felt and that he did all of tha  for his loved ones. Man say what you will about him, but damn he was written perfectly. I was blown away.
Secondly is of course, as you might have guessed it Sasha. I could go lengths for her too, how much I love and admire her character, how real she felt as a sister, a pandoran and last but not least as a human. Sasha felt to me like the most well rounded out character of the 6 (pls don’t hate me for it guys) From the punk rebellious attitude, to learning that she had an anti Hyperion pirate radio, that she used to broadcast bad things that happens in her neighbourhood, to her adapting her morals and learn that even in the most corrupt organisations there are still normal people struggling with their own life, and then progressing from it. And lastly after everything was at loss, the money the plan, she was willing to sacrifice her whole life for a dear friend/s, even on her dying breath putting both Rhys and her Sister at ease and in her last moments. Amazing.
Oooh boy and that was just the prelude to it all XD
After that I noticed a lot of similarities, between characters. Sasha and Loaderbot for instance are both pragmatic, put the lives of their loved ones over their own, love tech, are socially open people while holding back on information and emotion. Not to mention the scenes in 2 and 3 and also 4 and 5 where it is slightly hinted how well Sasha and Loaderbot work together, without sharing much words. So naturally the Idea was born that Sash and LB became quite close.
And the same goes for Sasha and Gaige. I was actually surprised that nobody (not entirely true, I saw one fanart of it) seemed to made that connection before as it was so obvious to me. So basically Sasha is a softer version of Gaige, in many terms. They both have a big heart for tech and especially guns. They both hosted a small radio broadcast that blew up in their region over night. Both are anarchist’s who spread the word for awareness, how fucked up the company war actually is. Both are not really good at their aim. Both call robots as their closes’t friends. Both share a deep hatred for Handsome Jack and his doings. Both fought a giant ass Vault Monster and nearly died in the process of doing so. Both got screwed up big time and now have a huge bounty on their head... So you see the list goes on, and honestly the more I write them, the more similarities I notice, both hc wise and canon wise. So there more I thought about it, and noticed similarites the more I fell in love with the Idea of them becoming close. And from there the Idea was born, that they probably met on a job ( the most likely scenario in the Borderlands universe). It had to be before BL3 of course, and to be after Tales naturally so that only put one timeline in the focus, Commander Lillith.
To be honest, I didn’t expect everything turning out so big. Like seriously I orifinally planed like 8k words or so. Now I’m dangling on the Idea of having 13 chapters and a big ass finally, a neat wrap up of everything and even a possible epilogue XD Yeah, that wasn’t what I expected either but damn do I love doing it.
Like seriously my headcanons only just gotten bigger and bigger. From a whole nebula system in the galaxy, to regions I created in my own mind for it, to even complex backstorys. Like why Sasha wears a headband, why she loves guns so much, what happened to her and Fi’s parents, why she was raised by her aunt, what does Felix have to do with it, Why Gaige has this kicks of both sudden depression and manical behavior. Why she’s so close to her dad, but her mom wasn’t even mentioned once (but teased), why she wanted to become a wedding planer, and why she is so obsessed with robots and margarita mix. I think one day, this thing will turn into a tabletop game or something XD
So estimated 20k words on my answer later and now we are going for my own created ship Scarleona. Don’t worry, as much as I like to gosh about that too, it wont take as long I prommy.
Scarleona was created in a sudden urge while thinking about what happpend to Fiona while Strays happened. And similar to Gaige and Sasha, Scarleona was born from a dynamic. Especially of those from two Ladybosses with Silvertongue and speech 100XD Fiona and Scarlett may have become my favorite Fiona ship (no offense everybody) because of how well they play off each other. Fiona is a con artist, her whole life she was used to swindle, to play it cool and by ear, go with the flow, and expect the unexpected. So here core idea is that she is manupulating people by LYING to them.
Scarlett on the other hand is similar while also the complete opposite to it. She is backstabby, plays with her charm and most importantly she is dead honest while tricking people. In fact even so honest that people don’t even realised that they got tricked even though she told it several times before. And this dynamic is so fascinating to me. You see, Fiona has almost an answer an action for everything prepared, but the idea that her winning honesty, is mind puzzling to Fiona is so perfect. @michellespenscratchz wrote me a drabble several months ago and I think that line describes it just perfect
“So, let me see if I got this straight,” Fiona tilted her head inquisitively at Captain Scarlett. “You needed these Vault Hunters’ help to find this treasure for you. So you…just asked them?”
“That’s right.” Scarlett nodded, inspecting her hook nonchalantly.
“Even though they knew you wanted it for yourself?” Fiona asked.
“Indeed,” Scarlett replied.
“And they…” Fiona blinked, “…knew you planned on fighting them for it once they had it.”
“Of course they did,” Scarlett shrugged. “I told them as much.”
“You told them?”
“Yes.”
“And they helped you anyway?”
“Precisely.” Scarlett turned her hat against the blistering wind. “I fear I don’t quite grasp what about this is so difficult to grasp, Fiona dear.”
“Huh.” Fiona cast her gaze out across the expanse of Pandoran horizon. “I guess I just gotta–I dunno–rethink my whole life right now.”
So yeah, that was basically it. I kinda diagressed and didn’t want to hurt your eyes more looking at the long ass text, but please if you have some more questions to it, pls hit me. I love to gosh about it <3
And thank you so much <3 This was hella fun

I remember I told myself drawing art even for a chapter of a story I wrote would be too much work. Bughs and I had this conversation years ago on Discord. She suggested I try to do art with my stories since I didn't want to just focus only on my stories over my art.
I told her that would be too much work. It would be exhausting... ignoring the fact that, when I was a child, I would always illustrate in the corners of my stories constantly. Hell, I would sometimes draw a picture and then write a snippet around it even if it was very out of nowhere in the grand scheme of things.
Now doing it for Demon King of the Desert, I find it really pushes me to at least draw more often then I would care to. ♥
I'm trying to love my art once more, even if the world has never cared for my art to begin with. And don't get me wrong. I've gotten over that 'why don't people love my stuff' pout faze of my life. I could care less, to be honest. ♥ If I drew something and worked hard on it, then that should be enough for me to enjoy it. I've loved watching me grow as an artist over these...geezus...30+ years? I always loved drawing when I was like 6 or so years of age, and it's never stopped. ♥
If anything, the internet kind of destroyed my love of art. I felt my numbers had to be good to prove to the world I was a good artist.
I hate that.
I miss just drawing for the fuck of it, and doing what makes me happy.
When I was in school, I'd do pencil shaded comics to try and keep myself awake when I was suffering from some illnesses we'll say. People who didn't know a damn thing about the characters I was drawing would always ask if I updated it. (They were so busy looking over my shoulder at what I was doing and giving me artist anxiety.. lol).
I go back and look at my old art and remember just having a fun time putting that down on paper, not caring to change my vision because people were anxious (X) would happen. I wasn't consumed with 'will people like it/ will it show the numbers?'
I was just focused on my happiness.
And, don't get me wrong, people have started to love my art recently, but I feel it's more because when people see the story behind the piece, they appreciate it more.
When it's not someone's OTP/ fave canon character solo, folks are less inclined to care.
There was always a trend I noted with my art and storytelling too--comics.
Whenever I would draw/write comics, people love it far more than when I just write about say my OC with a canon character. It happened before in another fandom where I wrote, not only my OC with a canon character but that canon character was very, very niche and not a lot of people knew or cared about him as he was only in the comics of this franchise--nowhere else to be found.
I had artists I admired the hell out of loving the comic when my art sucked compared to theirs. When I decided I couldn't continue because comic work was too much work? They were wishing I'd just spoil the ending since they wanted to know what would happen.
But that was my fault. Burnout.
I thought I had to produce a comic page a week, and before I knew it, that comic consumed my damn life. It became more stressful than enjoyable. If I had paced myself better, it might have been different.
Comics have really helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses.
My strengths are my storytelling, and my weakness is putting too much focus on things that don't need focus when it comes to my art.
I've been trying to tell myself 'hey, blur that thing out in the distance. Don't fully render it. It's pointless. It's not the focal point', because yes... I will fully detail a damn city in the background if I have the chance to--losing my sanity in the process. xD;
But, I want to try again. I see Bughs work on her own world and comic for the past--geezus--4 years? And, yes, she has told me in private she's getting exhausted, but she's doing her best to hold on and continue living her dream.
I think for me, I just need to try and focus on something that's not canon/OC based but OC x OC where I know my interest will remain.
My interests in characters not mine come and go like the wind.
Even Dancing with the Devil was meant to be far longer than I have mentally planned it out to be at current, but I just don't have the energy to turn that into what The Devil's Contract was.
Looking at one of my 'would be comics' page 1 and cover art... I want to take that concept and turn it into my own thing.
Comics make me draw things in different panel shapes and sizes. It forces me to draw things I wouldn't otherwise bother with.
It has helped me love my art and continue doing things I wouldn't otherwise do.
I owe the pencil shaded comics I did in my youth a LOT. They have really helped me grow. Same for doing art in a chapter or so of Demon King of the Desert. Doing this has helped me grow more as an artist, work on my backgrounds and certain action scenes.
I want to try again. I want to love my art more and not look at my canvas and dread doing anything with it.
So. Yeah. Thanks to those who do comment on the art in Demon King or like/reblog my art here. ♥ Trust me when I say, it's my own demons to get over. You shouldn't have to help me build that bridge, but I do appreciate the support all the same. ♥

Tagged by @garbria -- making me be reflective, how dare you! :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Right this moment I have 10.
2. What is your total AO3 word count?
23,192. 8,942 of which were posted this week o.o Guess I can be productive...
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Just FFXV. Unless you're counting RPs based on fandoms in which case...six? Possibly more? Fandoms make great quick-start rpgs XD
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Fifth: A tie at 13 between The Goddess' Gift and Adventures Retold: Bedtime Edition. Considering the second has only been up a couple days, we'll give it the place. You can't beat Cor and Prompto bedtime stories. Especially when they're poking fun at the OG Chocobros.
Fourth: Storm Gallows with 14. Random idea that I hadn't planned on writing but just hit me like a truck in the middle of the night. Still, it was my first Nyx fic and first of the Whumptober fics and I'm really happy how it turned out. I'll probably do more in this Wild West AU when I get the time.
Third: Winter Solstice Cocoa with 20. First day of Winter Dad!Cor Week for the prompts of winter holidays and hot chocolate. It turned out very well and I don't think I can do better for pure happy fluff.
Second: Black Knight, White Pawn with 22. Much, much whump. Nyx has a bad day--okay alot longer than a day. My mind flits from one idea or project to the next rapidly, but it's stewing over this again, so hopefully a new chapter soon.
First: Prompto's Wild Ride with 24. I'm glad this one did so well as the first idea I started working on for Whumptober and went through several versions. Cor, Prompto, and a pair of colorful chocobos.
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yep. I try to leave them whenever I can think of anything at all too. Kudos are great, but you can't beat comments for encouragement: they're special and personal.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Does an unfinished one count? If it does, Black Knight, White Pawn. The ending will, eventually, be happy, but the chapters until then...
7) Do you ever write crossovers?
Haven't in fic yet. I've combined different fandoms for the convenience of shared reference in rp games.
8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not yet. Hope I won't. There's a huge difference between constructive suggestions and hate after all.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No, but if I did, I probably wouldn't have the courage to post it, lol.
10) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of. Don't think it's likely as they haven't been up long. I am curious if there's any search programs out there to check on these things. Maybe anti-plagiarism ones.
11) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Closest thing I've come is A Song of Hearth and Home which isn't co-written but instead inspired by @ertrunkenerwassergeist's awesome fics, using her worldbuilding/history. And it's a poem/song, so not sure if that counts.
12) What’s your all-time favorite ship?
LuNyx, hands down. It's what brought me to the fandom really, especially @annaoi's wonderful art. I also like Crowna (Crowe/Luna). Promptis has grown on me as well.
13) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
FFXV. It's what brought me back to fandom after something like a decade and a half. Not that I wrote back then, but I did read.
14) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Oof...uh...that is a really good question? Probably Black Knight, White Pawn or Storm Gallows just because they were fun to write and I got to try out some things with them. Tags...umm...@awlwren if you want to, no pressure
