Hey, sorry if this is intruding or anything, but I couldn’t ever figure out if inimitable is done or just on hiatus? Do you ever plan to go back to it? Everything you write means a lot to me, and you’ll still be one of my favorite writers no matter what the answer is :)

GREAT question. I wish I had a good answer for you.

I’ve sort of reached the point in my life (my 30s) where I’ve accepted the beauty of a lack of an ending. While I haven’t worked on Inimitable for a while now, what with having hopped over the fandom fence into Star Wars territory, I don’t want to close or end it in case that changes, especially with the new movie coming out and all.

I was just wondering the other day how Tats and Co will change in my slightly more developed style. I wonder what will be important to them. I wonder if I will have the interest or ability to write it.

So I’ll leave the series open until I feel totally and truly done with it, which I know can be confusing to readers who see that a fic or series hasn’t been updated in a year and is still marked as incomplete. So my advice to those folks who find that frustrating is to embrace the humanity of your fic writers ❤️

I’m a multiple paragraphs/novella style writer. I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. Not every reply has to be novella length, however. If there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going.

I only do MxF (with me writing the female role). I don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I only want female authors writing male characters as I’ve had bad experiences with cis male authors. (Trans men and nonbinary pals are exceptions).

I'm really hoping to find a friendship, someone who can add to our story, and most importantly, someone who wants a long-term connection. It's difficult for me to write with someone if I don't feel that genuine bond. It's also important to me to have a high level of activity, with at least one reply a day.

If you suddenly stop replying ic and ooc, I'll drop the story after 2 attempts of gauging interest spaced a week apart. But feel free to message me if you want to pick the story back up again, even months later.

Plot before smut. While mature themes will be in my writing, there needs to be chemistry between our characters. I normally do a 60/40 plot to smut ratio and my characters tend to be subs/switches depending on the circumstances

An older male character (early forties to mid-late fifties). I love the gruff and tough men with dark pasts who secretly have a soft heart. I also love grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by sweet but fiery women. My characters are mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties so the age gap is legal.

Enthusiasm to chat about our character and ship, how to crush them and then gushing over fluffy moments. I love crying over characters and what the heck they’re doing. I want my heart ripped from my chest from angst, then feeling like it’s going to burst from overwhelming cuteness. I want us to love these characters and the world we create. I want to make pinterest boards, spotify playlists, graphics, and toss headcanons back and forth until late at night.

Have an idea for a scene? Found a picture that inspired you? Send it to me! Be invested when it comes to plotting/worldbuilding. There’s nothing worse than receiving one sentence in reply to two paragraphs of ideas, or having a doormat partner who says “sure” to whatever I ask. Building ideas one on top of the other, watching them snowball into amazing plot threads brings me joy. But having to pull plot ideas like I’m pulling teeth makes me think you’re not interested, and I will lose interest in return.

1. Bioshock: Mark Meltzer

This man is the subject of my very first post on tumblr, he must be included here, I adore this sad fuck.

2. Homestuck: Diamonds Droog

A toss up between him and Slick. I was and am a Homestuck Intermission girlie and this must be acknowledged.

3. Dragon Age: Justice

I have many many Dragon Age faves and DAO and also Awakening is so so important to me, but Jorstin here is the fellow I have the most distinct and personal opinions about and is, aside from OCs like my Brosca Warden, Avi, the only one I have a strong rp/fic voice for. He’s such a weird and cool dude!

4. DC Comics/Animated Universe: Martian Manhunter/ J’onn J’onzz

My BOY. I love him most in the VERY specific comic pictured above (1988 miniseries that establishes the Martian gods as being flaming horrorterrors, as we see in Sandman w/L’zoril Dream, it’s GOOD SHIT)—but also in general. Criminally under rated and under represented. A sad fuck, a shape shifting horror, a stranger in a strange land, a bereaved parent, Doing His Goddamn Best. AND sometimes a noir detective send up.

Anyway, speaking of comics.

5. Sandman: Dream of the Endless

I am thrilled to be here in the year of our lord 2024 enthusing about and making friends over this scrunkly wet cat that I first encountered and dearly loved in high school. (I am more than halfway through my 30’s now, so it has been A WHILE). I’m counting Sandman and DC as separate affairs, sorry not sorry.

6. Our Flag Means Death: Izzy Hands

Loved him even before S2, fascinated, I want to put him in a jar and shake him but also keep him safe forever. I am a little soured on the show after s2, but I have dressed up as Izzy and would gladly do so again so he belongs here.

7. Supergiant Hades: Achilles

This SPECIFIC version of Achilles, who has died and continued growing through his pain and regrets and who is a surrogate parent to my BOI Zagreus, is. Fascinating. To me. I was so angry at first to find myself liking him as much as I did! It’s masterful how much characterization Supergiant implies with relatively little. He’s coming after Izzy on the list bc I came to them both in similar ways, looking at myself falling in love and going oh my god HIM? Seriously? And being like yup that war criminal there is my son now!!! (And now of course I’m fond of him all across the mythological/classical board, oh my god Hadesgame what have you done.)

8. Star Wars: Alexsandr Kallus

The only space nazi redemption arc I will accept. (Although I am watching Andor with friends right now and three double agent gingers across the begins to suggest a pattern which is very entertaining to me.)

Anyway A+ arc, love this bastard man, love his giant cat husband, single-handedly keeping me invested in Star Wars, hope his gay happy ending never gets messed with.

9. Les Miserables: Inspector Javert

Another character that I went oh my god REALLY??? That Guy??? About. But he’s so /funny/ in the Brick and Stars is lovely enough that I learned how to play barre chords on my guitar Just For That and look. Look. He is a bastard but he is MY bastard and I will read every redeemed!Javert fic that crosses my path forever the end. (Also a side note: Kallus was originally sold to me by @lokivangelist as “space Javert”)

10. The Witcher: Dandelion/Jaskier (all versions, but repping Hexer below because that’s my favorite!!!)

Throwing a curveball for the last slot! I’ve got a sad dad/monochrome aesthetic/loyal right hand/shapeshifting nonhuman/rigid worldview kinda pattern happening above, and my boi here slip slides away from almost all of those. Except for the loyalty. This man is an absolute ride or die for Geralt and I love that about him. He is also an obnoxious fuckboi but I love that too, especially in a story as heavy as the Witcher frequently can be. (My runner up for this fandom was gonna be book!Lambert, who is similarly narratively savvy and good at puncturing the heaviness of a scene without being straight up comic relief.)

I’m a multiple paragraphs/novella style writer. I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. Not every reply has to be novella length, however. If there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going.

I only do MxF (with me writing the female role). I don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I only want female authors writing male characters as I’ve had bad experiences with cis male authors. (Trans men and nonbinary pals are exceptions).

I'm really hoping to find a friendship, someone who can add to our story, and most importantly, someone who wants a long-term connection. It's difficult for me to write with someone if I don't feel that genuine bond. It's also important to me to have a high level of activity, with at least one reply a day.

If you suddenly stop replying ic and ooc, I'll drop the story after 2 attempts of gauging interest spaced a week apart. But feel free to message me if you want to pick the story back up again, even months later.

I also love grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by sweet but fiery women. My characters are mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties so the age gap is legal.

//Dumb Personal Rant

I’ve fallen out of love with Star Wars.

This has happened at least five times in the past, so I wouldn’t worry. It was my first ever brain rot, and it will likely be my last.

My private story has been named “Lux Bonteri’s Divorce Trial” for over a year now, and I just changed it. I had purchased tattoo rights for a Cal Kestis tattoo, and now I will not be getting it. I just peeled every Bo-Katan sticker off my laptop. I might liquify the savings I was making for celebration.

I’m just sad honestly. I remember in May 2022 being so excited that I literally watched the celebration live stream all the way through. I probably bought 30+ Star Wars books. I stayed up so many nights to watch the shows premiering at 2am. I got to see ROTJ in theaters.

So, why? I feel like that’s a complicated question with so many answers. I think the main one can be answered by going to YouTube and looking for what YourMovieSucksDotorg posted on April 24, 2022. (Great video essay btw).

ANYWAY! I am informing y’all of this because if for some reason if I never fall back in love with Star Wars, I have a plethora of Obitine, erm, content that I haven’t posted that I wrote quite literally at the start of my brainrot. Is it very good? No lmfao. I actually didn’t post it because my ex-situationship thought it was bad (he goes to an Ivy League school so I trusted his judgement but idk maybe he’s wrong). So, yeah, if I never return to SW feel free to yell at me to post it.

Man on the Moon readers: This post does not apply to y’all. I will never stop writing Man on the Moon. I could get hit by a BUS, break all of my limbs, only be able to type with one hand, and I would STILL keep writing MotM. I will go write MotM after I post THIS. Shoutout to whoever conjured up the Foxiyo fandom y’all survived my breakup with Star Wars.

How old is Shego?

I’ve heard different things through the years, the Bible says she was supposed to be on her early twenties, in an interview way back in the day it was said she was in her middle/late twenties, Stephen silver says he thinks she is in her 30s and Bob Schooley said in a recent AMA that she was in her late twenties.

The fact she has a fully credential teaching degree points out to her being at least in her Mid twenties, but is the world of Kp where a genius kid graduated college (Wade). So, how old do you think she truly is?

there was a recent post on this topic by @coolcollectorofobservations that was pretty good.

and I've linked to my own post about this many times and they do as well, so I won't link it again.

what I will say however, what I just noticed from your ask...is we all tend to pick and choose what sources we decide to believe on various topics. and this is common in all of fandom, anywhere, not just here in KP land. if we like something we see somewhere, like the series bible, we'll decide to accept it. if we don't like it, we reject it. I used to be an utter stickler for...if it's onscreen, it's canon, and you can't reject it. of course, I break my own rule by refusing to watch Star Trek Generations. (if I don't see Kirk die, he didn't die! I refuse!)

but, some parameters here... if it's onscreen...it's canon. that's the basis I'm going to work from. how fans interpret what's onscreen is up to them. for the sake of this post, I'm going to ignore any of my own...so-and-so said such-and-such in this obscure convention interview, opinions. those aren't canon. plus, we've gotten so many mixed reports from the creators themselves who honestly don't seem to care. on the surface, they seem to have bigger passions than the type of deep fandom experience that people who are into Star Wars for example get into, and we get the same type of passion back from Dave Filoni and others.

all that said.... the only examples we get onscreen?

"Luckily I have my degree in child development to fall back on." Ron: "Then the teaching thing?" "Oh, fully credentialed."

also Ron's claim in Clean Slate that she's a "lot older" and Shego's protesting she likes the sun.

the only real evidence we can go on is that credential and college degree. and we have to make some assumptions here. we have to assume this is the USA (easy). we have to assume she progressed through primary/secondary school at a typical pace (easy enough). we have to assume Shego completed her bachelor's degree in four years (also pretty easy - if she was busy with hero work then she could have done her degree in longer than four years, but that goes more toward headcanon assumptions).

to get a teaching credential (more commonly called a certificate nowadays, but called a credential when KP was airing) you must complete at least one year of student teaching/relevant graduate-level classes. also, to keep your credential you have to complete a certain number of years of teaching, being professionally evaluated, and then depending on the school district/state you're in...then it's considered cleared and you don't have to renew for a number of years. but you do have to be actively teaching to keep your credential valid after said period of years expires. this fact lends us to a Shego somewhere in her twenties.

it's starting to get messy. some places allow just anybody to be a substitute. some places require a college degree. some places require a degree and a teaching certificate, just to be a sub. if we look at what was common during the time period KP aired and the decade-ish prior to that, the likely times she would have been getting that credential... we are looking at at least two years after her student teaching year that she was actively in school teaching. at least two years.

okayyy I'm linking it again, read this post for more detail about the credential process, etc.

we also have to remember...to be a sub, she'd have to be fingerprinted. which won't work for a criminal. so, based SOLELY on the canon and agreeable real-world facts, and not headcanon extrapolation or extra-canon comments and rhetoric, we're left with a couple of options.

either she is in fact credentialed, or she's lying. if she IS credentialed, to have completed all the requirements to get one, the absolute bare minimum age she could be in season one is 25. if she somehow finagled her way into that sub position through a bunch of very quick deceit, forgeries, fake fingerprints...that would be impressive. I favor her statement that she is credentialed, but folks are free to headcanon what they wish. I also favor a headcanon that it took her longer to get through school because she was busy with hero-work.

so the long and short of it.... assuming she is telling the truth, which she likely would be under the effects of the reverse polarizer... assuming a typical timeline for her education... bare minimum season 1 age of 25, if we are shooting for youngest possible age. oldest possible can't possibly be determined. personally i think she's late twenties, but that's including headcanon ideas.

I just want to shout out autistic joy for a minute!

(This is a massive RANT about my shit day) TW: period blood mentions, period stuff in general, also a really bad day

Today has been the day from hell for me today. From no sleep, to me realizing I missed my bc pill because I stayed having my super heavy period. But as someone who never has a period* I moved into my dorm a week ago and did not bring any period products with me. So I sat through my entire day running back and forth to my dorm to change out my bounty kitchen paper towels that did nothing. One of said classes was Attic Greek. In our third class I spent most of it blinking back tears of anxiety from how much I am NOT getting it. (Like alphabet and all is a struggle and it’s very fast paced). Then my friend and I were excited that our dining hall finally had pizza but they had just closed the station when we got there (I could do a whole post about my college*) then I go to let my friend scan my textbook bc I’m not going to make her buy it for the same class. But it was an hour of figuring out the yearly new printing system. And then I went to Walmart to get my shit but I got lost and did an illegal turn that got me pulled over for the first time ever. (Thank god I’m a little white girl I can’t imagine how scary it is to not be white and pulled over). Then I’m walking through Walmart with tears on my face and a massive thing of pads and chocolate in my hands.

But as soon as I got to take a breather for the night and I got on tumblr I was instantly feeling better! As a person in the Star Wars (specifically Ahsoka & rebels) fandom I was able to just get so much joy out of the posts I see here.

If this makes no sense I’m sorry but I’m exhausted and I’ve tried to write this so many times but I just love the fact that my day can be significantly brightened by my special interest.

Anyways sorry for whatever this is.

*The pill I take does not have the sugar pill week. It just doesn’t give me periods (AMAZING!!) (it is less effective but I’m aroace so I just take it bc periods are an inconvenience) I only get my period if I really fuck up they cycle which I must have today

*we have a very serious bat problem in all of the dorms (over 30 bites last year), the brand new dining hall is a disaster on every level (it’s common for students to be diagnosed with ed’s because of how little is available health wise), the obvious campus giving out too many parking passes issue, elevators being out of order for so long that disabled students just don’t have access to classrooms
