Yeah no I'm still not over Kohane's fes card.
Soooo... That side story huh. The "fragment of a feeling" Kohane touches taking her to Vivid Street. The townsfolk all calling her An. Kohane trying to imitate An. Kohane who has been in Vivid Street for only a short period of time but has come to love it anyway. The townspeople calling her by her partner's name.
I could make a whole separate rant about how Kohane being linked to Nagi at the end of Kick It Up A Notch makes me feel. It doesn't feel fair for her. She has grown so much in a short period of time and yet when her talent reaches it's highest point she isn't just Kohane, she is like someone who has been dead for years. Even her partner can only think of Nagi looking at her.
The fragment sekai is a mix of Kohane's memories of places she has been since Vivid Bad Squad formed all collected in a gallery of shattered glass. Kohane loves Vivid Street yet every time she is likened to someone else. She sings like Nagi. She is An's partner. In a way it brings back to RAD Weekend. The idea that to surpass it they need to be just like it. They can't achieve that because RAD Weekend was the celebration of Nagi's life. Kohane can sing like Nagi but she can never become her, and I fear that, subconsciously, that's what certain people (Taiga) were hoping she would be. (He saw Nagi in her. He saw his dead sister. He still hasn't been able to fully move on.)
Then there's An. Her partner has become what she has aimed for her entire life. To be someone like Nagi, to be like her mentor. Vivid Street called Kohane by An's name. Does that mean they replaced An, or does it mean they can only think of An when they see her?
Kohane Azusawa went looking for a purpose in life. She found it, a group of street musicians with a shared goal. She loves it, yet the world only ever sees her as a distant memory. Someone who won't ever return.
(And something just hit me. Kohane is the only character without a proper backstory. We just had an entire event to go through the lead up to RAD Weekend which gave us a clear view of Nagi. An starts off VBS's main story yet Kohane is the "main character". They set this up right from the start I need to find colourful palette and fight them.)

Everyone in VBS is almost immediately drawn to your motherly attitude, you were just so sweet to them!
It gets to the point where even the Virtual Singers hear about how amazing and sweet you are, they all just adore you so much <3
Your support and kindness will definitely draw many emotions out of Kohane. She's both very confident with your support and very shy receiving it
You're probably one of the only people to see An's more insecure side, because she feels comfortable enough to ramble to you due to how kind you are about it
Akito will definitely love to joke around with you and shrug off your motherly statements, but he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it when you dote on him
The person who will literally melt from your motherly demeanor will be Toya. He's not used to it, and he finds himself looking out for you and your support all of the time
They all get used to just asking you for things from your bag, because they know 99.99% of the time you'll have what they need
They will all light up if you come visit during a practice, and An is quick to whip up some food and drinks for you
One of the biggest jokes with Akito and An in particular is that they threaten to "tell mom" if the other did something wrong. Their faces will drop so quickly
This joke does spread to Toya and Kohane, although they don't use it as much. You can walk into the room to find them all trying to hush each other
Overall, they absolutely adore you, and they will always try their best to return your efforts tenfold <3

Hello, I just came across your blog and I love your work!
So I had this idea for a little while now.. There is this criminal minds audio right now that’s trending; it goes like “How old are you? 29? I’m 30. - We missed your birthday? Why didn’t you tell us?” So I was wondering if you could write an Akito x reader for that scenario. The reader turned sixteen/seventeen and akito & the rest of vbs didn’t know.
Anyway, sorry if it seems confusing, and have fun!

❥ AKITO SHINONOME x Reader: Sixteen
ft. Toya, An, and Kohane / Vivid BAD SQUAD
You had been dating Akito for a while now. After being close friends since elementary school, it was only a matter of time before romantic feelings were felt for the other.
The both of you almost knew everything about the other, schedules, practice dates, birthdays, and so much more.
Whenever Akito had a performance coming up, he tended to forget alot of important dates, but out of all dates he could've forgotten, why this one?

It was a little hard for Akito to explain to you VBS' 'sekai'. A world created by feelings? A world with pieces of all 4 of you connected? What do you mean virtual singers can be found there?
Once you finally were able to put atleast some of what he was saying together ( you have no clue what's going on ), he asked if you'd like to visit.
Today is that day.
"You ready, [Name]? It's a little confusing when you first go, but I promise you'll like it" Akito shot you an awkward smile. You responded with a quiet chuckle and said "Im ready! I can't wait to meet Hatsune Miku and Ka..Kaga.."
"Kagamine Rin and Len."
"Thats what I said. I am really excited to meet all of them either way. Let's go!"
Akito double-clicked on a computer file, and the room flashed white. You closed your eyes instinctively and you soon felt so light. When you opened your eyes, you saw a beautiful café, a short haired brunette, and the rest of Vivid Bad Squad sitting and talking with her.
She turned to look at you and Akito, and gave you a warm smile and walked over to say hello.
"Ah, you must be [Name]! It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Welcome to our sekai. My name is MEIKO."
You paused for a moment, eyeing her. She didn't seem mean, and she did resemble and sound like Meiko..
"Nice to meet you as well. Is this your cafe? It smells great."
Akito smiled happily watching you and MEIKO walk towards the café, soon joining his band mates and meeting the other VIRTUAL SINGERS.
One by one, as MIKU, RIN, LEN, KAITO, and LUKA gathered to come say hi. At some point, the conversation had switched over to childhood memories, and LUKA had asked how old you were.
You opened your mouth to answer, but Akito was far quicker than you were.
"[Name]'s sixteen. They're only a few months younger than me and-"
"I'm seventeen."
The room went silent for a few moments, Everyone looking at you and Akito with wide eyes, and you felt a lump in your throat.
An was the first to pipe up, "We missed your birthday? Why didn't you tell us?"
"I did. I texted the groupchat that day." You messed with a hangnail. "I guess you all had ignored the birthday cake next to my contact name or the many pictures I took on my birthday. But you guys did also have a performance on my birthday, so you didn't have much of a chance to see me."
You looked up to glance at everyone. Akito looked away guiltily, Toya and Kohane looked worried, and An was surprised. RIN, LEN, and KAITO looked angry. MEIKO had frozen up, her hand hovering over the on button for the coffee maker while LUKA looked slightly confused. MIKU looked at the 4 of them, disappointed. When she locked eyes with you, she gave you an apologetic look.
Unable to handle the silence and embarrassment you felt, you quickly grabbed your phone and left the sekai, feeling the tears and watching your vision get blurry.
The next day, you woke up to knocks on your door. When you opened it, Akito and the rest of VBS were holding multiple presents as their eyes lit up when they heard the door unlocking.
Akito started, "Hey, [Name]. About yesterday, We felt incredibly bad for missing out on your whole birthday solely because we had people to perform for. I know it might be a little late for all this, but we got you late birthday presents and food."
Kohane added on, "Akito's right. We had all planned gifts for you in advance to your birthday, but we all know how that went." Toya spoke up as well, "Mhm. We truly hope you can forgive us, and we can make it up to you in this way." An swayed side to side slowly before speaking up, "Even if you dont forgive us, atleast take the gifts? You truly deserve them."
You couldn't help but feel a little giddy as you forgave them all and pulled all of them in for a hug. You let them inside and the rest of the day was filled with happiness, gifts, and pancakes. ( Thank Akito. )
This is the best ( really late ) birthday you've ever had.

Welcome back! It's an honour being your first ask!
Now onto business, hope you don't mind: I've seen some people around saying that Taiga never cared for An to begin with. Obviously, my first instinct was to say that An is Taiga's niece and he did care but... To what extent? His acts were only caused by grief as a sort of "necessary evil", but just how much did he care if he destroyed Vivid Street and vbs in such gruesome ways?
I couldn't pull any proof by myself so I wanted to ask you instead! What do you think?
Hoc you are my first follower twice now (thrice if you also count my main account), and I believe you've actually got to send the first ask twice as well - one of those asks was just shorter so I opted answering it before yours. It's actually hilarious.
As for the question... Very, very tough to answer this. This is also something I choose to believe we'll find out more about in An5, but for now I will say this: he did care. He just didn't care as much as others thought, we thought, and most importantly, as An thought. But he did care. He just cared about his own ideals and emotions more.
Here's why I think so, although bear in mind it practically borders on theory territory because of how little we actually know about Taiga's inner thoughts.
1) He knows singing is An's coping mechanism, and he urges her to use it.
This is something that we, of course, see with our own eyes for basically the entire An's storyline - at the very least, since An2. An also openly states it herself... In Vivid Old Tale second sidestory!
Quite fitting.
Those are nearly the first and only words Taiga directs to An after telling her the news. Sing it out. You know you want to.
This is vague, and it can be interpreted differently, but this is what I can see here, at least. He wants An to sing. He challenges everyone, but he wants An, An specifically, to fight him - with all that anger and distress she's got, and showed him a second ago. She blows up at Taiga and Taiga immediately says: redirect that into your singing.
And he is not wrong.
2) He knows exactly where An's roadblock lies, and pushes her to break through it (in the worst possible ways).
Since Resonant Town at least, we have a very consistent topic with An: she struggles with her singing, and she feels stuck as her teammates are moving forward. At the same time, her teammates are all going through... Discovering their feelings, as well. Kohane in Kick it Up a Notch, Touya with composing since Walk On and On but moreso in The First Concerto, and Akito in Burn My Soul; all of those have to do with feelings. And for all, ultimately, accepting and embracing those feelings, whatever they are, leads to a breakthrough.
An is the only one who has not done it yet. She is avoiding it, she's avoiding all of it as hard as she can, believing that singing more and more is the only solution to her problem - but she is stuck.
But in Resonant Town, we also see something interesting: An actually sings... Very differently when she allows her singing to speak through her song. That yearning, desperation, struggle - it colors her singing. Is it better? Up to debate, but I believe if Shiho has heard both that version of An and then her usual singing, controlled and devoid of those emotions, and found that something is lacking, and then L/N Miku echoed her sentiment as well... Then yes, I believe that An Shiraishi is An's true potential.
Then, there's this moment in Light Up the Fire; yet again, An tries to avoid confronting her feelings. The moment she tries to do that, she crumbles: Taiga then notices that and provokes her further. He says things that he knows will hurt, because he wants it to hurt; and he wants An to sing with that hurt, because that's what she should allow herself to do if she wants to have the power to surpass Rad Weekend.
Once again, he is proven right. It's very likely that this is the direction An's arc will go to: accept that grief, anger, fury, everything, and sing with it, not despite it.
3) He does care about other members of the team, as well.
Some less, some more; I think he cares most about Arata both because he's given him advice twice and because he sees himself in Arata. The advice he's given to him is something that Taiga himself took to heart; something that he believes has made him strong.
But: the fact that the battle happened at all is a sign that Taiga at least isn't indifferent towards An, and the rest of them. He wants them to surpass RW, to follow through Nagi's wish; if he hadn't, he would've just stepped aside and let them struggle and ultimately fail. They needed this - this push - to understand what they were lacking.
It doesn't mean he is not an asshole. It also doesn't mean he isn't cruel. But ultimately, an answer to your question: Taiga cared.
It can be argued he's done that for Nagi's sake, too, and not his wish alone. It's a very solid opinion as well, and I think a truthful one. But Taiga is also someone who ultimately didn't care enough about what Nagi wanted, too: this is important. He wouldn't have done something just because of that - for Taiga to do something, he has to have at least some personal stake in the matter.
I think he got attached to VBS and their team, despite trying to be skeptical: that attachment led him to do things he did, but he also resented it, because he didn't want to believe that Nagi was right about future generations; he still wanted to achieve their dream by himself, not pass it over to some strangers. He believes that he alone deserves to carry it, and seeing them come so close they might actually reach out to it is the main source of his anger and cruelty - not his grief alone. Part of him wanted to kick VBS and the team down so hard they wouldn't recover, proving that desire to carry on by himself right; but a part of him... Well, a lot of inner battles going in that man's mind, I'm sure.
I didn't think he ever cared about An as much as Ken did, or as much as Nagi did; my controversial opinion is that he didn't have to. At the end of the day, An is not his child, and is not a child he is obligated to support in any way that is beyond basic civility to her. For Taiga, An is just a friend's kid and Nagi's niece, not really his. And I can't argue with that, honestly; he and An just had... Different perception about who's who in their lives. That's upsetting, but before Taiga did something that horrible, I couldn't blame him for that.
I don't know if there was genuine care in there, to be honest. But I think there was definitely attachment and a little bit of hope. But above all that, there was selfishness - and once again, this is the overarching theme of VBS - and that was the reason Taiga did what he did.

Well, polyneed as a whole but ichisaki MAINLY make me insane like their whole story and dynamic and cjsjckdjf Saki is ichika's hope and happiness and Ichika is the one who makes Saki be who she is, the one who will never leave her. They just make me insane and they're both each other's inspiration and cjsjckdjdj
Polyniigo. While my head mainly spins in Mafuyu ships (more specifically, mafuena and mizumafu), they're all so important for each other and each has something that will help in the recovery of another. They all complete each other, you cannot separate them. They're a found family as much as they are a ship, "these are the people who gets me, and makes me happy and who I CHOOSE to be with".
.. i love other ships but those mentioned are my main OTPS and the ones who mostly make me insane, shout out to polyvbs, anhane, minoharu and nenekasa tho
Platonic
A lot of the ones in here will also be able to be read as ships, and I will like it most times, but I also REALLY like them as bffs or adopted siblings or smth

Tenmas (including Toya), I can not express myself how those sillies make my day, the Tenmas are the first people that Toya feels at home with, Tsukasa is the person that makes both laugh, Saki wants to make up for her time and spend time with her family. 10/10

Hinomoris. Shiho wanting independence, but Shizuku does it all for her, because she wanted to step in as an older sister for her parents but she NEVER HAD THE TIME TO BECAUSE SHES AN IDOL. Which created an even bigger gap for a while. They love each other but couldn't tell each other what's going on in their lives
Now the ones that are able to see it as romantic, no matter if i like it that way or not
Ichikasa. Look, for me, Tsukasa treats Ichika like a little sister, while he does that with everyone in Leo/need, one thing ichikasa only can bond over is seeing Saki in her worst state and making her smile, because Saki's smile is everything for both of them.
Shizukasa. As mentioned before, they can be bffs and look good doing so. They will cuddle and not care about what the idol fans will say. In some AUs that brew in my brain, they marry but they are just each others beard, still close though
Akian. While i love them as a ship too, i NEED to talk about how their dynamic is amazing, they will kick each other then get mad if someone raises the voice at the other, only them can bully each other tyvm. In times i prefer seeing them as a couple, in others i prefer seeing them as siblings, depends on my mood and the good thing about headcanons is that I can have both and they're not in the same universe at all
Minori, Kohane and Shiho. So. Silly. Come onnnnnn i dont have an essay prepared for them tho
Ruinene.. maybe i like childhood friend troupe maybe not... But as a couple, as bffs, or as siblings, those 2 be queens

Im very anxious since my last reporting i stuttered alot and the teacher got annoyed and made me sit down, and i got a low score on my reporting cus 1 my voice is too quiet and 2 i stutter alot, im very bad at reporting even my groupmates dont want me to report, thankfully my teacher gave me a chance to report, i just hope i dont stutter ಠ︵ಠ please send me good luck!
Sypnosis: reader has an exam coming up and its taking a toll on them! Toya bakes them a cake in order to cheer them up!

✮You were very stressed out, wether it'd be from schools, or from your part time, everything made you nuts! You cant even do anything you love since exams are coming up.. you asked toya for help in studying since he's good at that, while studying toya noticed you looked.. distressed.. your eyes had eye bags underneath them, your hair was a mess and you'd sleep in class time to time, of course he knew that exams were coming up, but he didnt expect it to take a toll on you.
✮Toya felt bad, he wanted to cheer you up but.. how? He doesnt want to look that clingy so.. he secretly gives you trinkets time to time, whether it'd be a ballpen of your favorite color, or buying you snacks, ofcourse you noticed his odd behaviour but he excuses this as being "helpful" or "you needed it", you weren't complaining though..
✮At the day of the exam you tried very hard to answer, to staying up all night, to begging toya to tutor you late in the evening. The time was up and it was time to pass the test papers and wait until your score is revealed, the teacher soon announces that the scores would be revealed next week, which gives you more day to overthink..
✮When you finally get home to your apartment/house you instantly checked your notes, trying to see which answers you got right and wrong when suddenly, toya messages you.
✮"Meet me at weekend garage." You looked at the message with pure confusion, what does he mean by that? Is he mad at you? Dissapointed? You stood up and instantly went to this place called weekend garage, while walking there you noticed a bunch of street artists performing, it was nice.. the Streets felt scary but it made them not scary when you see people performing. You soon entered at weekend garage, taking a seat near the entrance, you noticed that there were no customers here, just an's dad talking on the phone.
✮Soon enough, aoyagi and the others arrived and holding a ten inched cake he then placed the cake infront of you "congratulations on the test" toya added while placing the cake, kohane, akito, and an both nodded in agreement. "Huh? Congratulations? I dont even know if im gonna pass or not.."
✮"I know, but you looked so down this week, i know you love chocolate cake, so we made you one" he replied, an nodded and spoke up "yeah! I didnt even know baking was this hard! Not to mention expensive!" She exclaimed, kohane nodded "mhm, it was difficult.. and some of the measurements we took might be wrong.. those fancy decorations run out so we had to use the cheap decorations.." she added, akito sighs "what are you waiting for? Eat the cake"
✮He says while handing you a fork. The cakes design was kid-ish, it had a flower border, with a brown frosting on the center that wrote "you did it!" The icing was a bit too thin, and the icing was covered in cake crumbs, not to mention the cake was lumpy, probably adding too much baking soda but you didnt mind, its the efforts that matter!
✮You tried the cake, taking a small bite before nodding with a smile "its good, its a bit dry but i love how bitter it is!" You smiled, the group sighs with relief, an grabs a fork and tries it "too bitter for my liking.. but its good!" She exclaims, the rest of the group had different opinions about the cake but nevertheless all of you enjoyed it
✮Once it was dark, you excused yourself and was about to walk home when toya spoke up, "allow me to walk you home (y/n)" he added, you tried declining his offer, after all he might have practice "ah, no thank you.! Youre probably practicing and i wouldnt wanna make you walk back here!" You added, toya shook his head "our practice is in tomorow, for now i wanna walk you home, its dangerous for someone to go home alone at night" he added, you sighed and nodded with agreement, you waved goodbye the others and walked home with toya.
✮While walking he asks a question "how was the test?" He asks, you sighed "it was very difficult, especially chemistry, math i didnt mind.. god i think im gonna fail chemistry.." you groaned, toya pats your back and assures you "no,no your probably gonna pass, you did stay up all night to study right? And plus you finished your test just when the timer was about to end, im sure you'll pass.." he replied, you smiled at him "i hope so.." you replied, chuckling a bit.

Favourite headcanon about Yuka Shiraishi?
Oh, this is going to be a hot mess of a hc dump. I hope you enjoy them nonetheless.
- Yuka can actually cook decently well. She's not like, great at it, but it's not like everything she cooks is inedible. But because Ken is that much of a better cook than her, she sometimes the weaponized incompetence thing where she just so happen to grab salt instead of sweet and almost add it to the dish so Ken can take over the cooking process. Ken is fully aware, finds it endearing and gives in every time. Both An and Yuka love his cooking so much, so why not?
- An wasn't aware of the fact until around High School, however, and thought her mom's just actually terrible. This was the Shiraishi way to motivate An to learn to cook for herself and not rely on her mother or dad for breakfast and such. It worked!
- That said, Yuka was genuinely a horrible cook in college, mostly surviving on instant noodles and takeout. When Ken visited her dorm/room for the first time when they started dating, his reaction can be best described by "damn girl, you live like this?"
- They first met in college, but their actual first meeting was more like An and Kohane, with Yuka getting lost on Vivid Street or somewhere nearby. She got to see a whole new perspective on a just some guy she met on campus sometimes but who otherwise seemed completely ordinary, and that was the moment Yuka become interested in him.
- Both Ken and Yuka were friends for a long time before either of acted on their feelings. College, man! On top of Ken's musical career too! They didn't have time for dating. Nobody was surprised when they got together, though.
- Nagi and Yuka we very good friends from the get go. Yuka is actually older than Nagi by a few years, but Nagi was just acting full on like an older sister, showing Yuka around Vivid Street and getting her into the culture. Despite not being related to Ken, Nagi fully considered herself Yuka's sister-in-law, and both acted accordingly.
- Nobody thought they would stay together, though. It really just seemed like a very incompatible relationship on the surface, but both Yuka and Ken really tried to make it work.
- She and Ken originally wanted a very low-key marriage, the "friends and family only" kind of thing. Unfortunately, news got out anyway, and for the next three months they had to deal with so. Many. Gifts. Their house was practically stuffed for a while.
- She has her own little study room, with shelves full to the brim with textbooks and teaching materials. She actually has an "do not disturb" poster she puts on when she's working during the exam period and while grading papers, and the unspoken rule in the house is to not sing, play music or speak loudly while she's doing that, both because they love her and want to help her through tough time at work and because angry Yuka is a beast to be reckoned with.
- She's also the reason Shiraishi household is in a perpetual state of comfortable mess. Every single room just feels so lived in because Yuka (and An) is very prone to just leave things where they're standing when they get distracted by something. This is why there's so many books, CDs, kitchen appliances and clothes just. All over the place. Once in a while Ken sighs and puts things into their places, but it just returns to its messy state in around a week's time, so they all got used to it.
- A lot of people on Vivid Street were worried that Yuka would be insistent on An getting a conventional career, but Yuka isn't just chill, she's pretty excited about An's musical future. She married Ken of all people, and from the looks of it her job isn't particularly high-pay either, so why on earth would she care about things like "financial stability"? Pff.
- I don't think her parents ever approved of the relationship: iirc, An having grandparents isn't even mentioned anywhere. Yuka didn't care one bit though.
- She went through gifted kid to burnt out gifted kid to found something that brings her genuine joy and found comfort in studying it pipeline in her life; her relationship with school is very complicated and she's also been kind of a girlfailure through college, barely scraping by on some subjects, with Ken doing much better despite not really giving a damn about it.
- She has a very nice voice and can sing pretty well, but she has a particular issue with stage fright specifically about singing than she never got to fix. She'll sing for/with her family sometimes, but nothing other than that.
- She grew up in a kind of... Very normal but very lonely environment, with a nuclear family and not that many friends or relatives. This is why she kind of got culture shock when she first arrived at Vivid Street and notice how tight-knit the community was, to the point where she thought some of those people loved each other more than her parents loved each other and that she actually really missed something like this in her life. Striving to be part of a community, even if she herself wasn't really musically inclined, is a huge reason of why she stayed there.
- She helped that one "sexy onee-chan" npc (sorry) kindergarten teacher to get into college! They have weekly cafe meetups where they discuss their students and teaching methods; Yuka kind of sees her as her student as well, and vice versa.
- She has ADHD, and she's also the one who passed it down to An. Yuka was both comforted by recognising her own behaviours and mannerisms in An and very worried, because she was afraid An would have to face the same struggles she did; but in a lot of ways her own experience with it helped her give An coping mechanism and strategies that worked for her and the reason she had a very happy childhood overall. Yuka herself wasn't so lucky.
- Not a single gift she ever got for Ken on any holiday hasn't been at least a little embarrassing, from awkward jewellery to socks with hand embroidery. Yuka enjoys making him cringe but accept the gifts anyway because she finds it absolutely hilarious. Nagi and An did as well; Ken, not so much.
tl;dr: I love Yuka Shiraishi, even though I literally thought Ken was a single father for a year and that still remains one of my favourite AUs. I hope her sprite is absolutely hilarious.

“where’re we going…?” they questioned, you snickered playfully. “it’s a surprise!” they sighed. pushing open the door, you two had arrived at your destination—the school rooftop. this place held many memories for mizuki, they met one of their greatest friends here. “why are we here? is there something you need to show me?” “well, kinda. it’s more so telling you.” a light shade of red had formed on your face, bracing yourself for what you were about to do. “it’s just… i like you a lot, mizuki. you’re probably the best partner i could ever ask for.” your face inched closer to theirs, they tried to understand what you were doing. “and i hope you know just how much i appreciate you.” the more you spoke, the closer you got.
“i love you, mizuki.” and with that said, you cupped their face in your hands and pressed your lips to theirs. mizuki was taken aback at this, but nevertheless, leaned into your touch. pulling away, both you and mizuki’s faces were red, they scrambled to the door. “t-thanks, (name)! i love you too, i gotta go now—bye!” you laughed, never seeing mizuki so flustered before.

Also Yuuko reinforcing what I was just saying about her, deliberately pointing out to Kohane the good things that can come out of her gift, showing her how it can help her forge a better future. I don’t think we have ever seen Yuuko ever been so consistently kind and caring and genuinely helpful to any of her customers, and it’s practically everything I could ever want.

This really IS everything I could have hoped for. I was genuinely scared for a while that Kohane’s arc was going to end in tragedy, BUT NOPE HERE WE GO, Kohane does the hardest thing she could and collapses her life around her in an attempt to help herself and her mother finally actually be happy - and she is immediately met with a new family holding out their hands and smiling and offering to help her whenever she needs it.

She slowly opened her eyes. The ceiling was far, far away. It felt... Weird. Her regulator broke? No. If that was the case she would be closer to the ceiling.
So she sat up and wiped away all the tears that were still on her face. Everything was smaller. She wasn't making anything up. She wiped her face with her hands just a couple more times to figure out if she wasn't hallucinating.
"Da-" She stopped herself from screaming louder at the last second. He wasn't anyone who she wished to see right now.
It was confusing and scary. Everything was so small she didn't know what to really think about it. It's like she was a little kid again, lost in adults' world she didn't understand. But she thought she did. And she was lied to, she was clueless and she was lied to. She wiped off some of the fresh tears and began thinking about the solution. She also promised herself to never make fun of Kohane for being tiny again.
The phone was absolutely enormous. But getting to it wasn't impossible per se. She slowly made her way through the, now comically big, blanket. Of course her tiny fingers won't work, and she didn't have the strength right now to put the phone against the wall to use the face id. Password it was. She managed to get it right on the third try.
The rest was fairly easy. But the moment she caught herself staring at Kohane's profile picture she knew it didn't feel right. Not with her alone. She took a deep breath and messaged the group chat.
This was the most painful half an hour she could have possibly experienced. She was lonely and so tiny. Not even able to make herself breakfast.
The brief thought about Nagi only made things worse. How could she leave An so alone? So helpless. It was selfish of her. Of course it was. Now she was stuck in this petit useless body where all she can do is hope someone rescues her. She can't do anything about it. She simply can't.
The door swung right open and Akito stood right there. Behind him were Kohane and Toya, just as confused. They stood for some time in the doorframe, not really sure of how to react. But once Kohane ran towards An everyone broke. The tears were falling like crazy, the almost crushing hugs were given.
Akito made sure to bring some of An's favourite food and Toya went to talk with her father about how to fix the situation. Kohane was weirdly calm, but she was more than willing to carry An around.
The atmosphere has shifted. An was no longer alone, tiny and helpless kid. She was just a bit of a vulnerable teenager. Nagi was not coming back and she still needed time to process that. Her size won't change any time soon. But now at least she knows she has a shoulder to cry on. Or three.

everything seemed perfect today! you were in a good mood, and you managed to pass your science test! what could ever go wrong to screw up your day? smiling, you look at yourself in the mirror. you observed your outfit that you have just gotten recently with your boyfriend throughly. the outfit was picked by your boyfriend, and even wearing it, made you feel even more happy. twirling a little, you grab your bag and run out the door. you agreed on meeting akito at weekend garage and you were excited to see him and tell him all the good news!
before you know it, you're already entering the cafe. with a smile, you greet akito and his group members. "hi akito! hi guys!" you greeted. you see akito wave slightly and look back at his food. what was up with him today? shrugging it off, you go up and hug him. but in response, he pushes you away. "do you mind.." he scoffed. what? you feel everything around you slow down. what was up with him? he probably didn't mean it like that. nodding silently, you sit beside him and look over his shoulder. an chuckles awkwardly and sits beside kohane.
toya manages to strike up a conversation with us, and talks about the show today. "ah, speaking of that- i passed my science test, akito!" you smiled at him. he turns to look at you and smiles. "good job" he says blankly. going up to his ear, you ask, "akito? is something the matter? it's not like you to just-" he cut you off. "damn it y/n! can you just stop being on my ass all the time?! it gets really annoying. and who are you to tell me what i am, and what i'm not! can't you just leave me alone?" he suddenly shouts out. "akito, that's enough." toya interrupts. were you really that much of a burden to him? everything around you felt dull, and the only thing you can remember is everyone yelling at you.
until, your snapped back into your thoughts. looking up, you see everyone, including akito, with a worried expression. akito instantly regret the words that came out of his mouth. "y/n, wait, i'm sorry-" you don't even realize the tears seeping through your eyes as you dash out the door. "way to go, akito. you better go apologize, she seemed really hurt." an said. "yeah.. go buy her a gift while your at it! or something.." kohane interjects. opening your front door and slamming it, you hide yourself in your room.
'it wasn't your fault, it wasn't your fault,' were the only thoughts in your head. you sobbed into your knees. hearing faint footsteps, you sat up. looking down as the door opened, you know exactly who it is. he walks over to you and crouches, "y/n, i'm sorry. i didn't mean it- i was just mad and stuff, okay? you didn't do anything wrong." he admits while running his fingers through your hair. you feel yourself cling onto him as he hugs you. sniffling, you mutter, "you're.. such a big idiot.." while resting your head on his chest.

“Hold still…” Mizuki gently held Rui’s cheek in their hands, tilting his head to the side and focusing on the face paint. They stuck out their tongue in concentration, and Rui chuckled at the sight.
“What? Did I mess up?” They ask, pulling the brush away for a second.
“No, you just look cute like that.” He grins, trying to make Mizuki blush. He spots a pink hue across their cheeks, and decides it’s good enough for now.
“Don’t pretend like you don’t make the same face whilst working on your inventions.”
“I wouldn’t dare.”
Mizuki continued painting the detailed design on his face, and went to switch colours when the door swung open.
“Hello An,” Rui said, smiling.
“Hi! What are you doing?” An asked, joining them to sit on the carpet and looking at an eyeshadow palette.
“Spooky makeup! We wanted to scare you, but you came early.” Mizuki said.
“You wouldn’t have scared me anyway, looking at that poor excuse for a skeleton.” An gestured to Rui’s makeup, and he just waved at her and Mizuki.
“Hey! I worked very hard on this!”
“Well you should let me do yours. Then we’ll see who’s better.”
“Oh it’s on!” Mizuki grinned, and began to paint Rui again. Black and white smudged over his eyelids, and a blood red lipstick completed his costume, and Mizuki shuffled back, admiring their creation.
“That’s really good!” An said.
“Told you!” Mizuki laughed. Rui looked at himself in the mirror and smiled.
“This could make a really good theme for a show. Just imagine, all the skeletons, and the lights… I’ve done a Halloween show before, but this one is sure to be much better.”
“I’ll remember to tell Kohane about that.” said An, standing up just to go and sit on the bed.
“Thank you, I’ll make sure she loves it.”
Mizuki stood up too and took An’s hand. “We need to do you now!”
“Do we really have to?”
“Come on An, it’s a Halloween tradition!” Rui said, and took all the makeup over to the bed.
“Okay then. But I get to pick who I am, okay?”
“I think you’d look pretty cute as a devil!” Mizuki exclaimed.
“Did you not just hear-” An was interrupted by Mizuki, who was now scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration. “Rui, we need to do it on the floor. Unless you want to get the bed all red!”
Rui sighed dramatically, placing a hand on his forehead. “Oh you are so cruel to me.” He was met with only giggles as he tried to wipe the makeup from his hand.
They all sat in a little circle on the floor, Mizuki’s references in the middle. They picked up a brush, and leaned over to An.
“Make me look good.”
“You are going to be the cutest girl in the room tonight, don’t even worry.” Mizuki said.
“As always.” Rui added, holding An’s chin still. She blushed and Mizuki and Rui both laughed. Every touch made her heart beat like crazy, but she tried her hardest not to show it too much.
“Also the only girl in the room, but that’s not important.” Mizuki said as they drew on some eyeliner.
“Are we done now?” Rui asked.
“I think so.” Mizuki went and got a mirror and showed An her new look. She studied herself for a second then a big smile grew on her lips.
“It’s great!”
“Thank you!” Rui said as he brushed An’s hair out her face.
“You did none of it, so stop taking credit.” Mizuki pretended to be angry at him, giving him a joking death stare.
“You sound like Ena.” An laughed.
“Oh, now I’m really mad.”
“Look at what you started.” An said to Rui, both of them grinning at each other.
Rui bent down to Mizuki’s height to annoy them. “I’m sorry, my love. Could you forgive me?” He stood back up but a second later, Mizuki grabbed his collar and pulled him to her height to kiss him. Rui went redder than An’s face paint, and he laughed awkwardly.
“That was great.” An said.
“I know!” Mizuki giggled, and started to tidy up the makeup.
“Well, I’ll leave you two for now. I’m going to get us some popcorn.” She walks over to the door.
“Don’t burn the house down again!” Mizuki calls after her.
“I’d quite like to survive today!” Rui adds.
“That was with Toya, that doesn’t count. Trust me, my dad owns weekend garage.”
“Whatever you say, Satan!” Rui laughs, and he can see An scowl at him before she completely leaves his view.

Akito:
Akito would thank everything that at least it's not a dog. He'll then proceed to freak out upon seeing your pet-
He finds out that he is scared of exotic animals, but he'll try his best to ease into touching your pet
This will definitely have to happen with just the two of you, because he'd melt in embarrassment if any of his friends had to see him like this-
He would definitely want to scream any time your bat flies around him, he's just scared he'll hurt them- At least he's not freaked out by how they look!
He'd be a bit better with a chinchilla, but he'll still stare wide-eyed at them as they run around. If it jumps anywhere near him, he does end up screaming-
Toya:
Toya is definitely the most normal out of everyone here, he'll admire your pet in quiet awe
He doesn't want to startle them at all, so he'll quietly sit on the floor and patiently wait for your pet to move towards him. He'd feel bad if he startled them-
He'll absolutely light up whenever they brush against him, and he'll give them the gentlest pets in the world
He thinks that your bat is one of the coolest things he's ever seen, and he'll carefully pet them with a really soft smile. If they fly, he'll watch with admiration
He'll be amazed by how soft your chinchilla is, running his fingers through their fur over and over again. If they jump around, he'll marvel at how fast they are
Tsukasa:
Tsukasa will tell you that he wants to see your pet, then immediately screams upon seeing them-
The only animals he's really scared of are bugs, but this doesn't stop him from being startled by your pet-
He's never seen anything like them! And he already reacts to everything 10000x more than he has to, so he will end up screaming whether he wants to or not-
He is both freaked out and intrigued by your bat, he thinks that they're so cool! Just please don't let them fly around him, he's gonna scream-
He will be in awe of your chinchilla, they're so fluffy!! And he'll cheer if they jump around, but will still be scared if they jump around him-
Rui:
Rui will certainly be intrigued, how did someone so close to him manage to get such an exotic creature as a pet?
He asks you a bunch of questions on where you got your pet, how you got your pet, how you take care of them, etc...
He's maybe a bit too curious about it, allowing your pet to move around or on him as he continues his questions. He has a notebook dedicated to them-
He so badly wants to learn more about your bat's anatomy, but that would be a dissection and he won't do that- He's content with just holding your bat!
He is really taken by how fluffy your chinchilla is, they're adorable! He also does ponder if he could make a costume with fur that fluffy-
Ena:
Ena will be a mix of curious and deathly afraid. Yes she wants to see your pet, but also don't hold them so close to her-
She's never taken to animals too much, especially since they always get more likes than her posts on social media ever do, but she'll try to warm up to your pet
Plus, she gets to practice drawing animals, so there's a high chance that you'll find her holding her sketchbook and staring intensely at your pet
The bat will freak her out, she's never seen them so close and why do they look like that- At least they'd be easier to draw if they're sleeping...
The chinchilla would also kind of freak her out a bit, why are they so fluffy?? And if they move around a lot, her drawings get messed up a lot-

"Hopefully that's enough..."
You decided to spend your break with Toya. He was probably one of your best choices... you always felt so safe around him... When you walked up to him, you could feel the staring get even stronger and creepier. Sure, his presence was calming but it's hard to not worry about someone staring at you like they're about to kill you right here and there.
"Hey there Toya! Did you had fun yesterday? I remember you mentioning that you'll be there with your group!"
"Ah yes. It went pretty fun. An brought us some cookies and Kohane took some photos. Oh, and Akito gave try to a new style..."
"New style? What do you mean? He dressed in pink?"
"No, he was wearing some hair pins. Of course everyone were supportive. I doubt I'll be able to tell you what it looked like..."
"Ah, don't worry! I mean... I was a little interested but it's not something depending on my life!" You laughed nervously.
"Of course. But if you're really interested, I'm sure you can ask Kohane to show you some photos. I think she took photo of Akito a few times."
"Ooh~ Well thank you so much! I'll definitely go talk to her later! See you then, Toya!"
He waved back at you when you were about to go to Kohane but she was already gone... and when you wanted to look for her, the bell rang meaning your class is about to start.
Your day at school was pretty avarge, you payed or pretended to pay attention in class, on break you had a little chat with your classmate and then it was time to go home.
You woke up on next day in a slightly better mood since you had less lessons that day. When you arrived at school and opened your locker tho, you saw 3 things that you definitely didn't put there. 2 letters and 1 package.
"Hello the most amazing person in the whole world!
Yes, I'm talking about you, silly! How are you doing? I hope you don't find it too weird but I noticed you talked with that 2 haired guy... Toya now, wasn't it? Yeah so like just watch out for him! You don't want to bee involved in his sheemes...
Anyway, that's all! Just be careful since I wouldn't want him to harm such a perfect person as yourself <3

That's... a little concerning... but should you really be scared of Toya? You started reading another letter, now being curious.

Huh? One letter tells you to be afraid of him and the other says you should stick to him more... what is actually going on? You looked into your locker once again and opened the package where you found cookies of your favorite flavor. But looking at those letters... what should you do with it? Toya knows Akito better than anyone else.
This is a fact Toya has known for a while now— and he thinks it's only natural, considering good partners would have this strong of a bond. Still, sometimes he's taken aback at how much Akito lets himself be known: from something as trivial as his favorite food or how much a certain customer annoys him, to his deepest insecurities and fears. They have expressed multiple times how much they trust and value each other, shown not only through words but actions as well. It's become something they both know, a silent, comforting layer of closeness that is present in all of their interactions. It brings a smile to Toya's face as he lets his mind wander.
While lying in bed at these late hours, Toya sometimes thinks about what makes him different from all the other people in his partner's life. He knows Akito values Toya's honesty, dedication, and earnestness, but if that's all there is, Kohane could also be described with the same adjectives. In fact, Akito once mentioned Toya and Kohane are not that different… though he supposes he's less "anxious" than Kohane. Is that what Akito likes about him? If so then An would also have very similar traits to Toya, and yet Akito doesn't have the same bond with her as he does with him. It could be that An teases Akito more than Toya, yet he does do so a fair amount,mainly by pointing out his partner's lies that he tells to appear tougher around strangers and sometimes friends. What is it that makes Akito annoyed at An's jokes but only momentarily flustered at Toya's remarks? Maybe the real difference is Toya's talent—an expertise in classical music that Kohane and An lack. But, no, Toya knows it's more than that, or else they wouldn't have clicked so easily outside of performing.
Their friendship wouldn't be so strong if mutual admiration was the only thing holding them together. Trust and companionship this deep is built on something else. What is it?
Toya figures he won't be finding answers written on his bedroom's ceiling. He's fine with that. He's just happy he has Akito as his partner. Everything else is secondary.
Nothing can change or break the bond they have.
With that reassuring thought, he closes his eyes and drifts into dreamless sleep.

Akito knows Toya better than anyone else.
It's not like Toya is a very secretive guy, especially after his relationship with his father improved. He has plenty of friends who know him very well. Still, Akito feels warm knowing that he's the one that gets Toya to smile the most. Even if would never admit it so bluntly, he likes that Toya trusts him enough to depend on him: from something as trivial as asking to participate in an arcade tournament and being the impromptu dance captain for a wedding, to helping him through an argument with his father and talking about his childhood. Akito really, really likes knowing they will support each other no matter what.
While he lies in bed at these late, he wonders how he managed to score such an unbelievable partner. At first, he wanted to match Toya's musical skills to be worthy of his companionship, but Akito would be lying if he didn't consider that his short temper would be the one driving Toya away. He never tried changing himself for Toya though, at least not in that aspect. He wanted a partner that would like him for who he is– someone who would see through his prickly exterior and into… whatever lies in Akito's core.
Suddenly, it hits Akito that Toya must have liked what he found if he's stuck around this long. Akito starts feeling giddy; so much so that he turns to his side and nearly screams into his pillow. He doesn't want Ena yelling at him right now (as she's surely awake), so Akito ends up simply shoving his head aggressively against the foam and hopes his thoughts and feelings would quiet down.
It doesn't work. The more he thinks about how much they mutually, explicitly, and genuinely like each other, the harder his heart beats against his chest. Akito turns fully and buries his head in the pillow.
What was it about Toya that had Akito feeling like some hopeless highschool girl from a D-tier shoujo anime? Akito curses, feeling beyond embarrassed by that thought. First of all, he's not a highschool girl. He's a highschool boy. Secondly, they're both boys. They're partners. It's only normal to know each other so closely. So then, why? Does Kohane make An feel like this, too? Maybe it's different because they're girls.
And it's not always that he's carried these feelings, too. At some point, Akito began wanting to be closer. Sitting closer, standing closer— hell, even singing closer. Akito wonders if Toya hasn't noticed, or if he has and doesn't mind; although it's probably the latter. He likes to think it's not strange for them to lean against each other when they're in booths, or to put his head on Toya's shoulder and him putting his own on Akito's, their fingers lightly brushing against each other as they overlook the city lights. An and Kohane do stuff like that all the time. They even hold hands regularly. Although, again, maybe it's different because they're girls. But why does it have to be different?
Akito turns again after his unsuccessful attempt at suffocating his brain out of his body. Whatever it is, whenever it happened, for whichever reason, he knows he can't let his feelings get in the way of their goal and partnership. If Toya ever finds out what makes him different from the rest is how much Akito loves him (platonically, he hopes), it will have to be after they surpass RAD WEEKEND.
Akito closes his eyes and drifts into sleep, dreaming of two-toned blue hair and gray eyes.
