Why do you personally ship, like, or appreciate Sonamy? What got you into Sonamy? What’s your favorite moment between the two?

Why do I ship Sonamy?

Okay, ima admit it..for someone who is a diehard sonamy fan, and thinks about AND ONLY about them literally every waking second, I can not think of ONE reason why I ship them to begin with….

“So you just ship them for basically no reason WHY?!” Pretty much 😅

And I’ve seen so many other people give their really good reasons and opinions on why they ship sonamy, and I full on agree with ‘em, but as for myself, I rack up nothing…and it’s my favourite ship too I mean come onnn TwT

I’ve also had my sister ask me this same question not long ago, and all I could do was just sit there and think “Damn your life almost revolves around these 2 HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE AN ANSWER?!” I constantly beat myself up for this because I know I should 😭

And I mean, stuff like being the dynamic duo that they are, (whether in battle or not) their attitude and affection for each other evolving over time, respecting the other’s wants and needs, respecting boundaries (kinda the same thing tbh lol) , enjoying each others company, and just how the whole idea of sonamy has turned from what some people may see as “toxic” or “forced” (that might be the better word for it) from early 2000s media, to something more laid back and healthy like recent media because of all the character development over the years… etc, etc…are all fantastic reasons, and even reasons I would now apply as to why I love the ship even more…BUT they’re not the reasons I began to ship them in the first place, because these things I NEVER took into consideration when I starting doing so.

To put a long story short, I just saw pink and blue hedgies and was like, “ooooh I sense chemistry”

I feel like I could be going no where with all this. But all I’m tryna say is that I LIKE sonamy simply because of who they are…just a speedy blue boi and his hammer-wielding pink girlie. I APPRECIATE them solely because of their existence, especially in my life. They are like- one of the few things I ever look forward to these days. I SHIP them because unlike any other ship that has sonic or amy in it, sonamy just… “works” (I don’t know how to explain it but you know what I mean right??) And despite not being canon, (YET! 😏) they have got to be the closest ship to becoming canon (besides vectilla) ..unless I’m just biased :p

What got me into Sonamy?

Well, I did kinda just answer this in the previous question lol but I have to elaborate!

So yeah it started off with just seeing them 2 together and thought “I like where this is going hehe” tho tbh it never really went anywhere…because I was watching Sonic Boom at the time XD, the first piece of Sonic media I consumed since regaining an interest in the franchise. AND WE ARE NOT going back to like 2015 or 16 when I first discovered Sonic…idek what I did regarding shipping back then…I think I like shipped blaze and shadow or something OH LAWD-

Also to think that those short lived Sonamy moments in Boom didn’t even bother me in the slightest?! Present me is disgusted by such lack of interest or care! 😫

Okay okay I’m straying from the question, I’m sorry!!

There are a few things that got me hooked on Sonamy. First was definitely the tv series’. Boom, Prime and X all had adorable and wholesome moments that I could’ve almost died of cuteness from! Some of it was also hilarious too. In Sonic boom for instance, sonic and Amy would fight like a married couple lololol

Another thing (and this was the game changer) was the fanart and animatics. These became the addiction for me; one comic would lead to me reading another, which lead me to read another and so on. Or I’d find an animatic on YT and watch that and then begin scavenging trying to find more animatics to feed these cravings of sonamy I was beginning to gain all of a sudden.

And it just got worse and worse to the point I practically need a daily dose of Sonamy or I just might go feral

But I mean, how could I not?! YOU GUYS ARE SO GOSH DARN TALENTED AKJDJSJDND

Sadly now my food hath runneth dry over the months…so if any of u like come across anything sonamy pls don’t hesitate to tag me or send it to me pls I need it ajhshsjs

On top of all that, came the brainrot. My growing love for this ship and all the incredible media really sent me into a serious Sonamy delulu era. Literally almost ANYTHING can send me into deep thoughts about those 2, no kidding. I literally planned out in my head an entire story of them a couple days ago. Sometimes it’s a head canon or 2, other times just something extremely wholesome I’ll imagine them do and I’ll be deceased. Those rats live in my head rent free omg-

As I said, ANYTHING can trigger this brainrot; a song, a scene, a quote, a random object…you name it, I’ll come up with a Sonamy headcanon in relation to it.

I can’t also forget other sonic media that also boosted it like game cutscenes and IDW. Lately IDW has been CARRYING it for me with the little Sonamy moments like in the 900th adventure, #67 and other tidbits I’d find in former issues. The amount of frames I’ve seen of them hugging warms my heart waaa🥺🥺

Overall, this fandom has really impacted me and my love for Sonamy. (and sonic in general) all the things I’ve learnt and discovered have made me love them all the more because of it. My life has almost become an Sonamy aesthetic now…I am NOT joking when I tell you my PJs are Sonamy coded, and that was hardly intentional…🤣

Favourite Sonamy moment?

Arrghhh why just one?? Pretty much ANY moment involving those 2 cotton candy hedgies are bound to be my favourite!

Totally not saying this cuz I can’t pick a favourite *cough cough*

» The AU takes place after the Embrace the Void ending, and so The Knight/Ghost is not present. Here is a post detailing what happened to them (and the other shade siblings in the Abyss).

» Feral PK's name in the AU is Vyrm (an alternate spelling of Wyrm that he uses as his name), though for the purpose of the asks and other posts I call him FPK. Also, I headcanon him as gay (demi-gay to be more precise). At the current point in the AU he and The White Lady are separated.

» As you probably noticed, most of my designs stray very far from insect-like interpretations. That is very much intentional. In the AU, I see "bug" as a general term for "people", not an implication that they are all insects. While some characters do have more insect-like anatomy, there are others which possess reptilian, mammalian or even plant-like traits. I go a little more in detail on how I see that term in this post. So while I'm not bothered by people referring to for example, Grimm or FPK as insects, keep in mind that this is not how I personally view them.

» Additionally, I see the characters as much larger than real life insects. As a reference point, FPK is similar in height to a raccoon standing bipedally. For this reason, most of the characters have skeletal structures to support larger body mass. There are some exceptions, notably characters such as Unn.

» Please keep in mind that the AU originated as something I found comfort in, and it remains that way. There may be inconsistencies, I might retcon things on the go, and some things may simply not be well written. I also have no plans to turn this into a fanfic or a comic.

It's a bit of a long post, sorry

I drew OC stuff yesterday but never posted it and I feel like that was a good choice on my part honestly.

I'm quite busy today, but I'll try to post some BSD sketches later on, and I'll most likely be getting cotl sometime this week. (Why do you have a plushy but not the game? Because I thought I'd have the game by the time I got the plushy lol)

I recommend expecting more fanart than usual! I got a new drawing tablet, it's completely different from my old one and I'll probably end up doing fanart while I figure stuff out~

I also want to do some Danny Phantom stuff because it's the anniversary, but I'm not entirely sure what or if I will. (May be the brief return of Phantom's Façade)

Anyway, today is an all or nothing posting day, I will either post nothing, or everything!

Hi friends, I illegally logged into tumblr on my work computer on the first working day of 2023 specifically to make this post properly. I don't have a good computer and I simply could not do this on my phone.

Ok, Time to get emo :)

I discovered SKZ at the end of last year, I personally date my anniversary to somewhere between December 29th 2021 and January 2nd 2022. It's a good thing too because I get overemotional at the end of the year anyway and now I can just schedule all my gratitude and emo times at the same time.

I want to start from the beginning bc the only reason 2022 was a good year for me was this discovery. this is a bit of recap for me because I wanted to do it. If you're tagged in it it means that you played a part in my year and meant something to me. Feel free to only read your little paragraphs (or nothing at all, theres no obligation), this is bound to get unspeakably long.

first, I want to give a quick shout out to the people I started talking to/followed more recently @hyunpic (I haven's checked twitter today, did hyunjin kill you yet or did he get all of that out of the way in 2022?) @mybodyfails (did u ever listen to stromae?) @jisungsjaistandjeekies (how was the first day of your new job?) The best thing about getting another year on tumblr is the promise of getting to know you all more <3

@quokki you were literally the first person I ever followed for stray kids content. It was around february, when I looked for fanart for the first time and reactivated my twitter and I found your hannies. It took a little longer but I'm so glad we are friends now. I really love our chats/meltdowns abt hanji and you're incredibly talented and kind and also just correct abt a lot of stuff lmao

@alexenglish alex, I know we don't talk that much but you were the first person to really talk to me abt k-pop stuff and I will never forget that. I also cannot thank you enough for showing me rolling quartz and for reading the stupid thing that i wrote that one time. it seems trivial but i literally do not show anyone my writing ever and anytime I do and it's a good experience it makes me a little braver so thank you, seriously. and also thank you for sticking around even when I'm a dick

my first comeback in march was soso special because I had people to freak out with. I was in Ireland at the time and even hough I was brand new in online stayville I felt a lot less alone than I could've.

in april i started talking to @sailsflyseaward but I honestly can't believe it has only been 9 months. We've met 3! times since then and you're already one of my most precious online friends and I feel like I've known you way longer. I have to try very hard to stay cynical and not believe in fate and the universe being a good place when I think about how we could've just never met.

I was EXHAUSTED the first 4 months of this year, I hated most of it. I turned 30 in april, i had been to ireland and to the north sea on vacation in march and april but all of it felt hollow and exhausting and terrible. In germany we say that may makes everything anew and it certainly was true for me this year. I planned a trip to toronto, I got a raise, I got to see mamamoo, ive and a bunch of others live and i spoke a little to so so many sweet people.

@nevoono who makes literally the cutest fucking things ever and was my first german k-pop friend ever and also is just... really cool in such a unique way. idk I'm sorry I'm terrible at keeping up.

to @ambivartence who I don't talk to a ton but who also is literally the coolest artist alive and made me feel very happy to know that others also travel very far to see their groups. I stare at your paintings so much, i honestly should not admit it but there's just always so much to see.

and to @pvddins-art who is one of the sweetest and kindest and most generous people I've ever met, which is a high bar because I use those words for a lot of people, but for you they are more true than for anyone.

getting to go to a k-pop festival in germany as my first experience was so good too. I really had no idea what it means to ba a k-pop fan and the whole community and culture and incredible vibes around it when you're there in person. I had a very exhausting day and it was hot as hell and I had a migraine after but it was all worth it

interlude because I don't remember when I started talking to you:

@brianbangs tay my sweetheart, i love you so much. you're just one of the people who get it. like. idk, it's hard for me to put into words properly but you get it when I'm being a hater and you get it when I'm being emotional and you get it when I'm being horny and you accept all of it. I also think you're really fucking creative and talented and I love being here with you so much

then june came and it was one of my best months ever ever. I went to another festival and got to relive the music I loved as a teen. seeing the strokes 16 years after I was a fan made me cry a lot lol. I went to see my favorite people alive @starmotions, @fromadifferentphase (and the third one who is missing but u know who u are) in toronto. and I do mean this literally you're my favorites. I'm the most me when I'm with you, I think of everyone who knows me no one knows me so completely. there isn't anyone I share more parts of myself with. the 1 week I just got to hang out with you was so incredibly precious to me, it made me power through most of the rest of the year. moments of joy! I got to see toronto and got to spend time with people I love. one of my friends came all the way from salt lake city just to see me.

then I went to new york and now there's a long ass list coming because 1. it was the first time I met my beloved julia, 2. it was when i met my beloved kay 3. i got to travel with my beloved di and we got to explore new york and eat so many tacos and learn about queer art and history and also it was when I met both

@chanstopher and @lonelystreetlight and I'm puting you both in the same paragraph bc I started talking to both of you at the same time and also discovered that we're literally the same tumblr user, I cannot believe that I found the old 1D crowd again and the old glee crowd AND even the old starkid people. ok, I had to google the songs from the space tour just now but it's insane that I could text someone about both status quo by starkid AND zone by 3racha.

and lastly it was OF COURSE when i fucking saw fucking stray kids in fucking person (sorry) I was so numb from everything going on, and from the heat and from newark airport that I didn't even cry but looking back on it I honestly can't even begin to believe how lucky I was to be able to do all of that in just one month.

july was the month I went to see harry styles (meh) and hang out with an old friend because of it (yay) and I have literally nothing else in my calender for the entire month but I know I was a bit stressed. however I don't think it was a terrible time.

In august I went to the south of germany on vacation to celebrat my moms birthday, we went to the opera outdoors and I felt extremely fancy the entire time and also saw so many flowers. then we started the stayblr discord.

@snug-gyu @hanjesungs @ggthydrangea @littleclouds @shmalll @babychicklix and everyone else in there! I am so glad it's a space to hang out and message each other and talk about skz. I know I left very quickly (unfortunately group situations are terrible for my mental health and I felt very bad very quickly) but I still got to start chatting with so many cool people and I'm always so happy that we did that.

@bangchanies king of the dumpster that is new jersey, my absolute favorite eyeshadow model and another one of the bitches that just get it, u know? you just get what I'm trying to say and I am grateful to have you to text when I want to be annoying. (you're also secretly incredibly sweet and I think you're honestly just a very kind and empathetic person and i would be sadder without you but i will not tell anyone that you're secretly nice)

@cheekyquokka even though you're not IN the server, I feel like we started really talking around the same time so you're getting put in here as well. you're so generous and sweet to your friends, I remember the surprise and amazement from both bee and ale at the packages you sent them, you're such a great fucking mutual to have because you know yourself and you make really cool gifs, every time one of yours comes across my dash i know it. idek why. anyway, thank you <3

around september was when I finally started the group chat and seven made it complete, so here comes that bit. I needed to make sure you all know how much you mean to me.

@bourgeoix I swear in some off-kilter way we are soulmates. you make both my fandom brain and the little kid that didn't know popstars but could draw the shape of gorbachevs blood spot feel at home. you're soooo fucking smart and we have like debated moral philosophy and learning and reasoning styles at length so I won't go into it but it's one of those amazing fated coincidences that we both befriended seven and then each other. you think it's cool that I live near to Olaf Scholz's barbershop. you're my favorite of all the nerds. I could read the stuff you write for years and years and never get bored. I need to eat your brain (as jace or seven would say) and I love that we get to be both smart and very very very dumb together.

@hyumjim I honestly cannot top what mel said but you're like. my only grown up friend. You genuinely have a patience and kindness with people that is really hard to find. I know you don't show this to everyone but it makes me all the more grateful that I get to experience it. you're also insane. when seven first added you to the gc I had sth to say that felt really crazy to me and was nervous in front of you and seven said 'emily is also insane' and so i posted it in the gc and now we're friends. i don't remember what it was but you gave great advice and i sort of feel like we disagree and fight in all the ways that makes a relationship better and you make me insecure but in a fun way. you're a huge hater and yet you genuinely love people and humanity more than most people alive. thank you for listening to me.

@jellino jace idek how to describe you but you're like....... my little brother but not in a lame way. you're also older than me in some ways. idk, I just love how much you love stuff. I love how sure you are of what you're not, even while always wondering what you are. I think of you so much when I see sea creatures and ice age characters and dumb stuff. the other day I saw a squirrel irl and i thought 'I have to send this to jace' bc it reminded me of scrat from ice age. i cannot look at a penguin without thinking about you. I don't think I'll ever go to a zoo and not think of you. I also am always hoping that you are ok, that you find your way, that you know I'm happy and proud to know you...

@bewby my love. seven. I think it will never not be complicated how much I love you because I want you to be ok so bad. but it doesn't matter if you are or not for me to love you a whole lot. you're so funny and so smart and I say neither of these things lightly, like you have such a quick wit and you want everyone to be ok so bad and you love people so much and i hope that some day you will know that it is enough and you are enough. meeting you that one time was so fun, like we literally did not need more than a half hour to find sooo much stuff to talk about. I love having a german kpoppie friend, I love your tender heart, I love how understanding you are! I hope you know how much!

honestly it's all 4 of you that got me through fall and winter so far, it's venting and bitching and joking and writing insanely long messages to you that make me feel like a human instead of a gremlin. It's knowing that you like me and think I'm someone you want to listen to. You mean so much to me, I can never pay that back.

so much happened in my personal k-pop world in october PLUS most of my friends had their birthdays too so it was a bit stressful and it ended with my great uncle dying but i did get to see my old friends and family, so it was good in the end.

november was cold and dark as always but i got to feel so much warmth in scotland, just spending a few days going to museums and coffeeshops and nothing else and then seeing my love julia for the scond time, learning about history and eating pies. then I went to london to see @sunflowercocoa again after 5 fucking years and it was so much fun. I know you know how much I love you, I had such a good time, thank you for being my friend. Thank you for making me leave the house, thank you for being generous and fun and spending time with me. I know you're strong enough to get through the next year or so and I know you're gonna be so happy and so successful and you have a great life ahead. I know you're not here much anymore and that it kind of annoys you but you were a big part of this year and this is like my diary at this point tbh.

i also met @geniaparadox my homie and so much fun to hang out with. honestly our day together kind of made me wish i could've gotten to hang out with you in high school, i feel like we would have been friends. thank you for talking to me abt how underrated felix is and for looking at the bts stuff in hmv and despair because being a k-pop fan in europe is very sad and for buying japanese tea and just being cool. i am so happy that you get to not go back to that job

december was november but worse but I started it off sososo well, seeing julia the 3rd time and going to nuremberg and munich and being slightly tipsy at the christmas market everywhere and going swing dancing for the first time and trying so many fun food and drink things. It was a sad and anxiety-inducing month because so many people I know were ill or dying but in the end we mostly made it through and I am grateful. I got to spend the end of the year surrounded by babies and puppies and it felt good to not have to deal with grown-up things for a few days and just play.

this is quite a long post so please bear with mee . . . also this may be a bit all over the place because i just do whatever T^T my first tip is to just keep practicing ! try to challenge yourself with stuff you want to improve on. i struggle the most with drawing hands, hence why in all the recent art i've posted all the poses have hands in them :') you'd find yourself discouraged sometimes, when you try to venture out of your usual drawing practice, because (1) it's difficult, and (2) it feels time-consuming – but never ever let that knock you off of the progress/goal you're working towards on ! you'll thank yourself in the future when you can finally draw anything you want with minimal struggles.

second tip is to use references ! it's ok to use references to practice how to draw a full body (and to familiarize yourself with how to proportion like how long should the arms be? how long should the neck be? did i place the legs correctly? is this perspective right?) i've recently been taking my own reference pictures (for my traditional art which i haven't really posted...) since sometimes there aren't many reference pictures on the internet that encapsulates what i want ! it's actually quite fun to do, and can be another way to challenge yourself to draw difficult perspectives/angles. in terms of fanart, i base off of the picture that i want to draw ! like in my recent HAN drawing, that was actually based off of his recent picture from bubble !

i've also recently been trying "blocking" which is where i do a rough "paint" or coloring of a piece, kind of like mapping out how i want it to look like, then later on refining the details ! (u can do this as well if you want another challenge for urself!)

third tip is to watch drawing tutorials/draw with me's on youtube ! that's what i did growing up ! they inspired me a lot, and eventually led me to finding my own art style ^^

fourth tip in growing your community or finding people who love your art? welp i truly don't feel like i'm there yet ! but if you want to find people who have the same interest as you using hashtags can do a lot ! like for me, i'm trying to find people who are also fans of stray kids, hence the tags relating to the drawing (of any member) i made !

just always keep the tags accurate ! add a tag that describes your art, is it digital? is it traditional? did you use color pencils? did you use paint? adding the tag "artists on tumblr" helps you find your fellow artists as well <3 you can also create your own art tag to help people browse through your art easily !

LASTLY, PLEASE HAVE FUN ! i find it's best to truly be interested in what you want to draw. it shouldn't feel like a chore, it should make you happy !! :)) i hope this long post helps, and i wish you the best on your art journey !!

Can I ask your opinion on shipping for non canon couples in shounen manga/anime (especially for m/m ships)?

Hi, sorry for just jumping in asking, I'm not a BL manga reader but I love MLM fanfics.....and I love your tweets on various topics, actually I may try to read BL manga one day because of you..... since a few years back, every time I watched anime, I must have fav ships (most of them are not canon because they are from shounen anime).... Do you think I'm weird? Also, do you have any ships from shounen anime/manga that you love? Sorry for this long ask, it's just that I have a long debate with my mutuals and they said, that if you love mlm ships better just read BL manga/manhwa and not "ruin" the shounen anime/manga.....

My fav ships are from BNHA, Haikyuu, Attack on Titans, and Bungou Stray Dogs....

I'M FUMING!! How dare they make you feel weird! Anti-shippers have been rampant for the past couple of years and they go around spreading the most harmful sh*t and misinformation... As for my personal opinion on the matter, I've been reading BL for more than a decade and while there have been a time where I had a more strict views on shipping, I now shamelessly ship characters who haven't even interacted in the said show because in the end... who are others to judge the way you consume a media? Once the work is completed and is released out into the ether, the consumer is free to interpret them however they want.

This freedom and detachement from the intentions of the original creator are what enable us to read a piece through, for example, a feminist/gender critical point of view and it's something I understood better through reading literary criticism. What I mean to say by that is that, for example, an author might write a historical novel that focuses on war without intentions to critique women's positions in it, but just because it wasn't their intention, it doesn't mean that one cannot read the said novel through that perspective or criticize it. The same goes for shonen: gender sure isn't at the top of mangaka's list of things that they are critical of when creating their works but any piece of art in itself is political, and the artists' depictions of their characters are open to criticism. I hope I make sense.

So full disrespect to your mutuals but if your shipping is "ruining" their engagement with the said series, then it should be your duty to ruin it more by shipping harder. We are responsible for these things and these things only: to curate our timeline & not to engage with things that trigger/make us comfortable, and to not sh*t on others' preferences.

And to conclude, I have a lot of ships I love from shonen series!! Like Yoshida x Denji from Chainsaw Man, Zeke x Levi from AoT or Nanami x Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. And sometimes I see a fanart of a ship I've never thought of myself before and become obsessed with them xD It's the kind of hell that's better with others!

I really hope you find a more comfortable circle to be in where you're welcomed for what you love and not shamed for it. Life is too damn short and challenging already to spend your energy on those kinds of people. With love ~

I will eat my own shirt if Hunter doesn’t end up crushing on Steven a bit, because I was picking up some vibes

But you know, it could also have been platonic admiration, because I too would admire someone who could navigate a bunch of exceptionally dangerous chaos like a dance without even flinching

Furthermore, Hunter picking up on the “danger” vibes immediately before actually talking to Steven, and again when he got frustrated was a nice touch, completely in character for one so terminally abused as he is

Along with the oh-so casual way he described his place by his uncle to Steven, so much so that in his perspective it wasn’t something that needed to be gone into in detail, was a VERY smart touch

Stevens reaction to that information just drove the whole point that “this boy is NOT okay” home spectacularly

Also, MK’s first impression and lines were both hilarious and completely in character for the bastard. I hope we get to meet him more officially next time next to Hunter, because I literally made a whole ass au on the concept of those two forming a brotherly bond to fill that void, and I cannot wait to see AeonChangeling’s spin on that relationship

Anyway, great chapter, VERY inspiring, I’ll be doing Wayward Strays fanart for a week or so before going back to my own au lmao

I'm typically person who enjoys everything and will suit myself with anyone's preferences. So, i guarantee our chat wouldn't be as dry. Try have some talk with me first.

I love listening to old songs, mostly 80s and 90s. It's nostalgic. My Top 3 faves are Bon Jovi, MLTR and Bryan Adams. Sleeping Child and Always are my all time favorite songs. But, beside of that, I also listen to vary genres of music such as K-Pop, J-Pop, J-Rock, slow rock, ballad and even some classical. Sometime I just go to any random playlist on Spotify.

Adding my (another) favorite musicians here, just in case we share the same interest. I love Taeyeon, Dreamcatcher, NewJeans, Eve, Yoasobi, Higedan, Cenmilli, Keshi, Sheila on 7 and Peterpan. I'm just a casual fan, casual listener. But I have biases, lol. This germ loves JiU, Danielle, Hanni and pengwin Myoui Mina.

I don't talk much about music, neither do I like to share Spotify link on timeline that often. But I love talking about movies or series. I don't have, uh, a letterboxd to share (actually i'm too lazy to edit it) but I can give you some of my recommendations if you want. Let's share our fav movies.

I also watch vary of movies. I'm ok with any genre except the heavy gore and extremely triggering one. My favs are the GOAT Harry Potter, Narnia, Sherlock Holmes both the movies and it's series, The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, Josee The Tiger and The Fish, A Silent Voice, Ghibli and of course Makoto Shinkai movies.

Besides, I'd call myself an otaku. I watch anime and read some mangas. I love typical mystery, psychological, crime anime. That's why I really love Bungou Stray Dogs! Buuuut, I watch other genre as well. I like Attack on Titan, Fruit Basket, Haikyuu!, Zankyou no Terror, Psycho Pass, K-ON!, the amazing the greatest NARUTOOOO, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, etc.

Other: I watch Vtubers. I don't catch up to all their schedules, I just watch them at my leisure time. Most of them are livers from Nijisanji (EN). I love Luxiem esp. Ike Eveland and Shu Yamino, Enna Alouette and Kuro Kurenai.

I play games, Genshin Impact is one of them. I'm currently on AR 60, dead geemu dead me, only suffer myself doing artifact farming. Anyone here wanna do some trash picking at Momiji Court? :) Anyway i'm Neuvillette main. Interested in lore, theory crafting, meta, ship, just anything about this game. My fav ships are kazuscara, xiaother, ganqing, arlebina and cynonari.

Some Genshin players are moving to Honkai Star Rail, me? I'm loyal so I play both. Currently in TL 70. I'm Kafka and Blade main. Befriend me, I'll support you with my (average) emo-chan. I'm just casual HSR player so I don't know much about it, but would love to listen you theory-dump me especially with it's lore.

one thing I think is underrated about FMA is that while May’s search for the perfect shoujo love interest, is while it is played a bit for laughs, it’s not like “her quest is stupid and she’ll never find a guy like that! girls and their stupid romantic fantasies!.”

No it’s that she’ll absolutely find a guy like that! and it’s Al. Ed isn’t remotely qualified, but Al is Fully Qualified to the be the Perfect Wholesome Shoujo Love Interest, May zeroed in on that immediately,and she was fuckin’ right and got what she wanted. She found herself a guy who’s gallant (yet troubled! They’re a bit starcrossed!), pets and kidnaps stray cats and believes firmly in being a gentleman. Arakawa was like “yeah one of my main characters is an ideal shoujo love interest. I want to stress that”. May isn’t ultimately punished for having a shoujo romance mindset in a shonen manga, she’s rewarded and Arakawa forces the reader to realize one of their leads would be pretty cute love interest in a manga aimed towards girls. I enjoy that. Delightful.

(It also forces readers, if they care to think about it, to realize Al has a pretty romance oriented mindset too, that the gag comics don’t come out of nothing. Because of all the other stuff that’s going on and the neverending horror of his life, it’s limited to little asides like “man i wanted to find a gf before I died :/” and stuff like that, but he would love to be in a shoujo romance too. He’s there already, he just got fucking sidetracked by all this other nonsense. That’s what I’m thinking is missing from the “Al was supposed to be the mc”. He is! But he’s not a shounen mc who got derailed. No, in Al’s world he’s the lead guy in a shoujo who got derailed, goddammit).

Gundam having a girl react to this line by calmly saying “yeah we all knew it would be tight get over it” rather than getting flustered and angry and in denial over the horror of being flat chested...this show truly is breaking barriers in anime.

Rewatching FMA also reminds me like, what a failure it is that My Hero Academia had that episode where Deku realized the huge emotional strain that him hurting himself and not including her in his decisions has put on his Mom and resolves to do better, but as far as I can tell the narrative completely,,, fuckin’ forgets that?

When the same basic thing happens in FMA, as far as Ed and Winry go, Ed NEVER FORGETS IT. “I will not do things that hurt Winry, and when I don’t value myself or communicate it hurts her” never stops being a thing in Ed’s mind. He still sometimes acts recklessly but then literally thinks “I fucked up better fix this I promised not to make my girlfriend cry” She is genuinely always in his thoughts.

like other shonen action manga try to replicate this but don’t do the followthrough. It’s just a one episode thing and then it’s like BYE CIVILIAN FEMALE CHARACTER BACK TO THE SHELF WE’LL NEVER THINK ABOUT YOUR NEEDS OR THE EMOTIONAL LABOR YOU DO AGAIN but Winry’s needs and the moral of valuing her emotional labor and getting her up to date on what’s happening are present throughout the whole narrative. She’s not an action hero yet she has an arc?? She’s important? this STILL is never present in all the shonen I’ve seen that have come out since, like somehow arakawa still stands out for grasping this simple concept, we haven’t gotten past this yet.

Can other shonen action manga learn about follow through please.
