ok so in part 2 we got to see more of gojo x reader past “relationship”

i wonder if gojo knows about his mom thoughts about reader (her being a one night stand and nothing more) and why do i have a feeling Naomi wasn’t just lucky to be in the right place and right time…

she’s gojo’s dad assistant AND his mom approved her immediately 🤔🤔 even though Naomi comes from a completely different social circle…

i don’t think Naomi is a saint as gojo think, not saying she’s evil either BUT she might get a little help from the outside (gojo’s mom) to act the way she does. bc how come she goes from acting shy and apologetic when reader found them in the couch, to give reader tips how to be a better parent and allowing yui to call her mom 🤥🤔 make it make sense

like who in the right mind would take a toddler on a trip without both parents permission?? in many countries that could be considered kidnapping even if one parent is with the baby and they dont cross the border! - when i was six i went abroad with my mom and in order for me to travel, my dad had to sign a written permission otherwise i couldn’t exit the country and my parents were married…

gojo pissing me off when he was trying to defend naomi for the mama episode by saying he will propose to her…like that doesn’t change anything reader IS the mother and eventually naomi will be the STEPMOTHER she would still have NO say in how Yui will be educated bc she has/will have NO legal rights. she can give her opinion/suggestions to gojo BUT NEVER to reader.

Gojo has to open his eyes bc if he’s truly happy with Naomi - i don’t really think so - good for him but he has to stop making reader’s feel like shit just bc his gf goes crying to him when reader doesn’t share the same opinion as her. i also noticed as soon as gojo doesn’t share the same opinion about something, naomi becomes sad and gojo tries to either reassure her or slightly changes his own opinion 🤥🤔👁️ my mom would call that manipulation 👁️

Honestly speaking Naomi is the easy route, what were the chances they got together if reader never got pregnant? bet gojo would still be having one night stands and wouldn’t spare naomi a glance.

The reason why gojo x reader didn’t work was because they were two strangers having a kid and didn’t communicate with each other. gojo was the first to give up even tho he promised reader to give it a try. bc how come soon after he got with naomi and she was oh so perfect 🥴 how can you possibly compare the two relationships when one has a kid involved…

so the mysterious man could be sukuna (bc of the tattoos).

it’s been weeks since the last argument, reader was clearly suffering (her mom’s words to gojo)…

that’s why i don’t think in that specific moment (a stranger man opening - shirtless- readers door to gojo) the man could be a possible love interest, maybe more like a friend bc she was still in love with gojo and a few weeks can’t possibly erase her feelings for him and make her move on easily, some people can do it tho (i.e gojo with his new gf 🙄)

also from the last sentence why do i have a feeling gojo has already met this “stranger” before?

the scratches in the stranger’s back scream sex but the bruises on his face? it’s a bit sus

last but not least contrary to popular opinion i still wish for gojo to be endgame, for that to happen he really has to have a gigantic redemption arc for all tje pain he caused to reader, specially when he said he wished they never met and had yui together, thanks good yui is still a toddler and was sleeping otherwise 💔 rip gojo’s relationship with his daughter

Hello! This kind of thing is hard to give advice on but I'll try my best :D! It's kinda like asking what kind of clothes will make you feel the most confident when only you know for sure what makes you comfortable and what doesn't. But I can definitely give you my opinions on glasses and what I feel best in and maybe you can take it into consideration.

(EDIT: OH MY GOD. I wrote a good bit about choosing glasses to feel nice in but I just read the ask again and it's possible you've already gotten them. Just scroll down to the bottom of the ask and I'll talk a bit about that if it's the case.)

You worry about not liking the way you'll look with glasses. That's okay, I've been wearing them since I was little so I feel really ugly without them. It's fine to feel a little insecure. But hopefully you'll find a pair that you think you like nice in!!

For the first ten years of wearing glasses, I had really small, thin wiry ones. Blegh. No wonder I felt so ugly during that time. They were not it. Was looking like this bitch.

But just cuz I didn't like the way they looked on me doesn't automatically mean you won't! Everyone's face is different.

Size matters (HAH) to me. I feel more happy and confident with the way my face looks with glasses depending on how big they are. I like how big glasses look. So when I was 18 I got THESE frames

And I liked them a lot!! I decided I like big wide glasses. So any frames I got from this point forward would look kinda like this.

However!! I kinda regretted the colour. It's like having a big big blocky border around your face dulls it a bit. So when I got new ones a few years later, I wanted them to be lighter. To brighten up the face area. These ones!!

They're pink!!! Or red maybe. But they're pink to ME!!! They are also EVEN BIGGER than the black pair I had. They're HUGE asgdbjnk. And I love them huge. The bigger the better. They're not really circular but they're also kinda roundish and I like that too.

So I guess think about the size, shape and colour. Would you like something more subtle like a small pair? Would you like them big and round? Getting them in a colour that you like Would definitely help!!

The thickness of the frames also matters. Maybe, since you're a little worried about how you'll look wearing them, you'd like something thinner? More subtle? Something in a pale colour/or without much of a border at all? Something that doesn't hide your face

I kinda want glasses that look like this. I want thin gold ones like Miss Willow Park from hit Disney channel show the Owb Houb. However I don't really have that option. I'm borderline blind so I need the thick plastic frames to hold the thick as fuck lenses ahsbdjnk.

But since this is your first pair your eyes probably aren't nearly as bad and you have way more options!!

OKAY!! So if you've already chosen your glasses and are still worried about how you're going to look in them.

Alright, there are never any easy answers to this problem. How to get over not liking the way you look. People definitely like to pretend it's easy, that "Love yourself! Everyone is beautiful! :)" are these magic words that will suddenly rewire our brains into being happy and content with ourselves after a lifetime of feeling like the odd one out. When some people are put on a pedestal for how they look and some are not. It's hard to say physical ugliness doesn't exist when it's been beaten into everyone's heads that it does.

Despite everyone's best efforts to dismantle the concept of beauty standards, they persist relentlessly. They're roots in our brains, roots in society, and they're roots made of iron. So it is nobody's fault for being unsatisfied with themselves even after trying for so long to forcibly inject some girlboss confidence into their bloodstream. Its hard. It will always be hard.

If self love isn't easy at the start, aim for self neutrality. Just not hating is a good place to start.

It seems like you're not comfortable with yourself without glasses, so maybe if we start with that, your face with glasses will be way easier to accept.

In the end, you only have the one face to get you through this lifetime. And it's a lifetime you will waste if you spend it wishing it was different.

Everyone's face is a rearrangement of facial features, none of which are inferior to anyone else's, no matter what we've been mentally trained to believe.

You're a masterpiece all on your own. Every feature on your face belonged to someone in your family who came before you. Every feature you have was once adored by someone else. Specifically because it was a feature that belonged to a very wonderful person.

One day there will be someone who loves you more than anything. They'll love you so much than when they see a face that even looks remotely like yours they'll think that it's beautiful.

If it helps, mess around with your appearance a little. What colours do you like? Patterns? Skirts? Button up shirts? Long hair? Short hair? Dyed hair? Cardigans? Jangly jewelry? Figure out what's the most beautiful to you and add them to yourself. If you don't like your face, drown it out with what you do like. Until it gets to the point where its so distinctly you that you couldn't imagine this whole look without your face attached to it.

If you get to that point where you can feel happy with how you look as your default, then sliding a pair of glasses on and off shouldn't make much of a difference.

Thank you for telling me you like my writing and my posts. You seem sweet. I'm sure that's what people think when they're reminded of you. I'm sure that's what the guy you mentioned thinks. How can a person really be ugly if you associate their face with warmth and kindness?

I've known for a while that I like fat bodies, my own, my partner's, others', but it felt like something I had to keep quiet even within my own mind. What part of the rw lore do you find most interesting? Like..what are your thoughts on it? any twists you've thought up or any detail/s you just wanna rant abt?

The rainworld lore is painfully a lot and painfully little at the same time, like why are the pearls focused on garbage worms and what is noise milking oh my goddd

moon isnt lore on her own but her pearl readings are a massive source of it. so if i had to say my favorite thing would be iterators and the relationship they had with their colonies. the fact they can vary and the fact iterators have different opinions of their parents!! (one iterator talked abt havjng to sit through dark political times awkwardly like 🧍🤷 at some points. thats funny)

ahem I looove it a lot!! for example the way moon worded her existence is sad. the way she speaks about them is sad. like in short “ancients must not try very hard so we do that for them. at least i did” <- smth along the lines

she sounds bitter she dislikes them with a hidden passion even when she has 5 braincells left. Not to mention she calls them parasites with bad takes (sheesh). something people dont really ?? recognize enough or at all imo is that moon almost retired (ancients moving away from her city) and she was happy about it. I am genuinely curious: hypothetically, how do you think Soap does on solo missions vs missions where he's working with another person or a group of people? Short term vs long term?

soap in canonverse is kinda my weakest point with him which is funny bc thats where hes From but i also have the buff of gf who knows a lot abt uk military shit so when i dont know i can just ask her LMAO but! just from my opinion. hmm

i think soap solo works just fine, he probably enjoys having the space to solve problems however he wants and not have to go through others/worry abt the rest of the squad/etc so being given the ability to stretch his legs and run through his hypotheticals with no speed bumps is great to him. he probably gets bored more often in the downtime bc he doesnt have anyone to shoot the shit with but hes still skilled and disciplined enough to just keep on track and let his mind wander to occupy himself. longterm though i think hed find it extremely dull bc he does Like working with others, hes good for solo missions on occasion and his record of them is probably pretty clean and well executed but he is a social creature and would start to wither with too many

this is partially bc of my headcanon that soap has many siblings who he has a good relationship with But if think about it. soap obviously does well with a partner and does well in a squad - he took to alejandro rudy and graves super quick, part bc military boiz im sure - but the ability to smoothly be able to slot into group dynamics both as someone who can follow orders And give his own like. to my sibling brain that screams Good Sibling Who Got Along With His Siblings yk?? growing up that way really puts your brain into that setting of "its not just me. i have to think about these other people." imo. an extremely roundabout way of saying i think soap thrives in partnered missions bc he works well with the social aspect of being able to talk to others and form plans together, either putting his own ideas forward and working w whoever is higher rank than him (like ghost or price) or being able to make sure the rest of the squad is following along with the plan. soap To Me is a very hypothetical thinker as if said/written a hundred times so i think there can be friction when he has to follow a plan he doesnt agree with or sees differently, not necessarily just bc he likes to buck authority (which he does) but bc he just likes to optimize his thinking and follow through with it. he would ultimately fall in line but anything that goes wrong on those kind of missions would probably send him into a bit of a rage spiral afterwards bc he knew itd happen and his leo Take Charge brain is rankled by the fact he wasnt able to do what he thought was best due to chain of command or something. long term though i think he definitely works best with at least one partner (ghost its ghost the love of his life ghost) bc having both encouragement and restraint in the form of someone else keeps his thinking straightest and satisfies his brain from getting bored and wandering

ok im going try to write my initial thoughts on mutant mayhem, MASSIVE TMNTMM SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT obviously!! another note is that a lot of these arent final ofc, just my first reaction! i will def be on the lookout for a closer investigation of these points by people smarter than me, i just need to write these down. ok lets go

ill start with the exceptional positives :-) the animation was STUNNING and the fight scenes and chase sequences??????/ fuckin breathtaking!!! i think the dynamic btwn the turtles was rly fun too :-) and an interesting take on leo's whole leader situation! like that scene where the guys were surprised that hes on board with the hero plan,,, i also rly liked the little nods to other iterations, like when in the end raph said hes glad his brothers are the last thing hes gonna see before dying felt so similar to what 2014 raph said in a very similar situation and it was fun to notice hehe. also i know donnie having a purple hoodie is pretty generic but i like to think it was a callback to rise donnie :-) AND I CRIEDDDD WHEN THE HUMANS STARTED HELPING THEM OUT IN ANY WAY THEY COULD,,, THAT WAS SO SWEET AND I LOVE THIS SORT OF THING IN SUPERHERO MOVIES,,

now as for negatives. not a fan of the milking gag 😬 it just made me kinda uncomfortable tbh. so upset abt baxter dying right off the bat :-( idk if it wouldve been bad for the narrative or whatever but i just wish he survived. and its kinda. weird that the ONLY character to die in this movie was him idk. also not feelin great about all the mutants introduced in the movie being siblings/cousins???? especially since splinter ended up dating the cockroach lady?...... like. superfly's group all consider each other siblings and they consider the turtles their cousins and splinter is the turtles' dad so. like i know its a cartoon and its not that deep but i Do Not Like That. really fucking wish they used literally anything other than ao/t for donnie's anime of interest. come on man. also really wish the puking wasnt. like that. or wasnt there at all. man. maybe its just me idk. and finally! got some mixed feelings on the conclusion with superfly. LIKE. yes obviously the goal of murdering all humans on earth is Bad but ultimately his point was that humans cant accept the existence of mutants. and i mean. his point was kinda proven over and over again throughout the movie? and literally the only reason the mutants (minus superfly) were welcomed into society or whatever was because they helped defeat "a bad mutant". but that. sends a weird message? i think? bc like. so if youre just existing as someone different from others, people can just outcast you and thats totally cool and fine and if you want to be accepted you have to be useful to them in some way? i dont think thats a very good message gdkjfgd,,, idk maybe its not that deep either but it left me feeling kinda. wondering how long this would even last,, which sounds pretty pessimistic but i hope im getting my point across.

thats all i had to say on the matter for now! once again, im looking forward to reading more different opinions on this movie and im hoping someone mentions any of this so i know im not insane <3 ig let me know what u think if u think its important? im always always willing to learn

"you can’t apply real world logic to the fake tv show"

we all unconciously apply "real world logics" to the fiction we read/see/talk about all the time. it's how we make sense of the fiction we read and the millions of opinions thrown at us.

what is implied by "logic"? I'm sure what we understand as our "real world logic" is vastly different from person to person. in my world cousin incest is encouraged. in my world my mother was married of at 15 to a 30 year old. does "logic" mean "modern belief system"? again I'd wager you use your modern belief system to interpret your fiction as well. (hell, historians/academics/anthropologists are trained to refuse the urge of applying modern belief systems and cultural universalism because doing that is so ingrained in us as humans to the point entire belief systems are build on it.) unless you're doing some specific reading feat. your applied academic theory/philosophy/politic/thruline of choice.

if the meaning of "you can’t apply real world logic to the fake tv show" is "oh 10 yos were historically expected to b breeding eager! (again what history are u using? surely not the one grrm is using.... which is barely any. if one at all lol) so don't question it! move on to the next scene - oh look a grown ass man kicking and manhandling an alcoholic child! they dont make them badass lil kids like they used to! oh look the gay man is sad bcs he cant make babies in the pseudo-historical fantasy world :( :D haha surely never happens in our real world! i mean back then, sureeee, but not today!" dont get me wrong. nobody HAS TO be appalled by 10yo aemond just as nobody has to be appalled by 14yo alicent being "groomed" either. because remember that's the "applied-real-life-logic" fallacy! wouldn't want to do that to our precious incest drama. keep ur brain at home when u visit the dragon and incest and child grooming show guys!

is my pointing out that aemond might be written as a character study or perhaps even a cautionary tale abt boys indoctrinated at a young age "applied-real-life-logic"? that's just a reading of a modern text parading as a historical text (!) with a consciousness towards the present modern issue of historical revisionism among young people. grrm loves his dragon, he loves his operatic incest dramas, but he also loves his societal critic. and sometime she mixes them all up for funsies. or is asoiaf and co's anti-war stance smh not "applied-real-world-logic"? or is being appalled by war somehow an acceptable presentist reading and cultural universalist stance but being appalled by a 10 yo groomed by adults around him to fuck good and make pure babies all while spewing supremacist shit is not? or was it the clumsy form and casual tone of a 50 words anon written in maybe 5 min of the latter that's not to ur liking

the characterization of aemond as a 10 yo was not pulled outta thin air either. my pointing out that aemonds speech and behaviour at 10 have much in common with 4channers and lil wannabe hitler youths is not that far fetched. sure you're free to disagree but throwing that "apply real world logic" falacy at someone for a reading you disagree with is just vacant. aemond is not a historical figure in which case I would be deeply averse to presentism and universalism and would be much more cautious in my reaction/tone towards behaviour that I deem deeply disturbing on various levels.

Of course I'm not going to delete your rant; you took great pains to write it and your points are as valid as anyone else's. Thank you for being so open with aspects of your own culture. I do agree with your stance that we are inadvertently influenced by own belief system whenever we interact with a piece of media or a written text. This fictional universe exists in the here-and-now and it would be kind of pointless if we weren't ever allowed to analyse it through a more sophisticated modern lens & just kept everything at "medieval morality" level all the time, so as to not be anachronistic.

However, I do feel like these two views can be reconciled somehow. I honestly think what the anon was trying to convey by the "real-life logic" comment was that 10-year-old Aemond is, in effect, also a prop for the showrunners to introduce narrative or thematic elements that they may want to develop later, not just a random little boy parroting ideology he doesn't fully understand.

Thus, little Aemond can be propagandized by other family members into believing Targaryen hype, including the joys & wonders of targcest, agreed. But, at the same time, he is also a character in a TV show, whose lines are written by someone, with framing decided by someone. There is authorial intent behind his appearances on screen, not everything is naturalistic, so to speak. And sometimes decisions pertaining to characters (especially those with little screen time) tend to be strategic. Meaning that, yes, the show is pointing out the consequences of targcest fascistoid indoctrination. But, it is also possible it wants to lay the building blocks for a future Helaena-Aemond dynamic and is using that scene to shoot two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Which is to say that if the authors (scriptwriters, directors, producers) wanted to introduce the audience to the possibility of helaemond, this is one way to do it. Little Aemond is being directed to stare wistfully at Helaena while imagining how cool it would be to marry her. This is where subtext comes into play. And, because we're speaking of cues and innuendo, different people may interpret it differently. This is not to say that helaemond is a certainty, only that various visual storytelling hints have been employed, should they want to pick this thread up again in the future. I doubt that these two actors just so happened to come up with these acting choices on their own in one big coincidence.

If this were real-life and Aemond an actual person pining after his sister, perhaps these interactions wouldn't have occurred in the same manner. He would have looked at Aegon when having a conversation with him. He would have kept an eye on Jace and Helaena without physically moving his chair. These can very well be details added by the show-runners to subtly communicate something to us. Of course we can disagree on the nature of that information, but, from a logistical standpoint, it makes sense that they'd want to keep their options open, test the waters, and only in later seasons commit to a a certain path.

Hey I came across ur abortion post and I understand what u mean but a lot of the time women are screening for genetic conditions that physical impair and greatly hinder the quality of life like cystic fibrosis where the life expectancy is incredibly low, not just that a child may be born blind. And a lot of these conditions mean the child will never be able to live independently and unfortunately in our ableist society cost lot of money to just live. I’m pretty heavily disabled and if my parents couldn’t afford to take care of me I would be dead ( not to get to heavy) but in my opinion I don’t understand why u would have a child who u know would be disabled, like why wouldn’t u want to give ur child the best quality of life? (my parents never screened)I feel this even more with people who wouldn’t be able to afford to, like to me that is even more irresponsible, and of course u can become disabled at any point but I have to emphasis it is every different to being knowingly brought into the world disabled,

it’s alot of suffering and if you do not have the money or resources to give ur child a great quality of life ( which most people don’t!) idg why u wouldn’t abort. It’s not actually killing, that’s like pro choice argument number 1 . I feel like when other disabled people seen women abort foetuses with their disability it’s a knee jerk emotional reaction to that which makes them say dumb shit like ‘eugenics’ and other misogynistic shit but it’s a hard pill to swallow that people want the best for their kids and pretending like we don’t suffer or society is built for us is stupid. So it’s not just about whether u would be willing to take care of the child but more importantly it’s about the child themselves, what about their quality of life? What about their suffering? what i was saying was any child can become a child that needs 24/7 care. brain injuries, full body paralysis from spinal injuries, blindness from an accident, all of these can happen after birth. plus unscreenable disorders exist, not everything can be picked up.

im not saying you should be forced to have a disabled baby. what im saying is: if you dont want a disabled baby, should you have a baby at all?

also i know the world isnt built for disabilities, even with my minor disability life is hard. i know having a disabled baby is costly but that is just something you have to consider when wanting a child PERIOD.

im asking a simple enough question, what if you had an abortion bc you didnt want a disabled baby, got pregnant again with a healthy fetus, and then after it was born you got into an accident and the baby was permanently disabled? instead of relying on abortion for something like that, you should be prepared to have a disabled baby no matter what, right?

its a complicated issue... i dont know what i would do.

i saw posts joking around about abusing a disabled child if they werent allowed to abort it. what would the people who make those kind of jokes do if they got the healthy baby they wanted and it developed a disability later? i dont think people who "joke" about abusing disabled children should be having children at all tbh...

i wish kataang was written better in the show (MY opinion if any1 stumbles upon this). i don't ~ship~ zutara bc i am an adult and even back then no cos who cares lol but i see the appeal and am attracted to that. i do think we have to retire the trope of the "both sides but falling in love" not because it isn't possible but because post 10/7 (free palestine) i don't think it's worth it to look at it this way anymore. until someone proves themselves not worthy of death because of the resistance fighting back then they NEED TO PROVE THEMSELVES IMMEDIATELY. no more of this i'm in a concentration camp but he's a nazi bullshit. no more i'm a slave but he's the slave master's son (i mean in this case u could have been related but no1 listens to me!) it's repetitive, reductive, and untrue.

katara is such a complex character and mae whitman brings a wisdom to her voice that can be frustrating to connect with for me but her character arc, her strength, her MIND, her heart, and her fists. i think ppl probs like zutara the most when shes' going batshit and no one can understand aang's perspective. but aang is one of a kind and the cutest smartest sweetest loser ever. not my fav char but i love him. he's like if i had a younger brother and not an older one lmao.

of course they're (kataang) together. they were meant to be from the moment they saw e/o and that stupid cave kiss...this is why you don't wait until 32 to watch this lol.

but nothing surprised me and it was meant to be the way it was written. that's also why i find it understandable but shocking people in the universe and apparently outside of it were surprised at aang's turmoil over ozai. like are you joking? he's a 12 year old vegetarian monk. which: i loved his vegetarianism and obviously he was going to be but very casually they put in a line that hints as to why he would be and why many of us are...so i am dedicated to it again.

so wrt that and zutara...the episode where he's with her with the dude that killed her moms and his support of her i can see why people like them. the cave ep obviously but this show is veryyyyy free with affection i noticed and there's some jealousy but they all get over that pretty quickly. i read some of the comics and i could see different rships happening and i definitely think this world lends to queerness (me personally i love monogamy but a certain type lol so not rly interested in much poly but i do like a throuple) but i could see most being bi+ or having identified as that in the past, or labeling themselves but nto limiting. that's just an aside for meee...

so like katara was being katara. i could see suki and zuko being romantic but also a deep friendship that could be deeply affectionate either affect or physically or both bc that's who these ppl are. katara is a very intense person and that's part of why she can be annoying. that's part of why they ALL can be overwhelming. theyre intense, traumatized, repressed kids and teens with mostly good hearts (or just a person so disconnected from herself but also a fascist so u know. her going nuts lol)

So I went with 3 other teachers who I've been texting for a few months and we seem to get along great over text. But in person is a different story. Two girls are 30 y/o and I have lost so much respect for them ngl. One of them is a dramatic brat (as she calls herself) and cannot live by her own philosophies. Like bruh, I can't even respect your differing opinions if you're not gonna live by them. And the other teacher is super insecure and is constantly asking for validation. Not to mention they got drunk until 4:30am the night before the concert. Like fine if you drink, but I DO care if you make MY life harder by being hungover on the day of the concert. AND I was sharing a hotel bed with one teacher and she accidentally took someone else's phone from the bar and the phone WOULDN'T TURN OFF and they called 25 TIMES!!!! So because she couldn't wake up from the alcohol, I HAD TO DEAL WITH THE PHONE. ARGHHHH. She didn't even fucking apologize.

DRUNK AT 4:30 AM??? THEY GOT NO SLEEP IN THEM????? WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD NIGHT LETS HEAD TO BEAD

Also, apparently, my American-ness was making me seem super sassy and blunt because they're from other countries and it caused some tension because they were reading bad intentions into my speech. Like I won't claim to have good social skills, but I'm not trying to be rude to you. Before this weekend, I actually LIKED them.

Your tags are always great, but the one where you mentioned Hotch cheating on Haley being a thing you just can't see - I love you for that. I get that people are entitled to their own interpretations but that's one I've always struggled to see - how do you see a guy who admits to planning to 'confront' his father (who he clearly dislikes) for cheating on his mother (and see how, while their marriage definitely had Problems, he did clearly still love Haley even after the divorce) and go, yeah that seems like a guy who'd totally cheat on his wife.

but for people's actual headcanons about the character?? again--people are entitled to their own opinions--but im also allowed to call you wrong aksjdhfglksh like i just completely disagree. its just something that really says a lot about what kind of character he is, and if you think he'd do something like that, we're not even looking at the same character anymore. for him to do something like that is so fundamentally contradictory to who i see him as. thats the kind of stuff that will make me look away and just not engage bc its just someone completely different from the character i care about so much. its easier for all of us if we just dont interact bc our perspectives are like oil and water--we'll just never agree bc we view the core of his character in ways that are worlds apart

there are a lot of different interpretations i do like! of course i have my own preferences. and its easier for me personally to focus on one linear (or two similar) story for him just for consistency's sake. i think he's not telling the whole truth in that ashes and dust scene you mentioned, i have my whole intricate backstory created for him, i think hotch and haley loved each other but i think they did the right thing getting a divorce and that both of them deserve to move on and find their own happiness.

that being said, i love seeing people explore different possibilities. we've gotten so much and so little about hotch's childhood that there are a million ways we can put the pieces together, and it's fascinating to see what others come up with. some people like the idea of hotch and haley as this tragic romance: soulmates who never got to see the end of their journey. there are endless possibilities on what hotch's family was like growing up and what those early relationships were like for him, and each one inspires me to look at things a different way and tweak my own perspective. there are some really creative and beautiful takes people have on who hotch is and it's so so interesting to hear about unique interpretations

i dont want to come across as someone who only cares about their own ideas. i mean i think im right aksjdhglas not gonna deny that but i never want to minimize the value of different viewpoints or discredit someone's opinion. there are just levels to the way i may disagree: i can appreciate a headcanon that differs from my own, i can enjoy someone else's story and try to incorporate my favorite aspects into my own, and i can ignore ones i flat out disagree with. its okay to have different opinions, but its just as acceptable to disengage from interpretations that you don't like. especially for something as insignificant as headcanons for a character on a serial cop show that ended X years ago

The invincible comic is like super gratuitous with its violence so much so I'm shocked the show was able to adapt it in a faithful way! Dont know if you answered this yet, but whats your opinion of MCU Yelena?

i haven’t seen the movie but i’ve read spoilers/seen/promos/gifs/other people’s recollections of it so make of that what u will.

first off i think the casting is great so no complaints there

and that’s where my no complaints policy kind of stops because there’s really not much that’s very yelena about her at all??

her relationship with nat is very watered down and simplified and really that does both of them an injustice because they’re grown adult women and they have a relationship that’s a lot more complicated than grew up together sisters besties like this is the mcu so i can’t say i expected much but it’s frustrating

616’s yelena has this huge overarching theme of like. identity. ie who and what the black widow name means, what it means to her specifically and the difference between being THE black widow and being a girl raised in the red room trained to be a “black widow”

like. yelena is nat’s “equal or better” wrt skill but the point is it isn’t JUST about skill, and yelena was still young and abrasive and hard headed and couldn’t understand why she couldn’t beat nat but there’s also a line from nat about how “a spy is very difficult to stop once she’s found what makes her unique” and THAT is what yelena’s arc is about

but mcu yelena has none of that??? they’re not bothered about defining who yelena is as opposed to nat, or who she is to the black widow name but they’ve never done that with nat either like. they rarely refer to her as the black widow, we don’t know where the name came from, we don’t know how nat was deemed worthy of it so how are they gonna deal with it in regards to yelena?

if they do her taking the name to homage her dead sister then that’s just. a completely different fucking character??? yelena was primarily an antagonist to begin with, meant to reflect natasha’s character in a black mirror kind of way with yelena caught up in the Literals and origins of the black widow as opposed to herself as the black widow so idk it’d be meaningless to me for that to happen because the conflict and turmoil would come from the very predictable place of Am I Good Enough instead of i KNOW i’m good enough and i’m going to prove it. prime example of the mcu just not having the range

yelena doesn’t WANT to be free of where she came from or what’s been done to her. she’s proud of it in a way and as much as she begrudgingly admires nat in a lot of ways, she’s disappointed in what she’s become ie spy to avenger and that’s what makes her and their relationship so unique from a character perspective because nat’s TRYING to save her and do something we all objectively know is better for her but she doesn’t see that she has any problems because she’s so caught up in it

where IS that in the mcu??? she’s so soft and empty of any real uniqueness or anything that separates her from natasha. i saw someone say she reads more like the oc from that black widow teen novel or whatever it was and they were RIGHT they’ve made her so much more palatable for a big screen audience n it’s just not her. she’s just seems like a shallow nat 2.0. there’s none of her begrudgingly learning that she is in fact a person with inherent value not just valuable to her country as a spy

the revelation that she’s a victim and has been abused by this organisation comes very simply to her and then that’s just. that. it doesn’t change the trajectory of her character or make her rethink things

one thing i will say is that they kind of captured her personality??? yelena is a lot more matter of fact and biting in her responses. she doesn’t use theatrics or her sexuality like nat does and i can kind of see that in the ‘that’s disgusting’ bit w the pose??? its just in that stupid ass humour way they’ve have to do everything in the mcu

idk there was just no nuance to her imo. and it didn’t leave her w much room to grow or change other than maybe she’ll be the black widow to honour nat one day which comics yelena would absolutely never do
