The final season of The Flash has been so disappointing...
There have been some small moments, I’ll admit that. It was great to see Oliver in tonight’s episode, a great callback to the origin of the Arrowverse! But aside from that, season nine has been so...ick?...bleh...UGH!
Tumblr media
It feels like the writers were just phoning it in and didn’t care anymore about how the show--and ultimately the Arrowverse--ended and I think it’s a true disservice to the fans.
Characters we love are being written off or killed off, and then forgotten about. Caitlin died off-screen and no one grieved her. Joe left town but they didn’t want to write off Cecille, so they have a weird arrangement for a couple raising a little girl.
Little to no effort to acknowledge characters from previous seasons like Cisco. No one ever talks about him even though he and Barry were so close. Why the hell wouldn’t he be at their baby shower or Barry’s 30th birthday?!
Introducing characters that we won’t even have time to get to know or care about like Khione.
The Red Death storyline was terrible with bad writing and bad acting.
Random villains we barely remember keep showing up. Seriously I have look them up because this show was never really good with “Previously On...” recaps
A ridiculous “will they/won’t they/who cares” between Chester and Allegra
Cameos from side characters from the Arrowverse, instead of committing to bring in the bigger characters. Like bringing in Nia but not Kara. And Diggle has been dropping in on all the shows as if they’re teasing a spin-off or something. Was he going to be the Green Lantern at some point? WTF?
Finally...Failure to follow through on the Hall of Justice. seriously...if this is the end of the official Arrowverse, they should’ve used this opportunity to tie things up. “Superman & Lois” is doing well but they haven’t relied heavily on the Arrowverse tie-ins. “Legends of Tomorrow” was canceled with a freaking cliffhanger. Honestly...”Stargirl” seemed like it was taking place on another Earth but it did a better job of honoring the Justice Society of America in their last episode, than Arrowverse was with the Hall of Justice.
UGH! I’m just so frustrated! I’ve never been so disappointed in a show I’ve followed and loved from the beginning. It almost makes me feel like I wasted my time watching and loving this show....all for the network and writers to put out a final season that shows they have no idea how it was supposed to end and now it just needs to be put out of it’s misery.

Happy friday!! Might I spring a "Varric x Cassandra Modern AU" on you?
Happy Friday, Platoon! I give to you, for @dadrunkwriting , a coffee date.
Rating: PG
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1539
0o0oo0
This was not a date.
No matter how many times her friend at the office, Josie, said otherwise, this wasn’t a date. Cassandra and Xbow_lvr had been online friends for years; just because they were finally meeting in person didn’t mean they were ‘dating,’ right?
Right?
She bit her lip, scanning the tables at the local coffee house, the Herald’s Rest. This was not a date. Cassandra Allegra Portia Calogera Filomena Pentaghast was a reporter, a seeker of truth and justice: she had no time for romance, no matter how much of a hopeless romantic she was—
She referenced the text again on her phone. ‘Red shirt, gold quill pin, blond hair.’ No one seemed to match that description; did she have the wrong coffee house? How many ‘Herald’s Rests’ were there here in Haven?
“Ahem.”
She jumped, whirling on her heel. There was no one behind her, yet the sound—
“Down here,” a gravelly voice said. It was warm, burnished like smooth Antivan whiskey. Cassandra did as she was told; a neatly dressed, bespectacled dwarf looked up at her through his polished tortoiseshell frames, bearing a tray of coffee and pastries. His ensemble—a smart crimson shirt paired with a rich brown suit jacket and jeans—spoke of casual elegance. Her eyes widened: there was only one dwarf whose smirk was so roguishly charming; she had admired in the author’s portrait on the back of her favorite romance novel:
Varric Tethras.
Cassandra stared. That was impossible, she told herself; why would a celebrity ever meet her at a coffee shop? She was no one special, just a reporter: the man before her bore an uncanny resemblance to the portrait, it was true, but surely she must be mistaken—
A gold feather pin glittered from his lapel, and Cassandra’s face went hot.
“C-Crossbow?” She blurted. The man chuckled, his laugh reminding her of summer sunshine.
“Seeker,” he replied, “we meet at last. Come on, I have a table.” Her friend led the way to a quiet, sunny booth near the window. Cassandra followed, making last minute adjustments to her toilette.
“Of all the days to wear heels,” she whispered, peeking at the pointed-toe pumps Josie had insisted she wear. “He must think me a giant—” Her ankle turned, unused to the Antivan stilettos her friend had lent her. Cassandra wobbled, catching herself before it was too noticeable.
Or so she thought…
“I’m surprised, Seeker,” Crossbow said, setting the table. “You never came off as a stiletto girl, to me.”
She slid into the booth, face no doubt as red as the foolish red lipstick Josie had helped her buy in preparation for this meeting. “I’m not. My…friend lent them.” He nodded sagely, offering a tall cup. Warm spices wafted up to her.
“I remembered you said you like Rivaini spice tea in the writing server,” he supplied, “ ‘extra cream, and a half—’”
“‘Half a packet of sugar,’” they finished together. Cassandra scoffed a laugh, “you remembered that?”
He shrugged, “when it comes to you, Seeker, I remember everything.” Was that a slight…blush creeping into his cheeks? Crossbow took a swig of coffee—an admirable feat, considering Herald’s Rest was notorious for their lava-hot beverages—no doubt to disguise his fluster. Cassandra smirked into her cup, savoring her tea; it really was just how she liked it. No one at the office—not even Josie—could make it according to her preference. And yet here was Crossbow, making it perfectly the first time they met. Its significance wasn’t lost on her…
“How is your latest article going?” Crossbow was asking. “You mentioned on chat it was giving you trouble.”
She sighed, “Ugh, that disaster. I envy you and your novels: reporting on Orlesian politics is nowhere as interesting. Gaspard and Celene are still at each other’s throats, even so close to the Winter Palace gala. Tweeter is on fire with their insults: apparently Gaspard’s mother is a nug, and his father smells of gooseberries.”
He chuckled, “it’s ‘Twitter,’ Seeker. A ‘Tweeter’ is someone who uses the app.” He cut a pastry in half, “you have Orlesian nobles, and I have the Champion butting heads with the Viscount. External forces of conflict abound this week, it seems!”
She perked up at the mention of his newest work. “The Champion will go up against the Viscount of Kirkwall? Tell me more!”
The way Crossbow lit up when explaining the plot was…Cassandra found herself captivated by his passion. She understood his almost boyish enthusiasm; wordsmithing and writing, even all these years later, still made her heart smile. A good poem or turn of sentence made her giddy like a schoolgirl. The fact that Crossbow also found them thus was delightful…and very sexy of him, she had to admit.
“I’m planning a twist at the end,” he was saying. “Anders asks Hawke to help him find ingredients for a potion, but it’s actually—”
“No spoilers!” She interrupted. “I want to read it myself!”
Crossbow smirked, “signing up for beta-reading, are we? I’m honored.”
Cassandra felt her face go hot. “I-I must ensure you don’t ruin my favorite character,” she replied. “Hawke deserves a happy ending with Ferris—”
He stifled a laugh. “Fenris, Seeker.”
“But just think: two warriors standing side by side at the end of the world, sharing one last kiss before fighting their way out: how romantic!” She sighed happily, “I can just hear Fenris now: ‘don’t die, Hawke: I couldn’t bear to lose you. nothing could be worse than living without you.’ And then he’d sweep her off her feet and—what are you doing?”
Crossbow was typing furiously on his phone, “go on: this is good stuff,” he said, encouraging her. “Then what?” They always bounced ideas off each other online like this; it was one of the best parts of being friends…
Except the warmth blooming in her chest reminded Cassandra that she wasn’t entirely satisfied with them being ‘just friends,’ and that realization was simultaneously exhilarating and frightening.
She bit her lip in thought,  “then… he sweeps her off her feet—”
“She’s too tall for sweeping; she’s taller than him,” he pointed out.
“Oh. Then have them kiss… passionately, Crossbow. We want drama; up the stakes.”
He grinned, his thumbs barely keeping up with her words. “But of course, my lady: all the more to devastate our readers with once Hawke takes an arrow—”
She almost choked on her tea. “She what?! Crossbow!”
He chuckled, a mischievous gleam danced in his eyes, “but angst sells, Seeker!” A cheerful ringtone interrupted them.
“Shit, it’s my agent. I have to take this, sorry. One sec,” he said, swiping the screen. “Tethras speaking—”
She almost aspirated her tea. Tethras? As in…her eyes went wide. Varric Tethras. The Varric Tethras was right in front of her, laughing and chatting with her, brainstorming plot points for his new novel, meeting her for a coffee date—
Oh, Maker. Ohhhh, Maker save her, Josie wouldn’t believe this! Cassandra reached for a pastry in a futile attempt to hide her fluster, freezing when a strong hand closed around hers.
Crossbow—no, his name was Varric, she reminded herself—momentarily went speechless, surprise clear on his features. “C-Can I call you back? We’re at a vital plot point in our friends-to-lovers character arc...” He hung up before his agent could reply, gaze softening when it met hers. Cassandra blushed.
“…There’s a gala dinner next week—” she began.
“Yes.”
She blinked, “b-but I didn’t say what it was for.”
“Don’t care: it’s more time with you; I’m always down for that… unless it’s the Dwarven Merchant Guild. Then you’re on your own, Seeker.”
She couldn’t help the smile, “it’s an Imperial soiree at Halamshiral: Celene and Gaspard will be there. I’m covering it for my article.” He nodded sagely.
“Real-life inspiration for the De Launcet’s Hightown soiree in chapter 12. Nice.”
“Y-You shouldn’t feel obliged: it’ll be crawling with Orlesians…” She couldn’t help frowning at the thought of how insufferably fussy and pretentious the evening would be.
He chuckled, “no way in Thedas I’d miss it: the sight of you glowering stinky Orlesian cheeses into submission will be worth the price of admission alone. Text me the details—”
His phone’s notifications pinged several times, announcing the arrival of several text messages from ‘Royal Pain the Arse;’ Cassandra stifled a laugh.
Varric rolled his eyes, “that damned Bran. I told him I was on a date; he can’t wait for an hour?” Apparently Bran couldn’t; he sent three more texts in succession, demanding Varric’s assistance. Varric heaved a sigh, adjusting his spectacles.
“Seems the Kirkwaller office will implode if I don’t handle this. See you later tonight on voice chat…” He took up her hand and brought it to his lips, winking before he departed.
The words momentarily flew out of her head in the face of such gallantry. Cassandra watched him go, falling back against the booth in disbelief when he was out of sight. A text notification pinged from her phone.
‘Stop what you’re doing right now and tell me everything.
-Josie xxoo’
The phone rang immediately after; Cassandra smiled to herself, feeling quite like a heroine from her favorite romance novel as she picked up the call and obliged her friend’s request for juicy gossip.

So she was only mention in a game they decided to play without her for some reason . Then when Barry was afraid of forgetting her as he get old .They get to take brakes and have fun while relying on her being ok because she’s with Nora in the future . That’s a cheap way to get them out of doing this story justice . Also since when are Chester and Allegra apart of family game night ? When did the team start blending in like family . Some things should stay only between real family. I could see if it was Cisco his girl and maybe even Caitlin. Even though she didn’t come to game night before. This is so weird because they are also employees . No wonder why that employee thinks Allegra is getting special treatment . It’s crazy how iris said she wanted more family time and all she get is being separated , in pain ,traumatized ,scared and sent a way . While her family have what she wanted without her .then watch it get wrapped up in a nice bow to be like oh she was always fine . My problem with the storyline is all the up and downs with the tone. Either she’s in danger or she’s ok . If she’s ok they could of found something better to say she was away than a sickness. It’s a reason you get negative vibes when mentioning something about a sickness . Than other people act all confused to why people are mad because they’re favorite characters aren’t going through it .
Iris is a-okay until she’s all by herself and then she’s in pain and scared for her life and her future. But hey, since she’s perfectly fine at some point in the distant future then it’s okay to just let her stew in the Still Force as if she doesn’t have a whole ass life she should be living in reality. You, know the kind of life where she can go to game nights and shit like that. 😒

Since I'm sick and not working today, I'm gonna watch Flash now instead of later. Let's hope this is a good choice. I'm counting on you, Iris and Nia.
Opens with Nia, good start already. She's having some weird visions with some creepy horror movie vibes to it. And then Iris shows up, or a dream version of her anyway. Which explains why Nia is visiting over this.
Love that Jitters is a national chain now. :D
Barry - What's the article about? Iris - I could tell you but taunting is more fun.
But maybe she's also not saying to conceal it from the audience for plot drama reasons? It'd make sense.
Also I love Barry being the house husband, letting Iris know she'll have something to eat waiting for her when she gets home. This is the sort of conversation that is so common to see the other way around, with the wife waiting up or leaving food for the husband to have after a late night. And it'd be so easy to justify it being that way around on the Flash, Barry's busy with justice or whatever and Iris leaves takeout in the fridge for him to reheat, but I do love that it's Iris with the late night and Barry being the one to accommodate her needs.
And since that comes right on the heels of Iris mentioning her pregnancy cravings for cheese fries, I also love that he doesn't guilt her about staying at work late while pregnant. Because that's... something that comes up a lot in shows. Character gets pregnant and suddenly everyone and their aunt thinks they have the right to tell her what to do with her life and body.
That said, it's kind of disappointing for Iris to already know her article is gonna win a pulitzer. Like, it's great to know she's going to win, but with Iris' feelings about having her life charted out for her ahead of time it does feel like it's taking away the excitement, drama, and suspense of it all. Sort of the feeling that she knows she'll be nominated and that she'll win and everything else is window dressing.
And that's clearly how Iris feels. She doesn't look excited or sound that way and it's bizarre that Allegra isn't picking up on how obvious Iris' discomfort is.
We did not need shirtless Blaine today. Or Khione kissing him. Oh fuck, please say this isn't really happening. Ewww...
Oh thank goodness, it's just Blaine having a creepy dream where he's replacement goldfishing Khione. Please write this asshole off the show. Please.
Like... if I were to write Blaine and make him somehow actually sympathetic in this situation... I'd have him say that he was dreaming about Frost. That would shut Chester and Khione up instead of the awkward 'girl he was dreaming about kissing is now asking if he was dreaming about professing his love to someone' dialog that we got. And also make Blaine aware and conflicted over the fact that he wasn't dreaming of Frost, he was dreaming of Khione but dreaming of her in a way that made her more like Frost with her powers and her forwardness. Make this something he realizes is inappropriate and have him avoid her until he can't anymore and he has to go get advice from someone else to deal with it. Like Barry, so that Barry can get some team leader points, he needs them. Let him take time off from the team to deal with his grief so he can come back (or not) with his head on straight.
Instead we're getting him engineering situations where he can be alone with Khione. Great. Like, do the writers understand at all why people don't like Mark Blaine? Are they even trying to make him palatable as one of the heroes at all?
Thankfully, we're back to Iris and Nia arrives. They hug. :D Love it when Iris gets to have friends she's on a hugging basis with. She deserves more hugs.
And Nia being an Iris fangirl. Nia. You speak for me.
Uh-oh, evil guy has thrown Nia and Iris into a dream. Where they're cops. Iris is the badass Captain West-Allen of the CCPD.
I wasn't surprised that Nia said this was Iris' dream, though. After all... yes Iris is happy and successful as a journalist and running the CCC, but back in S1 we learned that she tried to become a cop first. And Joe ruined that for her. Her S2 counterpart was a badass detective. Being a police officer was clearly a big dream of hers. Something she chose for herself but was taken from her.
Journalism was something she enjoyed, but it's been dominated by her writing about things that, more often than not, happen to Barry. It's never been solely about her. Being a police officer could have been that for her and with all her feelings about having her life written before she can even start, it's no wonder it's on her mind so heavily.
Snart siblings mention. I miss Len and Lisa.
And, oh, Iris actually brings up what I was just saying about wanting to be a cop first. Nia is so shocked that Iris, who is such a talented journalist, considered other careers. lol. I feel like this is gonna help Nia see Iris as a more rounded person, but also fangirl more over her for it in the end.
Nia being worried about the hooded lady. Glad she made Iris realize their circumstances are dangerous though.
Coffee shop AU dream! Love Barry and Chester as baristas, that's adorable.
Meanwhile, real Barry shows up bringing cheese fries to check on Iris and finds her and Nia. And of course all of Supergirl's team is off world. Though I'm glad they actually explained why the team isn't accessible instead of just... ignoring them like they've been doing with Cisco.
The coffee shop AU is so cute. I can see this as having come from Iris idly day dreaming about how much easier life probably felt back when she worked at Jitters. When life and death problems were just broken espresso machines and the worst anyone was hurt was scalding their hands on steam. And dream Barry looking at Iris in utter adoration is cute. This man loves his wife and she knows it.
Blaine taking Khione to a bar. And she does not seem happy about it. He's not paying attention to what she wants, of course, so this whole scene is getting awkward fast. This was some place he took Frost.
Oh hey, she wants to go to the arboretum!!!! Yes, Central City canonically has it's own arboretum, I've only been setting Hartmon dates there for years. Validation!!!
Blaine is just self destructing right now, but at least Khione sees for herself that he's trying to make her more like Frost.
Iris not knowing how to articulate, or even admit, what she's struggling with is understandable. She has everything she wants, or she's supposed to want. But it's about control, like dream Iris said at the start. Iris doesn't feel like she's in control of her life right now.
And now they've crossed over into Nia's horror movie nightmare. Dun dun duuuun
It's a shame Cecile doesn't have her telepathy anymore. Her empathy is cool, when it's actually useful, but this is something her telepathy would have been helpful for.
And now we're getting Iris' nightmares. Feeling like she doesn't deserve what she has because it's all predetermined.
Khione actually calling out Blaine on wishing she was Frost. Maybe the writers are actually aware he's a trashfire? And of course the bar is the karaoke bar Frost loved. If Khione were capable of murderous glares, this would be the time to break one out.
The only thing that makes the following conversation bearable while Blaine tries to convince Khione 'they could be more' and Khione shoots him down are the patrons at the bar blatantly eavesdropping. Their reactions are great. I love you random bar patrons, taking Khione's side here.
Seriously, all those bar patrons are wonderful people and Blaine deserves this public humiliation. Because Khione is right. He isn't trying to get to know her. He wants her to be more like Frost.
Seriously, this is doing a much better job of actually examining Iris' feelings than the season premiere did. Nia helping Iris to see that she is making her own choices is lovely and the sort of validation she deserves.
Oooh, Cecile can sense the hooded lady. And the hooded lady is... kind?
That's, uh... an interesting take, given her horror movie vibes thus far.
Now it's Iris turn to mentor Nia. Iris needed Nia's help and now Nia needs Iris' help.
And the reveal at the other end of the spider hallway is... the hooded lady is the original Dreamer? Cool. I mean, the ending is definitely driving home the parallels between this episode and the one with the music meister. Here, Nia and Iris share a dream state to learn important lessons; there, Kara and Barry share a dream state to learn important lessons. But here the person behind it is benevolent and helping because she cares, while the music meister was helping but in large part for the entertainment value.
I also kinda get first Slayer vibes, but that's because I'm a BtVS nerd.
Nia - It seems my potential is beyond my wildest dreams.
Title drop. Bu-dum-tiss.
Chester reminding Nia of Brainy is sweet. I miss Brainy.
And Iris publishes the article. Because she's been writing her own future all along. Lovely sentiment. :D
Khione being so pleased to be made to feel like family at the follow up brunch. And how Blaine just... isn't there. No one is expecting him except Khione apparently. Which is hilarious. Hah, take that trashfire man.
Khione is clearly not happy about talking to him, either.
Blaine - Hey. Everyone else - *subdued, simultaneous* Hey. Blaine - I'm not staying. Everyone else - *relieved*
Blaine admitting that he fucked up and he knows his fixation on Frost is hurting everyone is a bit late. But better than never. And of course Khione forgives him, she doesn't have it in her to hold grudges when someone is sorry.
Oh gosh. They're actually writing Blaine off the show. Or at least out for the next few episodes? O_O The Flash writers making a decision about Blaine I actually like? Is this the Twilight Zone?
Aww, Khione froze brunch solid because she's sad.
Anyway. I actually really enjoyed this episode. Nia and Iris' A plot was solid and finally centered Iris' feelings about knowing her future in a way that doesn't just sweep her feelings under a rug or otherwise kick a can down the road. Khione's B plot with Blaine dealt with how toxic he's being towards her by not grieving for Frost/letting Frost go and how she's allowed to feel conflicted about him as a result.
I'm pretty sure they have exactly one bar set and they redress it every time they need a different bar now. Place for Blaine to get smashed and make team betrayal decisions? Place where there's a casino night? Place where there's karaoke? Lightly redress this one set, no one will tell the difference. Central City has only one bar now.
I do wish that Caitlin's death was getting the weight that Frost's has been. Blaine is grieving Frost 24-7, but aside from Barry calling Khione Caitlin during the Red Death thing I don't really think the show has dealt with Caitlin's death since the second episode. Which ended with partying at Hartley's night club. Not exactly the nuanced reactions a character who has been around since before episode one deserves.
So while I've commented on the parallels between this episode and the one with Music Meister, I do want to clarify that I actually think it works here. This is how to recycle plots while making it fresh and explore character development in interesting ways.
And while I'm glad Blaine is actually being written out, there was a way they could have done that while making his struggle over Frost at least somewhat sympathetic. They went the creep route instead and if there was any chance of him becoming a likable character when he finally gets his character growth... it's been pretty much repeatedly squandered all season. This man is a trashfire and not in a good way.
Final note about the episode. I do love Iris' hair. She finally not having to straighten it and I hope this lasts for the rest of the season. Candice looks gorgeous and it's nice she gets to keep this look for more than one episode, unlike the last time she got to wear her hair naturally. I just wish this wasn't happening in the last season. As in I wish that she'd gotten more non-straightened hair styles in previous seasons. Because the implication of letting her hair be styled this way now is that the show runners don't care anymore now that it's the final season, not that they're supporting Candice looking beautiful with non-straightened hair. It's very performative from the show runners, is I guess what I'm getting at.
Next episode has Iris and Barry trapped in a temporal anomaly of some kind. Again. Haven't we done that this season already? Poorly at that? Well, I guess that sets the bar low for this next episode to do better. *shrug* Hopefully it's not another time loop, so we'll have a completely different anomaly causing trouble.

Pokemon English Voice Compare/Rank, Champions
In which I rank the English dub voice actors of Pokemon characters from strongest to weakest, and sometimes throw in my 2 cents of who I think would be solid casting choices. This one is for Champions.
LANCE: 1. Bill Milsap - Voice of Lance in Pokemon Masters. Think Grant George crossed with Steve Blum and that describes Bill’s voice for Lance here, and I think it works really well. He sounds appropriately bold and heroic, but his voice can veer towards warmth and towards intimidating fearsomeness depending on the lines he’s speaking. 2. Ben Diskin - Voice of Lance in Pokemon Generations. While basically the same voice he does for other serious bishie characters like Young Xehanort, it suits a character like Lance. He’s particularly good when he raises his voice and displays his feroctiy. 3. Wayne Grayson - Voice of Lance in the main anime. When the character appeared in Johto and Hoenn, Wayne’s voice for him was terrible and not remotely fitting. But when Lance was reintroduced in Journeys, Wayne reprised the role and finally did him justice. 4. Robert Bucholtz - Voice of Lance in Pokemon Origins. For a Dragon Master, leader of the Elite Four, and future Champion, Bob’s voice acting for Lance is exceptionally dull and carries no presence. It’s just the most Average Joe sort of voice you could hear. FANCAST OPTION(S): Grant George or Max Mittelman for Lance?
STEVEN STONE: 1. Andrew Paull - Voice of Steven in the main anime. He was only in one episode of the Ruby & Sapphire series and like what happened with Lance, Andrew performed the part pretty awfully. But when the character returned in XY and Journeys, his vocal improvement fit perfectly and it’s hard to imagine Steven sounding any different. 2. Xander Mobus - Voice of Steven in Pokemon Masters. The sound of Xander’s voice always suited Steven, but his delivery was at first too smarmy and self-satisfied. His approach to the role as of the 2021 Anniversary is much better and more in line with Andrew Paull. 3. Tom Wayland - Voice of Steven in the animated trailer for Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Like his N from the last animated trailer, this is ill fitting even for just one line. He sounds too young and immature.
WALLACE: 1. Mickey Caputo - Voice of Wallace in Pokemon Masters EX. Goes very low and raspy despite the light, effeminate tone, and his delivery really sells the elegant artist who’s perfromative but level-headed. 2. Sean Reyes - Voice of Wallace in the anime. Nothing about this vocal performance stands out to me. Just like Wallace in this anime! FANCAST OPTION - Johnathan Todd Ross. He’s got the sort of voice I’d imagine for Wallace, so with acting and delivery akin to what Mickey Caputo did in the role, he’d be surprisingly excellent.
CYNTHIA: 1. Allegra Clark - Voice of Cynthia in Pokemon Masters. Her voice for Cynthia reflects everything that is awesome about her, and any time she’s had to do a reprisal her delivery has remained so on point. 2. Emily Bauer - Voice of Cynthia in the main anime. Being the VA for Cynthia AND Dawn meant that Emily had her work cut out for her early on, and in the latter half of the Diamond & Pearl dub she devolved into this very pretentiously high and mighty sounding faux-aristocratic tone. In the Best Wishes and Journeys dubs, her Cynthia saw massive improvement and is about as perfect as Allegra’s. 3. Tara Janye Sands - Voice of Cynthia in Pokemon Generations. With more material to work with, she probably could’ve done just fine, but for the short that features her she just put on a “heroic” tone and called it a day, failing to really impress with the few lines she got. FANCAST OPTION(S) - Nicole Oliver would be my top pick, but as she’s a Canada VA, Ali Hillis would be my number two choice. Or maybe Marissa Lenti if her Nicole Oliver impression has improved.
ALDER: 1. Cam Clarke - Voice of Alder in Pokemon Masters EX. It’s...it’s Cam Clarke, guys. One of the most seasoned veteran voice actors in the industry, making him perfect as an aging, experienced Champion. 2. Scottie Ray - Voice of Alder in the main anime. Scottie is very good at doing gruff voices, and also nailed the humorous and serious sides of Alder to really make use of an otherwise wasted character. 3. Andrew Eales - Voice of Alder in Pokemon Evolutions. His lack of much voice acting experience makes him playing Alder as well as he did a pleasant surprise, but the one downside is that you can sort of tell it’s a much younger VA trying to sound older to match the role.
FANCAST OPTION: Daran Norris for Alder, please? If Cowboy Bebop and Digimon were able to have him, I don’t see why not!
IRIS: 1. Cassandra Lee Morris - Voice of Iris in Pokemon Masters. Going higher, squeakier, and even more youthful than she normally does, Cassandra gives Iris exactly the sort of rambunctious, energetic, and sassy voice and performance I’d imagine to hear from the character.
2. TIE - Eileen Stevens & Anairis Quinones - Voices of Iris in the main anime. Eileen’s vocal performance as Iris is, for the most part, really good and lots of fun to listen to. My only issue is actually just the voice itself, how it sounds a little too matured and sometimes shrill compared to Aoi Yuki’s take. Anairis Quinones was my Fancast Option for Iris for a while since she’s got a voice not too unlike Eileen Stevens, isn’t white, and has Iris in her name...and then they actually cast her as Iris for the Masters 8 Tournament in Pokemon Journeys!
3. Cherami Leigh - Voice of Iris in Pokemon Generations. Cherami Freaking Leigh should be casting gold, but she unfortunately fell into the same trap Grant George did as N in that her line reads come in three different voices without any solid consistency. Had she carried her initial voice through the whole performance, she’d have got it.
DIANTHA: 1. Antonia Flynn - Voice of Diantha in Pokemon Masters EX. There is something about her naturally warm, melodius voice that makes Diantha so likable and pleasing to listen to, making her the best fit for a Champion who’s also an actress and occasional nobility LARPer. 2. Amber Lee Connors - Voice of Diantha in Pokemon Evolutions. Her voice sounds similar to Antonia Flynn’s, but her line delivery could’ve been better directed. I’m too aware that she’s acting here. 3. Laura Post - Voice of Diantha in Pokemon Generations. Opposite of the above, her delivery is perfectly natural but the voice might be a little too literal-minded in the Audrey Hepburn influence. 4. Vanessa Gardner - Voice of Diantha in the main anime. I’m sorry, but this vocal performance was just very bland and underwhelming.
LEON: 1. Cedric Williams - Voice of Leon in Pokemon Masters EX. Despite the laughably fake British accent, Cedric’s Leon sounds the most unique among the character’s voices and he best captures the enthusiasm, pride, and childish qualities that Leon is known for.
2. Alejandro Saab - Voice of Leon in the main anime. He does a virtually flawless job of selling this incarnation of Leon, making him sound cool and tough but friendly and not unapproachable. He only falls to second place because we’ve heard him do similar voices for Roark and Kukui in Pokemon Masters well before he voiced Leon. 3. Aleks Le - Voice of Leon in Pokemon Evolutions. Maybe it was to fit the character model, but that voice is just WAY too deep. Aleks was a much better fit for Piers than he was for Leon. 4. Kai Jordan - Voice of Leon in Pokemon: Twilight Wings. This is the opposite problem from the above, as the voice Kai gives to Leon is too light and honestly sounds like it should’ve gone to Hop instead. FANCAST OPTION - IDK, an actual British guy would be nice.
NEMONA:
1. Yolis Arroyo - Voice of Nemona in Pokemon Horizons.
2. Olivia Vidas - Voice of Nemona in Pokemon: Paldean Winds.
3. Cristina Milizia - Voice of Nemona in Pokemon Masters EX.
FANCAST OPTION - Michelle Rojas

TASK 1
Tumblr media
@c23tasks
What’s your mutant’s ability? Life Force Manipulation, the ability to drain, store, and transfer the life force of one being to another  what’s your mutant’s classification level? Alpha/Beta depending on if anyone connects her tremors/migraines to her powers. how old were they when they first discovered their abilities? how did it happen? When Allegra was eight years old her family dog was hit by a car. As she was holding her she transferred her own life force into the dog, putting Allegra in a three month coma and saving the dog’s life. so, what can your mutant do with their abilities?…and what can’t they do (at least, not yet)? Allegra can drain the life force from others, store up to 50% of another beings life force in her own body, and transfer stored life force into other beings. However, Allegra can’t store life force energy for more than 24 hours at a time with a 24 hour cool down period and when she is storing life force she’s prone to migraines and tremors. what’s one thing they hope to learn or are currently trying to learn with their abilities? Allegra is trying to understand where her powers came from since she was raised by her aunt (father’s sister) and knows very little about her family history. She also wants to learn how to control the tremors and migraines that come with her life force storage so she can store and transfer more life force for longer.
what is the most powerful thing your mutant can do with their abilities? do you think they would actually do it? If desperate enough Allegra could potentially transfer more than 50% of her stored life force, using her own life force as well, to another being. However, because of the coma she was in when she was eight she would be too scared to try it. what are your mutant’s weaknesses? When Allegra is storing life force energy she is prone to intense tremors and migraines, making it very difficult for her to participate in battle or combat unless she almost immediately transfers the energy somewhere else.
do they use their abilities in their day-to-day life? in what ways? Allegra has a huge heart and will often use her own life force, or small amounts of stored life force, to heal injured animals, revitalize plants, and help her friends get over colds or pains.
as a mutant, do they have any goals? dreams? Allegra hopes to one day be able to more reliably store life force energy so that she can act as a healer during combat.
how do they feel about the last 30+ years of mutant history? Allegra was raised by her aunt, an investigative journalist who investigated various human rights abuses. Because of that she has a strong sense of justice for mutant kind. While she believes that politician’s and the president’s hearts are in the right place, she also believes that they are too cowardly to make any true progress and knows that the only way mutant rights will be advanced is if they change the societal view of them. Allegra is highly suspicious of anything that comes from the Essex house, having been held there for a short time and is waiting impatiently for mutant abuses to be exposed but feels powerless to do much about it herself.

Quote
No one had ever told Debra to stay home and do everything; that came from her. Nothing compelled her but her conscience and her common sense. When the girls were babies, she gave up free time and exercise. When they were older, she gave up her job, because two people could not work the kind of hours they did and see their children while they were awake. And because she wanted to eat real food. And because she did not want to outsource every single aspect of her life. And because those were years you could not get back, and because she hoped someday to return, if not to law, to something new. Education? Social justice? Counseling?

October 12: Briarpatch 1x10
My Briarpatch re-watch is complete. I really enjoyed it and the ending was very satisfying!
I think this ep really showed off how well-cast everyone was. Seeing Alan Cumming just deliciously slurping up the scenery was great, but everyone just hit their noir toned roles so well. It was really satisfying even though or perhaps especially because it was so often over the top.
For example: “I’m the most terrifying thing in the world. A lady with a job. And I’m good at it.” That was?? Actually amazing? Feels good to hear her say it.
The episode did suffer a little bit from “has 10 finales” disease, in that the last 20 minutes easy--everything from the Confrontation Scene on--was just one ending after another. Oh, what a poignant conclusion. Oh wait! Oh, what a poignant conclusion. Gotcha--there’s more! But there were a lot of loose ends to tie up and personal notes to hit.
The intro, interspersing Dill’s plan with the actual plan being carried out, was so well-edited. I love that technique in general. I did find some parts of it a little bit hard to follow, even on a second viewing. For example, she told Spivey they were going to align themselves with Brattle, and got him to agree to that to her. He was supposed to break things off with Raytek at the same time. Presumably to get her to do something. But Dill also relied on Spivey still prioritizing his own skin, and trying to keep his alliance with Raytek anyway. At that point, Dill knew that Raytek was the second bomber. Was she trying to draw her out as Spivey’s backup? Which didn’t work, she actually came as Colder’s backup but it turned out the same? I presume that’s it. Although on the other hand, she knew the real estate deal was off, so maybe this was more about Spivey than Raytek?
Spivey she was just misdirecting entirely by letting him think she was really going to let Brattle go. To be honest, I’m not sure how she was expecting that to play out, if Colder hadn’t shown up. I guess use Brattle to get to Colder, and then let the FBI, who were never called off because she never had any intention of stopping the Senator at all, would get Brattle.
It’s a bit confusing and I would like it explained to me lol.
Another thing I really liked was that in this show about selfish people all working to their own selfish ends, where there really aren’t good guys and bad guys but just different types of bad guys who are more or less sympathetic, and our main character is a classic anti-heroine, everything still tied itself up in a morally satisfying way. It didn’t just throw up its hands at the end and say, well, everything is grey anyway so nothing matters! Rather, it had a very clear sense of what bad acts were, in this narrative, especially bad, and it punished the perpetrators of those acts accordingly.
Specifically, the cardinal sin of the story is hurting, betraying, using, or abandoning Felicity. Raytek, Spivey, and Colder all failed her in some way. And none of them get what they want. They are all roundly punished: Raytek and Colder with death, and Spivey with prison. (Brattle is also killed but he’s just an all around Bad Guy, so that’s unsurprising.) The Senator, on the other hand, is no peach, but he essentially gets what he wants: Spivey’s arrest will be a big win for him, Allegra is asking for almost nothing in exchange for not releasing the tape, and we can fairly well assume he will at least win the nomination for the Presidency. He was willing to kill Allegra! He’s pretty awful! But he wasn’t involved in the Felicity story. It would be unrealistic for everything to end happily ever after, in such a story, or with neat, clear lines where the deserving win and the wrongdoers are punished. Corruption is everywhere, at every level, and so many people are just selfish and awful and power hungry. So yeah, a corrupt, selfish, power hungry politician lives to fight another day. But Dill got justice for the person she came to avenge. That’s a happy ending, and it’s a morally satisfying ending.
It helps that there are a couple of just honest-to-goodness good people here, too, and that they unequivocally prosper. I’m thinking of Singe and Cindy, of course.
Dill as the anti-hero has a fitting ending as well. She is, of course, also complicit in Felicity’s death, and she says so many times. She’s guilty in the exact same way Spivey is: the only thing we ever saw was each other. But she has a self awareness that he never has, not even at the very end. And, critically, she doesn’t completely win. I see Dill’s ending as happy, yes, especially by her own definitions--she can drive again, she no longer fears her past, she’s free both of the burdens of her past but of everything, and she’s in control of her destiny again. And yet, her main reward is simply escape, and a blank slate. She doesn’t prosper, specifically. I’m not sure I’m explaining this correctly, especially since she’s never wanted the sorts of things, money and power etc., that the other characters want, so to say she doesn’t gain power or influence or whatever isn’t saying much. Still, I see her ending as more reaching purgatory than reaching heaven. Like the Master and Margarita in The Master and Margarita (weird comparison I know lol).
As Candy Bar tells her in the previous ep, you can’t beat the system, and the only morally pure thing to do is to leave it altogether. That’s what she does. She uses her blackmail to buy her freedom and also her escape from the whole immoral system. The system continues--the Senator on his way to the White House--she isn’t a hero, she didn’t bring the whole house of cards down. And it’s certainly arguable that her decision to leave entirely is actually morally pure. But then she was never a hero, right?
I also loved what the show did with the central conundrum of a murder mystery where the victim is important to the detective--the central conundrum of any narrative that starts with the death of someone close to the main characters--that the audience will never know that deceased character properly. We have to be TOLD what the character meant to other characters. We have to be TOLD what she was like. We have to be TOLD why we should care that she’s gone. I think Six Feet Under is a good example of this: the show starts and ends with major deaths in the Fisher Family but Nate’s death hits completely differently than Nathanial’s--because we know who Nate is.
Briarpatch’s solution to this is to fold it into the plot. Yes, Felicity looks like just a plot device, and not least to Spivey and Dill, who are brought together by her death just to spend 10 episodes doing their will-they-won’t-they, toxic-most-important-person dance. The audience forgets that Felicity was important to their relationship too. And Spivey and even Dill forget this at times too: as she tells him in their final scene, he’s wrong to say it was always the two of them. It was always THREE. He can’t look at her now and say that they can still win, because the only thing that has ever mattered is that Spivey and Dill come out on top. He betrayed the third person, and Dill can’t forgive that.
Never mind that it’s never really been Spivey and Dill anyway. It’s just been Spivey, Spivey, Spivey.
That she simply walks away while he’s holding the gun on her, a moment foreshadowed by her walking away from the kid with the gun, was really excellent.
The insistence of both Spivey and Colder that they are the good guys was VERY interesting in this overall context of a morally grey noir genre, with a morally grey anti-heroine at the center, whose ending was recognizing her own complicity in the evils she’s avenging and then walks away. Does Dill get to ‘win,’ comparatively, because she is honest with and about herself? Why is it so important to Colder and Spivey to see themselves as the good guys? Because it allows them to justify their bad acts? Colder is a quintessential “nice guy” who is absolutely devoid of any moral core at all, and completely delusional about it. It hasn’t been as obvious throughout with Spivey, but it’s certainly been simmering under the surface with him.
Contrast these two men to Raytek. She never says she’s a good person. She says she is a problem solver. She gets things done. She never worries about the cost because she has a larger goal in mind: fix the town, even if it means using people, double-crossing allies, lying, manipulating--even murder. These aren’t good or bad acts. They’re just steps in a plan. Nothing matters if you win.
Colder and Spivey have much weaker self-images. Colder is completely delusional. He’s completely separated his actions from his understanding of himself. He IS a good guy, and so everything he does is, by definition, something a good guy would do. And he kills Felicity over it--because she challenged his idea of himself and his idea of her. “She wore your sister’s face, but she was a different person. There was something twisted and evil inside and I had to kill it so I could keep loving the real Felicity” is a really chilling line.
With Spivey, again, it is subtler, but I thought there was something really sad about him facing Dill one last time and being completely unwilling to let go even a little bit from his own narrative. He was the good guy and he and Dill were united against the world and everything would work out for them eventually.
It helped that he could always blame Brattle for everything. And Brattle really did mess him up, and I do think meeting him again pushed Spivey back into that really dark mental place that years of abuse had created in him.
Or maybe it’s just as simple as, he will always care about himself most. He will always be selfish, to the very last.
It was definitely interesting to see a relationship, in Dill and Spivey, that WAS deep, and old, and multi-layered, where they DID love each other, as some combination of friends and family and lovers, where maybe in a sense they WERE soulmates, but they were also deeply twisted and bad for each other. Their relationship was so deeply unhealthy. It was all of those things at once.

The Court: Origins
Guess who wrote that instead of searching for an appart ? .-.
But kinda like it and I mean there's Hawkgirl so it can't be that bad (yes it's from the animated JL. I mean it's the best girl from that carton. Best. Girl.)
-
Ladybug and Chat Noir meet heros : Wonder Woman is the First (working in Paris ?) and she introduces them to the rest. Because they need help and decent backing. (shinanigans and awkwardiness are totally here, they're fans ok?) But it's a firm 'no' to any direct intervention from foreign heroes who doesn't manage his emotions (akumatized Superman... brr). But they need help. They send Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl. (Wonder Woman would have come, with her own ties with the Miraculous and all, but she's already the ambassador of her people so can't.) Immediately, there are results. Crazy the efficacity of training right? (Master Fu gets an earful along the way, heroes don't like this Gardian way of his)
Ladybug is still his apprentice but she has back-up so she doesn't drown and she trains Chat Noir in secret from Fu. Because y'know, they're p a r t n e r s! (Hawkgirl called bullshit on the inequality between the two and Martian Manhunter said it was a good idea so). Ladybug and Chat Noir totally plan to rope Nino in it too. The Turtle always have more Gardian-vibe than the rest because Protection and Nino is Nino so he's trustworthy. (He could be Grand Gardian in the future but Ladybug is a martyr if anything else and she doesn't want to overburden him. She works on that. (And Chat Noir works on the "self-sacrificing" bit of his personality. Hawkgirl called bullshit on that too)).
They don't know each other's identity but when Chat Noir flirts and Ladybug complains they know it's more for fun than anything else. Sure, they have a tiny tiny crush on each other but they're heroes (teenage heroes) after all, they need the comic relief please.
Marinette and Adrian are more busy than ever and it's hard sometimes but they're not drowning and it's better than what could have been without the Justice League so they manage. Sure, Marinette doesn't design as much as before and Adrian runs on three hours of sleep tops but they manage! Sure they're in high school now but they're in seconde and it can be a lot of work but it's also the year the most laid back of high school so. They can do it.
With help, comes suspects. Did you think Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl were here only as supports? They're might be not as detective-oriented as Batman but they have their own way to have answers. They're still heroes, even if they're not detectives. Chat Noir isn't happy when his father made it on the List and is a serious suspect. And he's not happy when Ladybug supports this theory with her own evidence either. And sure his suspects are believable too but he overlooks Gabriel completely and Ladybug is not impressed with him (Lila comes back at the same time and Marinette is not impressed with Adrien either.) Maybe their argument and all the yelling gave away their identities a little too quickly. Oups.
They ignore each other for two good weeks, in class like in battle, before Hawkgirl forces them to talk. (Communication is important kids). It's not a fun conversation. They somewhat forgive each other even if it's strain in the first weeks. But they work on it (because frienships too need work) and they come to it at least! And sure Hawkmoth landed some good hits during that time but they always win, good relationship or not. They're professionnals guys.
And maybe they become so close they're often taken for a couple. Except she gives him advices about Kagami and he's pushing her in Luka's arms. They're often saying they're more like siblings if ask. At some point Adrien is all but officially adopted by the Dupain-Cheng. (The Lahiffe tried but hey, a whole bakery. They can't hold a candle to that.) It was a happy few months despite the stress and the akumas and amoks. Even with Lila. (because the class isn't full of idiots, yes they find Lila great and yes her war with Marinette and Adrien is weird but they're friends either way. They just... don't go out at the same time with them. They take turns. They think of something to make it work. Because being friends with a whole class is cute but not realistic.)
And then there is a conversation who strucks odd to Adrien. Not even a conversation, just an off-hand comment. Barely a "make sure Duusu obey correctly next time". Just a few seconds. Adrien wouldn't have think of anything if he didn't exactly knew who was Duusu. Oups x2. He took it pretty bad. Poor Chat.
Their plan is simple - in theory (well, more or less, it's still Ladybug we speak of). A sort of "breaking & entering" with thief!Marinette and complice!Adrian. Martian Manhunter in invisibility mode scoots the hallways before the two and Hawkgirl is at the end of the formation, ready for all he can throw at them. Of course it comes crashing down. La faute à pas de chance like we say in French - they come during the Night of Hawkmoth (the one random night in the week where Hawkmoth akumatises someone from a nightmare - look, he needs to sleep to). So when Adrian lets Ladyfox enter, the illusions doesn't fool the high-security systems and he prepares. Time for Scarlet Moth to shine!
He doesn't go to the confrontation this coward - he knows they will kick his ass with their training and help of the Justice League. Nah, he creates several really destructive akumas. Y'know. Criminals and the such he carefully avoided before. Trumps cards! Mayura joins not long after. It's a massacre. They need help. Big help. Big like all the box. (And Not the Justice League because maybe Scarlet Moth isn't at his limit and they can't risk it.)
So they recruit. Rena Rouge, Carapace, Hornet (Queen Bee 2.0), Ryuko, Viperion, Bunnyx, and sometimes random people whom the kwamis sense they have a greater affinity than the other persons in their class. It's still bad. They die - a lot. All of them, except Bunnyx. The number of times she jumped from her Burrow to protect a fellow hero is... frightening. Sometimes she made them exchange their miraculous, to better suit their affinities and needs. It lasts three days.
They win! Somewhat. They're... not broken, almost, mourning their innocence and deeply hurt. But they're alive and Paris is standing and Hawkmoth and Mayura are not - yet - winners so. They take what they can.
Ladybug and Chat Noir don't take back the Miraculous from those who want to fight with them. Some people can't be heroes, can't have the mental for it. Others are desesperate to stop this. And others still are born for it - like them. Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter agreed to train them - they're not in their best mindset either (they didn't see so much destruction since their last world-ending event, it's not an everyday occurrence even for them) but they're adults, professionals. The kids need them so they help, of course. The Court is born, with new heroes and new names. Too many has been compromised during the battle to keep their old, and... they are not the same as before either. Dame Chance (Ladybug - Marinette), Cat Sìth (Cat - Adrian), Alya (Tiger - Tigris), Nino (Turtle - Shield), Chloé (Bee - Hornet), Kagami (Dragon - Kinryu), Luka (Snake - Ouroboros), Alix (Bunny - Bunnyx), Nathaniel (Fox - Renart), Allegra (Rooster - Mélodie), Bridgette (Ox - Niú), Claude (Horse - Kid Mime) and Alan (Dog - Gavroche).
From here, it's hell. Hawkmoth and Mayura send akumas and sentimonsters at a frenetic pace, sometimes switching with a Scarlet Moth Situation (not too otfen because it costs a great deal of energy but at least one on three days). Life in Paris is impossible, the city is lock down, the civilians need to stay home for their security and the heroes all but stop to live. They move in the QG Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter set up at the beginning and scheme. Identities don't matter (and that's an interesting conversation), sleeping, eating, all of that is pushed aside. They can't deal with distractions. That's also a interesting conversation. (Look, some of them don't lose their priorities. Sleep and food are not distractions. But go say that to Marinette, hah.) But nevertheless, their lifes are put on hold for their hunt (and training. the new heroes need it.) No need to say, they're on a fine line from madness.
It lasts two weeks (an eternity) before they attack. The battle is horrible - like all battles - and the Court is spread across all Paris to protect it from the akumas and sentimonsters. Against Hawkmoth and Mayura, it's only Dame Chance, Cat Sìth, Ouroboros, Kinryu and Martian Manhunter.
They win. Finally. And they sleep the month after that, because trauma (very much so), adrenaline and - just - their bodies shut down. Especially Marinette and Adrian.
-
Now, the Box is used as almost full capacity. Nino has the Turtle. So Fu is like 'cool, Marinette is ready!' Hence Marinette is Grand Guardian at 16 (joy. so much.) and as first decision names Adrian and Nino Guardians with her. Fu isn't too please. She doesn't give a flying fuck.
After Hawkmoth Alya, Nathaniel, Bridgette and Claude gave back their miraculous (they were heroes when needed but it isn't a life they want).
The next two years are a lot of juggling between training, learning, apprenticeship and heroing but nowhere near the intensity of their first two years.
Because the Court is still active. Even without Hawkmoth and Mayura (by the way Nooroo and Duusu are absolutely being pampered in the box), they remained active, help the police and all. Especially with the new risk of attacks from terrorists (they couldn't prevent the bombs, only help afterwards and that was... hard. Definitely more so than Hawkmoth because the Cure can't revive these victims. There wasn't any Miraculous involved - only plain, old, ugly humanity).
Btw the Justice League is on speed dial in case they need help for a magical/miraculous/world-ending event and because they're allies now but they're not part of it.
So yes they're heroes but they're teenagers too. Marinette and Luka date one year before they break up and remain friends (and maybe she has a little something with Kagami at one point. maybe), Adrien discovers preferring guys, Nino and Alya are still as in love as ever. They grow up, they graduate high school. Some stay in Paris, others go discover the world.
Alya made a name for herself with the Ladyblog and has a brilliant carrier ahead of her, already thinking of doing something similar to Lois Lane : war reporter, then specialising herself in heroics. She wants to be the best and knows damn well what she needs to do for that (Lila be damned). Chloé flourishes in New York, attempting business and politics degrees (nobody else see Chloe as Mayor of Gotham? I think it would suit her - a broken city needing her help and power. pretty much her). Luka makes soundtracks for movies and makes a name for himself ; in the same sector, Allegra joins the National Orchestra of France. Nino chooses a degree in the cinema, DJing in the weekend. Adrian works with Sabine and Tom, training to inherit, one day, the bakery - Gabriel crumbled with his father and he has no intention to ever build it back. Kagami trains for the Olympics. Alix goes for a degree in archeology - following her family and her miraculous. The comic series relating the aventures of the Court by Nathaniel and Mark is a huge success, assuring their own place in the world. Allan go to Japan for a degree in languages. Bridgette and Marinette goes to China to visit their family (they're totally cousins) and for their respective studies in communication and fashion.
Paris is heartbroken and very concerned when Dame Chance and Cat Sìth disapear but the Ladyblog remains active so they can explain that they're young, they want to learn to live in this world and they need to attends some Miraculous matters - but of course if Paris or the France or even the world need their help one day, they'd come back.
At 23, Marinette, Adrian, Nino and Alix take a gap year and go to Tibet. Because they're not civilians despite their somewhat inactivity and their Court is cool but they very much need to think about the future, the after them. So they need to rebuild the Order.
Oh. The League/The Untitled/a great bad. Coucou. (book 2?)

How is letting the timeline deal with Thawne make Team Flash guilty of "killing" him? Letting him fade out of existence is some form of self defense. It has to be. Joe should know that. Because guess what? If he comes back and I think he's supposed to in the back half of season 8, whoever is his next victim is going to blame Barry. Is it better to have new victims and never get justice for the previous ones? Not every villain can be saved or should be. Thawne and Damien could have held hands to fade away together and we move on to a new big bad.
They’re not actively killing him, and honestly, other than maybe Caitlin who is a doctor (Thawne was arguably her patient because he was brought to the facility that she supposedly practices medicine in, but even that might be a stretch in terms of Thawne being her patient), they bear zero responsibility for his death for omitting to act. Thawne caused his own impending demise by screwing up the timeline the way that he did, so it’s not like anyone on Team Flash caused him to fade from the timeline. Like it’s not their job to save him.
Idk why Allegra was like, “You save people,” like girl what does that have to do with Thawne in this situation. And the narrative knows it’s stupid as fuck, because literally nobody was providing solid arguments as to why Thawne should be saved.
Joe yelling at Barry and Iris for knowing that the best course of action is to let Thawne fade from the timeline is absurd.
On top of that, the show pretending like the characters had made an informed decision when what actually happened was Joe forcing Barry and Iris into having no other choice by giving them an ultimatum was absurd.
And honestly? I don’t doubt that Thawne might try to target the West-Allen kids soon enough. So, like… Barry and Iris were absolutely right, their family is never safe when this man is still around. Idk what Joe was even thinking, honestly.

Mistakes Were Made
They decided to give Alya the chance to be Rena Rouge to spit what was going on at school. Adrian is naive, Marinette's fatal flaw is that she is too forgiving, and Alya is too stubborn. Marinette remembers this as she stares at Rena Rouge. She barely hears the screams as the air rushes past her.
An angry Kagami is the next thing she sees. She registers the numbness in her left leg and right arm then a feeling of wetness on her stomach. "Do not move" Kagami states. A voice yells "why in the bloody hell would you do that!" Allan she recognizes after a moment. "She did it to Lila. This is justice." Rena yells before running off to fight the akuma. "Lila" Kagami spits out. Kagami then turn to face something on her right "Claude call an ambulance. Allan try to fin the nurse. Aurora keep an eye out for the akuma." Kagami orders. Marinette suddenly sits up and yells "Akuma" Kagami curses trying to support Marinette while keeping her from moving too much. She hit her head hard.
"There you are were is ladybug?" Chat asks narrowly avoiding the akumas attack. "She said she had to recharge I'm sure she will be here any minute."
The akuma was defeated pretty quickly. They break the akumatized object and a yoyo comes out of nowhere to capture in then zooms tord the school. "Ladybug must be in trouble. A sentimonster!" Chat yells rushing to the school with Rena close behind.
Kagami was shocked when Marinette transformed and tried to move. "NO! You are hurt badly" Kagami tries to keep her still. "Have to purify the butterfly" Marinette yells with urgency trying to drag herself with her working arm. "You can do that from here. We will pull up a live stream." Kagami reasons with her. Marinette/ladybug nods. "Retreave Rena's Miraculous for me after the battle please. I am so tired..." Marinette mumbles. Kagami nods. Once the akuma is taken care of Marinette starts to fade in and out of consciousness. Chat and Rena arrive just in time to see the bloody ladybug detransform. Chat yells in anger "who did this" Kagami storms up to Rena befor she can react taking the necklace of befor rather of the hero's can realise it. Alya stands there shocked. "She is the one who did the" Kagami spits out turning back to Marinette. "Give that back ladybug gave it to me!" Alya screams rushing at Kagami. Next thing anyone knows is Alya is face down on the concrete arm behind her back with Kagami on top of her. "You very well could have killed ladybug." She states. "Marinette can not be ladybug she must have stolen the earings. Ladybug would never be so cruel to her best friend" Alya yells. "You are right Ladybug never would but you certainly have been." The cops take Alya away not long after Marinette is rushed to the hospital. Allegra gives a recording to the police.
"Were am I? "Marinette mumbles siting up and looking around the unfamiliar room. Suddenly Marinette feels a wave of pain and let's out a small scream. A women rushes in. "I am so sorry miss. Here take this it will help with the pain." Once Marinette swallows the pills she registers that left leg and right arm are in casts. "What happened?"
"Well the full details have not been released, but I believe you were pushed down the stairs at your school. You have stitches on your side as well. Miss Kagami would know more about what exactly happened. She should be in soon. Your parents and Miss Tomoe are in a meeting with the doctor right now." The women explains while adjusting things in the room. "Um were exactly am I?" Marinette asks. This certainly is not a hospital.
"Oh my apologies Miss. You are in Tsurugi manor. Miss Kagami has requested that she explain why" the women states. Kagami comes in soon after. "Marinette you are awake." Kagami move over to the bed. "Yeah. I'm really confused though." Marinette states. "You were moved her for safety reasons. Here watch this" Kagami shows her the video and calms her from the panic attack. "It was decided you needed a more secure location to stay at least untill you are fully healed. Your parents are currently staying in the guest bedroom."

A Comprehensive review of the Gods I have met in my travels by Inquisitor Lavellan
Mythal: Seems to spend wayyy to much time and energy trying to be mysterious. (Kinda stepping on Dirthaman's territory imo) Might actully explode if she has to give a straight answer. Deffintly could have used her considerable powers to help elves but instead she choose to merge with an angry shem noble woman and then power up Fen'Harel so he can kill us all. For the Goddess of motherhood she seems to be straight up bad at parenting. Also I've heard some shady stories about how she choose to punish Templars that make me think she's not so great at the "justice" part of her portfolio either. (Do you know how hard it is to get a Dalish elf to sympathise with a Templar??????? Because Mythal found a way.) Also she kept slaves which is not very good from a "Protector of The People" angle, which again, is on her divine resume.
(Is she actully good at ***anything*** shes susposed to be good at????)
She did lend me a dragon that one time which I guess was nice of her but lets be real that was kinda a bare minimum effort considering the world was ending and stuff. 4/10
Fen'Harel: He armed my mortal enemy, cursed me with his magic and broke my heart, which I thought was very rude. He's also kind of judgey about the Dalish which is a bit rich. We might be a bunch of dumbasses but whos fault was that again???? Also was it *my people* who we're going around slaving each other? No??? That was your precious ancients???? Wow I guess my free kinsmen and I just cannot compare to those moraly superior ancient slavers huh?
Fuck you Solas.
0/10,Too many eyes, would not reccomend.
(On a seperate note if were specifically talking about his ass thats a straight up 10/10.)
(Yes he got points for trying to end slavery but I deducted them again for his botched execution and for his current, even shittier plan to end the world. Also for dumping me in a swamp what, and I cannot express this enough, THE FUCK.)
Hakkon Wintersbreath: You know what? I have no beef with Hakkon. Apparantly it was bound into the body of a High Dragon. I'm not certian either Hakkon or the dragon consented to any of that. (Hakkon if you read this hit me up, theres an amulet you might like) Even so, Hakkon actully gets extra points for being a High Dragon because one, dragons are fuckin cool and two, dragons are inherantly feminist. 10/10
Corypheus: BITCH. -100/10
Urthmiel: Deffintly looses points for being one of the old Tevinter gods and for their role in unleashing the blight upon the world. Not sexy or cool. That said when I met them they were a 10 year old boy who was very polite. This is espically impressive because I have met both the boys parents and his grandmother (Mythal) and his sweet disposition might legit count as some kind of miricle. 7/10 (Points also dedicated for being human)
Andraste: Honestly I wasnt gonna add her bc she's a demi-god or a prophet or somerhing not a God, but I figure shes close enough.
Personally, if some incredibly sexy and cool mortal was uplifted as my "herald" I'd make time to introduce myself. Maybe send some guiding visions or somerhing. Mythal gave me a dragon, where is my dragon Andraste?????
I mean I guess I'll give her props for freeing slaves from Tevinter and for being cool about elves. But her followers are all a bunch of dicks.
Oh I guess I shouldn't generalise, thats rude. I'll rephrase, "Every Andrastian I've ever met who wasnt Cassandra Allegra Portia Calogera Filomena Pentaghast has been a huge dick and tbh even she was on thin fucking ice in the early days." 3/10 lazy goddess who's coasting on one thousand year old good deed.

The Flash Season 8 Episode 8
WestAllen
Wait what was that? What day is it?
Did they upgrade their furniture?
Oh is it the day his mom died?
Iris I thought you were all about the “real” stories? I mean, solid business model but I thought you were focused on stories that mattered and not fluff pieces. I don’t know how to word that better. Y’all know what I mean.
Allegra has a point. If you do this Iris, they won’t listen to her. They’ll just keep going above her.
Is it not right because of the day Barry? Or is it not right because it truly doesn’t feel right?
None of them believe you Barry. History repeating itself.
JOE!! Where has he been? I miss him.
Oh, no. It’s his dad’s birthday.
Damn Barry’s story just keeps getting sadder and sadder.
SO STOP TALKING AND GO HELP HIM
Why are you using Chester’s real name on comms?
Wait so who killed them? Oh damn a serial killer.
Allegra
Oh she knows her from prison.
Damn Allegra. Just stop talking. You keep putting your foot in your mouth.
Allegra. You should’ve just told her. Now it’s gonna blow up.
I told you it was gonna blow up. It wasn’t as bad as I thought but still.
Oh. Kick Taylor’s ass.
Miscellaneous
Bro you never go towards the sound.
What in the Venom is happening here?
Who’s this officer? She keeps showing up. Means she’s important.
….Who’s The Hotness?
Not this episode tackling inequality in the justice system.
Can’t lie. I doubted Birch too.
Awe. The reminiscing about Henry.
