It really weirds me out when people hc Shu as trans, especially transfem, because if that were true he’d be a completely different character.
If he was transmasc, that implies that he’s AFAB. This in turn means that the whole point of his childhood, that being that he was shunned and bullied by his peers and even family members for being a boy and liking “girl” things, wouldn’t even exist because he would’ve been confirming to gender norms the whole time.
If he was transfem, it would make that whole point of his personal journey/story about defying gender norms completely moot. You’d just end up shoving him right back into the box that the whole purpose of his character is set to break, and that’s not a good thing from a storytelling perspective.
I’ve seen a fair handful of people celebrating that he’s “officially implied transfem” after Raison D’etre, and that simply isn’t true. His grandfather is the one being implied to be trans. The way Shu interprets the story of his grandfather is one of two men, and in the play him and Mika put on that’s how it’s portrayed. This is because Shu was looking to relate to the story, contrary to Mika who was looking for the “truth”.
Shu has never been trans, nor has that ever been implied to be the case, he’s always just been gender-non-conforming. I see it as somewhat inherently invalidating to his canon identity to try and push the idea that he’s transfem just because he likes dolls and dresses (especially since most of the people in this fandom seem that have pretty progressive mindsets, so you’d think that a canonically GNC cis character would be well received), regardless of the fact that unlike someone like Arashi he has never expressed a want to actually become a woman.
The same concept would apply to Hajime as well, and I think in his case in particular it’s worth noting that he actively has said he dislikes being seen as a girl, and yet people will still have those transfem headcanons. This is not me trying to say I’m against that type of hc in general, it just frustrates me when it’s used on a character where it actively goes against who they are.

to begin this I'm not trying to be a hater and I'm especially not trying to be a hater of the queer media that we have been getting this summer/will be getting this fall because it is really important BUT it'd be great if the queer media we always talk about would more often be about sapphics

just watched a tiktok that essentially went ‘check your tone b4 u talk to my girl/dont talk to my wife like that’ and now i need protective naruto charas w this.. team 7 ?! (and maybe the other konoha 11 (+ sand sibs kinda fit this too but omit and add whoever! no pressure!!))
I love how this is definitely pretty much canon to Sasuke’s character lol
Some are modern AU, some aren’t. It’ll be pretty much obvious, but if it’s not, it doesn’t matter too much.
I only did team 7 (Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Sai) this time since the entire Konoha 13 and sand siblings can take a while and I just did all of them on my last post.(sorry no Yamato, I don’t know how to write for him tbh)
Fem reader
“Watch your Tone before you speak to my girl.”
Naruto Uzumaki
He can’t figure out why this guy is actually flipping his shit over something so small?
All you did was bump into him while you were trying to turn around from the counter in the kitchen. The party was packed, but the kitchen wasn’t quite as bad. You didn’t think you had to watch your every step so carefully.
The guy, clearly drunk off his ass, turns around and tells you to watch yourself. He throws out some basic insults, nothing too deep, but the attempt pisses your blonde, hotheaded boyfriend off.
The guy reaches for you, probably to tap your shoulder, throwing out some “flirty” comment meant to degrade you.
Naruto shoves the dude back, “watch your tone when you talk to her. That’s my girl.”
The dude, with as much respect for Naruto as he had, nods quickly, scampering off.
Naruto pours you another drink, giving you it as he pulls you onto the dance floor.
Sasuke Uchiha
Somebody talking down to his wife?
He knows damn well you can handle yourself, so he’ll stay back, but if you look at him for some help, he’s coming right on over.
He caught wind of the guy telling you off for being weak, saying you’re no help so you have no business ever being a ninja.
He can’t help but wonder what the hell this guys problem is. His wife isn’t weak. You’re one of the top ninja in the village, without a doubt. Maybe he has an issue with women?
“Don’t talk to my wife like that. You’re half the ninja she is.”
Sai
He’s right there and some dipshit has the nerve to talk down on you IN FRONT of him????
It was over something that was common knowledge to a person native to the village your team was visiting, but you simply didn’t know. You’d apologized many times. Wasn’t that enough?
He’s very subtly sassy at first. He’s monotone and flat in tone, but he’s being snarky. You can tell and the dude is catching on.
As Sai gets more pissed off, he gets more obvious.
Because it takes a bit to make him actually feel any which way, this dude is just a dickhead. And Sai isn’t having it
“Watch your tone. Talk to her right. Or we can handle this elsewhere?” Sai is smiling, but it’s a threat.
Sakura Haruno
She’s fuming when she hears somebody talking down to you. How dare somebody shit talk her girlfriend while you’re just trying to shop.
You’d gotten the last of something, since you were there first, but some Karen ass woman wanted it and was telling you why she deserves it more than you.
You’d explained kindly how you got to it first, but looked about ready to give it up and hand it over.
Sakura wasn’t going to let this woman step on your toes
“Watch your tone when you talk to my girl.” Sakura balls her hands into fists beside herself, but doesn’t raise them.
The woman is scared because Sakura is lowkey jacked and now she knows she’ll never be safe again. She gives it up.
Kakashi Hatake
This person didn’t know you were with Kakashi, without a doubt.
You were in a book store, and apparently you’d accidentally bumped into some girl and knocked all the books out of her arms. (She was carrying way too many without a basket for some reason)
You apologized, helping her pick them up, but she wasn’t letting it go.
She kept insulting your thinking skills and asked if you’re going blind. Over all, just things Kakashi knew weren’t true or didn’t matter. It was an accident. (And if you were going/are blind, it’s still, and more so, not your fault so he’s trying to figure out who tf this girl is??)
He waits to see what you do, but he won’t hesitate if he sees you need just a bit of help.
“How unhappy with your life do you have to be to talk like that?” Kakashi asks, closing his book. “You should watch your tone when you talk to my girl.”

on the topic of men in magical girl shows being treated worse than women in shonen... mot only is it not true but a lot of men in magical girl shows are actually nuanced, full fledged characters with their own personalities and characters arcs.
mamoru chiba may be the poster boy for the male damsel in distress in magical girl shows but he's actually very helpful to sailor moon, supporting her both emotionally and in fights and doing everything he can to be useful to her. he even had a whole arc in the dream arc about wanting to be more useful to usagi.
syaoran li starts out as a rival to sakura and proves to be quite capable, even collecting a few cards on his own. he slowly becomes friends with her and eventually, her boyfriend. in clear card he's a very loving boyfriend and does everything he can to support sakura and make her happy.
touya kinomoto is sakura's brother who knows about her powers but doesn't tell her. he watches sakura from a distance and protects her in any way he can.
yukito tsukishiro is the alternate form of yue. he only knows about this near the end of the sakura card arc. but even then he's a good character with a full fledged personality. also he and touya are such a good couple.
masaya aoyama puts on a facade of the perfect, popular boy but deep down he's cynical and hates humanity because of what they're doing to the planet. but him meeting ichigo and spending time with her opens his heart. he also takes on the role of blue knight to protect ichigo.
shugo chara has many magical boys. tadase hotori, kukai souma, kairi sanjou, and nagihiko fujisaki are all just as important as the girls and they have their own character arcs. even ikuto is quite a complex character, that is if you take away his whole deal with amu.
princess tutu has just as many main male characters as female characters, probably even more and they're all extremely important to the story. mytho is the prince from the story drosselmeyer wrote who went into the real world after he shattered his heart to seal away the raven. fakir is a descendent of drosselmeyer and starts out mean but eventually grows to care about ahiru and plays a very important role in the finale. drosselmeyer is the driving force behind all the events in the series.
the precure franchise, although it did some of its male characters dirty (*cough pikario and takumi cough*) also has some great male characters.
seiji sagara is megumi's childhood friend who finds out about her being a precure. even though he doesn't have any powers he does his best to support her and her friends.
prince kanata is the catalyst behind haruka becoming a precure and he's a capable fighter who does anything to protect his kingdom and supports the girls whenever he can.
henri wakamiya is the first ever male cure (although he's not on the main team) and gives a wonderful lesson about gender expression.
masato aikasi starts out being very conservative but after his heart is opened by henri, he starts to learn that gender roles are stupid and even stands up for his sister against their grandfather.
and now we have cure wing, who is going to he the first main male cure in the franchise.
even though there are male characters in magical girl shows who are either done dirty or quite useless, a lot of the time the authors actually develop the male characters just as much as the female characters.
and this should be an example because if these shojo magical girl authors can put just as much care into their male characters as their female characters, then what's stopping these male shone authors from doing the same to their female characters? shonen being aimed at boys and the authors not knowing how to write women is not an excuse. if shojo authors just said they don’t know how to write men, they would get laughed at. so why is it seen as an acceptable excuse for male shonen authors.
and even if there is a lack of men in these magical girl shows, so what? men have like 148293 shonen anime with generic male protagonist #738383 who beats up bad guys and gets a love interest whose only purpose is either the damsel in distress or fanservice bait. let us have a genre made for women by women. it won't hurt you.

In the show, why do you think Rhaenys didn't go MAD on Rhaenyra and Daemon after Laenor's death? Why did she do nothing?
great question anon, i honestly don't know.
because from the very start, it's very obvious that rhaenys does not like rhaenyra. they were never close. their interaction during the funeral was so awkward and showed their disconnect. later that episode, rhaenys says she wants baela to inherit driftmark. she doesn't consider rhaenyra or her sons as family. that's their relationship before laenor's "death".
in ep 8 rhaenys openly blames rhaenyra for laenor's murder. she's absolutely convinced that daemyra are responsible for laenor's death and she hates them. but suddenly in ep 10, when corlys suggests they return to driftmark with the girls (how can they do that? daemon is the girls' father and legal guardian) all of the sudden she's team rhaenyra.
it makes no sense. rhaenys believes rhaenyra murdered her son. they were never close & she absolutely despised her in ep 8. the show never explained this shift in rhaenys, and i don't think they can. it's a huge plot hole that i believe will just never be addressed. rhaenys is team rhaenyra (even though she thinks she murdered her beloved son) because ... feminism i guess? never mind that this woman murdered your son! it's all about the sisterhood and women supporting other women.
the velaryons are treated like rhaenyra's cheering squad. they literally exist for the sake of daemyra. because realistically, there's no way that anyone would EVER support the person they believed murdered their child. it makes no sense.
a post i made about baela and rhaena

Part 1: The Love Square. Why it worked, and why it failed.
People who aren’t as interested in Magical Girls as I am, specifically Magical Girl Animes with Romance, may not understand why the Love Square was such a big deal. Why it was the core; the life of the series.
Okay, so how many times have you seen a love triangle unfold? Quite many, I must guess. Some really good, and some, uhm, not so much.
In Magical Girl Animes they’re common – and the most popular ones have one very particular dynamic. Let’s run down it, shall we?
Our main character falls in love with another man, someone unreachable, unattainable. It’s someone she genuinely looks up to, and is most likely popular already.
I call this character “The Prince”
Tumblr media
In Princess Tutu, it’s Mytho. In Shugo Chara it’s Tadase. In Tokyo Mew Mew it’s Aoyama. Sailor Moon has Motoki Furuhata in Season 1, and Mamoru in Stars.
He is the type of guy you want to fall in love with. Nice, kind, good-natured, a good leader, pretty and everything.
There’s one issue, though. The person who our Main Character’s crush likes is not her, but her alter ego. Mytho is in love with Tutu, not Ahiru, Tadase is in love with Amulet Heart not Amu. The one she becomes thanks to super natural magic.
Then, there’s the opposite. I like to call them the “Rebel” character.
Tumblr media
You know who I’m talking about. The Ikuto, the Kishu, the Fakir or even Seiya of the story. They serve to be a contrast to the “Prince”. They’re often times, the only one who gets to see through the MC’s disguise and comes to understand her. “Rebel” characters are rarely in love with alter ego, but instead feel attraction to the MC or the “real one”
These are all fan favourites characters that fall under the “Bad Boy” trope. And for good reason.
Bad boy characters are popular with little girls, teen girls, women or even AFAB people in general since they call out something in our society. There’s very real pressure put forth by either parents or society to adhere to certain gender roles, and what they mean.
In other words, you’re “supposed” to be a good girl.
You have to get good grades, you have to smile all the time, you have to be polite, and you have to play nice. A bad boy character in fiction allows the viewer (in this case and for simplicity) girls to push back or be rebellious in a very safe way.
You don’t have to be good, you’re just following the steps of a bad guy with a heart of gold. He will help you break out of your shell, and be more confident. You get to feel like you’re trying to be the good girl society tells you to be, while finally exploring these darker aspects of your personality.
In YA and more mature books, this can involve anything from trying alcohol, having sex, or allowing oneself to be angry (exploring the “bad” or “not good” emotions AFAB people are always told they shouldn’t have).
But in audiences more aimed towards children, like those in Magical Girl animes, shoujos or tween cartoons, they exist in a more subdued way – although still tapping into this idea of rebellion against the status quo.
That’s why these characters are fan favourites.
So, to summarize. You have the MC in love with a “Prince” who in turn is in love with the Perfect Girl version of the MC. And a “Rebel” who is in love with the Real Version of the MC, flaws and all.
This particular dynamic is used as a thesis of sorts in any good story. Only by understanding both the real and idolized version of the MC can a man can “win” the love of our protagonist. And only by our MC knowing who she is, what her alter ego means, or how she relates to these dichotomies, can she understand herself.
And really, depending on how each show tackles its themes, it can have different answers. Tokyo Mew Mew offers the idea that the Prince is the correct option, while Princess Tutu says it’s not. Then there’s those with open endings such a Shugo Chara. Again, they use the dynamic, the thesis of their characters, to come to a conclusion that neatly ties to the theme.
Princess Tutu, for example, ties the ideal version of Mytho with the tragedy of a fairytale. Ahiru has to let go to be able to reach a conclusion. In Tokyo Mew Mew Ichigo sees her flaws (the cats ears) as something someone as perfect as Aoyama could never love – yet he shows he isn’t perfect and that he loves her with or without the perceived flaws she has.
That said,
It’s exactly why I loved Miraculous Ladybug when it first aired. It managed to boil down this interesting dynamic into the Love Square. The perfect and the real, the idolized and the true.
Tumblr media
Ladybug represents the perfect version of Marinette. Adrien represents the perfect version, while the real one is Chat Noir. Chat was both the “Bad Boy” and the “Prince” all in one. Both Marinette and Adrien were in love with the “Perfect” or Idolized version of each other.
This was something never before seen. It would make for amazing content, right? Explore why we prefer an idolized version of someone, realize that true love means caring even when you’re not perfect. What our perceived “flaws” meant to others, and if they were truly flaws – or if our environment was the one teaching us they were. The possibilities and themes were limitless. We could have had something great-
No.
Sorry, we. We didn’t get that.
What we got were padded episodes, new love interest that refused to deal with this complexity, and a stagnant rship that refuses to explore any of the flaws of their characters - why they’re not perfect, or even a reason why they stay in love
This is why the Love Square fails. This, is the core of why and how it works. People can expand upon this in million different ways, but you inevitably come back to this.
The real and the idolized. The want vs the duty. The expectations and the responsibilities.
Instead of having an episode where Marinette realizes that Adrien isn’t perfect, that he isn’t a model 24/7 or that he has flaws, secrets and fear just like anyone else, we got Kagami.
Instead of Chat realizing that Ladybug isn’t perfect, that she isn’t always composed, that it’s just a persona put forth to feel more in control of a situation, we got Luka.
Both characters that I love, but they bring very little to the themes the Love Square was introducing, to begin with!
More focus should have been put in how these two bounce off each other.
How much better would the story had been if we got to see Marinette and Chat have a conversation? The two very flawed, very real, very confusing version fo these characters, just trying to understand each other.
And by the way, this is exactly why MariChat is the most popular dynamic.
Marinette acts like a girl. Scared, confused, and lonely. She isn’t a hero, she isn’t her perfect version. She is just Marinette. While she can put the mask on, at the end of the day, it’s still just a mask. And Chat? Well, we get to see him. Not the model, not the paper cut out, but a silly kid who wants to break free from a life of imprisonment by the parent who’s supposed to love him.
We get to see something real.
But, unfortunately we do not get that.
Their relationship stays static. The reason for this is a bit obvious.
The writers, to my opinion have come to this bizarre conclusion:
Developing this dynamic would mean changing dynamics, ending the status quo morphing the story into something new. And they assume a “new” means an “end”.
They’re thinking that the endgame is Adrien and Marinette realizing their identities, so they don’t wanna develop it for fear of bringing an ending “too close”.
Say you have 7 seasons prepared, you can't have them find out their identities in season 5 because their reveal should be in season 7. It should be the last couple of episodes even. After that, they'll date and it's over. So better drag this on for seasons on end.
This just proves to me: flawed writing skills and lack of direction.
WHICH wouldn’t surprise me seeing how Chloe ended up.
It is plain bad writing. Changing stuff doesn’t necessarily mean an endgame is near. It just means things are changing.
I’ll be mean to this series and compare it to the Magnus Opus of Magical Girls: Sailor Moon
Tumblr media
Sailor Moon got together with Tuxedo mask in the first season, yet the writers were able to up the steaks of their relationship through its 5-season run: Through memory loss, a long distance romance, anxieties of hurting one another, or simply…developing their relationship. People change. And so does how they interact with other people.
These created amazing episodes that highlighted how much Usagi and Mamoru loved and cared for each other. It wasn’t just chance, it wasn’t just fate. This took work, it took time, and it took trust. This wasn’t something so easily lost. That’s why SailorMoonStars hits the hardest.
In the very last season, Usagi is in a long distance rship with Mamoru. And it breaks her. We see that she misses him, dealing with the turmoil of him not answering her messages. She’s devastated, seeking comfort in other people, but unable to forget him. Not even as Seiya begs her to take him instead of Mamoru, can she bring herself to give him up– because they’ve been together for a long, long time. And we’ve seen that.
Tumblr media
We see her reminiscent. We see her break down and cry because he hasn’t called her. We see her thinking of him when she’s with Seiya. We see her be in love with him and we see how much it affected her that he’s ignoring her.
And by the last few episodes, we get a payoff. We find out Mamoru is dead, and that he died confident that Usagi would be strong enough to protect the Earth in his stead. That he believed in her, and he thought of her until the moment he died - uttering her name as the last thing he could do.
That’s why when Sailor Moon defeats Sailor Galaxia, the woman who killed the man she loved, through purification and not violence – it all feels right.
It’s a very simple but powerful story, packaged in 45 episodes. With enough room to breathe, digest it, but not drawn out enough for it to be annoying.
All this, when the relationship was already established. We could have had something like this in Miraculous Ladybug, if the writers WERENT drawing out the reveal and get together until the very last second!
ChatBlanc could have been an AMAZING multi-episode mini-arc.
Tumblr media
No time-travel thing. They find their identities, they date for a few episodes, something goes horribly wrong, and Marinette has to find a way to fix the mistakes she's made. Much like Sailor Moon R.
Maybe by the end of it, she fixes it but sacrifices most of her memories. The only thing she recalls is that she knew Chat's identity, Paris almost got destroyed, and that leads to her putting distance between them.
Or maybe one day she wakes up with the memories of Chat Blanc and spends and entire season trying to know what happened, and when she does, she's horrified.
Idk, million amazing things could have been done with this episode to further develop these two's relationship. Complex, interesting, beautiful things.
But no. Because, apparently, thinking of love post-reveal is too much. Instead, we watch them run and run in circles. Chat Blanc was a single episode, and half of it was time travel shenanigans.
And all of this, just because the writers don’t actually know what they want to do with the love square. So they add new rivals, new teams, new accessories, side plots - all to avoid touching the actual core of what made the series great.
It strongly reminds me of Star vs. in that scenario the creators also weren’t sure where to take the show.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t until season 2 where they started the subplot of Star realizing Mewni colonized Monsters that it started having a sense of self. And it showed in the romantic subplot, which was all over the place. They didn’t know what they wanted, so the romance in that show was a mess. Lack of direction and intention, aside from the knowledge that Star and Marco were the end game
I personally don’t hate Star vs. I don’t like how it handled romance but I will give it much leeway because the actual plot of Intergenerational conflict and coming to terms with the harm your ancestors have done to others - is quite compelling and not something I see tackled often.
But Miraculous does not get that. Its episodic plot is simple and refuses to get into the murky waters of its own premise.
The only thing it had going was The Love Square. Because I assure you, very few people give a crap about the Miraculous being stolen.
So, their lack of willingness was the first thing to ruin the Love Square. Fine.
But it’s not the nail on the coffin. The real reason why this suffered, was something that happened waaaay before all this.
Because one thing that the show refused to explore up until late into season 3 and start of season 4 was the specific parts of the “Ladybug” character. What I mean is, what “ideal self” she is as “Ladybug”. And how her existence affects Marinette. This is the fundamental flaw that issss...

I need more people to get asurei like you do tbh. 4km deep steel barred closet lesbian Asuka who probably would have an utter meltdown over it one day.
LMFAOOO YES !!! Her whole chara arc was one of the best representations of comphet I’ve seen yet 😭
“hm i like the feeling of being desired and protected but if a man does it I’m repulsed. Oh I know! Let me go after this unattainable figure that will humor me enough to give me the illusion I want without actually going through with anything.
I finally transferred to Japan but all the guys at my school are creeps and objectify me at every turn. I wish there was someone who could understand me… Oh right, there’s this beautiful girl pilot that I’m dying to meet, maybe she can help me!
I tried to be friends with her but she brushed me off.. Still, she seems pretty interesting! She’s a way better pilot than Shinji, so I’m excited to fight alongside her. She has everything I aspire to be but I’m just constantly being compared to her, which is annoying. I guess she’s my competition here… She also gets special treatment from guys, but doesn’t seem to mind it like I do? That pisses me off! I could just ignore her but for some reason every time I’m around her I get flustered and lash out! She won’t leave my mind but that’s just because of jealousy right? She even saved my life when I was reliving all of my past trauma from an angel attack but for some reason it made me feel even worse! GOD I hate women??”

It’s not a bad thing to address the problems and complexities the problems and issues that female characters AND THEN acknowledge the problems and complexities of the male characters who are connected to them.
IT IS A BAD THING when you hold those same (female) characters up to a double-standard or attempt to attribute their faults/flaws to their identity, which is unfortunately more common than most would like to admit.
Misogyny (like all forms of prejudice, supremacism, and systemic bigotry) is more than just a negative attitude or a bad argument. It’s a parasitic symbiosis in which one community of people profits off of the unequal treatment of another.
You can still be a “friend” to a person of a particular group and still be harmful/toxic to the group they’re a part of because seeing someone as a “friend” doesn’t mean anything if you don’t see them as an equal.
P.S. It always irks me whenever someone thinks that they’re making a character more complex and nuanced by ignoring the complexities and nuances of another. I’ve seen ppl do that to Toriel AND Asgore, although I have noticed they do it significantly more to the former than the latter.
P.P.S. And don’t even get me started on what this fandom has done to Chara.
P.P.P.S. Forgive my little temper tantrum, and I’m sorry if I misread/misinterpreted anyone.
if you're bringing up misogyny in the context of fandom communities and the way they approach the text specifically, i think you're oversimplifying things by defining it as just "one group profiting off of another." an overwhelming percentage of fandom is, in fact, comprised OF women, at least on the story/character analysis/fiction writing front. you can't really say they're profiting off of female characters being ignored over male ones. by that logic, female characters should be uplifted more than anyone else in fandom spaces, and yet that's far from the case.
this is because misogyny isn't just a cultural system of oppression, it's literally baked into our cultures. our customs, our instincts, our sense of shame and justice and morality. those double standards aren't a conscious decision to oppress, it's an instinctual mental mechanism reinforced by habit and custom. it's something that feminists have spent (and still spend!) an insane amount of time unwrangling and breaking down. and a lot of people just... don't apply that kind of analysis to their own behavior. women in the story are just instinctively less sympathetic. less pitiable. less justifiable. less interesting, or "not complex enough to care about".
i do have a theory that this attitude is also tied to 1) a personal unwillingness by female fans to engage with their own oppression in a space dedicated to a hobby (ie: basically just escapism) and 2) fandom's popularity largely deriving from being a space to express sexuality and engage with erotica/archetypes that appeal to the reader, and the vast majority of fandom users are either straight or attracted to men (ie: the people making fancontent think men are hot so the more men the merrier. girls who?). but that is not always the case, and very often those attitudes go right in hand with misogyny and act as a shield to it, so it's only a small mental note in the corkboard of my brain.

Lol your defending for GabiYui is really on point. I remember some watchers even said 'too bad Gabimaru's heart is stick on his wife, Sagiri is much prettier or hotter' or 'go for it Gabimaru, it's okay to have multiple wives'. Come on, are we now living in an era where a husband being loyal to his wife is something really weird? I need Gabimaru to show his ninjutsu to these people lol.
awww thank you! ofc I will defend GabiYui no matter what since this pair is so close to my heart and has actually inspired me to write better at romance (aside from the other characters from different fandoms I am in) and do my best in life (Nishinoya from Haikyuu is still my main drive but still)
now onto some big points of this ask hehe
re: "Sagiri is prettier than Yui" issue
Tumblr media
these two are absolute sisters your honor
I won't deny that sagiri is beautiful like I swear have you seen her and the way she fights back despite men looking down on her and how she swings her sword? plus episode 6 highlighted her being able to balance her emotions, making her gently kill rokurota. ugh perfection. chef's kiss. 1000/10 rating.
but ya know I don't get why people have to be like "Sagiri is way prettier and hotter but too bad Gabi is not in love with her" like what do you mean too bad? like ???? idk if it's just me but does gabimaru have to appreciate her being hot or what? plus ya know gabi is not into the appearance anyways. he even said in the latest episode (which is episode 7 as of this writing) that appearances really don't matter.
plus I don't get why people love comparing yui and sagiri's physical appearance against each other and saying "this girl is prettier" yada yada when they are both best girls with distinct beauty. in fact, there is an interview with Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto about Hell's Paradise author Yuji Kaku where he discussed about drawing female characters. according to Fujimoto-sensei, Kaku-sensei always drew his female characters beautifully in an aesthethic manner and his reason behind this is bcos "all girls are cute regardless so we must always draw them as cute girls" (not exact quote but you get what I mean) that's why Fujimoto-sensei added he has been trying to draw his female characters as cute as possible. so yeah both sagiri and yui are cute and pretty or whatnot. they just exhibit different vibes like sagiri has major main female chara vibes while yui is def softcore cottagecore vibes 🥰🥰🥰
besides, no matter what people say, yui will still be the most beautiful person in gabimaru's eyes. he even said so in both manga and episode 7.
Tumblr media
note: he used the word "utsukushii" for the term "beautiful" and in Japanese, using this term means you really find a person so beautiful inside and out that it moves you emotionally so the mere fact gabimaru described yui in this manner despite her telling him that she's ugly is something else 😭🥺💖
re: "it's okay for Gabimaru to take on multiple wives" issue
(THIS ONE WILL CONTAIN MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS AND OTHER CANON EVIDENCES THAT HAVEN'T BEEN TRANSLATED OR MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO HANDS ON DUE TO LIMITED SOURCES)
here's MY NOT SO CONTROVERSIAL TAKE on this one bcos you all know my answer.
it is no doubt that gabimaru can take on multiple wives. after all, gantetsusai mentioned he has multiple wives across japan. plus their time period allows men to marry multiple women so people making this statement knows what they are saying.
HOWEVER!
I actually don't think gabimaru will engage in this sort of thing (see, I told you my opinion on this is not controversial hehe) and here's why.
we all know that osa (aka iwagakure village chief) killed gabimaru's parents and took gabimaru in, even to a point where gabimaru literally lives in the village chief's home like some sort of special treatment.
Tumblr media
however, I think one reason gabimaru got special treatment is bcos both of his parents are high-class shinobis (like jonin level) and ofc osa saw his potential that maybe "ah this kid might inherit his parents' ninja skills or something"
plus, osa doesn't have any sons to begin with bcos surprise surprise YUI HAS NEARLY 20 HALF SISTERS with her being the eighth daughter. and accdg to Kaku-sensei, there is a major possibility of yui and gabimaru meeting as children (but alas it is hard to tell since yui has so many sisters). and yes this is all mentioned in Jigokuraku Kaitai Shinsho (pls someone translate this huhu)
so when tsuki (the toasted marshmallow gabimaru that we know) became the 58th gabimaru by killing the 57th gabimaru, he was rewarded for his skills and intellect by marrying yui. but the thing is, it's a common talk among iwagakure ninjas that osa has been looking for a successor and bcos he doesn't have a son, the only choice is to have gabimaru marry into his family (which is common in Japan)
Tumblr media
fun fact: gabimaru actually doesn't know why he was married to yui though. he even thought maybe yui has some kind of secret ninjutsu or something. he tried to find out but this boy went home and when yui greeted him with a beaming smile, he was immediately overwhelmed with feelings that he forgot his own agenda 😭😭😭
so what's the point of all this? you see gabimaru has never realized why yui was so adamant abt this sense of normalcy and all that stuff until he finally learned the meaning behind her dream. after all, in iwagakure, when a man is born, he automatically has to be a ninja and a woman has to get pregnant and bear more children that will become ninjas. and if they die during training, then they'll be replaced by another batch of offsprings that will be ninjas or vessels for children.
in short: women in iwagakure are not only beaten, but also treated as baby-making factories (ofc some of them become kunoichis but most of them just become a housewife that takes care of dozen babies). doesn't matter how young or old. as long as you can get pregnant, then you go do your duty for iwagakure. hence why yui loathed this kind of set up and when she voiced out her want for normalcy, she paid the price by having her face scarred.
but what if a girl doesn't get pregnant? ahh then the guy will take another wife, get her pregnant, then process repeat and repeat. it's a cruel cycle that never ends.
in osa's case, it took him like so long before finally accepting his wives cannot give him a son. and in my own opinion, these things can influence gabimaru into not having a harem marriage in the first place. like imagine marrying multiple women just for the sake of a duty.
besides, given how bad he's down for yui, I don't think he would want another woman other than her. like srsly gabimaru has so much respect for her and having a harem marriage would defeat every single thing he and yui are fighting for.
after all, gabimaru hates the idea of women being treated as broodmares. remember, his wife has been "marked" for the same reason. like he really abhors the idea and there are theories of yui being possibly pressured into having children with gabimaru and tbh it all boils down into this canon evidence from the manga.
Tumblr media
plus I hate it when people normalize cheating like "gabi might cheat with sagiri" or something like srsly? I thought we were all past NTR and all that stuff? if you are into NTR kinks, there are various media forms that can cater to that and sadly, Hell's Paradise is not the medium for NTR as much as these people want it to be.
that's all for today, folks.

GIRL......................... suspension of disbelief I know but.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously you can pick out a BUNCH of the dragons as that Is an ongoing trope (dragons aging differently than humans, so they can look younger than they "actually are") (also while I did try to avoid including them to make them more comparable to Nino, I think Flayn can fit in either category for the purposes of The Context -- esp cause her dragon blood is meant to be secret)
Not only do we have Heroes skewing younger (a lot fitting into another trope of What If There Was A Baby Sister) we also have Baby Banner. Where the whole point is they are baby.
LIKE....... maybe I'm speaking way too soon and maybe the whole point IS this will backfire LMFAO, but it IS absurd to be presented with her art (which, def still looks youthful!) and having her say yeah I can pass as a kidnapped child. Which COULD be true! But also what do you mean no one is going to know you're a part of the Heroes. Why is no one fighting her on this. Not even including the dragons there are like a handful of Heroes who fit into her exact vibe. Some even MORE baby than her.
#fire emblem#feh#and that's not even factoring in charas like nyx (who's whole thing is she 'looks younger' than she is)#which. tbh. i personally never saw even in fates. like. that's just a short small woman. they do exist.#and adding to that are the other charas who read as short small women to me like celine (before i knew her in-game age is 17)#and eitri#and also youthful charas who are treated as younger yes but also as full fledged adults in their own right. like lissa#(treatment mostly comes from chrom tbh which is understandable LMFAO)#OH and that's not even looking at all the second gen/child units from awakening/fates/other games that include that#which i think is just genealogy and thracia??? i'm not familiar enough w those titles though#also like. in general. a lot of fe charas who have official ages are teens. nino is 15. i think ike was like 16 in por????#which like! still a kid! but also! idk even what the difference is. is it just that ones a sweet looking girl#and the other is a boy who was trained to kill for as long as he's been alive (very lovingly by the rare good dad in fe)#i mean. i guess that makes a difference.#OH MAN I COULD HAVE INCLUDED LYSITHEA INSTEAD OF FLAYN. ALSO fits the bill perfectly#VERONICA WAS 13 WHEN WE MET HER AND SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONSIDERED TO BE A CATEGORY 10 THREAT#SORRY i'm nitpicking like crazy LMFAOOOO but like. the people of askr should not be fazed by anything anymore.#and you would think whoever is causing problems like bandits or what have you. you'd think they'd adapt.#SANAKI. ALSO. WHO IS WHY WE KNOW VERONICA'S AGE ROUGHLY IN THE FIRST PLACE‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️#okay i swear i'm done now. good by forevwr 👍#fe nino

So Gege answers questions about each of the charas and it further suggests to me with this particular answer that tying Gojo down would have to be an extreme slowburn. Gojo remains flighty and wishy-washy with any sort of woman who has interest in him. Don’t get me wrong, he loves the compliments. He loves being fawned over and cooed at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s even suggestions that he’s a bit of a playboy. But I think he’s mostly an attention whore. It’s all surface level; quick dopamine. It’s spectacular at first, what with his goofy personality usually aimed to annoy both his students and colleagues, compliments are few and far in between—it’s a nice little tickle to get it when he can. He’ll pose and preen himself in the most flattering angles to gain more awe. But when that’s all said and done, it’s nothing that really digs past the surface. And nothing that sticks to his memory. Just like the title of the honorable one, the holder of the six eyes, it just puts him on a pedestal he’s been on nearly his entire life as the strongest sorcerer. Nothing really touching about that, but he does like to hear it for flimsy vanity’s sake.
Tumblr media
I think Gojo is one of the most misunderstood characters in the series, and deliberately so. He maintains his persona as to maintain his detachment. To keep others at a distance he can always control. Most attempts by potential love interests to dig deeper than he’s willing to offer will only bend and snap against the steel of his guard. It’s definitely frustrating, and most potentials give up when they realize he’s a bit impenetrable and he never entered the dynamic with serious intention to begin with. That, or he often leaves first when he feels the first nips of suffocation. He maintains that he isn’t looking for anything serious and sticks to those guns, leaving when he feels too pressured. He moves at his own pace, which is probably what gets misconstrued as him being a playboy. He’s simply “insincere”, and romantic dynamics remain fleeting and surface-level because of it. He definitely doesn’t bum off of women like toji, nor does he have a line of illegitimate children left behind somewhere. Nor do I think he’s a cheater or bouncing from one girl to the next. I don’t think he’d risk a child out of wedlock that easily, because that might mean he’d have to settle down and marry, or best (worst) case scenario have a child that probably will inherit the six eyes too. Both cases are unfavourable because of the risk of putting his children through an equally as restrictive and isolated childhood due to high society if the Gojo clan finds out, or putting both his babymama/wife and kids in danger of curse users and curses who have a target on Gojos back. He doesn’t want either scenario, but as he gets older there might actually be some pressure on him to carry on the Gojo name regardless. He doesn’t like to be restricted to rules or to be contained, so his avoidance of sincere romantic relationships can also just be a cause of simple rebellion.
Tumblr media
I reckon you gotta let love sneak up on him, not push it onto him. And he himself would never seek it out. And even when he finds it, by complete accident, he may never fully or truly pursue it too. For the simple fact that to love is to eventually lose, and I surmise he loves very deeply—it’s hard to move on, if he ever truly does, and though he can keep it together there always remains a part of him trapped in time. His resources to love and connection is scarce and is only limited to the memories of his youth, when it was easier to connect through a child’s ignorance. Now he’s older. He’s wiser, and a little more jaded and cynical. Love is the most twisted curse of them all, he thinks. To lose someone precious is to lose a part of himself. To feed into something greater than him, and nothing is supposed to be greater than Satoru Gojo.
Tumblr media
I also think because he tends to walk to the beat of his own drum, it wouldn’t be completely unlikely for him to fall for a non-sorcerer. Someone completely different from him, that comes from a different world and culture and hierarchy that piques his curiosity. That’s probably why he likes to travel so much too. He likes to learn and explore and expand his knowledge. Learning about sorcery in different parts of the world, Miguel definitely would have had a hand in piquing his interest for knowledge beyond Japan. Someone different from him could teach him something he doesn’t know, with that simple innocent link of connection, love might sneak up on him.
Also a personal headcanon, I definitely don’t think he REALLY knows how to talk to women. Yeah it might work for surface level things, flimsy and exaggerated flirtation, things that don’t require sincerity. But when he’s truly himself, he lacks a certain tact and sensitivity and vigilance when engaging with women that can often offend. He definitely hangs around too much men and boys and is hardened by sorcerer life. A woman’s sensitivity might make him curious, if only for the enigma of it. Like puddy in his hands, he’d want to poke and stretch it to see what it can do, where it comes from, and how it works. He’s used to sorceresses, odd and equally as hardened. But regular women untouched by the horrors of his world? He definitely says or does the wrong things and it’s just another one of those things he has to learn through trial and error. Definitely makes “my wife” jokes for comedic effect if he ever did marry. Has a lot of stupid man moments. Definitely gets shook from time to time when he accidentally (or not so accidentally, since it can be argued Gojo just an equal opportunist and everyone in his mind can get it. Sass king) pushes the wrong button of the wrong woman. He’s just basically an asshole once you get past the grandeur of him being the strongest sorcerer alive.

why would you ad men to a poll about girls?
I suppose I had better explain this one since I know a lot of people weren't here right since the start.
When I first opened the submissions my policy was to run qualifier polls on characters that I didn't think unequivocally qualified. While I was still operating under this policy, three male-aligned characters (Captain Jack Sparrow, Patrick Bateman, and Miles "Tails" Prowler) were submitted, and I ran qualifiers for them accordingly. After a few days of this, people began to complain, both because of the men and because of a glut of joke submissions, and I started taking my responsibilities as an officiator of this poll more seriously. I started taking more liberties with what characters I disqualified by executive fiat, including enforcing my policy of keeping this a girlboss-aligned tournament. However, the three men that were submitted had been submitted in good faith, and had passed the qualifier poll. I felt it would be a betrayal of their submitters to disqualify them now. So yes, those three men did make it in.
I'll also address the nonbinary characters now. I haven't seen as much outcry over this, but a couple people were confused so I'll clarify - it was always my intention to allow canonically nonbinary characters to enter the poll. This is because I myself, as a plural system in which certain members are nonbinary, do not mind having the girlboss label applied to me. Nonbinary experiences are a vast set of spectrums, and this can include people who use genderless, gender-neutral, or alternative-gender pronouns but still allow themselves to identify with traditionally feminine-aligned labels. It was never my intention to suggest that canonically nonbinary characters such as Chara were women, and I apologize if I failed to make that clear.
One other thing I've seen coming up vis-a-vis Jack Sparrow is the fact that he is played by Johhny Depp. I will say this only once: fuck Johnny Depp. However, Johnny Depp the actor is not Captain Jack Sparrow the character, and being a fan of one is not the same as being a fan of the other. In general, I am against excluding media from this tournament, whenever possible. I have allowed characters from Homestuck and Hazbin Hotel to enter the tournament, despite the problematic history of the creators, because I believe that people should be allowed to engage with media on a basis that does not require them to be constantly aware of its creator, and that censorship of media based on its morality is rarely excusable. The exception to this rule is that I have not allowed Harry Potter characters to be submitted, because the Harry Potter universe is not only laced with problematic elements in itself, but all proceeds from it essentially, at this point, go to fund an antisemitic, racist, transphobic political hate campaign.
Finally, I will once again remind you all that any hate in my notes will get you blocked. You have the right to disagree with others and you most certainly have the right to disagree with me. That does not give you the right to attack and insult others over anything - how they choose their vote, how they run their tournament, how they engage with media, etc. I have seen actual death threats in my notes towards submitters of characters people did not like. I shouldn't have to tell you all that I will not tolerate that, but here we are.

Idk anymore LMAO
This place is supposed to be fun-
While I’m constantly rooting/trying to uplift all of the girlies there? (The ones that are kind to me at least)
Idk, what did I do? Share pics I had fun making of my tief and her man or??? (And even then, I was thinking of the masses and left some shots out lmfao) Idk LOL it’s a fantasy game AAAH I create for my gaze, sorry I decide to share
Make a green character? Should I show my green charas from saints row? From sims? From swtor? From-
my fave color is literally green LOL idk what’s happening anymore so I’ll just keep doing me I guess
Thank you to those that have made me laugh/smile, I’ll always appreciate you <3 I’ll move on, just have to get it out —
The worst part is seeing the pic being liked by women who I know, do not care for my tiefling … craziness. The person made her similar to a wood elf (Ares) for a reason, I have no doubts. The other person already took their disgusting pic down.
People can go their entire lives never making a chara brown or black, but let me do what I want, to have at least one chara at all times close to my tone, the girlies are mad? Sorry (not sorry) my tief is brown, I wanted her to match/be close to my skin tone.
As soon as I made a green alien with red hair, that was when the creator of a mod I love did something hurtful to me. I’m so agitated by women on that site I stg. I’ll always root for the girls, but I’ll never support ALL women. Some of you guys can be nasty af.
I’ll never share Sol’s head, so luckily they’ll always be stuck with something slightly similar but never her..she needed to look the way she does for a reason. So I’ll never share her publicly, sorry ..
This site is wild as hell man..stop trying to fuel hatred, you might find yourself happier…right after one another…

that girl is lying? i read gl and yuri and it isn’t all school stuff. also yaoi almost always contains lots of explicit male on male sex scenes. yeah it is by women for women but that’s because straigjt and bi women are attracted to men lol yaoi doesn’t havr deep plots or storylines. it’s not an adventure comic with two gay men. it’s always a romantic storyline. my sis is obsessed with it so i’d know.
there are tons of GL comics lesbians read. i don’t think any of these yaoi fans are lesbians at all
Yea that’s why I mentioned the distinction between BL/GL and yaoi/yuri. But other than that I do not read either genre enough to know a decent amount about them other than the basics 😭. I have a pretty narrowed perspective. Only manga I’ve read in full is Ouran, Azumanga Daioh, and Shugo Chara✌🏾
Have you got any recommendations for decent GL tho? Last GL i tried to read was a Korean one about an older fem woman cheating on her husband with a younger masc woman and I dropped it lol.
And where do yall read them 🤔

Situation: You have confessed your feelings to her but she does not feel the same
Warning: English is not my first language, so there might be some mistakes.
Female reader!
Frisk and Chara are women
Tumblr media
♡ Undertale Frisk
Frisk was a flirtatious and affectionate person with everyone, that was her way of being and she enjoyed expressing her affection to her friends in that way.It was part of his personality. However, she never expected that this way of being would confuse one of her dearest friends.
"I don't know how to say this but... there was a misunderstanding here, I don't feel the same as you".
Frisk felt bad for being inconsistent with his love for her.
If he had, he wouldn't have behaved in a way that confused his feelings.
He hoped this wouldn't ruin their friendship. She really loved you... but as a friend.
♡Undertale Chara
"..."
She didn't know what to say, she didn't feel the same as you.
She never knew anyone could love her. Her personality was difficult, she had a lot of hatred inside her heart, it was simply unimaginable to think that someone could love a person as complicated as her.
Much less someone as sweet as you, you deserve better than her.
"I didn't expect this... the only thing I can offer you is my friendship."
Chara you don't want things to change between you, but if you need to get away from her for your own good, she will accept it even if it hurts her soul.
♡Underswap Frisk
Frisk was a cold person. However, that didn't mean he didn't have affection for those he liked. You were one of those people and that's why he tried so hard to think of a response that wouldn't hurt you.
However, finding nothing, he simply let out his frustrated thoughts.
"Damn...why did you have to make this so hard?"
The only thing Frisk thought about was that their friendship with you was ruined.
♡Underswap Chara
He was someone very happy, he always liked to make friends and have fun. What he loved most was making others happy, however this would be the first time that one of his friends would be deliberately sad because of him.
"What you feel for me is not the same as what I feel for you..."
Chara had a sad expression on his face, he loved you very much but not in the way you would like.
She appreciates you as a friend and it would hurt her to lose you, but if you decide to walk away from her she will understand, even if it hurts her to lose someone as special as you.
♡Underfell Frisk
He is a very shy and somewhat fearful person, so it is a bit difficult for him to make friends. It was you who approached her one day when she was hurt, everyone ignored her except you, you decided to help her.
That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
He follows you everywhere like a puppy, always clinging to you.
They experienced beautiful things together, they experienced horrible things together, but they always stayed together. It was obvious to everyone the love they had for each other, but only one party saw it through the lenses of romantic love.
The shy girl wouldn't know what to tell you, she is very afraid of losing her friend who has been with her all this time.
You could tell she doesn't feel the same way by the look on her face.
I was afraid. That you wouldn't want to see her anymore. Although even if you hate her for this and leave her, Frisk would never stop loving you, for her you will still be her dearest friend.
"I'm sorry, I don't feel the same feelings as you... I would understand if you hate me... but please don't leave me..."
Frisk could only cry and pray that you wouldn't leave her alone in this cruel world.
♡Underfell Chara
He is a difficult person to deal with, he has been through a lot and the hatred he feels towards humans is not just anything. However, she couldn't help but be attracted to you, you had an innocent aura that surprised her.
She decided to take a chance and give you the chance to be her friend. And it was the best thing he could have done, he loved you and he showed it to you even if he tried not to be obvious. But her love for you was just that of a friend, she hopes you can understand it.
"During this time I have enjoyed every moment with you... but I think you have confused the feeling."
She knows that anything she says won't stop you from suffering, so she tries to be direct despite the pain she feels in her chest from breaking your heart.
