JIMMY NEUTRON REVIVAL PROJECT - UPDATE 31
I decided to dust off my old tumblr account and make a news post today. I just realized it’s been over a year since I last updated it.
A possible new development has come up today on Debi Derryberry’s twitter page. If you have attention to detail like I do, you probably noticed the subtleties. If not, I’ll break it all down in this news post. Quite honestly, if I didn’t feel like something was going on, I wouldn’t be sharing what I saw with you all.
I also have some information about a 3-night marathon of the show on TeenNick during the NickRewind block coming up next week on February 21st, including several third season episodes that have not aired in over a decade.
First off, I need to address housekeeping before I dive into the news that I have.
HOUSEKEEPING
I have been away from the Neutron community since last summer. As many of you know, I had to secure my twitter account and keep my tweets protected because of several trolls who were harassing me and trying to associate me with them. They put words in my mouth I didn’t even say, and one or two accounts blocked me even though I had nothing to do with any of it.
Since I have done this, the trolls have virtually disappeared. I have not made a formal decision as to whether I plan on removing the padlock from my account. Several factors will need to be taken into careful consideration. I’m going to continue to keep an eye on the Jimmy Neutron feed on twitter as a whole and I’ll make a decision soon.
I have also been dealing with depression. Depression can make you lose interest in the things you enjoy and that has essentially happened to me. I’ve tried to do other things to help me cope with it, but it’s been very hard. Personal issues in my life including what happened with the trolls last summer left me feeling quite deflated and I lost the passion I once had to devote to the project.
It’s for these reasons that I disappeared from the fandom. I still don’t know if I’ll be as active as I once was. It entirely depends on the news cycle and what, if anything, is materializing with regard to the small piece of evidence I found today.
As it is, I have someone else posting memes on my Facebook page. We were sharing posting duties until I took my hiatus. I’m still the admin for the page, while he posts content only. Most of what he’s posted has been fine from a content-standpoint, and as long as he keeps it that way, I’m cool with it.
There’s been no new news since last spring anyway, so I figure there’s really no point in me hanging around all that much if there isn’t anything noteworthy to discuss. Many fans have dropped off twitter and Facebook since my hiatus, but they probably would have even if I hadn’t have taken the long break simply because the last news we had was in April of last year. It’s hard to maintain any kind of momentum or enthusiasm when news is sporadic.
DEBI AND ROB VIDEO ON TWITTER
On April 1st, 2019, there were pictures of Debi, Keith Alcorn, John Davis, and one or two animators from Nick Animation that Nissa, Keith’s daughter, shared on her twitter account. Nissa also dropped a few hints on her twitter account several days prior to the meeting in California.
Since that date, we have had radio silence. No new news. Then the troll debacle happened in June which prompted me to padlock my twitter account and I disappeared.
I have a personal twitter account that I have been using for a while. I have still been typing Jimmy Neutron into the search box on a regular basis to check for news on that account and have been doing so since last summer. Even though I haven’t been on my JNRevival twitter page, doesn’t mean that I have stopped checking for updates. Suffice it to say, there was occasional speculation every so often, but otherwise, nothing, which was why I saw no point in tweeting or posting anything on social media. The petition can only be shared so many times and there really wasn’t anything else for me to do due to the extended period of radio silence.
Today has changed that somewhat.
On Debi Derryberry’s twitter account, she shared a video of herself with Rob Paulsen doing the voices of Jimmy and Carl with the following caption and hashtags:

So many people have overlooked the hashtags which surprised me, as they can sometimes give a clue as to what may be going on in the context of the tweet.
The specific hashtag I’m referring to is #netflix. Why is that so important?
Well, first as fans, one has to wonder why Rob and Debi are together. Was it just a random get-together, or was there a possible recording session at Nick Animation? The detective side of me is speculating that this may have been a recording session. Debi and Rob are both very busy people. Monday is a typical day of work for them. They get up early, get ready for the day, take a look at their schedules to see what recordings they have, and off they go to work.
The second reason why this hashtag is so important shouldn’t really surprise anyone who has been in the loop. In November 2019, Nickelodeon and Netflix penned a multi-year deal to create and produce original animated feature films and television series based on Nickelodeon's library of characters (here is the article). I wasn’t around to share that bit of news, but I didn’t read too much into it at the time.
Both of these reasons make it abundantly clear that the mention of the Netflix hashtag in this particular context is a surefire sign that some Neutron-related thing is going on. It’s not a press release, but it’s the closest I’ve seen to one yet.
I will admit, however, that even if the Netflix hashtag hadn’t been there, I still would have thought something was up either way. But this one hashtag gives away quite a bit of information. This has gone over many people’s heads which is why I felt the need to break it all down. As I said earlier, if you have an attention to detail and you paid attention to ALL of the hashtags like I did, it’s pretty easy to figure out why one particular hashtag in her tweet gave us enough information to think and speculate on.
Could I be way off on this? Possibly. I have been before. As a disclaimer, this is all purely speculation. Any of this could be true or none of it could be true. Only time will tell.
THREE-NIGHT JIMMY NEUTRON MARATHON ON TEENNICK/NICKREWIND
TeenNick’s NickRewind block is getting a 3-night marathon of the show starting on February 21st and running through the 24th, according to Zap2It’s schedule online. This marathon will be showcasing a variety of episodes from the past three seasons. While “Stranded”, a fan favorite, will not be airing, several episodes from season 3 that have never aired on Nicktoons and have not been seen on television in over a decade will be shown. Among them include “King of Mars” and “How to Sink A Sub/Lady Sings the News.” The last time these episodes were shown was in 2006 and 2007 which were the final two years the show aired, even in reruns, on the main network.

That’s all the news I have for today. While it may not seem like much, it’s some of the most noteworthy news that has come out of the fandom in quite some time. It’s important to look for the small details as they can help piece the puzzle together.

The first time it happened, he thought he was really dreaming. I mean, how would he imagine that your velvet lips touching his was true?
The only reason why Felix pretended to be asleep in history class was because that class was very boring. Well, the fact that his seat was behind yours and he could listen you talking and smell your apple blossom scent actually helped a lot in his decision to lay his head on the table every week.
But he never thought you could have the same feelings toward him, and that’s why he was so surprised when you kissed him one day after class. Everybody had left for lunch, but he kept his head down, for you were still in class, and suddenly he felt it. Your lips brushed against his. It was only for a second and it was very subtle, but he felt like his heart would break his ribcage with the strength it drummed against it. The most difficult part was continuing to pretend he was sleeping.
It became more difficult throughout the days. Every week he would pretend to sleep until everyone left the room, and every week you also waited for everyone to leave so you could kiss him in secret. He caught himself waiting for the end of that class more than he waited for anything in life.
That’s why he decided things should change. Just a brush of your lips against his wasn’t enough. He wanted more, he wanted to kiss you properly. So, he waited for the end of the class and for your classmates to leave the room. He waited until he felt your warm breath touch his skin and, despite the difficulty in staying still, he waited until your velvet lips touched his. And when you distanced yourself, Felix grabbed your wrist.
Felix opened his eyes, but he only looked at your face when was already seated. You seemed shocked, with your beautiful eyes wide open.

As you swallowed nervously, Felix noted his approach wasn’t going the way he imagined. You looked scared, as if you thought he didn’t like what you did. So, to make things easier and better, he smiled and took a step toward you, which made you inhale soundly, but fortunately you didn’t move.
“I was awake today,” his voice sounded rougher than usual. When you breathed out in relief, he continued, “and all the other days.”
You widened your eyes again as you lifted your face to stare at him. Felix didn’t think before lowering his head and pressing his lips against yours, leaving you even more flabbergasted as it was your time to think that your heart would break your ribcage.
“I just thought,” Felix continued, encouraged by the blush on your cheeks, “that it would feel better if it wasn’t just a brush of our lips.”
He hold your head between his hands and lowered his head again, touching your dazzling lips with his. Your mouth opened immediately, soft and sweet as a cherry. And this time it wasn’t just a touch of lips, but a warm, tender kiss.
