finally got the chance to draw so I kinda went ham with drawing up a headcanon sheet for the Eliksni, in which I blatantly disregarded the canon skintones and just had fun (i don't really enjoy how pink they are in canon personally- I think they should have more natural colour variation)

Some notes:

-The freckles on Eramis and Variks are just freckles, they're not due to age. As for the alarming amount of minor scratches scarred into Eramis's neck and, to an extent, Misraaks- those are marks from hatchling claws! They're traditionally considered marks of beauty and wisdom in Eliksni society. Eramis has many to mirror her many litters, while Misraaks only has a couple from Eido

-I drew everyone but Taniks bald because I drew Taniks first and then realized later that it kinda obscured my hcs for their individual head shapes, so their setae is on the bottom. Setae is someting that only fully sexually mature adults develop, and is much closer in texture to a horse's mane than human hair. It also runs all the way down the back of their neck, much like a mane, and in some cases (like Taniks) has barbs or hooks along its strands so that ornaments can be woven into it, which is inspiration that I took from decorator crabs

-Eramis's facial scars were given to her by a Guardian at Twilight Gap, and are deep enough that they cut into her nasal cavity. Luckily, it's right near the nostrils anyways so she isn't impacted too bad, but she does have to be careful about keeping it clear of debris. Deep in her eye sockets, she's also had some electrodes installed that link to sensors in her helmet and give her little buzzes/shocks whenever something passes in front of it to help compensate for being half-blind, but it's a pretty crude device that doesn't work all that well on small objects

-Each Eliksni's ethnicity is written below their names, which is why Eido has a question mark. She's a mixed kid- try to guess which Houses her parents might have been from ::3

-The horns/shoulder spines were extra spikes of mineralized chitin that were common on adults in Riis, and were traits that were lost during the Drift. They often were calcium/mineral stores used to show age and fitness, but since resources in Sol are scarce, they no longer grow during molts. Riisborn Eliksni still have horn nubs, but that's about it

-As for the sexual dimorphism thing: that's more just me musing about how slight it would be with my hcs about their reproduction (which involves females laying fertilized eggs into a specialized broodpouch in the male, who then builds on their yolk supply and gives them the calcium needed to form eggshells, and thus needs to be bigger). When given actual Eliksni with a natural range of bodily variation, it would be near-impossible to distinguish them

Alma sat on the worn couch, staring ahead. She wasn't looking at anything in particular. She didn't have much on her mind but...at the same time she did. So much was happening, all the time, all at once. She could barely process any of it.

She looked down in her lap. Antonio was sleeping, his soft snores filling the soundless room. The only other sound eas the creaking of the wood of Casita. Alma gently petted his curls, and the boy curled closer, shifting, but not waking. Alma was glad for that, Antonio honestly needed to sleep. It was best for him at the moment.

Her eyes drifted to his face. A bandage was tightly wrapped around his right eye. The skin around it was tainted a deep black color, and his veins had turned a pale color, a stark contrast to his brown skin or even the black infection that had overtaken his eye.

Alma was staring at Antonio, still petting his curls, when she felt a weight next to her on the couch. She didn't even have to look to see who it was. She felt the weight shift, and she turned her gaze.

Mirabel sat there, staring at her hands. She was still wearing the gloves, those black gloves that she never seemed to take off. Alma wondered why she always wore the., but she didn't ask. She knew her granddaughter was already going through a lot.

The two sat in silence for a long time, Antonio still sleeping on Alma's lap. It took a moment before Mirabel finally spoke up.

"I'm sorry," Mirabel said quietly, so quietly Alma wouldn't be sure if Dolores would even be able to hear her. Though by this point she wasn't sure Dolores could hear at all. The poor girl was constantly covering her ears.

Alma didn't say anything to that comment. Not that she really could. Her throat hurt too much anyway.

Mirabel looked at Alma and took her silence as a cue to keep talking. "I hope you know I...I did it to protect you all. You don't know what she's capable of. And I didn't want her to hurt you guys."

Alma stared at the floor. For a long time. She understood, in a way. That woman---what was her name? Miranda? Was a demon in disguise. No, not even disguise. She was genuinely one of the worst people Alma had ever come across. She wasn't even human, not by any standards. A demon.

Alma hated Miranda. More than anything. She knew it seemed extreme, but Miranda was an extreme person, and for all the wrong reasons too. And her obsession with Alma's poor granddaughter not only worried her but made her even more angry. Of all the people in the world, why Mirabel? Why her family? They couldn't live peacefully, was that so much to ask?

"Abuela? Did you hear me?" Mirabel's voice snapped Alma out of her anger-induced trance, and she blinked, looking at Mirabel. "I-I said that...that I'm sorry I had to do this to any of you. Who knows what that mold will do to you," Mirabel looked down in her lap, fiddling with her gloves.

Alma blinked again before nodding. One hand still resting on a still sleeping Antonio, she used her free one to place one on Mirabel's shoulder. Mirabel looked up at Alma, her eyes wide.

"You...meant well. It's not...your...fault..." Alma managed to rasp out. Her throat was still raw, and honestly talking hurt more than anything. Her scar was still fresh, and the gauze and bandages around her throat only barely stopped any bleeding or whatever that black mold stuff was. Alma wasn't even sure. But she knew she needed to comfort Mirabel right now. "You are...still...mi nieta."

Mirabel's lip trembled, and she blinked away any tears that threatened to fall. Something Alma noticed, Mirabel didn't seem to let herself cry. Among other things. Mirabel turned back to her lap and Alma turned back to Antonio, who was still curled up on her lap. Alma heard Mirabel shift, and she felt a weight on her shoulder.

It was the first time in months, or by technical means, years, that Mirabel had touched her, had touched any of them. She seemed to have an aversion to even being near them, and Alma wasn't entirely sure why but...given the circumstances, she couldn't exactly blame the girl.

And she wasn't about to ruin any opportunity she had of being closer to Mirabel, not after all this time.

Nahhhhh, but in the drawing (I didn't write it out lmao) I think it'd be silly idea...that Mirabel made their clothes as gifts to try and make up for what she did. Even if her family doesn't really blame her and understand her (to some extent anyway)

I'm actually sad that we didn't get to learn more about afo's construction business or his fake civilian name or anything about his fake civilian life besides being friends with kotaro. I also wish we got to see how their first encounter went but oh well 😞

at least we got confirmation afo is able to morph his entire appearance so he's easily able to blend in with others. it makes sense he would have this ability as it would've been suicide to walk outside during a time when he was being hunted down by all might.

#fun fact back in 2022 I actually made a theory post that a41 had this ability and it's how he's able to walk freely when posing as a #civilian as going around with his regular appearance would draw too much attention and put him at risk of being recognized by #his enemies but I thought it sounded too out there and I also got dog piled for it as people thought it was dumb so I deleted it but now #here we are :3

They fall on the snow (It's okay guys the snow is very soft) This is my favoritest one and the one I did within an hour during accountingjfndkfna

HC Azul doesn't need clothes that are that warm because he's said himself he and the tweels don't get cold as easily

Did a redraw of a piece from ~2 years ago‼️

I’ve changed a lot of things about Adam (my oc) in general since doing the original drawing of this. But here I mostly improved the style and reinterpreted the symbolism;

The silly shadow guy is a representation of Adam’s fears. But the shadow guy also isn’t really there, Adam’s seeing things in the dark because he’s scared.

The darkness itself is supposed to represent the unknown. Adam doesn’t know what’s going to happen to him, and that is what scares him the most. Yet, forming those fears into something he can visualize is less terrifying than not knowing anything at all.

The fire represents a sort of hope/guiding light. But the light doesn’t reveal anything in the darkness, it serves as a comfort to Adam. But it won’t actually help him find his way.

The shadow guy doesn’t have a fire, which implies that Adam’s fears take away his source of comfort. Essentially repeating the idea that Adam is scared.

The shadow guy is also reflected horizontally in reference to Adam, representing it being a reflection of his fears. (A big theme here is just Adam being scared…)

Uhhh I think that’s all the symbolism

#martzipan #she's actually. very difficult for me to draw lmao #she keeps rats in her cloak!! they're her buddies #she's actually very very powerful. fun fact she got the last hit on the bbeg. it was climactic as hell. i had a good ass time with it #would have drawn it but that would have required the effort to put her in the right pose lmao #oh yeah pellet's main deal is necromancy. she's a fan. it's fun for her #that last little doodle with the nine circles is in reference to how that campaign ended #that being. the artificer who was given a very powerful magic item that let her cast wish 3 times before Something Bad Happened uh.#well she used her third wish. at the ceremony in which the party was knighted #because she lost her homunculus servant in the final battle #so she. wanted to kill a party member (the sorcerer) and use his life to revive said homunculus #it. did not work (he counterspelled). the Bad Thing still happened though #a rift opened at that point across all of the planes #the sheer force of the rift instakilled both the artificer and the rogue #pellet and the sorcerer survived. barely (downed pretty hard). they were each transported to random planes #the sorcerer was transported to the infernal plane. where. the flames got him #pellet was transported to the nine circles of hell. she survived her death saves and woke up next to the river styx #and that was how the campaign ended. we won. and then a player nearly tpk'd us lmao #pellet as the sole survivor is great. fits her cockroach unkillable vibe perfectly #perfect setup for a spinoff too. if the dm ever has a campaign set in the nine circles she is for SURE showing up #i love my little goblin druid so much. playing a druid was really really fun actually #my darling. she is hard for me to draw for some reason
