The Scab & The Scar I
Basim Ibn Ishaq x GN!Reader
Warnings: Implied NSFW
Word Count: 1140
A/N: Happy New Year, everyone :) I finished writing this while I was recovering from a hangover, so hopefully it doesn't feel too rushed. I realized halfway through the story that the fanfic might be getting too long, so I've decided to cut it into smaller chapters. Hope that's okay!
Tumblr media
Many years ago, before you were tasked with traveling around the world and spreading the word of the Hidden Ones, you and Basim were attached at the hip.
It was bound to happen. Two young novices, both taken under the wing of the assassins at a relatively young age and bearing a relentless thirst to prove the world what they were made of. Your personalities clashed at first; training under the same tutor would prove to be a disaster. Thus, for the sake of balance, you were mentored by Rayhan’s teachings whereas Basim was trained by Roshan.
You took training seriously – not that Basim didn’t, but it wasn’t in your nature to indulge in large gatherings at night. Roshan was just like you in that regard; but you were not her ward, and your actual mentor had different plans in mind for you. Instead of retreating to your tent by sunset, Rayhan urged you to join the bonfire of rowdy novices. It is there that you come to know Basim properly, and like the fire that crackles every night, a spark ignites between the two of you.
It starts off small – you spar together, wooden swords in hand as you dance around each other; but then training escalates into gifts and spending time together at night, long after your peers have fallen into a deep slumber. You undergo the ceremony together, showing off your hidden blades and new robes to each other. Basim jokes that you have to put these things to use, and suggests patrolling together from time to time; but even once your duty is over, you come to rest together by the bonfire once more. For you, it’s a sacred ritual. A time for the both of you to bask in the silence of the night and just exist. He tells you stories of his childhood as he pokes at the embers, whispers about the stars in the sky, the world he’s always wished to travel and see with his own eyes; words meant for you alone. During one of those nights, comforted by the warmth and light cast by the fire, you share your first kiss. It’s gentle, inviting, and safe – there is no rush, and no words are exchanged for the rest of the night; but you figure he has no regrets from the giddy grin that adorns his face, and the longing glances he sends your way the next morning.
Basim is a bit cheeky by nature, you’re aware of this. Wherever you go, his hands follow, and if your duties keep you apart for far too long, he comes to whisk you away. That kiss by the bonfire turns into two, then three, and then you lose count. He steals kisses from you when others aren’t looking, brushes his hand against yours when you walk past; and like a spell a witch has cast on you, you start seeking him out too. Basim notices, and he can’t help but smirk everytime you linger close to him. It warms his heart, really; and the feeling only intensifies when you both learn you’re being sent to Baghdad to dismantle the order of the Ancient Ones together.
Baghdad gives you mixed feelings to this day. You know the man has been plagued by nightmares in his past, but neither of you are expecting them to return and throw him off balance the way they have. He struggles to sleep, and you start to worry when he talks to himself or thrashes around at night.
He never quite speaks of what he sees. He claims he doesn’t understand it himself, even after so long, and continuously apologizes for waking you up. You tell him you don’t care about being woken up, relishing the warmth of his hand which clings to yours for comfort, and you’re awarded with a squeeze. The assassin’s headquarters are a safe haven for you, and Basim releases a relieved sigh before pressing his lips against yours. This kiss pales in comparison to all the other ones back in Alamut – they were fleeting, teasing even, whereas this one is slow and drawn out. It grounds you both in the reality that you’re there for each other. This kiss is here to stay, and so are you.
The air grows hotter when he closes the distance, and your hands begin to explore each other’s skin. He swallows your sounds, bodies intertwined as you roll onto the bed; and you spend the night tangled in each other’s limbs, sheets coiling around the both of you and squeezing you together like a snake of love.
Baghdad was supposed to be a new chapter for you after that night, but fate had other plans. Basim becomes torn, a beautiful rose hurt by its own thorns; a flower to be admired from a distance, but not touched. He doesn’t shut you out, not really, but you can tell his mind is elsewhere everytime he comes back from a mission. Although he struggles, he speaks of what he’s learnt regarding the order and his visions; and the irony twists your heart when you realize that despite the amount of clues he’s discovering, Basim feels more at a loss than ever.
It all changes when Alamut is attacked. Fuladh shoves a satchel bag into your hands when you are summoned to the bureau, ordering you to protect the few books the Hidden Ones hold sacred – and run. Far, far from the ambushed camp you were built upon, and into unknown territory. Find the other Hidden Ones, convince outsiders to join – anything to help your people’s cause and creed, if they were to be completely slaughtered in this battle.
You want to ask him where Basim is, but time is ticking. Fuladh hops onto his horse and rides East, towards Alamut. The bureau is now vacant, and even if the people of Baghdad continue to go about at a leisurely pace, you know there is a war raging next door, painting the dunes and mountains in crimson red. If you do not leave right away, the order will find you.
But the pounding in your heart tells you you can’t leave just yet. You scale up the buildings, leaping from roof to roof even when your muscles throb in pain, pushing yourself to check all the spots you know he visits. The House of Wisdom, the garden, the Bazaar. But you find Basim nowhere, and the revelation constricts your throat. For whatever reason, he is no longer in Baghdad; and if he is on his way to Alamut, then your lives part here. You are needed elsewhere, now. Going to Alamut would ensure the extinction of the creed.
And so, with a heavy heart, you turn away from the one place you’d called home over the years, and steal a horse for your escape.

massage headcanons
part 2 of my giving massages/fluff series
Masterlist 10
connor/ratonhnhaké:ton
Takes some getting used to but he loves your gentle touch, especially when you massage his temples as well to relieve stress
basim
absolutely adores the time you have together and wants to savor it, even obliges that he give you a massage back
“Basim, we need to go or else Roshan will look for us.” “Just five more minutes…”
eivor
Nothing sounds more appealing than lounging in front of one of the large bonfires, on the furs, as your hands relax them and maybe even trace along their tattoos
haytham
He is such a workaholic he will fight you on taking breaks! 😆 but even when you do get him to relax and take a few minutes to relax, he’ll probably doze off before you’re even done

Dating Eivor:
Tumblr media
spoils you as much as she can
nothing is too good for you
you’re her first long term relationship
so sometimes she can be awkward but it’s super cute
Eivor was nervous about confessing her love at first
but now she tells you about it all the time
always tries to impress you
even after you two are together
wants you with her all the time
thought you two can get easy distracted by one another
hunting and riding together
you two are a great team
super protective of you
but she also knows you can hold your own
braid each other's hair and painting each other's bodies
loads of sexy times
she had a high sex drive
you're the most important person in the world to Eivor
not a lot of PDA unless she’s drunk
behind closed door she loves affectionate
nuzzling your neck cause she loves the smell of you
would do almost anything for you
calls you, my love, darling and my heart
sparing together
patching each other up after practices and battles
Eivor has special axes made for you
laying in the grass and staring up at the stars together
brings you flowers almost every morning

Eivor somehow time traveled 990yrs into the future and met Evie. Headcanon Evie is a big nerd (canon) and the biggest fangirl of all the lady assassins who came before her.
So yup my new ship: #eivorevie

I just think that since Basim got his face scar from Enkidu, then Eivor should have gotten hers from Synin. In my mind this is canon just because the parallels between them are so bloody good.

Being in a Relationship with Eivor
warnings : none, pure fluff, afab reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s very romantic - always bringing you flowers she’s picked, has written many poetry verses about you that she recites to you whenever you’re feeling down, has numerous flyting wins on the topic of spouses under her belt, has gifts for you always from her trips and missions ( anything shiny, clothing, stray animals she’s picked up, books, furs, weapons ; including 3 oddly delicate daggers )
“Where did you get these?”, you asked, cradling the 3 daggers in your arms. Eivor smiled brightly.
“Their names were Cordelia, Goneril and Regan!”, she beamed. “Do you like them?”
“Their names…? Wha-”, you sigh, shaking your head. “They’re beautiful, darling. Thank you”
Very protective. With a capital P. Whether you can take care of yourself or not, she’s always keeping an eye on you. Through her own eyes or Synin’s. You can always trust that she’s ready to defend you with her life at any given moment. To the point where you yourself have to tell her that everything is under control.
She’s also protective in the case of someone else being interested in you. It can go one or two ways, she’d simply up her affections for you whenever they were near - keeping an arm around you or just standing close if she feels she needs her arms free, covering you in kisses, subtly making it clear that you’re hers and she yours etc OR she’s completely hostile. Depends on her mood. And how they act
On the occasion, she’ll take you with her on her more…low stakes missions. Like when she took you to Glowecestrescire, thinking it would be a nice trip together. Which it was. Watching her trick or treat as Mari Lywd all embarrassed and annoyed with both you and Gunnar was hilarious. Until it wasn’t though, however. But in the end, you enjoyed the trip regardless.
When she doesn’t take you with her, she leaves you in charge of Ravensthorpe. Much to your surprise and Dag’s further displeasure - not that he needs to worry for too long ;) Regardless of big D, everyone else respects your leadership. Eivor is always very proud.
She takes you firefly hunting, often making a game out of it
Speaking of games, she is often playful with you. Constant teasing, sarcasm, trying to make you laugh, making competitions out of the most mediocre tasks etc.
Cannot go a day without cuddling you. She’s a huge cuddlebug and on those trips where she’s gone for days at a time, the thought of getting back home to your embrace comforts her.
Tell anyone that she’s often the little spoon and you’re fucked. Literally. She’ll deny it like her life depends on it, scowling at you. You giggling only makes it worse.
She loves to hold you, and loves you holding her. She practically melts into you. She melts at any sort of affection you give her. Holding her hand and arm, squeezing her in a hug, kisses, forehead kisses, hand kisses, cheek kisses, neck kisses, nose kisses, kiss-
Picks you up in hugs, often picks you up a just carries you around.
Braids your hair a lot. You find she enjoys it, especially when she’s stressed or just wants to take her mind off things.
Her favourite place to lay is on your breasts, stomach or lap. Or just anywhere on you really. But those three, she really loves.
Mouse, Dandy Puff and Synin really love you too.
Eivor has often found Mouse slumbering in bed with you, his whole body just flopped onto yours. His face snuggled into your neck while your hands softly gripped his warm fur. The first time Eivor stumbled onto the scene, her heart melted.
Dandy becomes your shadow around Ravensthorpe. Where people see Dandy, they are sure to find you there too. She trails you as you go about your day, especially when you venture into the woods. She gets so excited and zooms around you.
Synin brings you her own gifts. It can range from rocks, sticks, feathers, someone’s wedding ring etc
You keep whatever she brings you. Except for that wedding ring. Which turned out to be Gunnar’s, who thankfully found it funny. Eivor herself was both in shock and amused.
Called you her wife long before she even proposed to you.
Slaps your ass. All the damn time.
Boasts about you to just about anyone at any given moment.
When you told her that you loved her voice, and found it comforting. She was surprised, she found it to be quite rough herself. But it did leave her blushing appreciatively as you kissed her cheek.
She !! Just !! Loves !! You !! So !! Much !!

What are your other headcanons that you have from Valhalla? (besides the Oswald/Valdis one that you have about the handkerchief) genuinely interested to know your thoughts
Oh Gods, I barely know which to write about 😂 And now this post has been in my drafts for days!
I'll write the two that come to mind atm, and if I remember more or think of more, I'll post them x'D
1.
I like to believe, that after the events of Valhalla and the Last Chapter (when Eivor leaves for Vinland), Randvi becomes the new jarlskona of Ravensthorpe :P It just seems natural x'D
2.
I've touched upon it before, but I headcanon that Basim cares more, and more easily, for people than he lets on. He doesn't necessarily want to - but such is his nature. He puts up the facade that he likes to "play" with people, and he does, to start. But if he's around them long enough, and as he gets to know them, they get under his skin and he starts to care.

Hytham headcanons
Hytham (AC Valhalla) x GN!reader
Word count: 1078
A/N's note: I've been meaning to write about Hytham these past few weeks! Have some headcanons while I finish reading The Golden City :) (it got a bit angsty at the end)
Tumblr media
Hytham’s love languages are gift giving and quality time. Hear me out.
He's pretty quiet (compared to the rowdy Vikings, at least), but true to his creed, he watches everything and everyone like a hawk. This applies to you too.
Hytham is willing to wait when he starts to grow interested in someone. He’d much rather approach them only once he feels like he’s gotten to know them both from the inside and the outside. I don’t see him seeking his crush out from the very beginning – he prefers bonding with them over time and seeing where things go.
Do not be fooled by his acting. Whether he’s cackling at a joke, dining at the longhouse or target practicing, Hytham is sure to be eavesdropping on your conversation. If you’re nearby, that is. This doesn’t mean that he’s spying on you specifically – he tends to strain his ears (like all Hidden Ones do, really), and sometimes, if he’s lucky, he might just hear your voice.
When he does, he smiles to himself.
You’re good friends with Eivor, and often accompany her on her errands around the village. This has led you to the bureau multiple times, and Hytham is always caught off guard by the unexpected visit.
“🧍🏾‍♂️Oh. Good evening.”
You like the place, it’s cozy and the man isn’t bad company either. So you stay, and even if there’s other parchments he needs to finish before sunset, Hytham perks up at the chance to answer any question you might have (grinning and kicking his feet when you show interest in the creed).
So that’s where you spend time together. Celebrations in Ravensthorpe are also guaranteed to lure him out of his cove – you’ll be sure to find him letting loose and coming out of his shell more. His favorite game is apple bobbing, and he’s determined to win everytime – but despite his competitive streak, he might pretend to lose if he’s going up against you.
As for gift giving, it doesn’t evolve into actual physical gifts until later on (he thinks that’d be way too obvious). Instead, his first ‘gifts’ are things you might need.
Whether you have experience in fighting/self-defense or not, Hytham hints at the training yard he and Basim use. He invites you to use it whenever you please (you can pummel the dummies for a bit, as long as you put them back in their place); and if you have no experience whatsoever, he’ll gladly teach you some things.
You don’t get to have your own hidden blade though. Sorry (ask Basim for one)
But you can try his! Just don’t die.
If you do somehow get injured, you can have the medicine he’s made. It’s all yours.
Interested in a particular topic? He probably has a book about it at the bureau (or he’ll find it somehow, don’t ask) and will gladly let you take it.
Teaches you how to do the leap of faith. If you pull his leg just like Eivor did and don’t leave the haystack, I think he’d have a similar reaction.
“Very funny. You can come out now.”
“We are so not doing this rn.”
“Please.”
“Please, Basim will kill me.”
Things start to shift when you see the signs. You crack a joke with your friends and notice Hytham’s already looking at you with a soft smile. You tell him your pouch is broken, and remember the beautiful purse you’d once seen at a market in Lunden. Days later, coincidentally, Eivor brings you a beautiful leather pouch from the same city (hint: it wasn’t Eivor’s idea). You also find him playing hide and seek with the Norse children outside, and he urges you to join.
You start testing out your theories. When spring comes, you comment on the beauty of the blooming flowers and he’s immediately crouched down, going through every plant in your vicinity to tell you everything he knows about them. By the end, you have a large bouquet of flowers in your hands.
Eivor sees this, and jokingly tells Hytham he should get some purple ones and smack you in the face with them (a courting tradition amongst Vikings). Needless to say he’s mortified.
Random secret: he knows how to make flower crowns – his mother taught him when he was younger.
He’s giving you instructions as you weave the stems together, and you can’t help but feel his eyes glancing repeatedly between your hands and face.
It’s not until Ravensthorpe is attacked that you’re forced to face your feelings. The ambush is bad – there is no escape as the docks are on fire, and arrows are whizzing past you no matter where you run. Whether you’re a villager, a sage, or a warrior doesn’t really matter. It’s the kind of attack where you’re certain your next stop is going to be Valhalla.
But then the clashing of swords stop. The last enemy falls to their knees, and through the smoke and the ringing in your ears, you hear the roaring victory of your people.
Sigurd and Basim are looting the bodies. Eivor is opening the longhouse where the villagers have barricaded themselves. But you don’t catch sight of Hytham, not until you see him emerge from the woods along with the other Drengr. His white robes are flapping in the wind, his sword dripping with blood, and he’s holding his side as he grimaces. So you run to him.
He sheathes his weapon when he sees you alive and well, eyes darting all over your face as if scanning for injuries; and before you can say anything, he cups your face and locks his lips with yours.
Congrats! You’re now dating.
Basim tells you and Eivor something enigmatic months before his sudden betrayal. Hytham’s happiness is clearly reason for his gratitude, and no matter how much you insist that Ravensthrope is Basim’s home too, you’re only rewarded with a wry smile from the assassin.
It’s months later, when you’re sitting in the empty bureau with Hytham, that you reason Basim must have known. You watch as Hytham grips the table and rakes his hands through his hair, how he paces the room when he’s not squeezing your hand. He questions everything when you realize Basim must have known all this time – must have known that he wasn’t going to stay, that his apprentice would be alright. That Hytham would be happy in Ravensthorpe. And thus, you make sure it stays that way.

First off, that’s Mr. Hytham “I like a woman who can kick my ass kill me”
Nah jk 🤣but really tho 🫣
Hytham will be looking at you with the biggest blown out eyes in admiration
Learned from the Master Basim himself
Your prowess, your build, the braids and tattoos!!
If this is Valhalla, he never wants to leave
Watching you spar or fight in the middle of battles is an art to him, and the blood on your face does nothing to hinder what he admires in your features
Looks for any excuse just to talk to you, even as you tell stories around the fires
Eivor notices his disposition every time you come around, nudging him with a tease every time he blushes around you
Admires your braids and tattoos and asks constant questions about them, watching your face light up as you describe them
Tries to go on walks with you if he can, of course under the guise of “gathering intelligence”

I know Valka said Eivor and Kassandra would be "forced part ways forever", but what if our Seer is having an off day and it's actually Kassandra that gave Eivor the Viking burial she deserves? And then every year (or ten or 100), Kassandra would visit Eivor's grave with a bottle of mead TT-TT And Eivor accidentally becomes Kassandra's therapist when our girl needs to vent lol

Does anyone else run around Asgard, looking for an NPC that you think would be Sigyn? (I know it’s just me and my headcanon.)
She was only mentioned to by Loki & Angrboda, but I can still dream of running across her in Asgard thanks to the many NPC’s. 😂

Wow never thought I’d be here. It started with me thinking no one had posted about Jacob being ADHD and now I’m here.
Anyway on to the post!
Things we take for Granted in 2024 I think Assassin Creed Characters would Love
Altair: instant Messaging. It’s faster than pigeons
Malik: Kindles and Digital books. The man would smile at the wealth of knowledge he’d also appreciate modern medicine
Ezio: Tinder self explainorty
Connor: Compound Bows. For those not familiar with bows, compounds are usally easier to shoot
Evie: An app here in the US known as Libby. The idea that she can use the entire library from the comfort of home would definitely be a huge thing for her.
Jacob: would definitely love iPads. he is iPad kid energy
Bayek: Air conditioning because Egypt is hot
Alexios : Guns self explanatory
Eivor: Seasonings and Refrigeration both would definitely improve the feasts
