Tell me something I'll forget (and you might have to tell me again)
Mirabel's ceremony! Such a big day!
Isabela looked up, staring as her sister slowly reached her doorknob
Pedro and Alma swap au
Okay.... It definitely went wrong. Isabela backed away in shock, leaning on her Tía. Mirabel's door vanished right in front of their eyes. Leaving a shining unsertanity in the air. Can the door even disappear? How? In Isabela's long eleven years long life she hadn't seen anything quite like that. The Madrigals stared in confusion, the world was frozen. Mirabel stared at Abuelo with such sad eyes. Several petals fell off the flower crown that Isabela had made for her. Mama and Papa held each other tightly, with wide open mouths. The wind blew in the patio, a right sign of how worried Tía Pepa was.
"Shh..." Felíx patted her spine, trying to make her calm down. "Mi vida, it's okay." Of course, he was the one to stay optimistic despite the situation. Always looking on the bright side.
"Dolly, do you know what's going on?" Isabela leaned closer to her twin-cousin. She was smart, maybe she had already figured out what happened (on simply heard it)
Dolores slowly tilted her head. "No idea. I didn't hear anyone talking about that ever before." Yeah, everyone before got their gifts? Why wouldn't Mirabel have one too? Isabela's grip on her cousin's palm tightened.
Camilo's eyes looked between his parents, sister, and cousins, trying to understand what was going on. He shapeshifted from nerves, gripping Tía's hand.
Pedro shook his head, turning to the guests, mainly Agústin's relatives and family friends. "Today's celebration's dismissed. Please, everyone, go home." The Madrigal Candle in his hands flickered, fading for just a bare second. Flashes of yellow light fell on the floor
With it, the small amount of people who were invited went out of the dark patio, grumbling.
Things spun around really fast. Isabela found herself bored in her room. Don't get her wrong, she was worried. And upset too. But sitting in her room wouldn't do anything.
She suspected that her parents were with Mirabel. Of course, Isabela couldn't imagine how she felt. So young, helpless. Even more than Isabela herself. Tía Pepa and Tío Felix probably were comforting their kids. And heavens knew what was Luisa doing. This left her alone in this predicament. When everyone was busy and she didn't have anyone to ask all the hard questions in her mind.
Isabela walked out on her toes. She knew she had to be quiet if she didn't want to get caught by Abuelo. She hated it, she wasn't Dolores who could move like a ghost. But Isabela would prefer to suffer for a bit than to be found.
Casita creaked its tile, asking Isabela to stay away. The young girl just shook her head, patting one of the pillars. "C'mon, I want to help," She demanded, pushing herself to a weak light, coming from one of the rooms.
Abuelo paced around the kitchen nervously, as Luisa (of course, it's always her) followed him like a duckling. In a candlelight, Isabela could see how pale her sister was. Not like she could blame her. Tío Bruno knocked on the table in this heavy predicament. It was quiet. Isabela peaked through the doorway, but the trio was a bit distracted. It was dark, candles glimmered, dripping with wax. The table was filled with food that wasn't going to be used in the way they planned.
Finally, Abuelo turned to Tío Bruno. "Okay, here's what we'll do. You go take a vision." His fists clenched from bursting nerves. "If there's anything wrong, if it means any danger we must know."
Danger? For what? Pfff... Isabela bet she could help with it herself! And she doesn't even need that stupid shimmering fashionable sword. (tho she had to admit, it looks extremely cool) She can help with plants!
Bruno winced. "Papa, are you sure? I mean..."
"Bruno." Pedro had cut him off. "It's for the family. You have to ensure Mirabel's safe."
It was something they heard every day. They needed to be in safety. No matter how boring it was. It was strange, Dolores had said that other girls didn't live like them. They were going to school, and playing outdoors. Isabela really couldn't understand why they were locked in.
The younger man nodded, nervous. Isabela could see him shrink under Abuelo's gaze. Again, it wasn't something unexpected. Abuelo didn't like it when anyone disobeyed him.
Lost in her thoughts, Isabela didn't notice how Tío Bruno almost bumped into her. She jumped back, startled. Damn, she didn't plan to be caught.
Bruno winced looking down at her. "Kid? What are you doing in here?"
"Don't tell Abuelo I was here!" Isabela begged. She feared to think what Abuelo would do. (He probably won't actually do anything bad, just scold her and close her in her room. She wasn't sure why she was so worried about his reaction)
Bruno's eyes widened, he gestured stop. ", Okay, okay..."
She bit her lip, looking up. With how dark it was, she barely could make out her Tío's outlines. "Do you know anything?"
Bruno shrugged his shoulders. "Gotta see the future for that?" He patted her spine, nervous as always. "Are you worried for your sister?"
Isabela didn't reply. Her mind still was too wild to proceed with everything that had happened. Maybe she was? Or maybe she was upset or mad? Or confused? She didn't quite realize her own feelings yet. "Have a good vision."
It would be better not only for Bruno but for Mirabel too. And, well, Isabela wouldn't leave him alone tomorrow until he confessed of what he saw.
Bruno froze, staring at the tablet in front of his eyes. An older Mirabel stood in front of Casita. A series of deep cracks ran all over the building. But, when Bruno tilted the vision plate, it would be changed differently.
For the cheese's sake, what does it mean? His visions were never like this. It was supposed to be one certain future that was set in stone. Not.... Whatever it was.
Papa would be so disappointed. Probably say that Bruno wasn't strong enough and failed to protect her. Part of him was afraid. Of the disappointment. Of facing his dad. Bruno didn't want to get in trouble for this vision.
And what would happen to Mirabel if Pedro knows? Knowing his papa, Bruno couldn't imagine a good reaction. In the best case she would probably be protected so much she wouldn't be able to breathe. But, honestly, Bruno could imagine Pedro just sending Mirabel out of Casita from fear that the building would fall on her.
He didn't want this to happen. It would break Mirabel's heart. It would break everyone. Bruno knew he couldn't tell about it to anyone. Was he a coward? Maybe. But he wasn't ready to show it. He didn't think he ever would.
The green plate shattered against the rock in his vision cave. Shrads of the green glass were scattered around the sand, slowly falling under it.
The hard metallic door creaked behind Bruno.

Im tired of saying and seeing this shit so correct spellings of Encanto characters down below! I would highly recommend reading this if youre not entirely sure on spellings or just in general!
Format:
(Correct character name spelling)
(Misspellings)
(Potential reasons for misspellings/ why they’re wrong/ nicknames from movie if applicable)
Abuela Alma.
I haven’t really seen any misspellings for her! Maybe an “Amla” but thats understandable
Abuelo Pedro
Haven’t seen anything for him either!
Julieta
This one, along with all of them, I understand.
“Julietta” or “Juiletta” or “Juileta” or “Juliette”
Common and understandable mistakes
Pepa
“Peppa”
She has a nickname tho! Its Pepi 😌
Bruno
Lmao literally in a song title. Havent seen a misspelling for this one
Agustín
“Augustine” “Augustin” “Augustín”
I actually used that last misspelling a few times when not paying attention, lol
The accent isnt there for show! But again, understandable if you never learned Spanish, they can be easy to overlook.
Also, no “Au”
Félix
“Felíx” “Felix”
Again, just the accent placement or lack of accent. Its in there, and its above the e!
Isabela
“Isabella” “Isabelle”
Very common and I get it! I was confused learning Spanish and the Spanish spelling of my name because my name has a double L but my Spanish name didnt. A double L makes a y sound, so youre actually saying “Isabeya” in Spanish when you spell it “Isabella”
Dolores
Haven’t seen one other than the occasional typo like “Doloras”
Edit: Someone mentioned seeing “Delores” a few times. Its actually a variant of the name “Dolores”, but its still not her name.
Luisa
“Louisa” “Lusia”
No “o”. I think people are getting it from “Louis”, which, okay, but her name is more of a female version of “Luis”
Camilo
“Camillo”
Same shit that I had mentioned with Isabela’s name. No double L. That makes “Camiyo”
Mirabel
“Maribel” “Mirabelle” “Maribelle”
Not much of an explanation but at this point just listen to how their names are said in the movie bc in Spanish the word is almost always (and by that I mean like 99%) spelled how it sounds
Antonio
I haven’t seen one, actually.
He has a nickname too tho! Toñito 😁
Other people:
Mariano
Señora Ozma
Hernando (hood over head Bruno)
Jorge (bucket over head Bruno)
Señora Guzmán
Casita

OF COURSE I CAN!!!! Don't wanna leave y'all fluff readers dry, so yeah <333
Decided to add Pedro as well, might as well 😭😭
Les get it
------
Alma and Pedro were walking side by side, simply enjoying each other’s company. They loved being together, and it didn’t take much to make each other happy. They were simply walking when suddenly they saw many construction and painter Koopas leaving the family room.
“Did you order any construction for today?” Pedro asked, pointing to the ones that filed out of the room.
“No? I never did…” Alma mumbled, curious as to what they were doing in there. As far as she knew, she didn’t authorize any changes to the castle, and neither did her her husband. The only other ones who had access was…
“Is that Pepa?” Pedro pointed to his daughter, who had just walked out of the room. The woman had noticed them and quickly ran over, shouting something excitedly. “Wait, slow down. What?”
Pepa used manipulated the gravity around her, causing herself to float up towards her parents height. “I said me and Julieta need to show you something!” With that Pepa landed back on the ground, running back to the family room. Pedro and Alma looked at each other before shrugging and following Pepa.
As soon as the two walked into the room, they could see their other two children and their son in laws in the room with them, looking at the family tree. The smell of fresh paint was present in the room, so it was obvious what had been painted.
“Mama, Papa, you’re here!” Julieta ran over, hugging the two.
“Hola mija,” Alma said hugging her back. “Pepa says you two have something to show us?”
“Yeah, why was the construction Koopa Crew just in here? Did any of you make any changes?” Pedro asked, gesturing behind them to where the koopa’s had just left.
Both Julieta and Pepa giggled as they kept looking at each other. The two wouldn’t say anything and simply kept look at their husbands (the two weren’t talking either, just smiling and waving), the family tree, then back at Pedro and Alma. The two elders just watched them in a confused and curious manner, wondering what the heck was so funny.
They saw Bruno float over on his cloud, looking at his sisters before rolling his eyes. “They aren’t gonna tell you. Took me 10 minutes to get something out of them when I first found out,” Bruno pointed at the family tree. “Just go look at the tree.”
Pedro and Alma looked at each other before shrugging. Might as well humor them. They walked over and looked at the large portrait. Clearly it had been updated; it was usually updated 4 or 5 every-ish years. Nothing seeemed out of the ordinary.
“What…what am I looking for?” Alma asked, still genuinely confused.
“Look at the names,” Julieta giggled.
Looking back at the portrait, they looked once again, at the names this time. It seemed normal. Felíx, Pepa, Bruno, Julieta, Agustín. Ok, that didn’t change. But it was when they got to their own names that they finally realized what had changed.
Abuelo Pedro and Abuela Alma.
The couple froze. Giggling and laughing could be heard from behind them as they finally seemed to get in on whatever the others were going on about.
Alma stepped back for a moment before looking at her daughters for confirmation. They both nodded.
“Wait…both of you?” Alma managed to utter. Both her daughters nodded once more. Alma took in a deep breath, bent down and picked the two women up, hugging them.
And then proceeded to cry. Something she almost never did, ever.
“Mama, why are you crying?” Julieta laughed, hugging her mama back.
“I’m gonna be an Abuela,” Alma said, barely managing the words out as she squeezed her daughters. “I’m gonna be an Abuela!” Just as soon as her tears started, they stopped, and Alma was laughing out loud. An abuela! Her! She was so excited!
Pedro finally seemed to register the information he was given as he suddenly broke into a wide smile, letting out a laugh of his own. “An abuelo…” he said looking up. He joined his wife in hugging their daughters, easily picking all three of them up and spinning them.
Even when they were all sat down, Alma and Pedro were still sporting bright smiles. “When did you find out?” Alma asked, already planning the many baby things she would make.
“Just last week! We were going to tell you right away, but Bruno, Agustín and Fèlix had suggested and come up with the plan that we show you in the family tree,” Julieta explained.
“That was clever, I’ll give you that, Pedro nodded. It was impressive. “It would also explain the construction and painting crew. They must have been expanding the tree and repainting huh?”
“¡Si! Bruno had gotten them on short notice, so thankfully that went well,” Fèlix sighed.
"That also explains why you kept bringing us to random locations, even outside of the kingdom," Alma said eyeing Bruno, who looked nervously to the side as he scratched his nape.
"Well I needed to keep you out of this room somehow! I didn't want the surprise to be spoiled." Bruno shrugged. More than once, they had almost been caught. If it wasn't for Bruno (and Agustin,), they would have been caught long before it was finished.
"Regardless, this is great news! We have to throw a baby shower," Alma said happily.
"Mama, we just found out! We don't even know if its a boy or a girl," Pepa chuckled.
"That doesn't mean I can't plan ahead! I'm going to spoil them," Alma declared.
Pedro and Alma couldn't be more happy.

Ok this like a continuation???? Of that one snippet anon sent haha
Maria guided her grandchildren into her and her husbands house, her son following behind in confusion.
“Mamá, did…did you know already?” Felíx asked, closing the door behind him.
Maria walked over to a small storage closet, rummaging around. “Yes! Well…yes and no. See, mí padre was a merman. Told me about it, and showed me, a long time ago. I always had a feeling the grandchildren would take after him, but I was never really sure.” She pulled out an incredibly old and dusty wooden box, which Felíx recognized as one of the many photo boxes his Mamá kept.
Sitting down, the family surrounded her, her husband chuckling at their curiosity. Maria opened the box and shuffled through tons of photos, most of them from her childhood. She finally pulled the two photos she needed out, dusting it off and holding the first one out for everyone to see.
“Hey, that looks like Antonio’s tail!” Luisa pointed at the picture, to which Maria nodded.
“Sí nieta. That’s is your bisabuelo, and Felíx’s abuelo. He passed a little before Felíx’s birth, he was quite old. This, is a picture from when he was younger, probably one of the only photos I have left of him in his form.”
“B-But when? How come you didn’t tell me?” Felíx questioned.
Maria sighed. “Well, I had just forgotten after so long…and I hadn’t known that mi nietos would shift either.” She set the photo down, showing off the next one. The photo made everyone (sans Carlos and Maria of course) gasp.
“Is that…?” Mirabel trailed off.
“Yup. That, is mi papá, and that,” she pointed to the small merboy smiling brightly in the photo. “Is Pedro.”
Tumblr media
“That’s Abuelo Pedro?” Fèlix stared at the photo hard. It really did look like Pedro, just much younger.
“Yes. Mí papá taught him how to swim.” She set down the photo. “I guess with both mi papa and Pedro, you kids had the largest amount of genes.”
Isabela picked up the photo and smirked. “Abuela’s gonna have a fit when she sees that the love of her life is a “sea devil”.
“I wanna be there when you show her—ow! Hey!” Fèlix chuckled playfully as his mama slapped his arm. He sure was going to enjoy Alma’s reaction to this newfound information.
