I was curious if you knew any good science/structure books and any fantasy books about dogs maybe?

My absolute favorite dog book about structure is "Structure in Action: The Makings of a Durable Dog" by Pat Hastings. This book is different than a lot of other structural science books because instead of framing a dogs structure around what is correct in its standard, it frames it around the context of what a dog does and may be bred to do. It also breaks down structural terms as well as the benefits and flaws of certain points of structure on dogs. Overall a really helpful book and a pretty easy read.

As a fantasy enthusiast myself I'd say that fantasy books feature wolves a lot more than they feature dogs which is unfortunate and adult fantasy specifically can be really unkind to canines in general as a way of projecting how "dark" and "grim" their world building is. Not to say that dog death trope can't be effective (any of the wolf deaths in ASOIAF actively slaughter me...), but I do grow a bit tired of endless animal companion death.

That being said Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy is a favorite of mine and features a nice human/dog bond, although be warned this is not a happy ending sort of fare. For a more wholesome experience Gaspode from the Discworld books is a joy (he's kind of like a proto-Dug from Pixar's Up). the Malazan series features a number of canines.

For non-fantasy Winterdance by Gary Paulson is a must, it's true and hilarious. For non-recovered wolf kids like myself some of my favorite books of all time are The Sight and its sequel Fell by David Clement-Davies. My copies are so tattered.

what would grian's redstone exposure be? additionally, is he part bird to you?

grian’s in the ‘minimal exposure’ category bc he’s primarily a builder. he’s done some redstoning here and there, but it takes quite a bit of exposure to get to the stage where it alters your eye color

also no, i don’t actually imagine him as part bird? i hadn’t given it much thought before, but i sorta prefer his elytra use as an acquired skill rather than an innate one, and i don’t really see any of his other traits as particularly birdlike

i might change my mind later though, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My prof gave us this giant slab of plywood and said we had to cut it up in 4-6 pieces and rearrange it to make a painting about time and narrative (unless you don’t want to, he said, do whatever). This shit is heavy as fuck but it’s ok because I’m the strongest person in the whole world and nationally renowned arm wrestler. Anyway, I drilled through the front of my panels in 4 places by accident because I forgot to measure the width of the scrap wood i was using to brace the pieces. Idgaf though. Like genuinely I am not sad. Also, the school only allows gamsol in the studios and there are signs about that everywhere but my professor has old man cred and actually made it a requirement that I use linseed oil because he said it was a “shame” how my “beautiful colors” were not allowed to be luminous because the gamsol flattens them so badly. So now I’m being illegal in the studio, but apparently literally everyone has been doing that this whole time. Shout out to me for not being able to discern the severity of certain rules. You can already see the difference tho. The panel with the silhouettes, all the snow was painted with linseed oil. Every other dull matte panel is all gamsol. Anyway this is due Tuesday and I only consider it 50 percent done so wish me luck

they both have breaking free from high school musical though, because it's their couple song and they have to do a duet number to it on karaoke nights with the other champions

the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep – where they’re not supposed to

you're not going to believe this but link frequently falls asleep at the bottom of the flight range and not even revali understands why. i guess it's fairly isolated??? but the updrafts are pretty fucking loud so???

you will almost never catch revali slipping, except when you do. the easy answer would be the flight range hut, but the funnier answer is the heart-shaped hole in the rito rock pillar. why are you there. wait a minute why is link sleeping here too. what the fuck. you people are gay!

the game they'd destroy everyone else at

i learned how to play the card game 'nerts' recently and i think link would eat this game up because he's so competitive. he would absolutely kill at super smash brothers and also minecraft bedwars

revali likes a good challenging game of chess and he plays fire emblem on permadeath mode, fucking nerd lmao. i feel like revali would slay at competitive pokemon though

the emoticon they’d use most often

link uses the 🫡 and 🧍 emojis a lot, but he also gives very much ^_^ and O.o user vibes

revali does a lot of 👍/👎 and 😃 like a boomer, but you'd never guess that he likes the 🍥 emoji. it's because it's cute and reminds him of link 🥺

what they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep

i am the #1 sleepy link enjoyer. there is nothing better on this earth than link drowsily pulling at revali's scarf just to give him a sleepy kiss to his beak and then fall back asleep.

if this is about being sleep-deprived though, link is thoroughly traumatized from constant sleepless nights traveling through hyrule and developing hypervigilance as a survival response. revali feels similarly because he didn't need to sleep as a spirit trapped on medoh so sometimes neither of them can genuinely sleep unless they have each other

otherwise, link is dead silent and stares while revali will verbally threaten to defenestrate you if you even breathe at him wrong. he is 10x more violent if you bother a sleep-deprived link, too.

their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights. or mornings. or whenever

link loves hot chocolate idc idc i will not take any criticism for this. he puts marshmallows in his hot chocolate, he has a sweet tooth

revali enjoys herbal tea. these days, he's been making a blend of hyrule herbs and cool saffinas. link has revali make him tea, sometimes and they sit together in their roost just drinking and talking to each other about their day

how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump

link cooks/eats and naps. he fr the type to stress cook, so the whole village eating a feast tonight if link feels like shit, and he'll much better after cooking and seeing everyone well-fed :) he especially likes to nap on revali, but he'll sleep on just about anything. still prefers to sleep on revali though, and will get pouty until revali gives in

revali flies around the hebra mountains when he feels unmotivated or uninspired, just to enjoy the scenery of his home. if he feels like shit, that means it's time to have a dust bath to maintain his plumage and keep himself clean. link does not understand how bathing in dust makes revali clean, but he has fleshy hylian skin so he wouldn't get it. he also does bow maintenance because if he's not in top shape, neither are his bows

what they wanted to be when they grew up

link would have wanted to stay in hateno and either be a farmer or take over his mother's equestrian training course. i think he'd be a good archery and swordsmanship teacher, too

revali probably still would have wanted to be the greatest warrior and archer of the rito, but i think he would have done well as a bard or also an archery teacher. archery teachers revalink au?

their favorite kind of weather

both of them love a bright sun and clear skies, especially in the brisk wind of the tabantha and hebra regions. idk how to explain it but sunny day no clouds + cold wind just hits different... perfect weather for flying or napping together :)

link does enjoy it when they go into the mountains and it starts snowing, and revali likes it when link enjoys things because he's a simp

thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?)

y'all already know my thoughts on link's voice and a bit about revali's voice! i need them to sing a duet together!

they're both tenors, but link can hit alto notes in his head voice and revali usually stays in his chest voice and can go a little deeper towards baritone but he mostly has a tenor range

link's voice is sweeter and gentler, and revali's more powerful by volume and is more prone to belting

how/what they like to draw or doodle

link has one of those 'wreck this journal' books and he straight up be throwing that shit off cliffs. lowkey though, i think link would be really good at art and he would make stuff similar to jean-michel basquiat's work.

link has a whole sketchbook of things he drew throughout his journey through hyrule and he's pretty good at realism! but there are a couple of pages blacked out completely with dark scribbles and sometimes revali will wake up in the middle of the night to link sitting in the middle of their roost with the sketchbook open to one of those scribbled out pages, staring at it with blank eyes. revali doesn't ask; he just gets out of the hammock to pull link back into bed and holds him tight, singing softly until link falls back asleep.

revali is very much like fe3h edelgard in which he hides every piece of art he's ever made because he's embarrassed about not being the best at it, except link is good at finding shit and digs it up and puts it on display in their roost. revali can either only draw stick figures or he can paint something straight out of the impressionist era, there is no in between

(he likes to paint things that remind him of link, so quite a few of his paintings are shades of blue, green, and bright yellow because they're colors that remind him of link :>)

can i be borderline controversial and say that i do think there's a correlation between the love and adoration for the other kings, Leviathan's brutal honesty about grey-morality and involvement in war when you know him as Leviathan, and his lack of worshipers here under that name. the controversial part being that the other kings seem way more into propaganda flourishing and part of why i say that is because ive known both of them and they fucking do that oops hashtag UPG (PVG) spilled outta my pockets there

ie its always people who work for the other kings i see so caught up in how loving and pure the kings and ''demons'' are, and you COULD say that's just because Lev doesn't have many worshipers under that name but I think its more so because when you know "Leviathan" uhhhhh. like you could say lack of lev worshipers = lack of lev propaganda but i think its more so lev isnt going to pretend to be a beautiful siren man in a suit who tells you he loves you so so much even tho he just met you two seconds ago

I freaking love seeing the arguments lol. I've never seen this many people talking about aroace people before and it's over a demonic deer man that's a cannibal. Genuinely wouldn't have it any other way it's funny imo. Anyway here's how I feel as an aroace summarized.

Some writing advice for hunting, bc I see a lot of hunting scenes in fantasy that make me itch. More under the cut. Don't read if you're sensitive to blood-and-guts discussion or animal death.

Finding game:

- I don't hunt much these days bc I don't feel like getting my ass out of bed at shitfuck o'clock every weekend during the season. Which you have to do, because much of the time you come home empty-handed. Successful hunts come about when you're out there often.

- You don't really have to be a good tracker to hunt, but you do have to know the basics of your prey and you have to be able to interpret the landscape even if it's unfamiliar. It's less likely a tracker is looking for "bent blades of grass" or whatever and more likely they are noticing game trails, sheltered areas where nests and burrows are, a spot of thick vegetation which would indicate a water source.

- Scat and footprints are useful too ofc but to varying degrees. If I'm hunting deer it's just confirmation that they're in the area; more often I use knowledge of their habits to actually find them. If I were hunting something elusive and solitary like a cougar I would pay more attention to the tracks but that's also a reason people hunt with dogs!

Actually hunting:

- Bows are not the only hunting weapons, though would be most common in ur typical medieval fantasy type setting. Spears and lances, slings with stones, and clubs would also be used. And knives and swords but in this hunter's opinion, FUUUUCK that.

- Lung shot is a quick death. Heart shot and head shot too but that is much harder. Other shots might mean tracking a wounded animal as it runs away. This is where things like broken twigs/bent grass are especially telling, and ofc blood. Small game bleed out faster and won't get as far but you might spend quite a while running after an elk shot in the flank.

- This highly depends on the prey but hunting often involves more sitting around than people realize. I bring a small pad for my booty ass bc sometimes you'll spend hours in a strategic spot waiting for the game to pass by. Also hides (the shelter, not the skins) are a thing and most hunters would consider shelter-building an essential skill.

- Hunting seasons are not entirely a modern convention -- there are better times of year to find different animals. But there would be less concern, historically, about killing animals during the breeding season than we have today.

- Even when I was hunting regularly and more confident, I got a huge adrenaline spike EVERY time I had an animal in my sights.

Big game:

- A deer has a lot of meat on it and though it's not a bad thing to leave a carcass for scavengers, your party of two or three adventurers probably will not go to the trouble of hunting deer unless they have some nearby place to cache, preserve, or trade what they can't eat before it spoils. Are they leaving it behind or do they have some way to take full advantage of such a large kill?

- If your character gets a large game animal they're probably going to field dress it: deal with all the blood and guts on site, then quarter it so it can be packed back to the campsite or whatever. My dad is a big burly mutant man and he cannot carry a deer by himself. You can carry game on poles or horseback too but field dressing is pretty typical in a situation where u can't just fling it in the back of the truck and hang it at home.

- I grew up eating bear and when it comes up I'm often surprised how many people don't know that people hunt bear for meat. It's tasty imo, especially makes a good sausage

- I can hunt deer alone, though company is nice. I wouldn't attempt hunting something more dangerous by myself. Large animals especially are better taken down as a group effort. In the TES context for example it would be kind of insane to hunt horker alone. Not that some folks wouldn't try.

Small game:

- A character who subsists mostly on hunting is going to be eating a lot of small game. They are probably going to use traps and snares in addition to actually going out on hunts.

- Look up "rabbit starvation." Small game is often (but not always) lean and going without fat for a long time can cause serious health issues.

- I joke that you don't hunt turkey, you just go get one. Game birds are kind of stupid. I plan a deer hunt, but I have gone out and shot grouse on a whim.

Processing:

- Draining blood, skinning, plucking, butchering, dealing with all the bones and guts, storage and preservation: pretty time consuming and involved. It's a good excuse for social activity.

- The moneyed classes likely would not process their kills themselves, unless they're doing some kinda randyll tarly masculinity flex for the symbolism. Kitchen staff or a local butcher would handle it.

- A good skinning knife is kinda wide and short. Some game knives have a rounded tip which keeps it from puncturing the skin in case of accidental slippage.

- Skinning is done with a light hand bc puncturing the digestive system means you've poisoned the meat. I will say it is less difficult than I expected it to be the first time I tried it.

- We don't eat a lot of offal in the US but a deer liver, for example, would be considered prime meat by many and eaten first. Bear, walrus, and seal liver contain toxic amounts of vitamin A and would be thrown away.

- I've been told every animal has enough brains to tan its own hide, but I think there are some exceptions. It's definitely true of deer and elk. With small animals like rabbits it's hardly worth the effort of getting the brains out and other things can be used but brain tanned leather is soooo soft and nice.

- Hides and pelts are useful and valuable and would be kept or traded if circumstances allowed. You can tightly roll a hide to keep it from drying out before tanning, or you can freeze it, basically indefinitely. You can also air dry it once scraped clean and soften it later, which is what fur hunters would most likely do for efficiency's sake. Tanning is also so so so fucking gross imo. Really slimy process, and tanneries REEK.

That's all I can think of for now and this is already hella long but the takeaway is that it is generally a pretty involved activity and more impactful on lifestyle than I usually see depicted. So there ya have it

The way "alt" is done nowdays is so exasperating. People (rightfully) talk about how dark academia and cottagecore and those trends that imo aren't "alt" but are distinctive aesthetics are more in the business of looking like they're someone who reads a lot or someone who bakes and lives in the countryside respectively instead of putting any emphasis on actually reading a lot of learning substainability or homekeeping.

And the same happens with the way alt anything is being done lately and that's why so many people get so disproportionately angry and defensive when someone who's actually into a subCULTURE corrects them, especially if that person doesn't even "look" the part as much as their fake asses do.

No interest in actual countercultural politics, ideology, sentiment, praxis or even artistic expression or practice.

They want to look like they're someone who's into unfathomably obscure non-palatable music and ideas, without having to actually put any effort into cultivating their musical knowledge or identity. They want the whole VISUAL package immediately, but nothing else (hint: that's why you get called posers).

Here's a fun story for everybody. I've been involved in my local goth scene for about 10 years now, I've been going to clubs and shows and events for about 10 years, I've been a DJ in the scene for about 6 years.

A few years ago I got booked for a DJ gig for one of my friends' club nights. I was late, unfortunately. It happens. I got to the venue about 30 minutes after the night started and I looked pretty bad… Worse than usual. I didn't have my hair up, I wasn't dressed nice, I had gym shorts on and a hoodie… I just had all my stuff with me in a bag and was planning on changing in the bathroom.

And there's this guy there that was all dressed up. He's got leather pants with straps, Demonias, he's wearing a black buttoned down tshirt with a fishnet shirt underneath it, his face is full of makeup… He looked like a Chris Motionless wannabe, basically.

And as I'm walking in to walk toward the stage to put my stuff up there, then go to the bathroom to change, the Chris Motionless wannabe stops me. Like, he puts his hand out, like this, like, on my chest, and he looks at me and he goes "Oh, I'm sorry, are you lost?"

And I look at him like a deer in headlights, like… What…? He repeats the question, and I just stare at him and say "I'm DJing tonight…" and he returns the look.

Anyway, I just brush past him and I go do my thing. It was a great night, I had a great crowd to my set, everybody was dressed in all sorts of ways; some people were really dressed up, some people were just wearing a tshirt and jeans, nothing special, but they were all dancing, they were all having fun.

The Chris Motionless wannabe didn't dance ONCE, and for what I saw, it didn't look like he was having fun, it looked like he was just standing around trying to look cool. In fact, at the end of the night, one of my friends told me that a guy that kinda looked like Chris Motionless remarked about how he hated the music and wished it was heavier. I don't know exactly what that means, I'm going to assume that he wanted to hear Metal.

That was about 3 years ago, and I have not seen that guy since. Not at any clubs, not at any shows… It's like he just disappeared, and I expect that I'll probably never see him again.

Anyway, the point is; sometimes the people that keep your local goth scene going, who are dancing the most at your local clubs, and who keep goth DJs like me feeling inspired to continue doing this, and to continue to seek out new music… Sometimes those people are just wearing a tshirt and jeans and aren't all that dressed up.

And, sometimes, the people who're dressed to the nines, who look the part and have a closet full of expensive brand clothing, just stay home all day, on TikTok, pretending to be better than everybody else, with cringey usernames like "goth daddy" and "goth king" and "goth goddess". Sometimes - not always, but sometimes - those are the people I wish I never had to run into in my local scene.

Robin and Kitty having a super close sibling bond off screen means everything to me.

They both have animal-themed nicknames.

They're the two "youngest" ghosts, nearly the same age physically.

They're the only two ghosts who aren't native Brits (Jamaica and god-knows-where-Europe-maybe??).

Kitty picking him to be her caretaker while she's "pregnant" and Robin just going along with rubbing her feet even though he knows it's BS.

He totally taught her how to communicate with animals and they'll go into the forest together so she can talk to deer and mice and pet the ghost animals, like the two Disney Princesses they both are.

NOBODY ASKED but… Obviously Simon’s arc in adventure time solidified the series as one of greatest of all time (and I’m so hyped for this ice king sadness renaissance) but now I’m thinking of OTHER Adventure Time moments that rewired my brain as a kid. In no particular order:

1. “Once the strong guys got it how they liked it they said ‘this is fair now. This is the law.’ Once they were winning they changed the rules”. They really had the cartoon dog say that on tv in 2014.

2. “People get built different. We don’t have to understand it, we just gotta respect it”

3. The entirety of All The Little People. That shit was absolutely nuts for a kids show but also like…. I can’t articulate the lesson I just know there was one and it haunted me. The danger of the human ego. Hubris. Irreverence. Don’t play god bro.

4. Lady and Peebles. When PB ripped Ricardio’s leg off and bashed his skull in with it. And it was so hardcore they edited it out of the episode. Bro. I remember watching that after school one day and how my jaw just DROPPED at a PRINCESS being so brutal. They let her be so fucking angry and that was a game changer.

5. [Finn, about a horrific memory] “that one’s going in the vault. Aaaaaaaaaandd. It’s gone.” I quote that CONSTANTLY. It’s a great way to bring levity to a bad situation, but also forces me to go “hey wait a sec that’s not gonna work forever”. Things don’t stay in the vault.

6. Puhoy. He lived an entire life in that pillow world. He had kids. And then it’s just gone like a dream.

7. The deer. It was probably my first real introduction to horror. The hand wiggle. You all know exactly what I’m referencing. Were the candy people stuck in that well for 6 months???

8. What Was Missing!! Obviously now because it foreshadowed (and confirmed past) Bubbline, but back then just because it was so good??? IMO, this is the episode that defined WHO our main cast was, and how their relationships needed to grow for them to be content. It set up the next 6 years of the show! Plus it gave us 2 absolute BANGERS. Ugh i rewatched that recording so many times it wasn’t even funny.

9. Ghost Princess. Really just for the line where he sounds like he’s gonna shit his pants remembering his death and then in a clear narrator voice he’s like “I was a broken man.”

10. The pajama war episode. Now I’m doing this from memory so I could be wrong, but I think this really marks the start of Finn growing up. “I’ve really enjoyed just… hanging out with you.” The ability to start over with someone you’ve got complicated history with. The kindness. The growth from both of them!! It’s a direct parallel of episode 1 but their tones couldn’t be more different and I love it.

11. The slow and horrifying realization that The Mushroom War was nuclear Armageddon. Mushroom clouds. That went so far over my head as a kid even though they reference it constantly. It finally clicked during “I remember you”. Which I am NOT gonna go into because holy fuck that’s like 18 posts on its own.

12. Goliad! A child mirroring EVERYTHING they see, for better or worse. Seeing Jake in a bad moment screaming at the kids and goliad absorbing that behavior. Seeing she can use fear to control people. Also PB was Fucking Crazy! Her line “I’m not gonna live forever… I would if I could” is even more unhinged when we learn (like years later) that she’s already 900 years old. But she does physically age so I guess there’s that. The Suitor also falls into this category of episodes.

Ok getting into some of the more talked about moments

1. OK I LIED I have to talk about I remember you. I was 11 years old. I turned on the new adventure time episode like usual. 10 minutes later I was grappling with a grief I had never imagined before. Absolutely BAWLING not just for Simon and Marceline (the PLOT), but for what it showed me. The reality that every kid tries not to think about: your loved ones will leave you someday, even if they don’t want to. It’s an episode that becomes more powerful with every year I get older. To get a bit personal, dementia has completely taken my grandparents from me. I’ve seen sides of my grandfather that should never have existed, and I must constantly forgive him for what he does… now that he doesn’t remember me. And someday it’ll be my parents. That’s just the way of the world, ya know? Anyways, I remember my mom got home right as the credits were rolling and we had a long talk about keeping people alive with memory, mortality, and how the future was far away and we should decide on dinner lmao.

2. The Hall of Egress. I was almost 15. Life was changing. I was changing, and it was strange and frightening. That feeling where you know you’re losing your childhood but you just want to cling to it. Follow the same old familiar path, stick with what’s comfortable. But life doesn’t work that way. It took me years to really understand this episode and it’s symbolism. Honestly I still don’t think I could fully explain it. It’s like. How do I put this. I was so glad to be in the target age group in that moment. I was so glad that something I was growing up with was assuring me “you’re changing, but we’re changing too”. And isn’t that the theme of adventure time? Everything stays, but it still changes.

3. The absolute horror of Ferns existence. He’s Finn, but he’s wrong and warped. All those memories of the people he loves and they can’t stand to be in the same room as him.

4. Susan Strong. The introduction of a RUNNING PLOT. The show up to that point had really been so goofy and so monster of the week. I think the only really plot heavy episode before this one was It Came From the Nightosphere? And then suddenly they call into question the fact that Finn really is the ONLY HUMAN in all of OOO. And then… is he? It was SUCH a departure from the usual tone. Ending that episode with him reaching below her hat and gasping in shock, but never telling the audience what he found. And then she’s just gone. Which leads us to Islands!

5. Min and Marty. Second saddest episode in the entirety of adventure time, made worse because you know exactly how this family is gonna end up. There’s SO MUCH to dissect about Martins behavior in the series. A reformed con artist receives a traumatic brain injury while attempting to save his son. They’re both lost at sea, and he never looks for him. Was it the emotional trauma? Was it the physical damage? Meanwhile a mother loses her husband and her child in a single night and never EVER learns why. Nobody but Martin knows what happened that night. Also Finns fear of the ocean from season 1 is finally explained. 7 years of ignoring Finns origins and then they throw you THIS??? Watching it live was unreal.

Anyways I’m sure I’ll think of more. I might add on to this later for my own sake lmao, but I’d love to hear other peoples formative moments, quotes, episodes, etc. I really just needed to dump this information out of my brain so I can get on with my week.

what their kisses are like - tokrev boys

some kiss hcs for a selections of my personal tokyo revengers blorbos, including: Mikey, Draken, Baji, Chifuyu, Kazutora, Hakkai, Taiju, Koko, and Inupi.

Generally speaking, Mikey kisses confidently. You have about a 50/50 chance of getting a kiss from The Invincible Mikey, who, of course, is on top of the fucking world. But the other half of the time, when he’s at his most vulnerable, you might have to kiss him first. He’ll feel distant, and maybe even a little cold. He needs you to keep him grounded, and once he relaxes, he kisses you like he’s afraid you’re a ghost that’ll vanish if he takes his hands off of you. There’s a softness about his movements that beg you to please, please not go away.

Draken’s kisses are steady, sure, and gentlemanly. He’s like having your feet on solid ground. He wants you to know you can trust him, and he won’t kiss you directly on the mouth without permission, and rarely (if ever) in front of others. Somehow you’ll end up with his face inches from yours, and through a half lidded gaze, he’ll establish eye contact with you, glance down at your lips and then back up, and in that low voice of his, he’ll hit you with the ol’ “……can I kiss you..?” He wants you to feel and know in the pit of your soul that you’ll always be safe with him.

Baji couldn’t kiss gently if he wanted to (which he doesn’t). He’s not one to hold back his emotions and the physical expressions thereof, so you’d best brace yourself for his face crashing into yours, because he will come at you out of nowhere and it will leave you breathless. He’s a biter too, likes to finish off a kiss by biting and tugging your bottom lip as he pulls away.

Chifuyu is the shaky nervous kisser. He’ll go into it thinking he’s confident in what he’s doing but the second your lips touch, he’s not so sure he’s got this as under control as he thought. Gets very caught up in the moment and can’t believe your lips are touching. He prefers not to be the one leading. He can initiate, but he’s much more comfortable if you guide him.

Kazutora kisses playfully. If anybody on this list is going to be the one to have silly makeouts with you, it’s Kazutora. He has fun with you, and he likes seeing you smile. If you’re in front of others, he’ll push his limits with you. He might seem all innocent standing behind you with his chin resting on your shoulder, but don’t be fooled — it all starts with a chomp on the shoulder or him blowing on that one spot by your ear that he knows is sensitive. He may or may not tickle you. Either way, it all leads to lots of quick pecks and lots of him trying to see just where he can land his hands on you. His favorite is resting his hands on your hips and seeing how close he can inch his fingers in the direction of squeezing your ass. He never actually does, he wouldn’t be that forward in front of an audience — he just wants to make you squirm. If you’re alone, it’ll turn into play wrestling, or the two of you will do dumb shit to try and make each other burst into giggle fits. Imo, he’s such a switch and this smooch battle is 100% to see who tops tonight.

Hakkai kisses stiffly at first. He doesn’t tremble at all, he’s just full-on deer in the headlights. You’ll have to surprise him to snap him out of it. Personally, I’d recommend blowing a raspberry against his lips. It’ll be a cute little giggle moment between the two of you. Once you find your rhythm together, his kisses are fluid, smooth, and sweet like honey. He’s warm and gentle like a tropical ocean.

Taiju kisses hungrily, like the untamable, insatiable beast he is. His kisses are overpowering, like he’s hellbent on devouring you. If you’re bold enough to pull him in closer, it’ll only encourage him further. He’s all-consuming like a forest fire, and you will be panting and sweating by the time he pulls away.

Koko’s kisses catch you off guard. He’s hard to predict, there’s no seeing it coming. Definitely likes to tease, and definitely uses tongue. Not, like, in an unsexy way, but more like you’ll be so lost in how he moves that when he kinda just bleps your lips and pulls away, he knows you’re gonna be thinking about how you want him to keep going. But by the same token, he’s also easy to surprise and never suspects it if you’re about to plant one on him. It’s just a constant game of “who’s gonna surprise smooch whom”. Also, I can 100% guarantee that he’s the one out of this list with the softest lips. You know he exfoliates, sleeps with Vaseline on his lips, the works.

Inupi has two modes; his kisses either feel cozy like home, or are strong and steady. The latter always steal your breath, no matter how prepared you think you are for ‘em. They’re deep, passionate, and reassuring. He’s the perfect blend of calm and intense.

Rayday's Swap AU ~ Alastor

Second design of today! I probably won't make/post more for a bit as I made most of my Angel Dust design- and this entire one pretty much in one sitting.

No staff - I thought that the staff microphone wouldn't fit a futuristic Alastor, so instead I gave him a headset with a microphone

Symbol on headset - While it might just look like an R, I actually took inspiration from the Bluetooth logo, taking 2 runes and combining them. In this case it was A and R. Why those letters? Cuz Alastor and radio/red.

Wiring/radio on his chest - I thought he needed more technology attached to him as Vox had his TV head to drive home the tech theme.

FM 96 - FM is a type of radio frequency ( the other being AM, and FM apparently being the better one. ) I chose the number 96 cuz it's a frequency it can pick up, and also cuz it's quite literally the opposite of 96 in terms of the sex position. ( Fits well with Alastor being asexual )

On that note: Ace swap Alastor? I decided to keep him as asexual, although specifically demisexual ( sex repulsed until sexual attraction for him is gained for a specific person. ) Why? Cuz I personally am a one-sided RadioStatic enjoyer. Will Alastor know he's ace in this AU? It's still a no. He just assumes it's the norm.

Why not make him TV based - TV is technically already going out of style. Now it's more about social medias, podcasts, and/or streaming services. Which is why I decided to just keep his radio themes, rather than switch to a TV themed one. A TV themed swap would be valid too imo, just not my personal take. Also, I got car repair ads on YT right after looking up car radio references on Google. We really live in a dystopia smh.

Hairstyle - It's sort of hard to see, but he has a ponytail now cuz I said so. After I decided on that I realized it also kinda helps with keeping his hair somewhat out of the wiring on the back of his neck, so that's neat.

Horn antennae - I simply thought it'd be a great way to take the antennae thing on Vox's hat and ad it into Alastor.

How futuristic is Alastor in terms of his tech? - I know his design gives sort of mixed signals, but part of it is also just so he looks cool. Coolness is sometimes a valid excuse.

Coat - The coat is sort of a mix between Alastor's and Vox's in terms of shape. It both has the V cut ( which realistically helps with movement/walking, ) but also maintains Alastor's coat-shape rather than giving him a penguin tail tuxedo like Vox sort of has.

Star buttons(?) on his coat sleeves - I just thought it'd be cute. Also cuz he's a media/radio star ofc.

No visible tail - I thought about it and ultimately decided against it. He still has one, don't get me wrong, but if Alastor has a personality similar to Vox, that'd mean he would want to ( try and ) keep his image in check. A cute lil' deer tail would probably make it hard(er) to be taken seriously.

Height - Vox and Alastor has the same height which is about 7 ft, but even then Alastor retains his height as all my swaps do.

Color scheme - Alastor's color scheme is more noticeably influenced by Vox's. I tried my best to swap the red and blue though, with some exceptions ( like the bowtie ) in order to make it more coherent in my opinion.

Thoughts about the design under the cut!

I've had a few reasons for deerlike association with Gale, and of course most of it is symbolic. Deer are hunted for food by many predators and men alike. Somehow it fits with how what is killing him is described as hungry and never sated and how he's expected to sacrifice his life not as a last, but as a first resort. Deer can symbolise someone who's been used or fooled. While it's a more complicated matter, he also has a certain problem with hubris, and he is a bit of a showoff, both things corresponding with how deer are viewed as proud animals. The crown of Karsus IMO also bears an uncanny resemblance to antlers.

Hazbin redesigns

I tried to make their designs more varied in colour and actually resemble what they're supposed to be.

I gave Charlie more goat features like the nose, hooves and horns (she also has goat ears but they get covered by her hair). I also tried to incorporate the fact that she's supposed to be a doll with her joints and face paint. Her outfit stayed pretty similar to how it is in canon because I don't mind her being red when the rest of the cast isn't and because it looks cute.

Vaggie also looks more like a moth now. She has lot's of scars because of her background (she isn't an ex-exterminator in my version but im still figuring some stuff out there). She wears casual clothes because she desperately needs a rest. I also gave her a more stocky build.

For Angel I focused on a very pink colour sceme (because I like pink). I didn't have lots of problems with his original design, mostly that he doesn't look like a spider too much. I made him fluffier and gave him different teeth (which look more spidery imo) also gave him a spiderbutt because I genuinely don't know why they didn't do that in the original show.

I made Alastor actually look like a deer because he doesn't look at all like one in his og design. Also no more red since red is typically associated with danger and I wanted him to look like he could manipulate demons into giving him their soul by being charismatic (still wanted to make him look creepy ofc). Blue and gold are typically associated with Angels in this show and I thought that'd be a nice change for his colours. The stitches in his face are were the black tentacle things come out of when he is in his demon form.

I don't have a lot to say about Nifty. She is a bug now, specifically a fly. She also isn't red anymore because flies are green and because it fit with her wanting to clean stuff (since green is often connected to dirt or garbage). I gave her cleaning gloves and tried to make her look more like she could be from the 50s with her dress and hair. She has golden accents to connect her with Alastor.

Husk's design is all over the place but his redesing is probably my favorite one. I gave him a bigger build because someone who pretty much only consumes alcohol all day wouldn't be that skinny. I also tried to make him look older and more rugged. His colours were really obnoxious so I toned them down as well as the owl aspects of his design. I gave him an actual outfit since the one he has in the show confuses me and looks a bit silly.

These are designs for my AU of Hazbin Hotel which im currently figuring out. There's a lot more I could say about some of these designs but I kept it shorter here.

I also finished my Pentious and Cherry Bomb redesings, which I'll probably post a little later. I also already have ideas for the Vee's but I havent fully drawn them yet. Feel free to give suggestions/ask questions about my redesings/rewrite.
