Doctor's Orders: Inevitable
Notes: Remember this? Well it's canon. You got cor lapis merged into your skin that kept you alive. You can also blame thank @starfell-traveler for inspiring this angst chapter idea! :) Pairing: Dottore x Reader Navigation: full chapter list CW: None
Summary: You were prone to dropping things, but Dottore knew this was a little excessive, even for you.
Tumblr media
CRASH!
Dottore sighed and looked over his shoulder. You stood wide-eyed with pursed lips and he could read the expressions flicking across your face a mile-a-minute. From wondering if you should own up to it or pretend it wasn’t your fault before ultimately deciding on the latter.
“It was him.” You said and pointed to Zeta who sputtered a profanity at your blatant lie. Especially since everyone was staring at you from their spots scattered around the room.
It wasn’t unusual for you to drop or break things. In fact, it was almost a norm that at least once a week you would break something if only because you liked to chase Zeta around. If his segment didn’t toss you into something then you likely pushed them into something else. It was so common now that Dottore couldn’t even find it in himself to be angry. He even had a special billing section for Pantalone filed under Zanni and the banker didn’t ask any further questions.
What was strange was that these more recent cases of you dropping stuff didn’t have anything to do with his segments or you getting into things. In fact, as Dottore watched your furrowed eyebrows as you flexed your hand, he had a feeling none of it was intentional.
His first concern was that maybe you were getting sick, but then as he turned back to the whiteboard that held all your information on it, he ruled it out. You were still taking the immune boosters he made regularly after you got sick last time. They appeared to be helping if the results of the scheduled blood tests were anything to go by.
It wasn’t for attention, and he knew that for a fact. If you wanted attention you would simply ask for it or demand it out of one of his segments. Alpha and Omega were prone to caving in more than any of the others to your whims.
“That is the third time in two days!” Zeta shouted. “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
You shrugged your shoulders and smiled.
“If it makes you angry then yes.”
Dottore furrowed his brows and removed his mask, watching you push Zeta away as he tried to hit you. You were relying more on your non-dominant hand.
“Zane.” He said and both you and Zeta stopped fighting.
Zeta clicked his tongue but returned to his work as you wandered over to Dottore with a smile on your face.
“Do you need something?” You asked, always willing to help.
You always had been willing to help him.
He frowned as his stomach slowly filled with dread.
“Here,” he handed you a marker and pointed to the whiteboard. “Write five lines on the board.”
You made a face.
“What? Is this punishment?”
“Now.” He ordered.
“Fine, fine,” you said and uncapped the lid. “Anything I want, right?”
“Yes.”
With his approval you set out to write on the board and the feeling of dread in Dottore’s chest only grew. He watched your hand twitch, every fifth letter your hand seemed to cramp and spasm. You stuck your tongue out in concentration but he could see through it that it was cramping enough to hurt. But by the time you pulled away and presented him with five random sentences, he knew what was going on.
“Give me your hand.” He ordered.
You made another face.
“What am I, a dog?”
A burst of irritation welled up in Dottore’s chest and he stood up while slamming his hands down onto the desk.
“Give me. Your hand. Now!” He shouted.
The entire room, yourself included, looked at him stunned before all eyes were on you.
You stepped forward and gave him your hand and he pulled off his gloves and prodded at your hand, fingers ghosting over before pushing down and his suspicions were confirmed.
“Eleazar.” He said and looked up at you, noticing the way your expression didn’t change. “How long have you known?”
You looked away from him, the seriousness of the situation sat on your shoulders and you resisted the urge to pull your hand away from him. Alpha’s face was a mixture between disbelief and horror. You liked how easy he was to read.
When you did try to pull your hand away, Dottore yanked it back, his hand wrapping around your wrist.
“How long have you known?” He practically seethed.
How could you keep something like this from him? Why would you dare to? His treatment was effective! It was a little painful, but he was able to remove the eleazar! He could keep it from getting worse!
Your eyes slowly bled gold and you yanked your hand away from his.
“I know what you’re thinking, Dottore. That you can treat this. But you’re forgetting something, aren’t you?” You said and placed a hand against your side.
Dottore stared at your hand before it hit him like a hammer. The cor lapis on your side that had merged with your skin—the high concentrations of elemental energy it likely possessed and passed onto you probably caused the eleazar to form. The same cor lapis that he could not remove without detrimental side effects that would cost you your life. So long as that remained a part of you, your elemental levels would always be elevated—
“You get it now, right?” You said and rubbed your wrist, looking away. “I’m going to lie down now, I’m tired.”
Dottore slumped back into his seat and stared at the whiteboard with all your information.
He couldn’t bring himself to watch you go.

f1 drivers + sororities .ೃ࿐
Tumblr media
a lovely anon asked me what sororities f1 drivers would be sorted into so here we go. i would like to say as a disclaimer is that greek life varies from campus to campus, so do take my opinions with a grain of salt. also, i was vp of recruitment last year so i know a thing or two about matching girls with chapters hehe.
i am gonna do class of 2023, with a bonus of our two fav reserve drivers so here we go! also, i'm including sororities that aren't on my campus and doing very limited research on them.
Tumblr media
max v. - delta zeta
i dont have much knowledge on dz (seeing as they were kicked off my campus before i rushed), BUT they were the it girls on my campus. they we're top house, everyone either loved or hated them or wanted to be them.
checo p. - gamma phi beta
gphi on my campus is so hit or miss (as are most organizations, but the chapter on my campus is more out right about it). they're either really nice or they really mean. i think checo has that charm about him LOL
charles l. - alpha chi omega
i don't have achi o on my campus, but of every video i've seen about them, they are more often than not the pretty, philanthropic, top house kind of gals. charles would fit right in. (also the cherry on top is that red is one of their colors).
carlos s. - kappa kappa gamma
i know nothing about kkg, but their mission statement says "...respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of and an allegiance to positive ethical principles" which i feel like is very carlos. carlos is always trying to learn more and get a better understanding.
lewis h. - alpha phi alpha / not rush
lewis would NOT join a phc organization. he would join one of the divine nine for sure, just in solidarity with culture and history. but i will say that the rush/pledging process of the divine can be fucking brutal so there's a chance he'd drop. or better yet, he wouldn't rush at all because he's better than that.
george r. - zeta tau alpha
george would 100% be a zeta. zeta is also a very top house sorority, but when you're zeta you are a die hard zeta. i feel like every sister of zta i've met lives and breathes zta. very george.
esteban o. - delta delta delta
they describe their org to be "an assembly of women with shared values where you can be yourself and belong to something bigger. we are brave, bold and kind." thats so esteban, and considering the work he's put into alpine + the time he's spent in the team. very este bestie of him.
pierre g. - pi beta phi
i was gonna make him a zta, but when i was reading other sorority values i came across this chapter. under reputation it said "many consider them obsessed with their looks" and that just feels like pierre.
lando n. - sigma kappa
sk on my campus is on the come up. they recruit a bunch of cute, sweet little girls who are very active on campus. they're everywhere. like lando. he's every where.
oscar p. - gamma phi beta
i know what i said under checo but pretend you didnt read it for this. oscar is also gphi to me because theyre new member class is so bold and just wants to be involved in everything. giving oscar energy i think.
valterri b. - alpha gamma delta
agds on my campus arent top house by any means, and they have girls who you would've thought would end up in top house but they chose agd. thats valterri to me.
zhou g. - alpha xi delta
these girls on my campus are super underrated. known to have the most genuine sisterhood on campus. they aren't super active on campus, and aren't super well known. but the people the know them, love them.
lance s. - kappa kappa gamma
aligning with carlos. i think lance does try his best at what he does, and improve. he definitely aims to be bigger than daddy's boy. you know?
fernando a. - pi beta phi
please he is just pretty. thats all fernando would bring to the table. he's a pretty boy and should be in a pretty sorority.
kevin m. - alpha gamma delta
i love agds so much. they're a bunch of goofy girls who are loved by a lot of people. theyre on the smaller side on my campus, but are just full of girls you would generally like.
nico h. - alpha gamma delta
this also makes sense to me because he just- he loves f1 and he'll never leave. i've met my fair share of 25+ greek women in their chapter and they just...... never leave. but he's dedicated. and that counts for something...... right?
yuki t. - alpha phi gamma
an asian sorority. i love these girls. theyre so goofy, but really sweet and also die hard for their chapter. yuki would thrive.
nyck d.v. - alpha delta pi
i love my adpis. so much. they're the sweetest girls ever. on my campus theyre super strong in academics and support so many diff organizations on campus. nyck is one hundred percent an adpi.
alex a. - alpha phi
part of their mission statement is "high expectations for character and a drive for innovation" which i feel is alex coded. i can't say what exactly, but alex just screams that.
logan s. - zeta tau alpha
he just has the look that would land him into zeta. what he brings to the table, we'll just have to wait and see.
bonus !
daniel r. - alpha delta pi
he gives me vibes of one of my friends in adpi. just always so happy and dedicated to their chapter. also daniel gives off the vibe of adpis on my campus. and he'd 100% be a sweetheart of a fraternity.
mick s. - delta gamma
their values read "foster high ideals of friendship among women, to promote their educational and cultural interests, to create in them a true sense of social responsibility, and to develop in them the best qualities of character." i just think thats mick. always fostering growth and developing his charachter.
Tumblr media
another addition to d's shitpost studies. submit an ask if there are other topics you would like me to do!

SDAU-The Right Stuff, chapter 8
Word Count: 541
Tumblr media
Dear Lance,
I’m not the mate you deserve…plain and simple, I’m not.  I’m a single mother.  I’m the shame of my family.  And I have no real distinguishable designation.
I enjoyed the other night so much more than you can imagine.
The way that you made me feel…the way that you held me after you made love to me…I didn’t think that I would ever be able to have something like that.
To have a love like that.
To have a mate.
But I’m not an alpha.  And that’s what you need.
An alpha.
I’m nothing.
But I want to be something…someone that you can be proud of.  Someone that deserves your love.  Sarah is watching Jeremy until I can be that lioness for you.  I hope that I see you soon.
Until then…I love you, mate.
Selena
Lance had refused to come out of his room since then.  It had been over a month, and he hadn’t heard anything from her.
Steve had graduated, leaving him without any idea of what was going on with Selena.
Not that he knew.
Bucky and Mini had been very up front with him that Selena only told Sarah what she had planned on doing, and it left Steve a nervous wreck right before finals.
But now, heading into his own senior year, he was beyond lost.
Mike Weiss had been named VP of the frat, with Jake Jensen taking over for Steve as the president.  And the juniors Peter Parker had been made secretary and Ned had become the treasurer.
“TUCKER!”
“Go away!” Lance sighed, hoping that his best friend, and dragon shifting vp would leave him alone.
“Got a visitor, Lance…”
“I don’t care!”
“Oh, trust me, brother, I think you’ll want to see her.”
“Lance…”
Lance’s heart nearly skipped a beat.  His name was falling from her lips.
And suddenly he realized that just over the threshold of the door was a new, unfamiliar, yet inviting scent.  One that made his heart skip another beat.
He rushed the door, and in an instant his eyes lit up.
He was nearly pushed back by the overwhelming new air.  His eyes fluttered shut and he inhaled deeply.  His wolf rumbled, and she began to purr.
His eyes snapped back open as he realized that she had a scent, “how?”
“Pepper and Arianna were working on a specific genetics project for zetas…it’s better than those discount pills.  I-it’s a real cure…”
“Wh-what?”
“They altered my genetics and brought forth my dormant DNA…i-I’m an alpha, Lance…”
He felt like he could barely breathe as he lifted her and pressed their lips together.  Sparks were running rampant between the pair, and Lance could feel a breakthrough heat taking over.
“I missed you so much!” the wolf rumbled, kissing every inch of her face that he could.  He began nuzzling against her cheeks, trying to collect her scent and mark himself while also scent marking her, “god, I missed you so much Selena.”
“I missed you too, mate!” she purred.  Lance growled as he began to smell the slick that was collecting at her entrance, beneath her clothes, “I need you, omega.”
“Need you!” he repeated, carrying her back into his bedroom and kicking the door shut.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), colloquially known as the “Divine Nine” (D9), is a collaborative umbrella council composed of historically African American fraternities and sororities. The NPHC was formed as a permanent organization on May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University with Matthew W. Bullock as the active Chairman and B. Beatrix Scott as Vice-Chairman. NPHC was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois and is headquartered in Decatur, Georgia.
The council promotes interaction through forums, meetings, and other media for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.
Each constituent member organization determines its strategic direction and program agenda. The primary purpose and focus of member organizations remain camaraderie and academic excellence for its members and service to the communities they serve. Each promotes community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities.
The NPHC was established in an era when Greek-letter organizations founded by African Americans were banned from being affiliated with Greek-letter organizations founded by whites.
The organization’s stated purpose and mission in 1930:
Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.
The founding members of the NPHC were Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, and Zeta Phi Beta. The council’s membership expanded as Alpha Phi Alpha (1931), Phi Beta Sigma (1931), Sigma Gamma Rho (1937), and Iota Phi Theta (1996) joined this coalition. As required by various campus recognition policies, neither the NPHC nor its member national or chapter organizations discriminate based on race or religion. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #alphaphialpha #alphakappaalpha #kappaalphapsi #omegapsiphi #deltasigmatheta #phibetasigma #zetaphibeta #sigmagammarho #iotaphitheta

I AM a KNIGHT.

Paving the Way
Before speaking about Omega Delta Phi, one must speak highly about those that paved the way for Omega Delta Phi to become a multi-Greek fraternity in the first place -- the divine nine. The divine nine is a group of predominantly and historically black fraternities that include: Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta. These organizations were founded between 1906 and 1963, at a time when racial segregation and discrimination were pervasive in the United States. These communities first formed as a way to create a sense of community in a place were they were they sometimes were not seen. "Black students, whether studying at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) or predominantly white institutions, came together to create these organizations, forging familial ties to one another and outreach within the larger Black community. Those kinships and ties endure to this day. BGLOs formed at a time when Greek life at predominantly white institutions excluded Black students (NMAAHC)." Although these sororities and fraternities were build for their sense of community and belonging, they still served the community in a various of ways and were always held at a great academic standard. It take a great deal of requirement to from part of any type of Greek life. The establishment of the Divine Nine paved the way for the rest of multi Greek life in several ways:
youtube
Establishment of a Supportive Network: The founding of the Divine Nine provided a supportive network for Black college students who faced discrimination on predominantly white campuses. These organizations offered a sense of belonging, brotherhood/sisterhood, and solidarity among their members.
Promotion of Leadership and Scholarship: The Divine Nine emphasized leadership development, academic excellence, and community service among its members. By promoting these values, the organizations contributed to the personal and professional growth of Black college students and helped prepare them for success in their academic and professional endeavors.
Advocacy for Civil Rights: Many members of the Divine Nine were actively involved in the civil rights movement, advocating for racial equality and social justice.
Expansion of Multi Greek Life: The success and influence of the Divine Nine inspired the establishment of other multi Greek organizations, both within and outside the Black community. These organizations were often founded on similar principles of brotherhood/sisterhood, service, and leadership, and they sought to provide a supportive community for their members.
Diversity and Inclusion: The Divine Nine demonstrated the importance of diversity and inclusion within the Greek community. By welcoming members from diverse backgrounds and experiences, these organizations enriched the overall Greek experience and helped foster a more inclusive environment on college campuses.
Overall, the Divine Nine's legacy extends beyond its individual member organizations, influencing a landscape of multi Greek life and contributing to the development of a more diverse, inclusive, and socially conscious Greek community. Over time, multi Greek fraternities became a prominent feature of college life in the United States, with thousands of chapters established on campuses across the country. Today, these organizations continue to play a significant role in the lives of many college students, providing them with opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and community service.
The History of Omega Delta Phi
Omega Delta Phi is a multicultural fraternity that was founded on November 25, 1987, at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The organization was established by seven men: Silas Garcia, Francisco Lugo, Juan Garcia, William Macias, Jesus Apodaca, Rodolfo Quinones, and Gabriel Rodriguez. These founders wanted to create a fraternity that celebrated diversity and provided a supportive environment for Latino students on campus.
The founding of Omega Delta Phi was a response to no representation and support for Latino students within the existing Greek system at Texas Tech University. The founders wanted a fraternity that would promote leadership, academic excellence, cultural awareness, and community service among its members while also fostering a strong sense of brotherhood. Their mission stands true today nationwide: "Since its beginning in 1987, Omega Delta Phi has been an organization perpetually dedicated to the idea of constant growth and improvement. As such, we face the new challenges of tomorrow with a growing sense of optimism and newfound awareness that “good” will not be good enough. We must work to form an organization which not only challenges the traditional perception of fraternities, but also one with deals with the issues of culture and race for a completely new perspective (Omega Delta Phi)."
From the beginning, Omega Delta Phi focused on recruiting members from diverse backgrounds, including Latino, Asian, African American, and Caucasian students. The fraternity adopted the saying "One Culture, Any Race" to reflect its commitment to multiculturalism and inclusivity.
Since its founding, Omega Delta Phi has rapidly grown and established chapters at colleges and universities across the United States. Omega Delta Phi has a national board of directors and operates under the principles of leadership, integrity, unity, and multiculturalism. The fraternity sponsors various programs and initiatives aimed at promoting academic success, leadership development, and community service among its members. A national conference is held every year where many Universities nationwide join:
Tumblr media
Over the years, Omega Delta Phi has continued to uphold its commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and social responsibility. The fraternity remains dedicated to supporting its members and making a positive impact on college campuses and in the community.
Omega Delta Phi at A&M
Omega Delta Phi has a notable history at Texas A&M University. The fraternity first arrived at Texas A&M University in the early 1990s, when a group of students wanted to bring Omega Delta Phi to the campus. These students were inspired by the fraternity's mission of promoting multiculturalism, leadership, and brotherhood from the Texas Tech Campus. After a period of organization and recruitment, Omega Delta Phi officially established its chapter at Texas A&M University.
Since its establishment at TAMU, Omega Delta Phi has been involved in various campus activities, including community service projects, leadership development programs, and cultural events. The fraternity has worked to promote diversity and inclusion on campus while also providing support and resources to its members. TAMU has a multicultural Greek council that its purpose is held by all the members of Omega Delta Phi: "The purpose of the Multicultural Greek Council at Texas A&M University shall be: to create and maintain high standards in the life of fraternities and sororities by addressing, coordinating and developing strategic action plans; to unify organizations, promote higher education, provide community services, enhance leadership; and serve as a liaison between the Multicultural Greek Council, the university student body and administration thereby improving the campus climate (MGC TAMU)." A picture of the MGC council can be seen below:
Tumblr media
Therefore, Omega Delta Phi has played an active role in the Greek community at Texas A&M University, participating in Greek Week, philanthropic events, and other interfraternity activities. The fraternity has also collaborated with other student organizations and campus departments to organize events and initiatives aimed at promoting unity and understanding among different cultural groups.
Throughout its history at Texas A&M University, Omega Delta Phi has remained committed to its core values of leadership, integrity, unity, and multiculturalism. The fraternity continues to thrive on campus, providing a supportive and inclusive community for its members while also making positive contributions to the broader TAMU community.
Fraternity and Community
Although Fraternities are about the brotherhood and community one builds, it all comes down to our philanthropy. One of the significant causes that my fraternity supports is the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to wounded veterans and their families: "Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began in 2003 as a small, grassroots effort providing simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As their post-service needs evolved, so have our programs and services. Today, through our direct programs in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care, along with our advocacy efforts, we improve the lives of millions of warriors and their families (WWP)." The Wounded Warrior Project aims to honor and empower wounded veterans by providing a range of programs and services focused on mental and physical health, economic empowerment, and community engagement. These programs include mental health counseling, physical rehabilitation, job training and placement, and peer support groups. Through fundraising events, volunteer activities, and awareness campaigns, the fraternity raises funds and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project's mission. By supporting the Wounded Warrior Project, Omega Delta Phi fraternity embodies its core values of leadership, integrity, and service. The fraternity's dedication to philanthropy reflects its belief in the importance of giving back to those in need and making a meaningful impact on society. Through our efforts, Omega Delta Phi members honor the sacrifices of wounded veterans and help to ensure that they receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
My Reason Why
As a first generation student , we are left to face and figure out how the rest of our years in college will be. The reason why I chose this topic is because I, myself, was once a young individual who roamed through campus day by day trying to get through college because I felt like I did not belong here. Joining the fraternity showed me that I do belong and that I was in fact wrong. It gave me a sense of self and community joining and becoming part of a multi-Greek cultural fraternity. It has since became a huge part of my role and impacted my career in so many ways. Omega Delta Phi gave the resources needed to be successful in college. I have been given the opportunities to apply to various scholarships geared towards those in fraternities, nation wide connections for internships and job opportunities, volunteer hours and a sense of help in the community. I have enjoyed my time as a brother of the Omega Delta Phi Fraternity. However, my time does not end here. After graduation, I will continue to be a brother and be a service to those thar are in school like many were to me. The friendships I have build are life long and I will enjoy seeing my brother that I once volunteer with, have his own career is rewarding. I know that no matter where I go or where I'll be, I always have a place to call home. The alumni games, will be a way for us to re-connect and speak about the times we once had as being part of such an amazing organization. I want this to be like sort of a way for me to get those people who are new and want to become part of a wonderful brotherhood to socialize and see how you build a a whole new community.
Why Omega Delta Phi?
As stated in my previous blog, before coming to college, I was able to successfully obtain and become a barber. Therefore, I used the skill as a way to not only earn income but also establish new relationships with new people and make new connections and so I did. My cousin was the first to join the fraternity, and after that, he started to bring me around the fraternity more, especially when they found out I was a barber. I started to cut many of the brother's hair, to the point were they saw me as an "honorary" brother. They tried many times to get me to join, but I wasn't ready at first. Until I became a junior, I took the chance and did it. At this point, I had made many strong relationships with many of the brothers, and I was certain I wanted to officially become part of this brotherhood. So I did, I crossed Fall of 2022, and my class was Beta Pi. After that, really it was just history. I grew alongside many of my brothers and created many memories with them.

SDAU-The Right Stuff, Chapter 6
Word Count: 796

“No, you need to back off.  That’s my little sister.”
“Steve.”
“Omega,” Bucky warned, his hand riding low on the small of Steve’s back.  The lion shivered but didn’t drop his argument.  Instead, he continued to stare Lance down, the two omegas getting protective over their sides in the conversation, “Steve…”
His cerulean eyes shot to his alpha and theta, and Lance looked to Mini, “help me out here, Min.”
The theta sighed before looking at Steve, “Steve…have you talked to your sister about him?  You know, she is an adult, so it is hers and Lance’s choice, should she be interested in him.”
“I don’t need to,” he growled, glaring back at Lance, “I saw the way he was sniffing around all night at dinner.  Stay away from her, Tucker.  She’s not interested in you.”
“Steve…”
“Theta…my little sister doesn’t date.  She-“
“I just-I want to see if we are mates!” Lance said quickly, unwavering in the quickness of his response, “when we touched, I felt sparks running up my arm, but I couldn’t smell her.  I think it-“
“It’s because she’s a zeta!” Steve began, cutting him off with his own blunt reply, “she doesn’t have a scent because she’s a zeta, you asshole!”
Lance felt his heart plummet to the pit of his stomach, “what?”
“Selena is a zeta!” Bucky repeated, “you won’t be able to smell any specific scent coming off of her, Lance.  Just like she won’t come sniffing around you, or have ruts, or any of it.  Selena is Zeta.  And she doesn’t need some omega or any other designation to come sniffing around, giving her some hope that she has a mate!  She’s not like us!”
“Well she-“
“She doesn’t need to date!” Steve said firmly, turning on his heel towards the back door once more, “she is perfectly fine not dating anyone!  Now hurry up and grab the rest of the stuff for the s’mores before anyone gets suspicious.  I’m not going to let you ruin tonight, Tucker.”
And with that Steve made his way back outside to the party that had shifted from in the house to a fire in the back yard.
“I’m sorry about Steve, Lance…”
“He gets really protective over Selena…”
“Why?” he asked, upset over the fact that Steve wouldn’t at least talk to him about her, “what’s there to be mad about?”
“Selena…she’s been used a lot,” Bucky admitted slowly, “being a zeta is tough, especially when you come from an all-lion pride.  Steve and Sarah are both omegas, but for Selena to be born a zeta…it’s a pretty shameful thing for a very prideful animal.  Their dad turned to drinking, and their mom works overtime in the hospital.  It’s like if she’s a saint everyone will forget about the fact that she couldn’t give Joe Rogers an alpha child.  And Selena…well she’s had plenty of suitors sniff around and give a lot of empty promises.”
Lance felt his heart beginning to ache for the family.  He looked through the sliding door and Mini put a hand on his arm, “hey…it’s okay, omega…”
“I just-I can feel it in my bones,” Lance sighed, not wanting to let go of the conversation, “nothing has ever felt so right in all my life when I look at her…she’s my mate, guys.”
“Then you should know that she’s already got a son…”
“What?”
“She went to a party when she was a sophomore…they took advantage of her…”
Lance felt like his heart was going to stop, “Wh-what?”
“They drugged her,” Bucky admitted angrily, “four seniors made a tape of it, and she nearly dropped out of the pride’s school.  But it helped her in her trial.  Three years of therapy and no real want to be in college, she’s working as a gymnastics coach for little kids…you ever see a little blonde alpha toddling after her, it’s probably Jeremy.”
“She-she didn’t bring him tonight?”
“She’s very particular about who knows about him…” Bucky frowned, “but if she’s really your mate, you should know that she needs the comfort of a good omega…someone that can make her feel safe.  She’s a good kid…”
“I-I want to be that.”
Bucky sighed once more and he grabbed the stuff for the s’mores, “we’ll keep Steve occupied…Mini was sitting with Sarah and Selena beforehand…”
“Steve will be pissed!” Lance admitted.
“Let us deal with Steve!” Mini said with a soft smile.  She looped her arm through Bucky’s and kissed him on the cheek, “you’re such a good man, James…”
“Thank you…” Lance said softly as he watched them leave the kitchen.  He grabbed himself another beer and with a deep breath he told himself that everything was going to be fine.  And he pushed himself outside towards the party.
