I was think that if there was a Steven stand in for the Gemcyt au it would be someone that has ties to both hermit craft and empires
The candidates are Scott false gem and pix
but I guess since the au is mainly life smp it would be some that was in all three
If we’re only looking at people that are in all three smps then Scott or gem would be the best options because they are in all
but I think pix being the most diplomatic is the best choice if you’re looking for the most fitting personality out of the four
But it doesn’t have to be someone that is in all three @scrimblescromble made a post suggesting Hermes as the Steven figure and I think that is a good idea or at least having Hermes in the au is a good idea
In my past post I wrote that sausage took some time to grow attached to the earth and I think that when sausage was with the crystal gems leading up to him contacting the diamonds he befriended a human kid that along with bubbles was the main reason for him finally decided to defect
After he defected sausage moved back into the cave with gem and fwhip (the cave is were the reformed homeworld gems live like how lapis and peridot live on the farm)
He would visit Hermes still and Hermes was unofficially adopted by crystal gems specifically sausage and joel and Lizzie
Pix was a wreck making sure the three gems knew how to properly keep a human child alive also he was the one that ended up home schooling Hermes and teaching morals and being responsible
pix is the Greg of the au but he is more involved in gem problems and in Hermes education
In beginning jimmy was really jealous of Hermes because he’s used to being the youngest
Like amethyst after Steven came along
He acted like a jealous only child that got a new baby sibling only here he is a brother to the parents and not Hermes so an he’s an uncle figure
so his situation is similar to yuri from spy x family only without the incesty vibes and he has nothing against the husband
Lizzie was his diamond and big sister figure for the longest Time and still is but now that things are changing he has a hard time adjusting
But just like amethyst he learns

ah yeah. these losers.
see, a lot of my thoughts surrounding these two would kind of spoil my own AU that i never make stuff for so im usually somewhat hesitant to talk about them but basically., (toxic!fh mention)
post-evo divorced property police is so real. ive always imagined it as a childhood friends situation, with martyn being a bit older than jimmy.
they probably caught feelings for eachother fairly late and already well into teenhood but neither of them were really sure what it was (this is maybe going a little bit into sexuality hc territory but ive always imagined jimmy as whatever the male equivalent of a useless lesbian is and martyns biphobic towards himself lmao).
i touched on this briefly in that one fic i wrote but i've always headcanoned martyn as being somewhat parentified and thus ties his worthiness to be loved into his ability to perform acts of service for someone rather than just.. existing and letting himself be loved.
so as jimmy became more independent, martyn becomes a bit more insecure about their friendship. this becomes a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy as he distances himself from jimmy, feeling like jimmy wouldn't love him if he didn't Need him, and jimmy in return feels confused and hurt as he helplessly watches someone he knew all his life drift away.
that + jimmy has this not-so-subtle crush on scott that martyn's always suspected. he's a jealous bitch.

we had a clown to clown communication moment i think cus I also love the idea of them splitting up and meeting in Third Life years and years later (altho i like to imagine it as more of a voluntary separation).
some stuff copy+pasted from that cursed shipping doc i mentioned awhile back: ((scott + jimmy became a thing while martyn was gone pre-3L))
Now reuniting in 3L as fully grown adults after years apart, all those suppressed emotions come bubbling back up to the surface. An adult Martyn is much less unsure about what he's feeling and Jimmy still has those fantasies of what could have been playing on loop in his head.
Of course, Jimmy is still attached to Scott and can't abandon his Bethrothed. He loves and knows what's best for him, he would sooner die than forsake his loyalty. But it does hurt when he hits him.
Martyn still cares for Jimmy deeply, whether he wants to or not. He takes the time to keep an eye out for him, even though they had no real reason to interact anymore. He becomes one of the only people to realise what Scott was like with him, how devoid of love it all was. He throws out a line, offers to help him run away. Jimmy refuses. Betrayal. A second time. For the same man.
Who cares about Jimmy anyway? (he always did take me for granted)
(a little note here before anyone sets me on fire - time works a bit differently in my writing and the players don't have exact ages but jimmy and martyn's age gap is probably not as dramatic as their cc counterparts)
(it's still there but neither of them even recognise their feelings as remotely romantic until they reunite as adults, as kids it's all just them being silly and having grade school drama with each other)
So uh yeah lots of mutual pining and suppressed feelings and puppy love turned angst👍 tis all i shall say cus i wanna make art of the rest lol

SAW FRANCHISE!!!!!!!! the first three movies specifically though <3 JAWDROP FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE GO WATCH CRAZY EX GIRLFRIEND. AKJDFNKGDF THAT DAMN ASS SHOW!!!!!!!

so his situation is similar to yuri from spy x family only without the incest

Three ships: 1. Griddlehark. The most girls ever. Proof that in fiction, sufficiently advanced hate is indistinguishable from love. Someone who's used people before and never wants to use someone again x someone who's been used so long she can only envision herself being loved as a tool. Your honor they have mutilated me grievously. I rest my case. 2. All the other actual and potential Locked Tomb ships, as one collective mass. The sheer variety of ways in which simultaneously competent and fucked up girlfailures can bounce off each other in interesting ways is unparalleled. 3. Assorted blorbos from my webcomics. Which blorbos I'm talking about will change depending on when you ask, but right now it is Joe and Joyce from Dumbing of Age. The way Joyce is breaking out of her religious indoctrination and sexual repression hits pretty close to home for me, and I am rooting for her to finally have a good fucking experience. Joe makes an excellent foil.
First ever ship: Based on the first action figure I can remember wanting as a kid, probably a Sienar Fleet Systems TIE/LN fighter. (Serious answer: Star Wars was one of my first media obsessions and was definitely my first proper fandom, but I can't think of an element I cared about less than shipping. And then I wasn't involved in fandoms at all during my early adulthood, so I honestly think the first ship I've ever really engaged with beyond reading/watching/playing the source material is Griddlehark.)
Last song: (Splash) Turn Twist by Jimmy Eat World. It's a bonus track from Bleed American (same album that gave us The Middle) which I somehow never paid any attention to until it got itself stuck in my head a week or two ago and has not left since.
Last film: I couldn't say for certain. The last film I saw in a theater was The Last Jedi. My partner showed me Mean Girls sometime in 2022... I think that might be it?
Currently watching: Whatever my partner is watching while I'm in the room (Markiplier at the moment), and nothing else. That's a boring answer, so here's a bonus answer to a different question. The most recent game I played is Victoria 3, a massive 19th century economy and politics simulator. It is a horrible waste of my time and I swore off it months ago in favor of wasting horrible amounts of time on other games, but they released a major patch last month so I spent a weekend industrializing Korea but utterly failing to turn it into a worker's paradise.
Currently reading: Time To Orbit: Unknown, a serial novel by @/derinthescarletpescaterian about a completely normal spaceship where nothing ever goes wrong and all of the characters are having a very good time. (There are 124 chapters so far and at least five distinct genders.) (When I say "the worldbuilding is immaculate" please understand that this is like going down a wikipedia rabbit hole except also there is a story.) (Who needs sleep when you could instead have Story?) (In this world I probably would have wanted to become a Public Universal Friend before I got on the right medications and deleted twitter.) (Please read this story I need someone to share my brain worms.) (It is completely normal and you can stop reading any time you want you are just choosing to consume another chapter right now of your own free will.)
