why hbomb94 should be the next new hermit: no listen this isn't just me being ridiculous listen listen--
okay but like. after today i am ON THIS TRAIN. i am FULLY CONVINCED that hbomb94 would be one of the BEST POSSIBLE CANDIDATES for "new hermit for hermitcraft". and please, just listen to my case for this:
so, after today, i'm fully convinced hbomb is a perfect vibes match for many hermits. he gets along well! he's actually pretty good at staying at hermitcraft levels of pg in videos (like, not swearing--he makes like, the catmaid jokes, but that's nothing worse than whatever ren gets up to on a given day). he's also relatively chill, already friends with a lot of the hermits, and connects well with them on a content creation level. like, he's excited for them, he slots into the bits well, the bits he brings to the table are picked up easily by the other hermits.
and the thing is... okay i KNOW hbomb isn't a huge base builder. i watched vault hunters smp too. but the thing is... he doesn't have to be! you see, there's a certain hermit niche they haven't invited a new hermit into in a while, and that's the niche that someone like joe hills or zedaph (or i'd argue etho or cubfan) occupies. it's the 'weird' niche. i don't think hbomb would be a builder hermit. i don't think he'd be a redstoner either. what he'd be good at is things like... hermits helping hermits! building minigames! have you seen hbomb actually, half of what he did on dsmp or on his main youtube is building minigames and escape rooms. he'd have good vibes! he'd show up to all the events! he'd probably RUN some events!
what he'd be is a new chill, friendly niche hermit, and i think we need more of those? more of the hermits who WON'T be building megabases, but WILL be building games, helping collect resources, and inventing new strange things to do. yes, sure, once again: i know hbomb isn't a builder, and next to someone like joel, that probably puts him out of contention, but... the last two hermits they invited were builders. they need a hype guy. an event guy. another team player. the escape rooms would be ENRICHMENT. it would be wonderful.
plus, i don't think he'd ever stop being a delightful audience insert about the other hermit projects. plus plus, i think he and scar and cub would definitely do a catmaid bit we'd all regret. plus plus plus i think he could do his rant about how weird beetroot is and the hermits would appreciate him for it.
as such i actually think hbomb slots in BEST of the visitors from today as a new hermit. (this is also in part because the empires crew tends to prefer much shorter seasons on their servers than hermitcraft has if they don't want to get bored and the hermits have pretty definitively decided they don't like short seasons. it's also a vibe check. skizz for hermitcraft fans, i am shaking your hand and saluting you, my guy who can't build and your guy who can't build should be hermits who join for similar reasons, we are friends.)
anyway will this actually happen? probably not. but like. listen. for the first time since hbomb hermit adoption arc started this feels VIABLE and i feel the need to make my case for why i want him on because the moment the season rolls over and we start speculating about new hermits this is the guy who has my vote please do you understand now please he'd be so fun--

i think we married in vegas - teaser
✷ You and Jeonghan have always been friends, and friends go on a trip together, right? And somehow friends always end up marrying in Las Vegas right? And somehow friends become roommates as well right? That all seems very normal when Yoon Jeonghan has a weird addiction to doing the dumbest things ever just for shock value.

✷ Thea note: hi y'all, as you guys may know I'm doing nanowimo, and somehow, I got addicted to this story and I'm making it bigger day by day. I still have a very big chunk to go (around 6/7 scenes but it can be more who knows not me since I don't plan when I am writting!). Anyhow I am pretty sure it gonna take a while till the whole thing sees the light of day but I wanted to share a tiny bit with you because I am actually super hyped about and I suck at keeping secrets <3 Hope you guys like it, and get as excited as me (or at least half, actually I can take a third!! or even an ounce!!). I do not do the whole tag list thing but if anyone wants to get tagged just let me know somehow <3
You turn your hand and it finally hits you.
It is a ring.
With a big rock.
In your ring finger.
A big damn rock on your ring finger.
“Yoon Jeonghan” you scream in horror.
On the other side of that door, Jeonghan just hears you scream. He picks himself up in record time and room towards the bathroom, oh shit did you just fall and hit your head? Did you break the glass of the fancy hotel shower? Are you dying? So without thinking much Jeonghan opens the bathroom door and he just finds you - completely naked and seemly okay, just staring at your own hand.
“What happened?” He asks trying to catch his breath, maybe he does need to start working out man, he didn’t feel this horrible when he was hitting the gym after shifts, but also he didn’t feel that great either the whole gym rat thing was not his ordeal.
“What did we do?” You ask still in complete horror, not even thinking about how this is the first time Yoon Jeonghan, your friend is seeing you completely naked. 10/10 would not recommend this experience. Not even to Laurel, your own Satan-spit roommate.
“What? Are you going crazy? I thought you fell and opened your skull or something,”
You just look at Jeonghan, dead in his eyes, like the reality is worse than falling in the bathroom, opening your skull, and calling the paramedics naked. You just turn your hand to him - like it is enough to make him understand what a dire situation it is. And you swear to god you can almost see the little flakes of light on the bathroom floor, the rock is big enough to shine across the room.
“Did you call me to show me your ring? Couldn’t you wait until you put your clothes on?” Jeonghan asks leaning into the doorway.
“Jeonghan did we-” you say but you feel your own throat closing around itself, it can’t be, right?
“Hm?” he asks without a blink of an eye.
“Oh we did, we totally did”
“No, you are not that crazy,” he claimed. What that was supposed to mean? He was crazy enough for it but you the two goody shoes wasn’t?
“Jeonghan check your bank receipt,” you demanded, trying to connect the dots in a way, trying to have proof, maybe you just bought a way too expensive ring for yourself, or maybe it was just impulse buying.
Before you can move Jeonghan almost runs towards the room, you try your best to keep up with him but you are a little behind because, for the first time, you actually are aware of how naked you are. You pick up the fluffy bathroom robe - yeah the fancy hotel had its perks.“Oh fuck” you can hear Jeonghan before you can see him, his phone it’s on his lap, his head is on his head - he is a man defeated. Oh no. You guys actually did it.

bestie how the fuck do you start writing again when you haven't written in years bc you're so paralyzed with Fear of Writing Badly mixed with How Do I Get Started and also WHAT do I write about HELP
I WANT to write but every part of it is. so. DAUNTING
Ohhh bestie I have BEEN there. Whenever I take breaks from writing I find myself scared that I'll have just….forgotten to write?? I think the fear of "bad writing" is amplified when you don't write for a while, however long, because you have to like hype yourself up to go back to writing and it's like what if I do all that and then I just can't do it? Returning to writing, especially after a long time, for me has taken a lot of mental work, trying to understand what will make writing fun and healthy for me. A lot of it, honestly, is easier said than done, but also it's mental work you'll keep doing after you start writing again and as you write, and for me it's easier to process my relationship with writing when I am actually writing.
A big part of that mental work for me, and something I think is so valuable, is to reconsider what "bad" writing is and give yourself permission to write it. Sometimes you will think your writing sucks, happens to all of us, but that isn't all it has to be. Like yeah, I'll think something I wrote sucks, but I still wrote it. I can revisit it and work on it and maybe I'll turn it into something I'm happy with. And even if I don't, I still wrote it, I learned from it. Writing does not need to be "good" by whatever standard we're holding it up to for it to have value. And you can delete it! Nobody has to see it! Also you can have fun writing something and still think it's not your best. I've written a lot of "bad" scenes that I had fun with because the scene was entertaining to me! I love when writing turns out how I like it, or I write a banger prose line, but equally I found it helpful to give myself permission to not worry about that all the time and just focus on my interest/enjoyment in what I'm writing, regardless of the "quality". Again, easier said than done, but something I've found easier the more I write, because you'll have bad writing days but you'll also have writing days that are so good
I know a lot of people see writing as a skill that they want to improve, and like I agree it feels really good to see your writing grow, but writing is so much more than the skill and the craft and the theory. There is no objective "perfection" to reach with writing like we are not Sims with levelled skills LOL. Writing is art and creativity and it should be fun and fulfilling. And IMO, the more you focus on what makes writing fun, you will grow and "improve" as a writer a lot quicker and in a way that is a lot more enjoyable than if you treat writing like some icy quest for perfection. You also get to decide what "good" writing is for you/your story. Some of my stories are more prose focused and I'll play more with language, imagery etc. Others are more about the plot and just having fun imagining this scene. Sometimes it's a mix of both. What is "good" writing depends on the writer, story, genre, etc. There is no one way to write.
I'm rambling a lot because I'm just really passionate about this and I cannot express enough how easier writing got, including all the difficult and ugly and frustrating parts, when I gave space to prioritise my enjoyment and fun. People love to romanticise the idea of the "struggling" writer. I see stuff on here and I'm like you guys….writing should be fun. Like yeah sometimes it's hard and we should talk about that but like, you Need to make sure you are having fun. Anyway I'm going to try not to ramble and bullet point some things that helped me:
Make Writing Fun: Lol! Literally whatever makes writing fun. Sometimes I just write super indulgent scenes and the fun of that sets me up to work on my projects. When I work on my projects I try to find what in each scene I'm going to enjoy the most, and focus on that to help me write the rest. I make playlists, moodboards, memes, art etc for my story because it's fun, and it helps me be engaged with my story outside of writing it. Just, have fun.
On productivity: some people will benefit from setting clear goals and running towards them. Some people don't. For me it depends on my headspace. I don't think productivity is a bad thing, it can feel good, but productivity should not be the only reason you write. And the most productive writing process is whichever one makes writing enjoyable for you, because that's how you'll get words on the page
On that note, please be wary of anyone online who who treats the writing advice they share as Fact. I'm not saying every writing teacher out there does...but some of them market it that way! And creators do not have an authority on writing just because they have a platform however big. There are some AMAZING content creators out there who talk about writing, and I have found them motivating, but like just let yourself be picky about who you listen to/engage with. I say this because I consumed some very Strict writing advice when I was younger and it literally contributed to my years long slump so like...I'm picky now LOL
About goals: Personally, gentle goals are what help me get back into writing. Maybe just write for 20 minutes, or write every day for a couple days. When I do word count goals, I base them on how I feel that day, and recently I don't make a word count, I'll transfer it to the next session but smaller. So if I try to write 500 words but can't I'll say okay, lets try 250 next time. Goals can be a great motivator and way to feel achieved, and maybe bigger goals will help you, but you're also allowed to adjust them as you go to make it easier
On finding new ideas, having been there before, you don't need a fully fleshed out idea to start writing. My longest break I came back to writing with...one character and a backstory? If you have stories/characters already you can revisit them, either build on what you have or completely change it. Or if you don't have that, if there's a piece of media you like you can take that concept and play around with it in your own way, or you can even just write fanfic until you have your own idea (if you want your own idea, fanfic is cool too!) You can even just find a cool pic on pinterest and play around with describing it, writing about it, seeing if you can get anything from that. Ideas are everywhere and they can be tiny, and I think if you have that want to write you Will find your story eventually. All writers have had the Idea struggle, but I think the more you engage with writing and think about what concepts and stories interest you already, the more you'll like train yourself to get ideas
That was very long and maybe a lot but like, I am very passionate about this! I've been in writing "slumps" where I didn't know if I would write again, I've started writing again with no ideas, and in those times all I had was the fact I knew I wanted to write. There are a lot of reasons why we end up having long breaks from writing and it is totally normal, sometimes beneficial for us, and we should never give ourselves a hard time for not writing for however long. But also remember that you can always come back. Every one of us has the capacity to create, whatever that looks like, and you can make it as self indulgent and self serving as you want.
#also a bit on the creators and writing advice thing#I dont think every creator out there who does How To Do X.....is treating what they say as fact. and i dont think that's Bad#i think they're just teaching what they think is valuable info#but like...you're allowed to disagree with it#but I've also encountered people with big platforms who will say shit like if you don't do This Thing you WILL fail in some way#just because THEY had that expreience...or will do writing advice marketed like Harsh Truths For Writers!!!#and like yeah you might find something valuable in that but like it's all marketing!!! they want you to click on their post and engage!#again! not always a bad thing it's how the internet works unfortunately! but sometimes it IS kind of shady lol and you can just ignore it#i'm saying this as someone sharing advice right now. you can disagree with any of this lol#some people share writing advice online and that's literally how they make money or they're using that advice to sell their product#again fair i dont think that's inherently bad but i think just. look at this stuff with a critical eye. people have experience that can be#helpful but NOBODY is an authority on writing#cause unfortunately some people Are capitalising on the fact there are vulnerable writers out there looking for help#putting this extension in the tags because its not so much about starting to write again but i think its important#in regards to engaging with writers spaces. that engagement can be so motivating but you have to set barriers LOL

Rectifier Devlog #1 (March)
Guess who's back, back again- devlogs are back, tell a friend!
Hey hey, it's Joy! I've been taking a break finally-mostly just streaming while waiting for Otome Jam 2024. I've known I was going to participate in Otome Jam since this time last year LOL. (I've had to keep it's existence as mostly a secret for an entire year, which was difficult since it's probably my favorite project I've ever worked on, and has a cast of the best characters like ever.)
THIS PROJECT- "Rectifier" has been a WILD ADVENTURE. Fitting since it's an epic high fantasy adventure dating sim, where you play as an alien angel with 3 different personalities, traveling with your SEVEN super distinct love interests.
Each guy is based off of one of 7 deadly sins. Which means they alone, and in a group are a handful.
I want to just talk about a handful of things about the project as a whole, and what you can expect if you are interested.
For those that have played my most recent game "Lord of Lies" you won't feel so out of the loop. Though playing Lord of Lies before Rectifier is by no means a requirement. They just take place in the same universe. So the magic, world, and art is the same. Yes, same sprite artist! GET HYPED!
Rectifier is a special project as it is the exact dating sim I want to play. You step into the role of an Angel or more specifically a Nephelim, a celestial race of aliens who can shapeshift at will, have a great deal of magic at their disposal, and work to save humanity for themselves.
The project's mood is the most similar to "One Piece", "Avatar the Last Airbender", and many other action/adventures with a diverse cast of whacky characters- but if you could date them all.
The MC will have 2 appearances- masculine and feminine leaning, but you can be: she/her, he/him, or they/them.
What affects the game and your MC mostly is one of their 3 distinct personalities- Red, Green, and Blue respectively.
Red- dominant, confident, aggressive, and decisive.
Green- neutral, alien, observant, and intelligent.
Blue- submissive, diplomatic, understanding, and altruistic .
This personality system is one of the most unique aspects about Rectifier- you have 7 love interests and can romance them 3 different ways. So in a way, you've got 21 unique story experiences. Regardless of your choices/personality you can't get a bad end, and you and your chosen guy will fall in love in their own specific way.
Neat huh?
Although your choices don't lead to a bad end, that doesn't mean they don't have any impact in the story. Your personality/choices will affect specific story events, how characters react to and speak about you. Especially your love interest.
What's important to me was that players could sit down with the story and feel stress free. Though this doesn't mean the story won't have twists and turns.
Something special as well, is that no matter which love interest you choose, you still spend a huge amount of time with the other guys as they are your party members no matter what. Meaning you can get to know them again as friends. All the guys have complex relationships with one another, and maybe chemistry..? Who knows...hehe.
This is also the first project of Meant to Bee where I am working with multiple writers. This has been a wonderful decision as with such a large project, I worried I wouldn't be able to make each guy feel unique and interesting by myself lol. I will be writing one route all by myself. (Greed's route).
Regardless, I am creative director, lead writer, and programmer for this project- among many other things. I have a hand in every part of production, so it will still have my scent all over it...could have phrased that better LOL.
It's important I note one thing. Our submission to otome jam will actually be a spin off game.

WAIT WHAT?
Yeah, so... the project is quite large as you may have already guessed. I planned for a long time to release a huge demo showcasing the world and characters, covering the first couple chapters of each route, however...I didn't feel all that confident in that idea.
There's a lot of groundwork necessary for this project
So suffice it to say, I felt OVERWHELMED. And if I someone whose been sitting with this project since it was a spark of an idea felt that way. I knew for a fact my audience would also feel that way.
I needed more time, and otome jam was only getting closer everyday. I thought about compressing it, cutting corners here, simplifying concepts I loved, etc... but none of it sat right with me.
I was at a loss, and even went into a period of burn out/creator's block as a result. I've loved and I mean, adored, worshiped this project since the moment I decided I wanted to work on it. (that's a story for a whole other devlog) It's the kind of project where I HAD to show it to friends, months before it was ever meant to be announced.
I worried I would be doing the story, my team, and myself a disservice if I released it feeling the way I was. So much behind the scenes work has been made for this game.
I didn't want to release it and it be info dump-y, take too long to get to the hot boys, or cut short before it gets into the meat of the story. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. I want my readers to be interested, invested, clawing for more.
The demo focuses on setting up a lot of LORE, which can be interesting if we have enough time to make it interesting. It has to be strategic, it needed more time.
But otome jam is the best chance for this project to gain the attention it deserves. I didn't want to miss the window. So I was caught between a rock and a hard place.
UNTIL- I had a eureka moment...a side game.
But Joy (I can hear you asking yourself) a side game for a game that doesn't exist???
Yes.
I know why people play dating sims- for the boyssss, sure an interesting story is great- but ultimately it is background dressing. The story will be deep and detailed, but that's for the main game to worry about balancing the rich story with dating sim mechanics and conventions.
The side game, just fun dating sim, with little hints to a bigger picture.
You'll meet our boys in media res. You'll be thrown into what the heart of the game is. If you like where you land, then I'm sure you'll love the demo when it's released at a later date.
The Rectifier main game is VERY MUCH still a priority for me. But for now, for my team and I's first ever otome jam we are going to have fun and show you what we've been working so hard on.
So let me reintroduce you to our newest project...
"Rectifier: In Bloom"
The game will center around you/the MC receiving a flower from all your love interests in their very specific way. (This is a very rough concept sketch, but by the time all the love interests are revealed we will have an itch page.)
"Rectifier: In Bloom" will be a complete game! Each route will be anywhere from 5k-10k words, so you can get a good sense of each guy, and pursue them fully in the main game, as well as get a taste of the world, personality system, and feeling of the Rectifier world.
It's the best choice for my team and I to test the waters for both us and our player base. So I hope you'll enjoy this side game when it releases. We will make it so you can go in blind and still enjoy your time.
There's so many wonderful things I want to show. And I am so glad I am finally getting the chance to bring this story to life.

Thankkk you bestie I simply have opinions and I was never taught to shut up as a child.
Favorite moment?
This one is hard because there are so many great ones! For Avatar (2009), I love that scene where Jake and Neytiri are describing the way they were both flying to each other. It's just such a cute little moment to me, and as someone who only recently became hyperfixed on this series and saw both movies in a chill and non-invested way first, that scene was such a pleasant surprise on rewatch.
For Way of Water, I have a cute one and a not so cute one. I love that one shot of Tuk, Spider, Kiri, and Lo'ak crossing the Hallelujah Mountains to get to the forest before their kidnapping. I love how comfortable and playful they all are, just fucking around that high and on their way to a warzone sksksk. I just love the fuckery it implies they get up to on the regular, I want a feature length film of their shenanigans.
The not so fun scene is the stand off with Quaritch versus Neytiri on the sinking ship at the end. Ugh, it's just such a great idea on the writers part. It's so shocking but yet, so expected at the same time. Avatar is not known for it's storytelling, and I think that scene and those characters are just top notch for them. It puts your heart in your throat right away, and the kids pleading for each other never fails to get me. I love good complex writing and tbh it's not this series' strong suit, so this scene will always be my favorite.
11. An Unpopular opinion?
I'm already blocked by some creators in this fandom, so I try to stay spicy lol. I like to live rent free with you all. Hmm, I guess if you've been on my blog for a while this one might not be surprising but I do not believe that Quaritch (or any of the recoms) should be redeemed. Colonialism, racism, and genocide shouldn't be normalized that way. I just do not understand the fascination for redeeming villains who have done inexplicably evil actions without properly addressing them. For me the bar is fairly simple: Genocide, abuse, racism, rape, and just general war crimes are just like a nah. And people who say that a character has past trauma and that is why; well, duh bestie. That is an explanation, not an excuse. Many people who live with abuse and trauma actually don't become abusers and war criminals themselves; look at our main characters. We want to promote breaking the cycle guys, not perpetuating it. This is something I'm very passionate about. Expect better, from your characters and from your writers. If they can't adequately tackle what it takes to atone for such actions, they shouldn't try.
I also do not understand this argument for Quaritch, he does not have any past trauma for you guys to excuse him with?? We don't know his backstory. Don't project, read and watch critically.
But, here's a bonus unpopular take because you've all heard this one from me before: I don't understand the Rotxo hype, or the Rotxo and Kiri hype. My man Rotxo, while a cute little guy, is a budget Spider guys, without any of the character. Shipping him with Kiri is just for hating Spider and the complexities of him. Rotxo is literally the "stray cat" of Tonowari's family, where are his parents, it's never explained why he is there at any point. He's there at the final battle at Three Brother's Rocks and Lo'ak never even tells Jake he's there skskskks. Love him but him over Spider confuses the fuck outta me.
14. Hopes for Avatar 3?
I answered this perviously, but I will add another thing: I want more Mo'at content I am obsessed with her. Check out my Mo'at tag for me obsessing over Mo'at.

formulating small thoughts on all of the sinners in limbus so far (some vague limbus company spoilers, LARGE TEXT WALL WARNING):
yi sang - the blorbo. the scrimblo even. he is definitely one of my favourite sinners after canto 4 (will post my full thoughts on that later) which is surprising because i didn't really like him that much before at all. i was really neutral on him but canto 4 has just made me love him to bits
faust - she is super interesting to me, considering her source material i think she has the potential to have the best canto. i am also just constantly entertained by her antics (hell's chicken was the BEST for getting to know everyone a little more outside of the main plot. i'm super excited for 4.5) it's obvious she's hiding something, i think dante even mentions as such, but i think that makes her cooler. she is the one who (presumably) recruited all the sinners and vergilius, so she's rlly rlly interesting and i hope we get to know more soon (soon as in 2 YEARS WHEN HER CANTO IS OUT)
don quixote - definitely top 3 sinners for me, she's everything... she grew on me so much, after things like her moment with sinclair, the facade slip in canto 2... she's just super interesting to me and i'm really excited to see what comes with her canto. plus her favourite moment of mine which is the bongy chicken log where she talks about eating the chickens, and then proceeds to not own up to it. phenomenal job don
ryoshu - hellscreen is one of my favourite pieces of literature referenced by limbus, and it's real fucked up. ryoshu is very entertaining to watch, though she rarely speaks. seeing sinclair translate her acronyms is very silly and overall as a character i really like her so far. excited to see what's to come for her
meursault - i like meursault, there's no one i actively dislike, but i'm just neutral on him. he's cool i just dunno how to feel about him yet. his source material is cool though i'm excited to see how his canto goes. his moment in hell's chicken was silly and made me like him a lot more
hong lu - he's silly. i think all of the sinners are silly but hong lu takes the cake. though after canto 4 i've started respecting him a lot more, he can be really mature and he is a sweet little guy he's just a little dumb sometimes. i really enjoy his presence in the group though, he's great, i can't wait for his canto (though i'll probably never read his source material because of its sheer length, but i'll probably force myself to eventually because i am interested). thank you project moon for making me read classical literature
heathcliff - funnily enough heathcliff was one of my least favourites out of the group at the start of the game, but he is definitely one of my favourites now. it's been really sweet to see him gradually start to care about the other sinners and he has mellowed out a lot which i appreciate. wuthering heights is cool and i'm excited to see his canto (which i think is coming after ishmael's, so hype!)
ishmael - ISHMAEL. she is amazing. wonderful. beautiful. i'm not sure if i'd say she's my favourite sinner but she is definitely in my top 3 with donquixote, though if you asked me idfk who else is in the top 3. SO excited for her canto and she seems really interesting from the tidbits we got about her so far. like, she's gone to the outskirts? i hope she finally gets the closure she needs and deserves (..and we get a sea shanty from mili LOL)
rodya - the mother of the group... rodya was another character i didn't really care for at the start of the game but she's SO sweet and i don't understand how i didn't like her. canto 2 wasn't my favourite but it was really silly and i hope she gets another focus canto at some point because it feels unfair that sinclair and yi sang (and probably everyone else from this point) get a mili song but gregor and rodya don't??? i dunno, i really like both of them and i think it's a shame since their arcs didn't feel complete.. so hopefully she gets more spotlight!
sinclair - sinclair is very very cool. i like him very much, his canto was really interesting and kromer was a really cool villain, i like seeing him slowly gain confidence over the story and demian looks to be a really cool character as well. like gregor and rodya, his arc didn't feel fully complete to me (?) but hopefully he can get more of a spotlight in the future despite canto 3 being phenomenal already. i am not opposed to more sinclair content, he fits in the group really well and he bounces off the other sinners well. i really like him!!!
outis - words cannot describe how excited i am to learn more about outis. she's such an asshole but we support women's wrongs. was there any need to make fun of sinclair like that in canto 4? no, but she did it anyway. she seems to give less and less of a fuck about maintaining her relationship with dante every canto and i find that hilarious, outis is amazing. i'm really excited for her canto, i like her a lot
gregor - he is done so wrong in his canto. SO WRONG... gregor deserves the world, all he has ever done is be a cool guy to the rest of the sinners and he was the first person to kinda be nice to dante. and that was from the start as well. massive respect to trauma dad he is amazing. i hope he gets more spotlight soon, he works so well in the group and he has such fun interactions with everyone.
dantehh - they're so cool. they're so amazing. shuckaroonies they are a really interesting character. i really REALLY appreciate that they're not a self-insert because i think that would shatter my soul. i'm really interested to find out who they are, how this whole reversing people's time came from and where they came from because faust seems to know who they were before. they are a very good executive manager. well done on scoring those goals for lcg you absolute legend
these obviously aren't my full thoughts on all of the sinners, i'd love to do individual posts analysing all of the sinners and possibly a post with predictions about the next cantos based on the their respective source materials. but this is just how i feel about them after engaging in limbus for about 2 months and getting into lobcorp and ruina. (if you have read this far, and somehow haven't played these two games, PLEASE PLAY THEM THEY ARE SO GOOD...........)

Some thoughts about my cards because apparently i can't shut up:
I definitely think they have gl series planned for the near future but idk if they would announce them now given 23.5 hasn't even aired yet. The whole split announcement thing seems to be to gauge audience reception, so possibly gl in part 2 to ride off of 23.5? its in my bingo anyway
Winnysatang series is essentially confirmed and i don't think it's a high school series purely based on how much satang's been going to the gym lately lmao i mean it might just be his choice, but i choose to take anything and everything as hints 😌
I think most of us have seen the fk + p'new rumours which.. yeah 😬 (still not over what they did to between us <//3)
i want a fluke pusit + thor comeback because they were insane in the warp effect, but lbr that's not happening lol. But I've been seeing the Thor + fluke nattanon (from project alpha) stuff lately soooo 👀? i'm honestly kinda hyped for that too

i know jojo doesn't have any projects in part 1 and a couple of the actors i mentioned aren't even in the lineup, but i can't be bothered figuring it out so i guess some of this will just extend to part 2 :)
i really wanna see neomark again as leads, but i don't actually think we're gonna get mark in a bl (or at least as a cp) in part 1. Markford was obviously very successful because of msp, but i think neomark has more longevity (although idk if mark would be put in a set cp like that). Definitely think gmm wants to gauge the response to neomark more as only friends finishes up.
loved joong in the warp effect and i think he should just kiss everyone (hence joong harem) (joong dating show perhaps) i never rlly got into any of joongdunk's shows although i do love them as a pair outside of the series, so i kinda wanna see both of them act with different people (gmm give me ponddunk pls)
honestly joongdunk could be rlly good if u take them out of the same goddamn uni plotline every time 😭😭
lbr gmm's totally gonna try to recreate msp/gem4th's success with a new rookie pair. i do think msp was lightning in a bottle, so will this reach the same status? not likely, but only time will tell.

Oh the #BOCDoYourWork? I'ma just post some screenshots from twitter to sum it up:
So the basic gist is that Pond, Mile, Apo, and Bible all attended an event called Red Sea International Film Festival. I want to reiterate here that this is actually a pretty big deal. The RSIFF is a pretty notable film festival on the circuit other filmmakers and celebs like Spike Lee, Sharon Stone, Guy Ritche and Priyanka Chopra all attended. And those are just names American's will recognize, a lot of international talent also made an appearance to discuss their films and filmmaking in general along with screenings of various films including some Oscar entries for the upcoming Oscar season.
It's a dope film event and a great networking opportunity for Pond, Mile, Apo, and Bible.
So apparently Build had an event as well at the same time, BuildxLancome was the hashtag. I'm not fully sure what the event entailed, I honestly do not keep up with the actors individual activities (I only know about the RSIFF b/c I keep up with cinema both for work purposes and personal hobbyist interest). I know Build has a collab or something with Lancome which to my known is a makeup brand/company. It trended as well - something like 1 million tweets - which is great!
Build fans are upset and claiming BOC is showing "favoritism" towards Mile and Apo (idk why Bible is exempt from this and all my speculation is uncharitable lmao) and not "treating Build well" as shown in the above screenshots. Specifically BOC's instagram posted two messages: one regarding the RSIFF and one regarding Build's individual event:
According to stans this is blanent mistreatement against Build, passive aggressive and even dismissive!
(It's important to put as many victimizing adjectives you can when you want to push the narrative that your fave is being mistreating ya know?)
You can read the full open letter here from some Build stans cause I'm not posting all that lol but imo there's a FUCKTON of projection going on there.
Personally, I think it's a lot of loud wrong people being loud and wrong but confidently so. It's hilarious to me because it's clear 1. people don't understand how PR and management work (especially since it's a lot of Americans what the fuck do any of y'all know about how the Thai entertainment industry works??) and 2. it follows a pattern I've seen in countless fandoms where fans wanna victimize their fave who are getting beaten down, or controlled or mistreated by a nebulous "They". I am a good 89% sure if Build, or Bible, or Mile, or Apo (since I've seen stans of all these people say they're all being mistreated by BOC at one point or another yet they're all being favorited by BOC as well too! Schrodinger's mistreatment!) left BOC and went to another company stans would still say they were "mistreated".
Why do I think this? Because I've seen it happen! See Louis Tomlinson who left his original management and label after 1D and his stans still say he's being mistreated.
Because ultimately this sort of hyper para-social behavior isn't about actually discussing legitimate structural mistreatment within the entertainment industry, because it's hyper individualistic and conspiratorial, it's about being a "protector" of the fave in question. It's about being "different" from the sheeple fans who just accept that all is good~ and by being a "protector" you are different, you are closer to your fave, you are special. This is the line of thinking that can slip into conspiracy thinking that you see with celebs like Benedict Cumberbatch - who has a contingent of fans who are CONVINCED his wife is an evil blood sucking harpy and maybe Yakuza gang member/sex trafficked and god they just have to save him from his fake marriage! Also his kids are fake too - but also a lot with Kpop stars, BTS members are constantly being placed under the "victim of BigHit/Hype" narrative.
Aside from the para-social nature of it all this also gives people something to "fight for" and a "purpose" which feels good. Throw in a community that echoes the same sentiments and you have a power keg of cranky ass, overly confident stans who think their very rich and well connected adult faves are being mistreated~~ and harass whoever the source of their ire is.
Is BOC perfect? Lol no but notice how it's only the four most popular actors under the company, the ones with the most notoriety, the most connections, the most demand, that are being "mistreated" and not actors like Perth, or Barcode, or Jeff. Ya know, actors with less pull and clout? Not to mention this also goes against what the actors have said themselves about BOC/Pond at numerous times but that doesn't matter because it doesn't fit the victim/protector narrative. Or that they've talked about their own individual goals and views on fame, the spotlight, etc that don't 100% 1:1 match with stan expectations and wants. These people aren't real, they're avatars for fantasy projections.

For character bingo, gonna ask Reki!
reki! i like him! i think about him a lot because he's very important to the story and the themes and everything and he's a good little guy, not my fave on a personal blorbo level but a really fun character. he has a really really interesting meta-narrative as someone who's SO shonen-protagonist shaped but has to grapple with not actually being the "main character". i've made the comparisons to wakaba from utena before, but in a way a big chunk of the story really is like "what would rgu feel like if wakaba was an equally focal protagonist" and the answer is: fascinating, and does some really cool things with the idea of "side characters" with comparatively understated issues still being integral to the big dramatic story-defining character conflicts! and reki's strong characterization is the main reason why that works so well
"i do not understand the hype" is specifically in the sense of how he seems to be the #1 character in fanon for people to project on and use as the subject of so much of the ventfic and angst and h/c, including sometimes lifting traumas from other characters (i am not telling anyone not to write/enjoy stuff like this, do what you like! but it's not for me and i don't get it being so ubiquitous with reki specifically)

Episode 11 Thoughts
Oh, the Burners are helping refugees from Deluxe escape! I'm really curious about what exactly the political situation is in Deluxe - how much of the population opposes Kane? I mean, they live in a corporate dictatorship, but it seems entirely possible for someone like Claire to never feel like their freedoms have been limited, and to be extremely sheltered from the violence caused by Kane's expansionist tendencies. Anybody doing polls up in Deluxe? XD
Julie, Julie, Julie. Do you feel guilty because you couldn't help the Burners on this particular mission, or do you feel guilty because you're keeping secrets, or do you feel guilty because your dad is a cruel person with anger management issues who you love anyway? Because I have a feeling all of that guilt is about to result in some real unfortunate decisions.
Claire's total lack of understanding about why Julie is rebelling against Deluxe is just so darn intriguing to me. No understanding of broader social causes - maybe that's the effect of propaganda, maybe it's a bit of willful ignorance given that she's met people from Motorcity - but she's incredibly loyal to Julie on a personal level. Claaaaaaaire I wanna know more about what goes on in your brain!!!

I know he's not the best on picking up on other people's emotions, but this "Miss Deluxe" feels very targeted. On the other hand - Texas is a big bundle of machismo, which - I mean, that sort of braggadocio and extreme performance of masculinity often implies a lot of insecurities. In which case you could interpret his behavior as a projection of his own need to be perceived as masculine. Since Julie is "one of the guys" in his head, she falls into the category of "people whose gender I need to police to make sure I'm not girly."
Mike: "You don't need to prove anything."
This guy is so good to his friends, I am filled with warmth.
"The percentage of defecting Deluxians is miniscule." Ahhhh, so this answers some of my questions from the beginning of the episode.
And Kane's reply! "We lost Mike Chilton and look where that got us."
It's really all about Mike, isn't it? Kane would expand into Motorcity even if Mike hadn't defected, but I wonder how much of his wrath towards the place is specifically about losing control of his prize cadet.
Uhhhhh those cube things don't have people in them, right?? No, the Burners definitely just took down some buildings. Well, now Kane is launching actual human beings at their cars. I guess everybody's wearing invulnerability suits, so no harm done, but holy shit. If there are no casualties here it'll be a miracle.
HAHAHAHAHA oh my GOD Kane's advertisement for Kane Shades with his naked sweating muscular chest, what the HELL?? It's making me think of various other real-life dictators and autocrats who have tried to hype their own sex appeal in state propaganda. XD
Julie: "Are you insane??"
Mike: "You'll be fine; you've got the safety suit!"
Julie: "Yeah, but what about you??"

With Kane pulling crap like this it's a wonder there isn't a higher percentage of defectors. Ahhh but he blamed the Burners. I see.
Concluding Thoughts:
It seems like it never really sunk in for Julie that she doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. And I think that indicates that her insecurity stems from guilt about lying to her teammates and guilt about her father, because those are the things that haven't changed. At least she can confide in Claire.
And speaking of Claire! What an intriguing character! She's not about to join the revolution, per se, but on the other hand she is absolutely risking her life when she lies to Kane to cover for Julie. I love it. :)
Texas is just. A lot. In Texas-ify It, he was slightly humbled by realizing he had misplaced the trust he put in Kaia, but I wonder if we're going to get a Texas-centric episode where he learns to be generally more emotionally aware. We don't need Mike levels of intuitive empathy here, just - I think it would be interesting to poke a little bit more at his character and why he behaves the way he does, and what it would take to get him to make an effort to change his behavior for his friends.

It's always funny to me when people complain when awards shows have too many acting categories/slots per category because it doesn't mean that nobody was snubbed? Do people understand how many movies/tv shows come out every year? Even if the people everybody thought would get nominated got nominated there's still a bunch of people who were also in consideration that didn't get in.
Agree! I think the problem with the Globe categories isn't that there are too many, it's that they nominate the most ludicrous things in Musical/Comedy categories. Barry is not actually a comedy, lol. May December is so far from a comedy it's ABSURD.
I mean, if you want to talk snubs that aren't snubs... LET US NOTE lol that Jacob Elordi didn't get nominated for anything, and his stans are very upset, and as someone who thinks his recent attempts at being remade as a Serious Actor are ridiculous, I am... Amused. Like, look, these awards only matter in some cases, but he was clearly gunning hard for both projects, and...
I've seen Saltburn. I haven't seen Priscilla (hoping to see it very soon). I've mentioned my issues with Priscilla as a concept before (especially when it comes so quickly on the heels of Elvis) but I think that of all the things I could see it being nominated for, the, you know, girl playing Priscilla would hopefully be ahead of Elordi...? I'm not familiar with her at all, but if she can't carry the film then what is the point. Sofia Coppola also seems to be missing out this year, and while there are definite sexism issues with the directorial spot (and Greta got the woman's chair) (and the fact that both of them are white women with significant connections to prominent male directors is kind of disheartening) I'm not mad at it because I think Sofia is... hit or miss, and often extremely overhyped. And I don't like how she's handled the press around this movie at all.
But yeah, I haven't yet seen his performance as Elvis beyond clips. However... the clips I have seen? Are ROUGH, dude. His accent is in and out, he seems very one-note abuser (and hello, Nate!). And as I've waxed poetic about, I found him to be a black hole for charisma and a momentum-killer with Saltburn. A movie that was generally weak, but no shock that Barry got nominated because a) Barry is getting set up as a prominent character actor, and I'll be honest, I'm not like HYPE about his career and I hated The Eternals... so much lol.... but he was great in Banshees, really, and it's nice for an actual working class actor to come from the UK, so I'll bite and b) that dance scene was going to lock in noms for him. And tbh? I'm fine with that. Jacob Elordi cannot stand up next to actual actors.
Also, the delusionality to think that he was going to be the star breakout of the awards season after the reviews Charles Melton got...? There's a huge, specific prejudice Hollywood has against Asian men in prominent or leading roles. Charles is super gorgeous and super talented and has leading man written all over him, but he's still going to deal with that. However, if a breakout is going to stand up next to the big boys (the same way Austin Butler did last year) it's going to be Charles. If a breakout guy is going to beat out Ryan Gosling and De Niro and all them, it's going to be Charles.
I am a little sad Zac Efron didn't get a nom, but I haven't seen his movie yet. I am SUPER intrigued by the premise, and I do want to see it, and I have always had a soft spot for Zac because I think he's actually super talented and appreciate his candidness re: his struggles with eating disorders, etc. But yeah, I would've liked to see him get a nom, and him getting shut out from the GGs, however the Globes are not what they used to be, doesn't bode well for other, more prestigious awards.

I think anon is overexaggerating about Nick saying he is straight many times. Context is really important. When he was doing PH him and Sofia didn't have a PR relationship but they played up to the cameras, like all actors do, to sell the movie. The media did the whole "are they or aren't they dating" thing. In an interview Nick made a comment about ex girlfriends and Sofia gave him a funny look. It threw her off lmao. Iirc he also made a comment about being straight during PH era. In his more recent interviews the interviewer was really pressuring him to talk about his sexuality and it was uncomfortable. The interviewer kept assuming his sexuality and he didn't correct them. Then there was a tweet about being an ally when he worked with GLAAD. I'm not saying that he isn't straight but I don't find that proof enough that he is, or him saying he had a crush on Anne Hathaway when he was younger or whatever. He hasn't said anything that Louis hasn't said when pressured to talk about his sexuality. So I'm still keeping an open mind. If he starts making out with women and shows sexual chemistry towards them then I'll change my mind. But not based on the context of the interviews alone. Would love to hear your opinion of the Variety interview Marte! Also, just like HL's fandoms he does have het fans who try and shut down any talk about his sexuality and ship him with every woman but at the moment they seem the minority. It might change as he gets more famous.

And like i said just minutes ago, i haven't formed an opinion yet. Why would i lie about that? I could just say i think he's gay if i did? I don't form opinions on guesswork and stereotypes. And why are you so defensive? You do know that he still might be queer even if he's proclaimed himself to be straight mulitiple times? It wouldn't be the end of the world if he was queer. He'd still thrive and have a large fanbase who'd support him, including 46 larries. Even if that's not his goal.
And to you the first anon, i am inclined to agree. Context and knowledge on how the business operates is important. Saying that he had a crush on AH means little to me. He might be gay or bi/pan and closeted.

Last week my group took a day trip to Tivoli as well as a weekend trip to Verona, Vicenza, and Venice. The photo above was sneakily captured when I thought I was pretending to be a column by myself in Hadrians Villa in Tivoli [shout out to Kiera for capturing this and embarrassing me a little]. The lack of photos I have from Hadrians Villa speaks to how in awe I was with the complex of baths, gardens, fountains, and ruins that I was not even able to discern. After walking around the Villa and being one with the architecture I proceeded to buy a book about Hadrians letters to his successor, Marcus Aueralius. The Villa, while beautiful, was not as attention grabbing as Villa d'Este (the next place I visited), but the brief history I received about the old emperor encouraged me to do more research of my own and I can definitely say that I have found a new hype fixation. Honestly, I could go on and on about Hadrian and this book but given that this is a travel blog I will save that information to inflict upon the next person that asks me about it. So, if you do not want to hear me talk about some random old guy for hours, don't ask me about Hadrian.
Villa d'Este was the next location after Hadrians Villa. Once again, I am lacking in photos of the Villa, so sorry about that but if you google photos you might understand why. This particular villa was heavily inspired by Hadrians Villa and gives a better idea to what Hadrians might have looked like before it became ruins. The complex was a dream. Every turn I took in the gardens brought me into a new outdoor-indoor space housing a small fountain, a long hall open to the sky but shaded with plant growth, and an amazing view of Tivoli.
The start of our weekend trip took my group to Museo di Castelvecchio, Juliet's balcony, and Villa Rotunda. I will be so honest right now: I do not care about Juliet's balcony. We spent a lot of time waiting in line to take a photo on the balcony and the whole time I am thinking, "How were Romeo and Juliet's meetings secret? Juliet lived in a small square with neighbors, the balcony is perfectly visible from that courtyard and the homes entrance, and the balcony is accessed right from the main staircase with no walls to hide it,". In my humble and completely biased opinion, not worth the visit. Castelvecchio, on the other hand, was so completely worth it. It used to simply be a castle for the residents but recently (1956 recently) Carlo Scarpa restored the building. This was met with some controversy at the time given that Scarpa removed some of the original structure, however, while I was walking around and experiencing Castelvecchio, I was taken aback by the skill and talent of Scarpa in his ability to take an existing structure and make it new again while never letting us forget that this was a renovation. Following the visit to Castelvecchio which I did not want to end, my group went to see Villa Rotunda. I talked about this feeling in my last blog post but I MUST reiterate: I learned so much about Villa Rotunda in my architecture history classes and never considered that I might have the opportunity to ever see it in person. It might seem silly to say, but visits where this feeling hits me are truly a religious one. Going from seeing a slide show of the site and having to write an essay on it to actually being there and playing karate on its walls is surreal.
After the full day of travelling to three different locations we arrived at the hotel to a free meal (thank god for queen Alba) and sleep. Venice was our next stop for Saturday and Sunday. I got to see more Scarpa work in the Fondazione Querini Stampalia and the Negozio Olvetti which was amazing. There's not really words to describe what I think of his work. Each visit that took me to see it made me appreciate the simplicity that architecture can be and reflect on my own work. Of course I would never compare my projects to his but it always makes me feel more adequate in what I turn in. Our styles and talent are far from each other and I am not sure I will create anything as moving as Scarpa but with each project I turn in I compare my simplicity and straight forwardness to my peers experimental and complex ideas. Seeing that a man like Scarpa is so revered for his simplicity being so moving encouraged me to not look at my work as a comparison to others ever again.
The Biennale took the group two days to get through and I did not even see both the Arsenale and the Giardini in their entirety. We began at the Arsenale which had both art installations on their own as well as countries pavilions. The art was modern and different to what we have seen so far. It was interesting to see the installations and not really understand what the message was (but still finding it interesting) and then moving to read the artists words on it. The pavilions of each country were my favorite part of both locations of the Biennale. The Giardini was completely comprised of the pavilions and I walked around without realizing that time was passing. The way each country chose to display their art was head whippingly different and a shock in each new pavilion I entered. In the Giardini I again saw pavilions that I had learned about in some of my classes. I would love another opportunity to visit both of the Biennale locations because I did not make it through either side completely with all of the time I spent there.
For next weeks blog I would say you will see better photos showcasing what I talk about (and that will be the goal!) but let's be real, I am too busy walking around, learning about and loving what I see to even remember I have a phone.

Let me explain... You see, as a Jikooker, sometimes I wonder why am I so affected/concerned about the personal life of two guys I don't even know in real life. I genuinely wonder why am I enjoying it so much? I feel like sometimes this whole thing gets too much into my head, you know?
I am personally the type who does hype jikook interactions, tho I try to stay cautious most of the times. The thing is I truly believe that there is something there. But truthfully, the whole "speculation" thing is extremely frustrating to me. And I think the frustration comes from the fact that I literally feel as if I'm on a big "mystery hunt" and I won't get satisfied until I get to know the truth. Does it makes sense? I do realize how toxic this is and that's why I'm writing this to you.

I've had another anon feel the same way as you, although I think they were far more upset about their role in fandom and how far into it they'd gone. In contrast, it sounds like you know that this is something you experience and yet you maintain a good sense of humor about it, so I wouldn't be too concerned.
It obviously depends from person to person and the extent of their obsessions, but generally that fixation is encouraged by constant exposure to them (and everything else that occurs when generating the foundation of parasocial relationships).
Not many people fall quick and hard into intense shipping; the intensity develops over time. So it's a mixture of that and also (more than likely) your own experiences projected onto them, even if it's subconscious. I'm not your therapist, so I'm barely grazing the surface when I say this and it might be inaccurate in your case, but for instance: a person with untreated depression will consciously/subconsciously seek out different coping methods. For some, that might be food, and for others it might be living vicariously through others' lives to the point where it feels like they're actually a part of your life in a way that feels intimate. This is all in an effort to avoid addressing what's happening with them in their own lives.
I'm oversimplifying this, but there are common behaviors and backgrounds in people who are fixated on lives outside of their own, and there's always an underlying reason for that.
Your average person who is otherwise content in every aspect of their lives generally won't find value in anything that doesn't further what they want to accomplish (internal or external). Fanatically following the lives of celebrities and overanalyzing their actions/words with the sole purpose of ensuring that narrative is correct doesn't benefit someone like that. It might provide short-term satisfaction, sure, but they're also more than likely the types of individuals who'll easily move onto something else when their interest no longer serves them.
And I think the frustration comes from the fact that I literally feel as if I'm on a big "mystery hunt" and I won't get satisfied until I get to know the truth. Does it makes sense? I do realize how toxic this is and that's why I'm writing this to you.
You bring up an interesting point about the concept of shipping, which boils down to wanting an answer that you may or may not get. This idea of not knowing creates discomfort in a lot of people, and the desire of knowing isn't inherently bad. I, and I'm sure many others, are interested in the idea of whether or not Jikook are actually end-game, but I'm not in any way compelled to pursue it and am not going to be affected if the results don't fit what I'm anticipating.
I'll also add that what you're describing isn't toxic. Behaviors become toxic when such a hyperfixation begins to have adverse effects on your social environment--when your need for your beliefs to be true trumps social niceties. Prioritizing fantasies over reality is another one, and while preferring fantasy over reality is also not inherently bad (unhealthy, probably), it becomes toxic when that fantasy has to exist at the expense of others.
Anyway, this is an explanation that I can offer you. It differs from person to person, and why you do what you do won't be exactly the same as another.
