if Mike Chilton had a middle name, what would it be
pleeeease throw possibilities at me I NEED suggestions. for certain Purposes. 👀
(preferably middle names that would sound satisfying if Someone hypothetically yelled "MICHEAL ______ CHILTON IF YOU LEAVE EMPTY PIZZA BOXES IN THE FRIDGE ONE MORE TIME I WILL STRANGLE YOU")
and you know what while I'm at it middle name ideas for all the OTHER Burners would be great too but I'm less preoccupied with that rn pff

here are quite a lot of very self-indulgent and excessively poetical cyborg AU vs. medieval AU thoughts.
…………..I was writing a raymanthia AU and thinking about universe swaps (because of a certain SOMEBODY you know who you are). So I was thinking idly about how maybe they have magic in Raymanthia but their tech is basically nil and their medical/scientific skills aren’t the most advanced and their wars are fought differently and etc. etc. etc.
And then I thought about the different burners switching into their places in the realm and I have a lot of thoughts about Mike seeing the army his other self leads, the men who respect and admire him, and getting really emotional! BUT THAT’S NOT THIS POST (mostly)

Very understandably the height comparison website did not include mech silhouettes as an option but that’s okay because it allowed me to give Optimus Prime the beefy dad bod he deserves.
And anyway it still communicates the vision. The sense of scale. The promise of the premise, the appeal of giant mecha: they are giant! Mike is squirrel-sized compared to them! Chuck would flip the fuck out, it would be so much fun!!!

Mike and Dutch tow a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse back to the Burner’s garage. *Admiring oohs and aahs all around from the gang of automobile enthusiasts.* In the early twenty first century, that Bugatti model was one of the fastest street legal cars in the world. This particular vehicle has several incomprehensible mods going on under the hood, components that none of the Burners have ever seen before. And the parts that are recognizable are just - wrong.
Chuck opens the fuse box and stares in bafflement at the segmented metal plates stacked neatly in the place of actual fuses.
“The battery doesn’t have terminals,” Julie says. “I’m not even sure it’s a battery.”
Texas leans in next to them and taps the engine block with a wrench “I don’t need to understand how the dang thing works to use it! Let’s just take this out and hook it up to Stronghorn, Dutch!”
The Burners are shoved back as the car somehow flexes and bends. The hood of the Bugatti snaps shut with a firm clack. And it drives away.
*cue chase sequence at over 200 mph ending with a disgruntled Drift transforming and declaring their driving to be “truly remarkable for organics”*

#God the places this could go#This is in some ambiguous au timeline of my own and a half baked understanding of the mtmte and lost light comics#but drift has already defected from the decepticons and been trained by the circle of light#He somehow ended up on earth pre-apocalypse#and he went into stasis to conserve power prior to being woken up by the burners#A currently factionless mech disillusioned with the war encounters scrappy rebels whose oppressor#reminds him both of Megatron - of swearing an oath to a cause he believed in only to watch the cause become endless violent destruction -#But also of the worst excesses of the autobot golden age#the gleaming towers of wealth and prosperity forever barred to the guttermechs like him down in the Dead End#Aaaaaahhhhhh

So listen. The past month or so I’ve been mildly obsessed with astolat’s Transformers fics. Do I know anything about canon? No. This is beside the point. The point is - can you imagine a Motorcity - Transformers crossover?
The Burners find a car that turns out to be a giant sentient million-year-old alien mech. ROTH with a giant robot from space! Mike longingly imagining what it would be like to not just drive, but be a car! Chuck freaking out about meeting a real life extraterrestrial! Texas asking the worst questions imaginable!
And that’s just the goofs! If Optimus “father figure” Prime showed up and got involved I’m pretty sure you could work in some painful stuff with Julie and/or Mike . . .
I have no idea how much astolat’s fics adhere to canon Transformers. However. Assuming the history of the decepticon/autobot war looks anything remotely like it does in Victory Condition, any older autobot that ends up in motorcity would see alarming and unpleasant parallels between Detroit and Cybertron. The shiny new city being built on top of the old, blocking it out and forcing part of the population to live down in the dark! “Progress” built on the backs of the underclass! The THEMES! The Burners have some common ground with the decepticons, it’s right there.
I don’t know enough about Transformers to write this but these worlds would mesh together so beautifully! Do you see my vision? Do you see it??

future interpretation of the gang, ill prolly add jacob later on, but i really like how it came together with the help of @giantrobotslug
(notes below)
- The burners here are in their mid to late 20s
- claire officially moved into motorcity, rocking her own style (smth like cyberpunk/futurepunk? with a mix of retro space chic, and racer outfits as well, similar to the amazons episode) i will probably design more outfits for her since shes so fun to draw
- dutch works along the cablers with tennie, so he picked up a bit of their equipment into his everyday outfit (outside of driving), always has his mask and wrench on him, but also uses a coat from time to time when taking time alone to make art
- texas picks up workout, and gains weight and strength, but his suit's sleeves cant fit his arms in, so he just ties them by the waist and calls it a day lol
- julie around this time has already cut off ties from kane, completely changing her look, piercings, a nine lives cat sleeve tat on her left arm, and a burner flame tattoo sleeve on her right arm (that i forgot to add) matching mike
- mike's still holding onto his iconic jacket with a few stitched up rips here and there, loosely worn with the bottom tucked in, he keeps his sleeves folded to show off his tattoo, plus practicality, he also has his spark staff clipped to his belt
this was the second time i drew him, since his first draft looked kinda off
- chuck takes up a more loose/casual and comfy look, with a coat resembling the design for his matching ride, blonde thunder, he also has longer hair
