fun fact, during my first fully blind playthrought of bg3 I honestly thought gale was the writers' favourite if nothing else because of how much varied dialogue he had. like I never reallly had a conversation with astarion that wasn't about his trauma, his vampirism or how boring I am for not wanting to take over a cult but I knew all of gale's hobbies, two or three childhood's anecdotes and the whole history of tara, who he was making plans to introduce to me later.

Jealousy, Jealousy.
Note: I tried Smth new w howl, pls pls lmk if u like it cuz I was half asleep as I typed this out (・∀・)
Tumblr media
He's jealous.
It was only a quick pitt stop at the Wizard Pendragon's shop (one of Howl's many aliases) that set it all off.
A calm morning for the Pendragon's moving household was set to start and the shop needed a bit of upkeep as customers were running dry. So with the creaky floorboards all swept up and Calcifer warned to not misbehave, the clock-like magical device that hung next to the door signalled with a resounding ding and a switch in colour indicating where the castle had teleported to.
There was a long day ahead but you couldn't be more pleased.
As the hours went on Howl worked in rhythm with you as tinkering laughter was heard throughout the shop and bubbling mixtures were stirred harmoniously in cauldrons. There was a calm air to your love as he flitted around you with hands briefly coming to couch and maybe even teasingly squeeze at your hips as he passed.
"Pass me the dandelion leaves ?", He asked while focusing on the lilac fluid seeping from the side of the potion bottle he was pouring into.
You nodded with a kiss atop his freshly midnight-dyed hair - courtesy of sweet Sophie, you know she didn't mean it but you couldn't thank her more for the darkened charcoal colour that had seeped into his golden locks- and off to the ingredients section you went muttering past bottles of all sorts.
Coming back empty handed with no dandelion leaves in sight you let your eyes wander to his sprawled out form in the chair by the fire, Howl only looked up and smiled a bit disappointedly before getting to his feet and tugging on his boots.
You could already see long black feathers creeping out his cloak, predicting his speedy mode of transport for the errand.
"I'll be back in a moment sweetheart, not to worry. Markle will take care of everything."
Knowing full well the small child would've dosed off by now as he'd left to play in the fields while you both worked, you were left to manage the quaint store while Howl flew out for after a dizzying kiss goodbye and mumbles of bringing you wildflowers to carefully twist into your hair.
Then and only then did a customer decide to come in.
He was a polite young man, easily flustered and a soldier of the royal palace you noted due to the bluish uniform donning his slightly hunched physique.
He was nervous.
You grinned trying to ignore his demeanour so that maybe the pink in his cheeks would lessen.
"Ma'am, the queen has requested for a simple sleep draught from the makings of your shop.", He coughed, "please." came soon quickly after he'd recollected himself and pulling at the yellowed buttons holding his vest together.
You hid your smile behind the worn glove that your sweet partner had embroidered a pathetic attempt of a small daisy onto which you very much cherished, it felt like you were talking to a mouse rather than a fully grown man.
"Why of course."
The man...boy even, settled into a lone seat to watch you set up, eventually gaining courage to invite you into bubbly conversation that you found very boring very fast hence weren't all too interested in so short sugared-up answers were all he received.
The 'banter' he thought he was receiving on your end was honestly faked curiousity.
It seemed he was quite dim. Too dim for your liking.
His puny attempts to indirectly flirt were unoriginal and simply unwelcome.
Just as you were starting up your potion with another lame probe on the topic of the weather about to leave the man's mouth, your beloved hurriedly came in. Cheerily he was chattering on about a bird he'd been able to fly up close to in in his bird-like form.
"Oh, you should have seen it's-", Howl interrupted himself to stare at the man sat atop the brass stool across your apothecary tabletop, "feathers?"
His demeanor immediately switched.
Gone was the gentle, patient magician you were so accustomed to. There stood an intimidating wizard and he oddly felt much taller, much more powerful than a split second ago.
This was the Howl Pendragon you'd only ever heard about through word of mouth, not the one that childishly insisted to cuddle up on your ill-fitted couch or cast silly spells to jokingly make your hair stick up in different directions.
No. This was a whole different feel of a person and it seemed like the magic was almost spilling out of him in waves, you could almost taste it's electric crackling force in the air.
He felt more confident, cocky, ready to rip into this poor man down to his basic self-worth.
You liked it.
His lips twitched.
"Darling, who is this?"
Howl's voice was always deep and smooth as silk, just as it was right now, yet you were no fool and could pick up on the the roughened edges of his tone.
But it seemed like the young soldier took no notice of the emotional state of the suddenly very upset wizard in his presence. He only turning around to bow deeply in respect while stuttering out a greeting and an explanation of his presence.
Howl only had a curt nod to give as a reply and you could tell he wasn't very ecstatic have a new face in here.
If he could roll his eyes at the 'competition', they'd roll all the way to the back of his head to see his brain.
The next few minutes were tense as he only grinned tightly and came to your side to place a very domineering palm on your corseted waist pulling you in closer to his warm body, sending a clear message.
"I'm sure you've got this one little potion down love?", He said with his eyes sharply glancing to the young man that had very clearly receded back into his shell at this point.
Howl didn't even need to say a word, didn't even need to properly look at the guard for him to metaphorically back away. But of course he had to ensure he got his point across, so what else could he do but dip down to deeply kiss your lips, he was only seconds away from basically pushing his tounge into your mouth if you didn't stop his dramatic live-performance.
Nodding satisfied with himself, you huffed whispering 'show off' while he stepped back to tend to his dandelion-leaf-less potion.
You couldn't even look up at the barstool your customer sat on anymore with the intense blush covering your face and you could only imagine the agony of embarrassment he was going through.
With the potion sealed up and a-way-over-the-actual-price bag of coins thrown at the counter, he promptly escaped out the door not even bothering to check for any change.
Shrugging you turned back to glare at Howl who was innocently blinking into space.
"Was the last part really necessary."
He slowly smirked, tendrils of his magic swirling past your shoulders.
"Whatever do you mean?"
You quickly found yourself within his grasp, pressing kisses to your knuckles as an apology.
You knew he wasn't sorry at all.
Loud laughter could be heard from a distance as Calcifer moved the castle along to wherever your hearts desired.

What to Do when you Travel to the City
There's a great nightlife. Long stretches of city blocks radiating blinding neon, frenzied beats thrumming up from the asphalt, humming along to the violent slaughter taking place around you. Let your cheek and lips be painted red by another, fall into feverish affections, rhapsodize.
Prior to 5:30 AM weekdays, all Skytrains will be making scheduled detours into the throat of the God of Deep Anguish. Customers traveling between West Broadway Station and 5th should plan for at least 20 minutes of extra travel time and prepare for some crowding on trains and platforms.
The Gardens of Excess will be having their annual Summer Flower Festival this July. Please remember to keep emotionally malleable individuals out of reach of the fruit trees. Employees of The Gardens will not be held responsible for any marriage or germination that may occur between guests and the Unrelenting Abundances.
The beaches that surround the City are great to visit with the entire family. The sand burns the soles of your feet and pierces your skin when kicked up by the wind. The only escape is the ocean and it has been reaching for you all the while. You did not notice the rising tide but now it has reached well past your waist and it pulls. You feel the ground disappear beneath your feet and then...nothing but the sea. You fight to keep your head above the water but it tugs at your ankles, impatient and eager to embrace you in full, to show you its depths. This is a struggle you will not win.
The Night Market is open once again! From April to November come by and sample strange, fermented corruptions, experience Death In Perpetuity, and stock up on gifts for Christmas like featureless iron masks, the gift of prophecy, or a seat on the throne of a kingdom in dreams. Whatever your wishes are, the Night Market is a great place to strike an unpleasant bargain, win or lose yourself in hand to hand combat, or just people watch.
Be sure to visit the dungeons while you're here. Our Wizards have made sure that every moment you spend within these vile halls is both foul and incredibly distressing. You will encounter incredible creatures not from this plane of existence and many have even carved out their own eyes when faced with the horrors. Hundreds enter the gates every year and none have ever emerged but you could be the first!
As host to many cosmically traumatic events such as the divine nascence of The Stairs and the cataclysmic joining of Man To His Beloved and Wretched, the City boasts a number of unique and exciting tourist destinations. Witness first hand the crater left in the wake of Her Movement or the forest that blossomed forth at the climax of the Great Pestilence. Keep up to date on weather reports and the movement of the beings by downloading our city's informational app or visiting our website.

Ladies, Germs, and assorted beloved Fruits, may I present the Zmeess robe, my secret sewing project of the last few months.
We all know I have a soft spot in my heart for the critical role character Essek Thelyss but alas, he never called for me to cosplay him.
The wonderful artist @zmeess draws him SO handsome and designs his clothing SO elegantly that the temptation to sew something grew and grew till instead of a cosplay, I simply had to make one of Zmeess’ wizard robes as a regular piece of clothing for me.
the artwork I fell in love with
Zmeess was EXTREMELY kind in giving me the go ahead to get sewing and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I did some edits of my own to make the jacket wearable and practical (adding a contrasting lining to the torso, keeping it tea length and shortening the sleeves a smidge, adding a few extra beads here and there).I can’t wait to find a day fancy enough to wear it out (the theater! or a nice elegant dinner! a wedding if the couple wont judge me) and once the local weather stops raining I plan to take a shoot outside with some different more natural styling and you can all see it from neck to ankle.
As a plus sized person its always nice to explore volume and purposeful obfuscation of shape when fashion dictates that we take up less room and look as thin as possible. Making myself a big elegant wizard robe that turns me into a mystery is extremely refreshing! As a cosplayer its kind of nice to do a reverse closet cosplay (instead of making a costume out of clothing I own, I am making fictional clothing to go in my regular closet with no costumes involved) and its something i could see myself doing more in the future.
If you are interested in how I made this I will be doing a full breakdown on instagram including the embroidery, pattern drafting/hacking, and all the fiddly details.

A Poet's Heart
Zevlor x (f)Tav [Fluff]
Tav began digging through her rucksack on her way through the Emerald Grove. She had a meeting with Commander Zevlor soon and had rushed through her noonday meal, scarfing an apple, a hunk of bread, and a few slices of cheese and cured ham. As her hand rummaged through multiple potion bottles and gold pieces, it brushed against something flexible and smooth: paper. Baffled, she carefully removed the folded sheet and opened it, looking down at the haphazard yet elegant scrawl.
Another one, she thought to herself. Tav glanced around but saw no one watching her at this moment. Carefully, she studied the words on the page and wondered who her mysterious admirer might be. Her heart melted as she considered the possibilities: Gale and Wyll were her top two contenders, as the wizard had mentioned dabbling in poetry and the duke’s son was ever a courtly gentleman, but Tav also couldn’t discount Astarion and Shadowheart, who had also grown closer to her in the past week and could be luxurious in their words when they chose to be.
Smiling to herself, she read through the note. A poem, this time. It wasn’t always a poem, sometimes it was just a short, lovely note praising her leadership, her prowess in battle, her smile, her laugh. Tav found that she rather liked the poems though, there was something very romantic about them, the author’s emotions laid bare for her to see.
The sun does not choose the brilliance with which it shines
Nor do my beloved’s eyes;
Her lips as sweet as berry wine
Breathe onto mine with delicate sighs
Short and sweet though it was, it made her head spin with the possibilities. It was intimate, knowing; it caressed her as she mouthed the words to herself and sent her into a daydream, imagining a scene with her unknown admirer. She sighed wistfully before remembering where she was, and stuffed the note back into her bag as she continued on her way to Zevlor’s chambers.
Tav was the last to arrive, having been too caught up in her reverie to feel any real urgency around this meeting or the goblin situation in general. She smiled an apology to the Hellrider, who acknowledged her entrance with a slight nod of his head. He moved to the side slightly as Tav approached him around the side of the desk, eager to go over the map and general goblin movements. He is a very handsome man, she thought, though she tried not to allow herself to get lost within a fantasy at this moment.
As Zevlor spoke, Tav nodded along, listening intently and adding relevant information as it became pertinent. While her group had yet to engage with the goblin leaders, they had found, followed, and dispatched several small scouting parties out in the woods and near the Emerald Grove.
Zevlor’s taloned index finger traced routes on the weathered map, stopping to mark specific locations Tav and her party had discovered the past few days. She watched him dip his quill into the inkpot and then carefully annotate the map near the bridge that spanned the small river.
Her eyes unfocused and then narrowed in with the precision of an eagle. His handwriting. It was his handwriting, she thought, shocked. Her hand shot into her bag and gently thumbed the piece of parchment she had only recently returned to its resting place. Small tears pricked at the corner of her eyes as the realization shot through her body like a bolt of lightning. Tav’s mouth trembled briefly as she looked at Zevlor's face, bent over his desk and set with a look of focus and intent. He hadn’t yet noticed that she was unwell.
“I must take my leave,” she choked out. “Please let me know if you require anything further.” He looked up to her face as she wiped away a tear and then quickly began marching toward the stone door to the commander’s chamber. As she exited, she heard him call after her, heard his footfalls rushing towards the closing door.
“Tav!”
She stopped to the right of the door, along an empty and nondescript hallway. The door to the chamber opened once more, Zevlor rushing out and hurriedly looking left and right. He breathed a sigh of relief to see her still so near, and no longer rushing away from him.
He walked to her carefully, studying her face for any signs of extreme distress or upset. As he approached and held out a hand, Tav pulled out the parchment scrap in her bag and handed it to him, her eyes shining with tears and a deep emotion that Zevlor wasn’t sure he recognized. He knew what she held, and made no move to take it from her.
“So you know,” he whispered, his head dipped and eyes looking to her while cloaked under his infernal brows. “I knew you would find out eventually, you must, and I knew I couldn’t keep up the charade forever.” He sighed heavily and stepped closer still, while Tav watched him, mouth agape, rooted to the spot where she stood.
“You must know, you are a very special person, Tav. Your eyes melted me when they first saw fit to gaze upon my face and warm me for the first time in years. Your smile did the very same, and even caused my own lips to curl upwards for what seemed like the first time in ages. There is life in you, a spark of joy and wonder, the likes of which I could only hope to capture by being in your mere presence.”
Zevlor gently cupped Tav’s cheek in the palm of his hand as he bent his forehead to hers and rested it gently. Tav relaxed and moved a hand to his waist, sniffling gently as she tried to keep her composure.
“I am no poet, but I feel as though I have a poet’s heart since meeting you. You are all of the beauty in this world, Tav, and I have been far away for far too long. Please, before I lose all of my nerve-”
Zevlor bent his head further and brushed his lips to hers, carefully, just barely, in askance. She moved forward a step, leaning into his frame, his armor firm beneath her body. Her lips parted delicately, her breath soft against his cheek. Tav tentatively brushed her lips back against his, savoring the heat from the Hellrider’s touch. He firmly pressed his mouth to hers, drawing her as close as he could into his arms. Tav dropped her bag on the ground and brought her hands to Zevlor’s face, cupping his jaw between her fingers and holding him close to her.
He sighed and pulled back briefly, his burning eyes boring into hers. “I have wanted to do that since you knocked Aradin out cold,” he chuckled, brushing hair away from her face.
Tav smiled up at him, arms around his neck. “Please, do not let it be the last.”

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
The Flash
The precise circumstances of the incident in which Wally West gained his powers have never been fully revealed. It appears that he was the victim of a freak accident during which lightning struck a rack of chemicals in a laboratory. Somehow, this combination endowed Wally with the fantastic speed powers for which he would become renowned.
Adopting the costumed identity of the Flash, Wally fought to protect the people of Central City from various threats, particularly those of the costumed criminal variety.  Hugely popular in Central City, Flash participated in a charity race against Superman to determine the ‘world’s fastest man.’  The victor of this competition was never determined as Superman and The Flash were sidetracked so to tend to the threat of the villainous Weather Wizard.
Some time thereafter, The Flash was telepathically contacted by J’onn J’onzz to come together with other heroes so to defeat the dire threat of the alien Imperium.  Following the defeat of these invaders, The Flash and the others chose to remain a team and together they formed The Justice League.
The Flash continued on as a part of the League throughout its various iterations, proving an invaluable asset in near countless adventures.  With his super speed, The Flash was able to act as a member of the League whilst splitting his time still protecting his beloved Central City.
Actor Michael Rosenbaum provided the voice for The Flash with the scarlet speedster first appearing in the fourth episode of the second season of Superman: The Animated Series, ‘Speed Demons.’

I think I love the new weather event so much because it feeds directly into my headcanon that the farmer themself has inherent magical power.
Like, the rain is green, the haze filling the air is green, the satellites are down, and quite literally overnight, the flora of Pelican Town explodes in lush glory. The residents are confused, some afraid. Even the older folks who have lived in town their whole lives are clueless. The only people who Do have any idea whats happening are the wizard in the woods, and the wild man on the mountain, who himself is not magical but treats magic itself as a beloved neighbor or friend.
This had never happened before the Farmer came to the valley.

Christmas Torch Aloft
Season of dream haze and arctic signpost.
Chill and chap brood whose scattered offspring plummet thermal values as welcome mat for “whiskered” chimney guest awash with bounty.
Thief of sun filled days without a twinge but that universal late December rendezvous can’t be thrust off-course.
Primal raw wind howl dissing summer’s distant memory - spotty and erratic though it was.
Deck chair, seat of toil free bliss now cold front recess blob.
Mirage or wishful thinking from a wet weather veteran.
We live in fear of reruns like Ophelia or
2010’s black ice.
Storm Force Brian, Mount Fuji on an airwave shrapnel carrier.
Dormant Loch Ness shadow’s fervent air mass plugging festive tunes.
To fuel dispatch and chimney sweep alike a sacred windfall.
For those who struggle just another inroad on an ever
shrinking pocket.
Yet this annual curtain closer has its grail and saving grace.
Dark art charmer lacing every patch for knee high boot crunch.
Architect of igloo closet ski cap.
Sleigh ride bell upon that maligned feast around our globe (Noel hark the alpine carol)!
Bizarre but only to us frostbite souls aloof from glacial beauty.
Deep freeze spirit canvass may not surface.
Christmas anthems booming over frolic footfall streets adorned by night owls.
Chaser lights that gee up gutted ghost town black spot.
Urban ice rink dome another fantasy or wonderland.
Toy shop stock n trade whose only trade is stock.
Colour coded gadget clutching every cell of window space.
Fashion fodder wizards magic spark a toddler’s glee at every turn.
Boisterous strains of Santa rousing inner reindeers - the sort beloved by children down the ages.
Yuletide decor gift band holly bush spike.
Log tossed on fire, kindling stick incendiary, leaping flame enshrouds smokeless polish.
Skim milk skyline flaunts its snow fleck jewellery aloft.
Stars of astral compass spread their twinkle dash on human garlands.
Winter’s stepwise edging in a whirl plume of slush.
Christmas well and truly has arrived.

Day Four: Delirium
Juvia walked into the guild hall with a delighted smile on her face. She was humming, and there was a pep in her step, as she walked up to the bar to speak with Mirajane before making her way around the counter toward the kitchen. Cana took a swig from her bottle of wine and lifted a brow, watching as her blue-haired friend disappeared into the kitchen.
“What’s got Juvia so chipper? The weather’s shit today?” she asked.
Gajeel and Levy sat across from her, and they glanced at one another before Levy spoke. “Apparently Gray has a pretty bad fever. He’s in the infirmary now.”
That left Cana with more questions than answers. She knit her brows together in confusion. “Then why the hell does she look so happy? Normally, Juvia would be freaking out about something like that. ‘My beloved this, my beloved that.’”
Levy clicked her tongue to the roof of her mouth and set down the book she had been reading. “She was at first,” she told Cana. “But apparently Gray is so delirious that he’s become really clingy and needy. Porlyusica checked him out and said he would be fine after some rest.”
Gajeel nodded with an eyeroll. “I went in there earlier and ice boy had his arms around Juvia’s waist, crying for her not to leave. It was pretty gross.”
Cana smirked. “I would have loved to have seen that! Damn, Juvia’s gotta be in heaven right about now.” She slapped the table and took another drink of her wine. A crying, whiney Gray Fullbuster sounded like a sight to behold. If Natsu was around to see it, he would never let the ice wizard live it down.
“I wouldn’t go in there,” Levy urged.
“Why not?” asked Cana.
“You know how Juvia gets about Gray. She was ready to take our heads off when we were in there earlier. She doesn’t want anyone but herself to see Gray in such a vulnerable state. We might fall in love with him.”
Juvia’s obsession with Gray was wild, and so was the way she convinced herself that everyone else was in love with him too. Cana honestly found it a little impressive. She set her bottle down on the table and sighed, leaning back into the bench. “Damn. There’s no way I’m risking my life by fighting Juvia, but I would have loved to seen Gray being a crybaby. Does an ice wizard cry frozen tears?”
She laughed.
“Did someone say Gray?”
Cana jumped, surprised to see Juvia standing behind her with a tray full of food. All three of them shook their heads. “Nope. No one was talking about Gray here.”
“Strange,” muttered Juvia. “I could have sworn I heard my beloved’s name.” She pursed her lips. “Well then, I best get back to him. I can’t certainly serve him cold food.”
Juvia turned away to head for the infirmary and Cana let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me she was there?”
Gajeel and Levy shared a glance. “She came out of nowhere,” said Levy. “I never saw her coming.”
“Me neither,” said Gajeel.

RWBY: Grim Tales
Undead Boyfriend
Glynda stared at her poster of Ozma in her office and sighed dreamily. Ozma was the wizard heartthrob of every witch and wizard's dream. Beautiful brown eyes, short, spiky black hair and a luscious green robe. Unfortunately, he was taken far too soon. The Dark Witch, Salem, had killed him and buried him deep within Remnant. Glynda had spent years perfecting a spell in order to resurrect him.
Glynda: The weather is perfect! Lightning should provide me with the energy I need. *pushes her cauldron to the center* Okay, time to perfect the brew.
Glynda gathered her ingridients and started making the potion. The first was water from the Domain of Light, next was the venom of a King Taijitu, then came the scarf of Ozma and finally was the ruby of resurrection. Pulling a switch from one of the walls, the skyline opened and lightning struck the cauldron.
Glynda: Yes! YES!!!! It's alive! IT'S ALIIIIIIVE!!!
Emerging from the cauldron was a tall man, wrapped in soaking bandages. He had silver-grey hair and emerald green eyes. He coughed a little before being embraced by Glynda.
Glynda: Oh my darling... Ozma? *breaks hug* Wait who are you?
Ozma: I'm Ozma. Ozma the Invincible? *smirks* Surely you've heard of me?
Glynda: B-But you're supposed to look like this! *shows poster*
Ozma: Of course I look like- *sees mirror behind Glynda* Wait a minute... *walks to mirror and jumps* what the hell happened to face?! What the hell happened my body?! *turns to Glynda* What did you do?!
Glynda: I did exactly as the book said! I made a potion designed to resurrect you. I even found a ruby of resurrection.
Ozma: Umm... there's no such thing as a ruby of resurrection. But there is a ruby of reincarnation, however.
Glynda: Uh... what's the difference?
Ozma: If I was resurrected, I'd be reborn in my old body. But because of the spell, my soul was placed in a completely new body.
Glynda: *slumps to the floor* Aw man! I messed up!
Ozma: So what brought this on? Why did you want me to walk upon Remnant again?
Glynda: *sighs* I... really wanted a handsome wizard boyfriend.
Ozma: Oh? *smiles* That sounds nice!
Glynda: Hm? You're not mad?
Ozma: Of course not! Being so beloved that a beautiful witch would want to revive me? I'm absolutely flattered. I'd love to be your boyfriend.
Glynda: *blushes and smiles* O-Okay!
Ozma: From this day forward, I vow to be the best boyfriend ever! *kisses Glynda*
Glynda: *kisses him back* Mmmm~ This is going to be the start of something wonderful~

the generator gave me...
16. a kiss in the rain.
The cat sits in the doorway to the balcony, eyes wide and looking upwards. Its gentle chirping is no match of course for the rumbling skies above. It begins pacing, slender legs buried in tufts of dark fur that stands on end with a flicking tail that drags along behind it; It's a rather large animal, taking up the majority of the doorway with each step and as it reaches one end it turns on its heels, carving figure-eights into the ground with outstretched claws.
Its ears perk at the footsteps that approach, but rather than turning it simply stops pacing, one paw still suspended, and through sharpened teeth it produces a low growl at the imminent weather.
"Yes, it does look like rain," the arms that lift him are sudden, "You were quite on edge earlier, I was wondering why."
In that moment, the clouds thunder again, and the noise of drizzle on the tower's walls echoes between them.
The feline mewls, batting at the air before wriggling its way around in the wizard's grasp and stretching, a low hiss escaping from it before he sighs and drops it down, where it lands with a gentle thud, followed by the patter of nails against the floor as it darts back to the doorway. He turns slowly, until he sees the tall, slender limbs of elven descent reached with one arm outstretched to the outside.
"I hate the rain," Ídrhil states simply. He was not acclimated to the climates outside of Valinórë, and at this point he suspected he might never be. Rarely was the weather in his homeland anything less than sunny, perhaps a day of overcast but not ever much of anything beyond that in the harvest season.
"It's not so terrible."
The druid huffs. Maybe he could stand the rain, but what truly bothered him was the heat, the sticky sort of air that clung his clothes to his skin, that forced him each night to peel his shirt from his back or his armor from his body with heaving breaths, that stuck his hair to his forehead and caused his nose to run.
He feels the same hand that lifted him earlier now on his back, easing him forward slightly. He takes a weary step forward out onto the balcony and for a moment remains dry, but soon is nearly soaked. With a yelp, he backpedals, but finds himself colliding with the other man -- one who laughs, and steadies his beloved.
"It is terrible! Now move, Saruman, or else I will move you."
An empty threat, that much both of them knew. When the wizard simply looks down at him, half a smile on his face, Ídrhil sighs in defeat, and resigns to looking out over Isengard from the tower, leaned back against the other.
"Do you remember the day we met again?"
"Of course," Ídrhil feels the low rumble of a response against his back.
"It was a day much like this one, if memory serves."
"It was," Saruman pauses, "And you had just as much of a fit over the rain then as you are now."
"I don't remember it that way."
"In part, I hope, because my solution was to distract you."
"Oh?" Ídrhil cocks his head, glancing back.
But wiry fingers catch his chin, bodies winding around until they face each other once more, the rain dampening their clothes and each their hair. Ídrhil's breath catches in his throat for but a moment before chapped lips press against his own. His eyes flutter closed, hands grasping at the pale fabric of his lover's robes, but he still leans into the kiss, a rare affection anymore.
The elf grins before he even pulls away, chuckling softly, "Ah. I do remember that."
Saruman shifts his weight, giving the other more than enough space to return to the tower interior, but Ídrhil does not take it. Instead, he scowls at the arrogant smirk the Istari wears as he gazes downwards at him.
"Perhaps your hatred of the rain is misplaced."
"No," Ídrhil still holds a fistful of fabric, though he moves away just enough to speak, "I still dislike it. I just find being in it if I have your company to be...a tolerable alternative."

Characters: drowtav (Wendolyn) x Gale
A bit of a longer snippet from my current holiday fic...which ended up becoming less fluff and more smut as it went on. Oops.
__________________
When she eventually caught sight of the tower she was now getting used to calling home, her frigid lips formed a smile under her scarf. Already she could envision melting the stiffness of her hands over the fire, around a warm mug of tea, and a shiver raced through her. Half anticipation and half genuinely just cold from a sudden gust of wind. One that followed her through the front door as she entered and sent any nearby drapery fluttering before she could manage to close it. However, it also managed to throw a certain awaiting tressym off-kilter, forcing her to right herself before shaking off the snow that had slipped inside in the process.
“My apologies, Tara.” Wendolyn’s words were muffled as she began to unwind the scarf from her head, resting flakes dissolving in the newfound heat of the wizard’s tower. “The wind’s seems to have picked up on my way here. I assume Gale was held late.”
Had he been home, he would have been the first to greet her, eager to aid her in divesting herself of the various outer layers of winter wear. Eager to deliver a kiss to warm her frigid lips and snake his arms around her waist. The thought brought a bloom of blushing heat to her cheeks, which yet bore the remnants of glitter powder from dress rehearsal. Part of her sometimes thought she should be used to it by now, accepted every touch and physical token of affection with the nonchalance of familiarity. But a thrill still thrummed through her when he touched her, like a plucked string deep in the essence of her being. It made her wonder if perhaps their first night of intimacy in the Shadow-Cursed Lands had done something to her-or somewhat more accurately, them-to create some instinctive pull, some deep visceral bond of Weave-borne passions that connected them to a whole new degree of intimacy. Or, as her sisters liked to tease her, she had finally found someone capable of awakening the true extent of her bardic nature. Such was also entirely possible.
“That would be correct, Ms. Gallaer,” the tressym replied in that prim manner that reminded Wendolyn of a distinguished grandmother, like the aged matriarchs of the more influential houses in the Dancer’s Steps. “Mr. Dekarios unfortunately was held up evaluating exams. Finals and all that, my dear. He sends his apologies, as well as his love, in equal measure.”
Wendolyn heaved a sigh as she hefted her violin onto a nearby table, shaking her head. “I keep telling him he can simply do it here.”
As the bard freed her feet from her boots, Tara followed, bright eyes examining the case which held the beloved instrument that had been with her through everything (with minimal damage that had thankfully been repaired before they had departed Baldur’s Gate). Wood did not take well to the changing weather, ever shrinking from the cold and expanding to soak in the heat when it was available. It had only taken one complaint as Wendolyn had tuned it for the fourth time one day for Gale to decide to enchant the case so that it maintained a consistent temperature. She had said it was a thoughtful gift, to which he had responded with an enigmatic smile, leaving with the distinct suspicion that he was not counting it towards her gifts for the upcoming holidays.
“Oh, you know he refuses to bring his work home with him. Indeed, I highly doubt he would get any of it done. It would be endless stacks of papers cluttering the house. And it did take so long to organize the place properly upon your return.”
Yes, Wendolyn remembered that. Accommodating the place for two had taken some time and they were still ironing out some of the more elusive details. Mostly the graceful cohesion of differing, if mostly complimentary, tastes with regards to decoration. Even so, it took time for even a quietly shifting environment to settle and new routines to take root. These days her music stand and the various documents that shuffled across it stood not far from where Gale usually took up residence in the living room. To his credit, he never complained over her hitting a sour note and starting over (sometimes only to strike said sour note once again). Her things were not strewn throughout the tower almost as seamlessly as his own, and occasionally the stray speck of glitter that had strayed from her costumes or stage makeup gleamed in just the right light.
Tara, at some point, had elected to live with Gale’s mother since she had moved in. A move to give the new couple some privacy evidently, of which neither the tressym nor Morena had made any secrets. Considerate, of course, though such admissions did leave her somewhat put on the spot. Even moreso when Morena had then invited Wendolyn’s mother to move in with her until she found a place of her own. Still, Tara, ever a wizard’s familiar, popped in for various tasks, such as delivering the odd message.
“I don’t suppose he told you when he thought he would be home.” Wendolyn yawned as she thrust her hands before the hearth, feeling as though an unseen layer of frost yet coated her skin as she thrust her hands over the fire crackling in the hearth. She tried and failed to suppress a shiver.
A weight of fur and feathers found itself at her shoulder, soft as swan down against her cheek.
“The likely estimate would be an hour and a half from now,” answered Tara as she pressed the tip of a wet cat’s nose to her temple, a fresh pinprick of cold against her icy flesh. Wendolyn had initially believed Gale to be over exaggerating when he said the tressym would love her, but Tara had quickly seemed to adopt her as another “pet”, addressing her with as much dignified candor as she did Gale. “Although, Mr. Dekarios could perhaps be motivated towards greater efficiency should I bring word of your eagerness to see him. The two of you have been afforded precious little time recently.”
“That we have,” agreed Wendolyn with a frown, then she tried to rub some warmth back into her stiff hands. The hand that had ferried her instrument all the way back had regained a fraction of flexibility and uncurled a little easier.
Those first months in Waterdeep had been both restful and frenzied. Those first few weeks had been almost a blur, eager to embrace their newfound freedom and take advantage of the sudden lack of duties, the lack of death and destruction hanging over their heads. What days that had not been filled by Gale showing her the splendors of the city had been spent enjoying each other's company in the tower. Then in addition to the gaining traction of their wedding plans Gale had been offered a teaching position at Blackstaff Academy and Wendolyn had found herself in the thick of the theater scene. Circumstances that had left them both busy as winter had drawn near. The fall term was coming to a close and thus projects were hastily thrown together, students implored their professors for more time during their office hours and then prepared themselves with skipped meals and sleepless nights to study for exams. Meanwhile, plays and performances took on a whole new fervor as they raced towards opening night. Wendolyn had fallen into a role that was half actress and half assistant director. Apparently leadership suited her well, whether it be among adventurers or actors. Rehearsal days had her racing out early in the morning, sometimes barely managing to so much as nibble something before taking her leave.
That very morning had seen her rushing so hopelessly, haphazardly grabbing her sheet music and veering dangerously close to tripping on the carpet, that she had accidentally kissed Gale’s mirror image on her way out the door. She hadn't the time to correct the mistake before running off lest she be late. Such a mishap was to be expected perhaps, when one lived with a wizard. Even so, Wendolyn had hoped to make up for it later that evening.
“Mr. Dekarios would also like to inquire as to whether you have eaten.” Tara proceeded to absentmindedly knead her shirt, mercifully keeping her claws sheathed so as not to ruin the purple brocaded wool.
Once satisfied with the fire’s progress on her hands, Wendolyn reached up to scratch the tressym behind the ears, eliciting a contented purr. “Oh, yes. I got dinner with the cast after rehearsal. So he needn’t worry about preparing me a feast as soon as he gets back.”
For several moments, Tara did not respond, all too happy to bask in the attention. For all that she might have been insulted by the insinuation of bearing similarities to a cat, she possessed all the same inclinations of one.
“Very good, Ms. Gallaer.” When she finally spoke, it was with a long stretch. “I shall inform him. Shall I also tell him to act with haste?”
At first, she opened her mouth to say she would appreciate the gesture only to stop herself. The cold of her trek outside yet sat deep in her bones, the flames having melted only the edges of the chill. It would likely be the same for Gale. Why not prepare something? Something to truly warm them up and wash away the burdens of the day. Besides, it was the least she could do for how he spoiled her day in and day out. Her lips curved into a smile. ile.
“No, that should be fine.”
Tara gave a dainty nod. “Of course, Ms. Gallaer. Oh, and Mrs. Dekarios and your mother wish to meet with you tomorrow.”
“For what reason?”
“Because neither have seen you nor Mr. Dekarios in weeks and they are in possession of certain questions regarding the marriage of some rather specific cultural customs.”
Oh, sweet Eilistraee, she did sincerely hope her mother wasn’t trying to arrange a High Hunt in the middle of a city. Surely she had yet to seek out enough followers of the Silver Dancer to organize something like that. Nevermind that there were fewer great beasts to stalk along the Sword Coast than in the Underdark. Good gods, would she attempt to rope Morena into it as well? Wendolyn had the benefit of having inhabited the surface a good deal more years, and as such, had a somewhat better understanding of the fact that not every woman of the humanoid races was a trained warrior than her mother and sisters did.
“Tell them I’ll meet them tomorrow around noon,” she sighed, ears pricking when she heard the approach of nails clicking against hardwood down the stairs, the soft far-off jingle of a collar. “And thank you, Tara.”
“My pleasure, darling.”
The tressym gave her one last affectionate nuzzle that pressed against her cheekbone, her ear, grazing the pointed tip, before alighting and taking her leave through the nearest open window. Which Wendolyn then shut just as the trail of clacking nails came to a stop, ending in the wide yawn that squealed like an old door’s rusty hinges the likes of which only canines were capable. When the bard turned her attention back to the room, she saw Scratch’s body bowed in a long stretch at the foot of the stairs. It was strange, how satisfying a sight it was to watch a dog ease the tension from its body.
