I'm in pain right now, and it's your fault. I'm reading Rose Drops, which is amazing, but I'm four chapters in and already on the verge of tears...

Anyways, I was wondering how you get inspiration for these fics? I love how you write and I just can't go without knowing the source of these wonderful ideas.

Lol sorry about that; honestly that's what I was hoping for though! Since that happens so early in the story, I wanted to show that that kind of thing happening isn't always 'the end' of a tale. It can lead to so much more.

As for inspiration....hm. Well, I've always been a storyteller; I used to make tons of comics in highschool and college, though I never showed them to anyone.

I can at the very least say that Rose Drops i wrote during a very difficult time in my life. I was homeless, couchsurfing, jobless, and my cat, who was my closest friend, died. there were so many things I was losing and leaving behind. Sonic has always been a comfort for me since I was a child, so I wrote a story about change and loss to cope with my own, and my hopes for a brighter future.

As for Blizzard Bedfellows, that one was a mix of talking to friends on Discord about Sonadow, and experimenting with the Boom universe for fun. Also i just really wanted to make a sonadow hibernation fic for the winter!

Equinox is sort of a mix of my fascination with vampires, werewolves, dark romance, blood and gore; stories I wrote a lot in highschool and are still fun. But I also thought Silver and Scourge would make an interesting dynamic and MAN do I enjoy writing them together. Equinox is a guilty pleasure in a way.

Lastly, Heavenly Bodies is from my Cardigan AU; where everyone is in their 30s-50s and just being cozy. I was inspired by Scragony's 'Vampire Husband' on webtoons. A comic about an immortal vampire and his elderly human wife. A very cute and cozy story. Sonic and Shadow kind of mimic that; an immortal hedgehog and his crunchy husband lol.

I have another idea mulling around in my head from a dream I had, which im tentatively calling Fractured AU. though nothing is concrete yet. Essentially Sonic Shadow and Silver go missing, and pieces of their personalities are copied and split and/or fused into sentient beings. Amy and the others try to find all the copies to solve the mystery of the hedgehog's disappearances.

And a Host Club AU that I made 2 years ago, thay is REALLY not put together beyond a rough draft lmao (it was originally a template for a Silver/Scourge fic, but I ended up going the Werehog route and made Equinox) the host club AU is technically centered around BlazeAmy, Sonilver, and Scourge/Vanilla, among other ships I like...but its so rough, man. I dont even talk about it because its not a full idea lol

In any case, im rambling, but I thought id that the opportunity to talk about all my ideas since you asked! It also gives a rough frame of things im working on for the future too. I hope you have fun reading Rose Drops! ^.^

I decided between one thing and the other, it was time to make a new version of my “what could you reasonably expect from this blog” post. Since it’s my birthday, here it is!

General stuff

-Anon is open, for now; don’t abuse it, and follow the usual “don’t be an asshole” guideliness. I don’t post anon hate (unless I think it would be really funny of me to do so), so I suggest you don’t bother sending it.

-I block at the drop of a hat. The main reasons are usually bigotry and conservative rhetoric, general assholery (especially on the tags I track), and noticing someone blocked me first (I don't want you to reblog my posts if I can't reply to you or even see anything you add to them).

-In my pinned posts you can see a few links of interest (this post, my edits or fics, my author newsletter, etc.).

-I add image descriptions to everything in my blog (for my original posts, I usually use alt text). Feel free to send me an ask if I ever miss anything.

-I’m an Opinionated Person and I sometimes post negativity™ just for the sake of bitching (which I consider different from general, grounded criticism and the like). It’s all tagged with “bitter lau tag”, and “antiX for ts” tags, X being a fandom/character/ship. I.e. “antidelena for ts”; “antidamonsalvatore for ts”. That way it doesn't appear on main searches for those things. In general, I’m an exhaustive tagger, so filtering anything shouldn’t be a problem; and of course, you can always ask me to tag something specific I might've missed in order to filter it.

Fandoms

I’m very multifandom, but I'm prone to have one or two hyperfixations at the forefront. Sometimes they're new favourites, but more often than not they're old favourites that get their claws back on me.

-Main fandoms:

DCU. My interests in this very large fandom are diversified, but my entry point of obsession is often Jason Todd in particular and the Bat Cult Clan in general. Add some Young Justice, Gotham, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, the early DCEU, various female characters of dubious moral qualities, multiple teamups and adaptations and elseworlds… I always return to this world, basically. My primary area interest is the post-crisis/new earth comics continuity, but I dabble in many others.

MCU-SPECIFIC

Verse: After the Equinox Mainverse, canon-divergent: ignores everything after Endgame. Bucky has mostly recovered his sense of self, though he still has his bad days and some of the conditioning he went through will probably never fully fade. He’s not a part of the Avengers, but he does lend a hand when asked; right now he’s just trying to find his own way.

Verse: Infinite Eclipse canon divergent, ignores everything after Infinity War. After Thanos’s victory, Bucky is left to try and help pick up the pieces of a devastated Earth.

Verse: The Coming Spring post-TWS. Winter is off the grid, avoiding recognition, and searching for answers.

Verse: Deepest Winter Zimniy Soldat. Pre-movies During his days with the Soviets and Hydra, the Soldier is their best asset, little more than a ghost story, and one of the deadliest assassins in the world.

Verse: As Autumn Turns WWII, before his fall from Zola’s train. Sergeant Barnes is an outstanding soldier on his own, an incredible sniper, and a much-welcome addition to the Howling Commandos when they’re formed by Captain America.

Verse: Summer Gone By Pre-war New York. Bucky Barnes seems to spend a good portion of his life trying - and often failing - to keep Steve Rogers out of trouble.

COMICS/AU VERSES

Verse: Solstice Shielded MCU BuckyCap. Bucky Barnes has taken up the shield in place of Steve Rogers and become Captain America. Whether this is a good or bad thing remains to be seen. More Info Here.

Verse: Midwinter’s Turning Winter Soldier AU 1991. The Winter Soldier has gone rogue after his final mission, the assassination of Howard and Maria Stark. Hunted by Hydra, with no idea as to his true identity, he is simply a ghost wandering the world seeking identity and purpose. More Info Here.

Verse: Winter’s Bite vampire!Bucky ‘Verse In creating the Winter Soldier and trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum for that purpose, Arnim Zola accidentally gave Hydra a vampiric assassin. So far they’ve been able to control him without undo effort, but it remains to be seen if that will last. More Info Here.

Verse: To Everything There Is A Season Generic Modern ‘Verse Bucky Barnes, circa now-ish. Possibilities include college student, Army sergeant, police officer, and just about anything else I can throw in here. Details in this post.

Crunchyroll just announced that they’re going to start making original programming exclusive to them, so I thought it’d be nice if I made a list of all the shows they’ve revealed so. All of these look pretty good, which is great since they’re all releasing sometime in 2020.

Tower of God - A young man will battle his way through a mysterious tower as he strives to find the only friend he's ever known. A Crunchyroll and WEBTOON production, based on the comic created by SIU.

Onyx Equinox - An Aztec boy is saved from death by the gods and forced to act as humanity’s champion and prove humanity’s potential.

The God of High School - A high schooler and his friends will compete in an epic tournament borrowing power directly from the gods and uncovering a mysterious organization along the way. Based on the comic by Yongje Park.

In/Spectre - Supernatural romance mixes with an enthralling, fantastical, mystery, as a duo sets out to solve a series of dark incidents plaguing their world. This one is actually already out; it was given the title of Crunchyroll Original when the concept was revealed.

FreakAngels - Twelve 23-year-old psychics, living in the rubble of London, must check their wild impulses,and discover their better angels to rebuild society after civilization comes to a sudden and crashing end.

High Guardian Spice - Four fierce girls train to become great heroes at High Guardian Academy, where they form allegiances, uncover betrayals, and discover their true identities while preparing to protect the world from an ominous unknown threat.

Crunchyroll has released a trailer highlighting eight original series of various genres.

In/Spectre, a Crunchyroll Original, mixes romance, mystery, and the supernatural.

Tower of God, from Crunchyroll and WEBTOON, is based on SIU and WEBTOON’s comic series “Tower of God.” The series follows a young man battling his way through the Tower as he searches for the only friend he’s ever known.

Crunchyroll Unveils First Slate of Crunchyroll Originals

For a while now, Crunchyroll has streamed anime for fans to enjoy. Now, the streaming service has revealed their first set of Crunchyroll Originals for fans to enjoy. These new anime series look pretty promising and I’m excited to see where they go from here. One really cool thing is that a number of these titles started as comics on WEBTOON and are now getting the anime treatment.

My Thoughts on Creative Control in Movies

Hello guys!!!!

It is I, yours truly!!!!

Today I am going over a controversial topic when it comes to the movie industry, and that is . . . creative control.

When it comes to creative control, it is rare in Hollywood for a director to make a movie that HE or SHE wants to make.

Because in the Hollywood movie industry today, it is always about franchises.

Sequels, reboots/remakes, and adaptations. That is what Hollywood is all about.

And when it comes to film directors working in Hollywood, they rarely get control . . . ever!!!

Directors in the film industry want to make films because they love movies, and they want to display their unique styles for moviegoers to see!!!

But yet again, directors have very little control of the movies they are suppose to make!!! So little control that the movie that they are “making” is far different from what he or she has envisioned it to be.

Recently, it has been confirmed that filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of “The Lego Movie” and “21 Jump Street” have been fired from the untitled Han Solo movie.

And then Kathleen Kennedy, the head of Lucasfilm,

immediately hired Academy Award winning director, Ron Howard.

To me, this is bullshit.

It makes little to no sense.

According to many online sources from movie related websites, Phil and Chris have been making the movie for four months, with three weeks left in production! So Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan, the writer of the spinoff movie, had “creative differences” with the two directors. Then Kathleen made a statement about how her and the directors had creative differences for the spinoff.

So even though she hired them to make the movie and it has been four months into production . . . NOW SHE DECIDES TO FIRE THEM?!

Like, when a studio exec or producer hires a director or directors, that should mean that the directors make the movie! But if the exec does not like it, he or she fires the directors?!

It’s just a very harsh truth in the movie industry today!

If you, a producer, hire a director to make THEIR movie, then let them show their talent for the whole world to see!!!

So instead of taking risks and letting independent filmmakers shine, you just take over!!!

Some examples also include Ryan Reynolds, who stars as Deadpool and the producer of it, firing director Tim Miller over creative differences!

Also from the upcoming Flash movie, where Warner Brothers fired two directors, Seth Grahame Smith and Rick Famuyiwa over the same thing!

An example of a successful franchise that gives control to directors is Marvel Studios!

I believe that Marvel is doing great because they are hiring not so well known directors making these big comic book movies and the directors showcase their styles!

James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2 showcases his love of music and science fiction while also developing outsiders and rejects in his films!

Ryan Coogler, the director of “Fruitvale Station” and “Creed” is making the upcoming Black Panther movie!! He is known for directing character driven dramas focusing on black people! And I think he will showcase that in that upcoming movie!!

And Joss Whedon, creator of “Firefly” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” directed the first two Avengers movie! He is known for showcasing strong female characters and also is known for his quirky dialogue and direction!

But, if there is a director with too much control, the movie might be bad or mediocre at best!

Michael Bay and George Lucas are notable examples!

Michael Bay with his Transformers movies, are exactly the same!!! (They are a guilty pleasure of mine, but I am talking about the general consensus of those movies!!!)

Michael Bay’s movies make a shit ton of money!!! So studios like Paramount give him complete control on the Transformers movies!

And he was given so much control that no one stepped in to fix the problems that the movie has!

And with George Lucas, back when he made the original Star Wars trilogy, he was given some control, but not complete control.

But the 1977 Star Wars movie made a shit ton of money and in 1999, when doing the prequels, he had so much control!

No one stepped in to tell Lucas that his decisions for the prequels make no sense!!

So really, what is my final verdict?

I think that creative people should be given control, but have them surrounded by people that step in when things go wrong with the film!

Creative people, whether musicians, artists, comic book writers, filmmakers, etc., should have control of THEIR project! But not too much control, there should be a person or two that will step in and fixes things when things go awry.

And cut! That is my take!
