You know, I used to think streamers who play old Super Nintendo games on ultra-widescreen monitors and stretch them out so that Link's ass is twice as wide as he is tall because it's "better that way" were the worst thing I'd ever seen, but I just ran into a streamer who plays modern "NES style" retro games that were explicitly designed for 16:9 displays and squashes them horizontally to the NES's native 16:15 because it's "more authentic", and I 100% take it back.

thinking abt izuku being flustered and shocked when he stumbles upon your self insert smut open on your ultra wide monitor next to some anime you’re watching for ‘character research.’ he knew you wrote, but not this kind of writing. you walk back into your office and he’s frozen and red faced, trying to hide his half hard dick. you’re both apologizing, he’s leaving the room. but it's too late; your username is burned into his retinas and he has to know what you've been writing about. so he goes online and finds what you've been posting.

Ultra Wide Loading Screens (3440x1440) + new splash music
This might be a bit niche since I'd imagine most people play on a regular 16:9 monitor, but I don't. I play on a 21:9 (or 43:18) ultra wide monitor. And it kept bothering me that all the beautiful loading screens out there just do not look right with this aspect ratio.
So I made five ultra wide loading screens in Clean UI style:
This also comes with some new splash music because the Mansion & Garden one is boring. I find that The Sims 2 DS CAS music fits the franchise really well and just gets me excited to play, so I added that to the download.
Installation:
Loading Screen: The download comes with five loading screens. Pick only one of them and put it into the UI folder of the base game (for the Ultimate Collection, this is C:\Programs (86x)\EA Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\UI)
If you want to use multiple loading screens, use @greatcheesecakepersona's loading randomizer 2
Splash music: put the file into the sound folder of your latest EP or SP (TSData\Res\Sound) or use it with the Loading Randomizer

I have a new monitor and it's ultra wide and I struggle to find a good wallpaper for the size. So I need to bucke up and actually make one myself. Wish me luck haha.

Regis smiles through a sigh. He has seen it, he sees it, and he will see it. SZA’s people pass on the branded opportunity. Diplomats arm the oceans. Unilateral agreement on a new standard for data transmission, passed at midnight accords on the Friday before the longest weekend, portends a shift, a 25th hour in the day, which is what Regis focuses on, now (this very moment, the moment of awareness, past which there can be no return).

You do not need the extra hour, is not what he said, not exactly, but rather the general “gist” of the monologue he whispered into your soaking ears. The tide does not care about the boats, even the large ones. And lastly, about you. Regis, half a football field away, turns, smiles, waves, and hollers. “I am not golden. And you will never be golden, either” Regis shouts, “But, be honest, folks: who needs gold except dukes and microprocessors?”

(151 Follower Special!) Would A Pikachu Be A Good Pet?
(I just hit 151 followers! Thank you all so much for your support! I hope to continue making the blog better in the coming months, especially after I recover from this sickness. I figured there was no better way to mark the occasion than covering the main little guy themself! There's a whole lot of pokédex entries to look over, so I better get right to it!)
Tragically, I can't really recommend a pikachu to anyone but the most experienced electric-type pet owners! They're famous for being cute and friendly, and by all appearances they would be a great little buddy: they're are just the right size to be a good pet, which gets them some good points. They are known to be intelligent (Gold) and social, living in groups with other Pikachus in the forest (Diamond). But the electrocution risk is just plainly too high for me to comfortably recommend them. Pikachus passively generate electricity in their cheek pouches (Crystal), which they use to prepare food, protect themselves, etc. They don't seem to be able to control the electricity that they generate/gather, however, meaning that even the best trained Pikachu can cause you harm at any given moment.
If you come across a colony of Pikachus in the woods, I would recommend taking a wide berth, as groups of the pokémon can generate so much passive electricity that it can cause intense lightning storms (Red/Blue, Ultra Moon). Even a single Pikachu can cause lightning strikes: their tails, which they use to "monitor their surroundings", are natural lightning rods (Yellow, Silver). Pikachus generate electricity even as they sleep, which they often discharge accidentally when they wake up (Sapphire).
Pikachu's use the electricity they generate for controlled purposes as well, of course. For one, they use electric shocks to roast berries to eat (Gold). They aren't always the best at judging how much electricity to use on berries, and have been observed as blasting any new thing they come across with electricity in the same way they would food (Ruby). Pikachus use electric shocks to greet each other in the wild (Shield) and to help out other Pikachus that need a recharge for whatever reason (Black/White). Finally, Pikachus use the electricity they generate to defend themselves, giving them access to a decent selection of moves that pose an electrocution risk and inflict paralysis. You definitely don't want to get on a Pikachu's bad side.
The major issue with Pikachus is that even if you do your best to train your Pikachu to not attack you with their dangerous electric-type moves, they will need to discharge their passive electricity in some way. Pikachus get stressed when they are unable to fully discharge periodically (Moon). A stressed pet is an unpredictable pet. Certain emotional states can drive a Pikachu to recklessly discharge on a whim: when they are angry (Crystal) or wary (Pearl) they "immediately" release their electricity, shocking anything around them.
Caring for a Pikachu would require a keen attention to their need to discharge the electricity that they generate in their day-to-day life. You would need to constantly provide safe outlets (pun intended) for your Pikachu to comfortably discharge. One would need to be aware of the risk that their furry friend constantly presents, which something that only experienced electric-type trainers may be equipped to do. All this being said, I gotta be realistic. It's Pikachu. The main little guy! Even I would want a pet Pikachu! If they had a chance, I'd guess most people would go for it. Who could say no to that face?

If someone were to ever ask what radicalized me, I'm honestly unsure what I would say at this point.
Was it the moment my best friend of several years, who'd been by my side through /everything/, cut me off for my voting choice in 2016?
... Was it the moment I realized people were actively pushing sexuality onto children and into their education systems out of pure intellectual laziness and selfishness?
... Was it the moment I was deemed evil for my skin color?
... was it the moment I watched people around me use the LGB banner, which I was finally growing to accept in myself, to endorse mental illness and children's fantasy and to warp the laws of the world to that illness?
Was it the moment I realized they're mutilating our children and spinning them into mutilating themselves?
...or was it the moment I was labeled a domestic terrorist for standing against these things?
Was it the moment I watched my government turn and kill its civilians in real time rather than in a documentary or history book?
Was it the moment I watched my government turn its back on this nation's people, the moment I realized the economy has been manipulated into a death system?
The moment I watched my government and neighbors condemn everyone with a dissenting voice against forced injection with a substance they have ADMITTED was never a cure or treatment?
... Was it the moment I watched police officers arrest my brother and tell me they knew he didn't commit the crime, but that they'd gotten their confession anyway?
Was it the moment I watched a nation-wide outcry over pedophilia and sex trafficking be forgotten overnight?
The moment I watched the government call a fraud my president while they openly admitted to fraud and surrounded him with soldiers?
... Was it the moment I learned of all the crimes of the past, from MK-Ultra to fucking Waco and more?
The moment I watched the world make my husband the butt of its every joke and the target of its hatred, all for his sex?
The moment they pushed their narrative into every form of media until it became so obvious that I could no longer consume entertainment media enjoyably?
Was it the moment they destroyed my livelihood, my friendships, my prospects?
Or was it the moment they began flooding my nation with people who have begun to rampantly do just that to all of my neighbors?
Was it the moment I realized they intend to control all of our transactions and currency, or the moment I learned they monitor us in our own homes?
Was it the moment I realized they're restricting and sabotaging our food supply?
... When was I radicalized?
...I never was.
The rest of the world was radicalized against people like me.
...I am not the villain.
Still... I wonder whether that ever mattered, or ever will again.
