My Coding Certification Half-Sprint: Day 1/7...It Begins!
I have been seduced by learning once again!
I have one month access to an entire collection of video courses (a huge library). They come with CERTIFICATES!!!! This is both a dream and a nightmare for me. So many options is too many options! 😂😅
I want to learn it all...and I keep trying to do it! HELP!
I started out just casually looking for game design courses. Then I found UX, then UI...then a BUNCH of other things...
And now I have found coding. Something I didn't know I wanted, nay...needed!
I am going to try and record my goals for courses and understanding what I want and need next here... I am getting way too overwhelmed with all the options available. (help, I'm a baby in a candy shop!)
My goals for today:
Finish the "Career Essentials in Soft Dev" and take the test...it makes sense
At least 1 HTML course (2+ hours long each)
Finish the Accessibility course for UX (another 2hrs)
Stare down the CSS course so it gets intimidated and doesn't know that its beefy 5hrs is scary...(at least 5 mins, reapply as needed)
Finish the Figma video that I keep starting and get distracted in...poor video
Recheck job listings to make sure that the things I'm learning together make sense... "Can I sell the employee/freelancer that I'm building?" 😅😂🤣
I think that's plenty for today... If I do more I do more... I'm just finishing up the UX training and only starting the Dev stuff. 👀 wish me luck and uh...focus lol

A solid UX content strategy relies heavily on high-quality material. Without it, no matter how flawless the user experience, your content will fail to successfully serve your audience. Even if your website is technically excellent, it will fail to attract visitors unless it contains appealing content. information writers must emphasize creating valuable, easy-to-understand information that is also search engine optimized. This includes ensuring that the message meets brand standards and answers users' needs at various phases of their journey.
Overall, UX content strategy services ensure that information is delivered in a timely and effective manner.

Starting on a Course Creation Course
My journey so far started longer ago than I first thought. So the story so far: Over the summer I planned to do a music production course, which began to channel my thinking. I realised I needed a bit more time to prepare so postponed this idea. Then I was at a loose end. September 2023 – I attended Mel Larsen’s Turn Vision Into Reality call and found my way signing up to Masterclass to attend…

Week 7/31–8/6/22
Work Updates:
Wrapped up a project; thank f*ck! The senior designer started annoying me cause she made me present during an internal on the fly, which was right before a client presentation (that she also last-minute told me to present) while I was still working on the deliverable that was due then! So I had to pause my work, talk (my worst nightmare), and stress about not finishing the work on time.
Off-boarding was bittersweet tho; it was as if I was leaving the company. Got lots of sweet farewell messages lol, and sent out a goodbye note too.
And also onboarded into another project and I really like it so far! The team is really nice, and because we’re all kind of Clueless / the work is Ambiguous I feel Empowered to speak my thoughts and ask dumb questions lol.
The project entails working in ~design systems~, which is something I want to learn more about! We’re auditing some design libraries right now for the client, and I helped established an approach!
Also two leadership figures are leaving the company rip (well, one of them is the VP who declined my request for a merit-increase lmao so goodbye!), and the other one is actually a Cool Dude. Also stirred up a storm before exiting; called out leadership on not crediting historically marginalized creatives’ work and now leadership is Scrambling.
Honing-The-Craft™ Updates:
Mastering Figma: N/A
Learning ~Graphic Design~: Started an IG to create posters to practice 🤪
Working on presentation / public speaking skillz: Presented in an internal review and during a client presentation.

academic interests: engineering, computer engineering, ux/ui design, human computer interaction, design, ai, robotics, astrophysics i have degrees in history (focus is on american immigrant history), visual communication design (graphic design) and liberal arts.
i don't think i'll ever stop learning.
i hope that sharing my journey would help and inspire someone out there. ♡

Dev Diaries: Day 9- Setting a good base!
Dev Diaries, Masterlist
June 5, 2023
Okie dokie!
Today, my goal is to finish up the UX Prototyping course. It's a bit boring because I'm not planning on using these programs myself. I want a good understanding of the basics of most programs though. It's probably a ✨sparkle worry ✨ issue, but hey. I did see a lot of posts and content by UX designers saying that they wish they knew more programs. It makes sense to me, but I love learning. 😋
I'll probably get in a HMTL and/or CSS course today. I did the math...it's about 40+ hours of video time between the two courses. That's a lot. I want to make sure I really absorb it so I'm gonna take a bit longer. I don't plan on finishing them this week, that is for sure. I'm going for balance this month, no cramming! 😅😂
I am going to start my first portfolio project today!!! I don't know which one I'm gonna do yet, but I'm gonna do it! I'll probably find a challenge somewhere first, maybe. Even if it doesn't make it to my portfolio, it will be good practice. I have a project of sorts that I was working on, but I'm not sure it would work for this. It will take awhile to get done though, so I'll be doing it along with the other projects.
The AI got to me!
So, you know how I said I was gonna get seduced by the AI dev classes... They found me, and I think I'm a goner. 😋😁 I wanna take courses that discuss it but don't cover any coding yet. Like I said yesterday, I need to know what it's gonna do before I learn how.
I'm also looking at Learning Experience Design. This is something I've always been interested. Might as well take a course on it while it's available. Try it on for size, if you will...
P.S. I'm not sure I like having a list of things I'm "supposed" to do each day. I have tried it a couple times and it feels like a demand (no bueno) and I have more fun when it's just written about instead...😊
I have a list of things I wanna get done eventually and that tend to work better. Making a daily list just adds too much to do. Little lists tend to turn into big lists no matter what I do. If I make something bite size, I just take bigger bites...
Here's to code snacking! 😂🥰

I was just on your site and I have to say that I LOVE the quick escape bar at the top! It's such a smart idea, especially because someone who grabbed your phone/laptop wouldn't be able to hit 'back' and find queer stuff. (I mean, it also made me very sad for a moment that that kind of thing is necessary, but I'm super glad that y'all thought of it and implemented it so more people in shitty situations can connect!) <3
hi, hello! thank you!
yes, when we were building our website that was one of the first things we asked for (from this queer UX designer). we wanted to account for all queer people at any point in their life/journey. Especially as we’re also serving folks nationwide, not just in queer urban epicenters.

Sights of Eorzea Alpha is live!
Fellow sightseers, we are thrilled to announce the alpha version of the Sights of Eorzea website, a tool to help us explore and share the breathtaking landscapes of our beloved Etheirys!
Sync with the Sights of Eorzea Discord Server
The site seamlessly integrates with our Discord server, where you can share discoveries and chat with fellow adventurers! Posts to our gpose-locations forum will be synced and available on the public website; no Discord sign-in is required!
Tag Search
Searching for that special place just got a whole lot easier! Whether finding gorgeous nooks and crannies within instances or uncovering those mesmerizing Open World shots, the tagging system got your back.
By creating a forum post with the in-game <pos> information, the tag engine accurately determines the associated zone, patch, and expansion - making it much easier to look for that perfect location!
You can also add search tags to your post to help fellow adventurers locate specific features, like grass, wood-floor or stone-building:
Tumblr media
Or search for Photo Studios by Data Center, Server, and Location - and even publish your own!
Tumblr media
Known Issues
Keep in mind that this is a very early alpha release!
Our gallery tiling has a few missing spots, where we plan to feature captivating callouts that showcase tag combinations like Studios, Instances, and Hidden Places, to name a few.
Occasionally, some scenes may have their locations mistagged. We'll get that fixed Soon™!
Most of the UX work up to this point was focused on a functional desktop experience. We'll be tackling mobile next!
Caching large images is hard, and we're still fine-tuning it. You may experience some lag because of that, but rest assured we'll be working on optimization.
Future Plans
This is only the beginning of our journey; our plans include synchronizing other sections of the server, like Guides, Community resources (including Preset Collections and Tools), and eventually the Gallery itself - so public, non-Discord users can enjoy everything our community put together.
Improving navigation and stability is next on our list. We understand that this alpha release will inevitably encounter bugs and downtime; we'll be working on stabilization next.
I hope you enjoy what we made so far; suggestions and comments are more than welcome!
Oh, I almost forgot! Here's the link to the Test version: https://test.sightsofeorzea.com/
And with that - happy exploring!

(P.S. - If you made it to the end of this post, you might as well join our discord server!)

Navigating Through Space: Personal and Cosmic Updates
Hello my Stellar Supporters,
I hope this message finds you well, or at least, stargazing into the heavens with hope and curiosity. It's been a while since we last touched base, and I want to address this prolonged silence.
Over the last few months, my journey has taken a detour through a darker part of the cosmos. I've been grappling with depression, which has created a cloud of cosmic dust that's made it difficult to see the stars, let alone draw them. My mental health has always been a nebulous territory, and the gravitational pull got a bit stronger after I was laid off in November 2022. This event was like a supernova explosion, adding more confusion and gloom to my personal galaxy.
However, just as the Universe never ceases its inexorable expansion, I've been taking steps towards recovery, navigating my way out of this nebula. It's been a slow, incremental journey, but I've decided to redirect this energy into a new mission: a return to the academic world.
Yes, you've read that right. I've embarked on a course to acquire my Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts, with a specific focus on Web Design. This decision, which has the weight of a pulsar, came from a profound realization: to reignite my passion for exploring and creating, I needed a new kind of star map, one drawn from the insights and challenges of academic pursuit.
So, what does this mean for our beloved cosmic ship, Cosmic Funnies?
Our shared adventure into the realm of humor and cosmic wonders is evolving! Like a nebula birthing a star, Cosmic Funnies is transforming into an exciting new entity: an educational platform dedicated to space and the wonders it holds.
But don't worry! Just like dark matter binds galaxies together, humor and fun will still be the heart of Cosmic Funnies. Our beloved webcomics will be more integrated and central than ever as a part of the educational content. This decision, an outcome of my UI UX Design class, aims to combine learning and laughter in the best possible way.
In this new universe of Cosmic Funnies, students, educators, and space enthusiasts can gather to explore, laugh, and learn. Together, we will make learning about space a truly immersive and enjoyable experience.
For all you cosmic shoppers, our online store will continue to operate but will set up its own celestial body, separate from the main site. The primary mission of Cosmic Funnies will always be to educate, inspire, and bring a smile to your face with the beauty and mystery of our universe.
Navigating through uncharted galaxies can be intimidating. But armed with optimism and your support, I am excited about this new chapter of Cosmic Funnies. As we prepare for this new journey, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your unwavering support during this challenging time. Your patience and understanding have been like constellations guiding me through the dark.
Please keep your spacesuits ready and your minds open for the knowledge that is to come. Until then, remember to always look up, for the universe is full of Cosmic Funnies waiting to be discovered!
In the cosmos,
Jackie
