You know what makes me sit in silence everytime i think about it?
The fact that Andrew was attracted to every version of Neil.
He thought he was hot when he still had his brown eyes/brown hair
He thought he was hot when he had blue eyes/brown hair
He thought he was hot when he had blue eyes/auburn hair and the number 4 tattooed under his eye. ”you are a pipe dream“ , he said, looking at Neils bruised and most honest self.
Then Baltimore. Neil got tortured. Got bruised all over his skin, scars that’ll never be forgotten and what does Andrew do? He asks yes or no and kisses his hip.
It sure af wasn’t love at first sight but the fact that his initial attraction never faded gives you a hint about what Neil is for Andrew.
(Not to mention how the versions of Neil changed the more Andrew learned about Neil as well. First he was Neil. Then he was Abram. Then he was Nathaniel. Until he finally became Neil Abram Josten.
All the lies. All the truths. It all came together and Andrew was there during all of it).
and if I start talking about Neil falling for Andrew the more he learned about him and the role he took over-
(Neil is there to protect the one who protects them all)

when i read good omens for the first time, it fucking rewired my brain. it wasn’t just the plot, or the great jokes, or the excellent characters. it was the way that the narration acknowledged that the satanic nuns, like most religious people, largely went through the rites of religion without thinking about it too much. it was the way some kids made the decision to overcome the horsemen representing the downfall of humanity and convinced their friend that he could choose beyond the role assigned to him at birth. it was how said friend chose the people who loved him and were there for him over the zealous authority figures who didn’t even know why they were doing what they were doing. it was because there was a demon and an angel who loved humanity more than their respective causes. it was because the book said “You know what? Most people lead ordinary lives, and that’s perfectly fine” and that meant so much to me then, and it still does

I think in all my 12-ish years of Tumblr, I've never, ever, even in the craziness of Supernatural and Sherlock, seen a tag be around for so long as the Good Omens tag has been on the top 🔝

This is my copy of „Good Omens”. It’s a bit used, the cover is a little hideous (but it has similar design to the Discworld books i’ve read, so i’m kind of fond of it) and has translation mistakes (and bits lost in translation but it cannot be helped, it's language specificity).
But why would i show that to the internet?
Because before i’ve read the book, before i knew anything more that it’s about angel, demon and 11-year-old averting the apocalypse, i’d heard much about it. That this is a book that changed someone’s life, that you read and reread it, that you want to share it with your friends and total strangers, that it is brilliant and light-hearted, and absolutely hilarious with some serious themes, that characters are lovely, and so on. And i wanted that. I wanted people’s love for this book.
And the best way to feel that love is to go to your local library and borrow a book that was read by many people before. That was held when people laughted and cried with it. Which was loved by so many different humans. But i wanted my own copy and stealing from a library is bad… So i’ve bought this one from the antique shop. For chicken feed, too. So i have a book that served its time in the library. And i can hold it and smell it.
And i love this book. And i’m willing to share it with anyone who wants to read and appreciate it.
Thanks for coming to my very emotional talk about books

i think i could die happy to work on the Sandman somehow. i am bamboozled with how much this show has reignited my passion for film and television and creation and acting. im reconsidering going to drama school just to be in with a slight chance to be an extra or something in the show.

Quick lil question for you Mr Neil Gaiman sir
I remember seeing on Pinterest that you, at one point, answered a question something along the lines of "what's something that none of us will get until season 2?"
I now ask you: what's something none of us will understand until season 3?
Thank you,
a sandman/good omens fan
Pedometer.

No, Sir Galahad is not in the Bible, and I never said he was.
OK, so in my series of posts and lectures about my work on Neil Gaiman's Chivalry, I pointed out that Sir Galahad's first appearance in Arthurian fiction was in the Vulgate, and that his name was originally spelled Galaad. Therefore the spelling in Neil Gaiman's Chivalry is correct, and Galahad is a later variant spelling.
Someone recently took me to task for saying this meant that I claimed Sir Galahad was in the Bible, and yet Sir Galahad appears nowhere in the Bible.
I never said Sir Galahad was in the Bible.
I said he was in the Vulgate.
Vulgate means "common version" in Latin.
The confusion here stems from the word "vulgate" which often refers to the 4th century Latin translation of the Bible commonly known as the Vulgate Bible.
But "vulgate" is also a term used to refer to The Lancelot-Grail Cycle, a 13th century French Arthurian cycle which is also known as the Vulgate or Vulgate Cycle -i.e. common version. Later translations of this work are known as Post-Vulgate.
Specifically, Galahad or Galaad appears in the Vulgate Queste del Saint Graal.
Happy to help.
Chivalry is available wherever fine books are sold, and you can come see me at the San Diego Comic Con Museum on October 4 where I will be signing and lecturing and showing art. Thanks.

Midnight Pals: Patience
Thomas Disch: neil in the good omens game, is there a way to escape the dungeon without using the wizard's key? Neil Gaiman: ah! a very good question! Clive Barker: what? that's a terrible question Gaiman: ah but there are NO bad questions, clive Gaiman: curiosity is the rain that waters the seed of knowledge
Debbie Dadey: um excuse me sir neil gaiman but in Good Omens S2E42 aziraphale is shown performing the musubi dachi stance, but everyone knows that angels don't know karate Dadey:[pushing glasses up nose] i sure hope someone was fired for THAT blunder Gaiman: ah! a fine observation, thank you for sharing! Gaiman: so great to communicate with astute readers!
Gaiman: [putting gold star sticker on Dadey's forehead] i'm giving you a gold star for that Gaiman: in fact Gaiman: you all get gold stars! Koontz: oo! i want a gold star Gaiman: [putting gold star sticker on Koontz's forehead] and so you shall!
King: incredible! nothing flusters him! Poe: he's unflappable King: like the world's most patient kindergarten teacher Barker: no way, i don't buy it Barker: nobody's THAT patient Barker: i bet i could get him to snap Poe: clive
Barker: hey neil i've got a question Gaiman: yes? Barker: actually Barker:this is more of a comment than a question Gaiman: [sweating, veins in neck pulsing] ah yes, go on Poe: clive that's going too far
Neil Gaiman: you see dean Gaiman: you can see anything, do anything Gaiman: BE anything Gaiman: without ever leaving home! Dean Koontz: wowwww Gaiman: all you have to do is use your super power Koontz: my super power?? Gaiman: yes Gaiman: it's called Gaiman: IMAGINATION!!
Ray Bradbury: it was many years yonder when the open spaces were open and the blue skies were blue, and soda pop cost just a nickel and if you didn't have a nickel a smile would do, when you could see marshmallow dragons and candy corn castles in the clouds and you could do it all with the power of Dean Koontz: oh yeah imagination, i already know that Bradbury: and- what Koontz: yeah, neil gaiman told me Bradbury:
Ray Bradbury: listen neil i hear you've been going around extolling the power of imagination Neil Gaiman: ah imagination! the poor man's wealth, the prisoner's release- Bradbury: zip it bud Bradbury: there's ONE dream weaver in this town and that's me Bradbury: the limitless vista of a child's imagination ain't big enough for the both of us!!!
Bradbury: i have more child-like whimsy in my little finger, gaiman! Bradbury: and i will use it to paint a rainbow of nostalgic vibes that will have you crying! Bradbury: come at me, neil!! i'll make your childhood fuckin' magical!
Gaiman: wonderful, brilliant! just an excellent threat Gaiman: the craftsmanship of it was sublime, you should be very proud, ray Bradbury: Bradbury: are you Bradbury: are you being sarcastic? Poe: i don't think he knows how
Bradbury: you're so genuine, i can't stay mad at you Gaiman: perhaps, ray, there is room in the world of imagination for the both of us Gaiman: in fact, maybe there's room for ALL who seek to fly on the wings of a shared dream!

The fan art in this GO fandom is just unmatched. It’s amazing. There’s so many talented and skilled artists of every kind creating within this space and it’s joy to get to experience it. I’m including fanfiction as well in this because I have read some of the most gut wrenching writing because of fan-fiction specifically about those two. It’s just amazing. I just wanted to make a post to talk about it. Sharing art can be really hard. Artists deserve some recognition for that. Thank you, Sir Terry Pratchett and Mr. Neil Gaiman for giving us the story in the first place. It’s touched so many, and it’s inspired so much. Anyway, thank you to the artists, the writers, the community for creating and sharing those creations
