OK, really I want to know about them all, but I suppose I’ll just pester you with two, please? Will you share something (anything!) about Post 3x08 - the first time Andrea comes to visit TK after his mom’s death and Tarlos Mystery AU?? 💜💛
Oh Jamie!! You know I love sharing things 💛 These two choices though are definitely near and dear to my heart. 💜
Starting wtih Post 3x08 - the first time Andrea comes to visit TK after his mom’s death (because I actually have this about 50% written)
I am in love with this fic!! Andrea comes to visit about a month after Gwyn's death bringing groceries and a plan to get TK out of his head a bit with some cooking for Carlos. (many love languages at play here) While they cook though they talk and TK opens up to her and shares two very important things about Gwyn and it is very emotional and I love it. I love Andrea getting to give TK the love he deserves and exploring how their relationship develops in light of his loss.
Tarlos Mystery AU
This one is likely to be my next big fic adventure. In this one Carlos is a detective and TK is a crime scene investigator. The whole of the 126 is involved also in different roles than canon. Essentially they work together, there is shenanigans, mystery, crimes, all the good stuff. I may or may not be planning for an enemies to lovers trope for Tarlos Honestly this one is still in a fairly bare bones planning phase, but listen I have IDEAS and I am excited.

It was a brutal game.
Dani was unfairly sent away with a red in the second half, which gave the other team just enough time to tie against an unorganized Richmond. The end result of 2-2 tasted more like defeat than anything else, both as a player and a fan.
You couldn't even be there for Jamie, away on a work trip that had you cursing and screaming at the game playing on your laptop in a random hotel room. All you wanted was to bring Jamie home and hold him until the sting of the game left his bones, you were worried he might fall into a sulk without you there.
But there were still three more days to your assignment until you were able to come home and you had to settle for a FaceTime call later, watching interviews of the boys in the meantime where they put a brave face for the media and fans.
Jamie, still a little disheveled from the quick shower he took in the locker room smiles a brittle grin at a reporter as he settles in for an interview. He asks them how they've been and talks praises about his teammates and coaches despite the results. You reach a hand to trace the shape of his face on your screen, his cheeks and mouth, and the bridge of his nose when something catches your attention.
It's a simple golden chain hanging loosely against Jamie's chest. You frown, trying to recognize it from the jewelry he usually wears. Your boyfriend's taste was usually something flashier- fashion statements that people talked about on Twitter usually as either a hit or a miss, nothing in between, but you can't place ever seeing this one before.
He fiddles with it, not a nervous tic but rather a comforting one, and you see some tension melt from his frame when he comes in contact with the pendant that hangs from the chain.
A pendant with your initial.
Warmth washes over you as soon as realization does and the feeling of homesickness increases tenfold. You have no idea when Jamie got that, let alone why he didn't tell you about it, but you can take a guess.
He's shy, Jamie fucking Tartt, bashful and sweet when in love despite the cool appearances he keeps for the media and, less and less these days, his teammates. It feels like a privilege whenever he lets you see those wholesome parts of him: when he picks you up from work with flowers just because or when he cries at weddings and you have to sneak him tissues during the vows.
He's so good and he's yours- and this subtle but meaningful display of affection answers something that wasn't even a question. You're his, completely and irrevocably.
Hey handsome you text him, unable to wipe the smile from your features. You can't bring yourself to make fun of him about this, even asking him about it feels like breaching a limit he quietly placed for himself, so you don't. You up for a call later when you get home?
His response comes less than ten minutes later, the interview over. You imagine him cooped up in his scar, face illuminated only by your text thread, biting his lip in concentration as he types a response but a smile peeking out, cheeky.

1: favorite book of all time?
AUGHHHHHH WHYYYYYYYYY?!???! Ahhh… it’s got to be… UM… THE INQUISITORS TALE BY ADAM GIDWITZ!!!!! Man. One of the most beautiful books I’ve ever had the fortune of reading. It’s a fictional tale of medieval France and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Literally one of the prettiest books I own because it’s ILLUMINATED!!! Like old scripts done by medieval monks! But instead of monks, it’s Hatem Aly, and he does a truly lovely job of enhancing the book with his illustrations. God. I think about this book all the time ok I used to read it once a month that’s how enchanting it is. I’ll never shut up about it and I’ll never stop loving it.
Also A Little Princess by Frances Hodgeson Burnett bc that book basically raised me <333
2: favorite book at the moment?
ooooh idk… I’ll say The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo for now bc it’s got so many beautiful stories and it’s also one of the prettiest books I own… it’s kind of a twisted fairytale anthology of sorts, remixing a little mermaid, beauty and the beast, the nutcracker + the velveteen rabbit, Hansel and Gretel, and also putting a twist on classic tropes and it’s LOVELYYYY (it’s also set in the Grishaverse so uh. check it out if yiu ever have the time <33)
3: most recent book added to your favorites?
AHHH!! I went to the library recently so I got to find new books and oughhh I have really good taste based off of covers apparently. It’s called Junior High and it’s by twins Tegan and Sara Quin, and it’s another middle-grade graphic novel! It’s a memoir of sorts about Tegan and Sara’s 7th grade year, and it’s illustrated by Tillie Walden (I LOVE TILLIE WALDEN SO MUCH AUGHHHHH) and it’s a really really cute coming-of-age book!! I cried 👍✨
4: a few books you’d recommend?
HAHAHAAA MY TIME HAS COME! look them up yourself bc I haven’t the time to go in detail about them all but trust me that they’re good books and don’t judge them off the cover only ☺️ Also I’m rating them out of 10 so you know how I feel about them!

but yeah i have a super fucked up ortega!mancer called jamie who's an extremely dissociative and regretful 'entropy,' and then i unexpectedly fell so in love with herald in book 2 that my herald!mancer amber has become a mainstay as well but her personality/path r currently pretty similar to jamie's so im still working on developing her. i also played argent's route and it was fucking awesome as a ruthless!sidestep but that mc isn't quite as near and dear to my heart <3333

OH, RUBS MY HANDS TOGETHER, thank you so much for this ask i've been wanting an opportunity to talk abt his vampirism for a while actually. smiles
so! a lot of the deeper story lore surrounding his vampiric condition is something i've deliberately left up to my game master's discretion, who is a dear friend of mine and has some deliciously evil ideas in store, i'm sure. i have figured most of the basics for myself, though!
the most important thing is that, at least in Jamie's case, his condition isn't natural and was acquired through a curse of unknown origin. the way it functions is largely supernatural, enhancing his physical strength, speed and endurance beyond any human limit, and granting him minor shapeshifting and regeneration abilities as well as the power to supernaturally compel people to follow short commands given by him. (he himself hates using this ability because he is a very sweet and well-meaning boy at heart, though)
while incredibly powerful, it does, of course, require human blood to work, and will eventually start cannibalizing his own blood cells for "fuel" if he goes too long without feeding. Jamie usually goes out hunting every few weeks at night, though he's largely unaware of this happening and used to chalk up the hazy memories of said hunts to recurring vivid nightmares, nosebleeds, chronic anemia and typical college exhaustion, before he somewhat recently discovered the truth of his inhuman nature and then promptly spiraled into an ongoing existential crisis. he's fine, don't worry about it.
there's a few reasons why i made his vampire form's mouth look Like That; the out-of-universe reason being that i think it looks cool as hell and i'm bored of perfectly human-looking vampires in media (nothing wrong with it, just not my cup of tea. c'mon put some spice in that thang for god's sake), and the in-universe explanation amounting to a necessity to hold struggling prey down with multiple sharp mandibles while leaving the clawed hands free for climbing (or disposing of would-be interruptions to a nice meal). Jamie's primary pair of fangs is also capable of injecting a decently strong and fast-acting analgesic into prey, so unless he actually bites down hard with the intent to cause genuine harm, his feeding bites are usually deeply uncomfortable but not particularly painful otherwise. the rapid blood loss would be your biggest problem by then!
while normally he's a stealthy nocturnal hunter, he can also transform during daytime if he's thrown into a sufficiently urgent life-or-death fight and doesn't manage to suppress his prey drive in time; this also means that he's, uh, unfortunately very prone to slipping into a somewhat murderous frenzy during combat, especially if he manages to snap a bite out of whatever (or whoever) he's fighting and trips the part of his vampiric brain that goes haywire for fresh blood, and then all bets are off. he's lucky one of his teammates in our player group has the ability to essentially cast Calm Emotions on monsters 👍
