Kingdom Hearts - End of the World
#kingdom hearts#kh1#end of the world#scenery#my gif#this world is so fascinating...#i'm impressed by how the devs can create unsettling and ominous worlds while still using such vibrant colors#like they don't use grey tones as a juxtaposition to the lively disney worlds. they may darken the palette but it's still colorful#also the music here is on a whole other level. they certainly know how to set a tone and atmosphere#i never really noticed how the gummis in the chasm are constantly changing colors. same with those sticky looking web things#i had to include two gifs from that place because it's my favorite area#and now i'm finally done with creating a gifset for every world in kh1 :] three games down... many more to go

One Romantic Date, Hold the Awkward was my NaNoRenO 2022 submission! It was the first time I had ever led a team. And it was the first time I've ever gutted the UI as extensively as I did to build it from scratch. My focus that year was project management and UI design.
At the eleventh hour, I had lost some of what I was working on. Thankfully I managed to redo everything I lost and submitted before the deadline! I was so proud of myself and everyone that had a hand in working on this!

Another update + sneak peek: Finished all of the programming heavy coding and now I'm moving onto writing (a LOT) of dialogue! I'd say I'm maybe 2/3rds-ish of the way done with what I wanna do before I release him.
As for the gif above, I'm showing off another main feature I wanted to do back with Yes Man + ED-E, but didn't have the technical know how for: taking user inputs and using them in dialogue to "remember" things about you! He'll ask you questions about a lot of things, and it'll come back up in later conversations!

i knew that monkey man would have at least one needle drop that took me out and it had like ten actually (somebody to love. ooh la la.) but the one that really got me was the metal track during the hijras + dev fight scene bc LOL that's the bloodywood song about how we should kill all domestic abusers. im like not joking the lyrics are literally like if you disrespect our beautiful queens we are going to crazy murder you

I’m bored and thought of another scenario to put in tension and angst for obey me characters to go through. I like this one by the way.

Sorcerers’ society find out the causes of earthquakes happening faster than usual was MC due to their magic potential (MC being the cause of all the natural ‘phenomenon’ in S2) and now want to investigate MC and call them in.
Drama has already started baby.
Solomon who’s against this but goes with MC to make sure they’re ok because it’s not a good idea to ignore a seemingly threat invitation I mean.
It’s explained the Ring of light was used to console MC’s magic and everything is fine now but they’re doubting it and want to investigate the Ring of light for themselves, if it’s actually successfuly tamed their magic or just a temporary device to tone it down- simply meaning if MC’s overflow of magic would still be leaking and not fully restrained.
[Also add overprotective Solomon drama who’s against this because that’s hot and more dramatic]
It’s found out the ring of light isn’t powerful enough to completely prevent MC’s magic from overflowing and now…
The sorcerers’ society have deemed MC a threat. A large threat to the human world.
Who would be better off dead. No. SHOULD be dead.

Congratulations hayward and carpenter for doing absolutely nothing this episode. I think it's high time THEY get to be silly while other characters get to go through the worst experience of their lives. You know, as a treat
#the silt verses#[pulling out my bulletin board] actually my hot take is that I think their inclusion was so masterfully done#(idk if this is a hot take I haven't gone in the tags yet)#bc I did sit there the entire episode waiting for them to sweep in and save seb and dev#and idk i love that it didn't happen. bc carpenter and hayward are just two people in the grand scheme of things#or that carpenter being placed on the ground floor with hayward on the topmost one would be important#and we'd have to add another tally to carpenter's Awful Run In with Other Gods score#also that we get to see more opinions of the wound tree#bc we've gotten die hard supports and ppl vehemently against it. it's nice to see every day ppl who are just. kindly about it#that think it's brave even though they don't do more#also if i had a nickel for every time schnapps was in a podcast episode released this week. #something is very obviously different about these two compared to my normal images on this blog. i acknowledge this#also the sv model is Really good. and since they always stare straight at the camera anyway… and no one pays attention to the background…#and the only high-quality phantump model i could find was so horribly shiny that its eyes were just white voids#in my defense‚ phantump always just stare straight at you in game#the lighting is different‚ yeah. that's probably the dead giveaway. beyond the background. but like. i'm the only being on the planet who#really likes phantump anyway. i feel like it's a generally forgettable pokémon to most folks#phantump#HELLO this one is a weird one. i have some explaining to do. so when i did this one i didn't know how to edit models really at all#and when i got the models for these‚ the xy models were super shiny. shiny to the point that it made their eyes fuckin invisible#and i decided that since you could barely tell it was phantump‚ i needed a different way to get these images#i remembered that in the SV dlc‚ every time you find a wild phantump‚ it just fucking. stares. at you. and i was like. aha#i kinda remembered because of the test stream that i did. tumblr user alligayytorr (am i getting the right amount of Ys) said#“haha i am getting a sneak peek” when i zoomed the camera in on a phantump. and i remembered that. and i was like. i can utilize this#and ended up using just an in-game screenshot of SV in replacement of the regular content. later on‚ after that#once we got into gen 7 and it became less and less reliable to find models‚ i had to learn how to edit them manually to remove the shine#i am a software dev. not a 3d modeler. this ended up coming down to editing the code of the models directly (which i ended up writing a#script to automate). now‚ today‚ january 22nd (the day of me writing these tags and updating this post)‚ i remembered this post was in the#queue and was not normal. so i went back‚ ran the script on the phantump and trevenant models‚ and unshinified them#then edited these two posts to be normal. i have left the original pictures i took under the cut for reference and as bonuses#because i really enjoy phantump. so that's why those images are there‚ and that's why these tags are here#just for posterity's sake‚ the folks who come here mostly for my commentary‚ i've left the ORIGINAL tags of the post when i initially#made it with the SV pictures up at the top (i wanted to rearrange them‚ but tumblr makes that Very difficult‚ so i left them as-is)#so if these tags are confusing to read i Apologize. but i hope now that you're at the bottom you understand what happened#i'm gonna go edit the trevenant post now

Genshin impact Wriothesly/Neuvillette is on tbe brrrain
So I’ve been consuming fanfic like crazy for the past week or so. And. I love all of, but to switch things up a bit: Neuvillette as the one who falls first and pines longingly from afar.
He’s livedd a long time, and just because he doesn’t act on his emotions doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel them. He’s not self aware of how others view him, and he’s full of doubt, but he does know his own mind (even if he won’t admit it or speak it allowed) by his own story and voicelines.
So Neuvillette in love with Wriothesly for so long but also deciding to never act upon it, because he doesn’t think it returned and because he knows that Wriothesly’s own natural death will already break his heart: there’s no need to add more pain to it. Better to be a friend, a comrade, and a supporting pillar in Wriothesly’s life than to try and cast himself as a main character in it.
The end of the prophecy shifts things. The guillotine has fallen, at last, with as few casualties as possible. A tragedy no one will ever know has been closed. And Neuvillette realizes that, even if returned love is not in his script, the very least he should better appreciate what he does have. So he allows more and more personal conversation and shares his private thoughts and feelings and fears. Even gods die. It is foolishness to not enjoy wriothesly in his life while he still lives.
(The water sovereign was always the most gentle, no matter his form. It is how he was unmade the first time: his kindness exploited and twisted unto itself. He had thought himself rid of the trait in his new life, but even now the skies cry for both the people created from the blood of Neuvillette’s murder and for the so-called gods who uphold the order set down by the usurpers.
He is still water itself. In the end, Egeria was correct in one aspect of her rule: water, above all, is love)
And wriothesly… is absolutely not prepared for these softer moments. He had always found Neuvillette handsome and was honored by the friendship offered when he recognized it for what it was. But this is… more. Intimate in a way he doesn’t understand but wants to glut himself on. Every bit Neuvillette offers of himself Is sequestered away and held dear like the most valued treasure. The only thing that had ever stopped Wriothesly from falling for Neuvillette was the knowledge that such feelings wouldn’t be welcome. But with each piece of dispensed knowledge and shared laugh and quiet support offered that knowledge crumbles away into something a bit more hopeful.
Anyway. What I’m getting at is this:
“Neuvillette… I’m afraid I must confess: I am afraid that I’m falling in love with you.”
“Ah… I suppose it is only fair, then, to also confess: I am in love with you, and have been for some time.”
