Charles and Y/N were in bed watching some netflix documentary. It was a Saturday morning, the couple didn't have any plans so they decided to stay in bed for an extra hour. Ruby was in her room playing with her dolls, but as time went on, she walked into her parent's room, still in her pajamas, and told them she had gotten bored of her barbies.
"Papa, can I play a game on your phone?" Ruby asked, climbing onto the bed and laying ontop of Charles.
"What happened to your iPad?" Charles questioned.
"Its with grand-mère, I forgot it." Ruby frowned.
"Okay, but not for too long." Charles sighed and grabbed his phone from the nightstand. "If someone calls, bring it to me, okay?"
Ruby nodded and climbed off. Her little feet took her to the living room. She sat on the couch and tried to find the game Charles had installed for her to play. Instead of clicking on the game, a certain colorful app caught her eye. She clicked on the Instagram app and the first thing she saw on Charles' feed was a picture of Y/N that she had posted recently. Her chubby fingers clicked on the heart then clicked on the comments. She knew how to spell since Y/N and Charles were teaching her so she slowly typed out a comment.
charles_leclerc MOMMY
seconds later, hundreds of notifications came flooding in.

gasly10pierre he's so real for that
back in Charles and Y/N bedroom, Charles was too focused on giving his wife her morning kisses. They had completely forgotten about the documentary that was playing on the tv. Y/N was also too busy to even notice the notifications going off from her phone.
Ruby was having too much fun with her dad's phone. She kept liking photos and even took some up close photos of her face with funny filters. That's when she saw the LIVE option. Ruby, being the curious girl she is, clicked on LIVE and wondered what it was doing.
charles_leclerc started a live video
The screen showed her face, but nothing was happening. She was extremely confused. Then the comments started popping up.

"What's a credit card?" Ruby asked as if someone was going to tell her. She thought it was recording so an idea popped up in her head. She raced to her room with Charles' phone in hand and grabbed her favorite barbies. As she ran back, Charles called her name, unaware that his phone was capturing everything.
"Ruby! Slow down, I don't want you to fall." Charles called out.

"Sorry, papa." Ruby apologized.
"Its okay, baby. Are you hungry?" Y/N asked her daughter.
"No," Ruby quickly said and ran back to the living room.
"Ruby Jules!"

Ruby positioned the phone against her mom's favorite candle and showed the camera a barbie that her uncle Lorenzo had gotten her.
"I like this one. She has pretty hair and my uncle Enzo got it for me." She brought the barbie extremely close to the camera.

Ruby then set the barbie down and grabbed her favorite american girl doll that Charles got for her. "Papa got me this one. She has purple hair and has a crown, see?" Ruby showed the camera yet again. "I have more. And I have things for her hair." This time she ran to her playroom where most of her dolls were located. Instead of taking the phone with her, she left it propped up against the candle.

Ruby came back with all her american girl doll accessories. They were in the classic american girl red bag, but Ruby decided to dump it all on the floor.
"Ruby! What are you doing?" Y/N called out as Charles kissed her neck.
"Playing." Ruby said casually.
"Charles, get up. This girl might be writing on the walls." Y/N said, but Charles wouldn't get off of her.
"She's playing on my phone, she's okay."
"Still, let me get up. My amazon package gets delivered today. Get up, Perceval!" Y/N pinched his side, causing him to groan in pain and finally get off his wife.
Charles dramatically rolled onto his side. "It hurts. It hurts more when you don't have a shirt on."
"You're alive, dear husband." Y/N rolled her eyes and got up from the bed. She put on her slippers, not bothering to put on a proper shirt so she walked to the front door in her matching black silk shorts and lace top. She failed to notice her daughter on Instagram live.

"I know how to read." Ruby said to the camera.
Once Y/N opened the door, she heard her daughter say something. "What did you say, baby?" She said, still not looking in Ruby's direction as she retrieved her package from the front door.
"I said i know how to read." Ruby replied.
"Yeah, you do. You're a smart girl." Y/N nodded and went to her office that was right next to Ruby's play room.
Ruby continued showing the camera her toys.

Then Charles finally came into the frame. He was shirtless so all the comments went by too fast for Ruby to read. Like Y/N, he didn't notice Ruby trying to read comments on the phone.
As Charles was about to ask Ruby what she wanted for breakfast, Y/N's phone started to ring. Charles quickly made his way back to the shared bedroom. He looked at the phone screen and saw that his brother Arthur was the one calling. He answered the call.
"Hey, good morning-"
"Get your phone! Ruby is on Instagram live!" Arthur said.
"What?"
"She's live, Charles!"
Charles quickly ran to the living room to find Ruby showing the camera a framed photo of Charles and Y/N's wedding. "Ruby, give me the phone!" Charles raised his voice, making Y/N come out of her office wondering what was going on.
"I was showing the pretty picture!"
Y/N ran to Ruby and saw that she was showing the viewers her wedding picture. "Baby, give papa his phone back."
"Okay. The game was boring." Ruby handed Charles his phone back and went to her playroom.
Charles quickly ended the live and put his phone on the coffee table. "She's never playing on my phone ever again."
"Who told you she was on Instagram?" Y/N asked.
"Arthur. He called you, I answered. He probably got a notification that ruby went live." Charles sighed. "Well, I think everyone knows her name by now."
"Oh my god, wait give me my phone. I have your post notifications on." Y/N gasped.
Charles handed her her phone. He watched as she scrolled through all the Instagram notifications. She then held the phone out for him to see. "She used your account to comment on my picture. Look what she said."
Charles laughed at the comment. "Well she's not wrong. The fans did call you a milf."
"Imagine the ones that missed Ruby's live, they're going to see this comment and think that you have some weird kink. Good luck explaining that, Perceval." Y/N kissed Charles' cheek and went to Ruby's playroom.
"From now on, Ruby is on a phone ban!"
ruby is so chaotic i love her, she's my fav leclerc fr

Back to Life
human!alastor x human!gnreader
Part 1 of 5+
summary for part: you had just been for a walk in the woods, and now suddenly you’re standing over a historical looking guy with a chipper attitude and… a gun? thankfully he’s here to help you in your bloodied and confused state, but as things play out you can’t help but notice nothing is like it was before your fall, and all you have to trust is the odd grinning man
summary for series: One day when waltzing through the woods a peculiar looking buck led you deeper in, while following, you fell hitting your head and woke to a stranger standing over you. You don’t know where you are, how you got here, or who this guy is, but he’s all you’ve got and he’s utterly insane.
warnings for part: short first chap, lowercase intended; i’m feeling quirkyyy, multiple parts-i put other things aside because my brain is STUCK on human alastor sorry lads ;-;, blood, descriptions of injury, kinda strange stylized writing, i’ve got like a whole story thing planned compared to the other ones-this one’s got a whole plot line. no descriptions of reader- of any kind, no pronouns, i looked up a shit ton of 1920s outfits & speech just for a couple lines lmao, OOC alastor my reasoning behind that is he’s not in hell yet so he hasn’t had that kind of demonic development yet, he’s still a psycho tho and we love him for that, also mommas boy <3, he uses 1920s slang a lot lads, throughout the whole series
warnings for series: homicide, morally grey reader, eventual smut, cannibalism, reader will eat a guy, unknowingly, alastor be doing witchcraft magical madness but it’s never in depth explanations, alastor is a mommas boy and it will be hounded on, annoying 1920s slang, alastor is more accumulated to the era he’s in so he may be OOC 100 years in hell would change a guy, varying descriptions of injuries and blood in detail, takes place in 1927, alastor is 27 oop born in 1899 tho, nothing here is canon, just loosely follows, reader is in their 20s at least; no younger, alastors mom is nameless mostly, maybe later on she’ll have a name; she’s 48, alastor has daddy issues bc same, mimzy may be added later depending,
you remembered seeing a deer while wandering through the woods, you were taking pictures of the scenery when you saw this curious looking deer.
it stood tall with large antlers, a beautiful reddish brown coat, you’d never seen a deer so close. brining your camera up slow you went to snap a picture when your phone crashed, you weren’t even able to get the buck in frame before your phone fizzled out.
the deer started to walk away, but you so badly wanted these pictures. slowly you followed behind, cautious of the leaves and sticks below your feet. you followed it over a fallen tree, through bush and branch. finally you entered an area filled with more foliage, closer trees that blocked off sunlight, more bushes and fallen trees, wild flowers, moss and random mushrooms.
you watched as the buck disappeared behind thick bush, and that’s the last conscious moment you remembered. you woke at the bottom of the hill, when you opened your eyes you didn’t know a thing.
it was like you were a blank slate, everything was as it was; there was no confusion, you were simply in the woods with no worry or question as to why. you laid there, your head lulling from side to side observing the tree covered sky above, the sunlight that shot through the trees highlighting the particles floating through the air.
there wasn’t a sound at all; the animals feared something near. inhaling deeply, you willed your head up, wincing and groaning in pain. suddenly life as you knew it came back to you, you weren’t just a mindless being in the woods, you were you, and you were out here taking pictures and then, fell?
you still weren’t sure what had happened just that you followed a deer and then… fell asleep and woke here. your body ached badly, specifically your forehead, your back, neck and shoulders. it seemed the brunt of the fall was your head, lifting your hand you touched your forehead feeling a flap of skin that wasn’t there before.
looking down at your hand you weren’t surprised to see some blood, in fact the top you had worn had been covered in it. “hello dear, funny place to snooze if ya ask me.” a voice joked, startling you. however your body was too tired to startle, so despite your heart rate increasing, and the jump you felt in your bones, your body remained eerily still, your head slowly turning toward the sound.
standing above you was a man with a soft smile, he wore circluar glasses and the strangest outfit. he wore a coat chestnut brown- a lumberjack coat; strange looking pants that puffed out at the hips, with boots that the pants cinched into them. his hands were covered by gloves, and tiny brown coloured coiled curls popped out from his hunting cap, and on his shoulder a leather strap that allowed a large shotgun to sit on his back.
you were taken aback by his looks, his outfit looked vintage, historical too, and he was, well, gorgeous. “you’re bleeding quite a bit dear, how’s about we getcha up and outta here, hm?” lending his hand to you, the man gave you a charming smile with lidded eyes. you felt something was off about the man, a lingering feeling that something beyond your understanding was telling you to run, get away.
instead you whimpered, pathetically so, and placed your hand into his, letting him hoist you up. he wrapped your arm around him, while he looped his own arm under you, helping you walk. it was hard to do so, your ribs hurt with every breath you took, your head felt like it was floating above your shoulders, your cheeks watered making you swallow constantly, and though you were shivering your body felt ablaze on the inside, like hot coals were lit under your skin.
the man looked down at you, you could see from your peripheral vision he was inspecting you, but you were too pained to care. “how’d you find yourself at the bottom of the hill my dear, someone try to bump you off?” his voice was way too chipper for your current mood, and all you did was mutter a confused ‘huh’ at him, thankfully he laughed that off.
“listen, i’ll take you to my joint my mothers over so we can getcha all patched up, but you’ve gotta spill whatever happened to you if that’s quite alright.” despite the sturdiness in his voice, asserting what was going to happen with expectations, he tone was somewhat kind. dryly you mutter out ‘name?’, your voice raspy and unlike your own. the man chuckled before he responded in a smooth tone. “alastor dear, pleasure to meet you.”

Enjoy :) Word Count: 4k+ (Didn't realize it was that long)

(I loved him in this era, gold is his color, but he looks so good in red also)
“Well brother it appears you have found your mate”
I looked up at Aro who was looking at Caius. Mate? Whoever it is. I am so sorry for them. I have heard stories about Caius being this ruthless king who had no sympathy for human life, much to what my twin brother Carlisle has told me but he did say that Caius did have a love for the arts. Still I never had the chance to even meet the kings or anyone in Volterra, from the time my brother was part of this coven I was in South America exploring as always. The only reason why I'm even in Volterra was because Edward decided he wanted to kill himself for the reason he thought that Bella was dead. Alice brought me along not really telling me why, only said she needed my help.
So now I am here in the throne room staring at the other three kings. I could feel the blonde one staring at me but I avoided eye contact. Aro with his creepy like gaze swiftly moved toward me and my family,
“It is an honor to finally meet the infamous sister of Carlisle, may I?”
He extended his hand and I knew what he wanted. Carlisle told me about Aro, so I obliged without wanting to put the kids in danger. With one touch I relived every thought and memory I have ever had, it was strange seeing everything I have been through flash before my eyes. I pulled my hand away when I heard a slight hiss. It didn't come from Aro but it did leave me curious.
“Magnifico! You will make a wonderful mate to my brother and a perfect addition to this coven”
My eyes widened at his words, what does he mean mate to his brother. ME. Since when? How?
“I beg to pardon?”
“It appears you are the mate to my brother Caius”
No way, the mate to the blonde, I was just badwording him a minute ago and now I'm his mate. Instant karma for me. My eyes then wandered slowly to the blonde and he already had his gaze on me, just from his face I can tell he was displeased with the unraveling events. I felt a small hand grab me and I looked slightly into the eyes of the one I was the closest to, Alice.
“You knew didn't you?”
She looked down and I knew I got my answer, I looked up at Edward who had a flabbergasted look and cling more to Bella. Now I'm starting to think if Carlisle knew about this, did Alice tell him and Esme, my eyes widened slightly at the thought that I might never see my family again. I didn't even want to look at anyone in this room, not even the piercing blood red eyes that belong to my now mate. Aro was the one to break the silence
“Well with that cleared why don't we go on with the plan”
I totally forgot why we were here, I also forgot that Aro was on the verge to kill Bella and as much as I don't really like her, I might as well do one more thing for my family
“That won't be necessary Aro”
The raven head looked at me with a look of curiosity
“Why’s that?”
“What if we made a deal?”
I could literally see the spark or interest in his eyes, he looked like a child who was going to be rewarded with a prize for behaving. He nodded toward me to continue
“You spear my family and I stay”
What surprise me was Caius was the one to speak up next
“No deal, that human is a liability, she knows to much”
I looked at the blonde with narrowed eyes
“What if my family promised to change her soon?”
Nobody dared to talk but Aro piped in
“If they follow through with the promise then we will allow it, but you remain here and they go”
I nodded and then instantly a guard who had such elegance that would put the Greek gods themselves to shame led my family out and I was about to reach out for them when a beast of a man grabbed me. I looked up at the giant and my initial thought for a minute was “Why is he good looking? How can he be so tall and…have muscle in all the right places, again the greek gods themselves would be jealous”, That hiss sound was heard again and the giant let go of me. I looked around the throne room for where that hiss came from but everyone seemed to stand in the same place as before. Aro gave instruction to the twins who I remember my brother told me about, Alec and Jane, to take me to Caius private chambers. At the mention of that I almost wanted to make a run for it. The two led me away and I felt Caius' gaze on me the whole time as I was leaving the room.
Eventually I was left alone in the room, I had to admit it was a lovely room, it did seem fit for a king but also for a man of art. I felt strange being in his room alone, I don't even know the vampire and now I have to be with him for eternity. This is also unfair, why couldn't I at least say goodbye to my brothers kids, I might never see them or my brother again, I just got back from traveling and was set to settle down with my brothers coven for once. I only got 5 years with them. Maybe it's my fault for always wanting to explore and be on my own but life was cut short for me and I never got that chance when I was human.
Mine and Carlisle’s father forbade me to go out without my brother by me, I couldn't even go down the street to get a loaf of bread for dinner alone. Not that I don't love spending time with my
brother, but I always had that curiosity to go be alone and explore the world. Until that fateful day of my ‘death’, it happened after Carlisle was pronounced ‘dead’, and from that father was more strict than ever, I never got a chance to get a breath of fresh air, day and night at home; cleaning, cooking, reading, sewing, and etc. It got repetitive very quickly, so I decided one night to run away. That night I knew my father was away on another vampire hunt, so I knew I would be alone. I packed a small bag and went out by the back door. So far my journey was good, I decided to head off to York, I read books about this town and the gothic architecture was a must see.
I had a good 10 miles away from my home, when it happened, I was walking along this path in the woods when two random men came out of the blue and took advantage of me. They left me there barely breathing and in my growing cold blood. I was minutes away from dying when a familiar face came into my hazyview, I knew who it was and before I could even say his name everything went black. It was not until days later I woke up in a small clearing and Carlisle came into view and explained everything to me. I was glad to see my twin alive but at the same time I was not thrilled with the idea that I had to drink human blood. Me and Carlisle with time discovered the concept of drinking animal blood and that helped. Soon after we were accustomed to the life of vampires we parted ways. I wanted to travel but he wanted to spend time in Italy.
At this moment  I wished I stayed with my brother this whole time but then that meant I would have met my mate sooner and would have not met my brother’s coven. My mate…I was always curious to find out who they would be, I could see how my brother and Esme looked at each other, or how my brother’s children looked at their significant other, even Edward for once looked happy. I never knew I would even find them, I spent a lot of time alone and didn't really think about settling down or even finding my mate in this lifetime. I thought for sure I was destined for solitude, but it appears I was destined to be with the ruthless Volturi King.
Speaking about him I didn't even notice he came into the room and was seated in one of his Victorian burgundy styled sofas. I blinked a couple of times to make sure I was not seeing things but he spoke up
“You should really learn to be aware of your surroundings, I even gave you a kiss on the forehead and you didn't even notice or flinched”
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion and I saw he had a slight smirk on his face, he was teasing me. I didn't even know whether to be surprised or pissed at this, in different circumstances I would have joked back. In a blink of an eye he was in front of me, towering over me, I would have looked up at him but I wanted to stand my ground. I felt him lift my chin up and I faced his bright ruby red eyes that seemed so enchanting.
I tried to avoid eye contact but his eyes were like a lure, once you got a glimpse there was no way to look away. He started to lean in until he was inches away from my lips, “keep it together y/n, keep it together y/n”. But then Blondie whispered “Con tempo” and he was gone. I was relieved but at the same time I had a hint of intrigued.
Flashback….
Year 1700 – From the stories I have heard from the townspeople and from our father, they made the vampire life seem so horrible, that a vampire is only seen as a monster. But I have never felt such a peace like state, from being controlled, to losing my brother, to my ‘death’, I finally have forever to be free with my brother. And as of right now me and him are laying in an open field in the outskirts of Italy, gazing at the stars as we have been doing the past 30 years already.
“They had it all wrong, did they not, lyle?”
“I can not say I disagree but you have a point, I would've never pictured our life to turn like this”
Life really has never been better than this moment. I appreciated the times me and Carlisle would spend at night talking about the latest book we read or how we want to further our education in medicine and the arts. I want to travel more but it seems he has other plans. I can sense it.
“Just say it, I know there is something”
In the corner of my eye I saw that he took an unnecessary breath. I knew what he was about to say would hurt me, he always did that when he had to break bad news to me, even when we were little, he always acted like the big brother.
“I was confronted by a coven of Vampires, they call themselves the Volturi, they been around for millennials, they favor the arts and science, and they have more knowledge than any human could ever dream of knowing and they have an impressive collection of books on everything, they offered us a spot into their coven, I said I would talk it out with you first”
I knew he made his decision, I knew this is something he has always wanted to do, he wanted to know more about the background knowledge of Vampires and more on old medicine and arts. Even that intrigued me but that would mean I would have to settle down and live out my life in some coven and stay in one place for eternity.
“Carlisle…you know I would never want to stop you from your education, I was the one who persuaded you to have an interest in the medical field, so I'm not going to be one to hold you back, I would rather die than to stop you from this.”
“I figured you would not want to join, I thought that maybe I would be able to convince you. I don't like being separated from you, your everything I have left of family”
I looked at him with a saddened look
“I know Lyle, but you know I don't like to be contained in one place forever, I need to be out and about, exploring and having the life I never got the chance to have”
He sits up looking out in the open field, I know he really wants me to join him, and I want to but there's still so much to explore still. Sitting up also I extend a hand toward him and a Lily flower bloomed within my hand, he looks at it with awe
“A Lily Flower? Mothers favorite…”
I gave him a small smile “It took me a while to learn how to create it, still not used to having this ability but I only managed to create a Tulip, next time I see you I will show you a whole garden of flowers”
End of Flashback.
We had that conversation over 300 years ago already. Even when we finally did reunite and I lived with him and his coven, I didnt show him what I was working on with the time I was away from him. I am actually outside in the Volturi gardens creating a whole new garden with fresh new flowers that are both rare and exotic but also some common ones. I think what fascinated Aro about my ability is that I can create poisonous flowers that can knock out even the strongest of vampires out cold (I accidentally knocked him out the first month I was here for 5 days straight). And that was already 5 months ago since that “accident”, from that Aro just let me be in the garden alone and doesn't dare interrupt me unless I request his audience.
With my short time here, I actually became close to Marcus. Even though it took a while to get him to talk to me, I  caught him in the gardens one day and I saw he was overlooking a dying yellow lily. I instantly healed it, he turned to me slowly with a very small but very pleased look, he mentioned later that it was his late wife's favorite flower. He reminded me of Carlisle, we tend to talk a lot about plants and philosophy, we even had small arguments on certain philosophies. With Aro from the accident I'm still wary about him, he creeps me out sometimes and when he does that one laugh I don't know whether to hold in a laugh or wonder how such a laugh can come out of him. With the elite guards, we are slowly building trust with each other. Just the other day I managed to make Felix and Demetri laugh when I accidentally made an “erotic" looking plant. They reminded me of Emmett and Jasper. As with Jane and Alec, they are still wary of me, but I can see they are starting to warm up to me.
And how can I forget Caius? Having him as a mate has been interesting. I don't see him as often but when I do, he does a tactic of a quick and go. I could be doing something as reading a book in the King's private library when he appears and leaves a longing of his aura and then vanishes. It frustrates me so I decided to just ignore him.
Caius POV:
As soon as Jane came in with our “guest”, I felt a strange pull and was overcomed by the strong smell of roses. It was an addicting smell, I must know who it's coming from. I notice the human and internally I'm thinking “all this dramatic antics for this human? This Cullen boy was all set to end his immortal life because of her?” even I'm not that dramatic. I scanned the rest of the entourage and one of them reassembled as a human sized fairy, she’s almost the polar opposite of Jane. I didn't pay much attention to her for it being one of them caught me completely off guard. My mate… she's breathtaking, just from her looks I can tell she has an eye for art like me. Sadly her eyes are gold like the rest of the Cullen coven but that can easily be changed with time. It was not until Aro said she is Carlisle's twin sister that I lost it internally.
Why is life so unfair? Millenniums of existing and waiting for my mate to come along to find out she's the sister to the one person I absolutely despise . Out of everyone why a Cullen? The minute that “Vegetarian Doctor” left my respect for him vanished. But why is she avoiding eye contact with me? What has that Carlisle said about me? Great, I barely find out she's my mate and she hates me. Why would she hate me? I like to think I'm straightforward and speak my mind without hesitation, what is there not to like about me? I'm also quite dashing myself if I must say, I take a great deal of myself and I at least don't have that weird laugh Aro has.
As if on cue I heard Aro do that said strange laugh and I was snapped out of my thoughts to see Aro was holding her hand to read her thoughts, without a thought I hissed in displeasure. She's my mate, nobody can touch her but I. Have I always been possessive? Didn't think of myself as the possessive type, I'm just being reasonable. I must know what Aro has seen from her, I want to know everything there is to know about her, everything she has seen and done. Hopefully she has not been with another man or even a woman, I'm not judgemental, but it seems I also have a jealous side. What is wrong with me today? I am suddenly having all of these out of character personality, I blame her.
When she offered a deal, my anger took over and I said no deal, even if she said she was going to stay. Of course she's going to stay, she's my mate, in no way was I going to let her walk away after I waited millenniums for her. After my little outburst on her Aro said for Felix to take her to my chambers but the way she looked at him when she was grabbed by him made my eye twitch involuntary, I did that hiss sound and Felix immediately let go.
When the throne room was set for clear I had to go see her up close. When I arrived at my private chambers I noticed she was in a trance like state, as if reliving a past memory. Wanting to respect her I waited it out. She did after a while and that is when I striked first, with my speed I was in front of her gazing down on her, she's more beautiful up close. I think I might like the color amber now, the way her eyes are so full of light and warmth is so wonderful to witness. I leaned in thinking I might kiss her but I decided to tease her. I want her to be the one to break first even if I'm already secretly hopelessly falling for her.
Y/n POV
It has been a very confusing couple of weeks. I think I'm conflicted with whether I should keep ignoring Caius by not being flirty in return like he has been with me or should I just reciprocate the same behavior toward him. Trust me I do want to get out of this weird faze we are dealing with but the way that man is so bipolar sometimes is astonishing to witness. Our latest incident resulted in Felix and Demetri carrying me out of the library while Aro and Marcus consulted with Caius. The funny thing is Caius walked in all suave and flirty.
“You know I always find it difficult to look at you without falling in love with you”
Not wanting to give him a satisfaction that his words made me feel a certain way, I brushed him off
“So don't look at me, it's that simple”
“That simple? Have you no idea that when I look at you, all of the beautiful work you do in the gardens is put to shame with your beauty, how your voice is sweeter than the richest of blood, or how your eyes have conquered me?” he scoffs “As if that's simple amore”
I shut my book and set it on the table already getting sick and tired of his little suppose clever tactic to get me to confess my undying love to him
“You know you walk in here all suave and seductive or whatever you call this, and then you leave before I can say anything, in the 4 months I have been here, not once have you sat down with me and had a full on conversation with me”
“Well i'm a king, im busy, I have matters to take care of, things you would not know how to deal with”
Now it was my turn to scoff at him
“Busy? With what? I have talked with Marcus and he says you mostly are in the throne room looking at old text that I bet you have read at least a thousand times so far, your just avoiding me because i'm a Cullen, I am well aware you despise my brother and his coven”
That for sure shut him up but unfortunately what I said fuelled his anger.
“How dare you speak to me like that! Conspiring behind my back with my own brother! I have done nothing but be patient with you and been a great mate to you!?”
How can he say such a thing about being a great mate when there are times I don't see him for days and when he does appear it's only for a couple of minutes.
“You are unbelievable, you being a great mate to me? How can you say that when one) I don't even see you that often. two) you haven't even bothered to talk about actual things instead you seduce me and three) you just assume every time you flirt with me that I like it or I will return the favor. Well news flash I don't like it, maybe my brother was right about you”
Using his vampire speed he was up in my face in an instant glaring down on me, I might not be able to read his thoughts but just with his eyes you can see how pissed he is.
“Your brother!! Are you also conspiring with him about me behind my back! Some mate you are to me. I have been patient with you, I have been all sweet talk with you. How am I supposed to know what you like and don't like if you never speak up, I was starting to think you are mute”
I could now feel my own anger rising at his words
“Well maybe if you actually took time in your supposed busy day to sit down and talk to me I would start to open up to you and be more affectionate with you but I never say anything because you always vanish in a blink of an eye. Your so childish for doing that, hiding from someone who is a whole foot shorter than you, pathetic”
In all of my decades of existing as a Vampire, I have never been caught off guard until now. I was in a literal chokehold as I was kissed deeply by Caius. WAIT he's kissing me? H-how did this even happen? I was absolutely horrified by the turn of events. My reflexes finally kicked in I pushed him away roughly from me and I took several steps away from him. How dare he kiss me like that without my permission? Who the fuck does he think he is to even do such an action on me? To add to that, the freaking blonde had a small smirk but his eyes held a bit of pain and shock. I haven't the slightest idea of what to do next, I won't lie and say I didn't enjoy the kiss but I didn't want our first kiss to be like this.
We just stood in silence, I wanted to say something but I don't know what exactly, I must have been too deep in thought because when I looked up he was gone.
A/N: Ooooo cliffhanger, I had to do it, part two will come out at some point (to be honest I have not started to work on it yet but I have a basic idea of how it will end).

Love love love how the whole chain are just out here ROASTING Sky's stamina (and he's chugging a stamina potion at the end I can't-)
That said, I'm a bit surprised that he wasn't just reading their mail like we all thought! I'm also curious what the mail said, because does Sky still have it? Will we get to at least see him hand it off?
Also, where does this new time gate go? JoJo mentioned skyloft a few times and the fact that she's shared concept art for some skyloftian friends and not NPCs from other eras is very obvious.
The fact that we know Sky's dowsing still works though is good. He can't hear Fi, but the Master Sword still performs all the same tasks as she did (can Legend's do that also?) (Also, my boy looks so sadly at is sword, poor baby misses his babysitter)
It's strange to think the boys were even considering that things were over, seeing as they all seemed pretty invested on weaponry, training and just, generally speaking, things that people who are planning to go home aren't as concerned with as actually setting off. I feel like they kinda knew it couldn't be over yet, they just didn't seem to be acting like it was.
I'm guessing the next update will either be a side comic for mail receiving, the crew getting ready to go, or maybe all of them going through to the next era. Whatever the case is, it seems that we aren't getting introduced to the First hero in this era like some people suspected! I'm really hoping we DO get to go to Skyloft so fingers crossed, but I'm excited for whatever JoJo has planned!

Nesta and Eris love triangle
smut number 9 🫣
Flames of Silver (Nesta x Reader x Eris)
Tumblr media
Summary// You have been playing a dangerous game for the last month. It started with harmless flirting between Nesta and Eris, never veering too close to the sun, until one night during an Autumn Court ball, you realize not only that you were not playing the game alone but that you had just lost.
(First ACOTAR fic in a while and I am SO PUMPED. 4,720 words later and here it is! I love Nesta, I love Eris, I want them both to rail me simultaneously so this was a very self-indulgent fic. Thank you to the like-minded anon who requested this I love you <3 Enjoy!)
WARNINGS: Smut, 18+, Spanking, Cum Eating, Dom/Sub, Overstimulation
The invitation to the ball had been no surprise to you. Eris had been boasting about it for weeks, claiming in his letters that it would bring about a new era of the Autumn Court. You had rushed to tell your High Lord, Helion, who was already planning to attend after receiving his invitation from the Lady of Autumn.
You had given him a curious look, raising an eyebrow, and he quickly turned that look around on you by asking why Eris Vanserra had sent you an invite. Helion smirked when you fumbled for an excuse and left to prepare, warning you not to play too close with fire as the door slammed shut behind you.
He had very little idea of just how close you were to getting burned by not only Eris but someone else, someone who you would argue would be even more dangerous if pissed off.
Nesta Archeron.
When you met her, you already had somewhat of a flirting relationship with Eris, but you couldn’t resist her temptation. She was an enigma, a storm in the middle of the ocean that only the bravest sailors would dare to tread. Or the dumbest of ones. Which category did you fall in? You weren’t sure, but you knew from the moment she gave you an ounce of attention that she had you hook, line, and sinker.
Just like Eris. The two of them were so similar in their actions and words. How could you not fall for both? Each one could easily make you feel like you were the only person to exist, each one giving you exactly what you needed. You had been trying to make sure you never got too close with either, not wanting to go too deep in fear of hurting one, but that line was getting blurrier by the day.
Even now, as the day of the ball finally had come, you were reading over a letter from Nesta asking if you were available tonight. It hurt to tell her no but you had already agreed to this ball with Eris. Your heart felt like it was being torn in two as both seemed to be demanding your attention more and more over the last few weeks.
You needed to make a choice. You could string them along no longer, as it would only break everyone’s heart. But which would you choose?
—---------------
The imposing architecture of the Forest House sends a chill down your spine as you step out into the chilly air, following your High Lord as the rest of your group falls in line beside you. Your stomach had been in knots the entire ride over here, and it only seemed to get worse the further you went into the building.
Laughter and music echo around the halls as you stop in front of the grand mahogany doors of the ballroom. The smell of a feast made your mouth water as you made sure your outfit was perfect, knowing Eris was waiting for your appearance.
Tonight, you will have to decide which fae you want to court, but for now, as the doors open and the warm lights of the room welcome you, you are going to enjoy the peace while it lasts.
Helion walks in first, greeting everyone with a warm smile and a wave before he goes off in search of his Lady. You follow swiftly, nodding to the servants as you scan the room for the red-haired male. It only takes you a moment to spot him, standing by the throne with his crown atop his head, but who you see beside him makes you falter.
And the peace you entered with shatters.
Nesta turns her head to look in your direction, her smile dangerous as she gingerly taps Eris on his shoulder and nods towards you. He smirks, amber eyes matching the tone of Nesta’s smile as he raises his head in greeting.
Fuck.
You immediately turn around, hoping Helion is miraculously waiting for you, only to find him still engrossed in his conversation with the Lady of Autumn. The tightness in your chest continues to grow as you spin back around, looking for anyone or anything that could buy you time to escape, until you realize Nesta is heading straight towards you.
“Why, dove, you look as if you’ve seen a ghost.” Her voice is sickly sweet as she grabs your arms, turning you so that she is now blocking the exit. Damn it. “Are you feeling alright?”
“I’m-” Your voice cracks, and you flush in embarrassment, clearing your throat and straightening your spine as you try again. “I’m alright, Nes. I just got a little dizzy. I did not know you would be here tonight. When you wrote me, I assumed you had other plans.”
She smiles again, her eyes dancing with amusement as you refuse to hold her gaze. “I did, but they fell through, so I tagged along with the rest of the Court. However, I don’t recall you mentioning anything about a ball in your rejection.”
The pounding of your heart seems to drown out the music as you fumble for an excuse, frowning. “It was a last-minute thing, Nesta. I am so sorry. Of course I would have invited you if I had-”
“Known?” A sweet, sardonic voice repeats behind you. “You’ve known about this event for weeks now, pet.”
Dread pours over you like cold water as you turn to look up at Eris, dressed in his finest suit, while he looks down at you with the faintest hint of a smile. You swallow, mouth suddenly dry, as you realize you are now stuck between the two sides of your indecisive heart.
“I…” You trail off, looking between the two of them. “I didn’t realize you two knew each other this well.”
“Oh, we just recently started getting closer.” Nesta waves her hand dismissively, taking a sip of her wine. “Isn’t that right, Eris?”
“Yes, we found out we both had something very similar in common.” He agrees, handing you your own goblet, which you down without a moment's hesitation. “It seems we are being played by the same woman. Someone’s been bad.”
You choke on the wine, covering your mouth as your eyebrows raise to the top of your head. “Played? What do you mean played?” Your voice is bordering on hysterical. This is not how you wanted things to play out.
Suddenly, an icy, soft hand grips your chin and turns you until you look into Nesta's steel-blue eyes. “Do you think us stupid, dove? That we wouldn’t figure out your little game?” She frowns and it breaks your heart, your mouth flying open to explain before your brain can tell you to shut up.
“It wasn’t a game!” You protest, shaking your head vehemently. “I-I swear it was never a game. Not between us,” You say, looking at Nesta before turning to Eris. “Nor us. I didn’t mean for this to get out of hand, for anyone to get hurt, I just-”
“Just what, pet?” Eris cocks his head, his jaw clenching.
“I couldn’t choose between the two of you. You are both so similar and yet so different. I met you,” You gesture towards the High Lord of Autumn, smiling wistfully. “And you swept me off my feet with your sarcasm and wit…and then I met Nesta, who did the same, only with her passion and fury. I wanted you both. I still do, and I know that is impossible, that you must hate me, and I understand.”
The shame you feel for stringing them both along threatens to swallow you whole as they share a look over your head, one that you miss due to keeping your eyes on the floor until their mocking laughter makes you jump and look up in surprise.
“Look at her face, Eris,” Nesta coos, stroking a hand down your bare arm. “She looks as if she is about to burst into tears.”
“As she should. It might teach her a lesson in being greedy.” He responds darkly, seizing your wrist and pulling you into his chest. “You have been very bad, pet. Very bad and very greedy.”
Your face must give away your confusion as you blink blankly at the redhead, trying to figure out if this is a game or if you are about to be called out in front of the entire room. What were they doing?
Nesta’s slender frame presses up against your back as you feel her lips ghost against the shell of your ear, sending a pleasurable thrill down your spine as she whispers, “Go upstairs to Eris’s room. You know which one. And when you arrive, we want you to strip down and kneel by the edge of the bed.”
We?
You lick your lips, trying to form a sentence until you give up and mutter the only word that matters. “We?”
“Yes. We.” Eris confirms, a sinful smile on his red lips as he releases you all at once. You stumble back, barely catching yourself before you fall on your ass and look between the two of them. “Go.”
It wasn’t a request. It was an order. One that Nesta was nodding along with. You turn and leave numbly, going over the whiplash of conversation that just happened, and it doesn’t hit you until you get to the stairs of what this meant.
They knew you were talking to them both. They knew you couldn’t choose. They had planned this. It wasn’t anger or sadness in their voices that you thought you heard…it was lust. And power. You had played right into their hands.
And you were excited.
“I’m in way over my head…” You shake your head as you ascend the stairs and take the familiar route to Eris’s room. Time seems to slow as you arrive at the ornate door and slowly turn the brass knob, your fingers slightly trembling as you push the door open and peek inside.
The room itself looks as it always has. A large four-poster bed against the back wall decorated with warm browns and vivid reds, a large fur pelt blanket at the end. His grand wooden desk was against the other wall, close to the fireplace, with a tall, plush chair directed towards the bed.
As you scan the room, you almost miss it, the candlelight catching the array of objects that one of the two had laid out on the bedside table before you had arrived. You take a tentative step forward, mouth opening in shock as you see various ropes, paddles, and other things that make your skin flush and cunt clench.
What were they going to do to you?
You snap out of your thoughts when you hear heels clicking down the hall. Realizing you hadn’t followed instructions, you make quick work of your dress and underwear. The clothes fall haphazardly to the floor, and you barely kick them out of the way and kneel before Nesta opens the door.
“Hmm.” She hums, shutting the door behind her as she walks across the room. You clench your fists on your thighs, resisting the urge to look until two fingers find your chin and tilt it up. “You listen well, dove.”
The praise makes you shiver, your eyelids fluttering while she watches you for a moment longer before releasing your chin. You make a small sound in your throat but one sharp glare from her silences you.
“Don’t pout. This is your own doing.” She chastises you, removing her long, silver gloves and draping herself across the chair you noticed earlier. “You will accept everything we give you with a ‘Thank you,” do you understand?”
“Yes.” You answer immediately, jumping when you hear the door open again. Eris’s tall shadow envelopes the entrance as he turns to lock the three of you inside, his gloves already removed as he lays them across the nightstand.
“She was ready when you came in?” He asks over his shoulder, ignoring your existence as he removes his coat jacket. Nesta nods, shifting in her seat as the High Lord smirks and grabs your face roughly. “What’s your safeword?”
“I, um,” You falter, shying away from his gaze as you rack your brain. “Suriel.”
Nesta snorts but doesn’t say anything else as Eris grabs your arm and hauls you off, shoving you toward her. She catches you easily, positioning you to lay across her lap. “Stay still, little love. This is your first punishment.”
“First?!” Your voice is shrill as you struggle briefly, craning your neck to the side to watch as Eris considers which instrument to use on you. “How many am I getting?”
“However many we feel you deserve.” Eris snaps, grabbing a paddle and placing it in Nesta’s awaiting hand. “You think we would just let out off easy, pet? That we wouldn’t feel hurt about what you were doing?”
“I didn’t mean to-ah!” A shriek tears itself out of your lips as Nesta lands a sharp smack across your bare ass. The sting makes you wriggle, your nails digging into your palms as another two slaps follow in quick succession.
“No excuses.” She hisses into your ear, grabbing a fistful of your hair and pulling until you are facing her again. “Show us your apology by giving this to us, by submitting to us, and we might forgive you.”
Your eyes search her face, looking for any deception, before you nod and bow your head. You care for them both, love them both, and you would do anything to be in their good graces again.
“Okay…” You murmur, eyes squeezing shut when she delivers another blow of the paddle.
“What do you say, dove?” Her voice is teasing again, and despite the pain, you feel the first trickles of pleasure flow through your body at her nickname for you.
“Thank you!” You gasp out, tears starting to form in your eyes.
They share another look over your head while Nesta rubs a soothing hand over your red cheeks, a reward for being good. You freeze momentarily when you feel another hand join, this one larger and calloused, but you feel it dip between your folds before you can look.
Eris kneels next to you as he runs the tip of his finger through your pussy, feeling the wetness that is only growing as he coos mockingly, “I knew you’d enjoy this, pet. Was this your plan all along? Did you want to be punished?”
Before you can shake your head, Nesta gives you another spank, only this time, as it lands, Eris harshly shoves two fingers inside of you and crooks them. The sensation is dizzying, and you can’t stop your hips from pushing up in search of more of it.
Their chuckles fill your mind as they work your body expertly, giving you both pain and pleasure. You can feel Nesta shift again in her seat and your mouth waters as you imagine how wet she must be. Eris scissors your cunt and strokes your walls, his face heating up with desire at all the sounds you are making.
It takes only two more blows before they’ve had enough of the game. Eris pulls you off of her, forcing you to be on your hands and knees as he admires you from behind. You blush, feeling his hands groping your ass until your attention draws back to Nesta as she begins to undo the laces of her dress.
“Holy hells…” You whisper as the fabric falls and pools at her feet, the candlelight giving her an ethereal glow as she stands before you. “Nesta, you are so beautiful.”
“Such pretty words,” She smiles, reclaiming her seat on the chair before spreading her legs so you could see her glistening cunt. “But I can think of other things I want your mouth to be doing.”
You lick your lips subconsciously, looking back to Eris, who also seems captivated by her beauty until he feels your eyes and nods. “Go on, pet, show her how talented your tongue is.”
No further encouragement is needed as you crawl towards her, rising so that you can bury your face between her thighs. One of her hands immediately falls to grasp your hair while the other grips the fabric of the couch. Your tongue greedily laps up her juices, moaning at the taste as the rustle of fabric behind you has your ears perking.
“How does it feel, Nesta?” Eris asks huskily, folding his clothes and putting them aside before returning to his spot behind you. “Is she showing you how sorry she is?”
“Oh, yes,” She gasps, her hips grinding against your face as you continue to eat her out. “You’ve trained her well. I could almost get over you having her first. Almost.”
She emphasizes the last word by giving a sharp yank to your hair, enjoying the cry of pain you give before she pushes your head back down. You feel emboldened to make it up to her, to make her feel good, and you use the tip of your tongue to flick over her hard clit. This causes her to moan louder, and you smile, doing it over and over again.
You’re so busy focusing on Nesta’s pleasure that you forget Eris is behind you. However, he is quick to remedy that as you feel the head of his cock bump against your entrance. It takes you by surprise, but you instantly push your hips back, silently begging him to fuck you.
A low growl comes from his chest as he lines himself up and thrusts all the way into you with one rough shove. The stretch is painful and burning but you can’t find it in you to care.
“Fuck!” You moan into Nesta’s cunt, your eyes rolling into the back of your head as Eris starts a brutal pace. Every thrust pushes you further into her, the entire bottom half of your face covered in her wetness as her cries grow louder.
Eris’s hands come to grip your hips to hold you steady, the sound of his balls slapping against your sex making you shiver as he lands a sharp smack on your ass. You whimper, enjoying the pain, and he does it again. And again. And again.
“Take it, little whore,” He grunts, long hair falling into his eyes as he fucks you deep. “Cry for us, scream for us, let everyone in the hall hear how pretty you sound when you’re getting ruined.”
Nesta’s thighs start to tremble as you do exactly as he instructs, her nails digging into your scalp as she starts to rut against your face desperately. You can feel your orgasm building from Eris hitting your sweet spot, but before you can cling to that feeling, you hear Nesta scream out your name, her cum flooding your mouth as she holds you against her pussy.
You lap at her like a kitten with cream, opening your eyes to watch her face contort in pleasure. The vision of her coming undone by your tongue is one you ingrain into your memory. After a few seconds, she relaxes and lifts you by the hair again, tilting your head left and right to see the mess she’s made of you. You smile at her, proud of your state, until Eris rips another moan out of you that makes your eyes screw shut.
“Right there, Eris, gods-” You groan, looking back to watch him disappear into your tight hole. “I’m close.”
The coil in your stomach was tightening by the second but just as your vision gets fuzzy, the High Lord pulls out with a hiss. You couldn’t stop the whine even if you wanted to, pleas falling from your lips for more.
It falls on deaf ears as Nesta shoves you off of her, making you fall backward onto your sore ass. You hiss, frowning, until Eris seizes your shoulders and turns you around to face him. He is standing now, fully naked, with his large, glistening cock hanging right in front of your face.
Whatever words you were about to say die in your throat as you swallow, your breathing growing shallow as you glance from his dick to his face. He’s got his signature scowl, and one eyebrow raises as he waits for you to do what you already know he wants.
You raise your hand tentatively, grasping his cock and giving it a small stroke. Eris’s hips follow your motion, and you repeat it, rising to your knees so that you can move more easily. He allows you a few seconds before he grabs the back of your head, his other hand grabbing his cock.
“Open for me, pet. Stick out your tongue.” He orders, smiling with his teeth when you follow obediently. You gaze up at him through your lashes as he slaps the head on your tongue a few times, smearing your own wetness over your mouth and cheek. “Such a good, obedient girl.”
“Mmmph!” You moan, swirling your tongue over the tip before he shoves himself inside you without warning. Instinctively, you gag, your eyes watering as he pulls out all the way and does it over and over again. You have to brace your hands on his thighs to steady yourself as he fucks your throat just like he fucked your cunt.
Just as you feel like you’ve got it down, two hands roam over your shoulders and down your chest, cupping your breasts. Nesta’s scent surrounds you as she presses herself against you, toying with your nipples as she coos, “You look so pretty with his cock in your mouth, little dove. You were made for this.”
Eris continues his assault on your mouth as Nesta works your body with her fingers, her lips trailing down your neck and over your ear while one of her hands drops to your sopping pussy. She brushes against your clit teasingly, and you moan around his cock, your hole clenching on nothing as she repeats the action agonizingly slow.
“So desperate for us,” Eris growls, his hips beginning to stutter as he feels his orgasm rising from his spine. “Fuck, I’m going to cum in that filthy mouth of yours, and you are going to hold it. Understand?”
You try to nod, tears falling down your cheek as Nesta’s fingers speed up in time with Eris’s thrusts. She moves from your clit to push three long, slender fingers inside of you. In seconds she’s curling them to hit the spot, making you see stars just as Eris throws his head back and cums with a low groan of your name.
His seed coats your mouth, and you do your best to hold it in, feeling some of it leak out the corners of your mouth from just how much he cums. It’s tangy and musky, but you love how nicely it mixes with Nesta’s taste. Eris slows his pumping and gingerly pulls out, though he remains hard, lifting your chin to make sure you followed his directions.
However, you can’t focus for long as Nesta nips your shoulder playfully, reminding you of her presence. You allow your head to fall back as she continues to fuck you with her hand, rolling your hips as you feel your orgasm build for the second time that night.
Everything in you wants to cry out, to scream for more, but you know you can’t. You didn’t want to upset Eris more, but gods, Nesta’s fingers were heaven-sent. Just a little more, and you would….
She pulls them out just as you teeter to the edge, ripping your orgasm away with a cruel laugh. You sob, bucking your hips like a bitch in heat as you try to hold the feeling, but it’s no use. Instead, she kisses you fiercely and uses her tongue to scoop up Eris’s cum.
The action makes you shiver, and she pulls back so you can watch her swallow it, her eyes flicking to Eris, who’s smirking at her. A thought crosses your mind briefly of the two of them ravishing each other in a battle for dominance, a sight you would give anything to see.
Tonight was not that night, unfortunately, as a pair of strong arms lifted you and all but tossed you on the bed. You bounce, barely catching yourself before Eris is pulling you by the ankles until your ass is almost dangling off the bed. Nesta appears to the side of you, and looking at both of their expressions, you know your punishment is not over.
“Beg for it. For us.” Eris demands, his hand dipping down to begin to rub your clit again. You were already so sensitive that even that small action had you getting close, but Nesta held your hips down, her eyes glaring down at you.
“Do it, dove. Beg for mercy. Beg for us to use your body, to fuck you stupid.” She snarls, twisting your nipples until your back arches, and you sob again. “Be a good girl and beg.”
You gasp, staring at them as the last shreds of your dignity disappear into thin air. “Please, please, use me!” You squeal, heart racing. “Let me cum, please, I’ve been so good. I’m so sorry! I’ll be a good girl, I promise, just-” You swallow, your throat constricting from the overstimulation. “I wanna cum, I wanna be good, please let me.”
There were a few moments where you thought they would continue their torture, continue taking joy in your pain, but all at once, they pull back, and the entire mood shifts. Nesta maneuvers until your head is in her lap, her voice soothing as Eris smiles down at you and begins to kiss your inner thighs softly.
Your whole body is shaking as he takes your clit into his mouth, sucking, before moving down to tongue at your cunt. Both of your hands fist into the bedsheet as you slowly start to roll your hips, your mind buzzing as Nesta plays with your tits again. The combination of both of them makes you feel a bliss you’ve never felt. If you died right now, you’d be happy.
It doesn’t take long to bring you to the edge as Eris’s tongue fucks you. Your soft moans turn to whimpers, the only warning they get before your body seizes and you arch off the bed. Nesta talks you through it, telling you how good you were for them, while Eris drinks everything you give him.
He pulls away when you start to squirm, not wanting to overwhelm you anymore. He and Nesta share a look as she pulls you further into the bed, shushing you as you mumble out another apology.
“It’s okay, dove, you’re okay,” She soothes, brushing your hair out of your face. “You did so well for us. You were so good.”
A warm, wet something is felt between your legs, and you barely open your eyes to see Eris wiping you down, making sure to be gentle before he tosses it to the side and crawls to your other side.
“We could never stay mad at you, pet, not when you give us this.” He smiles, kissing your temple. “Sleep now. We’ll talk in the morning.”
You nod, nuzzling into Nesta’s bare chest while moving your arm to touch Eris as well. They both smile and rest against you, content. Tomorrow would bring new challenges and conversations, but tonight, you all could bask in each other and your shared bliss.

CHAPTER SIX | it all makes sense when i'm with you.
'it's nice to have a friend' masterlist + playlist | previous chapter
PAIRING: jamie tartt x fem!reader
WORD COUNT: 6.0k
SUMMARY: jamie and reader are finally happy, but are now faced with entering a new era of their relationship.
WARNINGS: language
A/N: yet another long chapter, but this is the last one before the epilogue and i really wanted to include a lot of scenes! i want to thank you all again for reading this! it's been a long time coming (longer than expected), but i hope you'll all enjoy it anyway! thanks again for reading and if you're curious, the title is from the song "1,2" by mxmtoon :)
Tumblr media
"They were fucking psychos for making us tie it around our dicks. I mean, I already knew Total Football, so I don't get why they had to make me do it, too."
"Sportsmanship, Jamie. You have to be one with the team." You joke, but even through the phone, you can tell he's not amused.
"Anyway, after I finally told them they were doing it wrong, we got the first goal and now we’re winning matches. It's been doing wonders for my self-image."
It was your turn now to roll your eyes. You didn't respond, which resulted in Jamie asking, "Are you still listening?"
"Yes! You're just lucky no one's come in for office hours right now and you can be the one to talk my ear off." You take off your legs from your table and stand up to stretch. You hadn't realized how long you'd been sitting there, listening to Jamie update you on his life, but it was enough that it led to a loud crack in your neck.
"Fine, I'll see you later, yeah?" He asks and you give a short hum as your answer. "Alright. Bye, love."
Had it been the first time he'd called you that at the end of a phone call, you would've fallen back into your chair. But after your weekend meet-ups had been mostly reduced to weekly phone calls due to the sudden increase in practices for Jamie, you had gotten used to his casual usage of the word.
But that didn't mean you didn't still get the butterflies when he'd call you that. Yet again, you were falling for your best friend. Only this time, you couldn't pass it off as some stupid childish crush that would pass in time. But at least, you were old enough to understand your feelings better.
Now, you were waiting for him to show up at your flat tonight. You have subconsciously even pulled out the ingredients for lasagna, one of his favorite dishes of yours. Christ, what was happening to you?
As you pull out the plates from the cupboard and get them ready at the dining table, a knock on your door pulls your attention away. Before you can even react, it opens to reveal Liv and Freddie, the former now sermoning you about the importance of locking your doors.
"Who's your guest?" Freddie asks, changing the course of Liv's train of thought. Your best friend's eyes widen as she realizes and whispers, "Is Jamie here?"
"Jamie Tartt?!" Freddie exclaims in the loudest voice you've ever heard from him. You try and shush him before you realize he summoned the footballer.
"Yeah, who's asking?" You hear him enter from the hallway, carrying his duffel bag with him. Only you can tell he's surprised by the additional company, but any other person would have taken his smile as an overly confident one. "How're you doing, Liv? And this is the soon-to-be mister, I suppose?"
"Freddie, and yes, that's me." He reaches to shake Jamie's hand, and the footballer takes it politely. "We should leave them to it, right 'hon?" Freddie grabs hold of Liv's hand, who does not share her fiancée's eagerness to leave — mainly to hear all about what's going on with the two of you, — but obliges anyway.
"Wait," Jamie stops them from leaving and pulls out something from the pocket in his duffle bag. "Since you're here, I'll hand them in person. Three tickets to the England match in a few days. They give some out to each player, and I was planning to give it to (Y/N) and I'm sure she would've given it to you two."
He's right, but you still faked offense for thinking she had no one else to give it, too.
"No, we couldn't," Liv replied, "you should give these to your family." You knew she was just being humble, that she desperately wanted those tickets, but she'd never automatically accept them.
"Nah, don't worry about that. They're all back in Manchester, so too far away to go the match anyway. Plus, it's a return for leaving that one," he nods towards you, "in the middle of Nelson Road. Without that, I'd never have gotten her back, so thank you." You smile at Jamie as he says that, who only winks at you.
"Alright, thank you so much, Jamie Tartt." Freddie takes the two tickets, before saying goodbye to the footballer.
"You owe me an explanation," are your parting words to your best friend, after having spent this whole time wondering how she and Jamie had met before. All she does is smirk at you before taking her fiancée's hand and leaving the flat with him.
"Here's yours," Jamie hands you your ticket, before rushing to grab something from his bag. "I have one more thing to show you, hold on." You see a flash of white as he pulls the item out and rushes to your bathroom.
You could only laugh. You haven't seen him this excited to show you something since he first showed you his team kit after he joined Man City, the memory of which gives you a hint as to what he wants to show off now. You take a seat on the stool next to the kitchen counter, before you hear his steps returning, placing your toes behind the metal footrest.
"Look out now... for the best striker on the England National Team, Jamie Tartt!" He introduced himself, before having a running start and jumping right in front of you and posing.
You smile brightly, barely being able to contain your joy at seeing Jamie so clearly proud to show off one of his best accomplishments. You knew how hard Jamie had been working to get to this point, from the moment you met him as children all those years ago. This is the Jamie you know and love, so proud and self-assured, who knew what he wanted and went for it.
"It looks perfect on you, Jamie." You say genuinely, as Jamie walks closer to you.
"Yeah? It's soft too, feel it," he offers his arm, though he's still far enough that you have to stand. You forget how you placed your feet and end up falling forward. Jamie's there to catch you and once again, you find your face too close to his own.
"Careful," he whispers, keeping his arms wrapped around you and his eyes on yours. Jamie helps you up and keeps his hands on your shoulders as you move to create space between you too.
"You're right," you try and break the tension. "The kit's real soft. So..." you turn around to find the dinner you've made still not plated. "Can you still make your own plate of food or are you too high-status to do it yourself now?"
"Ah, I don't want to dirty up the kit this early," he tries to joke, but you slap his arm playfully before walking over to the dining table.
"Oh my god, oh my god, we're here." Liv s.queals beside you.
"It's real. Oh, somebody pinch me. What if I offer Jamie to be my Best Man? My brother wouldn't mind, right?" Freddie added, dawned completely in merchandise.
"Christ, there's two of you now." You joke, but Liv plants a kiss on your cheek and interlock your arms as you walk to your seats.
Before you can even get settled, a text message from Jamie grabs your attention. Could you come here followed by, please.
You're confused by the vague message but try to follow it anyway. You weren't sure where 'here' was, but you excused yourself from Liv and Freddie and tried to head to where you assumed the locker rooms were.
It was risky, considering you were wearing a Tartt shirt and didn't look like anyone of importance, but it seemed like there wasn't much security on the way there. You turn the corner where you find Jamie leaning against the wall, but your footsteps cause him to jolt up. He instantly softens when he realizes who it is, and starts to come towards you.
He envelops you in a hug and the first thing he says to you is, "I might fuck this. I mean, they didn't put me on starting for a reason, right?"
"Jamie..." you whisper, returning the hug and then pulling away to try and look him in the eye, but he keeps his eyes low. " What happened to the guy who was confidently showing off his kit to me a few days ago? If they have any sense in them, they are going to sub you in, and you are going to do great."
"You always say that," he points out and you shake your head.
"And I have, like, a 99 percent success rate with it." You take hold of his face to try and get him to focus on you. "They wouldn't have put you on the team if they didn't think you were a capable and amazing player. Of course, I've known that since we were kids, but the entire world is realizing it now. Jamie Tartt, you are one in a million. You've believed that all your life, so why stop now?" Jamie finally looks you in the eye and you try to give him a comforting smile.
The past months you've spent with Jamie have taken out a lot of the surprise factor in the things he does. But before you knew it, Jamie's lips were on yours and now, you could name at least one thing he can do to keep you on your toes.
Almost as quickly, Jamie pulls back, "Shit, I'm sorry. I didn't—" but you interrupt him with a kiss of your own. You're not really sure how long you stay like that, but the moment Jamie returned the kiss, you knew time didn't matter. Then, of course, logic came back into your system and you had to pull away.
You're a bit out of breath, but you rest your temple against his, "You got this, Jamie." He pulls away before he gives you another hug.
His coach comes out of the locker room to call him back inside, and he turns to leave you but comes back to give you one last kiss on the cheek. "Bye, love." Love.
It takes everything in you to hold back from spilling everything to Liv as you get back to your seat and wait for the game to start.
"AFC Richmond's Jamie Tartt, winning his first cap for England, an unforgettable moment and well earned," the commentator announces at some point during the game, and Liv remarks that this is the loudest she's ever seen you cheer.
"Let's go, Jamie!" You shout and with the sea of England supporters at the venue, you're aware he can't hear you, but you hope it reaches him anyway.
And of course, you were right. He did amazing, plus you had only noticed now that he chose 24 as his number, which was his teammate's. He had told you about how Sam didn't get picked for the Nigerian team and how crushed he was about it, so seeing Jamie do such a touching gesture was only another reminder of how amazing — your friend? Boyfriend, if that could even be used? Childhood best friend? Ah, fuck it… — Jamie was.
You didn't get to see the footballer after the match, but he managed to send you a goofy selfie along with a 'thank you' message, indicating that he was back to normal, maybe even a bit more confident now. You send one back and close your phone as you return to your conversation with Liv. Maybe your mind was playing tricks on you, but you could still feel his lips lingering on yours.
"That's this class of students done," you said to yourself, before switching over to your laptop where Liv's guest list was open. The wedding was still in a couple of months, but even then, you were starting to feel the strain of being Maid of Honor.
It had been a few weeks since you even had a proper conversation with Jamie, let alone talk about what happened before the England match. You weren't really sure what you expected or wanted to happen. You were hoping Jamie would take the lead like he usually did, but even he was too busy to talk.
So recently, you've been diving straight into your work, hoping that by the time you were done, Jamie would finally send that message that he wanted to talk. But instead, the only person you've been having any non-academic conversation with was Liv.
You see a message from her pop up on your laptop, saying Have you seen this? Jamie's acting a bit weird.
You weren't sure what your best friend's standards were for "weird," but as you play the interview clip, you find yourself agreeing with her.
"I apologize to everyone, especially the kids." You watch him lean into the mic to say, and you scrunch your eyebrows in confusion, but your expression turns into worry.
You reach for your phone to message him, Hey Jamie, how are you? Do you wanna come over for movie night soon?
It was ten minutes later when you finally got a reply. Doing good. Can't see you right now though, busy with training. Sorry.
Now you were really getting anxious. You knew Jamie wouldn't be so mean as to ghost you for the kiss, but you couldn't help your brain drifting to that conclusion. No, Jamie wouldn't do that. It must be something else.
You look up the schedule of matches for Richmond for the next few weeks and sure enough, their next match is against Manchester City. You grew up in Manchester and knew just how strongly Man City supporters feel for their team, and how they feel about the ones who leave, too. It must be eating Jamie up going back there, especially now when you remember one of the last times they played against them.
Jamie had recounted to you in the past how his dad barged into the Richmond locker room after they'd lost the match, and how it took everything in him not to retaliate, but even then, he ended up punching him in the face. You held his hand and as if you signaled a green light, Jamie wrapped his arms around you and rested his head on your chest. You don’t really know how long you two stayed that way, but you ended up waking up to the sound of three missed calls from Roy to Jamie at 4 am.
And so, you decide to spend your break next week back in Manchester. You open your phone to message your parents and the speed of your mom's reply displayed their excitement. Can't wait, sweetie! See you soon, Mom and Dad love you.
"Oh my god!" Your mom exclaims as she opens the door and envelopes you in a hug quickly. You arrived around lunchtime, the day before the match, hoping to have time to meet up with Jamie and talk before it, though you haven't even been able to tell him you were in Manchester, too. "Dad went out to buy ingredients for a cake ‘cause we didn't expect you to get here so early."
You pull away from here and shake your head, "You guys didn't have to do that, Mom." You drag your suitcase across the threshold and slam down on the couch as soon as you reach it.
"Well, we haven't seen you in months and you haven't been here in Manchester in years! We were planning to have a whole thing for your return." Your mom explains as walks into the kitchen to make you tea, like she always did when she came to visit. At least this time, she wasn't criticizing you for the lack of a tea selection in your flat.
"Why have you decided to visit? You usually invite us to go to London during your breaks." She asks, walking back in with a tray of cups and a teapot.
It would be too hard for you to explain that the major reason (or person) that stopped you from coming back all these years was now the exact reason why you chose to travel all the way to Manchester, so instead you settle with, "Just didn't want you guys to take the long trip this time."
By the time your dad gets back with his bags of groceries, you have already changed into a tank top and pajama pants while your mom already made a late lunch for you three. You finally explain to the two of them how you got back in touch with Jamie after all this time, carefully omitting the reasons for your falling out, and are now worried about him playing against Man City.
"I mean, I'm sure it's hard for a lot of the players to play against their old team, but Jamie having to play a match against the team he spent his whole life aspiring to be a part of? I'm scared he's too shaken up, and he's not telling me anything either." You let out an exasperated sigh, and look down at your hands. "I'm really worried."
Your mom reaches out to take one of your hands. "Hon, you've never not been worried about Jamie. Ever since you two were kids."
You keep a solemn expression on your face, to which your dad adds on, as he takes your other hand. "Just do what you always did. Be there for him, and make sure he knows it. He needs your support more than anything, especially now that you're back in his life."
You let out a sigh, trying to absorb what they've just said to you, but you were so tired from the travel that you move to the couch and just try to relax. You end up drifting off into the night till you wake up to a message from an unknown number.
(Y/N)? I hope this is your number, it's Keeley Jones. We met before at the gala? Anyway, I hope you get this because we're following Jamie somewhere. He's been acting weird and I wanted to ask if you knew any special place he'd go to when he's stressed or going through something.
You don't have time to properly understand what she's asking and just go with your first instinct: Georgie. You shout up the stairs to your parents that you're heading out and grab a sweatshirt from your bag as you run to their house. It almost feels like deja vu, considering they've barely changed the exterior of the place.
You knock on the door and are received by Simon, whose surprise at seeing you back in Manchester doesn't faze you. You reciprocate his welcoming hug before asking, "Is Georgie home?"
"Yeah, she's just upstairs," he moves aside to make way for you to get inside the house, and you nod to him before running up to the second floor.
"Georgie?" You call out, and the call of your own name signals her presence. You walk into the main bedroom, one you remember vividly from when Jamie would rope you into taking some money from Simon's wallet — you always apologized on his behalf — when you were teenagers.
"Oh my goodness, I completely forgot you were coming home today! My mind's been all over the place. Welcome back, 'hon," she envelops you in a hug, which you're grateful for, but as you break apart, she notices your look of urgency. "What's got you here in such a rush?"
"It's about Jamie," you get straight to the point. "I'm worried about him and it's just that—" you're interrupted by Simon calling out to her.
She excuses herself, but you follow after her as she asks, "What was that, love? Someone at the door?"
You turn to go down the stairs when you spot Jamie waiting at the bottom. Georgie runs to hug her son and while your heart warms at the sight of this reunion, the trance is broken when Jamie spots you.
"When did you get here?" His accent's a lot thicker back in his hometown, you notice.
"Just before you did," you reply, but seeing as he returns his attention back to his mom, you instead walk down the stairs and past them to join Keeley and Roy whom you awkwardly greet.
"Well, we've got quite a number of visitors today. Who wants some sweet treats?" He offers, and you decide it's best to follow him.
You should've known that Jamie's "special place" would be his childhood home, and maybe it was the nerves that stopped you from thinking clearly. Now, you were just glad he was with Georgie now, someone who always knew how to cheer him up.
"Help me carry them out, yeah?" Simon asks, and you happily oblige, taking one of the trays into your hands. "Do you think Roy likes sweets?"
You shrug, genuinely unsure of the man’s food preferences, but Simon seems undeterred. You head to the living room and glance at the Jamie photo shrine, which seems to have grown twice its size after all these years.
You sit down awkwardly next to Keeley who once again greets you warmly, and only allow yourself to glance at Jamie once. It's like he's gone back to being a kid again, resting in his mom's arms as he tells her everything that's bothering him.
After a while, Jamie looks like he's ready to open up, so Georgie tells Simon to tour Keeley and Roy around the house. He agrees, and calls out your name, "You should come with us, too. You probably know some parts of this house better than I do, mainly Jamie's room."
You know he meant that innocently, but you can't help but feel your cheeks heat up at the mention of it. You nod and get up quickly, but not before looking back at Jamie and giving him a small smile. He returns it, and a part of you eases at the sight of it. He's going to be fine.
The four of you start in the kitchen and Keeley interlocks your arm as you lean in, "Did you get my message?"
You nod, "That's why I ran here as soon as I could. Georgie's got it, don't worry." You watch her instantly relax at your words, and you're touched by how much she cares for Jamie, even after he'd been a less-than-perfect boyfriend to her in the past.
Simon continues the tour and every once in a while, Keeley would find you in the photos and squeal about how cute the two of you were in them. She'd left Roy with Simon to learn all about you, along with how it was growing up with Jamie.
You reach the second floor and as Simon walks over to the room where you'd spent at least a fraction of your childhood, you suddenly remember how it's decorated. You try to hold in your reaction as Simon starts, "Here is the main attraction. Jamie's room."
It's just like how you remember it, with all the trinkets you two played with, the pictures of wins, and the trophies he got for them. You even spot a trophy you made for him after his team got second place once.
Your attention is pulled away by Roy's reaction to his poster, "Fucking hell." You chuckle as Simon explains just how devoted Jamie was to it.
"Oh, meat pies are done. Excuse me," he closes the door, revealing your personal favorite poster: Keeley's.
"Fucking hell," she imitates her companion, and you laugh even louder. She turns to you, "Have these two always been there?"
"Yup," you confirm, still chuckling.
"So whenever you two had sleepovers," something you mentioned to her during the door, "those two pictures of us were just hovering about you like that? How'd you manage?"
"Ah well, I got desensitized after a bit, really. Only after I realized Jamie would never take them down, even when I stayed with them for weeks on end. Just closed my eyes and faced the wall."
You decide to show them your own house, pushing back the curtain and pointing at your window. "Look, that's my bedroom. Jamie used to throw pebbles or beer caps to get my attention."
After a few moments of looking around the room, you notice Roy and Keeley sitting down on Jamie's bed, seemingly wanting to talk about something. You decide to excuse yourself and head to the kitchen to help out Simon, and also hopefully get the first taste of the meat pies.
You catch up with Jamie's step-dad as he checks on his pastries. Most of the times you've hung out with Simon were filled with him simply talking about his baking methods and new recipes he was trying out. But after a small lull, Simon's eyes lit up, and went out to grab something to show you.
"I sent a picture of this to Jamie back when I found it. Not sure if he showed it to you, but it is quite cute, don't you think?" He hands you a small photo of you and Jamie in the kitchen as teenagers. The way Jamie looked at you in it, you wondered how you'd feel now if he did it again. Of course, you’ve never been too careful with your surroundings, considering how you’ve never noticed the way Jamie’s eyes lit up every time he even just looked at you.
"Yeah, it's quite nice." You hear footsteps coming your way and hear a voice call out your name. You sit up when Jamie enters. "Hey, could we talk?"
Suddenly, all your nerves come back tenfold. You walk over to him and you head back to the living room, where Georgie is preparing to leave to give you two some space.
The first thing Jamie says as you two sit down is, "I'm sorry." Before you could even respond, he continues, "I didn't mean to ghost you and everything, I just... I was stressed getting ready for this match and going back here to Manchester and I didn't want to dump all of it on you. I'm really sorry."
"Jamie, you don't have anything to apologize for. You didn't do anything wrong and yeah, I missed you, but you needed space and I was okay with giving you that.” The footballer nods as if he’s digesting what you’ve just said. You take his hand into yours and decide to take your father’s advice, as you start, “If it's any consolation to the nerves you’re feeling, I hope you know that I'll always be here. The people that do love you will always be there to support you, including me." He smiles, causing butterflies to erupt in your stomach again.
"I missed you, too, by the way. Especially with the last time we saw each other at the match," he whispers and suddenly you can feel yourself blushing again.
"Yeah, we should talk about it," you offer, but you knew that there really wasn't much to say about it all. Staying in limbo between friends and something more wasn't always a bad thing, especially when it was with Jamie. The footballer already seemed to know what he wanted to ask you, but before he could even start, the house phone rang.
Simon comes into the living room, and informs you, "It's your mum, she's asking when you're heading back to the house?"
"In a bit," you tell him and he nods. You turn back to Jamie who's trying to hold back his disappointment at being interrupted. You start, "Maybe you guys should start heading back, too. It's getting late."
He nods, "Right." Jamie gets up from his seat and pulls you up in the process, before realizing something. "Do you want to come to the match tomorrow? I think I'll need the extra support. Plus, you were always my good luck charm before."
"Sure. You're lucky I brought my AFC Richmond shirt with me, too. I was just going to wear it around the neighborhood honestly."
"You should. Make sure everyone knows who your favorite Premier League player is." Jamie teases.
"Yup, Dani Rojas." You retort and he pretends to walk away offended, but you pull Jamie in and kiss his cheek as he wraps his arm around your shoulders.
"Come on, love, I'll bring you back to your house before we go. Like old times," Jamie offers and you happily oblige. You say goodbye to Georgie and Simon and Jamie leads you out the door and to your house.
It takes a few minutes before you can convince your parents to let go of Jamie this time, but you finally manage and promise to see him before the match tomorrow. He surprises you with a kiss goodbye before he jogs back to his house to get Roy and Keeley, looking back at you once more.
If you excuse your heart nearly stopping when Jamie got tackled, that may have been one of the best matches you've ever had the pleasure to watch in person. You had no idea what Ted said to Jamie that caused the sudden change in him, but the spark in the player suddenly came back. Getting back onto the pitch, hyping up the crowd's heckling — which you couldn't lie, turned you on a bit, — and even managing to make the goal with an injury? Only Jamie fucking Tartt could manage that.
Considering you had only planned to stay for the game and now had to make it all the way to London, it was a miracle that Keeley instead invited you to join them on the bus to head back. You rushed home to collect your things and say goodbye to your parents — who were already planning to visit you the week after, — and headed to the hotel as the team was loading up onto the bus.
Keeley was there waiting for you and planned to introduce you to the team, but considering a good number of them recognized you from the gala and the other members were too busy celebrating, you instead quietly made your way to the back of the bus where Jamie was resting, while she left to go ride the car with Rebecca.
Considering he had to stretch out the leg over a number of chairs, the coaches instead opted to sit in the middle of the bus, right in the action, as Ted called it.
While everyone celebrated, Jamie still seemed to be wrapping his head around it. He notices you in front of him and smiles widely. "Mind if I join you?" He moves a bit over to make some space for you next to him. "How're you feeling?"
He moves to wrap his arm around your waist and pulls you closer, "Good, better since I get to celebrate beating City." He pumps his fist in the air and you don't understand why you still find it endearing. He scans your body before announcing, "I like your shirt." He plants a kiss on your shoulder before looking back up at you.
"Thanks, Jamie. And what did I tell you? You were great! I'll lose my voice tomorrow from how loud I was cheering you on. Do you know how much energy it takes to be louder than all the booing?" You mention, and all Jamie could do was chuckle. “But it was worth it. So you knew there was at least one person in the crowd cheering you on for the entire match.”
"Thank you," His face falls slightly, as if realizing something, but picks up before he confesses, "I think I might messaged my dad." You turn to look at him properly, but there's no sign of fear in him; only relief. "I, uh, I don't think he was there today, but Ted told me I could at least try to forgive him. Not for his sake, but mine. I don't know, it made sense at the time, but—"
It's your turn now to interrupt him with a kiss. You're lucky no one has decided to look at the back of the bus this whole time. You hold his face as you do so and after a bit of shock, he reciprocates it. After, you wrap your arms around him. "I'm proud of you, Jamie. And I'll be here if you need any help with the message or just want some support when you do it, okay?"
Jamie has a soft expression on his face and smiles at you once again. He laughs at himself before remembering something the two of you left hanging last night, "So, now that all that is out of the way, don't you think we should talk about... this?" He gestures at the position the two of you are in, with your arms wrapped around his torso and his arm draped on your shoulders.
"What about it?" You try and act coy, but you can barely keep a straight face. "We're just friends who reunited after so many years. It's perfectly normal."
He laughs before replying, "It's just," Jamie hesitates a bit, before looking you straight in the eyes and adding, "I don't think friends kiss as often as we do, love."
"That is true," You pretend to think before asking, "Well, what do you want me to be then?"
"My girlfriend, maybe. Since best friend doesn't sound right anymore."
"No, not really. Plus, Liv will definitely fight you for it and that is a match you are not going to win." you exaggerate your headshake and laugh, before leaning into him. "But girlfriend sounds good. Though, I do have standards for my boyfriend."
"Oh, yeah?" Jamie tilts his head and smirks, and you almost fold then and there.
"Yup," you confirm and turn away to list them. "He should be tall, handsome, funny, overly confident but rightfully so, a great football player, knows nearly everything about me including my favorite singer, — "Stevie Nicks, duh," he interjects, — loves my cooking, and me, obviously." You stop before looking back at him and faking an epiphany, "Oh, and his name should be Jamie Tartt."
He takes a minute to think, before nodding, "Pretty sure I fit all those requirements, love." He laughs as he turns to you.
"Yeah? Well, alright then." You move to kiss him once more as Jamie pulls you closer by your waist.
He pulls away, but keeping you in that position before whispering, "I love you, so much."
"I love you, too." You whisper back.
But as you rest your head on his shoulder, some of his teammates decided to move the celebration towards the back of the bus. "Mind if we sit here?" Sam asks politely, though a little louder than he meant. You nod as some of the players start taking the seats around the two of you.
You can tell on their faces they knew something happened between you two, but neither mentioned it and instead continued their celebration with their striker.
You turn back to Jamie, who gives you a sweet, goofy grin when he notices your eyes on him, and all you can do is be grateful for this moment.
At age 7, you believed your best friend Jamie would be in your life forever. At age 19, you believed your best friend Jamie Tartt was gone.
But now, nearly two decades since that little Mancunian boy kicked that ball over the fence, you realize that you had gotten in right at seventeen. Your best friend Jamie Tartt would be the only boy, man, you'd ever truly loved. And you wouldn't want it any other way.
At age 7, Jamie Tartt thought you were his best friend. At age 19, he thought you were his biggest weakness.
But at age 26, he realized that only one thing has remained the same all these years: he is in love with you. That is the ultimate truth. And that's all he needed. You're all he needed.
A/N: yay! we only have the epilogue left, but i'm excited! honestly, i couldn't bring myself to make it anymore angsty, especially because they've already been through a lot. hope you all enjoyed this and thank you again for reading!

The Queen definitely dominated Shilo a lot, like we can all agree on that, right? That’s what normalized casually upending people’s free will to Shilo.
I’m just curious how far she took it. Shilo was capable of leaving his room and the castle, but was that because The Queen didn’t want to dominate him to never leave, or because that would’ve been a safety hazard? While Shilo was growing up did she dominate him whenever he wanted to stay up past bedtime? Whenever he didn’t want to eat his dinner yet? Whenever he asked one too many times to see the outside world, read new books, to have a friend? Did she dominate away tantrums, dominate him into sitting still for portraits, dominate him into apologizing after arguments?
Did she use her discipline to skip over all the times a normal parent would discipline their child or adapt to their needs? She’s an old, old creature, and grew up in a very different era, it might not have even seemed wrong to her, exactly, just a useful trick that let her speedrun parenting because she knew what was best for Shilo even if it deprived him of every opportunity to be a person.
Did that extend out to Jeffrey (assuming he’s actually their dad and not like, some guy that The Queen dumped Emizel on to hide him and just dominated into believing that he was Emizel’s father), back whenever they were dating/whatever the fuck led them to fuck? Did she dominate away rough patches, rewrite his memories of plans when something came up and she knew she couldn’t make it?
Did she ghoulify him?
Think about it. She’s this great, wise, powerful Queen of all vampires with enemies around every corner, and then she falls in love/?lust? with this frail, vulnerable human. He’s a weak spot that can be exploited, a hole in her armor, and that puts him in danger. His first line of defense seemed to be secrecy, but why not have his second line of defense be a bunch of blood points to use at will? Ghouls are stronger, heal faster, and even have limited use of disciplines! Heck, if she love loved him, then she’d be extending his lifespan so they could be together for all eternity, at the low low cost of his free will and independence. But hey, it’s not like he didn’t already love her, right?
I’m not sure what would’ve had to have changed for her to have cut contact with Jeffrey and Emizel, especially since she clearly didn’t learn any lessons because she still raised Shilo to be the way he is, but like. I just want you to imagine Jeffrey slowly transitioning out of being a ghoul once he’s cut off from The Queen’s blood, slowly realizing what happened, slowly realizing he’d had a kid while under a blood bond and all the fucked up shit that entails, and then having to wake up everyday and look at Emizel and be reminded of it all.
If he stayed away from The Queen under a level 3 blood bond then she probably explicitly told him to do so, maybe even dominated him into doing it, so even just taking care of Emizel might’ve been by her orders, and as he de-ghoulified he was actively choosing to continue to follow the last orders given to him by someone who put him through all of that. That might’ve strained his relationship with his son, just a little bit.
Idk if Charlie would’ve made things that dark, but I still doubt dating The Queen of a society that sees people as walking talking buffets went super well for Jeffrey.

So the Nevermore cast are all from different time periods, this is something we have all known for a long time. However, an important question I have in regards to this fact is the following: when are the cast going to find out they’re all from different time periods? While we have seen their different time periods clashing with each other, with the main example that comes to mind being Berenice’s and Lenore’s different slang words for drunk, we haven’t seen any of the characters have any proper suspicion about when they are all from or that they possibly aren’t from the same time period (and to be fair, why would they?) However, I do think they’re going to figure it out soon, and this is because of one thing: Duke’s coin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was quite surprised (pleasantly so, considering how sweet the scene we got out of it was) to see in episode 72 that the small detail of Pluto snaching the coin off Duke in episode 30 has become quite relevant, with Pluto sadly looking at while thinking about Duke and the conversation he and Eulalie have around it. It’s this conversation in question that highlights to me why this coin has come back in such a way; the coin’s date.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The coin is from 1912, and for almost all the misfits, this wouldn’t really make them bat an eye. For Duke, this is his coin, so he obviously wouldn’t question it’s date, with Eulalie comment on how new the coin looks suggesting that he died around 1912. For Berenice, it’s very clear that she’s from the 1920s, so the coin’s date wouldn’t raise any eyebrows for her. For Eulalie, with her singing the Itsuki Lullaby when she died, we know that the earliest she could have died was in 1935, when the lullaby was rediscovered by a school teacher. While she considers the coin to be really old and is curious about how it looks so new, it still wouldn’t raise any major concerns for her. For Pluto, with him considering the coin to be sorta old, if we’re right about him living through WWI, we could place his death some time in the 1920s. Once again, he would have no reason to think the coin is out of place. But you know who would think the coin is very out of place? Lenore.
Lenore is from the end of the Victorian era, and although we don’t have any in-comic confirmation at the moment, everything we have right now points to Lenore and Annabel dying in 1901. So for Lenore, Duke’s coin is from eleven years in the future. So, with Pluto planning to give Duke his coin back, what do you think would happen if she saw two of her closest companions exchanging a coin from the future and neither of them batting an eye about it?
To summarise, here’s my current guess on how things are going to go: Lenore and Pluto are going to successfully find and save Duke, getting him the nurses or at least somewhere safe for him. Once things settle a little (hopefully with Berenice and Eulalie joining them at this point), Pluto is going to give Duke back his coin, with Lenore being little curious and having a look at it, resulting in her seeing the coin’s date. Lenore is, very understandably, very confused and/or thinks she’s being fucked them, resulting everyone placing their two cent on what year it is, resulting in a collective ‘wait a fucking second’ as they all realise that something is up and they’re all from different time periods. This discovery then ends up being a good jumping board into their previously discussed plan on bringing all their suitcases to the hideout so they can all find out who they were.

i know you have so much on your plate rn but i can't stop thinking about Ezio-era Baker!Desmond and the shenanigan layers of ✨intrigue✨ going on with Ezio and Leo thinking he’s Giovani's bastard, and Maria inviting him to the villa on a whim ’cause she thinks her kids (and Leo) like the pastries, and Desmond misinterpreting absolutely everything because that boy is a Wreck™
what comes of it, tho?? is Desmond trying to alter history more than just pre-inventing exotic baked goods? is he already having to dodge assassins around Italy while trying to protect the Auditore family, getting on Giovani's radar and spooking him ’cause he can't figure out what branch he's from? or is Desmond holed up in his bakery trying very hard NOT to change anything ’cause hey he’d already saved the world he’d like to not fuck things up bad enough to have to do it again?
does Giovani catch a glimpse of him at some point (either just in the bakery or while Desmond’s out being assassin-y), and instead of thinking he looks like himself or Ezio (since this would be before Ezio gets the scar), thinks he looks eerily like the statue of Altaïr? as another layer of shenanigan, he could come to Leonardo with the idea of time travel but thinks that Desmond is from the PAST rather than the FUTURE, and Leo spends the whole convo trying not to blurt that he thinks/knows Desmond is GIOVANI'S kid
just. the confusion of this au speaks to me, since it’s ALMOST crack-y but also these fools are canonically FOOLS, and i love the way you blend angst with shenanigans. im also shippy at heart, so would love to see your take on that in this au if you have the time 👀
(thank you for reading, i hope you're doing well! 🧡)
As long as you guys are find that your asks are getting answered a month later, I’m alright with adding more to my plate XD (just to be clear, this is a first-in-first-out basis for both asks and replies/reblogs and I’m only about to clear Oct 13 XD)
The original Desmond becomes a baker in Renaissance Italy and gets mistaken as Giovanni’s illegitimate child idea for those curious.
In this one, Desmond only went as far as stop the Auditores from being arrested by dropping key documents showing Uberto’s treachery to the Medici. He stayed as far away as he could from the Auditores and only dropped off the evidence in Lorenzo’s bedside table one day, slipping into the darkness. Anyone who saw him actually thought he was a monk since he was wearing a monk’s attire (which he burned afterwards). This does lead to Giovanni and the thieves guild looking for him after since he hasn’t done any other Assassin related stuff and was simply living his life as a baker, they’re hitting a dead end. Desmond doesn’t plan to do anything else since he believes that the Auditores would be able to handle it from here and he’s betting on Giovanni finally starting Ezio’s training after learning that the Templars are after his family.
Giovanni’s first glimpse of him is when he checked the bakery from afar since his family seemed to like it so much. He just wanted to make sure it wouldn’t post any danger to his family and maybe even talk to La Volpe into adding it to the thieves’ patrol route just so they would have eyes on the bakery at all time. It’s gotten so popular that the Medici are even thinking of ordering from them so Giovanni figured he should do reconnaissance before it got to that point. When he saw Desmond, he doesn’t see the similarities between them, he saw Desmond looking a lot like the statue of Altaïr and he freaks out. Because, unlike Ezio or Leonardo, he does have an inkling of how powerful Those Who Come Before were. He has seen the Shroud and he has heard the tales of how Altaïr had mastered one of their weapons. And… if the Shroud could heal all and any injuries then… In this case, Giovanni doesn’t think Desmond is a time traveler, he thinks Desmond is Altaïr himself who has gained immortality thanks to the ‘powers’ of Those Who Come Before.
Thank you! I honestly like writing these ideas where it’s crack but not crack enough that it’s a bit confusing XD

i watched a movie last night about this couple that goes on a hiking/camping trip and on their way to the site they stop at this little roadside restaurant called "bigfoot's burger shack" and my brain immediately went omg but what if wayne and eddie owned a little diner off the side of the road on the way to a forest famous for "bigfoot sightings" and their restaurant was like totally cryptid themed. and then my brain spiralled...
it's dustin's birthday and he's in his cryptid era right now, so of course he is desperate to visit the forest best known for having the most bigfoot sightings.
robin is just as interested in cryptids as dutsin is (she's not a full blown conspiracy theorist or anything but she DOES get wildly entertained by them, and she loves to read up on them even if she doesn't necessarily believe/agree with some of them).
and because robin and dustin are so into it, steve gets roped along. although, is it getting roped along if you're the one that offers to drive and also plan the whole camping trip while you're at it? (plus, hey, steve's curious too.)
so steve robin and dustin head out to "bigfoot forest" or whatever fun name the locals and tourists alike have given it.
on the drive there they pass this little diner on the outskirts of the nearby town and decide to stop for a bite to eat before they finish the last stretch of the drive to the campsite. this place is one of those like cozy diner style places that's full of like locally handcarved furnishings and every square inch of the walls is covered in framed photographs and various signage and knick knacks of all kinds. except this place has fully capitalized on the nearby forest, because it's basically like a cryptid cafe - those photos on the wall are various "bigfoot sightings" and newspaper articles and clippings about bigfoot and other various cryptids. it's fun and it's very clearly a good business model lol.
this place, of course, is owned and operated by none other than wayne and eddie munson.
(i'm thinking the place is maybe called "benny's bigfoot buffet" and they took it over for benny hammond after he either died or mysteriously disappeared or just moved on.)
but anyways, steve robin and dustin stop there for lunch and they meet eddie and wayne and they all get to chatting and blah blah. eddie and wayne tell them plenty of stories of sightings - both ones they've heard from other people as well as their own (because of course they're believers).
eventually, steve robin and dustin have to leave because it's getting later and they want to make it to the campsite before it gets dark so they can set up.
blah blah blah. the first night is relatively normal, they hear some sounds and steve teases robin about it being bigfoot, and dustin gets excited about that. but they make it through the night. the next day they explore a bit. then when night falls, weird things happen. more sounds, only closer, louder, and they sound... like something. like an animal, like a creature. dustin and robin obviously go bigfoot but steve isn't so convinced. but then dustin runs out of the tent because he wants to try to get a photo or something and steve and robin chase after him and. and. annnnnnd.
he goes missing.
steve and robin comb the forest that night calling for dustin, searching for him. they don't find him though. but steve sees something. he sees bigfoot. (or what he is absolutely convinced is bigfoot now.)
they head to the munson's diner so they can use their phone to call the local police, and hopper callahan and powell roll up onto the scene and ask what happened and steve and robin tell them, and at first steve doesn't want to tell them about what he thinks he saw because he knows how that's going to play out. they're going to think he's crazy. but robin convinces him to maybe? or maybe she just tells them herself. but, as expected, they laugh at that. they tell them that bigfoot isn't real. blah blah.
of course, during all of this eddie and wayne were listening, they heard it all. and after hopper and co talk to them, eddie corners steve and is like tell me what you saw and there's something about him that makes steve feel like safe almost? like he can tell eddie and he won't laugh like the cops, he won't judge steve, he won't call him crazy. so he tells eddie and eddie looks spooked, but also excited and he tells steve yeah. that sounds like bigfoot.
and blah blah they end up taking things into their own hands and doing the investigating themselves, steve robin and eddie. (maybe they call in some reinforcements in the form of eddie's friends from town? local journalist nancy wheeler, photographer jonathan byers, max mayfield, fellow cryptid enthusiast)
and i literally have not thought of anything past this or what actually happened to dustin or how they find him or if bigfoot is actually real in this or if they end up unconvering some huge government conspiracy instead or something lmaoo. but yeahhhhhhh. oh and also ofc steddie happens along the way lol.
just. cryptids. bigfoot. spoooooooky. pacific northwest forest vibes. appalachian munsons. yeahhhhhh.

The Edo period—the final era of feudal Japan. daimyos, samurais, and the common class, all with a purpose to help society. After her father lost his money and status when she was a child, y/n works as a maid in a teashop, following courtesans and cleaning up after their jobs. When the head of the Gojo clan comes in one night, she doesn’t expect to see him again, much less have him call on her.
Tumblr media
On a busy night, Madame Ino finds you. You recognize the pleased look on her face as the one she has when a favourable customer shows up.
“Y/N.” She looks down at you. “Clear the Daimyo’s favourite room.”
You raise your eyebrows in surprise. Daimyo Gojo? “Yes, ma’am.”
She left just as quickly, not giving you any more information.
You rushed to where she told you, your head filled with thoughts of your conversation with Miwa. Perhaps you’d get to see him—this elusive shikigami who seems to place a spell on every woman he glances upon. You wonder how you’ll react if you see him. You try to push that thought to the side for now, but you remind yourself that right now, you need to clean a room. Madame Ino doesn’t accept slow work from the maids. You respected Madame Ino, hardly ever thinking ill of her; she was harsh but kind enough to treat the staff with respect. The reputation of a high-class teashop can only be maintained if the staff is quiet and out of sight, as she often reminded you. As you gather your cleaning supplies and make your way to the designated room, you can't help but feel a sense of anticipation lingering in the air. Madame Ino's Teashop has always been a place of elegance and sophistication, attracting a clientele that appreciates the finer things in life. The thought of encountering someone as captivating as the man rumoured to have a spellbinding effect on women fills you with both excitement and trepidation.
Upon sliding the door open, you run into a wall, falling back onto your butt and hissing in pain. The wall in question looks down at you. Shades of blue capture your gaze, holding your body captive in awe. Your breath gets caught in your chest, unable to escape your parted lips as you stare up at his soft white locks.
He's beautiful. His piercing blue eyes seem to hold a universe of secrets, and his chiselled jawline accentuates his striking features. It's as if time stands still in that moment, and you can't help but feel a magnetic pull towards him.
His head tilts, eyebrows raise a fraction of a centimetre, and lips lift in the corners. It's so effortlessly casual that it feels oppressive. The haughty look he gives you as you're trapped on the ground, not holding out a hand to offer you up, makes him seem amused. You can't help but wonder what thoughts are running through his mind, hidden behind that enigmatic expression. His confident demeanour and lack of concern for your predicament only add to the air of mystery surrounding him.
"Funny." His voice drawls, deep and velvety, sending shivers down your spine. It's a voice that commands attention, filled with a hint of mischief that leaves you curious about the thoughts swirling in his mind. "People don't usually look at me like that unless they're planning to kill me."
You want to apologize, to say that no, you don't want to kill him; you were just caught off guard. You want to excuse yourself, completely embarrassed for walking in on him and then falling on your ass. You want to do so many things.
But all that comes out of your mouth is a squeak—akin to a mouse that's just been trapped by a cat.
His chest vibrates with silent laughter. And as he lowers his head slightly, smiling eyes not leaving yours, the only feeling in your stomach is one of prey, faced with a predator that wants to eat them. You desperately wish you could muster up the courage to speak, to explain that it was a genuine mistake and that you mean no harm. However, your voice remains trapped in your throat, leaving you feeling helpless and vulnerable under his gaze. The intensity of the moment hangs heavy in the air, making it clear that he holds all the power in this situation.
"Y/N!" Madame Ino's voice is shrill, and your wide eyes snap to her horrified look as she analyzes the situation.
"Ma'am!" Your speech finds you once again, and you scramble onto your knees, bowing deeply. "I am so sorry—"
"Leave!" She cuts you off, and there is an urgency in her voice that makes you run away immediately. You don't even bother to excuse yourself to the Madame or the Daimyo, preferring to be as far away as you can from the scene. Tears well up in your eyes as you flee, the weight of disappointment and shame weighing heavily on your shoulders. You can't help but wonder if this mistake will cost you your position in the teashop. It was a miracle the madame took you in anyway; you know that if she were to kick you out, you would never find a place as favourable as this one.
And for the rest of the evening, you aren't called to do anything anymore; instead, you sit in your room, biting anxiously at your fingers, awaiting Madame Ino's reprimand.
When the sun starts to rise, Miwa slides open the door with haste.
"Is it true?" She’s out of breath.
You can’t answer her; the only indication is the nervous tears that well up in your eyes, so she pats your back and tells you calming assurances that the Madame wouldn’t throw you out for something like that, and you two end up falling asleep beside each other.
When you wake up the next day, you don’t bother to relax, instead rushing to work, the anxiety of last night still eating at you.
That night, your footsteps are feather light; rooms seem to clean themselves as if by an apparition; not even Miwa can pin you down unless you are asleep beside her, curled up on the futon, and silently breathing. You feel the need to prove to Madame Ino that keeping you would not prove detrimental to her business. When she says you can stay, you almost burst into tears of joy. And as retribution for embarrassing the teashop, you now work yourself silly.
Yet you can't get the daimyo out of your head. He truly was ethereal. His presence was captivating, like a fleeting dream that lingered in your thoughts long after you woke. The way he carried himself with grace and authority left a lasting impression on you. It was as if his very essence was woven with a touch of otherworldliness, making it impossible to forget him. Truly, he must be a shikigami.
The more you think of that moment with him looking down on you, the more you start to feel like you can remember every little thing about it. His amused look in the dark of the moonlight, the perfume that crept around him, not too overpowering, and his nonchalant demeanour at the sight of a maid running into him.
"Y/N." The madame's voice pulls you from your reverie.
You turn on your heels, crouching to the floor in a bow and tilting your head down as you greet her. "Yes, Madame?"
But you don't hear her request. The uncharacteristic silence in the air is concerning enough for you to lift your eyes and witness, for the first time, the Madame in a state of anxiety. Her polished lips are littered with soft bite marks, and her gaze doesn't look at you but rather through you.
You open your mouth, about to ask what's the matter, she cuts you off.
"The Daimyo is calling for you." She utters.
Your heart drops. For what reason could he possibly wish to call on you? Except for the obvious reason that a woman is called for in a tea house. Your mind races, trying to come up with any other possible explanation for the Daimyo's summons. Perhaps he needs to have a room cleaned that he is not satisfied with. However, deep down, you cannot shake off the nagging feeling that it may indeed be related to the traditional role of women in a tea house.
Your mouth is too dry to respond with words. Madame Ino grabs your arms and hoists you up, the look in her eyes not getting any better as she once again bites her lip.
"There is no time to make you presentable." Her eyes survey your body, the sheer vision causing her brows to scrunch with worry.
Her sight locks with yours; in a moment, a hundred words are exchanged, and you know with absolute certainty the reason Lord Gojo has called for you. Your heart drops.
Madame Ino ushers you out of the room and along the corridor.
"When you get in there, rid yourself of your kimono." She tells you.
"But Madame," you plead, "I'm not a courtesan; I have no idea what to do."
"I know, child." Her eyes meet yours. "But you do not disobey the Daimyo."
As you make your way through the maze-like hallways, she gives you instructions in a hushed whisper. However, as you proceed, the erratic beating of your own heart begins to drown out your hearing. Only when you are stopped outside the room does your mind come back to you, but the Madame is already out of sight. Staring at the door, the weight of reality comes crashing down on your shoulders. You take a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves. The thought of disobeying the Daimyo fills you with fear and uncertainty. With a trembling hand, you reach out and call out a small "excuse me" before sliding open the door.
With crossed legs and his head in his hand, he sits on the mat in the middle of the room. Your mind doesn't comprehend the fact that he isn't on the bed, only taking note of the piercing stare he has as he nods his head for you to step inside.
You quickly obey, shutting the door behind you before you stare dumbly at him. His gaze is fixed on you—the same predatory look that takes you back to your last meeting. The silence in the room is suffocating, making your heart race even faster. You struggle to find the right words to say, feeling cornered.
But then the Madame's words come rushing back to you, and your shaking hands reach for the collar of your kimono, pulling it down to show the slope of your shoulders. Lord Gojo's eyebrows raise slightly, but no other change in his expression sends doubt into your mind about whether or not he likes what he's seeing. With your shoulders exposed, the fabric gets caught, and the obi around your waist is too tight to allow the kimono to slip off your body. You don't know whether to mentally thank or curse Miwa for tying it so tight. With a huff, your fingers shakily move to your back in an attempt to free the obi, your eyes flitting to the Daimyo's to see a look of intrigue on his face.
Just as you manage to grasp what you need, a voice just outside the room calls, "I'm coming in."
The door opens too quickly for you to do anything. In your compromising attire, you come face-to-face with a tall man. The first thing you notice is the sheathed sword at his waist, indicative of a samurai, and with your head craning up, you find his look of horror planted on you.
With absolutely no grace, you squeal, nearly tripping over yourself as you back away and pull your kimono back up, the samurai in front of you holding up his hand to cover you from his sight as he sends a pointed glare towards the Daimyo.
"What is she doing?" He hisses, and your wide eyes snap to Lord Gojo.
With an amused smile on his face and a slight bounce in his shoulders, the Lord laughs.
"I don't know, to be honest." He says. "Without a word, she started undressing. You'd think I was paying her."
"What?" You squeak out, gaining the attention of both men. "You—you didn't call me here to..."
But you don't finish your question because the Daimyo throws his head back and lets out a deep and bellowing laugh. Though the sound was melodic, you couldn't help but feel immense heat in your face at the situation.
As the Daimyo's laughter subsides, he looks at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Oh, my dear," he says, his voice filled with amusement. "I called you here to discuss something of interest to myself and my friend, not for any other reason."
Relief washes over you as you realize your assumption was completely off-base. But you can't help but be curious about what the Daimyo and his samurai could possibly need from a maid like yourself.

PoV (Y/N):
It was a terrible time. After that whole Terminus shit our group was badly beaten and we didn't know where to go. We ran out of food and hardly had anything to drink. And what didn't make things any better was the fact that I was pregnant. I was in my last months and it was getting harder and harder to keep up with the others. Daryl and (D/N) always stayed close to me and supported me. Sometimes it really took me emotionally to see how quickly she had grown and now she was going to be a big sister. But unlike her, her little sibling will grow up without violence from her father.
Daryl and I had planned it, of course, and after a lot of talking and planning we decided to have a child together. The embarrassing part was that we had to discuss everything with Rick and prepare everything. We had been given a private room, but Rick wanted to put guards outside the door. Luckily Daryl had said something against it, so we had peace and quiet. Daryl had also taken good care of me during the pregnancy.
(D/N), on the other hand, was always way too curious. She kept staring at my belly and I noticed that she had asked Michonne or Carol where the children came from. But both of them had repeatedly waved her off by saying that she should ask me and Daryl. Of course, Daryl noticed this too and he mentally prepared himself to have to answer the question.
At Terminus everything just got more stressful, the fear of being eaten by living people was frightening and I was incredibly afraid of losing (D/N). Carol came to save us just in time, but I had barely felt a kick from the baby since then. But now, whenever I ate something small, it would kick slightly, which made me sigh with relief every time.
After not even too long, Aaron found us and brought us to Alexandria. It was all set up so beautifully and safely that it felt like a dream at first. But when I was told that I could be taken to the infirmary, I pinched myself. And no, it was all real.
Daryl and (D/N) accompanied me to the doctor in this small town and everything was checked out. The baby was okay and would probably be born soon. I was suggested to stay at the infirmary until the baby came. Daryl was against it at first, but after I agreed, he remained silent and looked at everyone threateningly. (D/N) was also against it at first, but she didn't speak up either. She knew she didn't have a say in this case. So the two of them went to our new house that same evening to prepare everything there.
PoV Daryl:
We had prepared everything in the new house where we were going to live for a while. Everything was ready and some were already ready to rest. But even though everything was so full, I felt something empty inside me. It pissed me off. I love (Y/N), (D/N) and also our future child, but somehow it annoys me that I've become so soft with them. But I didn't want to change it, I was happy and nothing would change that. "Daryl?" I suddenly heard someone. I looked at (D/N). Her hair has grown and she has grown too. She looks more and more like her mother and she was just as strong as (Y/N). "Wha' is it, lil' brat?" I asked her.
She lets out a quiet sigh before she sits down on her sleeping bag. Between mine and (D/N)'s sleeping bag is actually always (Y/N)'s. Well, I put her sleeping bag between ours anyway, but her sleeping bag was empty and cold. "I have a question…" I had to swallow hard, the fear building up inside me again. Fuck, I hadn't thought up a lie yet. Should I tell her the truth? But she's not even 13 years old. I nod nervously at her before I sit down next to her. "Wha' is it…?" I asked, even though I already knew what it was about. (D/N) looked me seriously in the eyes before she sat down straight. "Where do children come from? How do you make children? How did you and Mom manage to get another child in her? And why does it have to be inside her before it can come out? Where does it come out from?"
She had so many questions, my head even started to spin slightly. Behind me I could hear Carol giggling, which made me look at her pissed off for a moment. But she just turned away innocently and then continued talking to Tara. Hissing, I then turned back to (D/N), who looked at me with determined eyes. Why was she so interested in knowing something like that? I'll probably never know. "Well… uh… ya know… ya have a cun-!" Before I could finish my sentence, Rick walked past me just behind me and he pulled my hair hard.
I growled as I watched him go, but he just gave me a pleading look. As if he knew I was about to tell (D/N) the truth. So I sighed quietly before turning back to (D/N). Her expression hadn't changed at all. "Well… uh…" I tried again, but this time with a lie. Even though I didn't like lying to her. "Yar motha and I… we love each other so hard that… aliens put a child in her stomach." Everyone around us went quiet and I could feel the confused and amused looks on me. "Aliens?" She asked again. "Yeh… aliens…" I mentally beat myself up, I had never said anything so stupid before. “I don’t think that aliens are real, Daryl…” “Have ya seen the dead people here?” Now (D/N) looked at me confused before looking at Carl. "Alright… cool… I guess…?" She just mumbled quietly.
Her (E/C) eyes just looked at me suspiciously. I was incredibly uncomfortable and my ears turned red. I quickly looked down so she couldn't see my expression. "And… how will the kid get out…?" My whole body tensed when (D/N) asked that. Little beads of sweat formed on my forehead and I had to swallow hard. What the hell was my problem? I could fight walkers, I could fight people, even kill them. And now I have damn problems explaining to a child what sex is for and how to have children? "W-well… Ask yar motha! I'm not the woman!" I then said, overwhelmed.
With quick movements I grabbed my crossbow and walked out of the house. My heart was still pounding wildly against my chest, but the fresh air felt very good and I calmed down a bit.
PoV (Y/N):
I lay awake in the hospital bed and let my hand slide over my baby's belly. Although I was tired, I just couldn't fall asleep. Too many thoughts were going through my head and I missed Daryl and (D/N). Actually, it was completely idiotic to miss them both, they only sleep a few houses away from me. "How should I name you…?" I then murmured quietly. I looked at my belly and the baby stepped right under my palm. Smiling, I kissed my fingertips gently before rubbing them on my belly. "Maybe DJ, if it's a boy…" I had to giggle at that thought. But my smile disappeared immediately when I heard a loud crack. My gaze went to the window, which was slightly open, only the curtains obscured the view into the room. Out of reflex, I reached next to me, where my knife usually lies, but it wasn't with me. Annoyed, I hissed quietly before holding my breath and staying as quiet as possible.
Swallowing hard, I saw a broad figure approach the window and gently push the curtains aside. "If you come in here, I'll call my husband. He'll bust your ass!" I shouted and the movements stopped for a moment. But after just a few seconds the curtain was pushed aside and Daryl looked at me, slightly confused but also a little embarrassed. I breathed a sigh of relief, but a certain shame also spread across my cheeks. "Yar husband? Since when are we married?" He asked amused.
I looked away from him, sulking, as the archer quietly climbed into the room. With quick but quiet steps he moved towards my bed and sat down next to me. He briefly kissed my baby belly before giving my forehead a kiss. "I messed up…" "Nah… you're doing great with all this…" Daryl just shook his head and I saw his cheeks turn bright red. Amused but also confused, I looked at him closely. "Daryl? What have you done?" "Nothin'… jus'… well…" He hesitated and then looked away, at my belly.
I slowly sat up and kissed him gently. “It’s okay… I won’t be mad, I promise…” “… I told (D/N) tha’ aliens put a baby in yar body…” My eyebrows shoot up and I look at Daryl in disbelief. As if I didn't believe that he really did that, but he didn't lie to me. In the whole time we were together, he had never lied to me. "You did what?" "I can explain…" We remained silent for a moment, my waiting gaze remaining on him. "… 'kay… I can't explain…" He then murmured quietly.
Sighing, I put my hands on my stomach before shaking my head slightly. "Okay… I-'m sure, we can handle this after the bi-!" Before I could finish my sentence, I was suddenly struck by a strong pain. My legs became wet and damp and my breath came out in jerks. In a panic, I reached into the bed frame and lay flat on the bed. Daryl saw me panicking, his hands at my sides. "G-go and get the doc!" I then shouted loudly. I clenched my jaw tightly while Daryl just nodded and then went out to get the doc. Breathing heavily, I squeezed my eyes shut so I could concentrate on the pain.
PoV Daryl:
As quickly as I could, I pulled the doc into the room, away from (Y/N), who was screaming louder and moaning in pain. The doc rubbed his eyes briefly before looking at (Y/N) with wide eyes. He immediately went next to her and pulled his tools towards him. "Daryl, wait outside." "Nah, fuck off, doc!" I shouted at the doc, but he just gave me a stern look while his hands spread (Y/N)'s legs. I looked at it uncertainly for a moment before I growled loudly and left the room. I closed the door only slightly so that I could at least hear everything.
While I listened to the doc talking to (Y/N) and (Y/N) always screaming loudly, my face sometimes twisted. I felt sorry that I could only listen, but why the hell wasn't I allowed in?
"What's happening here!?" I heard someone shout. I looked at the entrance door where (D/N) was standing. She looked at me in shock, but when she heard her mother, her eyes widened and she tried to go into the room. But I wrapped my arms tightly around her. "Stay here, damn kid!" I admonished her. But (D/N) hit my chest hard, hoping that I would let her go. But I didn't. "Daryl, let me go! Mom needs me!" "Nah! The doc is with her…"
She didn't listen to me, but kept trying to walk past me. God, she got her mother's stubbornness too. After several minutes, the screaming stopped and my whole body tensed. (D/N) also stopped when she no longer heard her mother and tears formed in her eyes. "Dary…" She spoke quietly to me, her voice very weak. I heard the doc walking around the room before he opened the door and looked at me. He just looked at me silently, his cold eyes boring deep into mine. "Mom!" (D/N) screamed and pulled herself from my arms.
Before I could even react, she was already next to (Y/N), who was lying in bed, breathing heavily. The baby was in her arms. Our baby. I stayed quiet for a moment before I walked past the doctor and went to (Y/N) and (D/N). I immediately sat down on the bed next to (Y/N). The baby was crying loudly and only had a thin blanket wrapped around its lower body. The umbilical cord was still on its belly button. Rick had told me about it, but somehow it still seemed so surreal and disgusting. "It's a boy by the way." I just heard the doctor say. Maybe I had misheard, but his voice sounded tired and annoyed, which is why I glared at him briefly. But my attention immediately went to (Y/N) and our son.
"Ya don´t really have a name for him, righ´?" I asked as I threw away the severed umbilical cord and then gave her a kiss. (D/N) had now calmed down again and she looked at her little brother admiringly. "Well… at first I thought about DJ… you know, because Daryl Jr…." I had to suppress a smile, but then I nodded slightly. “Wha not?” My question made (Y/N) look up at me, (D/N) took her brother in her arms and tried to calm him down. "What do you mean…?" "Wha shouldn´t we name him DJ?" "B-because well… I… don´t know…" She looks down at her hands and plays with them. I quickly put my hand on hers and kissed (Y/N) lovingly. "We´ll name him DJ…" I then murmured softly against her lips.
(Y/N) smiled lovingly at me before nodding and then looking at (D/N). "You are an alien baby, do you know that?" She whispered to her brother. Swallowing hard, I stared at the girl while I felt (Y/N)'s pissed off look on me. Maybe I should have just been honest with her.

Hello!
I liked your post about Anne de Bourgh probably just being sick, and another question came to my mind with regard to her.
I am quite astonished to see, that in a lot of JAFF, when he can't get Elizabeth, Darcy marries Anne de Bourgh. Usually there is some hidden motivation behind that: for example she is pregnant and he wants to save her reputation, or he wants to give her an opportunity to escape from Lady Catherine (relying on the non-canon assumption, that Anne is suffering under her mother's care) etc. For me it is a big question whether Darcy would marry her under any circumstances, and I am curious to hear your opinion about that. I always love your thoughtful answers!
Thanks
This question is in reference to this post.
As a general rule, I think that if Darcy meant to marry Anne de Bourgh, he would have already done it. So no, I don't think he'd marry her.
Anne's age is unclear, but the cradles line implies that she and Darcy are close in age, which is around twenty-eight. That isn't terribly old for Darcy, but it is for Anne if she's expecting to produce some children. I do think Anne being around Darcy's age makes sense, because it makes Lady Catherine more desperate. She's probably been previously thinking to herself, "Darcy is enjoying his youth, lots of time to marry" but now the deadline is feeling near and she's starting to wonder when Darcy will do his duty... (because obviously he's not going to squelch on her, right? RIGHT?)
Often I'll see in JAFF Darcy giving up on love after Elizabeth and marrying Anne out of duty, but that seems out of character to me. There are lots of women out there, I feel like Darcy would just try again. He's only twenty-eight, he can find someone else he loves! I really think that before he met Elizabeth at Pemberley, he was planning on doing just that. He thought it was over.
As for saving Anne from her mother, which I don't think is a real concern, there are other ways to do that if Darcy really thought it was a problem. He could invite Anne for a visit to Pemberley or his house in London. He could talk to his uncle, who would have more standing to talk to his sister about it. But it's unlikely he would see this as his duty or even as something he interfere with. Lady Catherine is Anne's mother, he is the nephew, it's not his place. Those hierarchies were very important in that era.
If Anne were pregnant or something... this one bothers me so much! It's SO OUT OF CHARACTER! Darcy cares about Pemberley, he would not want some random kid as his possible heir! If he has already rejected Anne as a suitable wife, why would he accept her now that she is "ruined"? If he really cares about Anne, he could find her a suitable husband with his money, power, and connections, he doesn't have to marry her himself. And again, this isn't his problem. This is Lady Catherine's responsibility.
(Not to mention how freaking misogynistic it is for JAFF to imply that Lady Catherine is so incompetent that Darcy has to help her run her estate. Women can run their own freaking estates!!!)
So to sum up: No, Darcy would not marry Anne, under any circumstances. Maybe if Lady Catherine kidnapped Georgiana and held her for ransom. (Don't write that, I beg of you)

OK my random question for you to think over is— If you could schedule some bonding time between Jean Valjean and any one of Les Amis, which Ami would you choose? Who would he click with/who would help him out the most/who would be the best most helpful Buddy for him to have ??? Or would you need to pick multiple Amis?
(This may or may not be related to a future fic idea I have planned. I have asked myself this question but currently do not know the answer, so I am curious about your thoughts! You always have great Les Amis takes)
OK before I get into this, I want to be clear that I think Cosette does an AMAZING job with Valjean's emotional Everything, but (a) she's a kid (b) she's HIS kid (c) no one person, no matter how close or important, can ever supply all of another person's emotional needs, even if they're a lot less traumatized than Valjean to start (d) a major problem with Valjean is Social Isolation, which only people Besides Cosette can alleviate (e) that is just the start of the issues that Cosette can't and should never have to handle alone! So no consideration of adding Other Friends to Valjean's life should be taken as an insult from me to Cosette (and I know you wouldn't , but people get weird). Cosette is a star.
Also: I am in all of this assuming a setting/ series of events leading to Acquaintance that does right by both parties ; importantly, that means Valjean is sure, somehow, that none of these men are romantically interested in or romantically interesting to Cosette. Maybe it's post- marriage, maybe it's an AU, maybe Whatever. Valjean's not doing his Lion With a Dog routine about it.
OK THAT SAID, let's Consider:
Enjolras: if they met outside a barricade, I can see them getting along very well! Unfortunately, that's because without pressing political action or conversation be thrown at them, I can imagine them both just sitting quietly and reading or being lost in their thoughts for as long as they're hanging out. Even GIVEN a political topic, like..Valjean is not gonna argue with anything Enjolras says and Enjolras is already gonna say it and they are just...gonna continue to Agree and then go back to Quiet Reading Time. Parallel Play For The Cats. Valjean will think Enjolras is a pleasant young man, Enjolras will think Valjean is a restful older gentleman, they will go to the library at the same time every Wednesday and nod hello and read in chairs near each other and never talk. Probably exactly the kind of interaction Valjean wants, and not at all what he needs to get out of his routine.
Combeferre: a very strong option!! assuming they've gotten talking about Nearly Anything, Combeferre can find the Fun Conversational Trivia in any subject. I bet Valjean would LOVE to hear about how steam engines work and the latest discoveries about bees or rubber or tinctures of opium. Valjean might be willing to tell him Cool Gardening and Metallurgy Knowledge and Combeferre would LISTEN. Combeferre is sharp and cutting about Interests and Ideas, but shows no signs of being someone who wants to get more emotional or personal with people than they're already setting up. This could be a great Hobby Buddy friendship and that's something Valjean really needs! Potential Issues: if they DO run into the sort of conversation where they're debating ideas, Combeferre does not seem to have an Easy Mode. IDK how much Valjean would be willing to enter Debate Thunderdome about politics or social issues; I worry greatly that he would shut down in Automatic Defense System Mode. But if they can work around that, Combeferre could be so good for getting him interested in the outside world!
Prouvaire: Much as above for Combeferre, except Prouvaire is already something of a gardener, DOES have a Gentle mode for debates, AND is goth, which would surely speak to Valjean's " some alive people like to be in coffins too" soul. Also lbr we know Prouvaire is on the 420 Crew in any era and it might do Valjean some real good to get baked once in a while. Strong potential here.
Feuilly: HE'S LIKE THE SON VALJEAN MIGHT HAVE KNOWN, or the grandson really-- as I recall, we've done the math and figured out that Feuilly really might be in the right age range to be one of Valjean's nibling's kids. I don't know how much Valjean has ever considered international politics but I bet he would deeply resonate with the plight of refugees and the displaced, which after all is a lot of the real issue. And maybe from there they can even get into how this is all systemic and Valjean might start to understand how he's not Uniquely Horrible if these injustices happen to so many people!!! A Little !!! Possibly!! Either way, they can get earnest and emotional over just wanting everyone else to have a better deal than they got. Go Team Lower Class Orphans Too Good For This World !
Courfeyrac: listen Courfeyrac's a delight and all but..he's just very bourgeois student. He is. Even assuming we're in the best situation where he and Valjean are talking politics and social issues enough for Valjean to NOT just mentally write him off as Standard Student Guy, I suspect Courfeyrac's many charms are just the wrong ones here. I'm not saying they can't get along, I think Courfeyrac can probably get alone with nearly anyone, but this is gonna be one of the harder options for any real connection.
Bahorel: you know I was all ready to go on a big ramble about how this could go multiple ways until I remembered the ONE THING, THE ONLY THING that gets Valjean to really open up and talk about his past is watching a younger man make horrible life choices that could get him arrested, never mind about trying to get Valjean to open up, Valjean is gonna trauma-dump on Bahorel so hard in the first fifteen minutes of them actually hanging out. And unlike Montparnasse, Bahorel pays attention and gives a damn about other people, and he is SO ready to get into how the legal system is pure evil and screws everyone over. Hating the legal system is a major component of his personality! I had honestly not really realized it until making this post but wow this will, eventually, be So Good for Valjean's mental health. (I am perhaps being a little silly here but I do think, on consideration, that Bahorel's over the top Everything would be on balance kinda reassuring for Valjean; plus there IS the goth factor XD Bonus points if it's a Better Post-Barricades setting where Bahorel's taken in Gavroche and they can bond over Unexpected Child Acquisition)
Legle: For Legle, see Courfeyrac, I'm afraid. You KNOW I love Bossuet so very much but he speaks 90 percent in too-smart-by-half puns and references and his entire social presentation depends on knowing how to parlay a bourgeois social skillset into Endless Crash Space. He's super weird and an incredibly good guy For Real but I don't know if Valjean would put enough effort in to realize that! Like with Courfeyrac, I feel like this would just be a Polite Acquaintaceship. Open to being convinced otherwise though!
Joly: ..ok I know Joly is also Student Guy as heck, but he's also direct and enthusiastic and overtly sweet in a way that Courfeyrac and Legle aren't. I can see Valjean enjoying his company somewhat the way he enjoys Cosette's actually-- here's someone who will be cheerful and chattery about things that he, Valjean, does not really know or care about. I still don't know if they'd connect on any deeper level but I could buy Valjean actively noticing and enjoying Joly's company.
Grantaire: HAAAAAHahahahhahaAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAH *runs out of breath* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAAAAAA hahahaha nooooo. No. Nooooooooo. Grantaire talking to Valjean would go about like Grantaire talking to Javert in the I Mis Miniseries. Grantaire will talk! You cannot stop him unless you are named Enjolras! Valjean will nooooot care.
...Writing this up has made me reflect on what I think Valjean really needs out of a potential friend and it's - someone to do the talking - shared interests, or new interests they can be enthusiastic about while he nods ahead - a willingness/ ability to get HIM to talk at least sometimes ?? maybe?? - shared goth vibes or at least the ability to understand that sometimes u__u you just gotta be in a coffin now u__u - ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY overt disdain for The Rules this is why Fauchelevent was SO good for him but I think he also needs someone who is not in life debt to him! he needs to know he can socialize with Kind New People and Not Explode!!
....and this is a long post so I'm gonna save more Valjean rant :D I am pretty sure you and I will discuss later anyway!! Thank you for the random question!

Hello! Could you request Nanbaka x Reader? (Platonic/Romantic)
Fem Reader who's like Kanae Kocho, from Demon Slayer, but in modern era. With Kanae's personality and abilities.
Reader as Hajime and Hitoshi Sugoroku's cousin (You can add this if you want; Reader works at the Nanbaka with her Sister)
-The inmates of Cell 13 of Building 13 of Nanba Prison had managed to escape, again, and were currently rushing through the building, a plan in mind to go and have some fun while Hajime was giving chase, charging down the hallway like a speeding train.
-The members of Cell 13 were having a blast, laughing loudly as Uno called back over his shoulder, “Give it up Hajime- you won’t catch us!”
-Rock skidded to a halt, causing Uno, Jyugo, and Nico to crash into him, making Jyugo yell up at him, “Why the hell did you- holy…” his eyes went wide as they all looked to see what made Rock stop, seeing a very beautiful woman, wearing a prison guard’s uniform, with a pair of butterfly clips on the side of her hats.
-You smiled beautifully, looking so gentle and elegant, “Oh my- I found you! Now let’s get you back to your cell, you naughty boys.” Instantly they melted, becoming completely obedient to you as Nico took one of your hands while the other three fought via rock-paper-scissors on who would get to hold your other hand all the way back to their cell.
-Hajime was exasperated, seeing them being so well behaved for you, a tick-mark on his cheek as you smiled sweetly at them, “Now stay in your cell. Shall we continue with the tour, Hajime?” as you turned to him.
-Instantly the four gremlins surrounded Hajime, furious that he didn’t tell them that they were getting a new guard, and one so cute!! Hajime looked exasperated as Uno, trying to flirt, came over to you, “So how does an angel like you know a gorilla like Hajime?”
-You just laughed into your hand, looking amused, “Oh- Hajime is my cousin. He’s the one who told me about this place and both my little sister and I applied.”
-The four turned white, hearing that you had a sister, before Hajime grabbed Uno, throwing him off you before leading you out, shouting at them to stay in their cell.
-This made things worse however, as Cell 13 broke out even more, just to see you, something you thought was cute, but you were worried about Hajime’s stomach, something Hitoshi asked you to keep an eye out on.
-However, it was much easier for you to wrangle Cell 13, as they would willing following you, just to spend time with you, making it a bit easier on Hajime and Seitaro, while you got along easily with Yamato, sometimes the two of you were very similar it was almost scary.
-Your little sister worked in the hospital sector, working under Dr. Otogi, both of them, so you got to see her quite often, especially when you would bring Nico, and the other three members of his cell, to his checkup.
-They were a little more scared of Shinobu, as she was a bit crass, but her treatments were always gentle, something ratted her out on which made her flush and made you coo on how cute was being.
-Many other inmates adored you as well, as you were always so kind and gentle, something they enjoyed, but Cell 13 was quite territorial over you, while Hajime didn’t want you to be around any of them at all, as he considered putting you on desk duty for a while but realized that might cause more issues.
-Rock was curious, as you didn’t look like a fighter, like Hajime, as he had seen the sword strapped to your side, something he had never seen you use yet, but you just giggled when he asked, “Oh I’d like to think I’m strong. Hajime and I used to play all the time!”
-You showed your strength during one of the trips to the clinic, after some other inmates escaped, wanting to cause havoc and when they saw you, they tried to attack, as you were the first woman they had seen in a long while.
-You just smiled softly before sliding a leg back as you drew your sword. A swarm of flower petals surrounded you as you easily took the six attackers out, not seriously injuring them, just knocking them out.
-When you turned back to Cell 13, they were all hugging each other, looking scared, seeing that you were just as strong as Hajime, knowing that the sweet smile you wore didn’t match- you were scary just like Hajime.
-However, when you smiled sweetly, flowers and bubbles surrounding you, they melted, smiling goofily as you herded them towards the clinic as other guards arrived to handle those who tried to break out.
-Nobody broke out of Nanba, either being unable to or they chose not to, like Cell 13, because they didn’t want to be apart from you.
