I wish it was! But turns out they're not taking their existing content down from YouTube, so there's that :')

I saw people defending the Watcher boys before I actually understood what was going on, now that I saw your posts, I have to say I am also incredibly disappointed. I am all for artists making money off their work and their art of course and especially if they have employees, but it is also unfair to put everything behind a paywall that not everyone can afford to pay. Did they actually remove everything off of Youtube? Because its one thing to continue to post on Youtube and still have certain things paywalled, like I see certain youtubers have exclusive videos on Patreon, but to paywall everything seems unfair to me.

If I'm not wrong, their current content stays on YouTube until May 31st? Or maybe even later, but moving forward they'll only post teasers and trailers of upcoming shows on yt and the whole seasons on watchertv

i’m personally so disappointed about the move the watcher boys pulled.. it comes across as so completely tone deaf and money hungry. i don’t understand why they wouldn’t at least try the youtube tier subscriptions first. i didn’t expect it from ryan and shane and im kinda upset that this is how it ends. i’ll miss it a lot.

I'm glad that they're taking steps to make sure their team is compensated fairly for the efforts they put in, but taking away free content from YouTube and making literally everything they make subscription based is. Probably not the best way to go about it?? I'm sure they've analyzed the situation pretty well but it seems like they'll lose a large chunk of their fans (and fairly so, it's not budget friendly for all) :///
