The swell starts to infect your lungs, rotting through every nerve when your breathing shallows. Your eyes are cemented onto Chowon, whose hands are over her chest and struggling to breathe.

You were lying on Jake's lap, and he had been stroking your hair and pulling them out of your face when an unfamiliar anxiousness started brewing in your gut.

It made you feel like puking, so you sat up abruptly, startling Jake, but he wipes his face clean of the surprise when he tries to snake his arm over your shoulders.

But with every breath you took, it got shallower, harsher - it felt like your lungs are caving in on yourself.

The only problem was that you knew you did not have this problem.

"Hey," Finally, a frown creases his forehead. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Elsa was still singing her lungs out on the wall you were sitting opposite, most of your friends in the room still engaged with the film. Some plastic crinkles when someone picks up the bag of chips, and it's not the crinkling that sets you off, it's the overwhelming feeling of pure sensory overload that guts you.

Confusion starts to break your hearing apart, every word that Jake was whispering or mumbling into your ear suddenly blocked out when the anxiety swells even more. By now, your eyes are frantic, darting across the length of the room in the dark.

By now, you were panting, hands reaching up to your chest in an attempt to regulate your breathing but then you realise - you were still thinking.

This is not me. These aren't my feelings. It's-

Like a puppet, the nerves in your body somehow pull you off the ground and Jake's eyes glimmer in the dark when you make the huge shift. He gets up, fingers wrapping around your hand. His lips are apart, saying something to you, but you're slightly dizzy, slightly nauseous, and still searching the room for the source.

Then you see it.

Chowon, sitting in the corner of her bed, of her room, panting to herself.

Your lips part and your hand fumbles behind you to find Jake's wrist, your shoulder now backed up into his chest with your laboured breathing. "Chowon- she's-"

It takes him a second to process the sight before him, somewhat surprised that you had been able to pick her out from the crowd but also slightly concerned that his classmate was having a panic attack.

"Oh, no," He breathes, warm breath hitting your neck as he drops his hand to your waist and walks around you. "I'll go check on her, okay?"

But you know instantly Jake's approach wasn't going to make anything better, for Chowon shrinks further into the corner when she notices him. Your heart rate spikes and for a split second, your vision goes white.

Suddenly, she's crying, pushing through everybody else to leave the room and kicking over some cups and chip bags in the process. She glances at you as she makes her way out, and the sheer panic flashes across her eyes.

You reach out and try to hold her back, wishing nothing but to ask after her, and yet you're greeted by a sudden surge of unreasonable pain and ache.

"Is she okay?"

"I'll go get her."

Jake tells someone to stop the film, and someone else turns on the room lights with another rushing out of the door to go after her. Yet he finds you, paralysed and rooted to the ground, absolutely frozen.

"y/n."

One look at you in your eyes and Jake knows something is wrong. He’s not used to the layer of tears in your eyes, or your shaking hands and your darting pupils.

"Hey, hey, hey," Pulling you into his chest, he holds the back of your head with his palms flat into your hair. You can hear his heart, which does provide you with some calm and clarity, but Chowon's anxiety was swimming about in your blood.

The quiet shushes he kisses into the crown of your head brings you to tears - a horrible combination of your heart running the fate of someone else's but your thoughts were forming a conclusion you never knew was even possible.

Empathy, felt physically.

But...

You pull away, gulping the dryness in your throat that the anxiety's forced you into. He finds your cheek and presses a gentle kiss into your forehead, knowing that he was nothing but genuine for you.

Why doesn't Jake's peace calm me down?

"You alright? You must've been surprised," He mumbles under his breath, just loud enough for you to hear. Lowering your head, you press your cheek into his chest again, this time, intentionally listening, thinking, feeling.

Nothing.

Then you shut your eyes and let the realisation eat you up from the inside.

You can't read Jake's feelings.

"aren't these the ones i got you from milan?" jay walks over to the full mirror in your closet as you admire how the baby blue wedges look on you, his hands circling around your waist and chin resting at the crook of your neck. "i knew you'd look so so pretty in them," you nod giggling when he press a fluttering kiss to your exposed shoulder before admiring you in the mirror.

"let me choose!" jake rushes past you into the closet, quickly sliding open the doors and going through the bunch of dresses and heels you own. when he finds the dress he wants, he helps you put it on through every step. as for the heels he goes down on his knees, guides you feet in them and ties the pretty white lace around your ankle,"like a real doll, my doll, so pretty,"

"angel, you're so beautiful. how do you manage to be so beautiful all the time?" sunghoon rambles walking just a step behind and pausing a second too long at the doors of the elevator as you get on first. at the party he's literally gatekeeping you from others,"can't believe you're all mine," sneaking little neck kisses and jaw kisses here and there to show you off at the same time.

⋆ ─ KIM SUN-WOO. 김선우 he's such a hype man for you, always encouraging you to put on your pretty heels for him. when you get tired he'll always offer to piggyback you or carry you princess style. also loves holding you close by your lower back, such an opportunity for him.

"my baby is always a beauty," sunoo gushes having his hand around your lower back as you walk through the party you're at. gushing and asking everyone you two talk to "isn't my girl so pretty?" and how lucky he is to have you. "we'll be leaving, my baby is tired," when he notices your discomfort, bending down and signalling you to get on him,"come on, your prince will bring you home,"

⋆ ─ YANG JUNG-WON. 양정원 you can see it all in his face, the way he's at a loss for words, the way he moves around you everything. but he also worries if you might twist your ankle or trip so always holds your hands and leads anywhere and everywhere you go.

"here, hold on to me love," jungwon offers his arm when you reach a pair of steps that are too steep. and immediately after intertwining his fingers with you to guide you safe as he walks just a step ahead supporting you. "you look so pretty in heels but you know i dont wan' you hurt," he says pressing a kiss to your forehead and then after to your lips, tightening his grip.

⋆ ─ NISHIMURA RI-KI. 西村力 if he's not saying anything just know he loves it. and if he starts complaining that he'll not carry you back if you get tired just know he'll take off your heels for you and make you wear his shoes while he holds onto them and walks back bare foot.

"there i saved you princess," riki grins slyly, holding tight onto your waist after you accidentally trip on open air and grass. his hand stays there for a moment as he helps you stand straight, tucking a strand of hair that fell on your eyes. he immediately scoops you up and places you on a nearby bench. then taking off his shoes and your heels,"put them on pls, hm?"

Can I say you're like my safe place to share this hard/angst thought? Its for Jake btw 😭 I was listening to sex, drugs, etc instrumental and im stuck here with this thought hahaha

Say Jaeyun was the goodie two shoes who was the class president and you were the second place bookworm behind him. You two were in good enough terms to chit chat and enjoy being classmates. One thing, you have a crush on him but Jaeyun has a crush on the school's popular and baddie girl in another class. Jaeyun stressed about being a virgin before college and you tell him to stfu because IT IS FINE. However, it's not fine in his world. The girl tells Jaeyun that if he attends the high school graduation party, she'd show him a good time. Jaeyun tells you but you think it's a bad idea because you don't like that girl and her group of her friends. He thinks you're jealous and attends the party. You go with him to watch over him because you have a bad feeling. You were right. It was a set up from the baddie girl and her friends to embarrass the virgin class president Jaeyun. He becomes heartbroken that the girl used him as a joke when he genuinely liked her. That summer, he left for Australia without saying bye to you.

College is a bitch and you hate it. You would've finished sooner if you didn't take a semester off for a break. You still saw the girl and some of her friends around campus and you despised of them. Sure they tried befriending you, but you kicked them away saying you're a lonewolf. At a frat party your friend Heeseung threw, you attended for some stress relief because you needed some disgusting drinks to numb your pain of school work. Just then, that girl and her friends gasped at the sight of someone.

"Jake Sim!" One of your classmates, Sunghoon, says aloud.

You whip your head around after taking a shot and you thought you were hallucinating. "Jae...Yun?"

"Everyone in Australia calls me Jake," the boy says before ruffling your hair.

It's been years since you've last seen him and wow... WOW! He's changed. Like CHANGED! The feature of his cheekbones and silver dyed hair and HOLY SHIT. Were you drunk or was he always this handsome? You wanted to say something but Sunghoon pulls Jake away to drink with him and as they catch up about which girls to take home and sleep with, yada yada. You were confused. When was he NOT a virgin? And how the hell does he know sunghoon? The baddie girl obviously wanted Jake and followed them too, prancing around Jake like a horndog and this made you sick. Or it could be the alcohol.

Anyways, you ask sunghoon questions about Jake and the boy says he knew Jake for some summers. He'd visit Australia with his family and Jake they became good friends and it went on from there. You wanted to talk with Jake but every time you tried, there was either a new girl by him or the bad girl was clinging onto him. One day while finding him on campus alone (because he studies at your school now but since when??), you approached him and asked to talk. He sounded different like he didn't care for a one on one chat. Instead, he was flirting with you and you were unsure to make of it but went with it if it brought you two close. And it did! Jake told off the bad girl and blocked her. His attention was towards you for the first month, giving you kisses messed around a little, but never went on about sex. Tbh, you're still a virgin and you're scared.

By the second month, Jake got needy and asked to have sex. You decided to have oral fixations and Jake was like sure. But that didn't satisfy him, especially with the way you grinded down on him with your clothes on when yall heavily make out. Jake couldn't take it anymore and he said he needs to be inside you and feel you and just be with you. You panicked and lied that you have exams to study and leave.

Jake is seen making out with another girl at a party Sunghoon throws, and this doesn't surprise you. It hurts and you knew that he's a changed man and whatever. You take a few shots to toughen up and confronts Jake who's flirting with the other girl. Jake looks at you and smirks, saying that playing the hard to get game is very annoying. You shove him to the wall and whispers a yell, telling him that you're scared because you're a virgin and you don't want to get hurt because you really like him. You've been into him since high school. And just because he was hurt doesn't mean he has to go around hurting people. You leave after the confession and Jake doesn't stop you.

You haven't spoken with Jake in what feels like weeks and you didn't care. You cried like a bitch for the first week and Heeseung came over with ice cream to cheer you up. After cheering up, you bump into Jake at the sports field where you get away from people to just enjoy some alone time. You were about to leave but Jake stops you, apologizing that he's an asshole who doesn't deserve you blah blah. You tell him to tell that to some other girl, but Jake stops you. He starts apologizing from when he left without a goodbye after that embarrassing party, because he thought you didn't want to be his friend anymore. He left to Australia and decided to change himself so when he returns, he could humiliate the girl who ruined him. He's no longer virgin Jaeyun anymore and he was living as Jake. But when he was with you, all the high school memories that he spent with you came back and he hated it. He was going to hit it and quit it with you, but he couldn't. So he thought he could just kiss some other girl and make you hate him instead. Sadly, you came at him with a confession that had guilt eating at his heart. He's the biggest asshole ever and he's sorry. You take one look at him and you tell him you're sorry too, and leaves.

You stopped talking with Jake, telling yourself that you're done with him. But are you really? You go to one of Heeseung's house parties and your intentions were to get drunk and move on from this stupid heartbreak FOR GOOD. A guy who knows of you because of Jake, approaches you and asks if you're with him. You peek over to find Jake's eyes on you while Sunghoon and their other friends are trying to talk about who they're sleeping with next. You tell the guy that you were never with Jake to begin with. You both hang out together and he gets a lil too touchy and feely, and you disliked it. The burning sensation didn't feel like Jake's and just when you were about to push him off, someone did it for you. Jake grabs your wrist and drags you out of the party.

You're yelling at him to let go because he's hurting you. Jake doesn't listen and keeps walking and you begin to cry, sobbing again because WHY IS YOUR STUPID HEART still wanting him??? 😭😭 he stops his tracks to look at you and let's go of your wrist. It starts to rain out of the blue (we need that kdrama rain lol and trust me the song fits here), and Jake takes you to hide under the bleachers by the sports field. The frat house wasn't too far from the campus and the next place alone with some shelter were under the bleachers. Jake apologizes for everything again as he takes his jacket off and puts it over you. And you don't know if it's the alcohol or your fucking heart, but you kiss Jake. You deepen the kiss, longing for his touch as you drown in him. Jake is concerned because yall in public, but you're aching for his touch as it has been WEEKS.

Jake touches your breasts, realizing there's no bra and he curses under his breath. His lips still on yours as you fondle each other desperately. He brings you back to his place, telling you that if yall gonna do things right, it'll be comfortable. He lays you on the bed and strips you naked as so does he. Jake kisses every inch of your body, slow and sensual, savoring EVERYTHING. He preps you, fingering you slowly and eating you out. God, he loves the taste of you and he will never get enough of it. (second year) he has his own room at the apartment. he got really popular on twt and insta for his modeling photos. he’s always late to the dance practices. he sends his grocery lists in the enhypen group chat and totally goes off on anyone who complains about it. he’s genuinely funny without trying. he’s kinda narcissistic…but like look at him, ofc he is. he knows he’s hot, and finds it very amusing that he has so many ‘fan girls’ he sometimes joins heeseung playing basketball. is obsessed with sunoo’s baking. sunghoon works at the ice rink. sunghoon knows of Stella because there dads work together, they have talked a few times, but that was years ago. #1 sunoo hater and lover

KIM SEON WOO ( portrayed by HIMSELF ) 18

(second year) sunoo works at a ice cream shop, but is thinking about quitting, and working at a cafe he has went to a few times. his friends get confused how he seems to just know everyone (he’s just really friendly) he knows everything about everyone. he’s the one who came up with there weekly movie nights. sunoo bakes whenever he’s stressed. can get sassy and witty but his friends are used to it. had an anonymous gossip account that got popular, but he lost the password and can’t get back in. only niki and sunghoon know that he was behind the account. knows how to play the piano and likes to send melodies to heeseung so he could sing to them (that’s a secret between the two of them) has a fear that his twt drafts will accidentally get posted (some juicy gossip fr) #1 sunghoon lover and hater

YANG JUNGWON ( portrayed by HIMSELF ) 18

(second year) he’s a tired dance captain for real. he’s the second youngest but acts and feels like the oldest. jungwon is genuinely the sweetest person and wants the best for his teammates. he calls niki every morning because he knows that niki most likely slept through or turned off his alarm clock. him and sunoo are neighbors and have known each other the longest. jungwon has a treehouse in his back yard that he and sunoo have played in since they were kids, niki is the only other person who has went inside (they have sleepovers, and niki terrorizes them with his scary story’s) he volunteers at the animal sanctuary. #1 jay lover

NISHIMURA RIKI ( portrayed by HIMSELF ) 17

(first year) niki is the youngest member of enhypen. he is actually the most chaotic person ever, and is always finding a way to tease/troll the other members. niki is an absolute dance machine, he loves dancing. the first game he ever played was just dance. even though he stays up most of the night playing video games, he’s always energetic. his most played game is overwatch and he has been queuing with the same person and he can’t stop bragging about how good they are in the enhypen group chat. they have never talked in voice chat but niki swears he’s in love with them. he genuinely has dirt on everyone. a very talented drawer #1 jake teaser & lover
