One-Day Roadtrip Itinerary Of Santorini
One-Day Roadtrip Itinerary Of Santorini
For those who want to get out of the way of the crowds of the bigger towns, I highly recommend renting a car on Santorini. Wary of the high prices in Oia proper, we had selected an Airbnb that was fairly rural. In lieu of walking ages to the nearest bus stop, we decided to rent a car and had the most amazing day exploring the island! Less than an hour from top to bottom, I found driving around…

Essential Tips Filmmaker Hacking Santorini 2023
As a filmmaker planning to shoot in Santorini in 2023, there are several essential tips to keep in mind to make your experience successful and enjoyable. Santorini is a stunning and picturesque location, and capturing its beauty on film can be a rewarding endeavor. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your filming project:
Tumblr media
Obtain Necessary Permits: Before you start filming, ensure that you have all the required permits from the local authorities. Filming in public places may require permits, and regulations can vary, so it's essential to be compliant with local laws.
Scout Locations in Advance: Familiarize yourself with the island's different locations that fit your vision. Santorini has a diverse landscape with iconic white-washed buildings, stunning sunsets, beautiful beaches, and volcanic terrain. Pre-plan your shots and create a shot list to make the most of your time on the island.
Respect Local Culture: Santorini is not just a beautiful location; it's also a home to local residents. Be respectful of the island's culture, traditions, and privacy of its people. Seek permission before filming in private areas or including locals in your shots.
Timing and Lighting: Pay attention to the timing and lighting conditions for your shots. The golden hour (shortly after sunrise and before sunset) offers magical lighting that enhances the island's beauty. Plan your shooting schedule accordingly.
Equipment and Logistics: Make sure you have all the necessary filming equipment and accessories you need for your project. If you're traveling with a film crew, ensure proper logistics for transportation and accommodation on the island.
Weather Considerations: Santorini experiences a Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers. Be prepared for the weather conditions during your shoot, and consider factors like temperature and wind when planning outdoor shots.
Backup and Storage: Bring enough memory cards and storage devices to store your footage securely. Consider having backup copies of your data to avoid any loss during your travel.
Local Assistance: If possible, hire local production assistants or fixers who are familiar with the island. Their knowledge of the area, language, and customs can be invaluable in ensuring a smooth filming experience.
Drone Filming Regulations: If you plan to use drones for aerial shots, familiarize yourself with the local drone regulations and obtain necessary permits for drone operation.
Transportation: Renting a car or scooter can be a convenient way to get around the island and access various filming locations easily.
Respect the Environment: As a filmmaker, it's crucial to be environmentally conscious. Dispose of waste responsibly and leave filming locations as you found them.
Remember, Santorini is a popular tourist destination, so be prepared for potentially crowded areas, especially during peak travel seasons. With proper planning and consideration, you can create stunning visuals and capture the essence of Santorini in your filmmaking project.

How to go quickly to Santorini from london, Greece:
Direct Flights: The quickest way to reach Santorini from London is by taking a direct flight. Several airlines operate direct flights from London's major airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted) to Santorini (Thira) Airport. Flight duration is usually around 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
Connecting Flights: If there are no direct flights available on your preferred dates or if you're looking for more budget-friendly options, you can consider connecting flights. There are connecting flights through Athens or other major European cities. However, this will increase your travel time significantly, so it's best to opt for direct flights if possible.
High-speed Ferries: If you prefer an alternative to flying, you can take a combination of trains or flights from London to a port city (e.g., Athens, Piraeus) and then board a high-speed ferry to Santorini. The ferry journey usually takes around 4 to 8 hours, depending on the ferry type and departure location.
Private Jets or Chartered Yachts: If you have a substantial budget and want a luxurious and ultra-fast option, you can charter a private jet to fly directly to Santorini or hire a private yacht to sail there.

5 Essential Greece Honeymoon Tips
The #1 European Island Hotspot for Romance, Adventure and Luxury Pool Suites
Expert tips from Renee Meyer, Owner/Founder of Unforgettable Honeymoons®
Book a Pool Suite in Santorini, You won't regret it. Couples love the over the top, Incredible Views from their private suites in Santorini, Greece. Pictured above a fabulous river pool suite at Canaves Oia Resort in Santorini- one of the top luxury Greece resorts, located on the Oia Peninsula, our favorite village in Santorini.
Santorini is the most beautiful island in all of Greece, and a must see island on any Greece honeymoon itinerary. The key is to make sure you book a hotel on the Caldera, not near the beach or inland which is tempting to do as the prices are much lower. The top Village to stay is Oia village, second Imerovigli Village. Oia has some of the best views and the nicest shopping and dining promenade. Hotels in Imerovigli have some of finest sunset views of the Caldera. The main village of Fira is too frenetic for honeymooners and is riddled with too many cruise ship passengers who flood the streets on most days.
Mykonos can be super busy in the summer, especially the month of July when it is a known party place for large groups from the UK, Spain and Germany. Alternatively, we suggest islands such as Paros, and or Naxos which are ideal for couples seeking a more laid back relaxed Greek Island beach vibe. Paros and Naxos are about a 1 hour ferry ride from Santorini, and offer couples beautiful beaches, hiking, small boutique resorts and suites with pools. Pricing is a bit lower than Mykonos in general. Learn more at the tourist board website : Discover Greece- Paros
Off Season and Shoulder Season- the end of April and mid October are off season and far less expensive, however the pools are not heated, and the ocean is too chilly for swimming. This does not mean you cannot enjoy your honeymoon in Greece, there are amazing hikes, villages to explore, wine tasting, and ancient ruins to explore. Mid-May and the first week of October are a bit warmer than off season dates, and can be a little more costly
Book a Rooftop dinner in Athens for your last night of your Greece Honeymoon. It's always best to end your honeymoon on a high note, and there is no shortage of restaurants with Acropolis views that light up the night sky. Before you go check out this Rooftop restaurant guide for Athens.
Unforgettable Honeymoons® travel agency established 1994 specializes in customizing Greece Honeymoons to fit each couples personal preferences, budget and travel style. Couples plan with a Greece honeymoon expert start to finish, every detailed mapped out in advance so they enjoy every moment of their honeymoon time together with Greece Honeymoon Planning, or couples can choose a preset Greece Honeymoon package such as The Best of Greece Honeymoon.

Tough Guy (Boxer!Steve x Librarian!fem reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: after a violent fight with a stranger on the streets of boston, steve reaps the consequences of his own actions. you worry about the future of your relationship.
uses she/her pronouns and female anatomy.
♡ the steve collection ♡
warnings: blood, boxing-related violence, also regular but pretty intense violence, angst, physical fight, steve goes to jail :)
boston, massachusetts april 1990
Within the first two months on the road, Steve's career skyrocketed.
He went from a locally famous fighter to a national name. The endorsements started putting together press conferences before and after fights, and every time you watched him from behind a curtain backstage, sitting at those tables with a mic in front of him, sunglasses shielding him from the blinding shutters of cameras, it filled you with a jolt of pride. His hard work was finally coming to fruition. All the training, the dieting, the bruises and headaches—it was starting to mean something.
You sat front row at every fight, flashing sweet smiles of encouragement, leaping to your feet to clap, leaning forward to shout validations. Before every fight—once Steve ducked into the ropes and stood to his full, hulking height—he'd look off at you and press his puffy, gloved knuckles once to his mouth, then twice to his heart. You'd blow a kiss back in response, nodding firmly in affirmation. You tried not to get too sappy before a fight; Steve had to concentrate, he couldn't have distractions.
But Steve was a hard man to distract before a fight. He was always deeply engrossed in his own head, staring off at concrete in the dressing rooms, bouncing his foot while his knuckles were wrapped. He rarely even paused to press a kiss to your mouth; he couldn't get out of his own head long enough to think about it.
You didn't mind, though. Steve always made up for it in the hotel room afterwards. Purpled and blued with bruises, mouth scented of blood, hands warm and clammy and still a little shaky—Steve would work himself slowly between your legs until they were jello, until he had you gasping and mewling and he could barely hold himself up with his sore arms. But he never stopped. Not until you struggled to breathe and were too tired to move.
It was his way of saying 'I love you,' when words escaped him.
"Man, once we get to Vegas—I'm hittin' the slots," Mikey boasted from the passenger seat of the SUV.
You wished you would've been able to rent a bus, or some sort of vehicle large enough for the four of you. The longer you drove, the more cramped it started to feel. Right now, your head was in Steve's lap, one hand buried in your hair and the other rubbing your thigh. You'd been fatigued for days, barely able to keep your eyes open on long drives between hotels, gyms, and arenas. It didn't help that you were on your period and cramping like hell.
"Don't go wasting all that dough, Santorini. The kid's gotta keep this winning streak up if we wanna stay rich," Big chuckled behind the wheel.
Above you, Steve rolled his eyes. You fiddled with the strings of his sweatshirt, pulling them gently just to watch them bounce back up.
"Nice to know you have faith in me," Steve grumbled.
Big glanced at the pair of you in the rearview. "I do have faith in you, son! I'm just keeping you on your toes. Ain't that right, Libby?"
You hummed, reaching up to scratch your nails against Steve's stubbled jaw. "Mm, I think Steve's gonna keep the streak up. He's a winner."
Steve tilted his chin down to look at you, softening at the sight of your eyes blinking up at him. He huffed through his nose, dragging his hand through your hair and along the side of your face, rough and firm. His thumb caught the underside of your jaw, tipping your head up to angle your mouth to his liking. He bent slowly, pausing when the tip of his nose met yours.
"Thank you, angel," he whispered across your waiting lips, just loud enough for you to hear.
You grinned, wrapping your hand around his wrist. "You're welcome."
♡ ♡
After five hours on the road, you finally arrived in Boston. The entire car began complaining of thirst and hunger an hour ago, so your stomach grumbled with overdue need the moment Big pulled in front of an Italian restaurant not too far from the hotel.
"C'mon, baby." Steve jostled you in his lap, ignoring your whining protests.
He hauled you into a seated position by the back of your neck, pressing a wet kiss to your cheek before popping the door open. You huffed and puffed as you slid toward the open air, stomping your feet onto the pavement of the road. Steve grinned at your petulant behavior, yanking you close by the wrist to wrap his hand around your jaw.
"So pouty, baby," he teased, squishing your cheeks together and watching your lips pucker with amusement.
You furrowed your brows at him, eyelids drooping. "M' tired."
He pressed a quick peck to your squished lips. "I know. We'll eat, then sleep. Good?"
You nodded, and with another swift kiss to your mouth, he released your face and collected your hand in his grasp. You allowed him to guide you, woozy with exhaustion. The sounds of Boston—horns honking, people shouting, distant sirens—seemed muffled by blood rushing to your head. You hadn't been in an upright position for hours.
The restaurant was dimly lit, which did nothing to help rouse you from your wading state of slumber. They seated you at a table in the back, the heels of the waitress clicking hurriedly across checkered tile as she guided you to the table. By the way she smiled at Steve and bent over his plate to pour water into his glass, it was clear she recognized him. The sight of her breasts sitting on his empty plate like a slice of chicken woke you up—at least enough to glare at her and scoot closer to Steve, sliding your hand through the back of his hair.
The men lit cigarettes and browsed through the menu, and you leaned your head on Steve's shoulder while flipping through the laminated pages lazily. Steve flipped his lighter open and closed, the hiss of the flame quickly suffocated when capped. Mikey was talking about Vegas again, rambling about all the naked women he'd see and all the money he'd spend.
"When d' we go to Vegas again?" you murmured, rubbing your cheek on Steve's arm.
He tapped his lighter on the tablecloth, pulling the cigarette from his mouth to blow the smoke away. "Uh, end of next month. Why, you wanna try your hand at poker, honey?"
Steve rubbed at your hair, a scrunch of his fingers against the crown of your head that made you scowl. You flicked his hand away, huffing.
"No, m' just tired of hearing Mikey talk about it already."
Steve looked at Mikey across the table through his lashes, flashing an amused smile as he choked back a chuckle. Your generally sweet and quiet demeanor usually crumbled when you reached a certain point of exhaustion, and it was clear you were toeing the line now.
Big let his laugh loose, patting Mikey on the back. "You and me both, girl."
You sighed, eyes fluttering closed again. Steve ripped his cigarette away from his mouth again to nudge you up.
"Baby, you gotta stay awake."
You groaned, rolling away to sit up straight in your chair, though your shoulders soon slumped and your chin tucked toward your chest. A 'tired,' tumbled from your mouth, and Steve gently tapped his hand on your thigh.
"I know, baby, just a little longer. Want me t' order for you?"
You barely remember nodding, but soon there was a plate of angel hair pasta with shredded Parmesan sitting in front of you, a coke with lemon at your right. You sipped at it with a sigh, leaning your elbow on the table. You'd never felt this tired before.
You were so busy focusing on twirling the prongs of your fork into the mound of steaming pasta that you hadn't noticed the group of men lingering near your table. You were too worried about keeping a steady grip around the utensil, too tired to truly grip.
"Can we help you fellas?" It was Big that called attention to it.
You lifted your head from where it rested on your fist, turning to see the men at the edge of your table. Steve instantly pulled your chair a little closer. Sleep began to dissipate from the corners of your eyes.
"Ah you...ah you Steve Harrington? The Steve Harrington?"
Their attention turned to Steve, a finger pointed too close to his face for his liking. He instantly leaned away from it, eyes narrowing into that cold, empty look he gets when he isn't around the three of you at this table. You were the only ones who got to see a gentler side of him—the rest of America only knew his brick-wall personality.
"Listen, we're tryin' t' eat here," Steve gruffed, motioning toward your plates full of food.
The man was young, between your age and Steve's, his face red and puffy and alcohol stiff on his breath. He looked like he stepped right out of MTV, and you glanced sideways at the rest of his friends lingering behind him, tapping their ashes onto the floor of the restaurant without care.
"Oh, yeah, yeah, totally," the man stuttered. "Just wanted to say m' a big fan, man."
Big inched his chair out, preparing to stand when Steve placed a hand out to stop him. He turned his attention back to the stranger in the backwards baseball cap, nodding curtly.
"Yeah, I appreciate it. Now you wanna fuck off?"
You stiffened in your seat, knowing the sharp tone of Steve's voice meant his patience was wearing thin. In response to his abrupt shift, the other men guffawed.
"Whoa, man, I was just showing my ah-ppreciation. No need to be an asshole."
You saw it—the way Steve's head twitched the smallest jerk back, how the muscle in his neck bulged with a squeeze of his teeth together. You felt it next—his fingers gripping your thigh like a vice, sure to leave marks in their wake. You squeaked, reaching out to place your hand over his.
"Hey, man," Steve mimicked, parroting the man's accent, "I'm askin' you nicely to leave. You don't want me to have to make you."
The man stumbled back into his friends, head shaking with disbelief. His eyes were glossed with a drunken haze, and an uneasy chill whipped through you when they glanced your way.
"Whatever, man. Just some fuckin' fake anyway."
His friends tugged him away, and their descent toward the exit was slow and full of mumbled insults that all made you stiff and nauseous. When they were gone, Mikey scowled.
"Can you believe the nerve of those fuckin’ kids?”
Big sighed, shaking pepper flakes over his half-eaten slice of pizza, eyes narrowed on the door. "They're just looking for attention. Hey, you okay, Libby?"
All eyes turned to you, pale and queasy, poking at your pasta with the prongs of your fork. Steve let up on your thigh, rubbing the aching handprint on your skin. You nodded weakly.
"M' sorry, honey," Steve sighed, pressing a kiss to your cheek. "You okay?"
You flashed a tight-lipped smile, nodding again. "I'm fine, Stevie. I just...didn't want there to be a fight."
Steve picked up his pizza, ripping off a bite from the pointed end. Grease slicked his lips, made them shiny and pink.
"M' not gonna fight those fuckers. Just...eat your food, baby, c'mon."
♡ ♡
Steve managed to get you to eat half the plate of pasta and a roll of dense bread. You stumbled into the parking lot attached to his side, bloated with food consumption and still woozy with fatigue. You relied completely on Steve's solid figure to prop you up—an arm wrapped securely around your waist, the other hand ready to pick you up at any moment. Big and Mikey walked ahead, smoking another cigarette and chatting about what to watch on pay per view at the hotel.
You were just about to get into the car when a whistle shrilled from down the sidewalk. All four of your heads turned, finding the dark shadow of the same man from earlier, friends abandoned elsewhere. He continued to stumble your way with a glazed look in his eye, drunkenly determined.
"Hey, Harrington! Wanna talk t' ya, man," he called out.
You wrapped your hand around Steve's sweatshirt, anchoring him to you. Your other hand found the door handle, taking a sharp breath in.
"Steve, let's just go," you muttered. For the second time tonight, your sleepy haze dissipated like a cloud of smoke.
The man whistled again, cupping his hands around his mouth to holler at Steve. Big and Mikey were at Steve's side in an instant, crowding in close.
"Harrington, kid, don't do it," Big warned, voice stern and fatherly.
But you could see it in Steve's eyes—his face illuminated by the streetlight's yellow beam—that steely determination, the fiery stubbornness, his hungry need to prove himself. Steve never turned down a fight. He never stopped looking for one. All he needed was a tipping point—one thing to send him over the edge.
"What, you scahed, Harrington? All that tough guy shit on tv just for show?"
It wasn't enough, but it was close. Steve popped the door handle, nudging you toward the backseat. You fought his pushing hands, your own flying out to grab the door handle and the lip of the car. You held on with all your might, lip wobbling.
"No, Steve. Steve, please, it's not worth it," you begged, voice unsteady with panic.
Steve slipped his sunglasses from the collar of his sweatshirt, tossing them behind you into the backseat. The man behind him whistled again, clapping his hands together to amp himself up. Mikey ran his hand down his face, head shaking on the sidewalk. Everyone knew what was coming next.
"You should listen to her, Harrington," Big started, gazing at Steve over his shoulder. "You're givin' this guy exactly what he wa—"
"—yeah, that's right, Harrington, go cry to ya bitch."
Your eyes widened, heart thumping hard in your throat. Steve just smiled, half-lipped and sly. Your heart dropped. You were frozen as he cupped his hand around your jaw and kissed your head, barely even registering him ripping himself away with you until all you caught was cold air.
You heard the familiar crack of bones colliding before you saw it. It was like coming back to consciousness, like how you snap from slumber by the trill of an alarm clock. That violent sound ripped you from your frightened daze, just in time to see a body collapsing to the floor.
Steve stood over him, chest rising and falling with heavy, huffed breaths. He looked just like he did in the ring, massive and immoveable—dangerous and unhinged. He gave the man a second to recover from the right hook to his jaw before Steve was on top of him, pounding down hit after hit.
"Steve! Steve, stop!"
You leapt from your position in the backseat doorway, but a pair of arms immediately clutched around your middle. The barrier massive and full of tense muscle—Big, hoisting you up off the ground in a bear hug.
You clawed at his back and flailed your arms, kicking your feet and losing a shoe in the process. The kitten heel went flying across the sidewalk.
"Steve! Stop it!" Your throat was growing raw already.
Your vision of Steve blurred with the onset of hot tears, stinging your eyes already aching with exhaustion. You soaked Big's broad back, protests growing weaker the longer you fought his ironclad grip. Mikey was pacing the sidewalk, warding off people trying to intervene, doing all he could to avoid someone calling the cops.
But the 'woop-woop' of sirens was inevitable. Blue and red lights blanketed the street in flashing color. Your vision became a blurry kaleidoscope of figures and shapes, but nothing solid. Your hands were shaking, clasped around Big's t-shirt.
"Honey, I need you to breathe. Hey, can you take a deep breath for me?"
And then you were sitting on the curb in Big's lap, held like a child after a nightmare, struggling to breathe in time to the police officer's guiding gasps. Hiccuping breaths escaped you like stutters, and a slow turn of your head over Big's shoulder allowed you to see what they'd all been shielding you from for the past ten minutes:
A pool of blood on the sidewalk, a stretcher with an unconscious man wearing a neck brace. Even from this distance, there was no mistaking that the chunks sitting in the blood were teeth. There was so much blood.
"Wh-where's St-Steve?" you gasped, turning back to the officer.
He stood up again, previously crouched to accommodate your seated position. He rolled his lips together, hands finding his hips. He glanced behind you at Big, who nodded softly.
"Well, uh...your boyfriend beat a man half to death, honey, so...he's goin' to jail tonight."
All you could hear was the thump of your heart in your ears. You could feel it, too, pumping with such force that your throat ached. You thought your temples might burst open at any moment. Your stomach churned with sickness. It lined your cheeks with a sourness that gathered saliva under your tongue.
You swallowed once, hard. "Okay."
The officer lingered a moment, and with another nod Big's way, stepped back toward his squad car. The other one, the one your boyfriend was handcuffed in the back of, was already on its way to the station.
Big rubbed at your shoulders. "What do you wanna do, kid?"
Your hands were still shaking when they wiped at your cheeks, freeing them of sticky mascara tears. A sigh rattled in your throat with snot and more unsheathed tears.
"Sleep," you replied.
Big gazed off over his shoulder at Mikey, who was already on the phone with endorsements explaining what happened before they caught whiff of it through the paparazzi. They'd be here in no time with all the commotion on the street. Mikey looked at Big, shrugging his shoulders. Harrington did what Harrington did. Now he had to reap the consequences.
"Alright," Big sighed, patting your shoulders, "let's get you to sleep then."
♡ ♡
In the end, you didn't get much sleep.
You could barely remember what it was like to sleep without Steve pressed against your back. The bed felt empty and cold that night. You tossed and turned for hours, weeping into the pillow, and always moments away from calling your father to take you home. All you wanted was the safety of home, the security of Steve—you didn't have any of that right now. In fact, you'd never felt more terrified.
In the morning, you were like a zombie. Big and Mikey came knocking, carrying a cup of coffee (flavored with vanilla since they knew you liked sweet things) and a breakfast sandwich. You took one bite of the sandwich and could barely stomach half the cup of coffee. You looked paler than usual, and when they asked if you wanted to shower and clean yourself up, all you could do was shake your head.
Big managed to wipe your face clean and hand you a sweatshirt—Steve's, roomy and scented of Marlboros and pine cologne.
In the car, the backseat felt just as wide and empty as your bed.
"We already posted bail, but they want to set a court date. We gotta get ahold of that guy, see what kind of offer he's willing to take," Mikey rambled, elbow leaning against the door.
Big glanced at you periodically in the rearview. You hadn't said one word all morning, but he could tell just what you were thinking. How could he do this?
When you arrived at the police station, all you could feel was numbness. Your boyfriend was locked up behind bars in this sterile looking building, but you couldn't feel anything. Perhaps it was the exhaustion still puppeteering your body, weighing you down from truly feeling how you wanted to feel. Either way, all you could do was blink blankly at the barbed wire in the window, and wait for one of them to ask.
"Coming in, or staying here?" Big asked, and you turned away from the window.
You pondered it for a minute. Did you want to see Steve in there? Did you want to see him holding his belongings in a plastic bag, fingers smudged with ink from fingerprinting? Did you want to see him slumped on a bench in a cinderblock cell?
"It's fine," Mikey interrupted, "I'll stay here with her."
Big cocked his head gently. "That okay with you?"
You glanced up from your lap, nodding silent agreement. Big popped the door open and tossed Mikey the keys.
"Alright, I'll be right back then."
The car jostled with the slam of his door, and you instantly placed your head in your hands. Mikey rubbed at his mustache, shifting in his seat.
"Listen...it'll be alright. There's gotta be a number this guy's willing to take, and you won't have to worry 'bout Harrington going to jail, alright?"
A payoff. It was the only answer they could even fathom. There was no part of you that wanted Steve to go to jail, but that doesn't mean it wasn't what he deserved. It felt sick to cheat the system with money. You felt sick about it.
"It'll all work out," Mikey assured you. "Hey, here they come."
You lifted your head, wiping your cheeks and nose free of any sign of tears. You kept your gaze steady on your window, away from the windshield and Steve's figure trudging toward the car. The car jostled again with his arrival, sliding into the backseat. He smelled different, like stale cigarettes and sweat, a muted whiff of cleaning product. He didn't smell like him.
The car took off in silence, though you could feel Steve's stare burning a hole into your head. You caught his reflection in the window when you passed under a tunnel, and you pinched your eyes shut until it was gone.
"Baby," he whispered.
You captured your lip between your teeth and took a steadying breath. Steve sighed, reaching out for your hand, tucked into your arms crossed over your chest.
"Baby, plea—"
You yanked your hand away, knees turning toward your door. Steve's head thumped back against the seat, hands returning to his lap.
♡ ♡
At the hotel, you stood in the corner furthest from Steve in the elevator. Big stood between the pair of you like a statue. When you reached your floor and the doors dinged open, you stomped ahead of everyone silently. Steve followed, steps slow and small. When he approached the room, door open and still half full of your figure, you turned and slammed the door in his face.
Steve sighed, bringing an inked hand to the knob to turn on it. You locked it.
"Libby," Steve sighed, knocking gently. "Please let me in. I just...please talk to me."
You stared at the other side of the door, heart racing at the sound of his voice. His bags were in the corner near the chaise lounge, still fully packed and untouched. Steve knocked again.
"Baby, please."
You hurriedly turned the lock and scurried further into the room. You were on the other side of the bed by the time Steve opened the door and tiptoed in. He walked with an air of caution not usually present. His head hung toward his feet, shoulders tense. His hands found his pockets, concealing the swollen and purpled bruises painted across his knuckles. But you'd already seen—it was hard to miss: the blood crusted in the open wounds, the crimson stain on his jeans.
Steve walked closer, and when he came around the bed to reach for you, you jerked away.
"Don't fucking touch me, Steven."
Steve recoiled, lips pulled into a frown. You stomped toward the mini bar, grasping the edge of the glass counter. Somewhere in the room, a clock ticked with each passing second. Your heart was racing again.
"What were you thinking?" Your voice was so soft, but edged with disbelief and such horrifying heartbreak.
Steve felt like the world's biggest piece of shit.
"I don't know," he mumbled, running a hand down his face, drooping with exhaustion. "I just...I lost it."
You yanked open the mini fridge, bottles rattling and clinking together as you rummaged through them. You snatched a Ciroc, twisting the cap off and flicking it toward the wall. It pinged off, bouncing across the room. Steve stared at it while you tossed back a gulp, wincing at the sting.
"You could've killed him," you croaked.
Steve sank down onto the bed. "What, I was supposed to let that guy clown me? I'm supposed to ignore it?"
You whirled around, feverishly sucking more of the stinging liquid down as you paced toward Steve. He kept his eyes on his feet while you towered over him.
"Do you hear yourself? 'Me, me, me.' You don't think of anyone but yourself."
Steve's shoulders slumped, head tipping back to flash you a pleading look. "Baby, I was—"
You pointed a finger at him, rage suddenly replacing that numb emptiness from earlier.
"—and don't you dare fuckin' say you were doing it for me, because we don't lie to each other like that."
Steve's mouth snapped closed, jaw wired shut tightly. His nostrils flared, and then he was leaping to his feet with furrowed brows and narrowed eyes.
"I was doing it for you, Libby. You love to make me the villain, don't you?"
You scoffed, hands dropping to your sides, smacking against your thighs. "Well if the shoe fuckin' fits."
A moment passed. The words flew from your mouth like they'd been ripped; yanked like a tooth. Puffs of air made your chest ride and fall in quick successions. Steve's cheek ticked. He tore his hands from his pockets, bearing his bloody knuckles, and swept them over the top of his greasy hair.
Without a word, he stomped past you, snatching the plastic bag of his belongings from the dresser. You stood, stock-still, in the middle of the room as he fumbled for his cigarettes and lighter. He passed by again in a whoosh of air, yanking at the sliding glass door of the balcony until it gave way to cool morning air.
When it slammed closed, Steve sank down into one of the wicker chairs outside and lit the cigarette. Suddenly, you were left feeling like the bad guy.
Numbly, you moved toward the bathroom. The light buzzed for a fraction of a second when you flipped it on. Turning to close the door, you caught sight of Steve putting the heel of his palms to his forehead, hunched over his lap. You kept the door ajar by an inch—an invitation. Come in, let's forgive each other.
The water came out in a heavy stream, filling the tiled room with warmth. You stripped slowly, limbs throbbing with a tired ache. A small package of lavender bath bubbles sat on the edge of the tub, and you poured it in as you sank your feet into the water. It was a wide, oval-shaped tub—plenty of room, meant for two people.
Once submerged, you leaned your head back against the lip of the tub and closed your eyes. The water level rose higher with each passing second, coating your body in floral warmth. The faucet squeaked when you turned the handle off and cut the stream short.
A horn blared on the streets below, filtering through the balcony doors. Something thumped in the hall. Voices chattered on the other side of the blue tiles. The bathroom had blue carpet, the color of sapphires.
Steve smelled like himself again when he came in, hands scented of Marlboros. He kicked the door closed and leaned against it. You hadn't opened your eyes, but he knew you heard him. Your toe twitched in the bubbles.
He reached up and pinched the back of his sweatshirt, pulling it forward over his head. He toed his sneakers off, abandoning them near the door. His belt clinked, zipper snicking, denim whooshing as it fell down his legs. The water sloshed with his entrance—right foot, left foot, bending down until he was seated between your legs.
His hands slipped along the lip of the tub with a wet squeal, and by the time he was touching his forehead to yours, your eyes were open. Your legs mirrored his, pulled to your chest, making room for each other. White bubbles lathered on his arms, dripped from his elbows.
His hand was hot and dry when it cupped your cheek. "I'm sorry, baby."
You tipped your head, nose nudging his. "I know. Me too."
The water rippled when he brought both hands to your arms, skating along the length of them. You let your head fall where it wanted to, sliding away from his forehead to his shoulder. You rested there, letting his hands work over your body with tender care. His fingerprint ink disappeared in the water.
Steve pressed kisses to your skin, full-lipped and delicate. You shivered when he mouthed at your neck, the sensitive spot below your ear.
His apology wasn't enough to fix what he did. Mikey could pay off the man Steve nearly beat to death, but it wouldn't change what he did. He could never take this back. And you could never erase the memory of it from your mind.
You knew all this. But you loved him just the same.

“The first time I met the Jeong family was shortly after Ma died,” San began, in a low relaxed tone as if he was talking about what he had for lunch yesterday. “I was quite young, but my father was grief-stricken and I stepped up to support him. He didn’t want me to but he wasn’t as strong as he used to be in arguments with me after her passing, so he just let me learn the trades of our business.”
He chuckled darkly, rubbing the tip of his thumb along the soft plush of his lower lip. “Should’ve listened to him,” he admitted with a hint of regret in his voice and a darkness in his eye you recognised from your own reflection. “Should’ve stayed a kid a little bit longer like Ma wanted me to and not want to be the hero that could fix everything like she seemed to do.”
His deep gaze bore into you for a few beats until he spoke once more. “The first time I met the Jeong family, the patriarch was beating the ever living shit out of his own son.”
You tried your best not to freeze, and although you knew of the treatment Yunho had endured there, it certainly felt a whole lot different hearing it from someone else. Hearing it from San.
He noticed your shift and gently grasped your hand over the table, running his thumb soothingly against your knuckles to try and ease the horror he could feel building inside you.
“My dad,” he resumed in that detached tone again, “had grown up with a horrible mother and an even worse father. When he met Ma, he was still a bit of a...’fixer upper’. But he changed. Said he wanted to give himself a reason for her to be proud of loving him, a reason she would want to call him her husband when the time came for him to propose--and most importantly, he was just so tired of hating his own soul. Wanted to love it as much as she did.”
A soft, intimate smile played against his lips for a brief moment. “Once, she told me that loving him came as easy as breathing.” His eyes flickered to yours, so much weight behind them, and his hand that held yours seared with a heat you couldn’t find yourself to pull away from.
“By the time they had me, they were very clear on what morals I was to have. And neither of them stopped drilling it into me until their dying breath.” San chuckled humourlessly. “Sometimes I still hear their ghosts whisper it into my ears, in the gentle way they spoke.”
His eyes closed as he recounted one of the last things he ever heard his father say all the way back in Santorini five years ago. “(We too have morals. There are some lines we must never cross.) One of them was that family and friends were sacred. You can’t hurt them. Can’t fix them through pain.”
You do your best not to think of Isaac but his face flashes for the briefest of moments in your mind and you hate yourself all the more for it.
His eyes shut more tightly as if trying to stop seeing the memory once more, a shuddering breath released from his lungs. “I’ve seen and done some horrible shit, Y/N, but what I saw that day? Fucking hell. No child should ever have to suffer that much, never mind at the hands of one of the few people in this cruel world that was supposed to protect him.”
Tears threatened to spill from your eyes as memories resurfaced for you too--of Yunho and his breakdowns, of the scars that littered every inch of his torso, of the slight limp in his left leg and occasional shoulder pain from broken bones that never managed to set quite right. Memories of that sweet, sweet boy made of sunshine and smiles consumed in nightmarish slumber, still trying to fight off the ghosts of his past that felt all too real to him. Frozen. Unable to move. Unable to protect himself.
San may have seen part of the actual abuse Yunho had to endure, but Y/N had to witness for the past five years how he tried so damn hard to not slip back down, even if it sometimes oozed out of the cracks in the walls he built. And Seonghwa? Jesus, Seonghwa was the one who who truly saw it all--how it almost broke Yunho, how he almost broke himself to try to get away from his own mind.
Guilt resurfaced as a heavy knot in your throat, imagining Yunho starting to slip back again. There were triggers but he’d worked well to cope in a healthy way, they all supported him in managing his responses, in helping him re-associate some of those triggers with better, nicer things. But being this close again? God, you should really go back home, end all of this.
But you need to do this. Yunho needs you to do this much at least.
“Y/N,” San coaxes you away from your thoughts, and if he noticed that you disappeared for a few moment, he did not mention it. “I care for you. More than any person on this earth. Would travel through the nine circles of hell and back to protect you. You know that right?”
Strangely, you did. From the reverent way he looks at you, holds your hand, speaks to you. Faking something like that must have needed intervention from some higher being. Without another thought, you nod.
“Good. So you know that I want to keep you far away from things that may harm you. I’m already a dangerous person with many enemies but the Jeong family have a darkness I couldn’t bare to have you near.”
“I don’t need you to protect me, San,” you whisper, voice feeling fragile in such a raw moment. “Got plenty of darkness in me already.”
He looks at you with this sad sort of smile. “I know. Wanna kiss you for being so strong and scorch the world for not stopping itself from hurting you.” He brings the hand still in his own up to his lips, letting it brush along the slightly rough skin in the barest of kisses as if content with feeling the warmth of your soul through your very fingertips. “I’ve been around enough sorrow to know when there is still goodness in something and you have so much goodness in you despite what you’ve been through.”
He pauses.
“Maybe one day you’ll find enough comfort with me to confide in it all. But until then, let me shield you from the unnecessary pain.”
You don’t remember how much time passes as the words seep into your very heart and bones and soul. While the very concept of being cared for and shouldering the burden you carry has always been an unspoken rule between your family and even more so the boys, you’ve never had someone say that to you and it feels almost overwhelming to hear it. As if your brain is having a hard time processing the fact that here is someone on this godforsaken earth who cares for you as deeply as San does and would want to stay by you side in spite of all of that.
In spite of the damage to your soul and pieces missing from your heart.
Even while you were with Dominic, there was a side of you that you felt was unworthy of being seen--shameful even--though it wasn’t you fault. You still had to keep guards up sometimes even with Mingi, and in this very room where the outside world with every messy thing that came with it was just noise far down below, you started to feel the toll it took on you. The energy is sucked out of you, the weight of keeping it up all the time.
Suddenly, confiding in Choi San didn’t seem like a bad idea at all.
But then you remembered that some of the bricks that made up that wall you held up against him weren’t yours to share with him.
“There’s...” Tongue flickering out to lick your lips, you’re unsure of how to phrase this in a way that won’t divulge in too much information, “I just...” You take a deep breath to calm your nerves. God, why was your heart racing that fast?
San could tell the conundrum you were going through. Went through the same after all, with how much he could divulge you with for he too had walls built up and for good reason.
He took the initiative. “You asked about Jeong Yunho specifically... why?”
“I wanted to know what you knew about him.” But neither of you mentioned how from the crumbs San gave you, both of you knew that Yunho was the boy he was talking about. Stiffening the air like dust in an abandoned house.
“Why?” he repeated.
Your mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. Damn it, you were good at this. Good at coming up with shit on the spot--why isn’t your brain working right now? Why do you want to tell him the truth? That truce between you two is starting to shrivel up, walls pushing back up again--
“Remember, Y/N, I can’t give you an answer if you don’t give me a good enough reason in return.” San’s last plea to get you to open up so he could do the same.
You pull your hands from his grasp to run through your hair, and the walls start to go up even higher the both of you can feel it.
Blowing a frustrated breath out you get up from your seat, turn your back to him as you make your way to your nightstand.
The man lets his face crumble as his heart drops in his stomach all the while he watches you walk away from him both physically and mentally. He leans back into the chair, feeling--for the first time in a long time--defeated.
He sees you grab the glass of water on your nightstand and finish the whole thing in a few big gulps. He wants to tell you to be careful, that you’ll choke, but his voice is caught in his tight throat unable to come out.
Setting the glass back down, you take a moment before you turn back to him. There’s something in your eyes that tells him, maybe your wall isn’t fully up yet. There’s some cracks. And then you ask him, in a soft voice, “stay with me the night?” You try to regain some playfulness by narrowing your eyes in a mock glare. “No funny business.”
He musters up as much of a smile as he can at the moment--it’s weak and tired, but there’s the remnants of that brief truce there. He doesn’t speak and neither do you as he walks to the opposite side of the bed and crawls in with you.
You both lie on your backs, you looking up at the ceiling while he looks at you. Making no move to touch you, not even move closer to you.
You close your eyes, letting him gaze at you with those curiously sad eyes of his. So attuned to his breathing, you can tell even when a lot of time--or a little, you can’t tell as the concept doesn’t seem to exist in this room right now, but it feels like a lot--he still hasn’t fallen asleep yet. His thoughts are loud but not loud enough for you to hear them.
He feels the same way about you. Knows that you’re awake, mind running with thoughts that escape him and damn it fucking hurts to be this shut out from you.
You want to speak the words--any words to him or at least intertwine one of your fingers with his. To show some semblance that things have changed, that you have not shut him out completely like he might think.
But at one point, you lose the mental battle and fall into a dreamless sleep.
Tumblr media
When you wake, San is nowhere to be found. You’re curled up facing where he would be and feel around to notice that the spot is cold and that side of the bed is made. He’s been gone for a while, you confirm once you notice the time on your phone, because it is almost one in the afternoon and he must have had business to attend to.
That didn’t stop the faint pang inside you at his sudden absence after last night.
Groaning, you roll you body up, trying to rub the sleep from your eyes while you think how could things change so much for you in such a short space of time since you met San.
His crazy seems to be rubbing off on you, since you feel some kind of attachment to him? Or at least, you feel a little more empty when he is not there. Jesus, at this rate, you might actually want to stay with him by the end of the year.
You find that thought terrifying, though not as all-consuming as you expected it to feel. Like the kind of terror that came with standing at the edge of a cliff that you can just as easily back away from into the safety of land rather than stare at the rough dark waters crashing on jagged rocks below.
You have been through enough shit to know when you really need to talk to someone about how you’re feeling. And right now you need to talk to someone.
Run through the talking points in your head as you freshen up in the bathroom, already knowing that today feels like a pyjama day. You feel sick just thinking about the idea of talking about your feelings, that familiar sense of dread curdling in your stomach. So you don’t leave the confines of your bedroom for a late breakfast--you can barely think of stomaching the smell of breakfast.
Cold sweats lace your palms as you click on Mingi’s contact on your phone, practice some level breathing as ringing presses against your ear. It doesn’t take long for you to hear his voice.
“Hey, wassup?”
“Hey,” you try to say confidently but it comes out as a strangled whisper from the funny feeling in your throat.
A pause, and then, “What happened?”
The instinctive answer comes out despite all the mental preparation. “Nothing.”
“Y/N, what happened?”
“Nothing...”
He sighs, “The last time you answered the phone like this and I played along, you were in a horrible situation. I’m not making that mistake again. Now tell me, what happened?”
You don’t know why but hot fat tears spill from your eyes in quick succession against your will. Silent as they come, you know he can tell. He was always able to. “Mingi, I don’t know what to do,” you whisper as it all comes crashing down on you.
“It’s been weeks since everything’s happened and I don’t know why but it’s all come crashing down and I just don’t know what to do.”
“Okay, that okay,” he coaches, “Just grab onto the closest threat. Start from there. Bit by bit.”
“I just,” you try to take deep breaths and make a clumsy attempt to explain the pent up emotions, “it’s so stupid but it only really just hit me how much Dominic hurt, you know? I didn’t love him but I did like him and just... being treated like that, like I’m nothing of worth fucking hurt. It was the first time I was with someone since...him and it ended up hurting me again and I swore I would never let my heart get hurt again and...and--”
You pause. Breathe.
“And then there’s what I’m putting Yunho through simply by being here with San, all because I wanted to escape my problems and feelings again. I can barely even do my job right because I can’t get a straight answer out of him--or any of the others because they’re tight-knit and won’t betray San like that even if it is to shit-talk his ex.”
Not even Wooyoung, who you seemed to have the most rapport with out of the three boys. You tried getting information out of them over the few days San was avoiding you (and admittedly you, him) from the initial bathroom confrontation, but each of them were tight-lipped and you knew without them having to say that San told them to remain that way about the subject.
More waves of fatigue wash over you, and you lift your legs up and rest your forehead on your knees. “And the worst part is, is that San cares about me in a way no one has. At least, not in the same sense you guys do. And it feels different but my brain is telling me it’s the same honey trap all over again. I’m holding myself back from opening up to him, which is the smart move all things considering, but some part of me wants to open up to him and that scares me so damn much.”
Mingi doesn’t interrupt even as you pause again, knowing you well enough to be able to tell when you’ve finished talking and when you’re taking a moment to find the truest words to string together even if it sometimes doesn’t make sense when it is translated from your mind.
“Last night, he came to me and told me that if I wanted answers out of him, I would have to hear why he didn’t want to tell me then tell him why he should tell me.” You sigh. “Mingi, he knows about what they did to Yunho--or at least snippets of what his dad did to him. I’m sure he knows that I know that too because I made the stupid fucking decision to ask about Yunho specifically. He said he didn’t want me near people like that...”
Isaac’s presence filled the silence but neither of you mentioned it.
“He asked me to tell him why I needed to know...and I just...couldn’t. It wasn’t my place and we both kind of shut down on each other and for some fucking reason, it hurt a bit. I just...” You let out another heavy breath. “I don’t know. It feels so messy.”
A beat or two passes before he exhales. “Okay. Yeah, that is pretty fuckin’ heavy.” You smile, breathing out a little amused laugh. “But that’s okay, Y/N. None of this shit ever comes easily.
“First and foremost, before we touch any of that other shit you just said, you need to get it through to your head that you are in absolutely no way, shape, or form, the reason why all this is being dredged up again. You of all people know how the past has a nasty way of catching up to us, and Yunho was going to have to face it sooner or later. Yes, the fact that you’re with San means that it did come sooner, but that doesn’t make it bad whatsoever.
“Yunho has his own demons and we can’t protect him forever, no matter how much we want to. If anything, this couldn’t have come at a better time. Our future isn’t exactly secure in the field we work in so at least it’s coming now when we are all here to support him through his problems and help him grow. But remember, we’re not powerless kids anymore. Yunho knows that too, he’s just trying to get his brain up to speed with it in his own way.”
You want to protest that you can do more, but the words die on your tongue as you tell our brain that Mingi is right. Yunho has to work through his own demons, and you being there to baby him through the process would be more counter-productive than anything.
Mingi clears his throat. “You’re stubborn and a major empath, so I dunno if any of that stuck.”
You smile faintly. “I’m trying to make it.”
“Good. Now, onto the whole spaghetti of emotions you’re having about San and relationships.” He sighs, “you weren’t wrong when you said it was messy. But don’t think for a second that it’s not supposed to be. Your hearts been stomped on to high heaven so I don’t blame you one bit for not wanting to give San a chance.” You open your mouth to protest but he already hears the fight coming and cuts it out of the roots, “I know we joked about you falling for San at the beginning and you have this whole aversion to the concept of ‘love’ so for arguments sake, we’ll just say you like him and chalk this situation as Fate being the bitch that it is.”
He hesitates for a moment. “I was actually planning on telling you this later, when you had finally come to terms with your own feelings about the whole Dominic thing but it seems like you did that already--which, by the way, I am very proud of you. Even if it did come out as a part of an emotional explosion since you have a horrible habit of bottling everything in until you’re bursting at the seems.”
“Thanks,” your tone is deadpan with an underlying tone of amusement to it.
“No problem. Anyway, Seonghwa made Yeosang and I do some more research into San--he was doing all this fancy computer wizard shit again and I did some incognito spy shit--and he really doesn’t seem that bad of a person. I mean, yeah, he’s got as much blood on his hands as the next mobster but he just seems to be a nice person? Again, relative to him being part of the mafia world. So if you wanted to open up to him... I mean, I don’t see why not.”
“He could have that side to him, the one he doesn’t show to everyone. He could hurt me.”
“Y/N, don’t take this the wrong way... but that will always be a possibility with anyone you meet--be it a potential friend or partner or whatever. You learn from the pain and mistakes, and recognise the signs more easily if you see them again so you don’t get hurt as badly as the last time. You left Dominic when he cheated on you, recognising that as one of the signs that he didn’t care for you as you wanted him to. You learned from the last time. And what did you learn from Dominic that you’ll keep an eye out for?”
You don’t realise that the tears had stopped until they started again at his gentle tone and careful words. This time, slower. “I wasn’t as important to him as his ego and reputation was. He was very different to how he was in public and how he was in private,” you sniffled, recalling all the times he would try to seem Big and Masculine in from of his friends often at your expense.
It happened on your way to Jeju, when you were struggling with the luggage and he was chatting to his friends about how he was going on a casual holiday, forgetting that it was supposed to be a birthday trip for you and Mingi. Even at the birthday dinner, he tried to make a speech that fed his ego as the Good Boyfriend at the expense of one of the most important people in your life.
“The point is, you can’t be so afraid of being hurt again that you shut everyone out. That’s a painfully slow death you’ll be experiencing. You live, you hurt, you learn, you move on. What did Auntie L/N always say when we were being angsty kids?”
You mouth quirked at the memory of your mother. “Let the negative emotions come, let them teach you, but never let them overstay.” God, you missed her.
“Yeah. You’ve got that wise woman gene from her. Maybe rather than only using it for others, use it for yourself too.”
Sniffles filled in the silence as you let that sink in, silently promising yourself that you would try to do that. That you would try to be kinder to yourself.
“As for the Yunho shit in relation to San...trust your gut. You know what to say and what not to.”
“Okay,” you mumble, feeling another tsunami of fatigue wash over you again now that this is all off your chest. “You said you did some spy shit? Are you Seoul right now?”
“Damn, I was planning on surprising you. Just a few towns over, actually, but still in Choi territory.”
“What if I speak to San? About letting you come here to visit me? I don’t think he’d say no.”
He thinks for a second. “Hm, well I’m gonna see you anyway so you might as well see if you can get a less fun way too I suppose.”
This time your chuckle comes out stronger and once Mingi feels like you’re in a decent mental state, he lets you end the call.
Tumblr media
Any second-in-command worth their salt would be attuned to their leader and able to take over the heavy lifting when it was beginning to get too much for them. And Hongjoong was priceless so it didn’t take much for him to sense San’s off mood. He was not as sharp today, was not as focused as he usually was and that was strange in and of itself.
San was always great at compartmentalising and separating his work and personal affairs so they did not bleed into one another--which was a fucking feat considering most of the men in these circles lived and breathed their work life (not a very healthy thing to do) and also the fact that San used to date Jeong Dae who came from a very powerful family in their own right.
There was only one being who could frazzle this impenetrable man.
Wooyoung and Jongho had spent the most time with you and so had begun to take a liking to you--then again, the what they considered to be a nice partner was a line down all the way in the ninth circle of hell after their experience with Dae.
More than anything, he was frustrated because you do seem like a nice person--stuffed full of secrets that you hold tightly to your chest more so than the average person--but he cared more for San’s heath and right now, he looked fucking terrible.
He knew that if the other man got a whiff of how Hongjoong was trying to take care of him, he would get annoyed from being treated like a child. Would try that much harder to take on more of the work. Years of having to deal with him taught him the fine art of how to manipulate the stubborn ass into looking after his own wellbeing but being willing to share some of the workload.
But even masters of craft come along a new situation they are unsure of how to handle once in a while.
“San?”
“Yeah,” he mumbles absentmindedly, staring at sheets of paper the blue-haired man knows for a fact is reading two-three times over just to get the words to make sense to him through the foggy lethargic haze clouding his brain. Could see it in his eyes.
“Did you get any sleep last night?”
He takes in a deep breathe. “Uh... not much. Couldn’t sleep.”
“How come?”
“Just...couldn’t.”
He hums in response, not taking his eyes of the sheets in from of him. “I think we both know that’s a lie.”
San slaps his own documents onto his desk, rubbing his eyes in frustration. “Then what do you want me to say? Do you want me to open up and talk about my feelings?”
Hongjoong presses his lips in to a thin line. “That’d be a start...” When he feels San’s growing agitation, he finally looks up at him. “You don’t have to go into detail about anything if you don’t wanna, but dude, you can’t just pretend whatever is on your mind isn’t, ya know?”
His words don’t seem to persuade him to talk, at least he thinks they don’t when the other man picks up the closest sheet of paper next to him...and then throws it back down and sits in a huff back in his chair. “She just... she just won’t open up to me. Like, I’m trying so hard here and there’s that barrier between us. Last night,” his tone softens a little as the memory washed over him, “it seemed like things were shifting. Like she was starting to let me in.”
He take a few seconds to calm the growing irritation he felt. “I extended an olive branch and when it was her turn, she just...shut me out again. I mean, I suppose she tried to offer an alternative by letting me stay with her--” he ignored the other’s raised brows “--but it wasn’t the same.”
Even with the holes and lack of your side of the story, Hongjoong had an idea of the whole situation. “Right, I can’t believe what I’m about to say but...are you sure she’s not totally at fault for that?” He notices the look he sends him. “Okay, hear me out. Imagine you’re in her shoes and some rando just up and kidnapped you. No matter how nicely you treat her, she isn’t going to bare the deepest parts of her soul to you after a few weeks. She’s not trusting, like she’s a... like a...”
He tried to find the right analogy, right at the tip of his tongue, but San beat him to it with a quiet answer. “Like a wounded animal.”
“Uh... Yeah. I think. She’s got that vibe about her, that she’s been hurt before and so keeps herself closed off. And maybe you need to think about yourself too. With what we do, you’re going to have to keep secrets from her--you are keeping secrets from her by being cryptic and not willing to answer her questions. I mean, you’re not entirely wrong for not wanting to tell her about the Jeongs, but do you really think she would want to give up any of those pieces of herself she holds so close to her chest to someone who won’t fully do the same for her?”
Hongjoong has a strong sense you’re a lot more intelligent than what you make yourself seem, but he doesn’t say that. “I don’t know what to do or how to fix your situation--only you and Y/N can do that--but you should at least see her side of things too. And maybe just take it a bit easy when you’re this annoyed because you’re not getting much done and that’s pissing you off even more.”
“...Geez, dude. Okay.” San rubs his hands over his face and sighs. “Okay. Yeah. I’ll, uh... are you good with handling this?”
“It’s literally my job.”
“Alright,” he huffs in amusement, then stands up to gather his coat and phone, ready to call his driver to take him back to the apartment. “Oh, and--”
Hongjoong cuts him off without looking back at him. “Yeah, everything’s ready at home. I’ll let the house staff know that we’re coming back this weekend and to make sure it’s all perfect.”
San smiles at him in gratitude. “What would I do without you?”
“Not a damn thing, that’s for sure.”
Yeah, Hongjoong doesn’t need to be told if he’s a good Second. He damn well knows it from the grateful look in his best friend’s eye. That’s enough for him

Enchanted
Tumblr media
This absolutely stunning creation was made by the lovely and talented @/artbyainna on Instagram. I have been so anxious to share it with you - but waited for @tobias-carrick-appreciation-week. I'm so glad it's here!
In my HC, I built on the canon version of their meeting in A Deli...ghtful Meeting. But I've always wondered about the leadup. The moments when life is about to turn upside down in the most delightful way, but we don't see it coming. The only thing Tobias was willing to commit to was remaining a bachelor. Beautiful, even brilliant women were common in his life, but never captivated him for long. But after a brief meeting with this woman, he could not get her out of his mind. These are the moments before Tobias Carrick's life was turned upside down... and he never saw it coming. This story is told from his POV.
Book: Open Heart Book 2 Pairing: Tobias Carrick x F!MC (Casey - eventual) Featuring: Aurora Emery Rating: Teen Words: 1,600 A/N: The original title was not Enchanted, but as I was writing this, my daughter was playing the Taylor Swift song of the same name, and it fit so perfectly that I went with it. Participating in @aprilchallenge - Love is in the Air.
Tumblr media
"Come on, jackass!" The steam was practically pouring out of Tobias's ears as his hand lay on the horn, refusing to lift it until the moron blocking the intersection moved out of the way. The moron finally did… just in time for the light to turn red.
His jaw clenched as he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, reminding himself it wasn't worth becoming this upset over. When his eyes opened, the light turned green, and only two thoughts remained. One: his best friend Kerry was really getting to him with her bullshit relaxation tips, and two, he couldn't be mad at her because they seemed to work.
His attitude improved as he drove off, but the morning traffic didn’t. A woman in a non-descript sedan waved at him as he sat in traffic, her eyes imploring him to wait so she could get out of her tight parking spot. He may have behaved differently a few moments ago, but a small smile tugged at his lips as he waved her on.
Then he had an idea. A parking spot on the streets of Boston? Unheard of. And that spot just happened to be located a few doors down from his favorite deli? That wasn't a coincidence. No, this was divine intervention telling him to reward himself with a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from Boston Pocket. Without another thought, he parallel-parked his Santorini black Jaguar into the freshly vacated spot with ease.
It was a cool morning for late August, and he promised himself he'd go for a jog after breakfast. After all, God may have felt Tobias deserved that sandwich, but He wasn’t ensuring his toned abs. Nope, that rested squarely on him.
Bells jingled, and a delightful aroma wafted over Tobias as he opened the door. He inhaled deeply to take it all in. Yep, this would be well worth an extended jog.
"Whose next?" A young man barked from behind the counter.
Tobias raised a hand. "Bacon, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll. Salt and pepper."
"Want ketchup?"
"Do I look like a heathen to you?" Tobias leered, and the young man's grin made it clear that he shared his sentiments.
"Coming right up!"
With nothing to do but wait, he rested his elbow against the counter to take in the sights. Tobias Carrick had an unrivaled ability to look like he belonged anywhere, and this was no exception. So as he blended into the background, he quietly watched everyone who didn't.
The older woman dripping in diamonds and expensive designer clothes, a little dog resting comfortably in a Louis Vuitton carrier. He couldn't imagine what she was doing here. Of course, she probably knew this dive had the best breakfast in Boston, money be damned. Two high school kids uncrumpled the bills in their hands to find they did have enough to add homefries to their order. Then there was the cute little brunette with her shapely legs well-displayed in a tiny black linen skirt and matching high heels. Her eyes were waiting to meet his as they trailed slowly over her body, and he took the smirk on her cherry-stained lips as an invitation that he was eager to accept. He was about to take a step in her direction when a melodic laugh from the booth behind him created a distraction.
"It sure would!" The beguiling beauty beamed, mindlessly tucking an errant strand of her long, golden locks behind her ear. All at once, Tobis felt compelled to learn what “it” was and what it was going to do?
With the brunette who had held his attention moments before forgotten, he couldn't peel his eyes off this new vision. He stared, spellbound, as she animatedly waved her hands and joyfully conversed with her companion. Tobias Carrick observed for a living, and he had assessed her in mere moments. He was confident that no one could make a ratty, old Henley and a likely decades-old pair of jeans look that good so effortlessly, and that smile could not be faked. There was something so genuine about her, and he couldn’t look away.
He let out a little chuckle when he noticed her morning beverage of choice: a chocolate milkshake with the whipped cream already scooped off. He wasn't sure if it was revolting or adorable. If attributed to anyone else, the prior may have been the victor, but in this case, the latter undeniably won. His breath hitched when she leaned over and wrapped her lips around the straw. Never in his life was he more jealous of an inanimate object.
That solidified it. He had to work his way into their conversation. He was not leaving without her number, but how? He continued to watch her serendipitously, a pleasant smirk on his lips when he heard a loud crash.
The doctor in him took over, and he rushed toward the man collapsed on the floor, but, to his shock, the object of his affection had beat him to it.
"I’m getting his pulse!” The beauty yelled.
Was she a doctor?
“Sir!” Her companion hollered and pointed directly at him. “I need you to call 911!”
“I’m dialing now.”
He watched carefully, ready to jump in if needed, but he was a physician long enough to know that too many cooks spoil the soup, and the two women had things under control. Well, at least one of them did.
“Thank God you stopped me, Aurora!”
Thank God, indeed. He thought, then his eyes widened… Aurora? Could that be?
The paramedics barreled through the front door and made a beeline to the patient on the floor.
“Dr. Emery, what have we got?”
A smug smile came to his lips. It was her.
With the situation well under control, Tobias pulled out his phone and began texting rapidly.
… still want to snag Harper Emery?
… has she been receptive to you?
…. I’ve got an idea…
He looked up from his phone, dismayed to find Harper Emery’s niece and her stunning companion were gone.
“Shit!” he muttered, reminding himself they couldn’t have gone far.
“They were the doctors that just helped that man, right?”
The waiter stood before the abandoned table, holding a tray of food as the server behind the counter nodded.
“At least it wasn’t an eat-and-ditch,” the young man shrugged. “They didn’t eat and only ditched to save a guy's life.”
“Hey,” Tobias jumped in. “Do me a favor. Pack their food up… right away!”
“Were you with them?” the waiter asked.
Tobias pulled a hundred-dollar bill from his pocket and handed it to the waiter. “Too many questions!” He spat. “Wrap the food and give it to me… quick… oh, and keep the change!”
“I’m on it!” The waiter grinned, handing Tobias a brown paper bag in a flash.
The bells that had greeted him upon entering now heralded his exit as he rushed outside. The two women were half a block away, well within catching distance.
“Doctors! Wait!” he yelled. “You forgot your breakfast!”
He had a definitive purpose now, and he knew what needed to be done. Still, it took all his strength to forget about wooing the young Dr. Emery to Kenmore. Every primal instinct within him was screaming to forget everything except getting this angel’s phone number. But when he stood before them, he handed the bag to Aurora.
“Oh, thanks!” The young Emery smiled. “Can I pay you for this?”
“Don’t mention it,” he said with his signature grin. If there was one thing he knew how to do, it was charm. “I’m more than happy to treat a couple of heroes to breakfast.”
“Oh, we’re not heroes,” Emery replied. He may have been focusing on her, but his peripheral vision was finely tuned in to her friend, and was she ever checking him out.
“You were really something back there,” he continued.
He was impressed with his ability to focus. After all, luring Harper Emery to Kenmore would be a huge feather in his cap, and getting her niece there first could be just the ticket. This would really impress the top brass, and he had reason to want to do that. There was only one Aurora Emery. Pretty women, were a dime a dozen, right? If this one slipped through his fingers, there’d be another… eye on the prize. Then, she had to go and speak.
“She’s one of the best doctors at Edenbrook,” the beauty chimed in.
“I don’t doubt it,” he said with a broadened smile. God, she sounded like an angel. Focus! “It takes a very cool head under pressure to catch a detail like a cyanosis.”
Somehow, he managed to keep the conversation on point, wrapping it up by placing his business card into Aurora’s hands.
“Let me know if you’re ever looking for a change of pace.”
Less than a second after completing his task, the little head regained control of the big one. His eyes slowly raked over the tall beauty at Aurora’s side. He could feel the heat emanating between them, and he knew she felt it, too, when he saw the delicate blush on her cheeks. OK, she was interested. And when their eyes met, he was careful to not look away. He wanted to ask for her name. Her number. Could he buy her a coffee? Any chance she’d ditch her friend and grab breakfast with him? But he thought better of it and offered an enticing smile instead. He had to play this right, but this was not over.
After exchanging goodbyes, he turned and jogged back to the deli. But when he reached the door, he couldn’t help but look back once more. And was he ever happy that he did. He smiled with delight when he saw her staring right back at him. With his ego fully restored, he gave her a little wink before returning inside.
No. This was not over, and this is not where their story ended. If Tobias knew anything, he knew that he would see to that.

so basically florence & reader have been dating for a 2 years and a half now and theyre convinced theyre soulmates.
readers already met flos family and they ADORE her, shes really close friends with both raffie and toby, arabella also loves her, and her parents arent anything different, they absolutely love her too and reader even cooks a lot with clint because she loves cooking and shes really good at it so they share tips & cook together for the family. her mother, deb, admires reader a lot and wants her to marry florence (and the whole family wants it too)
florences been thinking about proposing for a really long time, so she took the perfect opportunity and planned on doing so in their family vacacion in greece.
on one of the days the whole family had different plans, toby went to mykonos for the day with her girlfriend, deb and clint also went but they went different ways and raffie went with arabella to milos. so there was only florence and reader left, so florence decided this was the perfect chance for proposing, she took reader to a gorgeous restaurant in santorini called 'amente restaurant' where they saw the most breathtaking sunset youd ever seen.
when they finished dinner, she took reader to a gorgeous spot where you could see the views and proposed.
OKAY THIS IS SO LONG IM SO SORRY I GOT EXCITED
i know this is almost like a fic but could you make it longer and also improve the part where florence proposes and make it so cute and idk fluff

Tumblr media
The weather was almost a little too perfect in Greece, not that you or anybody else were complaining. The sun kissed your skin just right, the breeze was refreshing and of course, the views were breath-taking. Florence, yourself, and her family decided to take a family trip to the family’s go-to place for some must needed family time. Florence was about to start going some press tours for her soon to be released movie as well as doing other things her job required so you were going to soak up this time as much as you could.
Since the Pugh family visit here often it was no surprise that they ended up buy a holiday house. When you first started dating Florence 2 and a half years ago, she kept saying how much she wanted to take you to Greece with the family and show you around, show you all her favourite restaurants and cafés, show you the beautiful beaches and her favourite places to watch the sun set. You still remember the first time you joined the loud and loving family on their visit, Raffie was just as excited as Florence was, maybe even an inch more.
You’ve always gotten along extremely well with Florence’s family. At Christmas when you’d join Flo in Oxford, she’d find you in the kitchen with Clint giving him an extra pair of hands with dinner. This was no surprise to her, even though she also loved help her father, she also loved enjoying a few naughty cocktails with Raffie and Arabella. Toby would also join them with his favourite drink. You learnt a lot from Clint whenever you were both in the kitchen together, you loved to cook and often would be cooking alongside Flo back in LA. Clint would show you different things that you didn’t know as well as giving you a few tips, some you’d already knew because of Florence but you didn’t tell him that. He was always so happy to show you new things and always joked about kicking Flo out of the kitchen just to let you cook by yourself so he could see what you’ve learnt.
It was safe to say the family loved you just as much as you loved them. They always welcomed you with open arms, Gran holding you extra tight just to show you her appreciation for making her granddaughter the happiest she’s been. Deb ways always open about calling you her future daughter in law and would introduce you to other family members and family friends as “This is Y/n, my daughter in law” or “This is Y/n, Florence’s wife” even though the two of you weren’t engaged or married, although it was usually spoken about late at night.
The family vacation to Greece was booked for two weeks, the first week was mostly window shopping, trips to the beaches, cafés for lunch and hanging out at different restaurants for dinner along with plenty of social drinking. Florence wasn’t shy when showing you off, she’d always be seen having her arms wrapped around you, placing kisses anywhere she could, one of your favourites was when she’d leave soft kisses on the back of your shoulder of neck when she’d hold you from behind.
You were currently relaxed on the shared bed reading a book you had brought along. It was a little after 4pm when Florence threw herself next to you, “So Tobs and Scar are going to Mykonos tomorrow with mum and dad. Raffie and Bells are taking Grans to Milos so that just leaves us” Florence looked up at you, resting her chin on the palm of her right hand. You marked the page in your book and placed it on your lap, “and what would you like to do my love?” you asked with a smile. “Well, there’s this restaurant in Santorini that I want to take you too” she battered her green eyes are you, “you can dine outside, they have this big open view of the ocean and the sunsetting it just beautiful” she adds.
“Sounds like a plan” you give her another smile. “We can do some shopping and stuff throughout the day but wear that dress I packed for you” she sat up. “Wh-what dress?” you looked at her with a confused look. “Oh, you didn’t notice? I brought you a little something” she smirks and walks over to her suitcase and pulling out a Farm Rio shopping bag.
“I saw you saved this on my phone the other week when you were looking through the website” she says placing the bag in your lap. “Flo, you didn’t have to get me anything” you expressed. “Just open it” she sat at your feet. Carefully, you pulled out the white dress that was covered in a blue pattern, you’d been eyeing it off for a few weeks, but you forgot all about it since being on vacation. “Baby, thank you” you looked at Flo who was already smiling at you. “No need to thank me, darling” she leant over and kissed your soft lips.
The following day, Florence took you to Santorini where the two of you enjoy some sunbathing on the beach, Florence made sure you were covered in sunblock before even getting comfortable with a book. Once it got a little warmer the two of you took a dip in the ocean, the water cooling your hot skin instantly. “Do we really have to leave next week?” you asked, clinging onto Florence as the two of you stayed afloat. “I’m sure I could squeeze and extra few days if you really want” she smiled, placing a kiss on the tip of your nose. “I’ve just having a blast here, no stress, completely relaxed and we finally got to spend time together without work. Am I wrong for not wanting this to end?” you pouted. “Of course not, darling.  Why don’t you take some more time off work and come with on the press tour?” Florence suggested.
You’d been thinking about doing that, just because she can be gone for months at a time and when she gets back, she’s only going to go back to readings and shooting scenes, but you also didn’t want her to pay for everything. It was an understanding between the two of you that you enjoyed making your own money and never wanted Florence to feel like she had to pay for everything just because she was able too.
“I want too but I’m not sure if I could go for the whole tour” you replied, Florence looked into your eyes, “let me cover it, just this once. I want you there baby, I want you by my side, I don’t want to be in hotels thinking about you while you’re at home. Please and if it’ll make you feel better you can just pay it back” she suggested, knowing money was the one thing stopping you. You thought about it, “just this once?” you said with slight hesitancy, “baby, I’d buy the world for you, I don’t care how much. I just want you by my side”
How could you say no to her now? “Okay, but let me put some of my own money towards it”
Florence’s face lit up with a smile “of course darling” she replied before pulling you closer in the water, kissing you passionately.
After a few hours at the beach the two of you moved on to a small café not far from the beach for a light lunch as Flo hinted that dinner would be bigger. You couldn’t keep your eyes off Florence whenever she was taking mental images of the sights around her, you found yourself falling more in love with her by the minute. After lunch it was a little widow shopping which always led to you buying things that you didn’t exactly need but you loved the design or thought it would look cute displayed at home.
Dinner time quickly came around and the two of you were starting!
“Welcome to Amente, do you have a reservation?” the waiter greeted with a warm smile.
“I do, it should be under Pugh” Florence returned the smile. “Oh yes! My apologies Miss Pugh, this way” he takes two menus from the counter and leads you both outside to a table by the water. “Woah!” you gasped, Flo looked back at you and chuckled at your facial expression, “this place is beautiful” you said.
“Please, take your time looking at our menu and I’ll come back shortly to take your order. Would you like a bottle of water to start off?”  the gentleman asks as Flo pulls your chair out for you, “thank you” you take your seat. “Water would great, thank you” Florence replied to the waiter then took her seat. “I can’t believe you’ve never taken me here before!” you looked to Florence, “I was saving it for something special” she smiled.
The two of you opened the menu, humming and haring at the many choices. “Everything sounds so good!” you boosted. “Get whatever you like darling, it’s on me tonight. No excuses” Florence looked up at you, “babe” you titled your head slightly, “I said no excuses baby” she smiled once more. After looking over the menu multiple times you both decided on a seafood dish and desert to come out after, you even tried your luck on ordering a cocktail you’ve never had before.
The night was full of small talk, laughs and reminisces of the past 2 and a half years and the food hit all the right places. “I’m so lucky to be able to share this part of my life with you” Florence spoke, looking into your eyes. “I’d say I’m the lucky one” you replied sipping on your third cocktail. “I have one more surprise for you”
“Baby, you’ve done more than enough, I’ve had the perfect day! What else could you possibly have for me now?”
“You’ll have to wait and see” she winked playfully, “but I do want to leave shortly because the sunset here is absolutely beautiful, but I know a place where it’s magical” she adds. “It is really beautiful here, I honestly can’t believe you’ve kept this place a secret for this long!” your eyes travelled to the sun starting to set, filling the sky with different shades of yellow and oranges. “You deserve the best” Florence said as she took in the moment with you.
You and Florence had one last cocktail before she took you to Caldera, a popular place to capture the setting sun. Little did you know, Florence had asked around and made a request that the popular viewpoint would be closed off for just a little while, it took a lot of convincing, but she managed to pull it off.
“Flo! Look at that view!” you gasped, “it’s beautiful oh my god!” you added, the sunset completely making you speechless. “it’s so clear, open and peaceful” you managed to explain as you felt Florence’s arms wrap around your waist. “It’s truly beautiful” she said softly near your left ear. You slightly lent back into her hold, resting your head in the crook of her next. “Thank you for such a beautiful day” you said as the two of you kept your eyes on the sunsetting over the ocean. The two of you stayed like this for a moment longer, Florence wanting to time this perfectly. You pouted when you felt her release her hold and move away from you.
“Darling, turn around, I want a photo of you and the sun set” you heard her voice speak. You couldn’t help but smile, turning on the heels of your feet you saw her, on one knee, holding a valet red box. “Florence?” your heart skipped a beat or two. She had a soft smile on her lips, “I’ve thought about this day since the first time you came to Greece with me” she starts.
“I remember how over the moon you were to join us, you were so excited, like a kid at Christmas. Everything amazed you, even the birds managed to sweep you off your feet. I knew then, you were going to the only person I’d bring back here” Florence smiles at the memory, “I’ve had this planned for weeks, I was just waiting for the perfect time for us to be along so I could do this” she goes on, “Y/n, darling, when I look into your eyes I only see the future, I see a happiness that I only want to share with you. You’re the only person I’ve loved so deeply, and I will continue to love you deeper and deeper, to hold you tighter, to kiss you longer and to laugh with you louder. You’re the one I want to come home too, you’re the one I want the world to know is mine, you’re the one I want to spend Christmas with when we get snowed in, you’re the one I want to drink my morning tea with every day. Baby you’re the one, you’re the only one”
Tears of happiness filled your eyes; your hand covered your mouth as you listened to her words. “Y/n, darling” she tried to hide the smile tugging at her lips, “will you marry me?” she finally asks.
“Like that is even a question” you smiled, tears slowly streaming down your cheek, “get up here and kiss me” you added. Florence chuckled, slowly getting back on her feet, “so is that a, yes?”
You nodded, pulling her closer to you, “Yes, yes I’ll marry you” you whispered with a wide smile. Florence’s looked down and pulled the lid back on the box and carefully placed the ring on your finger. “I cannot wait to call you my wife” she looks back into your eyes, stroking your cheek with her free hand, “I love you so much” she says before crashing her lips onto yours. You wrap your arms around the back of her neck and deepen the kiss.

🧨💥Vinny (atlantis) x reader relationship headcanons pt 2🌺✨
(Hi and hello my fellow Vinny Santorini simps! Are any of you absolutely STARVED?? Y’all want something to snuff out that hunger that can only be relieved by the delicate touch of Mr. Vinny Santorini?? WELL HERE I AM TO HELP, IT’S DINNER TIME!! LET’S BEGIN MY FELLOW GOBLINS)
(Edit : all of my headcanons are gender nonspecific when it comes to the reader, and it usually will be if no one specified)
Tumblr media
His love language : Gift giving, Words of affirmation/affection, and Physical touch
His gifts can be two things; the totally normal and overly romantic option of bouquets specifically created with flowers that represent his love and affection for you and then there’s…
The literal bombs he gifts you during missions simply because he can. But he also does it because it gives him a chance to totally geek out about said explosive to you, he just loves talking about one of things that makes him to happy to a person that makes him happy 💖
That’s just the tip of the iceberg of what this man would do for you once he gets more comfortable with your relationship with him, I feel like he wouldn’t be afraid to express his love and devotion for you.
It isn’t a secret that Vinny is a proud man, a man who can and will openly boast about his skills and triumphs of being a mercenary, but most importantly he loves to boast about you.
Whether he be talking about your interests, skills, or even your personality- He has definitely talked his fellow mercenaries to DEATH when it comes to you and something you probably did that he found cute enough to share with them.
This is something they are NOT used to, he used to be less verbal and more nonchalant in his body language, now he’s gushing over how you found a dandelion and gifted it to him,,, you have the power to change a man apparently.
He’s just locked and loaded to just show you off at any moment of the day, to just absolutely dote on you, sometimes he over does it just to gross Audrey out man 💀
He also does it because there’s probably a big chance of you getting absolutely flustered from all the attention and affection he gives you (which HE literally did when the romantic relationship started between you two, a simple pat on the shoulder would leave him sputtering in both English and Italian😭).
Unless you voice a distaste for him bragging about you, or him smothering you with affection of course, he doesn’t want to make uncomfortable in any way. 💖🌸
Then there’s the physical aspects of your relationship, oh boy, even though it did take him some time to get used to being touched by you without absolutely freaking out (he still kinda does, just on the inside and it isn’t for long) but now that he is far more used to it- Omg it is GAME OVER.
Whenever he can, he’ll try to either be near you or hold onto you- the most common ways he touches you is hand holding, side hugging, but the one he likes doing the most is hugging you from behind and using your head as a headrest if you are doing work,, or when you guys are cuddling (he usually does this when you guys are alone, he doesn’t want to be teased by Mole.)
Whether you be short, tall, or about same height as him, he’s going to do this to you because he is an absolute MENACE when it comes to you my friend, never forget that.
(Ok- This was both a pain and an absolute joy to write, I think I’m starting to get used to writing these!! For now, enjoy this new addition to the very sparse pieces of literary fiction about Vinny Santorini 💖🧨💥)

Sunset at Akrotiri Lighthouse. Pure magic.
Today, I want to take you on a journey to the stunning Akrotiri Lighthouse on the Greek island of Santorini.
You may have heard it referred to as the Faros Lighthouse, but don't worry, it's the same place. Faros (Φάρος) is the Greek word for a lighthouse.
Akrotiri Lighthouse is located on the southernmost tip of Santorini, in a town called Akrotiri (surprise, surprise). It was built in 1892, and since then, it has guided sailors safely through the treacherous waters of the Aegean Sea.
Now, you may be wondering why a lighthouse was necessary in the first place. Well, back in the day (and by "the day", I mean the late 1800s), ships relied on the stars to navigate the sea. But when the skies were cloudy or stormy, it made it nearly impossible for sailors to find their way. That's where lighthouses came in. They were built to guide ships with a bright, shining light that could be seen from miles away.
The construction of Akrotiri Lighthouse took two years and was finally completed in 1892. At the time, it was a state-of-the-art lighthouse with a rotating lens that could project light up to 22 nautical miles away.
Over the years, Akrotiri Lighthouse has seen its fair share of history. During World War II, the Germans occupied Santorini and used the lighthouse as an observation point. And in 1956, a massive earthquake struck the island and damaged the lighthouse so severely that it had to be rebuilt entirely.
But despite this, Akrotiri Lighthouse still stands tall today, guiding ships safely through the Aegean Sea. And let me tell you, it is absolutely worth a visit.
The lighthouse is a beautiful, white structure perched atop a sea cliff. You can see the crystal-clear waters and the surrounding cliffs and islands from there. It's truly a breathtaking sight.
But here's a pro tip: if you want the ultimate experience, visit the lighthouse at sunset. The view of the sun setting over the sea is magical. And as the sun dips below the horizon, the lighthouse's light begins to shine, creating a stunning contrast between light and dark.

a summer daze

“Where are you going?”, He shifts in his seat as you pick up your sandals. Anakin suggested you share a penthouse suite at the best resort in Santorini along with him, Padme and Obi wan. Four bedrooms and a stunning view of the sea, you couldn’t say no.
“I’m on vacation, Obi wan. I’m not going to spend it cooped up in a room. Anakin’s invited me to scuba dive by the reef.”, You respond to which he puts down his book, all his attention focused on you. “You and him…alone?”, he asks with something laced in his voice that you could not quite place. “Yes.”, you pull on the straps over your ankles as you lose your robe. Your  body con swim suit was revealed as the top layer fell to the ground. You caught a glimpse of his eyes take in the length of your exposed legs. “You could come but I’ve heard that you’re no fun.”, you tease him, waiting for him take the bait.
“I’m extremely fun.”, he was, just that he was also very responsible and diligent with work. You thought he was boring. He huffed. He didn’t know why that seemed to disturb him. “Dressed like that? Yes you are.”, he hears you say and looks down at his robes. Well you can’t judge him this very second. It was a competition and he never backed down from a challenge. “I’ll prove it to you.”, he says triumphantly.
You turn away to face the door to smile. He took the bait. “You can try.”, you raise your eyebrow as you watch determination settle on his features, his hold tightening against the arm rest. “I should be leaving. You know Anakin doesn’t like to wait.”, you say and leave.
He throws himself back on the cushions. He never threw tantrums but he wanted to now, to prevent you from going, to get you to stay but now he had to compete with  his best friend? The young and cool boy who was able to charm his way through anything. He turned to look at the beach. He wasn’t going to get anything accomplished by sitting here. The first thing he needed to do was to lose the robes.
You arrive at the scuba diving deck to notice that Anakin indeed did not wait for you. Padme had made a spontaneous decision to join him and now you were stranded on the first activity you set out to do. But embarrassment began to set in after you remembered how you had made fun of Obi wan. He cannot see you like this, he won’t live it down. But you reassure yourself that he was the last person to be on the beach.
You turn to leave when you see a figure jog up the deck. His blonde locks tucked underneath a cap, his hand clutching onto a cloth bag slung over his broad shoulders when you realized he was wearing a floral shirt buttoned down only halfway through, a pair of shorts and  black coolers that hid his gleaming eyes. You almost drop the towel in your hands. He clearly won the swim suit round. The robes have been hiding his physique for far too long.
“Don’t go with him.”, he was yelling out to you, urgency and a hint of jealousy in his tone. He catches up to you. “He went on without me.”, you tell him and his cheeks turn pink under the sun. “His loss.”, he smiles and you began to like this moment much better than scuba diving. “It doesn’t matter, I’ve changed my mind. I’m attending the party at the beach front.”, you tell him and see the edge of his mouth tip down. “Its not your scene I take it?”, you ask and he straightens, somehow his exposed limbs making him look even taller. “Its very much my scene.”, he stutters and you wondered if you were going too harsh on him. “There’s a crowd – you step closer with a mischievous grin, “it would include lot of dancing and singing.”, you place your finger on his firm chest and watch him inhale a sharp breath. “I don’t think you’ve got the moves for a  beach party.”, you draw your finger down to his abdomen and you feel grateful he wore sunglasses that protected you from the intensity of his gaze, that in this instant could melt you down. “I’ve got a lot of moves.”, he sounded competitive as he spoke slowly, only for you to hear. “I’ll be the judge of that.”, you smile and walk away towards the crowd.
It had been ages since he had been to one of these. The music reverberated through the ground but he recognized the band that was playing, he had been a fan of their music when they were less famous. Maybe this was a sign that he might just have the luck to prove to you he had an even better fun side than his friend. The band began to play, the crowd pushing you both closer to each other. His mind was all over the place, the safety concerns of being here but mostly the fear that you would get separated from him. So without thinking twice, his hands reached out for you, settling in the curve of your waist and pulled you close to him.
You're so close to him, your chin rests on his exposed chest. His arms safeguarding you from the frenzy that was all around you. But all you could focus on was the smell of his cologne and his warmth, your bodies moving together. You slip your hands around his torso and his eyes snap back to yours. His muscles flexing beneath the fabric wherever your fingers touched him. He leans in, your noses almost touching but you reach up and pull away his coolers to wear them. “Where do you want to go next?”, you now look into his exposed eyes, his pupils expanding into black holes capable of devouring you whole. “I’ve got some ideas.”, he says with a playful glint in his blue orbs.
You stand in front of a hot tub near the pool deck. The sun now beginning to set, it was perfect. No one else was there and the water was heated to the right temperature. You turn to him just as he peeled away his shirt, his back glistening in the golden sun. For all the bravado with which you had teased him, it had now evaporated. Your skin felt sun burnt although you had not been out in the sun for long. Your throat ran dry, no more witty words left in your system. All you could think about was the proximity the hot tub will thrust you both in. He got in first, sighing as the water lapped around him. He pulled out his wet hands and ran them through his hair to push them back. His eyes now trained on you, a challenge of his own. You weren’t a quitter. You push back your shoulder accepting his little game and got in. The water was soothing but you felt even warmer as you sat next to him. You remained quiet playing with the water as it flowed through your fingers, comfortable in each other’s company. You closed your eyes in reflex to water droplets that splashed across your face and slowly after, you heard his soft laugh. He was fun in his own gentle way which you preferred over Anakin’s brashness, but he didn’t need to know about that yet.
He was intently looking away towards the sea, the waves softly crashing against the shore. It mirrored his feelings, rising and falling. What was he thinking? This wouldn’t be remotely exciting to you compared to surfing, which was what Anakin was doing. But his mind could only focus on the faint touch of your fingers over his as you sat next to him. The navy blue swimsuit giving your skin a summer glow, your legs extended in front of him as your knees skimmed the surface of the water. “Won’t Anakin join us?”, he hears you ask and his heart sank. “No.”, he said softly, his gaze landing on your lips before getting distracted by the water droplets that were dripping down your collar bone. He looked away. This was an awful plan.
“Good.”, he hears your response as you push away and sink deeper. Your hair spreading out like ink beneath the water. He watches you break for air and knew he had forgotten how to breath. “We have this all to ourselves.”, he could only manage to gulp down and nod. If he were to look at you any longer, he was sure he would fall deeper in love. “I’ll admit. You are fun to be with.”, his ears perked up and his eyes found yours. You were a mermaid and he was a lost sailor. “I told you, I’m not that bad.”, he needed to look away but he wanted to touch you, to pull you close and whisper sweet nothings. He folded his hands into fists.
You waded towards him. “You are perfect as you are.”, you tell him and his eyes widen. You place your hand on his knee, unsure of his feelings but he doesn’t move away. Taking that as a sign, you get closer. “I wanted to get you to spend time with me outside.”, you whisper now close enough with half your body above the water. He pushed a wet strand of hair away from your forehead. “You only had to ask.”, he whispers back. Up close you notice little sea green specks in his iris and wonder if he belonged to the sea itself. “Do you want to spend your summer with me?”, you ask in a hushed tone. He pulls you close. “Yes.”, he whispers and everything around you vanished. He held the side your jaw and you lips found his.
He groaned with a hunger he had hidden for too long. He played this moment only in his head and now he felt your hands pressed against his chest, so he pulled your legs up as he positioned you on his lap. Unlike Anakin, his charm was only reserved for you. He broke for air, your eyes like two infinite dark holes that if he fell into he would be lost forever. Your siren song had drowned his blues and now he was renewed with new found energy. “Obi wan.”, he hears the whisper escape your lips and he knew he was lost forever. He kissed your jaw and the length of your neck, down to where the droplets had taunted him before. Your silky dark wet hair tangled in his fingers, while yours traced the rise of his cheekbones.
He looked up to meet your gaze, his lips looking lush, a summer daze in his eyes. Your fingers brushing the tips of his ear as you tucked his hair. He was magic and you were a believer. There was no coming back from this now.

A Memory Trip
on to a memory trip
the feeble mind slips
a voyage to Santorini
a round trip to Hawaii
a journey to redwood forest
where I am completely at rest
beneath a canopy of leaves
toss, turn, sigh and heave
by train to Baltimore and back
to Holyland on a camel’s back
catch a foot, trip, throw and fling
the opponent in a wrestling ring
a stumble by mistake, a slip
an etiquette blunder, a clip
light and nimble, a mild conduct
strike a control lever, a misconduct
a mind tumbling trip of euphoria
hallucinating a trip to Philadelphia
going fishing when the liberty bell rings
to catch a nostalgic flip, shot off a sling
back to the early days of old
with visits to classrooms untold
an intense experience of childish joy
no less than the toddler’s first toy
a flat face fall with an incisor chip
slanted front tooth with a missing tip
stars fall as the pendulum strikes twelve
an announcing clock brings on the elves
tripping over a wrinkled corrugated carpet
mind trips to memories too hard to forget
