Thailand Honeymoon Planning Tips
Tumblr media
Thailand is an exotic locale with endless itinerary options- keep it simple! We suggest no more than 2 locations with a stop in Bangkok to start. The most popular Thailand Honeymoon spots to consider are Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and for beaches and luxury villas with pools we suggest November to July Phuket, and August to October to the island of Koh Samui
2. Moving from destination to destination is not as simple as it seems Customizing your Thailand honeymoon itinerary together may seem easy at first, however, there are many different components to consider. There are different airlines, trains, flights, boat transfers, there are local transfers and tourist transfers. These can be booked online, however, a Thailand travel agent would be able to set everything up in advance alleviating this stress.
3. Be Careful! Thailand Hotels and resorts might look good to you online, but once you arrive it might be a different story. You’ve checked the Trip Advisor reviews and they look good, but who is writing the reviews? Most reviews to Thailand are written by Europeans who have a different standard than Americans, what is fantastic for them might be a terrible choice for us. The hotel choices of a good agent are primarily based on many years of client feedback, and personal visits to the hotels.
Why Book with an experienced Thailand travel planning travel agent ? Many reasons, #1 a good agent will anticipate challenges before they happen. If you plan and book it on your own and you are now the crisis solver….. and as travel professionals in business for 28 years we can assure you this is not what you want to do on your honeymoon in Thailand. Having an advocate on your side to handle problems and challenges is why you need a travel professional who is available while you are on your honeymoon in Thailand.
Our agency has been curating and planning Thailand honeymoon experiences for over 2 decades, I have been traveling to Thailand for over 20 years and have found it to be one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and one of my top ultimate honeymoon destinations.

5 Essential Greece Honeymoon Tips
The #1 European Island Hotspot for Romance, Adventure and Luxury Pool Suites
Expert tips from Renee Meyer, Owner/Founder of Unforgettable Honeymoons®
Book a Pool Suite in Santorini, You won't regret it. Couples love the over the top, Incredible Views from their private suites in Santorini, Greece. Pictured above a fabulous river pool suite at Canaves Oia Resort in Santorini- one of the top luxury Greece resorts, located on the Oia Peninsula, our favorite village in Santorini.
Santorini is the most beautiful island in all of Greece, and a must see island on any Greece honeymoon itinerary. The key is to make sure you book a hotel on the Caldera, not near the beach or inland which is tempting to do as the prices are much lower. The top Village to stay is Oia village, second Imerovigli Village. Oia has some of the best views and the nicest shopping and dining promenade. Hotels in Imerovigli have some of finest sunset views of the Caldera. The main village of Fira is too frenetic for honeymooners and is riddled with too many cruise ship passengers who flood the streets on most days.
Mykonos can be super busy in the summer, especially the month of July when it is a known party place for large groups from the UK, Spain and Germany. Alternatively, we suggest islands such as Paros, and or Naxos which are ideal for couples seeking a more laid back relaxed Greek Island beach vibe. Paros and Naxos are about a 1 hour ferry ride from Santorini, and offer couples beautiful beaches, hiking, small boutique resorts and suites with pools. Pricing is a bit lower than Mykonos in general. Learn more at the tourist board website : Discover Greece- Paros
Off Season and Shoulder Season- the end of April and mid October are off season and far less expensive, however the pools are not heated, and the ocean is too chilly for swimming. This does not mean you cannot enjoy your honeymoon in Greece, there are amazing hikes, villages to explore, wine tasting, and ancient ruins to explore. Mid-May and the first week of October are a bit warmer than off season dates, and can be a little more costly
Book a Rooftop dinner in Athens for your last night of your Greece Honeymoon. It's always best to end your honeymoon on a high note, and there is no shortage of restaurants with Acropolis views that light up the night sky. Before you go check out this Rooftop restaurant guide for Athens.

Honeymoon Quick Tips  Unforgettable Honeymoons®
The 5 Do's and Don'ts Of Honeymoon Planning, By Renee Meyer
1. Do plan and book your honeymoon with a reputable travel professional. Verify they are an expert travel agent specializing in honeymoons for at least 5+ years, and their agency is rated at least an “A” by the www.bbb.com. Make sure they speak from real travel experience, not reading out of brochure.  Check their reviews on www.yelp.com,  www.weddingwire.com and www.google.com and confirm they are a member of www.iatan.org and confirm they have a business license.  There are a lot of inexperienced agent’s online promoting honeymoons, be careful who you choose to plan our dream honeymoon.
2. Don't take your friends advice who just got back from their honeymoon about where to stay, their base of comparison might be very different from yours, what is luxury to them, might not be for you. Do your due diligence, read trip advisor reviews, review “real customer” images not the resorts images. Make sure you read reviews only from couples who live in the USA, Americans have the highest standards for travel.
3. Do sit down with your fiancé and make a list of the three "must haves" each for your honeymoon destination, and resort. Compare notes and be prepared to compromise.  Plan it together, and have a goal to choose a spot that suits both of your preferences and set a budget before you begin to plan and prepare to be flexible.
4. Don't ever book your airline reservations under your married name, it takes several weeks to get your name changed to your married name.
5. Don’t settle for a honeymoon that is your second choice, due to finances.  Before you give up your first choice,  consider heading to your dream location for a shorter stay ( 4 or 5 nights) instead of settling for a second choice honeymoon or a full week.  You won't regret it.
