I've finally put all my suscribed works into bookmarks and I got so sad,, because there were so many that had been orphaned or abandoned. And I am not blaming the authors, it is their story and they can do whatever they want, but a part of me mourns these stories that will never have and end. Some of those were favorites too, which will make it all the more bittersweet whenever I reread them. And all of this to find a fic that wasn't even there /=_=\

“We’ve talked about them together,” Bennys said. His deep voice seeps into every fiber of your being. You resist the urge to move closer to him. “Remember?”
“Or course I remember.” You break eye contact. Not because you don’t want to gaze into his eyes, you could do that forever. You break eye contact because the longer you look, the closer you are to falling apart and it's taking everything in you to keep it together.
You fantasized about this moment so many times, reuniting with Benny, the two of you getting a second chance. You didn’t ever phantom the universe would bring you two together again like this.
“To meet again this way, of all the ways,” Benny cracked a genuine smile, followed by a small chuckle.
“A place like this is right out of the giant vision board we made.” As you say the words, you remember, you remember the laughs, kisses and jokes as you and Benny worked on that board, putting down all the places you wanted to go and see.
You remember how he let you try to hang it just for shits and giggles, just so he could stand behind you and help you do it. Benny loved helping you do things, even when he didn’t have to. You remember how you took three trips together and happily crossed them off the list.
When your eyes land on Benny’s perfect face again, you can see he’s reliving the same memories you are. You can tell he wants to say something, Benny’s never been one to hold back on his thoughts, but right now, he is.
“Seems like a cool guy, Daniel.”
“Yeah, he is,” you frown. Not because Daniel isn’t, but because you can tell how much this pains Benny. But you have to remind yourself, it's been many years since you’ve been together, and you know there have been other women between then and now. “This is awkward, I know.”
Benny chuckles, “ hell yeah it’s awkward.”
When his eyes meet yours, you both chuckle and the mood lightens, a little.
“I wondered where you were all this time,” Benny lowered his gaze, “your social media just went quiet a couple years back.”
Ah. He has been keeping tabs.
“Yeah I was never a huge fan of all that anyway, and moving out here made it super easy to unplug.”
“You never said you were leaving, there at least.”
“No, I kept it quiet. Small going away party, close friends, only some family - it wasn’t announced anywhere.”
“I get that.”
“ I never saw your name, following me.”
“Secret account,” he replies with a grin,” alias.”
“Of course, sneaky move Benny.” You start thinking, trying to zone in on which account could have been him. Then it hits you. There was one focused on vintage band tees and vinyl records, classic rock - the kind of stuff you and Benny loved but you never saw an actual person pop up on the account. “Oh my god, I know which one was you!”
Benny grins, “ took you long enough sweetheart.”
You pull your eyes from his face and drop them down to his worn shirt, it’s that KISS one he loves so much. Whenever Benny went, that shirt followed. It’s not a surprise he packed it for his worldly adventure.
Benny lets his eyes explore the room, but the only thing he wants to look at is you. He wants to see your response to him calling you sweetheart.
His gaze finally settles on the huge buddha across the way. “I never took you as a Buddha statue person.”
“That's not me,” you giggle, “that's all Daniel.”
Benny laughs, “I take him as the type.”
You hold your smile a little longer, and Benny turns to look at you, catching it.
“Sunflower - “
“Yeah?”
Before Benny could reveal his thoughts, you hear your bedroom door open. Benny quickly puts a little more space between your bodies, and you see his nose crinkle a bit. You know he smells the pot, he has too.

hello!! i'm one of your patreons, I have a question about the extra nsfw cg and the 3 extra chps (which i'm asking here cause the discord channel intimidades me 🤡 but you can answer there if you want!) but I was wondering if you would consider selling them as a dlc or as an add on on itchio later😬 since i'm an on and off patreon i'm sure I would be able to play it once they come out but i'm guessing at some point the link of the patreon version would get updated for other routes and I wouldn't be able to play rubens extras again if i'm not a suscribed at the time 😬
basically i would prefer if I could just buy it and have it in one place instead of getting worried about not being a patreon and losing the playable link at some point 👉👈😅
if you take recommendations i've been suscribed to someone who had a free version of their game on itchio and another "hidden" itchio version that only patreons could get once they suscribed, and every month when it got updated she would post a password to update the game, so if you were no longer a patreon you wouldn't get the password for the new content but you would still be able to play the stuff that you unlocked before, I think a similar thing could work for your patreon links (this is ofc me talking without even knowing if doing smt like that would be difficult or not 🤡)
anyway I hope all my rambling made sense 🥲 super excited for the full version of Ruben!!
It kind of made sense, some parts lost me but I think I get the gist. I do not want to put the patreon exclusive chapters + CG up though as that basically takes away from the "patreon exclusive" part. As well as meaning that I now have to work in how much that would cost. The password part (which is the part that lost me a bit) is just more juggling what I'm already doing and I don't have the energy for it, I'm not even going to lie.
If you're talking about losing the playable link because of yourself (I mean in the way of you just didn't bookmark the link or something like that) then, I mean, I think there's ways to make sure that doesn't happen like emailing the link or messaging the link through Discord, etc. If you're talking about it in the way of, suddenly you go to access it and you no longer have access then I don't do that for finished links. Once you have it, you have it.

If you’ve read my About Me, you’d know that I’ve been an avid player and fan of the Sims for quite some time now (this isn’t even my first simblr!) and it pains me to me admit that...I’m just not that interested anymore. I’ve kinda known this for awhile now but I thought that if I dedicated a lot of my time and energy towards having the best playing experience that I could--on all of the games in the series besides The Sims 1--and being more active in the Sims community that the spark would come back but the Sims community is kinda toxic...
I’ve never experienced drama over the Sims, personally, but I’ve definietly witnessed it (I think we all have at this point) and it’s ugly, very ugly. I don’t understand how a game where you’re basically playing virtual dollhouse could amount to SO much drama but here we are!! I never thought I’d be made to feel even more less-than in my finanical situation than I have just because I couldn’t afford some stupid CC trapped behind a paywall--sure, I got a lot of the things that I wanted through other ways *wink wink* but there’s still a lot of CC, that’s usually stolen from other games *cough* second life *cough* that’s being placed behind paywalls!!! And recently I find out that not only are these talentless hacks placing CC behind paywalls, they’re doxxing their suscribers too??? Disgusting behaviour.
Honorable Nuisances: The upkeep can be a lot -_-)...
Sims 4 -- Lots of mods get broken per update so you have to find which ones are broken unless it’s a common one that updates effect i.e. MC Command Center. It’s especially annoying if you have a lot of mods to sift through. A lot of mods are locked behind paywalls.
Sims 3 -- Oh, dear...where do I start? The upkeep for this game is nothing compared to any other and I’m confident in saying that. EA left a mess and it’s yours to clean up! If you have a fairly new system and a modern graphics card, you have to make sure the game recognizes it which is a whole process, not a hard one put a process nonetheless and a lot of the worlds are riddled with routing errors and bugs that can only be fixed through mods or else you’re game will be a laggy mess, speaking of laggy, this game will stay laggy no matter how much you optimize (for) it. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super and 16GB of RAM and yet the game still lags for me, not a lot but still I thought it’d be gone!
Sims 2 -- This game is a landmine, tread lightly or you’ll get corruption! Other than that, not too much upkeep besides getting the game to recognize your modern graphics card, renaming files for quicker load times and downloading some mods to fix some of the glitches or oddities but that’s mostly it. The loading time is bad and yes, I have used the “Bulk Rename Utility” and “The Compressorizer!”, still bad.
But yeah, that’s all I had to share and I’ll probably see you in the future when I get a fucking SSD or something 💚

I think cufflinks will be on a hiatus until I can push past this weird funk. I’m not feeling this way towards other projects of mine but cufflinks is the fic that I care most about and have invested the most time and effort in. I don’t want to ruin it with whatever block is happening right now.
I was afraid that a full hiatus would allow me to be lazy and it will never be finished with my uninspired ass. But it’s not fair to the audience I have garnered to wait with me promising what I can’t fulfill.
I still have that ending in mind and I’ve been trying to take the advice given to me to try and steer the story back in the right direction. But I fear I’ve dragged the story for way too long. I’m not by any means someone who says things shortly and sweetly. this push to write more to satiate that itch for long chapters and stories comes from my own experience as a reader wanting to have longer updates. However it’s not comfortable for me to write and I do much better writing what would be the average length for chapters in novels (2000-3500 I believe) not the 5000-6000 I’ve been writing for cufflinks.
Instead i think want to finish up what I’ve started, maybe get rid of what I don’t like, rewrite, and start writing one shots to get used to shorter pieces. I love reading them the most and I think I’d enjoying writing them if I can stop making it so long 😅
I think also that I’m going to put more time and effort into engaging with other writers online. It’s something I’ve realized that I’ve been missing and I’ve been searching/doing all the wrong things for it. I want to be apart of a community and uploading passively isn’t the way to do it. I have to give more back. I need to comment, bookmark, kudos, suscribe, and follow more people on AO3 and other platforms. My social anxiety irl follows me even here and considering I’ve been a massive lurker on tumblr, I’ve never actually engaged very much out fear of doing something wrong. I’m tired of lurking and I want to actually tell the authors how much I enjoy their pieces and how talented they are. I’m tired of losing track of fics I like and being an overall asshole for not giving back.
So with this I hope that anyone who does care about my work won’t feel too bad. I know of fics that have been paused for years and then get picked back up again. I’m not planning on staying away that long.

Isn't that quite strange? They write books that makes you emotionally exhausted which you have to pay money for but their so called free books suck.
All books will be hidden behind VIP from now on. At least the good ones.
How do they decide what books get to be VIP? Like what makes them more special that they're part of VIP compared to the free books?
I mean I do think that we are going to see a quality shift. They need at least one more updating VIP book, so we will likely see one in August and I do think there is more care going into the VIP books. I hadn’t played HC yet, but the other VIP books are excellent. They are worth being premium books because the quality is there. As awful as Witness and The Nanny Affair are as single LI books, A Very Scandalous Proposal and Wifh Every Heartbeat are the opposite. These books weave an amazing love story and build incredibly likeable characters and a plot that makes sense.
So far The Unexpected Heiress is amazing. It is a period drama/mystery, which has a haunting, spooky quality to it and it is only 3. Halters in but it is doing a good job introducing the characters and the setting, I already love the MC. It has potential to be one of my favorite Choices books and I am not surprised that it is a VIP book, because it is the kind of book that appeals to the audience most likely to suscribe to VIP and the kind that will be tempting for those on the fence.
With VIP, they want to lure people into paying and get them to keep paying, by making the content they are getting feel worth it and that means delivering high quality books. The books that keep you on edge waiting to see what will happen next, the ones that leave you emotionally exhausted because the story is just that hearbreqking, the ones that have you squealing and the sad thing is I think we will see less of those books for general release, which sucks in a say because there will be less people to squeal with, to theorize with and it will cut into the feeling of community.
