HELLO wrapped number fic prompt if u want: 62 👉👈
it is perhaps a little sacrilegous to reduce trample out the days to the line bury my heart at the rodeo but. i did it anyway
this is for all my cowboy eddie girlies 🫶🏻 and for anyone who actually knows things about rodeo: i am so sorry i googled my best
Later, Buck will deny the way Eddie tells the story.
All I had to do was get on a horse, Eddie will say. That’s all it took.
And Buck will blush and grin and insist it was more than that, but—
That’s kind of the gist of it.
What happens is this: the LAFD announces the theme for their annual fundraiser, and Buck loses his mind. (There are some steps in between, but those are the broad strokes of it.)
Through some quirk of fate, some accident of the universe—a universe, Buck has long since decided, that gets off on mocking him—the theme of this year’s fundraiser is rodeo.
At first, this doesn’t seem like a problem. Buck is ready to laugh it off like he does every year, to make a perfunctory effort towards a costume, man whatever booth Bobby tells him to, and laugh about it with Eddie later.
Then Eddie opens his mouth, and says something that makes the entire long table in the firehouse loft get whiplash turning to look at him.
“I used to ride rodeo.”
Hen blinks, several times in quick succession. Chimney makes a strangled noise. Buck drops his spoon.
It splashes back into his bowl of cereal, but everyone is too focused on Eddie to notice.
“Please,” Chimney says, propping his chin in his hands like a teenage girl in a high school movie. “Do elaborate.”
“Not professionally or anything,” Eddie says. “But it was offered at my high school. Just gymkhana and stuff.”
“Oh, sure,” Hen says. “Just gymkhana. Okay.”
“Some people played football,” Eddie shrugs. “It’s not that different.”
“Not that different,” Ravi echoes. “Yeah, I can’t see any difference. Definitely not the horses or anything.”
“Other people ride horses,” Eddie tries to protest.
“But not in the rodeo,” Chimney says.
“That’s what I’m saying,” Eddie says. He shoots Buck a look that might be saying help me, but Buck’s too distracted by the thought of Eddie on horseback to react. “I was never in the rodeo. Gymkhana was like—I don’t know, rec league. The events I rode aren’t even in real rodeos.” He grins. “Or—barrel racing is, but professionally that’s women only.”
“None of this is helping you get out of this, Edmundo,” Hen says, and Eddie glares at her. “I’m sure they’ll find something for you to do.”
She looks to Bobby and they all follow, turning to see a grin spreading across his face.
“Yeah,” he says. “I’m sure they will.”
And so Buck finds himself in a locker room just off the field at some small-town rodeo arena just outside of Los Angeles, watching Eddie pace back and forth in well-worn Wranglers and a faded flannel shirt.
“Is this a bad idea?” Eddie mutters, then shakes his head. “Of course it’s a bad idea, god, I haven’t chased the cans in over a decade—”
Buck knows he should reassure Eddie, try to talk him off this ledge, but—
This is a version of Eddie he hasn’t even known to dream of.
A version of Eddie who looks like he could have stepped off the cover of a western, who keeps mumbling words that Buck understands separately but not in the combinations he deploys them in. A version of Eddie who is about to mount a horse and race it around the barrels in front of the entire LAFD and everyone who’s turned out to support them.
This is a version of Eddie that makes it hard for Buck to remember that thinking about Eddie is not something he does. Is not something he can do, not without spiralling into visions of a future he can never have.
Buck has long since learned how to quiet those thoughts, how to tuck them between his ribs and lock them away. He’s made his peace with the fact that Eddie is his friend. But it seems his immunity doesn’t extend to a version of Eddie who rides in rodeos.
“Buck?” Eddie asks, and when Buck looks up, there’s something vulnerable in his eyes. Eddie opens his mouth, his features crouched on the edge of a question—
And there’s a knock on the door. “You’re up next, cowboy,” Chimney calls, barely disguised glee in his voice.
“I—that’s me,” Eddie says. “I’d better—”
“Yeah,” Buck says.
Their eyes meet, and something passes between them. Something Buck can’t identify, like every time he tries to make its shape out, it shifts just out of reach.
“Will you watch?” Eddie asks.
Buck blinks. “Of course,” he says. Then: “Cowboy,” tacked on just a little too late to be natural.
Eddie grins, a little tight around the edges.
“You’ll be fine,” Buck says, softer now. “I’m sure riding a horse is just like—uh. Like riding a bike.”
That gets a laugh out of Eddie, though he shakes his head. “It’s really not,” he says. “But I’ve come down here to practice a few times. To get to know the horse. So she gets used to me.”
“See?” Buck says. “You’ll be fine.”
Then Chimney knocks again, and Eddie squares his shoulders and heads out of the room.
Buck makes his way to the edge of the field. He’s right by the starting line, perfectly positioned to see it when Eddie bursts out of the alley astride a beautiful chestnut horse, racing past the timer beam and towards the first barrel.
The race itself is fast—barely twenty seconds after Eddie started, he’s cantering back in the opposite direction and crossing the finishing line. The electronic scoreboard in the corner beeps, updating the times, but Buck doesn’t look up to see how Eddie placed. His eyes are glued to Eddie, to the slight gleam of sweat along his forehead and the way muscles ripple under his jeans as he slows the horse down. He notices Buck watching, and he—
Eddie winks, and Buck’s mouth goes dry.
He starts heading for the alley before his brain quite catches up with his feet, weaving his way along the edge of the field until he makes it to where Eddie is dismounting.
(Buck would like to say he doesn’t stare at Eddie’s ass while he does, but he isn’t quite that shameless a liar.)
Eddie pats the horse’s neck and murmurs something, then hands the reins to someone hovering by the side. He turns to face Buck, exhilaration written clear across his face. “Did you see?”
“Yeah,” Buck says, with a grin of his own. “Eddie, that was—”
Then he takes a breath. “I need you to know that this isn’t just about the horse,” he says, and grabs the front of Eddie’s shirt, pulling him in for a kiss.
Eddie stands frozen for only a fraction of a second before his hands find Buck’s waist, pulling him impossibly close. He makes a muffled noise against Buck’s mouth, and it takes a moment for Buck to realise it’s a laugh.
“Not just about the horse, huh?” Eddie murmurs when Buck pulls back with a questioning look.
Buck laughs. “Full disclosure, it’s a little bit about the horse,” he admits. “But it’s mostly about you.”
“Good,” Eddie says, smiling softly. “Because this is about you.” And he leans in for another kiss.

Okay, review of Ponniyin Selvan 2 incoming (whether you like it or not) (and again, this is my personal opinion about the movie so please don’t kill me if you don’t agree).
I don’t know what to say. I really don’t. *proceeds to write essay*
Is it a good movie? Yes, hell yes, 100%
But will I be religiously rewatching this like I did part one? Maybe not.
Part 2 is a different vibe than part one. Like a complete script flip. It's a different movie (I guess one can figure that out from how different the album of the second movie is to the first). The drama (more like angst, ngl) amongst the characters is intensified while the story just seems to be something running in the background. We learn a lot more about some of the characters-- we see a different side to them: let it be the vulnerable side of Nandini or a more humanized form of Adhitha. Some of the prominent questions from part 1 are answered in part 2 (point to note: we are given the backstory of adhita and nandini which I think is a fantastic addition) but yeah I still don’t really know how to clearly explain this movie. It’s like one of those pieces of art that you have to see to cherish, to understand why people are going crazy about it.
There are moments that just make you want to go “what the actual hell” but there are others where you’re just sitting there, with your mouth wide open and/or tears welling up in your eyes. And it does not help that oftentimes this movie becomes a pendulum between these feelings.
The acting and the actors are a saving grace. Everyone is PERFECTLY cast and the scenes are such that even if there is a small hiccup, it's going to look like a big joke. The chemistry the cast has with each other is insane. Off the charts. (and I'm coining this right now, Chiyan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, and Karthi are going to SWEEP all the awards). The scenes between the lovers, let it be kundavai and vanthiyadevan or nandini and adhitha is some of the best acting I have seen.
The music is also another savior in disguise. Let it be the first 10 minutes of the movie with the three songs back to back, or let it be using Veera Raja Veera on three separate occasions to highlight three different moments in the movie-- Rahman really killed it with this one (although I am a bit disappointed that NONE of the songs were used in their entirety— someone pull the editor out of the editing room asap).
The cinematography? *chefs kiss* Give Ravi Varman a National Award right now.
I think the most disappointing aspect for me is that Mani sir was never really given the chance to fully explore the characters, the themes, the subplots, or just the book in general. Don’t get me wrong, this is one of the most genuine book-to-movie adaptations I’ve seen and although Mani Ratnam was insistent that Ponniyin Selvan is something that truly deserves to be on the big screen, I think it would’ve worked absolute wonders if it were a series. I would totally not be opposed to a director's cut (trust me I will watch it even if it ends up being a seven-hour movie) if it gives us an opportunity to see Mani sir's strengths and the usual magic in his other films shine through more because the restriction of time is taken out.

okay, my take-away from this episode is: “You guys are so weird!”
I do not understand the writers’ insistence on Buck, supposedly almost leaving.
I would have understood, if it was about leaving to find Maddie, or making the wrong call about the CO2, but guilt about Chimney?
Not getting that. Chimney went to get his wife back, that’s it, he was mad at Buck but really keeping a grudge after lying to Buck’s face about the family secret for weeks, is really hypocritical and I refuse to believe that the Chimney we normally know, would do that. - I will say this though, I did not like Chimney in S1, his personality rubbed me the wrong way, Maddie made him, relatable, likable, to me anyway.
I figured with Maddie gone for a while, we would get to see Chimney being relatable and lovable as he learns to be a father, and him and Buck growing closer as they take care of Jee in Maddie’s absence.
This particular storyline, does not work for me. Also Buck almost-leaving didn’t make sense either. He would be leaving Ravi with no backup, Eddie and hen won’t be having sufficient cover as they pull patients from burning building, as we saw today, when Buck and Ravi came back in the nick of time to put out the flames surrounding Cap and Eddie and the patient. - Not to mention he would be leaving the 118, not one but two men down.
That may have been who Buck was up until S3, but now? I don’t buy that. Sorry. Not impressed with this scene.
I did love Eddie’s “You’re stuck with us.”
Which btw, there would have been no world where Buck announced he’s leaving the 118 without talking to Eddie first. - Eddie would have knocked some sense to him long before, whatever it was at the dining table - just saying.
Also at no time did cap come and told Buck to stop being a drill sergeant - not buying that either.
Hen and Eddie learning to work together, is priceless! The entire time I’m torn between my love for Hen and feeling sorry for Eddie lol They will rock together until Chimney comes back and I can’t wait to see more.
But even though we didn’t get to see many buddie scenes together, officially that is, we can see them still orbiting each other the entire episode, even though they’re partnered with other people, they still work together seamlessly, whenever needed or possible and that is a treat to watch.
Last bit, not about buddie, even now that I know (even though I did before) about Claudette's motives, I still don’t like her. - Sorry.
Love May, she’s been rocking the first few S5 episodes so hard!! I’ve never loved her more!!
And Athena needs to stop calling that creep by his first name, he doesn’t deserve that and I agree with Michael she needs therapy - a lot of it.
And Harry, it feels to me, has reached the stage where he questions his mother’s motives and actions, a little like May did (a bit more low key) in S3. I believe he will come around eventually. - But Athena hitting him, imo, broke something of the trust the two of them had, he will hold her at arms length for a while.
I’m not going to talk much about Taylor, I do however think that she’s making an effort, and they’re together quite a bit in this episode, so kudos for that? I guess.
and from that last scene, you can see in her eyes, that she loves Buck, in what capacity, remains to be seen.
But her “Not everything is about you” (as right as she may have been) felt like a call back to S3 where Buck was constantly told that by the people he trusts the most and that completely wrecked his self esteem (which wasn’t high in the first place).
Also that hug, when he comes back to the apartment and Taylor hugs him, he looks like he’s a thousand miles away, a bit like Eddie did after he talked to Carla. - buddie crumbs?
Anyway, I can’t believe we have to wait another two weeks for a new episode!!!
It’s too far!! - somebody hold me...  😭
Happy Tuesday everyone - I’m off to the pool    😁❤
Bonus:
“You guys are pretty jacked, what kind of work-out do you do?” 😂😍

Unbalanced
Or Buck is moody because he misses working with Eddie
read on ao3
“You’re being an asshole, Buck,” Eddie’s voice startles him. They’ve just finished at the scene and Buck had been so lost in thought putting the tools back in the compartment that he hadn’t heard Eddie approaching. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Eddie leans against the side of the firetruck, his arms crossed in front of him, and raises his eyebrow at Buck, “The kid is learning, don’t be so harsh on him.”
Ugh, of course.
To be honest, Buck was expecting Eddie to say something. He had felt Eddie’s eyes on him earlier when he had scolded Ravi on the scene. But, come on, probie had been two seconds from puking in front of the patient.
Buck closes the compartment door a bit too hard, and turns to Eddie, “He has to learn.”
“I know, but you can teach him without being an asshole,” Eddie says, a soft smile playing on his lips, amused by Buck’s attitude.
“I’m not being an asshole,” Buck rolls his eyes.
Maybe he’s being a bit too strict… But he’s not having the best week, okay? For obvious reasons. And he just wants to do his job without complications, put his whole focus on helping people, but he can’t because he has to keep an eye on Ravi, just like Bobby asked him to.
“I’m just saying,” Eddie insists, “he might learn better if you don’t snap at him.”
Yeah, he probably should chill a bit. He groans defeated, and Eddie’s small smile becomes a full-on grin, like he knows he has won, the smug bastard.
Buck leans against the firetruck too, mirroring Eddie’s position. “So, tell me, what’s this? Are you talking from experience or something?” he teases. “Did you feel like that when you started?”
Eddie snorts. “Oh, trust me, this is nothing like that,” he says, a daring glint crossing his eyes, “First of, you were intimidated by my presence.”
“Intimidated?” Buck scoffs, “That’s cute.”
He wasn’t intimidated, he was… Okay, let’s leave it at intimidated.
Eddie shakes his head, “It’s time for you to accept it, Buckley.”
“Shut up,” Buck answers, which only makes Eddie’s smile bigger, his canines are visible now. It’s so infectious Buck can’t hold back his own lips from tilting up.
The autumn sun reflects on Eddie’s hair, which is all soft and messy from the helmet, and Buck’s breath catches in his throat. Because Eddie goes so well with the season, the colour of his hair and his eyes matching the leaves that have fallen from the trees, and the warmth he provides is just like putting on the first sweater when the October cold starts. It’s cheesy, but his brain doesn’t seem to care when the softness in Eddie’s eyes is directed to him, when that bright smile is made for and by Buck.
Smile that turns a touch softer when Eddie continues, “And second, we became a team before my first shift finished.”
Buck ducks his head, escaping Eddie’s gaze before he falls for good.
“Be patient,” Eddie adds, “he’ll find his footing.”
And Eddie is right, but Ravi is not the problem, he might still be wet behind the ears, but he’s fine. The thing is, Buck is not used to working with someone else. Because Eddie becomes an extension of himself, just like he becomes an extension of Eddie. They don’t have to talk to understand each other, just one look, one touch, and they know what to do. Sometimes, they don’t even need a tangible cue, their instincts working on the same wavelength.
Now that Eddie is not by his side, Buck feels unbalanced, like part of him is not there. Every time he turns around, expecting to find Eddie there only to see Ravi five feet away from the mark, he feels like he has missed a step, having to catch himself before falling face-first to the ground.
He looks up, finding Eddie’s eyes again. I miss working with you, his mind whispers. It doesn’t get past his lips, and yet, Eddie hears it, of course he does.
“This is temporary,” Eddie says with a rueful smile, his voice soft but firm, “I’m still your partner.”
Buck nods, his lips twitching up slightly.
Before he can answer, Hen calls Eddie from the back of the ambulance. He goes, patting Buck’s shoulder when he walks past him, letting his hand linger until the distance between them wins.
Buck sighs to himself, “And I’m yours.”

For buddie: 23 & 56
Performer AU + Awful First Meeting. Yes, I did stretch the definition of "performer" and what about it?
Eddie "Diablo" Diaz is Major League Baseball's most infamous hothead. He's arrogant, he's obnoxious, and worst of all, after making baseball history by pitching three no hitters in a row, and leading the Texas Rangers to two consecutive world series titles, he might just be justified in thinking so highly of himself.
Of course, the people who know Eddie best, his family and his teammates, know better. The Eddie they know is a loving single father who is so insistent on not leaving his son alone that he hired a private tutor, Carla, to homeschool him, just so he can take Christopher with him when he has to travel for work without disrupting his education. The Eddie they know is funny and kind and would do anything to keep playing baseball.
Including pretending to be an asshole on national TV so the franchise can sell merchandise with "Diablo Diaz" and little devil horns on it--all the big players have personas, Eddie. If the Giants can sell stuffed pandas in little jerseys, we can sell the devil--and who is Eddie to say no when his contract is on the line? So, when the fans and camera are watching, Eddie becomes an entirely different person.
He'd hoped that getting traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers would be a fresh start for his public image, but unfortunately the team manager Athena has other ideas. She sought him out to intentionally stir up controversy (well, and because he's a great pitcher), and she's not about to pass up the opportunity to make money off the Diablo Diaz persona.
Luckily, his teammates all seem to understand that "Diablo" isn't really him. He makes fast friends with the Han brothers, Chimney and Albert (catcher and shortstop, respectively), and the team doctor Hen Wilson (if Eddie hadn't been drafted to the major league, sports medicine had been his backup), during Spring Training, and he feels more supported by Bobby Nash than he ever has by any of his previous coaches.
Opening Day at Dodger Stadium comes on a crisp April afternoon, and while Eddie is nervous to throw the first pitch, by the second inning he’s feeling a lot better. By the time Bobby pulls him out and puts in the relief pitcher, Ravi, he’s feeling pretty good. As he’s walking off the field between innings, though, his attention is caught by the mascot, a brown dog in a blue Dodgers uniform, who is waving him over. Eddie scoffs and shakes his head in an exaggerated fashion: Diablo Diaz doesn’t play with mascots. The mascot keeps trying, though, and so Eddie does something a little stupid and puts one leg out to purposefully trip the mascot. It’s a tried and true older brother move, one that Adrianna and Sophia hate.
And it works. The mascot topples over into the dirt, and Eddie heads to the dugout. Chimney gives him an incredulous look and he just shrugs. He knows it was a little extreme, but he has a role to play here.
A few weeks later, Chimney invites him out for drinks with Albert, Hen, Hen’s wife Karen, Chimney’s girlfriend, Maddie, and Maddie’s brother, Buck. Eddie accepts easily. Eddie has a great time. Well, almost. See, Karen and Maddie are great, but Buck? Buck won’t give Eddie the time of day. According to everyone else, he’s a human golden retriever, sunshine personified. But for some reason he just hates Eddie’s guts.
It’s a damn shame, since the man is drop dead gorgeous.
After a few similar outings and gatherings, Eddie finally snaps. “What’s your problem, man?” “Okay, you. You’re my problem.” “Why?! What did I ever do to you?” “Seriously? Maybe if I lie down face first on the clay, you’ll recognize me then!” Buck stalks off, and oh. Oh. Oh, fuck.
Buck’s the mascot. Eddie flashes back to the look Chimney had given him on Opening Day and suddenly it all falls into place. Immediately he goes to find Chimney. “Why didn’t you tell me Buck was the mascot?!” “I thought you knew...” “No! You said he was an actor!” “Well, he is.”
So, now Eddie knows why Buck hates him, but he’s not really sure what he can do about it besides try to show Buck that he’s not actually an asshole. But it’s hard to do that when so many of their interactions involve Buck in a ridiculous mascot costume and Eddie contractually obligated to be a dick. Eventually it comes to a head on the 4th of July.
Eddie is ducking out of the team party early, and Buck just can’t help but make a snide remark. “Too good to hang out with the rest of us?” he sneers. Eddie grits his teeth. “Actually, I have to go home to my son.” Buck looks shocked. “You’ve got a kid?”
“Christopher, he’s my world.” He shows Buck a picture on his phone.
“He’s super adorable, I love kids.” Buck’s entire demeanor has softened now, to the point where Eddie thinks he might be receptive to an apology, so he sighs and puts his phone away..
“Look, I’m sorry about how I act during games, and about tripping you. But you have to know that it’s all a performance. A marketing scheme. It’s not really who I am.”
“Oh.” Buck shakes his head. “I feel really dumb now.”
“Don’t worry about,” Eddie smiles. “Let’s just start over. Friends?”
Buck shakes his hand and returns his smile. “Friends.”
Of course, the “friends” thing can only last so long because Buck is, as previously mentioned, gorgeous. But he’s also thoughtful and sweet and endearingly dorky now that he doesn’t think Eddie is a total dickhead, not to mention Christopher adores him. So, yeah, Eddie’s a goner. Lucky for him, it kinda seems like Buck might be just as gone.
They’re together by post-season. Somehow, Albert won the bet.

TEAM ZRCN ARC 4 - CHAPTER 2
Well, that definitely wasn’t planned...
XANTHOS
Xanthos grumbled for the third time in the space of ten minutes. “I should be out there helping - I feel useless being forced to stay in here.”
Wren smiled weakly at his left - he wouldn’t have been surprised if she was sick of his complaining by now. “If it makes you feel any better, think of yourself as mine and Cala’s protector in case anything goes wrong, rather than being cooped up in here due to not being hundred percent yet.”
Xanthos didn’t want to repeat that he felt fine, so smiled back. After his run-in with Belleza and Miho three days prior, Zelde had been the one to insist he stay with Calantha and Wren instead of patrolling for Belleza like the rest. Though he had protested, Zelde understandably wanted to be cautious after being caught out by the eldest Rossi again, and claimed he was not yet fighting fit.
“Thanks, Wren. But I’ve seen what you did to that Karkadan, I’m pretty sure you can handle yourself with or without me.”
“Don’t be so harsh on yourself, Ravi,” Wren assured him. “I’ve seen a marked improvement in you and the rest of your team since you joined us; those lessons are really paying off. I’m sure James will be glad to see how much you’ve all improved in person when you return to Atlas Academy.”
Xanthos smiled back appreciatively. Whilst he knew Wren was partly saying that to reassure him and make him feel better, Xanthos knew they were getting better. He had seen it in the way he and the rest of his teammates were fighting, how they all used their weapons and semblances more effectively, and how they all communicated better in and out of battle.
Wren turned away from him, responding to a report from Cherry through her earpiece. Though he nor any of his teammates - nor Helia - had been given an ear piece they had all been split off into small teams to ensure there was still something of a clear line of communication. Parson was with Zelde and Cordovan, Cherry with Helia, Elio was by himself, and Morgan was paired with Neela.
To avoid eavesdropping, Xanthos stepped towards Calantha who was seated in an old plastic chair. Though her expression appeared neutral, her juddering leg betrayed her.
"You good?" He asked, resting a hand upon her shoulder in an action that made her flinch ever so slightly.
"Yes, I'm fine." She answered, turning her head to him and giving him a wide smile. "Why do you ask?"
"Your leg’s bouncing." He said simply, glancing down at her still bouncing leg. Calantha followed his gaze, and caught herself.
"I didn't even realise," She said, looking almost apologetic as she spoke. "Maybe I am a little nervous."
"I'd be concerned if you weren't." Xanthos chuckled. "My sister does the exact same thing, you know."
"I didn't know you had a sister. Is she older or younger than you?"
"Younger," Xanthos replied. "...Though she likes to think she's older sometimes."
"I bet you haven't spoken to her for a while due to the CCT going down," Calantha mused. "You must miss her."
"Sure do," Xanthos confirmed with a nod of the head. "But Marisol is a strong kid, and even though I can't speak to her, I know she'll be safe with our mom."
Calantha smiled at him softly, and a part of him felt sympathy for her, realising she was probably missing a sister - at least one of them.
"You must miss yours too."
Calantha seemed a little surprised by the comment - perhaps not expecting him to bring her sisters up - but after a moment she nodded. "I miss Bianca," She confirmed, "I know Belleza only really said it to try and goad me when she said that Bianca was missing me... but I don't think she was too far off the mark."
"Are you close with her?" Xanthos asked politely. "She doesn't treat you like Belleza does she?"
"Oh no, Bianca is nothing like Belleza," Calantha responded, and despite an awkward laugh that followed her words, she seemed a little hurt at Xanthos implying Bianca was anything like their elder sister. "I won't deny they have similar goals, but Bianca would never stoop as low as Belleza to achieve them. She was the only one I was ever really close to at Olympia, always looking out for me and ensuring I was happy, or at least as happy as I could be given what our home was like. After our mother died and our father retreated more and more into himself, she was really the only family I had left in a sense. Belleza always saw me as an inconvenience, a weak link, rather than a sister. But Bianca...she was and still is my closest friend."
"At least one of your sisters has a shred of decency." Xanthos mumbled quietly. As an older sibling himself, he felt a sense of anger at the treatment she had endured at the hands of Belleza.
"It's kind of pathetic isn't it?" Calantha suddenly said, forcing a tired laugh.
"What is?"
"I'm eighteen years old and my two closest friends are my sister and Rosie - a child."
Xanthos looked at her with a sorrowful expression, and gave her another squeeze on the shoulder in a way of reassurance. This time Calantha didn't flinch away.
"You have us now too," He said, giving her a warm smile. “Don’t forget it.” She returned the gesture with an appreciative nod, and reached up to give his hand a gentle squeeze in return.
A sudden urgency in Wren’s voice drew Xanthos’s attention back to her. He shared a glance with Calantha, before moving back over to the veteran huntress.
“Keep me updated as soon as you know.”
Xanthos looked at her questioningly, silently gesturing for her to tell him what was going on.
“Elio thinks he saw someone matching Belleza’s description,” She explained in a hushed tone. Her gaze drifted beyond Xanthos and over to Calantha whose fidgeting had since resumed. “Is she alright?” Wren asked, her voice tinged with concern.
“Just a little nervous,” Xanthos responded. “Can’t say I blame her really.”
“No... neither can I.” Wren nodded in agreement, a small sigh parting her lips.
Xanthos was suddenly aware of a muffled voice through the Huntress’s earpiece, and she jumped back to attention. She spoke briefly with Elio, before thanking him for keeping her in the loop. “False alarm - it wasn’t her.” Wren informed him.
They both breathed a sigh of relief at this, but it was short-lived as not moments later a call came through Calantha’s scroll. She jolted at the noise, and fumbled to get her scroll out of her pocket.
She stared at the screen for a few seconds, frozen.
“It’s Belle.”
“Answer it.” Wren encouraged softly.
Calantha nodded hesitantly, before answering. “Hello, Belle. I’m- What? Yes, she’s here with me right now.” Calantha looked up at Wren warily. “She wants to be put on speaker. Should I do it?”
Wren considered this for a moment. “Do it.”
As Calantha put the call on speaker, Wren quickly spoke into her earpiece to let the others know she was about to speak with Belleza.
“You’re on speaker, Miss Rossi,” Wren said. “Where are you? We’ve been waiting.”
“Miss Rossi? My, isn't that formal!” Belleza laughed. “Is it just you and my sister I’m talking with?”
“I’m here,” Xanthos said abruptly, the words falling out of his mouth before he had a chance to even confer with Wren about whether he was allowed to talk.
“And who exactly is that supposed to be?”
“Xanthos Ravindra,” He said coldly. “You know, the boy whose arm you nearly dislocated before shoving into a broom closet.”
“You got off lightly, ‘Xanthos Ravindra’,” Belleza mocked. “Consider yourself lucky - had Miho and I not been interrupted you might have been sitting with the rest of my prisoners right about now.”
“Where are you, Belle?” Calantha inquired. “I’ve been waiting to do our trade off.”
“You’ll be waiting for a long time I fear.” Belleza said. “They’ve already been moved.”
Wren tensed a little beside him. “Let’s not play games here, Miss Rossi,” She warned. “We arranged a trade, let’s get it over and done with.”
“I’m afraid I can’t do that.”
“Belle, please,” Calantha attempted to appeal to her sister. “Don’t make this any more difficult than it needs to be.”
“Oh, ho, ho, you’re one to talk, little lamb,” Belleza responded, her voice full of malice. “I know what you and your friends have been planning. I know that even stepping foot within the grounds of Astrolabe would be like signing off on my own prison sentence.”
“H-How?” Wren stammered. “How do you know this?” She added in a more demanding voice.
“Well, you just confirmed it for me, dimwit.” Belleza stated, using that falsely sweet tone of voice that set Xanthos on edge, her grin almost audible. It reminded him of his encounter with the eldest Rossi sibling three days prior.
“You might have taken Wisteria, but I’m guessing you haven’t asked her for any information?” Belleza continued. “Maybe if you had, you might have known about the little present a certain Ulysses Crest left us.”
Calantha suddenly seemed to understand the point her sister was making. Her free hand went to cover her mouth, as a look of realisation began to dawn on her face.
Her voice trembled. “No…”
Wren and Xanthos shared a nervous glance.
“I’d advise you to hand yourself in now, Miss Rossi,” Wren advised. “Things will be easier for you if you do so.”
“I already told you I can’t.”
“Damnit!” Wren snapped, her frustrations beginning to bubble over. “Stop playing games, Belleza! Where are you?!”
“I am going home,” Belleza said simply. “For now at least. If you wish to continue our little game you are welcome to come to Olympia and fight me on home turf. If not...well, I suspect we’ll see each other soon when the reckoning comes for you Atlesian nitwits.”
Wren’s eyes widened and Xanthos was more keenly aware of her shaking. “Rosie…” She said the name so softly, that had it not been for the fact he was standing so close, he might have heard her. Wren took a moment before speaking again. “Callaway. Mira. Rosie. You promised. If you don’t have the decency to show yourself, at least tell me that they’re safe!”
But rather than a civil response, all Wren got in response was bone-chilling laughter.
“You all wanted me to jump but you should have been the ones asking how high.”  Belleza sounded gleeful as she said that. “Enjoy the little gift I left for you.”
A small click signalled Belleza had disconnected from the call. The three of them did not have time to process what had just been said to them, before the thunderous roar of an explosion sounded nearby, and Astrolabe University went up in flames.

Oc Idea (Note: This is gonna have a lot of missing info and plot holes cuz i just wrote this for fun and didn’t give too much thought into it) (It’s also gonna be a little messy)
Name: Ava
Age: 15,000
Appearance: White hair and baby blue eyes. (She also has albinism)
-Ava is the princess of a highly respected and prosperous kingdom. The royal family of said kingdoms are the descendants of long forgotten gods and have ruled over the country for millennia.
-The royal family also aged slower than the average human and also held some traits later developed in life due to their lineage such as immunity to poison, the ability to float, etc. Traits differ from each person in the royal family.
-Ava has an identical twin brother named Aaron. Unlike Aaron who was born healthy Ava was born with a weak constitution. Due to this the young princess was abandoned at a long forgotten and old palace with few maids to take care of her.
-However due to her weak condition no one wanted to take care of her except for a young lady by the name of marianne. Marianne was a woman with blonde hair and pink eyes. Marianne had taken care of the princess as a way to cope with the loss of her younger sister. Giving the princess the love that she could not give to her sister.
- 20 Years passed and the princess was now 2 years old. Ava was a bright and cheerful child that longed for the love of her parents. She could never understand why she was abandoned. Had she done something wrong to displease them? She always thought
-Truthfully, It was due to her older twin brother, Aaron. Aaron was known as a genius due to the fact that he could pick up and learn subjects faster than his peers and was always praised for it. Whilst Ava who only had Marianne to teach her what limited knowledge she had could never compare to him.
-One day, on her 4th birthday. She decided to pick some berries in the nearby forest so that she could bake a cake with Marianne when she happened to stumble across a man with white hair and golden eyes.
-The man introduced himself as Runi. Curious, Runi asked the princess what she was doing here and they talked until late into the day. After that fateful encounter the princess would often sneak into the forest to talk to Runi.
- Years passed and Marianne had met her end. Runi took pity on the princess as she had no one else to turn to and offered to stay by her side and teach. The princess not wanting to be alone agreed and became his pupil.
-During her studies under her new master/teacher. She met Runi’s other pupils, a man with black hair and emerald green eyes by the name of Treyton and another man with baby blue hair and orange eyes by the name of Ethan.
-One day, guards swarmed the palace and took the princess to take her onto the battlefield. This was due to the fact that their kingdom was now at war and each noble including the royal family must send a representative from their family to go into battle for their family’s honour. The king and queen not wanting to risk their son’s life chose to send the princess to war instead.
-They justified it as “mercy” for the young princess as she was born with a young constitution and was bound to die soon.
-Thankfully,her master had taught her some skills to defend herself. She managed to survive by using her wits and small stature.
-She however, while patrolling the area managed to stumble across a boy that looked to be of the same age as her. Not noticing that the boy was from the enemy kingdom she called out to the boy and asked if he needed assistance.
-The boy was not interested in idle conversation and immediately lunged for the princess and after what felt like hours of fighting. The princess, out of sheer dumb luck managed to pin the boy to the ground.
-The princess not wanting to harm the boy as he seemed to be in the same situation as her offered her assistance. To which the boy laughed in her face “You're as young as I am not to mention you’re far less experienced than I am. How could you possibly help me?”
-She grew silent and drew her blade. The boy shut his eyes thinking that the princess was going to strike him but then he heard a clinking sound. It was the sound of his collar falling to the ground.
-”How did you…” “My master taught me that!” She exclaimed proudly. The boy after much contemplation decided that he would let the princess help him as she seemed to be much more skillful than she lets on.
-The boy introduced himself as Ray. He explained that he was taken as a slave/soldier by the enemy king after his parents died due to his powers. He was trained as a killing machine and was not allowed to rest until his training had been completed.
- Together, the princess disguised Ray as a knight of her kingdom and they both managed to slip away unnoticed due to the chaotic battlefield. The enemy king yelled at Ray for treason and threatened to murder Ray if he did not kill the princess.
-Ray became quiet and drew his bow at the princess only to shoot the king at the last second and push him off a cliff where he met his demise.
-After the war, Ray was welcomed into the kingdom and was brought in as an honorary knight for his bravery. He was also offered a position as the prince’s personal guard but declined insisting that he would rather stay with the princess who set him free.
-Thus,Ray became a pupil of Runi. Together, the four pupils and their master were inseparable and did everything together. However, the war had taken a lot out of the princess. She collapsed one day and got sick due to it.
-The fact that none of the maids took care of her only made her condition worse and Ray who was only taught to fight had no clue how to help the princess. Her fellow pupils had their own lives and were not able to take care of her 24/7. There was a high chance that the princess would pass away soon.
(At this point I no longer have anymore brain cells so pls bare with me)
-Runi who had gotten too close to her, refused to let her die and so he saved her using his godly magic. Truth be told Ravi is an ancient god that is related to the Royal family however he can’t tell Ava the truth or he will be forbidden from talking to her again.
-After this incident, the princess got better however she and Ray were once again thrown into war . However, unlike the previous war this one had lasted for 10 years. During the 10 years the third prince was born and Aaron was crowned as crown prince.
-However, after the war Ava and Ray had both received official titles and were given better treatment from the maids and butlers. Ava had won multiple battles for the kingdom and was given the position of “General”. At the young age of 10.
-While the princess’ reputation grew so did the bond between her and her twin and younger brother. Despite the fact they grew up differently they had a lot in common. The same could not be said about her relationship between the princess and her parents. She grew to despise them more and more as she grew older and always argued with her parents about everything.
-One fateful day, her parents died due to a car crash. However, the prince was 17 and not of age yet to take the king’s place. There were several arguments about this until a person proposed that they let both the twins rule under the supervision of the royal council and by some miracle everyone agreed. (Don’t ask me how or why idk either lmao)
-And thus began her rule as a queen (ig i don’t know. I’m really tired lmao)
-I’m too lazy to type properly so meh-
-So like- during her rule she one day finds a dragon kid in a burned down village cuz she took pity on him. The dragon’s name is Ravi. Shenanigans happens and she eventually adopts the dragon kid. However, there were multiple protests from everyone. She was like nah f ya’ll i’m keeping him >:D.
-She then got kidnapped at some point in her life and almost got married to some crazy prince but Ray killed him so we good now.
-Then, a child was abandoned by the castle. So she took it in and raised it as her own. She named her “Celeste”
-Then, she found a third kid who’s a mermaid named Ceru who was injured by the shore and at first she wasn’t gonna adopt him but then his mom died and she had to take him home lol.
(That’s pretty much all i got for now)

Day 4 - Sexuality
My life on Devaron, although free, was isolated. My only companions were my mothers and the animals. Momma wouldn’t let me go to the nearest town with her when we were low on inventory and Mother would school me in language, arts, sciences, and history, but forbade me from interacting with the galaxy. The very galaxy she taught me.
 *
It wasn’t until Móni was forced to leave did she have her first taste with society. And it was big. Too big. Too many beings in one location. The noises weren’t rhythmic, but destructive. And the smells were a mix of all sorts of things: food, sweat, mold, and sometimes burnt skin. She was pulled every which way, not knowing where to go, and although fluent in Galactic Basic, the signs and directories made no sense to her in the stress and clamor.
Then she came. Popping out amongst the crowd. Tall and lean with clean lavender skin and eyes that matched the green leaves of a eucomi lily.
Lasat, she named her species immediately.
When she towered over Móni, her body slightly hunched on her digitigrade legs, her scent was an immediate reminder of playing out in the sun for hours, and it made her homesick. Not in the way she had thought it would, with pain, it was more of a relief to have found something that held even the slightest hint of home.
“Do you need help?” Her voice was sweet, and it matched her downcast expression.
“Uh, yeah. Guess I do. First time here.”
“I know.”
“You know?”
“You… stand out.”
Móni took a moment to scan her appearance: a top woven from soft twine and wool, and a skirt made from a panthirae’s hide. When she compared herself to the myriad of beings around, it finally dawned on her that she truly was no longer home anymore. Parsecs and parsecs away, most likely never to return.
The lasat must have noticed the realization weighing down on her and was quick to pop in.
“You have a place to stay?”
“No,” Móni shook her head. “Got a few credits on me for food, but that’s gonna run out by the end of a standard week.”
“I know a place that could take you in. A decent place filled with beings our age who are also lost and alone,” the lasat’s ears drooped with concern and her emotions prickled the skin.
Something was amiss. It remained hidden in the crowd watching the two of them like a predator on the hunt. It was then the thick collar around her neck and constant twitch in her ears were sure enough signs that things weren’t as they appeared to be.
“You’re not exactly here to help me, are you?”
The lasat held her large hands together, the claws scratching at her skin, and bowed her head, “Don’t make deals with people who offer things that are too good to be true and don’t ever stop running. Coruscant is not an easy place to live in. Especially the lower levels we’re in now.” Her eyes darted to the side at something hidden away.
The predator, Móni had already known.
“What would happen to you if I don’t come along?”
The thick paddings of the lasat’s fingers pressed against the collar, adjusting it slightly for Móni to catch singed markings underneath.
“Don’t worry about me,” she sighed. “It’s nothing I’m not used to. I’m giving you an opportunity to run. Possibly find a place not quite as bad as—”
She flinched at the unknown being lurking in the shadows and tried as Móni could, she wasn’t adept enough to feel her way through the Force and pinpoint the source of the lasat’s fears.
“I’ll go with you.”
“What? No! You don’t understand. It’s—it’s enslavement.”
“Is there a bed and shelter?”
“Yes.”
“Food?”
“Sometimes. We take some percentage of the… work we do. We don’t do well, we don’t eat.”
“It’s probably the best option I have going for me right now, plus it beats sleeping in an alley again,” Móni pulled at her clothes. “I don’t understand this place. The people. And you’re the first person I’ve met who’s been sincere with me since I arrived. Don’t think this is an opportunity I should let slip by.”
The lasat did not move and stared at the smaller human who had an eye color very unlike its kind, but drew her in. There was a luminosity that sparkled with a confidence she wished she had in herself and reflected the sunset she had only seen in holoads or holorecordings.
“If you’re sure. I promise you it’s not going to be the life you expect.”
“I’ve been on that road for a while already,” Móni released a chuckle infused with a memory that pained her. “I’m Durmónia by the way. Móni is fine, though.”
“Ravi,” she spoke meekly, shifting her attention between Móni and the figure who was insistently watching them.
A long and steady smirk stretched across her features and Ravi swallowed thickly at the expression, her blood pumping fast at the human’s feral quality. And her attention was directly on the one being Ravi hoped didn’t have to make introductions with.
“Found your boss, I think. Let’s meet him,” Móni grinned.
In that instant, a part of them knew their lives had changed. Móni was the change Ravi sought for her whole life and that laugh—she could have listened to it for hours. Bright and contagious, it lit the squared space they shared with the other females who also gravitated to the teenager who fought back against the owner for them. She dreamt so many times of running away with her, to the endless reaches of the galaxy, just the two of them. In her heart, though, she knew Móni was meant for so much more and the time would come she would have to accept letting her go one day. But for now, the wild bed of curls was hers to rest her face on and the smaller body for her to embrace entirely in her wider frame.
 *
We loved each other until the very end.

Camp Nano Day 26
words written: 1,829
total words: 42,478
another good day! my stomach was feeling gross today and i still kicked it out of the park. i'm proud of myself.
excerpt:
“I don’t know how you do it Ravi, being so positive in times like this. The world is falling apart around us and yet you can keep your head on straight.” Ven smiled at him, but his smile wasn’t returned. Ravi gave him the strangest, confused look. Beneath the table, Ven heard his tail smacking against the wood. “You always know what to say or what to do. It’s commendable.”
Ravi puffed a breath out of his mouth in surprise. It was a laugh, quickly dissolving into giggles. “Is that really how I come across?”
Ven couldn’t be more confused, his brain stalling as he tried to answer his question with his own. “What-”
“Ven, I don’t know a thing!” Ravi insisted. More banging from the tail underneath the table. Ravi’s eyes narrowed but didn’t close, a strange motion that Ven didn’t quite understand. “I’m just as afraid as you! Well, I’m not so sure about just as afraid, but I do have my fears.”

Ravi crawled into the spare bed, frustrated at himself for wanting you, even after what you had been through. He couldn’t fall for you, that would tear down everything he had built up around his life. His fear of getting close to someone, his hatred for his past making him this way, kept him up most of the night. He had to resolve that he didn’t have feelings for you. But deep down, he knew it was balancing on the edge of his own personal prison walls.
The next week was spent with him trying to be cordial with you while he kept a safe distance from you. It was akin to walking through a field of landmines, not knowing what the next step would bring. Both of you treading the fine line of needing to be together and having to stay apart.
“I’m going stir crazy staying here.” you whined one morning at breakfast.
“Do you want to go out for a bit?” he watched you curiously.
“Can I? Would you mind?”
“Y/N, right now, our deal is null and void. Your here so you can recover, nothing more. Until you are ready to approach that subject again.”
“Oh, I wasn’t sure.”
“When you left, that canceled everything out. You told me you wanted out.”
“But you let me stay here anyway? Why?”
“I told you, to let you recover. When you feel well enough, you can decide what you want to do. Until then, you are free to do what you want. Within safe limits. Meaning, I only want to know where you are so I can keep you safe.”
“Thank you. For doing this and being patient with me. I don’t want to be a bother. I have already caused you so much grief and problems.”
Ravi shook his head harshly. You were difficult, only because you tested his need for control. You were a feisty and independent woman, but you had shown him that you were at least willing to try and make your arrangement with him work. Sighing heavily, he sat back in his chair, waiting for you to finish what you were eating.
“Yes you have been difficult, and have caused me a lot of grief. Saying all that, I need to clarify some things.”
Your jaw dropped slightly. You had been waiting for this, his speech about having more self control and being pliable. Blinking nervously, you looked up at him.
“Y/N, you drive me crazy, in a good way. You push me, testing me, to see how far I am willing to go along with you. In the times I have had other submissives, I was never challenged. You have given me something to look forward to. Not knowing what is coming next, has been a bit entertaining, to say the least. If you want to stay, once you are better, then I am willing to negotiate a bit on the contract. Like I said, if you want to stay.”
You sprang up from your seat, walking quickly to his seat. Throwing your arms around his neck, you almost threw him backwards in his chair.
“Thank you, Ravi. Thank you for be so understanding.”
He pulled you back, a smile on his face for a brief second before it was gone again. He held you at a distance, becoming serious.
“Y/N, I need to make something very clear. You cannot develop feelings for me. It will only break your heart. I am not built for that, I don’t do well when it comes to feelings.”
You frowned, turning your head before he saw you. You felt your heart sink just a bit, knowing that you were already feeling something towards him. You rose back up, returning to your seat, and sat down quietly.
“It’s already happened, hasn’t it?” he asked you with sincerity in his voice.
“No-no. I knew going in I shouldn’t develop any feelings for you. You made that kind of clear early on.”
You were lying through your teeth, but you had hoped he didn’t know that.
“Don’t lie to me Y/N.”
Damn, so much for that.
“I’m not, Ravi. Seriously, I’m fine. Just a bit tired. I’m going to back to bed for a bit, then maybe I will go out later.”
You sat still for a moment, then got up and left him sitting by himself. You went to your own room, avoiding his for several reasons, and flung yourself on your bed, crying into the pillows. Why did you let this happen? You just got over a relationship. You should have known better. Things with Ravi were moving fast, and to add to all of that… Everything that has happened with you and with him.
So much was going through your brain that you didn’t hear the knock at the door. Your audible self questioning drowned out the sound of the door opening and closing. You didn’t hear him walking up beside your bed.
Ravi stood by your bed. He debated coming up, not sure of what to say to you. When he made his way to his room and you weren’t there, he knew instantly that you really were upset over what he had warned you about. He could see that you were feeling something more than a physical attraction for him, and that’s partly why he was willing to let you out of the agreement. He wanted to spare you the heartache, spare himself the risk of falling for you. He wanted to explain, in some way, why he didn’t do relationships. But without going into the hell of his past, he couldn’t find a way to do it.
He heard you through the closed door, his head lowering a little at the sounds of you crying and self questioning your feelings. He cracked the door, peeked in and saw you, hugging your pillows with your head buried deep. Thinking that it really wasn’t funny, he still had to grin just a little. You looked like a teen-aged girl crying over her first break-up.  He walked in, closing the door softly behind him and came up beside the bed. Tapping the back of your leg, he prepared for the scene he was about to see.
You swung your head up, puffy red eyes looking at him. You were caught, no way lying your way out of this one.
“Ravi!”  you yelped.
“I knew you were lying.” he stated simply.
"Whatever! I will be fine, I’m a big girl, I can get myself past this. It’s just an infatuation, it’ll go away soon. I know you aren’t in this for that kind of thing”
“Y/N. What if you can’t get past it? Then what about our little thing? Can you be in this knowing that it isn’t the same for me? That it will be one sided.”
“Yes, I said I’ll get past it, and I will. Now please, just let me be alone for a bit. I’m going to get ready to go out”
“Where are you planning on going?”
“I don’t know. Just out, be alone for a bit.”
“The last time you were alone, you-”.
Ravi clamped his mouth shut before he said too much.  He sat for a minute more, before getting up to leave. You stopped him before he rose up.
“Will you ever tell me why?”
“Y/N, don’t go there.”
“No, Ravi, if I know why then it will be easier to understand the finality of not falling for you.”
You knew you were pushing it, but honestly you needed to know why you had to keep your feelings from surfacing any more than they already were.
“I don’t talk about it, I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, or try to comfort me. All I’ll say is that it was hell for me, and I don’t want to relive it.”
He rose up and walked out, leaving you there wondering what could have been so bad, so hellish, that he guarded his heart against any feelings.
Over the next few weeks, you processed through varying steps of accepting what happened to you, and you started healing. Your physical wounds had turned to scars, but the emotional and mental ones took some more time. You and Ravi fell into a sort of symbiotic relationship. You were giving him opportunities to have some control over you, letting him tell you were you could and couldn’t go.
He decided a couple of weeks ago that you were not going back to work, insisting that he would provide anything you needed. He closed the lease on your apartment, having all of your stuff moved in to your room at his place.  One night you were up late, just watching TV, when you heard him come in during the early morning hours. You listened as you heard footsteps go up the stairs, but there were two sets you heard. A female’s voice drifted down the hall, perking your ears.
How dare he bring a woman into this house!
You were about to give him a piece of your mind, until you stopped to think about it. You had not been intimate with him in any way. You had not reinstated your agreement, and he was a man who had needs. You wished that he would have come to you, but you admitted that you gave him no reason to think he could. So what if he brought a woman home? Was she going to be his new submissive since you hadn’t told him otherwise?
You opened the door, perring past its edge. When you didn’t see anyone, you stepped out into the hall. Wanting to head downstairs so you wouldn’t hear anything, you headed for the stairwell. Just as you turned to go down, he was coming up, shirt unbuttoned and hair slightly unkempt. Your eyes must have deceived your fales resolve, because his eyes fell when he saw you.
You ran past him, making your way to the back patio. At least outside, you wouldn’t hear his sounds of pleasure that still rung loud in your head.
Ravi, was expecting you to be asleep, with it being so late. He was needing a release, since having to deny himself of having you, was driving him crazy. He could only let so many dreams about your body under his, fuel his imagination for self gratification. His plan was to have this woman out of the house as soon as he was done with her, but then he ran into you. Your eyes were full of hurt, and it made any need he had go right out the window. When you ran past him, he had to find you. But first he had to get rid of the other woman.
She was not easy to get rid of, trying everything she could to get him under the sheets. He had to practically carry her out the door. Once she was gone, he went on the hunt for you. He discovered you on the back patio, arms curled around your knees.
“I didn’t think you would be up.”
He was running his hand over the back of his neck, trying to make excuses for what he had almost done.
“What you do is your business, not mine.” you replied coolly.
“I didn’t think that it was, but-”
You cut him off coldly.
“Why didn’t you ask me if you needed something like that? Am I too damaged for you now. Didn’t think I was stable enough to handle having sex with you? Go get your little fling back, and have fun!”
You jumped up, starting for the door to run away. He didn’t let that happen though. Ravi grabbed your arm, making you turn to face him.
“You want to know why I didn’t ask? Because you have been so distant with me, I figured you weren't interested anymore, trying to get over whatever feelings you have for me. And, yes, I wasn’t sure if you would be ready for anything like that” his voice was raised, close to yelling, but then again so were you.
“All you had to do was ask! Maybe I am ready. Maybe I am just waiting for you to approach me! I’m not the only one being distant.” you held your tears at bay, refusing to let him get to you.
“I don’t think your damaged. If I could have prevented what you went through, I would have. I have only wanted to be with you, but you didn’t give me a sign that you want me too!”
“I don’t- Wha-what did you just say.” your tone evened out, just registering what he had just said.
“What do you mean?” he looked very confused to the sudden change in your mood.
“You said that you’ve only wanted to be with me.”
“Oh, well, yeah I did. And?”
“I only want to be with you too.”
You pushed your resolve to get over him to the back of your mind. Right now, right this very moment, you wanted him. You took a step forward. Watching his eyes flash. Another step and you were a hairsbreadth from his face. You could do one of two things. Kiss him and give in to the need you both had, or two, get him to push you away, efficiently making him push you out of his life and you both forgetting about each other.
You were tired of the cat and mouse game you had been playing with each other. Either you get over him or get your heart broken. Trying to save you both from any more pain or suffering, you chose to break his major rule.
Lifting your hand, you placed it cautiously on his chest, not moving any closer. You watched him for any warning you went too far. He closed his eyes, inhaling deeply and holding his breath. Putting his hand over yours, he held it firmly in place. You could feel his heart racing in his chest, his hand shaking over yours. You stayed like that for a while, afraid to move and scare him or break the connection.
He opened his eyes slowly, the look in his eyes striking something in your heart. It was a mixture of hurt, fear, pain, and confusion. He still hadn’t moved your hand, so you ventured another move. Taking your free hand, you placed it on his cheek, stroking your thumb across his skin. He leaned into the touch, sighing as you lifted his head. You wanted to kiss him. You wanted to satisfy him anyway he needed to be.
Leaning in with both hands still on him, you brushed your lips softly across his, not lingering too long. You opened your eyes, trying to gauge his reaction. He just kept his eyes closed, breathing deeply before looking back at you.
He was wrecked for you, and he couldn’t deny it anymore. He wanted you, anyway you would let him have you. Grabbing your arms, he pulled you to him, his lips pressing to yours in a hungry need. You parted your lips with a sigh, his tongue diving deep into your mouth as he fisted his hand in your hair. Your head fell back, the pressure from his hand keeping you in place. Blinking your eyes slowly, you licked your lips only to have him kissing you again. Your hand was still on his chest, trapped between your bodies. Your other hand wrapping around his neck. Trying to get your hand free, you pulled back slightly.  He lifted you, carrying you over to the outdoor couch. Leaning down, he placed you on your back, coming to let his body hover over yours.
“Don’t ever let me go this long without having you again.” his voice was husky with need.
“I won’t if you won’t.” you breathed out.
He was feeling for the hem of your shirt, but you grabbed it and pulled it over your head for him. You were no longer being patient, stripping your clothes until you were naked before him. Raking his eyes up and down your exposed flesh, he quickly disrobed and was settling between your legs.
“Are you sure?”
“If you don’t shut your mouth and fuck me right now, I’m getting up and leaving.”
He didn’t need to hear anything more before he was lining up with your folds and thrusting in hard and deep. Your walls opened for him, the memory of how he felt flooding back over you. He pumped into you hard, his hips coming flush against yours with every forward thrust. Snaking an arm under you, he sat up, bringing you to straddle his thighs.  You rocked your hips, rolling them back and forth as he slid in and out of you slick coated pussy. His head fell forward, sinking teeth into the flesh at your neck.
“Fuck Y/N, I have missed your body so much! You make me feel so damn good inside you.”
You moaned low in response, unable to talk. Just dropping your head to kiss him again.
Wanting to be in control, you twisted your hips, making him turn to the side, pushing him down, you began to bounce up and down, allowing him the perfect view of seeing his cock slide in and out of your folds. Not thinking, you dropped a hand to his chest, trying to support your body.
His demeanor changed in a split second. Suddenly he was gripping your hips, digging his nails into your flesh. His hips lifting off the cushions to thrust hard into you, your hips meeting his in succession. Pushing as hard as he could, he pumped his cock forcefully deep, making you scream out his name as you came.
Both hands now on his chest as you supported your upper half, you kept the mind numbing pace, helping him chase his own orgasm. He stilled his cock inside you, thick hot ropes of his release coating your velvety walls. Spent and exhausted, you lifted yourself off of him, coming to lay beside him on the couch.
“I’m sorry.”
You had realized that you had crossed the line once again, going to the one place that was a hard limit for him.
“Don’t.”
Ravi was processing the fact that you had gone against the hard limit, one that no one had ever crossed. The thing was, he didn’t freeze up. He let it continue, even when you had both hands on him, he didn’t stop you. He chalked it up to the intensity of the moment, swearing it wouldn’t happen again.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
You couldn’t be hurt by what he said, you understood completely what it meant to him to maintain that line.
“I won’t” you promised as you began to sit up.
Ravi pulled you back against him, bringing your head to his shoulder. You placed your knee just over his thigh, trying to keep some amount of space between you. You drifted off to sleep, Ravi lying next to you, wide awake as he thought of where he wanted to go from here.
“I can’t let you in, Y/N. I’m sorry, but I haven’t let anyone in since I made it out alive from that hell. I don’t know how to-how to love anyone. So protect your heart Y/N, that’s the only thing I can’t keep from hurting.”
Ravi was talking to you, he hoped it was too low for you to hear since you were asleep, but he had to tell you. He cared for you, but his brain fought with his heart, brain winning this round.
Rousing you from your slumber, he walked with you to bed, placing you in your room while he went to his. This was the best way to keep it neutral. You could come to his room when he needed you, but other than that, you would stay in yours.
He tossed and turned all that night, nightmares coming like a flood, nightmares he hadn’t had in years. You couldn’t sleep because you heard him when he thought you were asleep. If he was going to break your heart, then you would just have to let it happen, you couldn’t keep from falling for him, so if a heartache is what it took to get you over him, then you would have to face that pain when you crossed that bridge.
Please remember, this is NSFW. There is the Dom/Sub aspect of the characters, so if that is a trigger, please proceed at your own discretion.

Cheater ( Hyuk x reader)
You knew he didn’t love you anymore.
Broken series:
N Leo Ken Ravi Hongbin
Tumblr media
Hyuk was late again.
Looking up at the clock for what seemed like the millionth time, you sighed. The numbers read in a cruel, bold black 11:23. He was late by a whole four hours, out with her no doubt.
Frowning deeply, you got up and started to clean up the dinner that was set out on the table. It was his favourite chicken dish, cold and untouched. After placing everything into the right containers and into the fridge, you rummaged through some cabinets before finding a post-it-note and pen.
You scribbled onto the flimsy, yellow paper before sticking it onto the fridge and making your way to bed.
Happy anniversary baby.
~
You were so stupid.
At first, eight ignorant months ago, it was just Hyuk coming home an hour or so later than usual, insisting that the new comeback required more work.
“Sorry I’m late babe. The company wants me to put it in extra hours because we’re working on new choreo. I’ll make it up to you on the weekend, okay?” Hyuk smiled at you, hugging you closely. He knew you couldn’t resist his bear hugs.
“It’s fine. Just take care of yourself, Hyukkie. I don’t want you getting injured again.”
“I won’t, babe. I’ll be more careful this time.” He cupped your face lovingly. When did he become such a good liar?
“You say that everytime.” You poked at him playfully.
“You don’t believe me? Fine! I promise you I’ll be more careful this time! Scout’s honour!” He saluted in his usual silly way and you chuckled, falling so easily for his charms.
You still did. It killed you inside. You often wondered who was worse in this empty shell of a relationship.
The cheater, or the girl who didn’t have the strength to leave the cheater.
~
His phone wouldn’t stop ringing.
The constant buzzing, the constant high pitched pinging of his phone...it was so humiliating. Hyuk declined call after call every time, before turning his attention back to you.
“So I told her-“ you continued on before being interrupted once more.
BUZZ
Your eyes found their way onto the phone and you were unable to tear them away.
BUZZ
“Fucking manager...I have to take this.” He Hyuk stared at his phone for a few moments, before cursing to and excusing himself. He must’ve really liked his manager with how quickly he got up.
“Sure.” You looked back at him now, smiling tightly in an attempt to hide your hurt.
Could he not pay attention to you for a single second? Were you truly that repulsive, that horrid that he couldn’t stand to be in the same room as you for longer than a few minutes?
You wondered what this woman looked like. Was she taller and slender or shorter and curvier? She must’ve been prettier than you for him to be so enamoured with her. Maybe her lips were fuller or her eyelashes were longer. Hyuk loved long eyelashes on women.
“Sorry about that, the manager wants me to come to the studio and discuss the new single on the album.” You didn’t even hear him come back.
“It’s okay. It can’t be helped, I guess.” Hyuk smiled back at you, eyes crinkling.
“That’s my girl. You’ve always been so supportive. It’s why I love you.”
Love.
Love.
How could he even think of saying that word to you?
Did he even know the meaning of it?
“I love you too, Hyuk.”
He shut the door on his way out.
~
Her name was Eunseo.
You groaned as Hyuk thrust into you, enjoying the stretch. His skin was hot, covered in a light sheen of sweat and the sinewy feel of his arms around you made it so much more pleasurable.
This was the closest you could’ve possibly been.
He groaned from behind you, spanking you roughly and picked up the pace. A shrill yell came from your throat and you buried your flushed face into the pillow beneath you.
You reached your climax in no time, relishing in the pool of heat that built in your stomach. The delicious friction between you and Hyuk, no one made you feel like he did.
Then you heard it.
“Eunseo...”
It was nothing but a whisper, nothing but a small breath but you caught it.
You were glad you weren’t facing him because he couldn’t see the the tears that fell from your eyes.
Eunseo, that was the name of the woman your boyfriend loved.
~
It got harder to face him.
After you heard her name, after you heard him say it with such love, such desire, it got harder to be near him.
He made you face the other way so it was easier to imagine her. He left you at home to sleep in a cold bed because he was too busy warming hers. He said he loved you whilst on his way to show her his admiration.
And you were still willing to give him a chance. Just one. One last chance. You prayed he would take it. You prayed he would love you again.
“Hyuk, I booked a cabin lodge for my birthday. It’s for just the two of us. I already checked with your manager and he said your schedule’s clear from the 18th onwards. I wanted to do something nice since we haven’t seen much of each other lately. I miss you.”
Hyuk looked at you, eyes narrowed slightly in annoyance. He stopped writing, body tensing over the wood of his work desk.
“You already booked it? Without checking with me?”
Oh no. This isn’t where you wanted this to go.
“I-I just wanted to do something with you. I thought it would be a good surprise.” Hyuk furrowed his brows at this, staring at you in a way you could only describe as venomously.
“A good surprise? What are we, five? Didn’t it occur to you that I had things to do?” Hyuk stood now, walking over to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
“I-I-it’s my birthday, Hyuk. We hardly see each other. What could be more import-“ you tried to keep your voice steady, you tried to keep it together but it was so hard. Was he really angry at you for trying to spend time with him. Was his slut Eunseo really that important to him?
“A lot of things could be more important, Y/N. I had plans with the guys and now I can’t go because you’re guilt tripping me to go on some vacation I wasn’t even told about!” He raised his voice now, the defensiveness in his tone sending knives into your chest. You felt the tears seep out. You couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“Sanghyuk...you missed our 3rd year anniversary. I waited four whole hours and you never came home. You don’t talk to me, you don’t look at me. All I want is to do is spend some time with you, that’s all I ever think of. Don’t you understand? You’re-you’re my everything and I want to spend my birthday with you and you’re telling me it’s not important. I’m not important to you? Do you hate me that fucking much? What the fuck did I do to you?” You were screaming now, wailing with hot tears splayed all over your cheeks.
Hyuk stared back, silence engulfing the room for a few moments.
“It’s work.”
“Work? Your fucking schedule is clear, Hyuk! Just tell me you hate me! Tell me you don’t love me anymore! Tell me that you can’t stand the sight of me Hyuk!” You charged at him, punching his chest.
“Do it! Do it, Hyuk! Be a fucking man for once in your life and tell me how you feel!” Hyuk simply stood there, letting you beat him. Your vision was blurry with tears but from the corner of your eye you saw his glass.
“Tell me the truth Hyuk but don’t do...this!” You picked up a glass, aiming for his head and threw it with all your might. Hyuk barely had time to dodge.
“Are you fucking insane? What are you doing?” He yelled at last, face contorted in fury.
A strange feeling of relief filled you. Finally, he was showing some real emotion towards you. For he first time in months, he wasn’t holding back. He wasn’t lying.
“Are you sure it’s just work?” Hyuk’s eyes snapped back to you.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Seeing his face so close to yours, the lovely fairness of his complexion, the slope of his nose, the brown of his eyes. How could someone so beautiful, be so rotten?
You said nothing.
~
Hyuk adored her.
“Hey babe..yes, I’m alone right now...no she’s at work...”
You stood outside the bedroom, listening intently to your boyfriend’s words. How was he so casual about this? How did he not realise he was breaking your heart? He called her by the same name he called you only it sounded so warm this time. Being with you was like a chore to him, a necessity he had to get out of the way.
“Mmm...that sounds nice, I’ll be over in a bit. I’ve just gotta talk to her for a while. You know what she’s like... yeah, clingy.” You were anything but clingy. You barely spent time with him and hardly ever asked him to. You were more like roommates at this point.
“Yeah, well, I’ll see you soon babe. I love you.”
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
He had said the same thing to you last night.
~
You had enough.
The bustle of the the bar was somewhat therapeutic to you. You wouldn’t be alone tonight, you couldn’t be alone tonight. Your home was a prison and Hyuk was the jailer, taunting you with his own freedom.
You had enough.
Gulping down the bitter contents of your bottle, footsteps sounded next to you.
“A woman as beautiful as yourself shouldn’t be drinking alone.” The voice was soft and smooth, it contained a warmth to it that Hyuk’s didn’t possess.
You turned to look at him, taking in his handsome features. His face was small, delicately formed with sharp, high cheek bones and pouty lips. He looked nothing like your Hyuk, with skin that was a deep, golden colour. He was godly and your confidence rose when you registered his flirtations. It was nice to know that someone considered to be attractive. Hyuk no longer did.
“I’m not drinking alone. You’re here now.”
He chuckled in response and ordered some more liquor, smooth talking you whilst doing so. You were happy to entertain him.
The hours passed and the man, who you now knew as Taekwoon, had almost made you forget about the ache in your chest, the knowledge that your boyfriend was deeply in love with another. Taekwoon was lovely, good listener and was soft spoken. Everything Hyuk was not. You watched his adam’s apple Bob as he gulped down his liquor, the taut and tanned skin of his neck looked delectable. You wanted him.
“You’re staring.” He smirked once he put his glass down.
“Come home with me tonight.” Your boldness shocked even yourself for a moment and Taekwoon leaned forward, taking your hands in his own.
“Lead the way.”
Tonight, Hyuk would get a taste of his own medicine.

iZombie 5x04 "Dot Zom" Review
Has iZombie just introduced its newest zombie Big Bad? Everyone’s favorite French Inspector is at it again, thawing those rogue Fillmore Graves who committed the shooting at the human bar, Warm Bodies. He brings them to a sketchy van, and introduces them to a shady character, snorting a substance from a vial. When they ask him who is, all he reveals is that zombies are the next stage of human evolution, and he wants to usher the new era of humanity. When one of the rogue FG traitors turns him down, Shady Zombie Man rages out on command and takes him out. I guess we have to add him to the list of deadly foes in New Seattle.
And speaking of new eras, Shady Zombie Man is not the only one with apocalypse on the brain. For the murder-of-the-week, Clive and Liv investigate a genius app designer, who in his late life became obsessed with curating a group of ideal humans to live in a bunker when the moment inevitably comes. Liv takes his brain “on the go,” swirling chunks into a bottle of kombucha. Clive is more disgusted with the fermented tea than the brain bits, which shows how far he’s come over five seasons. While Liv and Clive investigate the surrounding characters involved with Cornell, I was surprised to see how shy Liv was about her zombie-ness. Everyone seems to recognize her as Renegade, but when they interrogate Nora, Cornell’s assistant, Clive and Liv make excuses for her brain visions. Liv turns a 180 when they tap a likely suspect, “The Fixture King,” Sheldon Drake. He spews vitriol about zombies in her direction, and she defiantly snaps back. There was something so refreshing for Liv to confront a suspect by saying “I saw it. In a vision.” While Clive’s comments and half baked cover ups for Liv are part of what make their partnership so fun, I loved watching Liv stand up for herself in this moment, especially to a guy like this. A closer look at Sheldon Drake reveals that he really is up to no good. Dead-Enders have started a doxxing website to out Seattle zombies, but Drake and Cornell had taken it a step further — data mining to find online behavior patterns for zombies. An operation like this could be catastrophic for the identities of zombies in New Seattle. While the killer is revealed to be Melissa, Cornell’s business partner and former girlfriend, she pleads with Renegade that it was meant to be an act of justice. “He wanted to save humanity. I wanted to save zombie kind. You understand, don’t you Renegade?” she says. Things are going to get dicey if Clive and Liv unavoidably find each other on opposite sides of the legal system.
Blaine returns to his schoomzy ways, peacocking and crooning around his restaurant as he announces that he’s getting profiled for a magazine by Al Bronson. He’s even more delighted when it turns out that “Al” is short for “Alice,” a beautiful young woman. His peacocking and crooning get even more insufferable after that. At first it seems like Al might be falling for it (especially after Blaine takes out some Dead-Enders while on a “Brazilian Street Fighter” brain), but then she stumbles upon Blaine’s study. She had previously mentioned she had been profiling Mayor Baracus before he was killed, and it looks like she still might be on the story —  Blaine has proudly displayed the mask he wore in the video where he kills Baracus. Oh Blaine, you pompous fool. Maybe his vanity will finally take him down this time.
Meanwhile, Ravi and Peyton work on Jimmy’s comedy sketch that’s meant to smoothe over zombie and human relations. It’s a bumpy start, and Peyton and Jimmy disagree over artistic vision. “For God’s sake, make it stop,” she groans. Jimmy’s knuckles practically turn zombie white as he insists that it’s supposed to be a comedy, but Peyton points out that all the jokes make zombies the punchline. The young woman playing the zombie, Yasmine, speaks up, and Peyton makes her head writer. Yasmine spins the script to give it more “heart” and convinces Jimmy and the rest of the cast to get on board.
And now for the plot that made my heart ache the most — iZombie giveth and taketh away Mr. Graham Moss. We are introduced to Mr. Moss, Jaelyn and Michael’s favorite teacher, as the principal is firing him for being a zombie. Major tells Liv about it, and in a stroke of genius brain, she suggests hiring him to tutor all the zombie children they have been accumulating. When they bring him in to offer him the position, they stress if he’s going to tutor at Renegade’s headquarters, he needs to have the utmost discretion. This arrangement is rainbows and butterflies for about two seconds, because Mr. Moss almost immediately starts telling his date, in a public place, about his new gig. He gets kidnapped by Rogue FG Traitor and Shady Zombie Man (I am so sorry, I can’t find their names anywhere), and forces Mr. Moss to work for them. And just like that, Mr. Moss pops back into Renegade’s headquarters, but this time, he’s compromised. What could Shady Zombie Man possibly want with Liv and her operation? I can’t believe I immediately fell in love with the idea of a mini zombie resistance school, just to have it taken from me in under 40 minutes. That’s television for you.
Stray Thoughts
Major watching TV with zombie kiddos is my favorite Major. Also, when he tells Mr. Moss that “lives depend on it” and looks lovingly right at Liv? So soft! It was lovely to see these two working together this episode. I’m a sucker for how the show is slowly rebuilding these two back towards each other this season.
Ugh the stereotype of journalists flirting and contemplating sleeping with sources, as well as some violence against a gay character this episode. Both are bad looks, iZombie.
“If I’m anything, I’m a man of my word.” Blaine, you are delusional.
Slams table — Where is Quinta B?!
Haley’s episode rating: 🐝🐝🐝🐝
iZombie airs Thursdays at 9/8c on the CW.

|VIXX| Imagine #5|
Member: Hyuk.
Summary: It’s been a while since you saw VIXX members, and they don’t know why you left. Now that you’re back they received you with open arms but Hyuk isn’t one of them, he’s mad at you for leaving him since he always loved you.
Words: 1020.
———————————————————————————-
Today you are at the cafeteria just waiting to meet up with Hyuk. Since you came back from your hometown he has been colder with you and you totally understand him, you left when you barely started going out together but you needed to go for your studies. Now you are in vacation’s break so you have plenty of time to be with them once again, even if you know that a goodbye will happen again.
-I’m here – Hyuk said serious as he sat down in front of you.
-I thought you wouldn’t come – You said surprised while looking at him amazed.
-Yeah I thought that too, but Leo-hyung threated me to come – Hyuk said as he rolled his eyes.
-He did what? – You asked upset.
-Y/N you should be thankful because he insisted – Hyuk said as he looked at you.
-I know, but I didn’t wanted you to be forced to come – You said as you looked away from him.
-You want to talk? Or… what? – Hyuk asked confused.
-Oh, yes. You want to walk around? – You asked nervously.
-Sure – Hyuk said as he stood up from his seat-. Hyuk and you started to walk around the sidewalk of the streets, and at the beginning everything was silence in between you too until you began to ask him questions about his days, Starlight and the group in general.
-I heard from Ravi-hyung that you went to study – Hyuk said as he looked away from you.
-I did, I went to my hometown to finish up another year – You said shyly.
-So you’ll go again? – Hyuk asked concerned.
-Yes but I have a lot of vacations now – You said with settle smile.
-So you came here for vacations? Out of everything you could choose from? – Hyuk asked surprised.
-Well yes. My friends wanted me to go with them to Miami but I decided to not go because I wanted to come to Seoul – You said as you looked at the beautiful sunset.
-Why? – Hyuk asked.
-Why I wouldn’t? I mean you are here, my friends are here and last time I left without saying goodbye – You said as you looked at Hyuk. –Sorry if I harmed you, Ken told me how hard it was for you since I left – You said concerned as you started to hold his hand.
-I should be the one apologising though – Hyuk said as he looked down and then he pressed your hand gently. -I never thought you went away because of your studies.
-It isn’t your fault, I mean I never told you anything about it – You said as you lifted up Hyuk’s chin and then you smiled at him. –Last time we saw each other we were going out so I admit that it was the worst time to go away.
-Yeah. Now I feel like a fool for not talking with you these last days – Hyuk said as he chuckled.
-You were a little too tough with me but is okay, now you know why – You said as you smiled.
-Yes, I guess I was too harsh on you. I’m sorry – Hyuk said as he pressed your hand gently. You reloaded your head on his shoulder and you kept walking as the sunset was starting to disappear and the moon started to come out.
-*Sigh* I really wanted to go to Miami – You joked which made Hyuk laugh a little.
-Yah! Don’t change me for a beach – Hyuk said as he looked at you playfully.
-Me? Never, I would rather take you with me – You said as you giggled a little.
-One day we can escape from here if you want, as you said; “You still have plenty day of vacations” – Hyuk said before he kissed your head.
-*Chuckle* I guess we can, but you should see if you have anything going on.
-You’re right Y/N, I’ll see if the group has anything planned – Hyuk said before he sighed. –Now that I remember, Hongbin-hyung went to your hometown while you were there, and if I don’t remember wrong he was there because he was filming a drama – Hyuk said.
-Oh, really? Well that’s great, but I didn’t saw him – You said as you looked up at the stars that were coming out. “Perfect time” – You thought before you stopped walking. Hyuk looked at you a bit confused since you stopped walking all of the sudden, immediately you took out a little box you had inside your pocket and then you gave it to Hyuk.
-What’s this? – Hyuk said as he looked at it surprised.
-Do you really thought I would forget your birthday? It’s your present dummy – You said before you cluttered his hair. Hyuk opened the little box which is a long neckless that has a pendant shaped as a piano key.
-Oh! This is really for me? – Hyuk asked as he putted it on.
-Of course is for you, I know you like to play the piano so I bought it for you – You said happily while looking at Hyuk’s smile.
-This is great, thank you Y/N – Hyuk said before he hugged you tight.
-You don’t have to thank me, just promise me that you’ll never lose it – You said before you laughed a little.
-I never lose things! – Hyuk complained as he kept on holding the pendant.
-Yeah, sure. Don’t you remember my phone at the Ferris wheel? – You asked while rolling your eyes.
-Okay, that was one time and I apologised to you once I got it back – Hyuk said a bit embarrassed.
-It’s alright, just keep it safe – You said happily.
-Both of you? – Hyuk asked as he smirked.
-Both? – You asked confused.
-Yes Y/N, the pendant and your heart – Hyuk said before he hugged you once again. –You coming back is the best gift ever.
———————————————————————————-
Thank you so much for reading this imagine! I hope you enjoyed it and that you are celebrating this awesome guy’s birthday. Please keep on supporting VIXX and keep showing them how important they are to you.
Starlight, thank you so much for loving them, let’s keep on growing together! As always I hope you’re having an awesome day!

Anxious Moments
“Vaharis? Vaharis, hla aln, where are you?”
The sound of her mother’s voice sent her stomach in circles. It was that tone. The tone that said, “We need to talk about something serious.” Had she done something wrong? What could her mother complain about now? Had one of her friends said something to them, something they didn’t approve of? These questions plagued her every time that tone came out, which happened quite frequently now that she was a teenager.
Slowly, Vaharis closed the book she’d been reading, hesitantly responding, “I’m in my room, alma. What’s going on?”
Her mother came in, a fake smile on her lips. A smile that dropped Vaharis’s stomach even further into her gut. A drop that sunk so low as her mother closed the door behind her, Vaharis thought she’d be ill.
“I just want to talk to you for a second, is that okay?” Her mother asked as she sat down on the end of Vaharis’s bed.
“Sure,” Vaharis said as nonchalantly as she could, though she truthfully wanted nothing more than to break through her window and never look back. Her fight-or-flight response hit her harder than an ash storm in the valley. “What’s up?”
“I’ve been hearing from the other mothers about some of your relationships with your friends.” Her mother’s brows furrow in concern. “I’ve been hearing about your relationships with some females and I’m simply concerned that-”
Vaharis scoffed and cut her mother off, “What, that I’d turn into one of my brothers and betray the family? Alma, I’m not like them. I’d never turn my back on you or ata.”
Her mother didn’t seem completely convinced, and Vaharis wasn’t sure she could blame her. Having lost two of her sons already, she was surely afraid of losing her daughter as well. Not to mention, having three children abandon Clan Selos from the same parents... Ravi and Durai had already left a permanent stain on the family name. Vaharis would be damned if she did the same.
“I’m just concerned,” her mother continued, as if she hadn’t heard or understood a word Vaharis had said, “that you’ll pick one of them. Or that they’ll change your mindset and turn you against us. I want you to be careful.”
“Mama,” Vaharis insisted, “I promise. I’m fine. I’ll never hurt you or papa. You’re my parents, I couldn’t hurt you like that.”
But truthfully, she felt trapped. The expectations to remain pure, to be obedient, to listen and learn, to stay quiet and absorb information at all times, to stay loyal to the Clan and House even when she didn’t think they were right. House Redoran was the right House. The Clan’s reputation was what mattered in the long run. Help fix the Clan’s reputation, and she’d go down in history with the rest of them, just as their legendary Haravin had.
Despite all that, she wanted freedom to be herself. Who her parents saw and who she wanted to be were two very different things. However, how her parents saw her was all that mattered at the end of the day. They were her loving parents. They gave her food, water, shelter, and everything she could have ever asked for - toys, games, statues, clothes, weapons. She asked, and they gave. To turn away from them after they had done so much for her... how could she even dare to think of it?
You have it nice. They always told her that. That she was lucky. She’d be a fool to deny it - she wasn’t out on the streets, wandering helplessly like so many others. She wasn’t a savage Ashlander, either. She was blessed. Any time there were clothes on her floor, they’d threaten to take them away. “I don’t buy you nice things to have you keep them on the floor,” her father would say. Her father didn’t care that she was hardly older than a toddler whose only thoughts were on play and not on responsibility. “I don’t work hard for you to have nice things and then treat them like crap.”
It was only fair, she figured. They treated her well. She had to listen to them. That’s what the rule was. They spoke, she listened. They commanded, she obeyed. It was as simple and as complicated as that.
“These friends aren’t good for you, Vaharis,” her mother said, interrupting her own internal monologue. “I think you’d be better off with other people...”
Vaharis clenched her jaw and kept quiet. She liked her friends. They were her freedom. They encouraged her to be strong, to continue to strive to be better for herself and not for anyone else. “You don’t understand, mama. They treat me well. I like them.”
“I think they’re holding you back from greater things, though.”
At this point, Vaharis couldn’t even look at her mother. She didn’t want to see her face. She didn’t believe her friends were holding her back - she loved them all and they supported her just as she supported them. What was so wrong with that?
“I don’t agree with you,” Vaharis said steadily, “But I see where you’re coming from.”
Friends encouraged free thought. Her parents didn’t like that concept. Of course she saw where her parents were coming from.
She didn’t like that they treated her like she had to listen to their every word. Like she couldn’t have thought of her own.
There was a part of her that felt she had to listen to them. That she was a traitor if she didn’t - but there was a part of her that wanted to demand her own freedom.
What did she listen to? Her parents or her heart?
“Just think about it, okay? I only want what’s best for you.” Her mother smiled and patted her knee, then walked out.
Angry, hurt, and torn, Vaharis opened her book back up and tried to return to her reading.

A Moment
“Oi, mom...”
Navalli looked up from her letter to see Ravi standing in the doorway with his hands folded neatly behind his back. The perfect picture child he was; not a hair out of place nor a wrinkle in his clothes. A perfect face...
For such an imperfect being.
She set the quill in the ink bottle and turned sideways in her chair to face him. “What’s up, love? Everything alright?”
He looked around and he almost seemed... uncomfortable. It was a mood she rarely saw from him these days. To some, Ravi was the center of attention, and because of that, he had a face to keep up, a personality. A facade. She hated it.
“I’m fine,” he insisted after a moment of thought. “May I come in?”
Rolling her eyes, she said, “Only if you stop looking so jumpy. Otherwise, shut the door on your way out.”
Finally, that seemed to get him to relax a bit and he stepped through the threshold to her room. “Sorry. I’m out of my element tonight.”
“I can tell. Do I need to kill anyone?”
That brought a breathless laugh out of him as he sat down on her bed, within reaching distance. “No, but thanks for jumping to that conclusion.”
Navalli half-smiled. “Anything for you. Really, though, you’re worrying me, and I don’t like being worried. Are you sure you’re alright?”
Ravi waved a dismissive hand. “I’m fine, mom, really. I only wanted to give you something.”
A second of silence as she blinked in shock. “I’m sorry, what?”
Pulling his hands out behind her back, he revealed a small elongated box of hand-carved wood, intricately carved with a spiraling geometric design she had never seen before. It had a small latch on the front to keep whatever was inside from falling out. Now that she thought about it, how had she not assumed he was hiding something behind him with his hands folded as they had been?
“A gift,” he said.
Navalli’s brow furrowed. “Please tell me there’s no special occasion for you giving this to me, I’m not good at this.”
This time, his laugh was a little more free. “Not necessarily. I won’t go on a long speech about it for your sake. I’ll just say... consider it a showing of appreciation.”
“... I’m not going to ask for anything more than that.” She reached out and took the box from him, studying it for a moment. It really was beautiful and she couldn’t imagine anything inside of it being any less impressive... which made her hesitant to open it at all. Why would Ravi spend so much money on her? Surely this had to cost a hundred coins, if not a couple hundred. Why? What would warrant such a purchase for her?
“Mom... you can open it.”
She realized how long she’d been simply staring at it. “I don’t understand this at all, but... alright.”
As if she were afraid of something darting out of the box at her, she turned the lock slowly and opened the box, letting the like creep in and reveal its contents.
Inside was a dark red felt interior holding a gorgeous white quill, feathers softer and thinner than any pen she had ever seen. Its tip wasn’t the usual rachis tip, but rather one made of golden metal.
She’d never seen anything like it. Ever.
“Ravi...” she almost didn’t even dare pick it up. “It’s beautiful. Where did you even find such a thing?”
“In the market,” he responded, “I thought you would like it.”
“I love it,” was her instant response. “I can’t believe you would buy something like this for me. Have you lost your mind?”
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “I told you, it’s a show of appreciation...”
She knew she was going to regret it, but she found herself asking, “Appreciation for what?”
Ravi gave her a smile - a genuine one, not the charming playboy one. “You took me in, remember? You had nothing. No capabilities or knowledge of how to care for another person. Yet, you worked for me. You took up bounties and made gold to buy me food and a place to sleep. You quite literally killed to keep me alive. Eventually, you saved up enough of that gold to buy us a house, a tiny little thing, but it was ours.”
He reached out to take her hand. “It’s because of you I found strength. I could no longer be ashamed of who I am with you, and yet despite how I can be sometimes...” he chuckled. “You still keep me around and insist on caring for me and loving me regardless of how bad I can get. So... thank you.”
Navalli felt she would damn near cry. It had been decades since Ravi had been so down-to-earth with her.
Setting the box on her desk, she moved over to the bed to pull him into a rare hug. “You may frustrate me, and I may want to strangle you a lot of the time, but I swear to you, Ravi, you will always be my son.”
He returned her hug. “And you my alma, if not by blood but by heart.”
They stayed like that for some time, caught up in their embrace for the moment, tranquility drowning out the rest of the world. In this moment, there were no worries, no troubles, no struggles, no enemies, no problems. It was a rare moment... too rare to simply let go of so quickly.
But eventually, Navalli could feel the awkwardness settle in the depths of her gut.
She pulled away and cleared her throat. “Now off with you. You have work to do.”
Chuckling, Ravi, too, pulled away. “And you have a letter to finish with your fancy new quill.”
“I’m afraid I’ll break it, but... it tempts me, sitting right there. I’ll let you know how it works when I figure it out.”
Before he could pull too far away, Navalli kissed the top of his head.
“Love you too, mom.”
Before Ravi could completely leave the room, he turned to give her one last glance.
He hadn’t said a word that wasn’t true.
Navalli was a blessing to his life. The single, strongest soul he had ever met, and despite her issues and cold demeanor, she had chosen to let him in. To love him like her own. Sure, it had taken her some time, but eventually, she had caved to him. Without her, he’d never be where he was. Who he was.
He would be nothing if not for her.
He could only pray that one day, she’d see herself in the same light he saw her in.
A hero.
