Eddie always shouts Buck's name now because the last time he shouted more than 8 times Buck didn't respond because he was dead so he is always extremely excited to call out to Buck because Buck will respond. Someone needs to sedate me.

Buddie fic where early on in their relationship Buck asks Eddie on a date but Eddie turns him down, saying he’s not interested in men. It’s early enough that it doesn’t change anything and it’s not a big deal except buck’s initial attraction and crush develops over time until he’s in love with Eddie. They still go through the same disasters and heartaches, the same emotional triumphs, but there’s an ache in Buck that he can’t ever really ignore.

And then years into their friendship Eddie has had enough self discovery (and therapy) to come out as gay.

Buck’s initial reaction is to be so fucking proud of Eddie. He’s seen him struggle for so long and it really looks like this weight has been lifted from his shoulders. And his next reaction is to curl up in his bed and try not to sob because if Eddie likes men then that means it was only ever about Eddie not being able to love Buck. Buck being a man has nothing to do with Eddie rejecting him.

It’s always just Buck being unlovable.
