Audrey Hepburn was a taurus sun but she always maintained a slim figure thru strict diet for her roles and career, but also ate healthily when she allowed herself to.

🎧 Virgo suns with cancer placements in the kpop industry are admired for their visuals, they can be chic, elegant, cute, cool etc. They may be good at modeling as well, knowing how to pose and express their different looks and vibes thru their eyes and etc. Eg. Joy from Red velvet and Wonyoung from Ive. Additionally, if they have cancer venus with Virgo sun, it may tie to how others are attracted and appealed to their energy, virgo + cancer = put together, elegant, magnetic, always looking stylish in a sense.

🎧 Mutable sign energy(sag, virgo, gemini) + mercury energy (gemini, 3rd house, virgo, 6th house) = rambling on and on about a topic or their thoughts. I have a friend who is a gemini sun and virgo moon, he rambles on to try to get the words/phrase right or his thoughts out, and he just keeps chatting on while you're clearly concerned if he should take a breath and pause. I have another friend who is a sag moon with mercury in 3rd house and she rambles on but instead messes up the words a lot and when she's texting she has so many typos lol.

Sag + gemini energy in the chart makes them chaotically energetic when they're passionate about a topic when with friends. Gemini + virgo energy makes for an interesting conversation that touches on different topics in one sitting and it's neverending. And my virgo moon and 1st house stellium is here for it.

im glad you asked!

we all know that minnie and momo are the it girls of their groups and of their generation era (amongst other members in their group/idols in the 3rd and first half of 4th gen). and many men and women in and out of kpop love them, so of course they are considered 'mother'. and we all know that wonyoung is the current it girl in the 2nd half of 4th gen. in summary, momo is japan's it girl for dance, minnie is thailand's it girl for singing, and wonyoung is korea's current it girl for visuals.

wonyoung, because she's too young to be considered 'mother' to me, would be looking onto other idols older than her who hold the 'mother' material on how to be the best woman-pleaser. she's not really into pleasing the men, as her looks can already do that. as for the girls, however, i believe she'd want to work extra hard to satisfy their every need the best way possible through fanservice.

she started with flirtatious gestures, making sure not to go too far as when she gave a fangirl the cutesy wink or a blowing kiss. then she decided to take it up a notch, kissing the hands of her members like a prince would to the lady he's courting. it was supposed to be for fun, but then she got addicted. now she's been looking at her seniors, eager to get to know them, feel them, experience something new with them. nsfw, threesome talks

Redacted Headcanons cause I'm lonely ─

╴Lasko knows lots of coreos from kpop girl groups and can almost do a full kpop random dance

╴ The whole D.A.M.N crew is flabbergasted: Gavin enjoys the view, Freelancer is dancing next to Lasko, Huxley wants to learn too and Damien is embarrassed to admit that he DOES know some boy group coreos.

╴Gavin knows how to speak Spanish and can definitely throw it back/dance to reggae in a club.

╴ Freelancer paint as a hobby. Sometimes it's messy (paint allí over them) , other times they're happily painting under the sunlight and Gavin is watching them from the door like a hopeless romantic.

╴Gavin feeds on sexual desire of course but there are these soft moments when he can sense so much happiness inside of Freelancer that he feels a wave of energy crushing through him.

╴Avior feels whole when he sees Starlight doing something they like along with some fun music in the background. The positive emotions flowing out their body are like a full meal to him.

╴When Angel saw first handed how David genuinely laughed out loud at something they did, they knew. They were like: "yup, he's the one".

╴Vega is capable of shredding someone to pieces if they dare to interrupt warden's/darling's sleep. If he even feels someone getting near to the bedroom door, his eyes are already glowing red and burning.

╴Tank/Darlin' poses in front of Sam just to brag and show off their muscles whenever they come from the gym. Much to Sam's surprise, they're able to carry him at least bridal style (he's blushing all over the place).

╴Sam, David and Vega have big titty privilege because I say so.

╴Milo and Asher had scared multiple and I say MULTIPLE times their partners and the pack in general just from them screaming at horror games/horror movies. The worst part is that the rest wasn't even paying attention to it.

╴If they met, Gavin and Vincent would do each other's eyeliner. Lovely and Deviant would enjoy the view, taking pictures and gossiping.

╴Milo learned pretty quickly how to make all types of knots. You know why.

Hi! Why do so many BLs have one character meet the other when they were a child and love them since then…. I’m watching History 5 and the second couple has this trope with the older one loving the child but loads of them have a child ‘loving’ the older guy for years (Minato, second couple in History 4, lovely writer)

Is this a common trope in non-BL Asian dramas? Maybe I’m missing some cultural aspect but it makes me feel a bit weird… I’m fine when they both meet as children but when one’s a child and one’s an adult it feels off to me!

We Met As Kids, Therefore I Love You

Yes, it's a super common trope in ALL Asian romances.

There's a human cross-cultural claim-to-care around having met someone "first" giving one person priority to another's affection and in their life.

For example, think about how many fans (of say a Kpop group or band or actor) will claim to be "better" or morally superior to other fans of that same talent, because they have have liked that group/person "since the beginning" or "before they were famous." How about those who claim superiority because they read the book before the TV series became popular?

To have loved something FIRST is often allied with being better at loving it, there is a value judgement to longevity of association. (This is also true around disliking someone/something first.)

There isn't a name for this logical fallacy, although there should be. I would say something like appeal to tradition argumentum ad antiquitatem (which is a red herring fallacy). So appeal to time, argumentum ad tempus?

(The 8th Sense is doing some VERY interesting things to philosophically battle this concept right NOW, actually.)

Narratively speaking, if you have only a short amount of time to unfold the story (for example We Best Love) this trope gives writers a quick way to justify pining and affection (usually from the seme character). So backstory can be cribbed for character development. That character is already in love, so we don't have to show him falling in love, only one character is in play for that.

In longer narratives (like Word of Honor, Lovely Writer) this is a secret that gets to be slowly uncovered and explored as a plot point. If you have them meet as children, or when one is a child then it justifies one character not remembering the other (because peoples appearances change from childhood to adulthood).

I think the popularity in Asian dramas in particular has to do with collectivist cultures and family obligation/intimacy priority. To have known (or met) someone as a kid adds a level of intimate connection that justifies any affection that much more than meeting later in life.

There's a very funny scene in Kdrama (noona romance) Thumping Spike (recommended) that directly mocks this trope. Near the end the main couple openly together and they are in the car with the (former) love triangle dude. He lost, even though he's the one with the childhood crush. He directly combats this concept by saying (basically): If longevity guaranteed romance, I should be married to the grandma who runs my local convenience store.

Another well known Kdrama that combats this trope is Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (recommended) which goes out of its way to have the love triangle character who would normally lose the girl, actual win her this time. (So the one who loses is the moot crush from childhood.)

out of all the tr characters who do you think is the most KPOP fan? I’m betting my money on chifuyu, because the whole fandom collectively agreed that he’s a ONCE (twice fan)

Ok hmm I would agree with Chifuyu but I'd also add to this list (btw I know nothing about kpop so here we go)

Shinichiro: He started listening because he thought it could be a conversation starter with girls but then he realised he was actually into it and now happily bops along while fixing up bikes.

Hakkai: He loves a lot of different kpop groups but is a bit embarrassed about it so whenever someone catches it in his playlist or asks why he has so much knowledge on certain groups he blames Yuzuha. (Meanwhile she's just standing there confused). He's also pretty rich so gets a lot of the merch and stuff.

Emma and Hina: Feel like they're besties who talk about their groups and latest performances and things.

Ran: ok I don't think he's that into the music itself but is more interested in the members. I feel like he finds the fashion interesting as well as the performances, the poses. After all these are famous people, celebrities which is what he wants to be so I could see him taking interest and observing what the fans like best.

Jaesun looks just as natural posing for the camera as he does performing to crowds of adoring fans. The rising kpop soloist—in an industry focused more on groups—is preparing for the release of his sophomore EP, ROCKST★R. His highly anticipated debut EP, Key to Your Heart,arrived at the end of June, hot on the heels of reality TV show Boys Planet, in which he competed in.

Following the distinctly kpop sound of his first EP, ROCKST★R seeks to showcase a different sound. The five tracks are all deeply inspired by 2000s pop punk and punk rock, driven by fast-paced guitars and upbeat drum beats. When asked what made him choose this route, he responded, “I have my producer to thank for this. I was introduced to him through another friend, and we clicked as soon as we met. He produced my first album as well. He said he thought this sound fit me, and I agreed.”

Jaesun’s enigmatic producer, SEOUL’D OUT, is correct. His voices soars across the introduction to “Supernova,” the album’s first track, accompanied only by the most minimal guitar chords. It segues smoothly into title track “Busted!” with a pre-chorus that builds and builds until its satisfying, guitar-driven drop, concluding in a kpop-typical rap verse.

“I’ve always been a fan of the genre,” Jaesun says. He later names Bring Me the Horizon, My Chemical Romance, and Paramoreas some of his favorite bands. For kpop groups, he’s been partial to Girls’ Generation, f(x), and F.T. Island.

Jaesun is no stranger to the stage, or performing. The eldest child of kdrama power couple Hwang Ihyeon and Song Miae, it seems like Jaesun has always been on stage. He denies it.

“My parents never wanted me to work in the entertainment industry,” he says with a laugh. “They tried everything they could to keep me from it. I learned calligraphy and archery and ran track and swam. I still found my way here.”

His start came at a mere twelve years of age, when he played the role of Perchik in his middle school’s production of Fiddler on the Roof. “My school’s theater department was small. The school focused more on academics, but I was never good at that,” Jaesun recalls. “I thought I should just try whatever I could. At the time, I don’t think I could have left the theater, even if I wanted to. There were never enough male students participating.”

Jaesun chalks the rest of his musical experience up to that fact. It’s a good thing, then, that he took an immediately liking to his roles. Throughout high school, he played Enjolras in Les Misérables, Sky in Mamma Mia!, and finished his senior year as the titular character of Beetlejuice. Following his high school graduation, he set out to pursue his true dream: becoming an idol.

“It was part of a deal I made with my parents,” he says. “They refused to let me drop out of school. I had to graduate first, then I was free to do anything I wanted. Later, I recognized that they made a lot of sacrifices for my schooling and all the experiences I gained along the way.” His pragmatic viewpoint is refreshing, never once trying to downplay the privilege having two actor parents has gifted him.

Born in Los Angeles, Jaesun’s family moved to Seoul when he was five years old. He attended the prestigious Seoul International School from elementary school until graduation. He thinks back to his school days: “I was American then, but I never really felt like it. Since I was so young when I moved, I don’t remember much of the country. It was my citizenship, not my identity.” In accordance with South Korean law, Jaesun renounced his American citizenship in favor of his Korean one shortly before his eighteenth birthday.

The other byproduct of his schooling is his flawless American English, presumably just as eloquent as his native Korean. He answers each interview question thoughtfully, taking no more than a beat or two to compose his answers. “Speaking multiple languages is important to being an idol,” Jaesun says. “It helps me connect to so many more people around the world. Of course, music does that anyway without needing to speak the same language. It’s still much more special to be able to communicate through conversations, like this one.”

summary: your first live performance with the biggest 4th generation k-pop group and you’re thrilled. but something their management haven’t told you before, and told you 10 minutes before the actual performance. you would have a screen time, as cameras would also show you on the screen. you also had practices without actual group, so neither them or you seen each other in real life.

a/n: came up with this concept while listening to murder on my mind covered by ravens rock. highly recommend you to listen to not shy covered by that kpop guitarist on youtube!

Preparing for the upcoming song that you will accompany with ITZY on their world tour, one of their managers rushed to you, breathing heavily, he’s definitely run to you in a rush.

You curiously looked at him, bowing, as he said. “You’re going to be shown on the screen, that means you need to interact with ITZY members on the stage. But concentrate on your own work, your target is to blow up this song. Good luck!” and he’s gone. You stood there, speechless, why they couldn’t have told you that before? Taking deep breaths, trying to calm down, you closed your eyes, before looking at the time.

“It’s time! Go, go, now!” their other manager yelled, as intro for their song is about to begin. When the lights were off, audience screamed, thrilled, you went on the stage. Your stage outfit was simple, yet daring. Over the knee boots, black tight dress and vinyl jacket. ITZY’s members already were on the stage, as they stood in their positions. As the intro ended, you started to play. Taking deep breaths, you closed your eyes, when cameras showed you on the big screens.

Ryujin looked at the one screen she could see, only to her jaw drop. She saw guitarist, nothing surprising, right? But they’ve been told that they would have a guitarist playing accompanying them on their ‘Not Shy’ song and nothing more. No practices with that person before actual tour, nothing. And Ryujin definitely haven’t expected their guitarist to be a girl, seemingly Yuna’s age.

Yeji could feel someone’s hitting her arm, wanting her attention. It was Ryujin, who told her to look at the screen. When she turned her head, her eyes wide opened, as she saw beautiful guitarist playing intro for ‘Not Shy’. She couldn’t take her eyes of you, drawing attention to her, as her other members looked at the same direction as Yeji did.

Chaeryeong could hear Yuna almost scream something like ‘that guitarist girl looks like we’re same age with her!’ when Lia just stared at you. It didn’t lasted long, as Yuna’s part came. She almost missed it, looking at you too long.

Starting their choreography, you had no idea how to interact with them, as you didn’t knew their choreography - have they changed it or not? If not, then there’s no way you would interact them for fan-service. Taking deep breath again, you decided to follow the moment.

When the chorus was about to start, Ryujin seemed to approach you, making you to dance with them. You seemingly were confused, immediately removing that expression from your face, calming yourself down. You perfectly fit in their choreo, when you stepped back to not distract them.

As Yeji’s verse came, she walked to you, looking directly in your eyes, winking. You chuckled, hoping that it wasn’t that obvious that you’re blushing. And of course, they showed that moment when Yeji winked at you and you smiling at her. Audience reaction was very positive, making them scream even more.

Playing last chords, they stood in their ending pose, making crowns with their hands. Lights went off on the back of the stage, allowing you to leave the stage, as you rushed backstage. Sighing, you sat on the chair, eyes closed, when their manager run to you, rubbing your shoulder. “You did a great job! You perfectly fit with girls on the stage.” he said, smiling at you. You muttered out several ‘thank you’, bowing, smiling satisfied. He also told you to stay a little and wait for them until they will close the show to make some photos with them to post on their Instagram.

You could hear girls saying goodbye’s to their fans, as two minutes later they were already backstage. Their manager near them told them something, that made them look at your direction, making their eyes lit up. Yuna said something, most likely ‘it’s her, that guitarist girl’ pointing at you excitedly, when Chaeryeong told her not to point at the people.

They walked to you, greeting and bowing at you, as you did the same. “Hi! It’s nice to finally meet you. I’m Y/N, that guitarist girl.” with your last words, you looked at Yuna, when she looked away, blushing a little. Other girls chuckled at her, introducing themselves after.

“Okay, let’s take photos and you can go!” their manager announced, making you stand in the middle. He took several photos, nodding his head, showing that you can finally go home. You were about to leave, when you felt someone handed you something. It was Ryujin, who handed you a piece of paper, obviously that was something written on it. She looked at you, winking and walking away, leaving you alone.

As you opened it, you could see a phone number and something else written down.

“You’re hot when you play on the guitar. Call me later ;)”

See I understand criticism of kpop industry as a whole and even individually producers but it really seems that a lot of those points are only brought up by people that hate said group/ their connection to bts 😭 like why do we have people saying they will never listen to nj while actively enjoying groups managed by park jinyoung and yang hyunsuk 😐😐

Like Ive youngest is only a year older than nj youngests and I saw nobody point that out!! I had to learn that stuff myself how are we gonna be againts minors in kpop but be so selective ://

ive got to refute this right off the bat bcs i have seen plenty of people pose these same criticism to other idols and groups for years ESPECIALLY those under jyp and yg. honestly i dont know what kind of rock youre living under if youve never seen these same criticism when just a few years ago the biggest conversation was yg's weird fixation on and control of jennie especially during solo, which made a lot of people really uncomfortable with the song. and then there was burning sun and that time everyone realized he groomed his wife...like yg especially is STRONLY disliked its why he left the company in the first place. which honestly leaves me confused as to the actual intent of you sending this ask...

also at its core i think the critisism around min hee jin have less to do with the girls' debut age or her having any individual scandals than her being behind the overt sexualization of newjeans' lyrics and how she uses controversy as a tool for their promotion. the biggest difference is that as far as i know groups like ive and lesserafim are not being this actively and openly groomed by their management . i cannot read the lyrics to cookie without feeling sick and i dont know how anyone could even listen to it, forget even try to trivialize it under the guise of defending a group of grown men under a whole other subagency...

NO ONE should be debuting under the age of 18 (and even then thats young), people are CONSTANTLY criticizing this practice despite how normalized it is. if your concerns around this water down to "its bcs theyre in hybe and people hate bts!" im sorry to say but you're a lost cause. i promise you not everything is about fanwars and your zealous defence for bts does not change the fact that what min hee jin does with newjeans enables and encourages child exploitation to a degree of blatancy that is not fucking normal or permissible in this day and age .

do you think the "ships" among kpop groups real or deliberate? for instance i watch a lot of ateez and as sweet as they are i sometimes get the feeling a lot of its put on for the camera, even down to the way the members act sexy with one another. like they cant act their normal selves and have to form shipmates with someone so their group will draw more fans in esp the delulus who "ship" them romantically. do you think the members actually like it or are annoyed by it? same with aegyo that they constantly have to do? imho its not particularly attractive like yes its sweet to see a guy in a boy group act sweet with another member or do aegyo for the fans but are they going to be doing it in their 30s? lol. yet the clips i have seen seem real but have the feeling like theyre not always an actual couple if that makes sense just something for the fans to latch onto and or fantasise about.

Ships and stuff like that are 90% media play, they might be idols that happen to be particularly close, but they know what fans like and try to push things in that direction. Those who do it, do it because they want to imo. Why do I think this? Because the idols who dislike it, don't join it as often or don't join it at all.

Think of Key and Minho, 15 years in their career and still going strong with their married couple antics. Do you think they wouldn't have stopped at this point if they wanted to? Them acting like that doesn't imply that they aren't close or that they are liars, on the contrary I think it actually proves that they're close and comfy enough with each other to be able to act like that on camera, but, at the same time, it's hard to believe they are always like that in their daily life.

The same goes for aegyo. Some idols do it often because they want to, there's no way a 30yo, ten years in their career, can still be manipulated by their company or forced by them. They do it because it's funny and they know fans think it's fun. It's more of a cultural thing I guess and aegyo exists in every form of entertainment in SK, not only for idols and it doesn't really have an age limit (they ask even foreign actors to do aegyo poses while they take pictures lmao). Again, I think it highly depends on each person, if they want to do it, they do it, if they don't want to do it, they won't do it.

It's probably another story for rookies or nugu groups where attracting the attention as much as possible is very important and companies tend to push certain roles into their idols (think of Jeongyeon being the girl crush at debut, she dropped that image because she wasn't comfy which shows that idols can abandon certain media play moves if they want to).

It's all fun I think, as long as fans are able to distinguish fanservice from reality (which they often aren't able to, to be fair).

If by "real", you meant them dating then again my impression is that no, they're not lmao First of all, dating a coworker is a very stupid choice. Second, they live in a highly conservative country, it would be a huge scandal and it would probably ruin their (and the group's) career. Third, assuming some were actually dating, personally I'd try my best not to make it obvious, so I would never appear all flirty on camera. Then yes, some might look extra sussy, but it's safer to assume they're friends trying to entertain, rather than thinking they're dating.

Jungkook is what people call a social butterfly; friendly with everyone, outgoing, charismatic. And you’re 100% sure his ex-girlfriend, Jihyun, would agree. You don’t hate the girl - she is a very talented kpop idol like Jungkook and you are, but you’re not supposed to like your partner’s ex, right? Or get along with them, in other cases.

Working for a different company has taken a toll already on your relationship with Jeon. It all started back in January at an after-party. Your company had very strict rules for all of their idols to prevent any fake relationship scandals. If you wanted to be friends with someone from another company, demonstrations of affection were entirely out of the picture, let alone hanging out together. So when Jungkook approached you that night, stating that he didn’t care about your company’s rules, you had decided to say “fuck it”, too - with alcohol in your system it was simple - and agreed to go out for coffee with him. In spite of that, you were practically forced to follow the rules your companies had set - not allowing you to be seen in public and arranging your “work meeting” somewhere else.

If it was difficult once, it became even more difficult when the connection between you two started growing and you wanted to date. Things became progressively better with time, the restrictions your company had set were slowly becoming less strict, and some were forgotten. Yet, 5 months into your relationship and you’ve been seen with Jungkook less than 7 times, even if now everyone knows about your relationship.

In the same way it has always been, you both had gotten a lot of hate; why were both of you dating people from other companies? What if that caused Jungkook to drop Big Hit and join your company? That hate felt almost one-sided. But there was love, too - two of the most powerful dancers and vocalists in a relationship, the adorable size difference… Head high and heart in hand, you pushed through and your relationship kept growing.

The thing you really can’t seem to get past is the rumors. All kinds of rumors. One month it’s Jungkook “crying” on stage because you broke up, next month your company releasing you because of your relationship with him, and so on.

But this month’s rumor has to be the worst - with the most terrible timing. Jungkook, three other K-pop idols, and you had been called to make a performance together for the MAMAs, something people weren’t expecting. He was more than excited since BTS’s schedule was finally freer, therefore leaving space for him to fit it into his agenda. The group’s energy and nervousness were high during the last week of rehearsals. There was a plan B, plan C, plan D even, for any emergency.

So the last thing you needed the day of the awards was for your boyfriend to be seen with his ex-girlfriend on the red carpet - going to the extent of taking pictures together. People were starting to doubt your relationship - once again - due to the lack of times you’ve been seen together, thinking it is forced or to benefit your companies.

“Have you seen the pictures of Jeon and Jihyun tonight, Miss Y/N?” A reporter’s question resounds between the millions of questions being thrown at you.

Do not stop smiling, Y/N. You’ll give them something to talk about.

Redirecting your focus to another person behind the cameras asking you to pose, you wink towards the camera and decide it’s enough, grabbing the tail of your dress and walking to the entrance of the building. When you’re out of sight, you lose the facade and groan, walking faster to locate your backstage area. The performance is one of the first to start the show - when you locate the area, you are immediately pulled in by the makeup artists so they can help you get into your outfit.

You know he’s already in the building. If the screams weren’t indicator enough, both your manager and Seohyun telling you that Jungkook is looking for you finish breaking the news. You brush both of them off with a “thanks, I’ll go to where he is”, but stay on your side of the stage. The performance is bound to start in 7 minutes…more than enough time for you to go talk to Jeon, but you don’t want to. Putting one airpod in, you play your performance’s track to rehearse a bit, lightly marking every step.

“Why are you so good even if you’re just marking?” A voice you recognize as belonging to your boyfriend speaks behind you.

Acting as if you can’t hear him, you replay the song and begin marking the steps again. This time, you do it with more intensity - nervousness has started to creep in. It’s the first time in a while you have been on stage with other idols and the expectations are high. They are all practically aces.

“You know I can see you only have one airpod in, right babe?”

Fuck. Pressing your lips together, you turn to him and give him a weak smile, followed by a shrug. The couple of minutes left you have start breathing on your shoulder. You hear the performance before yours finishing, you turn off your airpod and hand it to your assistant, same with your phone.

“Hi. Aren’t you supposed to be on the other side of the stage already?” you respond coldly, shrugging your sweater off.

It’s clear Jungkook isn’t expecting this attitude from you. You’re never like this, no matter the amount of anxiousness you are experiencing - normally sweet yet straight to the point so you don’t get distracted. He’s expecting you’ll reply to your assistant with the same biting tone when she asks you if you’re going to let your hair down, but when you reply with the sweetness he’s used to, he knows he fucked up. But he doesn’t know why.

When the time for him to go to his side of the stage arrives, he asks your assistant to walk with him to interrogate her and see if he can get any information. She seems pretty nervous - why is Jeon Jungkook talking to her? Who should she obey? He’s in a rush; if she spills the tea, she has to be brief. It’s with a long sigh and shaky hands that she lets him know the reason you’re upset.

“She saw the pictures of you and Ms. Jihyun on the red carpet. She has been on edge this week since there have been many rumors regarding your relationship… on top of that, there are people asking her if you broke up, who dumped who - and when she denies it, some people have the nerve to say things like ‘and you’re supposed to perform with him after that encounter?’ ‘sucks to be you’.”

He’s screwed. God, he’s such an idiot. He is not supposed to avoid Jihyun, it has never been an issue. But today? Yeah, today should have been an exception. He had heard about the rumors, yes.

You two hadn't had a chance to speak about them, or even dispel them by being seen together.

After he thanks your assistant, he is ushered to his spot on the side of the stage where he has to wait until his part, which is right before yours. Going through the steps in his head, he hopes with all he can that the performance turns out the way it’s supposed to - no accidents, no visible tension between you two, especially on that last bit where everyone will dance together and you have a small section with him.

Jackson’s piece was amazing. You cheer for him from your spot backstage and then the lights go down so they can transition from Jackson to Jungkook. You’re proud of him, of course, but the tight feeling in your chest won’t go away no matter what. You try to tell yourself it’s nervousness and not that - knowing Jihyun is in the audience cheering for your boyfriend and how that will make the rumors grow more.

“Grin and bear, it’ll be over soon and you can talk it out,” you tell yourself, focusing on how good of a dancer Jungkook is, while also being ready to step on stage the second you’re told to.

His part is coming to an end, so you step on your stage mark where the lights are still down, and get in position, back turned to the crowd and surrounded by a couple of backup dancers. The moment the music starts, you forget about all the tension from earlier. It’s just you and the rhythm. The swaying of your hips, the musicality you carry, the way your body flows freely and powerfully earn you loud cheering. In the last piece of your choreography, you turn to face the right side and roll your hips to the beat of the music, gesturing with your hands to the crowd to be louder, finishing with the ending pose.

“Grin and bear, it’s almost over…” You whisper to yourself again as the lights are turned off and redirected to the final member, Jungwon.

After his part, your section with Jungkook comes. The chemistry is always present and you hope it doesn’t seem forced after what happened. Dancing together may not be enough to completely clear off the rumors, but it’ll help. Shaking these thoughts off, you put your game face on and start strutting towards him, following the beat of the music. You’re pretty sure there’s a tiny scowl on your face because even if the crowd can’t see his expression, he seems frozen. You face the crowd and wink, then turn to him with a smirk and pull him by the collar where you sway together as the intro of the choreography.

He seems briefly relieved when you’re dancing all over him. But it hits him right then and there: you’re still pissed, and you’re just doing it for the crowd.

In the last seconds of the dance, Jungkook grabs your waist and pulls you back to him, like at the beginning of your section together. As you begrudgingly stare at him with pure love, despite your irritation, he grins lightly since he has to be discreet, and the music comes to an end seconds later. That - apparently - pulls you out of your trance; you pull away from him once your ending fairy is long enough. A bit breathless, you push your hair back and walk backstage, not waiting for Jungkook. The few people wandering around can sense you’re pissed - the few words of encouragement your ears are able to pick up are muttered in a shy, restrained tone. The door’s handle is within reach, but before you’re able to pull on it, someone grabs it and stops you from opening it.

“Uh, are you looking for your dressing room? This one’s mine…”

The words die in your throat once you turn around and realize your boyfriend is the one holding the handle, looking mad but blue at the same time. He is having second thoughts about something - he won’t let go of the door’s handle. You know him better than you know yourself, so it doesn’t take you by surprise when he hugs you tightly after you give him a meek nod and loosen your grip on the handle.

“We need to talk.” Both of you mumble at the same time, your words followed by a quiet giggle.

“Please, my darling, you go first. I want to know what’s going on in that pretty head of yours so we can talk it through.”

You try to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. Your boyfriend has always been very considerate and respectful of whatever it is that you’re feeling. Organizing your thoughts, you clear your throat.

“I saw the pictures of you and your ex tonight… So imagine my reaction when everyone starts talking about you and your ex on the red carpet while I had to go in by myself. And it hurts because we are rarely seen with each other because you are afraid of all the hate I'll get. But, Jungkook,” you step closer to him and grab his face with both hands, gently.

“I believe our love is bigger than that hate, and we will be able to push through. I would love for everyone to know about us more than the basic ‘oh yeah they’re together, we haven’t heard any news about them breaking up’. I want people to never doubt our love, give them reasons not to…” You trail off, the crack in your voice noticeable enough and not allowing you to keep going.

“I imagined that would be the problem. I know I fucked up, my love. My most sincere apologies, I didn’t think it would be misinterpreted. But I think of it now and the media manipulates shit and creates a totally different story. Jihyun is a good friend of mine and you know it, we discussed it. But I should prioritize you.”

He hasn’t stopped looking at you. He does this whenever he wants his message to really go through. Tears leave your eyes without a warning, and you direct your gaze to the floor, at which Jungkook tsks.

“Hey, no… Look at me with those beautiful eyes. That little look you gave me on stage, while I had you in my arms? Fuck, it was so hard for me to keep dancing and not take your breath away with a kiss. Then you looked all angry at me, and I knew right then and there I’d do everything I could to have you never look at me like that again.”

Standing on your tiptoes, you kiss him, hard. He’s taken aback by it, but he doesn’t hold back and kisses you back with all of his might. When you kiss, you feel as if you can touch and see the stars even with your eyes closed. Lips made to connect with each other, yet every kiss feels different, brand new.

He steps back after a while, reluctantly. You are leaning in to kiss him again, but he stops you with his words.

“Sure thing, angel. Let’s give them what they’ve been wanting to see.”

You feel the change that night. It's not just you and Jungkook, by yourselves - you walk hand-in-hand to the car that will take you to your hotel room since you’ve decided to skip the afterparty.

Park Gunwook and sexiness

So, someone reblogged my post and added these tags. I'd like to address them.

You haven't read all my recaps, clearly. I stated from the first that I personally don't find Park Gunwook sexy as he is too young for that. I don't think there's anyone on the show that I find "sexy."

In kpop, sexiness is a concept and a role. For example, in an interview with Kang Daniel, he said that he was the "sexy" one in his group -- he said that with a straight face, the way that someone might say they're the drummer or guitarist in a band. Nearly every kpop group has a "sexy" member. Exo has Kai, got7 had Jackson Wang, SKZ has Hyunjin. Even girl groups have a sexy member -- Red Velvet has Joy, and G-Idle had Soojin. When I say that they're the "sexy" member, I am not saying that I personally find them sexy (well, Kai, maybe...) I am saying that it's their job.

Park Gunwook is clearly going for that position, and it's working for him. Park Gunwook is "sexy" the way that Kim TaeRae is a main vocalist and Wang Zi Hao is a main dancer and Cai Jin Xin is a "visual." It's literally his position. This is one of the photos he posed for. He's GOING FOR THIS LOOK.

As for him being 18, Jeon Ho Young is also 18 -- he's just 6 or 7 weeks older than Gunwook -- and did the shirt lift in Burning Up. And they showed that on TV. They did instant replays of it. And the judges commented on his body. Should you be watching the show if you find that so offensive?

Also, he is NOT a minor in either my country or in Korea. Yes, in Korea the age of majority is 19, but in Korea, Gunwook would be considered 19, which makes him not a minor.

While I personally do not find Park Gunwook sexy, given (a) the nature of my recaps and (b) the nature of how Kpop works, I will use the word "sexy" in reference to what he's going for in this show, because it is an accurate description of his role. In fact, I called him Sexy Jellyfish throughout my early recaps, because that is his ROLE that he's GOING FOR. I don't leer over him, I have no intention of reaching out to him in real life in any way, but I will use that word because there is no other word that adequately expresses his role in a group.

I am saying this in all kindness: don't read my recaps if you can't handle the way I am talking about kpop and its realities. That goes for anyone else who cannot handle the words "Park Gunwook" and "sexy" in the same sentence.

Your anon who said about her LGB friends looking back at when they were kids, and they dressed gnc so their parents knew - I'm wondering whether a factor of that is more to do with fashion for kids has changed.

I grew up in the 90's/2000's and most of my clothes were gnc (only really party clothes weren't). This was normal. If you go further back still to my parents era, this applied even more. We talk about it all the time how 13 year olds now look older and dress older than I ever did. Look at what they've put young celebrities in (eg stranger things cast) compared to young celebrities 20, 30, 50 years ago! Especially with young girls - the hyper sexualisation has gone off the walls. Overalls, sweat pants, jeans have all been replaced by clothing that makes them look twice their age. There was a new Kpop group that debuted recently. The youngest member was 16, and she looked older than me and I'm in my late twenties.

Sure I had friends growing up who were 'super girly' but mostly we all ran around in comfy clothes to roll in the mud in.

hm i agree its even more sexualised now but i disagree that overall young celebrities werent sexualised back then.

these are just famous examples but young female celebs have been sexualised since forever and honestly, there was fewer barriers and they were more exploited when it did happen. at least now the media has SOME criticism of it when it happens. in the 2000s and before, male celebs would openly be dating underage girls and the media wouldnt even care for it & would glorify those relationships. 2 of the women i mentioned were cast as child prostitutes and sexualised heavily in the movies that got them known, one was even posing nude in hugh hefner's magazine as a 10 year old. these arent necessarily the worst examples but it shows enough for u to realise this issue was always concerning, just in different ways. comparatively this is millie bobby brown when she was 13:

besides i think when gay ppl say that, theyre referring to themselves as being more gnc than whatever the current gender norms are. i do think femininity nowadays has become even more restrictive compared to the more recent previous decades (which werent necessarily liberating either) tho and i do think a certain level of gender non-conformity was more stylish in certain years

#i think ur thinking of like ashley tisdale and some other disney stars at a specific point in the 2000s but #i feel like that was more of the outlier than girls being sexualised is
