Pip and Squeak (but fluffier)
(Still bringing my account here up to date - during this "era" of my art I didn't have much free time, so the quality may appear to drop. But I love my Snicket dogs so much that they must go here.)

just got these books from the library again
All the Wrong Questions is one of my favorite book series, and one thing just occurred to me. Pip and Squeak Bellerophon have to drive a taxi and no one seems to care that they are way underage.
BUT! They drive it together, and I don’t know their ages, but their ages mashed together could be old enough to drive! Like if Pip was 9 and Squeak was 7! It could be legal!
Just my tired brain making weird connections and having weird ideas.

What if Pip+Squeak crashed their dad’s taxi into the police car in ATWQ?? (Or maybe it was their dad who crashed and the injury he sustained in said crash is what he’s recovering from?) I am saying this bc both vehicles are dented so maybe they were damaged in the same accident…
[‘Evidence’ from ATWQ book 1 ‘Who Could That Be at This Hour?’]

*holds out microphone* what does being a witch actually entail
i mean. it depends what you mean by this but i'm guessing you mean 'what do witches actually do?' so here goes.
spells:
one thing that nearly all witches do is that we cast spells
these can be as simple as a sprig of lavender left under a pillow
or as complex as a huge sigil drawn over the ground and a bonfire and expensive, rare ingredients
essentially though, spells are you harnessing the energy of things around you to achieve a desired outcome
you don't even need ingredients tho – you can cast spells with just your mind (by channelling energy – i'll explain this later)
divination:
basically telling the future
sort of
a lot of the time it doesn't tell you What Will Happen so much as give you a vague idea of how you will be affected/how you should react – tarot cards and oracle cards do this
you can also use a pendulum for simple yes/no questions or to find something
the most important part of all of this as far as i can tell is energy, though.
energy is this pretty nebulous concept within witchcraft – no one can agree on what it is, how it works, whether it exists or not, etc etc
but what most of us do agree on is that it powers our spells
you can harness energy from a lot of different sources – yourself, the sun, the moon, nature, any living being, that sort of stuff (this part is up to you tbh)
so when you do a spell you are putting this energy into a vessel
for example, i like to charm my jewellery by channelling protective energy into it
anything else – all these 'correspondences' you see – is just additional
to explain – say you want to do a love spell. you could use any old rock for this, and channel your own energy with the love intention into it. but using rose quartz would make it easier for you to direct that energy where you want it to go
(correspondences are like obsidian = protection, lavender = sleep, sun water = vigour, that sort of stuff)
(correspondences aren't objective – there are widely accepted ones like rose quartz for love but you can still ignore those and make up your own lmao)
ok i hope that helped – if you have more questions ask away :)

I feel like if we could pick out a candidate for the Kind Editor from the characters of All The Wrong Questions, it should be the Bellerophon brothers. After all, it is canon that atwq is a series of accounts that Lemony sent to them.
Why Is This Night Different from All Other Nights?, Front Page/Chapter Thirteen
They have been trusted by Lemony to keep important documents safe even before then, as with the papers in Colonel Collophon’s room in When Did You See Her Last?, and swapping out the books in the library in Shouldn’t You Be in School?
Another thing is that Lemony is also known to send his editor(s) through wild goose chases to find his work on the Baudelaires in various different locations, something which is normally not on an editor’s work requirements (unless of course, they’re a VFD associate or smth). Pip and Squeak, of course, are taxi drivers, and with them being the only source of public transport in the town since a young age, l could imagine that those skills could be put to good use in retrieving things in unconventional places.
TLDR: Pip and Squeak are two sub-(sub?) librarians who love to read, and also has the means of travelling while being trustworthy of holding confidential information, as well as a history of helping Lemony Snicket with such tasks, thus making them likely to be the Kind Editor if we were to refer to the characters of All The Wrong Questions.

Me @ each and every one of the children in ASOUE/ATWQ: These poor kids. Sure they’ve messed up, but they’re children! With no stable parental/guardian figures! We can’t hold these actions against their character because they’re CHILDREN!
Me @ Stuart “Stew” Mitchum and everything he stands for: Horrible. Disgusting. Terrible man. Perish in a fire.
