Netflix needs to stop promoting ST as a teen show for season 5

#I remember seeing people all angry because s4 leant into the horror more #sir it has always been a horror/sci fi show #the horror is what makes the character-driven element so layered and compelling imo #I guess they advertise based on what garners they widest interest #(anyone remember what s3 promo season was like? sort of like that)#but I want them to go all out with s5 #the way they originally wanted the show to go #and for promo to reflect that #this is worded so poorly sorry #but it was always supposed to be directed toward older audiences and they were surprised to see the young audience it garnered too #stranger things #byler #<- target audience #st5 speculation #I’m not saying teens can’t watch and enjoy it #because tons of teens - my younger self included - love horror and can appreciate that element #but it’s not a teen drama show and some people treat it like it is #and act like there’s nothing to analyse or dig deeper into

I'm over people saying "give the live action a chance before you criticize it" like trailers are mostly a marketing tool to convince ppl to watch smth but they're also there to let viewers decide whether they think smth is worth their time. if people look at trailers & promo and decide they aren't gonna like it based on that that's no one's problem but the marketing team's

#like yes I'm a hater I've been a hater since the live action was announced #not gonna stop so I can give one episode a chance when I know it's gonna disappoint me lol #like ??? idk the idea of people watching promo materials and seeing what the people involved in the actual production are saying #and responding to those things with criticism and saying actually I don't think this is worth my time #isn't a problem #you're free to be annoyed with people's opinions but it's dumb to say they should wait to form opinions before actually watching the show #like that's not what promo material is supposed to let you do....#it'd be one thing if this were a new show entirely but it's not #also there's a probably white dude playing sokka & I have not and will never get over that so #ruins the whole show for me as a sokka stan lmao #(although even if he was native he's not impressing me - sorry should I wait to watch more before forming that opinion)

curious what you mean by don quixote, hong lu, and ryoushuu's promos? I vaguely remember them and I definitely think there's some elements that. Need to be talked about, but I don't want to miscontrue what you're trying to say about them.

To preface this it's entirely like my own theories and while there definitely could be foreshadowing (in sinclairs he's vaguing demian and Ishmael mentions 'if that bastards really dead than I have nothing left to chase after' (summarizing it) ). This is all a theory a ga-

I'm just very intrested in Don's because of how she reacts in it. On the actual limbus company site she has delusions of grandeur in hers (under particulars) and I really think that we'll eventually see how shee sees the city and the justice she wants vs how the city actually functions

For Hong Lu and Ryoshu they escape me both because I haven't read their source materials and because (moreso with hong lu) they're hiding themselves (ryoshu has her shure nice to meet you pun at the end of her promo vs Ishmael having something lore related in hers)

I can guess more about Ryōshū due to knowing the general plot of hell screen but can't say a lot on Hong Lu due to not fully getting tye plot of Dotrc (that and due to reading leviathan I can at least guess her beef with the fingers and how she sees art)

(For other sinners context rodion talks about wishing to undo things as easily as you can earn back lost money and how she just wanted everyone to feel some warmth, and outis talks about her oddest and how despite needing to go back she hasn't been able to take one step)

We haven’t even seen the episode yet but the point that they literally promoted the episode with BUDDIE not Madney for their wedding. Every single promo added more Buddie scenes than the next. And then go and cut the scene that they have literally promoted for three weeks. At the end of the last episode. That’s what’s not right. They can cut whatever they want, but don’t promote something so heavily and then cut it. It so obvious that they used Buddie to promote the episode.

#aotv spoilers #ok you’re asking for my opinions let’s do it #i love louis!!!! im so proud of him and im so happy i got to watch him on his journey for so long and can’t wait for what’s to come for him #and i think my love for him and for his music and for my time in the fandím and for one d etc is what makes this a good watch and why i #liked it because otherwise i have my reservations to the movie and im not going to get into the babygate stuff #apart from the fact that louis trying to get freddie to hug him was extremely awkward and ive never seen less organic thing than the beach #scene and i find it funny they tried to push that as organic so hard #my issue is that it just had a potential to be a much better film is all sksmsk #it is good but it feels a bit rushed and kind of cheap in some ways and i get that’s the style of these biopics sometimes but #like it was such a shame the bg music was not really gold and was always exaggeratedly emotional because it made it cheesy and cheap and #kind of forced #i think it would have a great potential to get many people to say wow this is a strong talented guy and i think it is a great intro but i #think they undersold the movie so it’s not going to have a chance to reach an audience much wider than his current fanbase which is a shame #for his current fanbase it is a solidification and reiteration of his promo season and it is very clear where they want louis to stand and #what they want his image to be like and i think it’s absolutely amazing how they managed to show his growth as an artist and as a human and #and place him in a position where he’s now confident and secure and ready to embark on a new journey etc. although for the fans there’s #nothing new there and i think it’s worth considering how exactly they’re portraying and that they completely left out his relationships #aside from his family and the band #i think it’s important that it was noted he was undersestimated and pushed down and i think they made obvious how much he’s worked on #himself #i think it’s kinda clear they’re using it as a faith in the future promo with the new songs even though the doc ends with the end of the #tour #i think it’s interesting how many rainbow flags they chose to include without addressing the way his shows and fanbase look at all because #if i were from Gp id wonder what’s up with that esp when he only acknowledged the kmm project again #generally i think it’s a good watch that’s very transparent in what it’s trying to do for louis promo and image wise and it doesn’t tell #you anything new but it reminds you why you love this man so much while also leaving you a bit disappointed because this had a much #greater cinematic potential and a lot of it feels either rushed or underfinanced or forced and that’s a shame

#idk about you guys but i find something deeply poetic in the fact that godfather and bottoms are like. in the same convo #rwrb got pushed to 10th place when i remembered that i did actually watch the godfather trilogy this summer #hate to give a coppola some credit but the godfather is a classic for a reason #it even kept my mum (the jane austen addict who hates blood and violence) invested and awake for the full run time #marry me with jlo and owen wilson got pushed down to 11 when i remembered die hard asdfghj #the ones who got away (2023 releases) are joy ride and scrapper. and aftersun. and past lives #if i have to pick a fave it's rye lane #it was just so iconic in every way #the script the visual story-telling the characters #the peckham of it all #also quite funny how obviously i gravitate towards a movie of colour #like. white people can make great art and i'll likely get to it #but i've spent a whole lifetime seeing those movies and now i'm gonna go out of my way #to make sure i watch all the movies of colour that interest me #polite society and they cloned tyrone and rye lane really just tick all the boxes for me #in terms of like. sci-fi/magical realism within the plot or the visual choices #i really mourn the lack of attention they got but i also know neither of them got a cinema release in sweden #and neither of them got any kind of substantial promo in sweden #so i can only assume it's a similar deal in other places #tragically enough

#i admittedly haven't seen warrior nun but it was on my to watch list once i finish for the holiday break #and it's really sad that yet another show focusing on wlw is gone #the wilds first kill warrior nun.. all gone this year #and what do they have in common?#oh.. a diverse cast with a lead wlw couple #what a surprise #it's really fucking depressing #once again we get no rep #once again we get zero promo the show does surprisingly well and people go 'eh nah we don't need that show'#and it's so hard bc how do i get attached to a show when i just know deep down the big powerful streaming site will cancel it #and i'll be entirely honest #that's a big reason why i've procrastinated watching warrior nun bc i was scared it would go this way #and i didn't want to get attatched #warrior nun
