I have some enamel wear on a front bottom tooth from braces, and at the dentist they asked about sensitivity and I said that that one was just a teeny bit sensitive so my dentist convinced me to do a dental bonding it. Even showed me how great her teeth looked to sell it. I didn't want to be like "Oh no thank you" after she showed me her teeth, so I did it
That was yesterday and I've been thinking nonstop, "What if it falls out on me? Why did I do that when I'm losing health insurance so soon? What if it looks worse underneath now and I can't afford to fix it? Why did I do this unnecessary thing that I now have to be responsible for for the rest of my life?"
Well, it just fell out as I was eating and it Does in fact look worse than before
“One of the most solid pieces of writing advice I know is in fact intended for dancers – you can find it in the choreographer Martha Graham’s biography. But it relaxes me in front of my laptop the same way I imagine it might induce a young dancer to breathe deeply and wiggle their fingers and toes. Graham writes: ‘There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.’”
I was just woken up to the sound of something crashing and since Libby was with me, I knew it was Cody. I just wanted to go back to sleep but needed to make sure nothing had fallen on him. So I walked into the living room in the dark and didn't see anything big tipped over, but I saw his shape completely still on the ground. since Cody usually always comes up to greet me, I reached down to touch him and whispered, "Hey bud, you okay?" and the shape of a mouse shot past my feet and he shot towards it and I screamed like the Tom & Jerry lady and ran back to my room
the bad news: I've acquired my first adult tooth cavity. the good news: the dentist figured out how to squeeze me in for a filling before I lose my insurance.
when you keep yourself small all the time (swallowing the words you want to say, seeing everybody else as though they’re automatically above you, downplaying your feelings and achievements), the entire world will constantly be looming over you. that’s not the way to live your life. you’re supposed to be experiencing it, not be subjected to it. (this is your sign to take up more space)
I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.
