Saw someone say they liked Tomie as a character but hated the fact that she killed people who didn't "deserve" it, as they believed it to be lazy writing. To this I have to wonder, how can that person claim to like Tomie if all they want is to constantly feel in the right while reading the story?

There's a reason why Tomie is part of a horror story and not just a common anti-hero/vigilante trope. Characters like her aren't there to stroke the reader's moral fancy as they kill the evil, no good, bad baddies. They exist for the sake of it, outside the outskirts of morality, they don't follow anything other than their own whims and schemes, and that is precisely what makes them both uncomfortable and *interesting* to read!

It's fine to dislike this aspect of her character, but to call it shallow because she's not "punishing the evildoers" is just an excuse. Might as well say that you don't know how to deal with morally dubious characters and that you need the story to constantly make you feel superior and righteous. Might as well say you dislike Tomie as whole, actually.

You know I didn't expect to actually befriend people in fashion school, cuz I just applied for a short course, so I bet most people are just minding their own business, not to mention I'm sure people have already formed their friend groups and are less likely to accept new people, which is a sad reality I have to accept.

And outside of my little friend group, I'm actually pretty shy and a bit of a loner. I'm also quiet but am bubbly/friendly once you talk to me.

So imagine my surprise when I randomly got invited for lunch by a stylish friend group, like a main character moment and got deep into a conversation with someone who is not only a fellow weeb, but also someone who shares my unpopular. fandom. opinions??!!!!?

#it was really embarrassing #like I said I wasn’t really anti anime I was just kinda anti wee #anime was literally one of my first and longest hyperfixtations #I kid you not I hyperfixtated on anime for 4 years #it wasn’t until I started growing out of it and I started encountering REALLY toxic people in the fandom #so for like a year I would say I kinda went through a phase where I didn’t want anything to with anime #and would make memes about how I hated anime and stuff like that #then around late 2020 I started getting back into it with DMC and Junji Ito #Jinmen and Metamorphosis were my faves at the time

His absolute panic and worry about his friends, and his desperation to find something to save them. The fact that, even in his awful state, his mind is still running full force, and he’s still trying to solve the puzzle and come up with a solution.

And then there's his scene with Scott, because Scott is right, they do have to tell her, but Stiles is soooo worried about losing her to Peter, and I just...baby no. Do you really think she'd leave you like that? I don't think she'd leave you like that. I really like to think that she would be loyal to you and trust you LONG before she trusted Peter, regardless of how manipulative he tries to be. But he's SO worried about it and I just...

AND THEN HIS SCENE WITH MALIA!

He's just so gentle with her when he wakes her up, and his voice is so soft and comforting, and he just takes off his jacket and gives it to her with literally no preamble.

AND THEN THE LITTLE HANDHOLD!! AND THE WAY HE SAYS THE SAME THING SHE SAID TO HIM IN THE CAR EARLIER IN THE SEASON!

"You're coming back, right?" "Yeah. I'd never leave you behind."

AND THEN THE LITTLE FOREHEAD KISS!

AND THE LAST LOOK AT HER!

HE'S SO WORRIED I CANNOT!!!

And then bonus points for how close Kira's staying to Scott, and how she's just embracing him and basically holding him up and not letting him out of her sight, because she's equally worried.
