i Need you to understand that i am just a simple little digimon redemption machine
the squeaky lil gazimon that serve etemon on the server continent? get those critters some beef jerky and cat toys
devimon from adventure? that's a friend waiting to happen
i see milleniummon and i go "that's a friend right there, get the lads some fruit salad"
kurata can suffer in digihell but i'll take his gizmon, they're cute
i just think they're neat
-sky
#kinstuff#sky#devi#this is a little bit kinstuff/exomemory stuff a little bit just I Think They're Neat Marge Meme#our brother got us a crest of destiny necklace five years ago and i've been forever changed /hj#but like seriously the idea of rebirth is so common in the digital world#sometimes they flirt with the idea of “bad” digimon dying and coming back reformed#(see: cherubimon in frontiers; the whole gulusgammamon thing; devimon in adventure 2020; i'm blanking on the other example i thought of lol#(WAIT IMPMON DUH)#and morality is sometimes complex in digital antagonists#(ogremon my beloved and again: impmon; savers also had some of this iirc but it's been a while since we watched that one)#but like Pure Evil entities in a series that started off as a v-pet about caring for something that relies on you for everything#hits hard for some reason (could be the childhood trauma /hj)#the easy way out would be reformatting#letting the world completely change who you are and erasing the parts that made you evil#at the cost of losing yourself and maybe even forgetting what made you want to destroy the world in the first place#maybe it really did need to change and letting it kill and assimilate you isn't the right thing#but the idea of villainmons getting a chance to be better and actually taking it#some of the mons really didn't have any motivation beyond “cause mayhem and destruction” but then#milleniummon at least had some kind of yearning in its heart that drove it to act out (iirc; i've only read a summary of the ws games lol)#i think it's also interesting to consider this in the context of series where death has little meaning#digimon whose violence is relegated to the digital world like devimon or etemon#who become part of this unending cycle beyond simply the phases of homeostasis (can't think of a better way to word it)#there is no end to their damage because they do not threaten the digital world in a way that disrupts it beyond the disturbance of individu#in a system where death has no meaning what reason is there to act kind when you have received no kindness yourself?#idk#apocalymon deserved an actual pizza y'all#(i haven't gotten far in my first watch of adventure subbed)#also ghost game got so close to doing something nice for milleniummon#i know it's supposed to be one of the many personified apocalypses but like

You know I actually never realized this before-- so you remember how tri. retconned Original Chosen fighting and defeating Apocalymon into them fighting the Dark Masters instead? (To be fair it is possible they could've ALSO fought Apocalymon afterwards but that isn't the Epic Final Showdown tri. decided to depict so it's borderline a retcon)
If the Original 5 Chosen fought and defeated the Dark Masters once in the distant past, doesn't that mean that
A) They survived and hid for just a few thousand years until they came back for a Round 2 at conquering the world
B) They died, were reborn, and THEN went for the Round 2
You know I've just DYING with curiosity, desperately wanting to know if any of the villians in Adventure would ever be reborn after Adventure, right. Because according to the lore they should, right (unless their data was like somehow absorbed by Apocalymon and destroyed along with him (though that would still leave Piemon as an exception (and Vamdemon but we all know what happened to him) and the sole survivor))
And what tri. has essentially done is confirm that most of them should, in fact, be reborn sooner or later
But that just raises the question of if Apocalymon was lowkey driving the Dark Masters nuts (as suggested by the novels), and if tri. was kind of about destroying the last remnants of Apocalymon's data (within Meicoomon), if they were reborn this time would they be free of Apocalymon's influence
If so, would their third (?) lives then turn out different? Would they still try to take over the world all over again for funsies (this time just without Apocalymon giving them power etc), or were they just the same as Ken was in Zero Two? I mean Apocalymon was supposed to be a spawn of Milleniummon and Ken was infected with Mille's malice directly, so while it may have been a bit filtered it was still the same source of malice and corruption, right
And like regardless of how their next lives would turn out, shouldn't the kids (OR AT THE VERY FUCKING LEAST GENNAI) like realize that this is going to happen eventually and like. Go and see if they can find them (either as their pre-Ultimate forms or even when they're still in their Eggs) and try to figure out what to do BEFORE shit hits the fan
I JUST

#Sorry I'm rewatching the second half of Adventure while working (it improves my focus actually) and#Oh the brainworms are real#Text post#I'm sorry I'm just thinking about Pinocchimon. My sweet poor murder child just needed friends 😭#But even if he was reborn without the craving for blood- who would be friends with him. After all he did in his past life#Who would want to be friends with him. Who would forgive him#IS HE GONNA BE DOOMED TO BE ALONE FOREVER. I'M 😭😭😭#Meanwhile for all we know Piemon is still stuck in that other dimension 10 years later lmao#Depending on if tri.'s reboot ever affected him at all or not because god fucking knows we'll never find out#(Or if he even COULD be affected by the reboot to begin with. God knows Wizarmon seemed to be fucking IMMUNE to it)#(Even though it was supposed to reset EVERYBODY)#But also that could have horrifying implications too if Piemon was just left to cook overnight with a part of Apocalymon#Like Apocalymon is just a collection of grudge and hate from Digimon who've gone extinct right#What's stopping that part of Apocalymon from just restarting the collection of hatred and grudge all over again#This time using Piemon as a vessel to just contain it#Like Apocalymon came from beyond the Wall of Fire to begin with so it's not like dimensional barriers should stop him either#I mean the good news is that there probably haven't been that many Digimon species that've gone extinct after Adventure#But still kids. Y'all might have a timebomb on your hands#Edited to remove some of excessive cursing lmao. I was feeling very intense when writing this sorry lmao

Crazy thought. What if we got a Jogress in the final movie connecting one of the first season Digidestined to the second season?
Tumblr media
Hear me out. Omegamon is the main heroic figure-strongest figure so far yes?
So Taichi and Yamato would be excluded because they are already from the same generation.
So that would leave Jou, Mimi, Sora, and Koushirou.
I think they would be paired with if it came to Jogress Daisuke, Ken, Miyako, and Iori.
I’m sure Ken would be paired with Sora because of her motherly kindness.
Miyako would be paired with Mimi because they are basically nearly sisters who are sensitive and headstrong.
Iori would be paired with Koushirou as both are curious and have values.
Daisuke would be paired with Jou because he needs discipline and can’t be relied on if his life is out of whack.
Yes, that is all of them to be paired from the two generations.
You’re giving me that look again.
What, you’d think I’d forget about them? And you want to know why I didn’t include Takeru and Hikari in this?
Well my friend that’s the best part! They are both from the older generation AND the newer. I think that they could finally become jogress partners this way. I mean you always see it. Takeru supports her and she confides and supports him. But that’s not all. Hikari helps Takeru stay on track to what’s going on around when he agonizes about losing Patamon.and Takeru helps Hikari maintain a positive outlook in life when she gets down on herself.
Tumblr media
Since they are both from the first and second seasons what a finish to the Digimon Adventure series if we saw this Jogress to defeat the ultimate evil Digimon that they could connect between all their adventures.
Tumblr media
Imagine if they took the spot light again together. Imagine a jogress so powerful it would one shot a viral Digimon or even rip through space and time to reach an arch villain.
Perhaps even…Milleniummon? And hey, why not a guest Digidestined like Ryou to finish off the movie, but have the focus on these two?
And maybe we can see some canon romance because the Digidestined as they are after all adults?
Maybe meet the non Digidestined spouses? Or maybe-just maybe get surprised with a Takari canon ending.
It’s probably going to be another three years for the movie, but what a finale THAT would be!
Tumblr media
Is it so crazy though? If we look between the lines of what is not seen you can kind of see it…right?
Tumblr media
………….
RIGHT?
I know I can…

for @digiweek 22, day four (drama)!
my topic of today is not, in fact, decode, but rather tamers. specifically: ryou and cyberdramon. ( @digi-noir, you’ll like this post)
now, you may be asking, “simon, how is that sad?” well, since i am the chief of Thinking About Ryou And Cyberdramon And Being Sad, let me explain to you.
Fact: at the end of the Brave Tamer game, after defeating Milleniummon, Ryou gets thrown to another world. It’s confirmed within Tamers anime that Ryou is amnesiac, and likely does not remember anything from the events of before his entering the Tamers universe. Therefore, we can extrapolate that Ryou, an amnesiac, likely had struggles trying to integrate into this world he does not remember, with parents, friends, and an entire life he likely does not remember.
Fact: Cyberdramon is the result of a jogress between Milleniummon and Monodramon; said jogress turns into an egg, out of which hatches a Ketomon that becomes the Cyberdramon we know and love today. Cyberdramon canonically does not have Milleniummon or Monodramon’s memories; he is his own person. However, it can be assumed that, due to being made of Milleniummon’s data (as well as Monodramon’s), Cyberdramon likely has a similar connection with Ryou that exists between, say, Taichi and Agumon -- that is, the connection of a Chosen Child and their fated Digimon partner.
Fact: in one of the Tamers audio dramas, it’s revealed that Ryou entered the Digital World when a digital field opens up, and Cyberdramon cannot cross into the human world. It’s also implied that Ryou spent at least 8 months in the digital world with Cyberdramon, since when told the date by Ruki, Hirokazu, and Kenta, he remarks that it’d been “almost a year” since he entered the Digital World (though my memory may be off slightly). It’s also canon that Ryou and Cyberdramon have been constantly moving, as Cyberdramon feels compelled to fight other digimon. The above-mentioned audio drama confirms that Cyberdramon feels compelled to do this due to a desire to protect Ryou, which manifests as attempting to remove any threats.
Therefore, with this information in mind: we can assume that Ryou awoke in the world, amnesiac with no knowledge or familiarity with much, if anything at all. We can also assume that Cyberdramon, born in the digital world, felt a need to search for Ryou without knowing why or who he was actually searching for (as implied of what happens when a digimon does not meet their Chosen Child, by Tailmon’s account in the Odaiba Arc of Adventure). We can assume that Ryou also went to the digital world because of this connection (left over from Milleniummon and Ryou’s original home dimension). We can assume that Ryou and Cyberdramon were each other’s only consistent company for about eight months, and we know canonically that Cyberdramon was incredibly protective of Ryou, and that Ryou eventually saw things such as a possible death as no big deal (evidenced by his lack of worry regarding Knightmon possibly beheading him, within the Tamers anime). We also know that Ryou’s first introduction back to the human world was when he had to fight for his life and the lives of others due to the D-Reaper’s presence.
To summarize: Ryou gets amnesia, he and his soul-bonded dragon Cyberdramon end up meeting, Ryou goes to Digital World, full of monsters, and ends up finding home there with said dragon. Cyberdramon fights frequently because he wants to keep Ryou alive, while Ryou eventually finds nothing upsetting about the threat of death. Ryou’s first time in the human world in months is one where he has to fight for his life. When the evil is defeated, Ryou is forcibly separated from Cyberdramon, his partner by soul and also by choice at this point. In a short time, Ryou is ripped away from the one person he’s closest two, the home he’s lived in for the past months, and is expected to slot right into human society perfectly.
And that’s not even mentioning the whole deal that happens to Ryou beforehand in the games, when he’s still Adventureverse Ryou rather than Tamers Ryou (very important distinctions, I assure you). Is that not tragic?

Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer: Veedramon version - Final thoughts
Wow, what a compact little game! I guess that's pretty typical for a handheld, licensed game. This one took me around 15 hours to beat in a single week. Nice. I think gameplay-wise this was actually my favorite so far. I really enjoyed the tactical RPG battle system. It forced me to strategize a bit, so there was juuust enough challenge to make things feel satisfying. Probably doesn't have a lot of replay value, but I'd recommend giving this one a try! (Especially if you're a fan of the original anime because it takes place immediately after it).
Notes:
-I was kind of surprised that most of the bosses in this game were push overs. The guide I was following hyped me up for them and then the majority of them only took me one try. Even the final boss was pretty easy and left me thinking "that's it?"
-Similar to Digimon World 2, this game didn't really motivate me to tame anymore digimon than I needed. The game actually just gives you digimon as you go along and those suited me fine.
-Weirdly this game doesn't really feature digivolution in the traditional sense and, aside from the boss digimon, the partner digis only go up to champion. I kind of appreciated the simplicity of this. I also thought it was clever that the digimon could psuedo-digivolve via the variables. That actually made a lot of sense because digivolutions in the anime are like temporary summons anyway.
-In honor of the V-Tamer 01 manga, I got a Veedramon and named it Zero. He ended up being my strongest partner.
-I still think the story was kinda lackluster. Ryo is just borrowing his digivice and his partner digimon and at the end they're all like "See ya! We're gonna go back to our REAL partners that we like more than you" lol. Also, toxic masculinity Tentomon made me sad:
Tumblr media
-Side note: this game's font is terrible. Look at those nearly identical ls and exclamation points!
-Millenniumon low key looks like a Xenomorph in his portrait.
-I'm not going to play Cathode tamer because it's essentially the same game and I've also decided to not do the 4 bonus dungeons. My reasoning is that they don't really seem worth it. It's cool that you can tame the bosses, but one of the hidden dungeons requires you to complete the Digimon Analyzer which I believe requires you to link the games? I guess I could cheat to get to that point, but it still doesn't really seem worth the trouble. If it added to the story maybe, but based on what I've seen on YouTube, it doesn't.
-Loved all of the art so much! Not just in the story bits, but the variables and the digimon sprites were all great. More charming than the PS1 3D versions for sure. The world itself and the battle grounds were a little bland and repetitive, but I liked the designs of the boss dungeons (see the Milleniummon one above). Anything's better than the horrible Digimon World 2 dungeons!
-Just as I expected, I really didn't bother with or need a lot of the extra stuff in this game. A lot of the buildings in town I went into maybe once or twice. I never used Penguinmon trading, Piximon training, Leomon colosseum, or the digimon analyzer. I didn't bother expanding the amount of digimon I could carry via Nanimon because I didn't need anymore digimon. If I had access to this game in the 90s and had my unlimited kid free time, I might explore these features more, but I don't care to do so now. I've got a zillion more Digimon video games to get through!
-I'm trying not to spoil myself for future franchise entries, but it sounds like Ryo will return in other games. I hope he gets justice for his blah storyline then.

I keep seeing mentions of these "Cycle" things. Sorry if you've already answered this but what are they?
Oh, "Cycles" are calendar eras, in the same way BCE/CE or BC/AD are in our world. Right now, there have been three Cycles, and the Digital World is currently in the Third Cycle. Historically, a cycle is said to have ended when there is a massive, world-shattering cataclysm. The First Cycle ended during the Great Sealing, and the Second Cycle ended during the Milleniummon War. A new cycle begins in the aftermath.
While in many human cultures, time is seen as linear, time in the Digital World is seen as cyclical, which is why they're termed "cycles". This is because of the life cycle of Digimon being that of birth, evolution, death, and rebirth. Rather than having a finite beginning and ending, the Digital World is also seen as being in a constant cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth. Part of that is just from how Digimon are, and part of it has to do with having to adapt to these catastrophes.
I hope that helps!

Not sure about the kind of bosses I want Gabriel to be using. Gonna want to use random mons like in Tamers for freak of the week stuff. But I was thinking maybe for the first boss it could be like Kimeramon (maybe MarineKimeramon). Then afterwards while we have more Ultimates, Gabriel can be building Machinedramon, maybe even Milleniummon as a penultimate boss. Eosmon (Mega) should be the Gabriel's finale since the butterfly and it was strong enough to waste Omnimon in Kizuna. True final boss still pending. Like I already can imagine how the Kimeramon fight can go. Marinette already has access to HolyScarabmon but Adrien still being Noirmon is kind of dragging her down. She'll get hurt and he'll digivolve to WhiteNoirmon. He goes on a rampage like Machinedramon vs DanDevimon, the other kids that have mons will try to stall Kimeramon while Marinette appeals to him. He'll slide evolve to MetalNoirmon and with everyone's help build up a big enough Cataclysm to destroy Kimeramon.
Oooh that sounds cool! I especially like Milleniummon being the penultimate boss, he makes for a great villain, especially with his time travel powers (still annoyed they apparently cut those for the Digimon Adventure reboot).

Plot to Digimon AU
Just realised i need to write the plot out or the characters wont make sense xd. I cant write stories in detail so this will be like a extended summary i guess. Will write KH AU and the combined AU in another post.
Digital World and Real World are separate. Lucemon decides to create Chimeramon which goes rogue and evolves to Millleniummon. Yggdrasil orders the Royal Knights to kill Milleniummon. Lucemon wants the Demon Lords to stop the Knights. Big fight happens and the barrier between worlds are broken. Digimons gets yeeted to the Real World incluing some of the Royal Knights and Demon Lords. Due to some reason (aka plot magic) Beelzemon and Alphamon gets turned into humans. They try to survive in the Real World while trying to send Digimons back to the Digital World. Gets human partners along the way. Meets Yura and finds out even other servers in the Digital World are affected. Belle shows up and wants to kill Ryou cuz revenge. Eventually they have to go back to the Digital World cuz things are getting worse. They meet the Royal Knights and find out they managed to kill Milleniummon but the Digital World is still becoming more unstable. Eventually they find MoonMilleniummon corrupting the Digital World, the Demon Lords stops them from killing MoonMilleniummon, Lucemon wants to use MoonMilleniummon as a weapon to invade and rule the Real World. They fight the Demon Lords and Lucemon nearly kills Chizuru. Beelzemon gets The Big Mad and becomes The Beast of the Apocalyse. Lucemon steals the sins of the Demon Lords to transform into his Shadowlord Mode and kills The Beast of the Apocalyse. The kids + Alphamon and Dianamon retreat, they think Beelzemon is dead. He actually lost his powers and devolved to Impmon since Lucemon took his sin. MoonMilleniummon manages to Digivolve into ZeedMilleniummon and starts destroying the Digital World. The Royal Knights tries to stop ZeedMilleniummon but fails. BelleStarrmon finds Impmon but instead of killing him she brings him back to Chizuru. Impmon manages to convince Lucemon to stop ZeedMilleniummon and give him his sin back. Final battle against ZeedMilleniummon happens and they defeat him (idk how, with the power of love and friendship?) but the Digital Worlds been too damaged that its going to crash and shut down. Beelzemon, Alphamon and Dianamon manage to send Chizuru, Makoto and Sayu back to the Real World before the shutdown, trapping themselves in the Digital World. The kids are sad and try to go back to the Digital World but are unable to and they move on.
You can tell which parts I've thought on alot xd. I'll come back and update/edit once ive figured out more plot points.

“Tag Tamers” has finally been completely translated to English, by Ajora Fravashi and NikcDC from Romhacking net. Yep, the game that’s basically Ken’s and Wormmon’s backstory for Adventure 02. If anyone is interested in playing it, the link is the second one in the description of this video.
Yes, it’s a Spanish video, but that’s how I found out. I’ll probably make a Let’s Play of it in this blog in a couple weeks.

To be fair I haven't paid the best attention to the promo info for the new movie (if I do watch it I would like to go in knowing little-ish), but I did kind of get the impression that the First Chosen was meant to like. Not a retcon of Daigo's group but to be like, a plot twist chosen who somehow predated Daigo's group by having been chosen To Do A Thing before them? But hey I might be just behind on the info there
(It would be kind of funny though if Toei did lowkey retcon tri., after all the Zero Two retconning the fandom went on and on about pre-tri.)
Regardless, I do kind of prefer to look at Adventure's lore in a bubble and borrow as little as possible from the other franchise entries anyways because. Man. The lore can get really messy and hard to keep up with, and sometimes you simply might not even like a particular lore addition some entry might make
Like I was literally just reminded by a friend that the villians did get revived in the Wonderswan games and while there may be some cloning and/or timetravel shenannigans in some cases, in theory the revived villians should be the exact same ones from Adventure (including Vamdemon, which makes no sense since he was supposed to be hanging out with Oikawa). Which (as far as my original post goes) would probably mean that unless we could pin down the villians being naughty boys even when revived on Milleniummon (as in, he was infecting them when reviving them with his malice), then they would be just inherently evil Digimon, doomed to do evil things forever because that's just what they are
But in the end it kind of doesn't matter what which lore bit from what entry could imply, because all of this stuff is like. Things Toei is never going to explore in a story. Like it's understandable why, but in the end Toei is exclusively interested in making new entries to the Adventure-franchise if they're centered around the kids one way or another (even if they aren't kids anymore). And what I want to know more about is the potential stories about some of these Digimon, and not just the villains (what might happen with them if they were to be reborn and/or how they ended up the way they did to begin with). I would love to have a story about Wizarmon and His Whole Deal. I would love to see Leomon and Orgemon get married finally. I'd love to see what all the minor Digimon characters are up to and how they're doing. But we're not going to ever see that. And it makes me sad. Because there's so many interesting stories you could tell with/about these characters, but unless you can make it about the kids with a big epic showdown, it's not gonna happen.
