Finished up a whole digimon Tamer today! So I wanted to post him with his digimon partner!

Damian Greyson is a 14-year-old Florida resident who just enjoys being alive. He's not great at school, but he's not awful either. He tends to roll with whatever comes his way, but does love the occasional challenge. Both of his parents served in active duty army service, but after the death of his father overseas, his mother settled back down in their home state for some needed stability.

Greyson isn't all that social, but has managed to keep a close group of friends, all of them digimon Tamers like himself. While greyson himself is a pretty relaxed sort, his partner digimon, Renegade, is a rambunctious hungry dinosaur who's always looking for a scuffle. The two balance each other out really well, and they can always count on each other, as well as their friends and family for the support they need.

Greyson holds in his digivice the conduit of honor, a sort of virtue of great power he can draw on to power up his partner, allowing him to digivolve. As is appropriate to his crest, greyson is a straightforward person. He has a very clear set of moral standards, and any action he takes, you can be sure he weighed it against those morals before acting.

Renegade the Agumon(blk) is a loud and rambunctious digimon. Always ready to scuffle, he'll never turn down a sparring match against anyone he sees as a challenge. He'll never fight anyone weaker than him, however. Being an honorable digimon, renegade believes that while combat is fun, honor lies solely in the people you can protect, not in the act of fighting to protect them. He's therefore not above using cheap tricks and tactics to gain an upper hand, especially if he's fighting to protect someone. His sword is something he's always had on him since he turned rookie. He treasures is dearly, and will always speak to greyson's human friend, Vivian, to repair it if it breaks or chips.

When renegade digivolves into his champion form, Sabergreymon, he becomes noticeably more animalistic. In this state he becomes much more aggressive, utilizing every blade on his body to deal massive damage to any enemies he faces. The blade at the end of his tail is built into a swivel, allowing him to turn the blade independently of the tail, to hack and slash from any angle.

Both greyson and renegade tapped into an inner anger when their friends were injured, allowing renegade to digivolve into his ultimate form, Berzerkergreymon. In this form, renegade gains the power of flight through the use of 6 fire-like wings, similar to those found on the back of metalgreymon. In this form, renegade wields a massive jagged blade with all the fury of a dragon, refusing to let up until the opponent in front of him has been cut to ribbons.

Having harnessed that inner rage and learned to focus and direct it at those who would destroy two worlds, greyson harnessed the true power of the conduit of honor, allowing renegade to reach his mega form, Paladingreymon. While tall and formidable, renegade retains the same sense of honor he has always held. Both the armor and his sword are designed with the intent to fight unfairly, utilizing the many spikes to deal damage in tandem with his sword. The sword itself was a gift from the injured royal knight, omnimon. Utilizing his sword data, the Digimon Tamer Vivian created what she calls the omni-sword 2.0, and gifted it to renegade and greyson.

The omni-sword 2.0 is reminiscent of the sword wielded by the founder of the royal knights, inperialdramon paladin mode. However, some key differences include shorter guards, and spines near the base of the blade, designed to catch opponents' weapons and rip them from their grasp, of not outright break them. This sword is perfectly suited to Paladingreymon, as he will often use the spines against armed opponents to grab their weapons and pull them in, making them vulnerable to a spiked armor assault.

So the original plan for this month's Fifth Review was to cover the Adventure 02 movie, but it's such a thick soup of a film to sift through that I want to wait until I can pause and write my thoughts before trying to tackle it, like I did with Kizuna. But I'm still in a Digimon mood, so let's talk about some DigiXroses I designed. Again.

As, like, the only person who cares about DigiXroses mechanically, I've realized that DigiXroses have a rule of 7. If you look across all the Xroses you'll notice A) that no Digimon splits into more than 7 parts when forming a Xros, and B) no DigiXros is made up of more than 7 Digimon. Just a fun thing to note for when I eventually convince someone else to design one of these, themselves.

As for what I have to offer today, we have a new partner and Xros for the existing 2010 Greymon design; BoostKabuterimon and RizeGreymon Ver.Xros, designed by me and drawn by @/Ochistrikitu.

To be quicker than usual, I went with a Kabuterimon because Greymon's other partner is a Birdramon, and because I thought I could easily utilize the horn as a detail.

And while I didn't get them commissioned, I did design a second partner and evolution for this set in Tankdramon Ver.Xros and ShineGreymon Ver.Xros. I did break my rule for this, but I did this a while ago before I realized it was a thing. Anyway, I chose Tankdramon because of Darkdramon's rivalry with ShineGreymon, and because his shapes are perfect for DigiXrosing. I do want to tweak this design a bit if I ever do get it commissioned; just have a folding bar across the shoulders to make it seven pieces and redesign the chin/hood.

I mostly wanted to do this in prep for future projects, mostly I want to do a WaruMonzaemon that combines with the existing MetalGreymon 2010 to form a WarGreymon. I'm just waiting to get the Xros Figure of MailBirdramon so I can perfectly understand how that combination works to do it justice.

Overall, I hope you like them. Not much else to say apart from that. I'm working on a few other DigiXros projects that'll eventually make their way here. And, as always, I hope either this or a future project will inspire someone to try designing a DigiXros themselves, as I'd love to see other people's takes.

And we end the final art portion, and post of MetalGreyMonth with, oddly, RizeGreymon. Those familiar (or saw last week's post) will know that this is my second attempt at designing a Xros Wars Style RizeGreymon. The general combination is roughly the same, but a lot more defined.

Apart from the general sculpt changes, the BoostKabuterimon mandibles now attach to the sides of the thighs with an extended piece, as Greymon only has attachment points there, and then rest on the top. There's also now defined plug on BoostKabuterimon's back to attach it to Greymon's back spines. The chest wrapping to fold around the arms, and the extending blade are some of the few actual transforming elements in this design, though we'll see a lot more when I eventually get around to Tankdramon and ShineGreymon. Also, because I wanted to emphasize the solar panel idea from the first one a bit more, I went with a shell pattern that was somewhat shuttle nosecone reminiscent, and implemented stars to give it a space vibe. Probably things I should have mentioned last week, but oh well.

As to why I felt this needed to be redesigned, the first attempt feels rough. When I got it commissioned, Emi commented that they were occasionally unsure of what certain parts were supposed to be doing (though every artist I've worked with has had trouble grasping the DigiXros concept at first), so I wanted this one to feel more natural when combining. That and Tankdramon broke the Rule of 7, so he needed redesigning anyway. Might as well start at the root and work my way back up.

Also, still unsure if blue or orange works better. Blue matches the color scheme from MetalGreymon, but orange makes it its own and still matches the stripes. Let me know, reader, what you think!

I’ve been playing some Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth lately! I like it! Love these little creatures and dudes. Here’s my main guys so far :) I’ve got the evolutions planned out for the main three (Ouryumon, Slayerdramon and Gaiomon ideally, with proooobably Growlmon > Gigadramon > Megidramon for the Growlmon in the back?)

I’ve gotten to the bit after when you defeat the Eater and that blue haired guy runs off and leaves you. Probably gonna spread playing this game out over the next several days so I don’t get too absorbed lol

My best friends forever :) I wish I’d gotten into Digimon as a kid because I would’ve died for these dragon dudes when I was younger (I still would!)

Maybe I’ll get more into Digimon in the future? Might give the anime a try, as well as some more games.

EDIT: Getting into the Ultimate/Perfect levels now! Some of my favourite guys!! I’ve still yet to get a Gigadramon just for now but I got a Megadramon out of Biyomon>Airdramon :)

I also made my version of the Digimon Partner, I just love Gammamon evolution lines, so I make another version there as well, I also gonna do that with the rest of Descendnats characters, so I hope you all like it!!
