Did Mei Forgive Wukong?
Tumblr media
When it come to Samadhi Fire Mei I have few thought. Like sure Wukong made a mistake, he's the one who mess up the ritual in first place. Wukong also not telling Mei about Mei being the ring also wrong (but understandable) . I mean from what Mei see being burn alive with whole world around you could be pretty traumatized. I won't say Mei forgive Wukong but atleast she understand him. She said....
"Wukong know the risk, it's what he would do if he had to. That's the hard part being a hero"
I know it's look like she want burn Wukong with the fire. But let be honest Wukong would let her do it if it mean to stop LBD to get the fire. She UNDERSTAND that.
Also about the ring, so Wukong real plan is to get the fire out of Mei without hurting her of course use it himself to burn up LBD. So he know how get the fire out which make me questions why he didn't do it to Ao Lie?
I mean if they get the fire out , they can just start over the ritual. I like to think that it's Ao Lie idea to keep the fire in himself because it more safe that way. Other never knew about the fourth ring so if anyone ever want to use the fire and somehow able to get the map they still unable to use the fire cuz they need the fourth ring.
I also want to point out again that Wukong may mess up the ritual but let's not forget why Mei burning. It's because of Macaque who is pressuring and threatning the gang to start the ritual before Wukong can carry out his plan. It's not Wukong fault that Mei burning and acording to his plan he still need to tell Mei about the ring in the end. People like to point out Wukong mistake but not Macaque in this situation.
But does everything is really Wukong fault? If they how the get the fire out but Ao Lie refuse to? If Wukong doesn't get carry out his plan because of Macaque? Does it?
IDK if what I said make sense or not but you got my point right? Or I just "bobok" here lol

Warning: noob author, female reader, yandere romantic characters, and others.
Characters: sun, macaque, sandy, pigsy, Bai long ma.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were just in the library of your family clan reading up on some of the spells your great, great, great, great grandfather; Tripitaka, or tang sazang, when you came across a interesting looking spell that seem like it was calling to you which made you unintentionally do that spell which brought you to now, in the past.
Sun wukong:
You had fallen on top of him when you met him and true others in the group you quickly apologized for falling on him when you fell before your fourth great grandfather had asked who you were and why were you falling in the first place.
You explain on how you were entranced by a spell that was made by your fourth great grandfather; Tripitaka, and unintentionally said it out loud which activated it which brung you to their timeline which is the past for you, very far in the past that is.
They were all shocked by the fact that you were tripitaka’s great, great, great, great granddaughter mostly Tripitaka as he is a Buddhist and they usually don’t marry, you soon explain how it’s possible and clearing his confusion by saying how that changed soon after they finished the journey and as long as the marriage doesn’t lead you of the path of enlightenment then it’s fine to marry.
When sun get’s in trouble with Tripitaka which made you quickly scold your grandfather as sun is still learning the Buddhists way and that reciting the chant will traumatize him if he keeps on doing that to him, you suggested a gentler approach for sun to help him not kill which made sun entranced by how gentle and caring you were even if your family still practice Buddhism (you can pick how much Buddhism that your family is.). You two soon get in a relationship albeit secretly only to Tripitaka as you noticed your grandfather’s overprotectiveness and wanted to slowly get him to notice you two being in a relationship so as to not get any negative reactions from him.
Though you soon had to go back to your time unwillingly which was by a demon that could do that but the demon know, al they know is that he can teleport anybody to somewhere out of his way that made sun angry and which resulted in the demons death. When you got back to your time it seems that time pasted faster and it was a year since you went missing to your family though while the family did a check up as per orders of your father, you soon were told that you were pregnant with a suns child which shocked your family upon this new discovery as well as you but you guess it was understandable the more you think about it.
you decided to take your now 3 month baby to a park for kids of that age. when it was an hour in of staying there your baby mk began to cry and repeat 'da da, da da!' you try to calm him down before someone intervene and helped you out with mk.
the male soon introduced himself as sun wukong that you knew and loved. you didn't realized until now as you had mostly been focused on the baby and the studies you need to get done to become the head of your clan. after that you too got to know each other again and you soon learned that sun had spent centuries trying to find you which made you sad and think it's your fault though sun soon reassured that it wasn't your fault.
Macaque:
Macaque had joined the group when you fell on sun which made him laugh so hard at sun’s predicament. You soon explained how you’re from the future and that you’re Tripitaka’s great, great, great, great granddaughter.
You also explained that the reason you got here was because of a spell you had unintentionally casted when it entranced you. After that you joined the group as Tripitaka didn’t want to leave you alone by yourself plus he wanted to know more of this spell that brought you here and how he was married even though Buddhism doesn’t allow you to marry, which you explain on how as long as you stay on the path of enlightenment then you’re free to marry and love your spouse.
You two got to know each other pretty soon and started dating after a month of spending time together. When you did tell the others about you two dating both pigsy and Tripitaka fainted, Tripitaka fainted because his granddaughters grew up too fast and pigsy because he wanted to date you but now couldn’t.
You and the group soon made a camping spot to rest gain energy again but as you rest in your tent you didn’t seem to notice that you’re fading with sparkles emanating from the disappearing limbs that started from your feet all the way up your chest before macaque came to check on you and woke you up in a panic as the sparkles reached up your shoulder and began to travel down your arms and head the last thing he sees before you disappeared was you reaching out and then you were completely gone which made him sank to the ground in shock as he look at the spot you were previously in as tears casted down his face.
You woke up to the face of your mother with her having a relieved look as she gently hugged you, she explained how you’ve been gone for a month now and the finally got you back with one of Tripitaka’s spell that seemed to reverse the one you accidentally casted on yourself with.
You were apparently with a child which made you blush at the reminder of what happened in the past. The days had past until it was three months after you’ve given birth to bai he a little girl that was adorable and most definitely bring ‘aww’s to anyone who looks at her.
You brung her to the park to help her get used to many environment and noises and so she can play around though the peaceful silence changed as your daughter started to cry, at first you started thinking that she was being bullied but she had started to calling out ‘da da!’ Which you guess she means her father which breaks your heart as you try to come her down until someone interrupts and asked if he could help, the voice is familiar before you noticed the same features bai he has is on him as well, it’s been a while since you thought about macaque with taking care of bai he and studying to become the head of your clan and all but all you had to do is say macaques name and the stranger smiled and say ‘glad you still remember me.’
Sandy:
Sandy had caught you when you met the group your fourth time grandfather was traveling with. You had fallen after chanting your fourth time great grandfather spell and thankfully he had caught you before you could get hurt.
It was then decided that you would stay with them until they figure out a way to get you back to your original time.
You two got in a relationship after 2 months as both of you were shy to confess each other and fear that the other only sees the other as a platonic spouse than a romantic one.
Though with the help of sun the two of you finally got into a relationship with the other.
You had gotten back to your time it was when they were fighting a demon that works with water, the demon had surprised you from behind and dragged you over to another part of the water is uses for their battles, Sandy had went after you but was too late as the demon seemed to have died by some light that covered you and the next thing sandy knew is that you were gone.
You woke up to your mothers face which had a concerned look making you question her on why she was making that face, she soon began to explain that they found you in the pond they had in the estate and that you were pregnant after they had a doctor check up on you as you had been gone for 3 months.
You had taken you child to the park that has a water park next to it as your child had a love for water and to run around. Soon enough your child had started to cry, you at first thought they had gotten hurt but it seems like they wanted their dada as they kept crying saying ‘da da!’ Someone came over as you were trying to calm them down and gently took them and began calming the child down, when you looked over you see sandy as you recognized that height he has and started to tear up as he pulls you in for a hug which you return.
Pigsy:
You were passed out on the ground near the path they were taking when they found you. After waking up and getting asked questions on who you are, you explained how you got her by a spell that your fourth time grandfather made as you felt a pull by it and unintentionally chanted it which brought you here.
They were all shocked that you’re the great, great, great, great granddaughter of Tripitaka, pigsy flirts with you every chance he gets, even though you don’t like those type of men pigsy seem to have snuck into your heart.
All of the group was shocked that you and pigsy got together, Tripitaka has grown overprotective of you after you and Pigsy started your relationship as he knows from his flirtatious ways and make sure to let pigsy know that if he hurts you then Tripitaka won’t hold sun back as sun started thinking of you as a sister.
You had appeared back in your time after a demon kidnapped you when you and the others were taking rest in the camp that you and the others made and in a panic you quickly chanted the spell that got you here out of desperation which took you back in your time.
Pigsy had threatened the demon that tried kidnapped you only to find out you had disappeared to your time via the chant that brought you here in the first place.
You had taken your son; tang, to the park but afterwards went to a noodle shop for some food and met a pig demon that was the owner and the cook. Tang had started to cry which made you panic as he usually doesn’t do that much though the owner; pigsy, gestured to hand tang over for a minute and was able to calm him down and then you realized that this was the same pigsy you grew to love in your time in the past.
Bai long ma:
Bai had found you when he was trying to find a watering hole to drink from as the others rest up at the camp.
He had woken you up by transforming into his more human form by gently stroking your cheek making it tickle.
(Ao lie in lmk is so cute and adorable!! Though I haven’t seen it yet so please no spoilers, thank you!)
He had brought you back to the group via carrying you in his arms as you explained how you got here to him, he was the one that explained to the others as you already explained it and he thought you didn’t want to explain again.
The others were shocked as he was to find out that your Tripitaka’s four times great granddaughter.
You two got to know each soon after most of the time Bai would be in his human form unless your grandfather needs him to change into his horse form. You had gotten into a relationship with Bai long ma after a month of spending time in the past but apparently you had spend enough time there and was brought back to your time soon after.
You returned to your time seeing both your mother and father looking at you with both relief and concern on their faces before explaining how long you’ve been gone and how you’ve been asleep since yesterday when they found you and how they found out you’re pregnant.
Instead of the park you went to Bai long ma’s family descendant that is related to him by one of of his siblings, you had wanted to introduce them your baby seeing as she and them are basically related. Apparently they are having a guest with them that seems familiar to you though mei brought attention to you two by wailing sand reaching out to that familiar figure that you soon realized is Bai long ma, or in shorter term, ao lie.
(A/n: I hope you like what I did with it!! Also hope you like the surprise on who the baby is! 😁 anyway, hope y’all have a wonderful day/evening/night!!! Bye!)
MONKIE KID S3 SPECIAL SPOILERS BEWARE!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mk is one of the most mysterious characters in this show, and eventho he my fav character, his mysterious lore scares me, ESPECALLY after his encounter with LBD./  Throughout the series, we’re given hints to every character’s origin. Every major plot-important character has a backstory or a HINT about their origin in some way, shape or form. (for example, Wukong, Macaque, Sandy, Pigsy, Tang, Mei, etc.) Mk mentions NOTHING about his origin, not even his own real name.  But we have been given NOTHING about Mk. We don't even truly know why he was able to lift and use the staff. (or, another side theory, he’s somehow related to Wukong.)  . . .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a theory (of course, you’re free to agree or disagree) that Mk and LBD are somehow connected. During the pilot special of season 1, when mk is near the staff, my sister @annoyed-galaxy points out that whispers could be heard saying “Monkey king’s staff” or something like that to mk, like coaxing him to pick it up. Like it was his destiny. You could say it was more to the viewer, or hell, even for dramatic effect. But seeing that LBD has whispering echoes around her, AND she manipulates alot of things behind the scenes, it isnt far-fetched.  Also, in certain episodes, Mk’s eyes flicker blue after meeting LBD. Though other characters have met her, and yes their eyes have turned blue. But only if they're being controlled by her or given her power. Mk has experienced neither, yet there are scenes where his eyes briefly flicker blue and he gets images of LBD in his head.  Not only that, out of everyone in the specials, she interacts with Mk the most. He always seemingly gets ‘hit’ with whispers and echos from her. Mk always subtly freaks out when he’s near her, and she speaks to him out of everyone. Even saying her final words to him. You’d think she’d have way more to say to Wukong, or hell, even Tang, who is OBVIOUSLY related to the great monk in some way, the same monk that sealed her away.  But no, she chose Mk. Out of all of them. Her final words to him sent a shiver down my spine. Its like she sees a portion of herself inside Mk. She sees Mk’s motives damn-near resemble hers. Its like she has a shard of herself in Mk, like how Mei has a piece of the Samadhi fire in her. She even says both of their paths, though have good and understandable intentions, have the same end: pain.  I think Mk and LBD are related somehow, connected. Mk’s calmness was also eerie during that final scene too. He stressed and panics so easily, and yet during this whole special, he was calm. Honestly, too calm imo. I feel like eventually Mk is gonna break, because through all he’s went through in the special, he kept hope. Usually, its admirable. But idk, his persona during these specials felt unsettling to see at some points. He sees this traumatic stuff happening, and yet he continues to keep it together. I feel like in season 4, at one point, Mk is gonna become something he isnt proud of at all, and might even have to make a choice that will change his view on everything. Or even unlock a new power only unique to him.  LBD was such an important villain, and it feels like she burrowed herself in the heart of Mk the most. This definitely isnt going to be the last time we see or hear about her. The next time we do, I worry its gonna be because of Mk.   Because honestly, Who is Mk?
Me ghink theres lot of hate towards tang sanzang some of which IS UNDERSTANDABLE
But alot of it goes too far and say the most rancid shit ever all bc hes book character. Mind ya hes based on actual person and is being use his likeness. Like some lmk fans be saying the worse thing ever towards this guy(for example wanting him get the d*ath penalty n amongst others).
We forgetting that yes some of his treatment towards swk IS horrible but we tends to forget swk had done some atrocious things that sanzang was witness to in full view. No human would journey like that without being completely scar and traumatized. Some of my friends while looking through the book had found that sanzang be using the circlet all in one go and then never used it in years.
His character development does happen yall in where he do trust his companion more and then *insert traumatizing moment* happen. I do think wukong didnt deserves the maltreatment tho(i want to say this bc later i get ppl saying that i support ab*se bc i defend sanzang for a bit, not knowing that i also disagreed w some his actions)
Most ppl forget that the first arc that the gang actually face as a group was the gingseng tree arc, not white bone spirit.that u have him defending wukong and countless other times where he do trust swk judgement in some cases. (i just wanted to get it out there since not many ppl realize it n im fully blaming osp for this bc they are skipping arcs. N they don’t really tell what arcs they’re skipping)
This just me rambling but dam all these ppl need therapy.
THEY'RE SAYING WHAT NOW ANON AAAAAAAAAAA but haha wow on a lighter note that is kind of funny that the fandom which routinely portrays the Six-Eared "I am going to try to murder-replace you for completely selfish reasons / repeatedly try to kill a young mortal that you love" Macaque as a monkey who never did anything wrong ever would then go out its way to demonize Tang "I do lash out & often don't trust my senior disciple but have also been threatened with death for fourteen years" Sanzang. Like geez I've seen many another fandom where the assumption is that for one character to be good/be "redeemed" you need to make another character horrible (tbh I'm starting to suspect that that's what's happening with the lego show version of Sun Wukong & the Six-Eared Macaque), but wild if true that some lmk fans would go THAT far in the attempt to paint the monk as a guy so awful that he literally deserves the death penalty.
Now to be fair it does need to be noted that even in Wu Cheng'en's classic (or at least from what I've seen in the Anthony C. Yu translation), Tang Sanzang was in many ways intentionally written as a caricature of a fussy Confucian scholar who may have memorized many doctrines but who doesn't really understand them, and who is often made a figure of fun for falling off his horse, and who does use the headband against Sun Wukong is some very explicitly painful and unjust scenes. In at least the book he's also a much more static character than the Monkey King in that we don't see any real changes in his thoughts or behavior over the course of the journey, which I can see as a something that would sour many against him. THAT SAID, you are very correct anon in noting that besides one traumatizing event after another happening to him, from his mother's suicide to constantly being threatened with death and/or rape at the hands of many yaoguai, this monk does have a number of reasons for why he's constantly crying and acting with hatred and suspicion towards the Monkey King. And let's not forget that one of the things SWK told Tang Sanzang early on in the journey was that he had literally killed so many he couldn't remember them all, and that was right before he tried to kill the monk himself! Point being that yes both Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong are extremely flawed individuals who often clashed with each other in some pretty upsetting ways, but there's also many understandable reasons for why they act the way they do. It's a real disservice to their characters and the underlying implications of the journey (or its retellings tbh) to forget or ignore that! *
*(and on THAT note this is another reason why it's kind of frustrating that the Overly Sarcastic Production & Monkie Kid retellings of Xiyouji seem to be the primary ways that western audiences are understanding the journey. Liking explicitly cartoony retellings is one thing. But then basing all your knowledge of the work on these retellings and/or even outright refusing to understand the classic in any other context makes for some really simplified and even really insulting beliefs about a culturally important work as a whole)
LMK Season 4 spoilers (kinda a theory based on s4 events)
RIGHT SO
pulls out conspiracy board
i think the Ink MK is the same being as Mirror MK, from the furnace.
Tumblr media
My reasoning for this is as follows:
- they both manifest themselves as MK
- While Ink comes off as more threatening, he still has a very similar vibe??
- Ink uses the same voice that Mirror did.
- Notably, they will use “we” when referring to things that MK did, but will also use “you” (as was the case in Minor Scale, where Mirror went “what are you doing?” ), the lack of using “I” means that they don’t truly see themselves as MK, but the usage of “we” does imply that they view themselves as a part of him.
Now, I don’t think that this being’s true form was the ink- The ink itself is mainly a spell to show one’s worst memories/their guilt, stuff like that. I think that whatever Being this is just.. Used the ink to manifest itself, the same way it used the furnace’s reflections.
As for what the being is.... hm. My best guess would be that MK is actually like, a piece of someone else? Like how the rock fell and a chip broke off, MK is a missing chip of a more powerful stone monkey, or something along those lines. Or possibly the being itself is the missing chip- too weak to interact with the real world...
It tells MK to “embrace chaos” at one point. Maybe it’s- I honestly don’t know if this is even a thing in this lore, but maybe it’s a physical manifestation of MK’s chaos energy?? It’s definitely chosen to take on a bit more of a Macaque role here, with, while helping to hammer the lesson home, also traumatized MK more, which does seem like what a purely chaotic being would do.
...I don’t know, just I don’t think we’ve seen the last of it.
Cursed Ink
2 Caged
The rocky plateau the two monkeys were on changed in a swirl of colors and ink revealing that they were now on Flower Fruit Mountain yet it was not as vibrant as Wukong was used to seeing it. ”Welcome to your new home Peaches.” ‘Macaque’ grinned standing once more while ink pooled onto a simple pond-like surface revealing two teenagers appearing in a village dressed in familiar clothing. Wukong’s eyes went wide and his heart sank. ‘Mk! Mei! What are the cubs doing in the scroll?!?’ Wukong thought struggling to break the ‘ropes’ while muffled chirps of warning came from his throat.
”Easy Peaches. I’ll let them pass as long as they follow the story and don't try to interfere. But if they do then you’ll have to take responsibility for what they do. After all, it's the parent’s duty to protect their cubs isn't that right? If you behave, their journey won't be as traumatic as yours was.” ‘Macaque’ explained.
‘Macaque’ slashed his claws at Wukong’s chest, easily tearing through the clothes Wukong wore smirking when he was finished. Wukong was now only in the loose pants he wore while some shreds of his clothing clung to his shoulders and wrists showing off his heavily scarred chest. ”I’ll leave you to explore while I check on the others sealed here. Fair warning, you won't be able to leave the old Territory and the Palace is at the heart of your new ‘cage’ so to speak.” ‘Macaque’ stated before fading into a pool of ink, with that the muzzle and ropes on Wukong burst splattering Wukong’s fur in even more ink.
“Damn that cocky creature,” Wukong muttered. His fingers throbbed from the mild pain of his claws being ripped out as more of his illusions began to fail from the lack of Chi he had.
“I need to get out of here and find the cubs fast!” Wukong stood and nearly buckled from his own exhaustion, hitting him like a sucker punch to the gut. He bit his lip, drawing blood, forcing his body to move as he ran through the faintly familiar paths to get off the island only to slam into a thick gray barrier at the edge of the forest bordering the beach. Wukong snarled in frustration landing a strong punch that would normally level a medium-sized mountain. Instead, Wukong felt like he had just hit his own staff as his knuckles split and bled slightly from the force that rippled like jelly through the barrier.
Wukong’s red and gold eyes blazed with power as he activated his Eye of Truth, biting back a growl at the complex and complicated spellwork woven into the barrier. It was made specifically for him in mind with an almost flawless design. Almost. The real Macaque had a special back for perfectly flawless spellwork and compared to the real thing this fake was an amateur. Wukong gathered power on his next strike and hit the barrier right where the weak point was only to be blown backward skidding on the dirt before righting himself to a stop shaking. “A trap in a barrier... Mac hasn't done that in centuries...” Wukong muttered grimacing seeing his pants turn up along the sides from skidding and his boots ruined as his eyes of truth glitched out. His power was now simply running at a bare minimum and sheer will was the only thing keeping him standing and conscious at the moment.
Instinct had him dodging to the left as a thick ink-black chain whipped out from somewhere behind him wrapping around a nearby tree trunk before bursting into an explosion of ink. “You're not catching me this time.” Wukong stated narrowing his eyes and letting his senses heighten to their fullest to dodge the incoming whip-like chains.
He panted slightly before a single chain firmly caught him around the waist. “Damn!” Wukong cursed before he was yanked off his feet, losing his balance as more chains wrapped around his torso pinning his arms to his sides while his legs were bound together. He crashed to the dirt growling as ink trailed up his neck and formed that muzzle once more with footsteps coming from his left.
”I see you came in contact with the barrier Peaches. You should have just walked away from it instead of making me angry.” ‘Macaque’ scowled, lifting the bound golden monkey off the ground and over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Wukong struggled growling deeply as he was taken deep into the forest down an unfamiliar path before his eyes were covered by black cloth. ”I would rather not ruin the surprise I have for you Peaches. I found him trying to get into the barrier before the sentries caught him.” ‘Macaque’ spoke.
Wukong only spared a split second to think over who would guess to look on the mountain for him and only one person came to mind. ‘Mac!’ Wukong thought before he was tossed to the ground slamming against a wall. The impact left him partially dazed while something warm spread behind his head. ‘I think I just got a concussion... Haven't had one of those since I picked up the staff.’ Wukong idly thought his ears were ringing before the sound returned.
“Wukong! What did you do to him, bastard?!?” snarled an all too familiar voice. One that both made his heart skip in beats yet break at the heavy guilt.
”I simply did what you are far too ignorant to do.” the ink creature replied. “You're supposed to be the Six-Eared Macaque, Master of the Winds, Shadows, and Metals with the ability to hear the past, present, and future making an omniscient being that rivals even the very Gods... Yet you're nothing but a coward hiding in your own shadow under assumption under assumption. Perhaps that's why the Brotherhood wanted to kill you off without Peaches’ knowledge after the fight in Heaven.” the ink demon coldly replied. ”All you have done is throw it all away the moment you went on that temper tantrum against Tripitaka. So blinded by rage you didn't even notice Peaches was in physical pain and under orders from the very Gods to not let Tripitaka be killed. What did that bout of blind anger accomplish? Nothing! Absolutely nothing but more indirect abuse and conformity. Unlike you Luier Mihou I know everything that happened on that Journey thanks to the Ten Kings and the countless souls of Celestials, Demons, and Humans embed in my very ink.”
Like Comment and fuel my imagination. I'd love any art as I'm practically worthless at drawing. I can trace and color but drawing free hand? I’d literally burn the page with the eraser.
going to keep this civil as possible, but there's nothing confirmed about Mk looking up to wukong as a dad, the only person who he called dad was pigsy (he called him dadsy but still). I'm not sure about Tang but I guess he serves as a fatherly figure as well due to in SQ's debut episode, he stated that he's practically MK's father figure.
idek where the wukong and mk thing being father/son dynamic thing came from, but some of the defenses on it tends to offend asian culture (I see loads of caucasian individuals say that mentor/mentee always has to be a parental figure, which is a false claim).
the whole headcanon is getting very uncomfy, since wukong neglected mk to be traumatized by a scary demon, and macaque literally beating the life out of mk in a couple eps (which irl standards you would loose all custody of your kid and/or likely to get convicted for child abuse).
First and foremost; the creators of the show frequently include Macaque and Wukong (among Sandy, Pigsy and Tang) as MK’s father figures. That by itself tends to indicate that the relationship between him and Wukong is a parental one.
In Chinese culture; as I’ve been told by other Chinese people; a mentor tends to fulfill a very parental role as a consistent authority to the mentee. Regardless of if it’s consistently the case; it’s a long term relationship where the mentor passes down teachings to someone younger and more dependent on them. It doesn’t matter if the individual view it as parental or not; a mentor/mentee relationship is always a power imbalance seeing as the mentees future depends on the mentor being willing to teach them.
In Wan Ji’s case, her future doesn’t depend on Macaque. It will help her and Macaque depends on her participation equally. In a mentor/mentee relationship; the mentee has everything to lose while the mentor has nothing to lose (they can always just find another mentee) which is what makes the relationship inherently “parental”. You could say; I suppose, that a mentee could also just find a new mentor; but a mentee depends on trusting that the mentor knows what he’s doing. It puts a young, inexperienced individual under direct power of someone who knows better and is capable of handing down whatever information they deem necessary (with good or bad intent)
The stuff you mentioned are illegal irl, yes; but they’re not legal guardians. The same “rules” don’t apply. Besides that, Wukong and Macaque are both immortal beings; as well as Wukong being classified as a god as well. You may not be suspending your disbelief appropriately if you’re applying real world legality to this show. (Also it would be child abuse and neglect if MK was a minor; which we have no idea if he is or not.)
I understand if your uncomfortable with the subject; or if you don’t want to view Wukong and Macaque as strictly parental figures; that’s your prerogative, but please don’t try picking a fight with me over it. I’m not interested in arguing details of a culture I can’t speak for.
Lego Monkie Kid (Shadowpeach) Fandom Rant/Discussion:
Disclaimer: Not sending hate this is just my opinion also my knowledge on the Chinese language is vague so take what I tell you about it with a table spoon of salt. Also people are free to do what they want and I can't/shouldn't try to stop them unless it's actually hurting anyone real. Also this is an open discussion feel free to critique my opinion or point out any flaws in my argument as long as it's respectful.
my issues with fanon-shadowpeach is when it's written to completely put all the blame on one or the other (most of the time Wukong).
The other thing is when it's a family au and one is addressed as bàba (Pinyin spelling of the Chinese word for dad/father) and the other is addressed as māma (pinyin for the Chinese world for mom /mother) , if it's a genderswap thing I guess it's fine (although i have my own gripes when a character in a gay ship is gender swapped and the other isn't) it's also perfectly fine if it's like a gender thing but when they both specifically identify as men it feels wrong to feminise someone in a mlm relationship when you could just have one be called bàba and the other be bà or even use just have them be called papa or dad. I'm not sure if there's another word for dad but yeah that's all I'm saying.
I also hate when there's a fic where it explores wukong's side without actually exploring his side or when he's going through something and everyone gets mad without feeling sympathy for him.
ie. let's say in this fic, macaque and wukong are arguing, macaque gets mad that wukong chose his new friends (his jttw friends) over him and or that wukong abandoned him for Heaven the cursed fillet or the 500 years imprisonment under the mountain gets brought up. This usually goes one of two ways, they talk about their issues healthily, or wukong gets victim blamed 😐. It's like 'I actually wasn't having a good time in Heaven, they tried to kill me and they couldn't and i tried to escape but then Buddha imprisoned me under a mountain for 500 years.' and the fic either had Macaque not know that happened, or when he does know I've literally seen one that was like 'how do you think I felt when you were trapped under that mountain and tortured, that affected me way more than it affected you even though you were the one being hurt.' I just don't understand why people are hating on wukong so much. Like I enjoy when people critic his character but I hate the unnecessary over bashing, were people treat him like he's an huge manipulative ass-hole who only cares about himself when that's untrue and ignores a lot of his character. I also get that Macaque is allowed to be angry at Wukong, and also in a lot of the instances of him getting hurt he's missing a lot of the context of what happened and why. Like if you think someone abandoned and killed you for no reason you are allowed to want revenge and hate them, but also don't write him as the victim of the bad things that happened to someone else when it wasn't traumatic for him.
I also hate when people are like 'yeah one's an innocent little cinnamon roll whose never done a bad thing in his life and the other is pure evil and irredeemable and everyone hates them and everything that happened is their fault!' Also neither of them are cinnamon rolls they're both shitheads (but not in a ass-hole way in a funny way.)
Please stop, you should write them like this: 'Hey we've both hurt each other a lot and even though some of those instances of us hurting each other was out of control but it still hurt and we should work on our issues healthily and fix out broken relationship or even make a new one because we're different people now and we should move one while also acknowledging each of out mistakes and becoming better people from them.'
Also macaque dying was more traumatic than it was for Wukong, don't get me wrong I love the angsty concept of wukong being like 'please wake up' or 'i'll never forgive myself' but yeah it was more traumatic for Macaque.
Lady Bone Demon controlled both of them and though one of them was under her control longer don't make them try to one up each other, trauma ain't a competition y'all.
Moral of the story: if two dudes who identify as men adopt or have a kid together they're both the dad so call them the kid's 'dads' and not their 'mom' and dad. In a fight there's two sides to the story, someone's trauma and the bad thing that happened to them doesn't hurt you more than it does them even if that bad thing that happened to them does affect you in some way don't make it about you. Trauma is not a competition, don't one up someone when they tell you about something deeply upsetting and personal they're going through.
End of rant. Please remember this is an an opinion and suggestion if you want to make an au/fic where on of them is the worst I can't stop you and shouldn't try to since it's not gonna hurt anyone or me and doesn't affect my personal life.
red, blue and purple rose for macaque? :3c
HAIII JJ <3
Red rose: Who apologizes first after fights? After how much time?
I'll be real due to the way I've grown up I tend to over apologize even when not necessary so it's definitely me, though there have been times of course where Macaque took it upon himself to apologize when he knows or believes he's done something worthy of apologizing for, and half the time it's not something he really needs to, I know he's never malicious about anything we talk about.
Though I don't think we've ever had any real fights. Disagreements sure but we try to always work with each other rather than blame each other for anything! The 'Us vs Problem not Me vs You' thought process has helped a lot with avoiding anything like that, and we always try to talk things through!
Blue rose: What is your favorite date setting?
Hard to really say! I adore all time I get to spend with him. I do have some favorites though; going out on shopping dates just the two of us, I have a nice memory of walking down a small downtown area with a lot of local vendors and got some nice food and did some window shopping. There's also nights in where we cook and bake, dancing to music while things sit in the oven and then sitting down for a movie while eating our food together. Like I said, I relish every second I get to be around him, so it's hard to pick too many over the others, but I do like the smaller more private cozy dates together, not planning too much and just being around each other.
Purple rose: What is a secret you hide from your F/O? Do they have one too?
I wouldn't say there's too many secrets. I'd think in both cases is just traumatic things from our pasts we don't like thinking about, and I will never ever push him to talk about any things like that, I already know the gist of some things. There are times he opens up about those things but I always assure I'll never pressure him to explain himself or pry for answers but I'm always, always here for support. He's of course shown support for my own unfortunate events in the past, he's the biggest source of support for me, and he still is whenever the pain of such things comes back.
TLDR; We have each our own things we keep buried and don't try to pry but always are here for each other.
Me and the faction anon are scary together
So about clone wukong AU!
I am indeed making scenarios. This AU was supposed to be only the generals and the clone, but by the anon factions in the end the real wukong comes back, and that's fine! I can work with that.
- the generals do get wukong back! But they don't get to see him. They were there just there to be a distraction for heaven so wukong could escape. Wukong didn't use them, no, he thought they were others from heaven and took the opportunity to just leave.
he left for ffm, and since i do bet the generals had a long way to get to heaven, they had to get another long way to get back.
By the fanfiction anon, two generals stayed, and others went to heaven, so when wukong came back, he had to meet Ba and Macaque, along with the clone.
The clone was fine, didn't poof yet. He was actually a great source of information of what exactly happened in heaven. Which..is just torture in the generals eyes (i mean they aren't wrong)
But either way! Wukong was back, still burning, he just ignored pretty much everyone too, he just closed himself in his room to understand how to solve this.
luckily the house didn't got on fire and luckily no one was hurt, just two very concerned generals and a clone trying to calm them down.
no one knows how unhinged wukong became other than the clone, and no one knows how easy it is for wukong to snap at someone right now other than the clone, so the generals had nothing but just listen to the clone.
while wukong was inside his room, occasionally coming out, and obviously pulling up his glamorous (even though it didn't hide with how upset he was) the other two generals came back.
Didn't take too long since ffm is literally heaven neighbor, but did took a while. And no progress was made,
Wukong was still isolating himself in his room, coming out simply to do whatever stupid task he had as a king (even if most times the clone did them)
The clone was still here and..it was- it honestly was like if wukong wasn't here, he never talked to anyone, he always ignored everyone and just did what he was told to do. It's just them and the clone only sticking around to do tasks.
Except coming out of his room.
Which is probably a mess now because of a couple meltdowns.
but! He wasn't just there to let out his anger, he was actually trying to help himself and his fur.
He didn't cate about his eyes, he cared about his fur. He always wanted to look perfect in both personality and looks, and having burned fur? This- this dark brown ruined fur?
I mean he likes dark brown but it's not the fur he's supposed to have!
And..he doesn't have to worry about scars, he can take care of those himself too.
So long story short, he's taking care of himself, trying to look like before without the glamour.
There were many times when Ma tried to talk to wukong to ask questions, to ask if he was okay but he just ignored her.
and it was going on for too long honestly, the clone kept saying how wukong probably just didn't wanna talk, he just came back from something traumatic y'know?
But Ma was too worried for it. She didn't even see him! The only time she did was when he's outside working but that's it!
so! What did Ma do? She came in without knocking.
she just saw wukong, where fur was now on the orange shade, helping himself with horrible burn scars. he was bandaging again the parts of his body that were cracking, the parts that were melting a little because of how hot is body still was, and other scars of his.
Ma wasn't really.. disgusted, she just felt..sad for wukong.
She knew how much wukong cared about his looks for whatever reason and how all of it is just- ruined!
She can't even see wukong in the eyes because of- how rare that look on his face was!
Ma really never recalled wukong having such a hateful and angry look! it's just.. it's so rare that it's weird now. She's used to the cheerful and positive wukong.
But that doesn't stop her, she asks anyway.
Is he okay? Does he need help?
and Wukong just glanced at her and says "yeah."
And his voice is just so low and ruined.
it's hard to understand that this is sun wukong.
Where's the matching fur between him and Ma?
Where's the happy look wukong had?
Where's wukong brown eyes?
Where's wukong happy and pretty high voice?
what did heaven do to him?
(i accidentally wrote a semi fic! Sorry! and I'm sure that when the ✍️ anon sees this they'll start writing an actual fic of this.)
But yes! Thank you for reading this, I'm really just messing with your version of ffm monkeys because they are interesting! Hope I'm not bothering.
- 💚
These monkeys really cannot catch a break
And don't worry, you're not bothering at all!
Favorite villain of all time ??
(but maybe also your favorite lmk villain if they're not ur all time fav??)
I am going to be so real with you. My brain erases faster than an Etch a Sketch, so I'd have to say my favorite villain of all time is Draxum (That I can remember).
He is smart, he is witty, and he is the right kind of loser that this type of villians should be.
Bill cipher is up next because god, that being was traumatizing and I did NOT expect that. (Top tier voice acting too.)
For LMK I'd have to say it's the LBD (since I don't really see Redson nor Macaque as villains anymore.) She's cunning, her powers are amazing, and the way she is animated is divine. (I also really love the gold and silver demons and they need more love)
"omg macaque is just a poor guy wukong was sooo mean to him :("
Macaque: literally tormenting mk and consistently traumatizing him with great joy for the sole factor of knowing wukong and being his student and nothing else. Constantly lies and manipulates those around him to get on top. Vaguely told his own biased side of the story only to use it against MK to continue beating down on him.
But yeah keep talking about how poor sad macaque is the real victim here even though we don't have the full story, the fanon makes up half the shit about him to try and make him redeemable, and he's consistently shown in Canon to enjoy hurting the people around him even when they haven't done anything wrong for no other gain than feeling like he's getting retribution against wukong.
[Monkie kid season 3 episode 4 spoilers, tw abuse]
SO many things make sense about Macaque’s character and the way he’s been acting now after episode 4. Man’s basically straight up been abused by LBD.
AND THE WAY HE’S ALWAYS SO THROWN BY THE WAY MK RESPONDS TO HIM NOW MAKES SENSE TOO NOW
BECAUSE MK IS HIM. Macaque is to Mk what LBD is Macaque. Macaque is threatened and abused and he turns around and does the same things to Mk, responding violently to him, gloating, threatening, telling him “you’re nothing,” because LBD tells him in the wake of “HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHO I AM? WHAT I AM?” he is nothing.
And then instead of continuing the cycle of taking it and turning around and being that person to someone else, Mk breaks out, fights back, and asks him why he’s doing this.
Macaque says “FIGHT BACK” but it’s almost like he wants to lord over him the fact that he can’t fight back rather than get him to actually fight back. Mk is powerless and Macaque is powerful and he can do nothing, he is nothing. That could be why he alway seems to look so surprised whenever Mk actually fights back.
Mk doesn’t react like he does. Instead he breaks the cycle. He’s kind to his friends, what’s more is he’s kind to Macaque. And when he doesn’t back off, he kicks out kicks back, because Mk knows what’s happening is wrong and that Macaque is wrong and he has a group of friends who supports him and mean the world to him, and he will take it all, but the moment you put them in danger he fights, and that is what Macaque doesn’t have.
He miscalculates because he assumes everyone is like him or thinks like him or reacts like him like he thinks they will, but his ability to see that is completely screwed by the fact that he’s been manipulated and abused and gaslit by the Lady Bone Demon. He can’t even see people anymore. Like…
He’s in a rough spot. We don’t know how long LBD had to mess with him or how much in his head isn’t real that she showed him, or how much is through his warped lens, or how much was planted as false memories by her. How almost angelic like she looks in the flashback feels wrong.
Macaque’s unstable right now. Straight up. He’s lashing out more than ever, unhinged in a way that really illustrates the fact he’s falling apart right now. He got taken advantage of when he was near-death and agreed to a deal that has trapped him in an abusive horrible situation. Can’t even get a good figure on how that happened because both LBD and Macaque are unreliable narrators. Even Macaque’s own memories could be something changed by LBD, a specific version of events that she forces him to remember when they might not be true.
However he got there, Macaque is in a pretty horrible situation. Mk, who’s been directly traumatized and manipulated by LBD is in a pretty horrible one too, but he’s choosing to try and find something to beat her, when, to Macaque, she is unbeatable, so why try to do anything but follow her and stay on “the winning side”. He’s been pretty thoroughly snapped to pieces and sculpted into her “champion”. It’s not him. But that’s who he has to be right now to survive in his mind.
Macauqe is LBD’s “champion” and Macaque is trying to make Mk his “student” which is basically just code word for “tool” and “punching bag”. And the cycle of abuse ends there, because Mk won’t let it continue.
Being in a situation like that is no excuse to treat anyone the way he does, abuse is abuse no matter what you experience, Macaque is to Mk what LBD is to Macaque and yet Mk chooses be kind despite that, even if the situation is so similar. It doesn’t make what he does okay, but it does provide a much closer look at why he acts and reacts the way he does to things.
Why doesn’t he fight back?
Well, he tells us himself.
“Kid, you can’t even beat me.”
When Sun Wukong was at full power, Macaque couldn’t beat him. And when Mk fought LBD all out, using all of Sun Wukong’s powers, he lost, Sun Wukong even hasn’t tried to fight her. So, if he can’t beat them he knows he can’t beat her when she’s stronger than them. The way he treats Mk actually kinda just tells him exactly what he thinks and his rationalization behind things.
Anyway, Macaque’s an abuser who has been abused himself and hecking needs therapy. Looking forward to getting more of the backstory between him and Wukong cause that could provide SO much more insight to his character and I am STARING.
When the seal has put on did BK know it or it's already to late?
Anyway how many days is the distance when Macaque put the seal? If it takes a few weeks i think Macaque experience high depression between waiting for MK and the gang and about BK finding it out first
so this is a slightly vague but mostly complete timeline :D some parts are still open to change if theres something better or cooler that could happen
1) swk and lbd fight and the bone king is created (bai he- lbds previous host escapes)
2) the mayor and macaque adjust to living with the bone king. mk has no idea anything is wrong. BK takes macaques hearing for the first time, the mayor [REDACTED till i finish this comic] 2-3 weeks later, the bone king, feeling bits of mks (swks) power goes to find the crew and torment them
3) a little time after that bai he makes it to mk to warn them about what happened- more under cut
4) the bone king brings macaque and the mayor out with them to try to take mks power, with bai hes warning, the crew have managed to make a plan to seal them under a mountain but it does NOT work and after throwing the mountain off, (this comic) the bone king goes kaiju war form because of swks traumatic memories of you know, being under a mountain (👀 @animemoonprincess i saw your tags). in the confusion, macaque goes to find mk and tries to hide him and they talk, briefly. macaque agrees to contact mk through astral projection to try to figure out a plan
5) my timeline is a bit muddier here but the bone king is a little less present from now because they have some things to do [SPOILERS]. theyre aware somethings a little different with macaque but figure they just scared him real bad and hes still a little shooketh- the mayor figures out macaque is contacting mk. he does not tell the bone king.
6) some time after this mk figures out a plan to get an item designed to help people make difficult decisions by splitting them into two parts. this plan will only work if macaque first places a seal on the bone king- to drain a lot of their power, and to power the item
7) @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off comic happens (aka the Best Thing i have ever layed eyes on) and macaque puts the seal on the bone king
8) (very very hazy on how this Whole Thing happens but any people with ideas can come send an ask, or it might come about organically) a bit of time later, after the seal is filled, they lure the bone king out and use the item on them, splitting swk and lbd. the mayor grabs lbd and runs. the crew gets swk somewhere safe. macaque also runs but in a Different Direction
:D tada
