EA ramble so Spoilers hehehhe (it’s very long and half of it probably doesn’t make sense i’m sorry)

FIRST OF ALL the start of the audio oh em gee he’s such a horny bastard i love it. i need to stop saying that um anyway. tbh i wasn’t even caught off guard that much bc that’s just the kind of thing i expected from a porter audio.

THE SAM CALLL AAWHHH porter’s genuine shock at sam, vincent and lovely leaving the house hurts me because he can’t seem to fathom having the kind of freedom and lack of obligation to make that choice AGH and i love his attitude he’s so silly.

“i am busy with someone very important to me.” kill me now please i can’t take this anymore. this whole audio’s focus was the fact that porter and treasure don’t know each other that well but despite that, porter cares too much about treasure to just up and leave them even at the mention of his house falling apart. it’s crazy how much he cares for treasure already and I LOVE IT wow sure do hope nothing bad happens to this weak defenceless unempowered human….

speaking of unempowered, i LOVE that porter addressed the power imbalance and how that was affecting treasure’s responses to him. i know treasure seemed to be stubborn, straightforward and upfront in porter’s sleep aid audio but i have a feeling that after porter denied “talking” so adamantly, treasure didn’t want to keep pushing him. not just out of care but also a slight hint of fear. not only are they unempowered but they were also completely uninformed before porter and i’m sure they still know little to nothing about the magical world. i can’t blame them for being hesitant to push a vampire, whose abilities they don’t really know the full extent of. saying that, they do still obviously care for porter and i’m so so glad that porter addressed this to ensure that treasure’s fear of giving the “wrong answer” doesn’t hurt their relationship with him.

and on the topic of their relationship, porter’s soft “do we?” after talking about the possibility of wanting to make their relationship long-term and more in depth AAAAAHHHH he’s so cute. and him acknowledging that it’s been a while since he’s had the desire or even the time to get to know someone outside of the solaire house hurts my heart so much. the fact that even after he was “freed” of his maker, he still was too absorbed by the need to appease william that he didn’t have time to live his own life outside of that is so painful to think about and i love it. also he’s just cute when he’s unsure heheh.

ngl i thought porter mentioning treasure’s surname would lead to him revealing his own true surname. but that’s mostly just me being hopeful because it’s still quite soon in his and treasure’s relationship. he doesn’t even know treasure’s surname so i doubt he’s in any place to just drop something so personal, maybe even something that brings up such emotional memories considering even his life before turning wasn’t the best.

porter’s little darling’s hehehe erik loves that term of endearment so much i swear. OH and porter’s repeated mentions of sam, to me, prove that there is something more to sam’s friendship with porter than there seems to have been shown to us. sam himself has already said he has a sort of tolerance for porter’s bullshit, even if it has limits. and now, porter’s mentions of sam throughout a conversation that doesn’t involve him tells me that the pair are closer than they seemed to be. which makes sam leaving the house hurt even more oh my god i can’t believe how porter feels considering maybe the one person in the house he could stand to be around is leaving. and even after trying to make up with vincent, now vincent is leaving too. porter lets pack our bags too and run away together as well please, you deserve everything.

UGH TREASURE MEETING SAM AUDIO WHENNNN??? erik please give sam a chance to reflect the “sam landed you?” comment onto porter with treasure.

AAAGGGHHHHH i can’t wait to see where this relationship goes. i didn’t think this would turn into such a long ramble wow i love this man (he’s fictional) he’s such a cutie (he has no canon appearance) i wanna marry him (he’s nothing but a voice).

the first chapter.

a common question asked is “how do i shift?” and that truly does depend on how YOU desire to see shifting as a whole.

let’s begin from the very beginning, the very basics of the basic.

intention. people will ALWAYS ALWAYS preach how intention is the key to shifting, but they never really explain what it is? intention is basically the emotion / motivation to do that thing.

to go a little more in depth i recommend this blog about intention written by @lunarshifting (link)

methods. are methods needed? absolutely not. if you feel they are needed, then they are. if you feel they are not, then they are not. they are nothing more than a “helping hand”

assumption. this is not really talked about if you were on a different platform (its more coming to light now and YAYYYY) but assumption is your bff FOR LIFE. shifting can be as easy or as difficult as you believe it to be. if you assume you gotta sleep with your big toe pointing north to shift, then that will be what makes you shift. if you assume you gotta do 17 backflips before the sunsets to shift, that is what will make you shift. get my drift?

a couple bloggers recommended for assumption would probably be @etherealkissed88 + @luckykiwiii101 + @yourstruly-babygirl ! all sweethearts too. only the best for my bffs ( and @stilljuststardust + @lunarshifting give lovely shifting advice and js general shit as well best people swear )

let’s think for a second! 💭 what do YOU want to do to shift?? because what you want is what will work out for you!! keep in mind, this list is NOT limited to anything you can take and leave anything or wtv you want!

music? great, let’s do something with music. waltz around with someone from your dr, repeat a scenario that the music reminds you of, anything of the sort.

visualization? dope! let’s put it to use. a tip that helped me is to treat your visualization like a memory rather than a distant place. even if you haven’t experienced it yet!

affirming? great, say a bunch of fun affirmations! make it personalized and fun, if it starts to feel like a chore switch it up!

following instructions? guided meditations and pre made methods are probably going to be the best fit for you!

using your senses? YAY let’s use that, what do you feel, smell, see, taste, and hear in your dr? see where that leads you.

no method? lucky you, breathe in, lay down, sit up, wtv you want! you’ll shift anyway, don’t stress!!

silence or noise? use those noises to get a feel for your dr. and use that silence to simulate your dr if that makes sense!

Going absolutely feral at all the content mills and reviews that are complaining because 73 Yards doesn't ever tells us what the woman said.

Spoilers under the cut.

Like, straight up I'm probably pitching a Black Archive on this episode so I'm not gonna write everything in my head. But tl;dr, 73 Yards is abandonment issues as folk horror.

Folk horror and abandonment issues have one really major thing in common: you don't always have an explanation, you just have the fear, and it's all-encompassing.

If you have these issues (which as a person who went through some serious shit as a child I 100% do), the truth is that you're never thinking about what someone would say that would cause the best, smartest, lovingest people around you to simply pick up and leave. You're not worried about the what. You're worried about the eventuality. Because it could be anything.

When you've been dropped that hard before, even if you surround yourself with the nicest people who do nothing but love you, your brain is in fight-or-flight. There's a tiny wounded part of you that exists on a knife edge, knowing that if someone abandoned baby you, surely anyone would abandon grown-up you.

In other words - what was said doesn't matter.

Bonus: if we HAD found out what was said in any sort of satisfactory way, that would in effect be saying that actually there is a legitimate reason for Ruby's mum, Kate Stewart, and UNIT's best and brightest to turn their backs on Ruby forever. And I'm not sure that's a great lesson. (Of course, now that I've said that, watch us find out in the finale.)

Hey there! What are your thoughts on the infamous and legendary Tenshinhan-Yamcha relationship?

It's something the anime created to try and make Yamcha more prominent of a character. Toei loved Yamcha. They sprinkled all kinds of things throughout the anime to try and make him seem like a bigger, more dignified, and more important character. In the anime, Yamcha is basically the guy; The brave, cunning, and talented leader of the human martial arts crew, with Ten as the prominent anime rival figure who does his own thing but is still part of the group.

The anime also pretty aggressively takes his side in the largely ambiguous relationship drama going on in the background between him and Bulma.

Part of that was setting him up as a sort of bro and rival to Tenshinhan. Which is kind of funny because it plays straight something that was done as a bit in the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai.

Tenshinhan's initial read of the Kame-senryu students is that Yamcha is the serious and capable martial artist in the bunch, and Goku and Krillin are his juniors. He seizes upon Yamcha as the adversary he must defeat in order to break Kame-senryu on the world stage.

Yamcha, in turn, banters back with Tenshinhan. This is probably where Toei got the idea to make them rivals. Goku, meanwhile, pays little mind to the verbal jousting; He's already made up his mind about Tenshinhan.

Krillin thinks he's a big jerk face and Yamcha's raring to make him eat his words, while Goku's reading Ten and going "This guy's an incredible martial artist and I can't wait to fight him!" Ten, in turn, is making bad assumptions probably based on the ages of the Muten-Roshi's pupils.

In fact, he's paying Goku no mind at all. When he uses Chiaotzu's psychic powers to rig the drawing of lots, he sees a formidable foe in Jackie Chun and wants to get a glimpse of what Jackie's made of before fighting him.

While taking Yamcha for himself.

And letting Chiaotzu have Krillin, since Chiaotzu had a bone to pick.

Meanwhile, Goku was pit against Pamput as the leftovers. Not one single solitary shit was given for who Goku would fight. Ten had his eyes on breaking the best of Kame-senryu and in his mind, that meant Yamcha.

And I do mean breaking. Ten humiliates and brutalizes Yamcha in the ring, then claims victory over Kame-senryu. He's faced down the best of the best and it's going to be smooth sailing from here, as long as he doesn't let himself get cocky and make a mistake.

But then Krillin and Chiaotzu's match began, and while watching the fights, Tenshinhan overheard some shit.

The junior underling of Yamcha's that he's been ignoring killed Taopaipai, his master's brother and the greatest practitioner of their art. That's when Ten realizes that he's made some bad assumptions and needs to adjust his expectations accordingly.

This is the last significant interaction Ten and Yamcha ever have. Ten and Chiaotzu do train with the Kame-senryu boys when they're undergoing a heavenly trial together.

But Ten and Chiaotzu are kinda like Piccolo. They do their own thing in their own space and don't have relationships with the others. They'll train under a shared master with Kame-senryu students but they don't, of their own volition, train or socialize with Kame-senryu.

Ten and Chiaotzu go their own way and don't form any sort of relationship to the rest of the group at all. They are only ever, at most, associates from work. Ten's primary interest is in cultivating his new ex-Tsuru-senryu art and his secondary interest is in testing his developing abilities against Goku. He's never paid Yamcha much mind at all after that one fight.

No, Yamcha's greatest bro and rival and comrade is much closer to home. It's the character Toei utterly disrespects, and goes out of their way to downplay and trivialize at every opportunity in the anime and movies. It's the person who happily banters with him whenever they're together.

The character who has Yamcha's back when people are being shitty.

Who (along with Goku when he's around) races to Yamcha's side whenever he gets hurt.

Krillin is the guy that the anime tries to make Yamcha out to be. And Krillin is, to Yamcha, the guy that the anime tries to make Tenshinhan out to be.

My biggest beef with the anime is that it fundamentally misrepresents the characters and their relationships to one another. This creates expectations for how they'll be handled in the story moving forward.

Yamcha never got to be the guy because he was never supposed to be; Toei was setting viewers up for disappointment by promising a more plot-critical and more formidable character than what he was designed to be. Toei promised that Yamcha would be #1 among the humans and the main protagonist whenever Goku isn't around. And that never materialized. Because he's not. He never was.

They did this to Gohan too, with episode after episode portraying him as an enthusiastic and battle-hungry chip off the ol' block, chomping at the bit to become a great martial artist just like his dad. Toei's Gohan is a ready and willing Goku Jr., except when the plot forces him to be a sensitive boy in over his head because that's who the character actually is in the canon that's being adapted.

A lot of people like those interpretations. And, like, you do you. I'm not going to say anyone's wrong for liking them. I'm not here to say those interpretations are bad. Just that they're basically fanfiction, which is a problem because being in the most prominent adaptation of the source material disguises the fact that they're fanfiction. It creates anticipation of payoffs in the main story; Payoffs that will never come, that can never come, because the plot points building to them are fanfiction.

I honestly do wonder how much of the resentment and frustration fans have with Dragon Ball canon stems from the fact that Toei kept writing checks that the manga wasn't going to cash.

Oh goodie, let's make the nasty boy mad! Let's unban him from the shop and make sure Liebling knows he would do anything for her.

You think sometimes that your actual customers might be worse than the Fae that linger around your shop. At least the monsters are polite. At least they follow the rules you have pinned behind the counter.

There's a loud clatter as one of your displays is knocked over. Poppies and peonies rolling across the floor only to be smashed underfoot. You wince, your poor flowers. "Take it outside guys," You call, grabbing a mop to clean up the water starting to pool. The two men who are, unfortunately, human ignore you. Continuing to roughhouse and laugh at the annoyed looks the rest of your patrons shoot them. You glower at them as you try to right your bucket display.

One of them stops you, grinning at your less than pleased expression. "Oi, slag," you grimace, "how about you give me your number, yeah?"

"How about fuck off," You shoulder past him, only to be stopped by the other one.

"Now that's not very nice."

"I'm not very nice," You tell him plainly, "now kindly move."

They bark out a sarcastic laugh before grabbing your arm, "Listen here shop girl, my friend and I are-"

"Are you going to leave or do I have to make you?" You ask, unwilling to listen to whatever bullshit they have to say.

"Oh," One of them grins, "She's gonna make us. Pretty little thing like you, I'd like to see you try." Well, he's got you there. You don't really have anyone else working that could help you, and god only knows the monsters that haunt the place won't intervene without asking the world from you in return. Fuck, you wish that big mother fucker with the teeth was unbanned. His presence alone would probably scare these guys off. He is definitely getting unbanned.

König's head jerks to stare at the door to the shop. The threshold is gone. He doesn't waste time with curiosity, folding himself into the shop almost as quickly as he's allowed. He wonders what changed, what made you finally decide to let him in again. Then he sees them, feels his teeth and claws itch with the overwhelming urge to rip and tear, and wastes even less time.

You hear the low snarl before you see his hands wrap around the men's necks. Barely human as he lifts them up like ragdolls, their hands clawing at his fingers where he squeezes their throats. The deep black claws dig into the soft vulnerable -entirely human- flesh of the men’s necks, blood bubbling to the surface where the razor's edge of König’s claws press. One of them screams, legs kicking out to try and gain any semblance of leverage against the monster holding him tight.

“They’re just assholes,” You tell him, voice edged with fear. You don’t know what to say to keep him from spilling blood in your shop.

“And soon they will be corpses,” König replies, like it’s that easy. You think it is that easy for him. His hood hardly seems to be in the way when he digs his wicked teeth to one of the men’s trapezius and rips.

A cool hand wraps over your eyes, shielding you from the violence. A gentle voice in your ear above the sickening gurgle of blood as it bursts from the torn musculature, “I know it’s against the rules, touching you, but you don’t want to see this.”

You feel a sob grip your chest, and press a hand to your mouth out of instinct. The air tastes like iron, like blood, like the sound of splintering bone. You thought there’d be more pleading in death, something other than the animalistic panting and growling. The hand over your eyes shakes in the silence.

“Gib sie mir,” König growls, you can feel the shadow of him in front of you. The hand doesn’t move until you feel it ripped away from you with a shout of pain. König’s eyes stare into you, holding your face in blood stained hands. “It’s just a bad dream, Liebling,” He tells you firmly, his fingers pressing to your forehead as you try to keep your eyes on him and not the warmth soaking into your shoes, “that’s all.”

i just. hit s+ rank in splatoon and i never honestly thought this would happen?? am i cool now.. do i get to be a part of the s4? do i get to be watered down to my running joke all the time?

#for HOURS now theres been. some sorta get together with i assume our neighbors in the courtyard #theyve been playing music and laughing and i think probably barbecuing #and it sounds like theyre having a pretty objectively nice time out there. however.#im soooooooooo fucking glad i dont have to partake in that. im so comfortable alone in my room #and while its annoying how loud theyre being its a good reminder about how much i LOVE being alone #i know im phrasing this in a way that makes it sound sarcastic but im fully serious #id hate being a part of whatever sort of get together it is theyre having out there im so fucking happy when im alone #all cooped up in my dark comfy room with all my favorite things. aughgh. bliss #I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!! ITS THE BEST ITS TOTALLY UNPARALLELED!!!!!!!!#and our noisy and sort of annoying neighbors reminded me of that just now #which is nice. cause sometimes i forget just how valuable being alone in my room is to me #even if i never get to be home alone anymore and i cant actually be fully happy unless i AM totally completely alone #its still better than it used to be <3

hi, i ireally love your work and i don't know if you've answered this before but, what kinds of studies do you do or how did you learn color theory? i wanna get better at rendering and anatomy but im having trouble TT TT

Hi! Long answer alert. Once a chatterbox, always a chatterbox.

When I started actively learning how to draw about 10 1/2 years ago, I exclusively did graphite studies in sketchbooks. Here's a few examples—I mostly stuck to doing line drawings to drill basic shapes/contours and proportions into my brain. The more rendered sketches helped me practice edge control & basic values, and they were REALLY good for learning the actual 3D structure behind what I was drawing.

I'd use reference images that I grabbed from fitness forums, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and some NSFW places, but you could find adequate ref material from figure drawing sites like Line of Action. LoA has refs for people (you can filter by clothed/unclothed, age, & gender), animals, expressions, hands/feet, and a few other useful things as well. Love them.

Learning how to render digitally was a similar story; it helped a lot that I had a pretty strong foundation for value/anatomy going in. I basically didn't touch color at all for ~2 years (except for a few attempts at bad digital or acrylic paint studies), which may not have been the best idea. I learned color from a lot of trial and error, honestly, and I'm pretty sure this process involved a lot of imitation—there were a number of digital/traditional painters whose styles I really wanted to emulate (notably their edge control, color choices, value distributions, and shape design), so I kiiind of did a mixture of that + my own experimentation.

For example, I really found Benjamin Björklund's style appealing, especially his softened/lost edges & vibrant pops of saturated color, so here's a study I did from some photograph that I'm *pretty* sure was painted with him in mind.

Learning how to detail was definitely a slow process, and like all the aforementioned things (anatomy/color/edge control/values/etc.) I'm still figuring it out. Focusing on edge control first (that is, deciding on where to place hard/soft edges for emphasizing/de-emphasizing certain areas of the image) is super useful, because you can honestly fool a viewer into thinking there's more detail in a piece than there actually is if you're very economical about where you place your hard edges.

The most important part, to me, is probably just doing this stuff over and over again. You're likely not going to see improvement in a few weeks or even a few months, so don't fret about not getting the exact results you want and just keep studying + making art. I like to think about learning art as a process where you *need* to fail and make crappy art/studies—there's literally no way around it—so you might as well fail right now. See, by making bad art you're actually moving forward—isn't that a fun prospect!!

It's useful to have a folder with art you admire, especially if you can dissect the pieces and understand why you like them so much. You can study those aspects (like, you can redraw or repaint that person's work) and break down whether this is art that you just like to look at, or if it's the kind of art that you want to *make.* There's a LOT of art out there that I love looking at, probably tens of thousands of styles/mediums, but there's a very narrow range that I want to make myself.

I've mentioned it in some ask reply in the past, but I really do think looking at other artist's work is such a cheat code for improving your own skills—the other artist does the work to filter reality/ideas for you, and this sort of allows you to contact the subject matter more directly. I can think of so many examples where an artist I admired exaggerated, like, the way sunlight rested on a face and created that orange fringe around its edge, or the greys/dull blues in a wheat field, or the bright indigo in a cast shadow, or the red along the outside of a person's eye, and it just clicked for me that this was a very available & observable aspect of reality, which had up until that point gone completely unnoticed! If you're really perceptive about the art you look at, it's shocking how much it can teach you about how to see the world (in this particular case I mean this literally, in that the art I looked at fully changed the way I visually processed the world, but of course it has had a strong effect on my worldviews/relationships/beliefs).

despite how much azul continues to do his best to learn about life on land… relationships are certainly difficult for him to understand sometimes considering how long he has spent his life in the sea and though there are many similarities between merpeople… there are still some differences. once azul is rather close to you he does become unintentionally— clingy with you. (when you two officially get together that's another story) but he has a habit of wanting to lean close to you or have a hand on you in some way, like on the small of your back when showing you something in the mostro lounge.

so needless to say, he is in love with any sort of touch from you he takes that as some sort of hope and sign that you reciprocate how he feels haha. jade and floyd tease him ALL the time about it especially when he was struggling to keep his cool-headed composure after you once gave him a hug after he did something to help you once.

like I've said azul really doesn't think about it or even try to be this way around you he just does aljdfajdkhf. he’ll feel like a smitten fool as he sits in the vip lounge as he's doing papers and just think about how you playfully linked your arm around his to bring him somewhere. small things like that are actually quite big to him when it comes down to the differences.

he's aware you probably don't know that you're unknowingly flirting with him, but he finds it amusing and plays along with you, nevertheless. he thinks it's cute that you don't know and all the more enticing, you’ll find him chuckling, trying to hide his grin with his gloved hand “oh my, I didn't know you liked me that much fufu” he’d say. you can't help but feel confused as to what he finds so interesting… like you literally just yawned.

it'll take him a while to actually tell you what it means since he finds the obliviousness to be quite cute. you only put two and two together when he tells floyd about what you did right in front of him and the two laugh about it. now you've got floyd teasing u about it..

like azul he is a little more affectionate just in a different more. in a less obvious fashion, though there definitely have been a few occasions where he likes to bring your hand to his lips and see your reaction, he finds it so amusing. he always has his teethy grin plastered on his face.

he hates the way he can always tell when you're wearing cologne or perfume and he hates that he likes it as well, he may or may not be a bit addicted to your scent. he literally can tell if you're near just because he knows the damn fragrance you use.

if you two are particuarly close... like him falling asleep around you and such. if you happen to pet his head and his ears, he immediately shoots you this look then mumbles something before being too tired to do anything about it or give you some retort. he just lets it happen... he does enjoy it anyway. slowly he kinda doesnt realize how clingy he can get with you because of it. he becomes a little needy and wanting more attention from you. he cant help it.... i mean you basically just showed him that you're fine with it anyways.

leona seems to be someone who can get pretty possessive, unintentionally too over you. kind of territorial, like if you're someone he has eyes for then he doesn't expect others to really get in the way of that.

malleus draonica

malleus is not only a fae but a pretty sheltered one too, I’d think he’d take almost anything from you as a sign of you being completely infatuated with him as he is with you. you could offer split your ice cream or invite him out somewhere, show any sort of interest in him as he talks about gargoyles as he’s doing single club activities. the one time you asked curiously and wanted to touch his horns, he’d be searching for the loveliest jewel to bestow you for your wedding day.

speaking of jewels… he gifts to you a lot especially after you give him anything first (it could be a cool rock you found) and he’d be so smitten and glad to reciprocate that by giving you earrings, rings, necklaces etc. and when you accept them even though you're not exactly fully understanding why he takes it even more as a sign of you accepting his advances.

after taking any of your little acts of being somewhat kind to him and he’s already so deeply into you, lilia would certainly be someone who hears just all about it. i think he would only feel happy for malleus, as it appears he must’ve found the right one. he is just supportive of malleus and is simply overjoyed to know he has some little human that makes him so happy.

lilia vanrouge

he has lived long enough and in different places to understands human courting's and more so than someone like malleus. he knows how different it is, trust me he is fully aware, but he thinks it's amusing. lilia pretends to take it the wrong way and watch you get all confused, when he's just being playful.

just cant help that he finds it so adorable when you unknowingly show him affections as a fae would in his culture. even just being slightly affectionate with him is enough to have him giggling and warning you to be careful to what fae you do that to. they do tend to take very kindly towards any affections and gifts!

lilia will straight up tell you though too, you could gift him and give him something neat you found or made, and he'd look up at you with a stupid grin like "kfufu... i accept your love, dear" NO???. he still holds onto anything from you with the utmost joy.
